Pics: A round up of some of the merch that's available nowadays.
From the Lovecraft/Houdini mashup & Howard's intense enjoyment of astronomy to HPL's original tales/pastiches, several studies & playing cards - the Great Olde Writer is every- where!!
1914: Update/Roundup.
During this year, Lovecraft began writing an extensive astronomy column for the Providence Evening News.
It would last 4 years, until 1918.
Here, Howard had the space that he needed to enliven whatever the dry sky phenomena of the month might be.
HPL revealed the Greek myths behind the names of stars & constellations, shared important astronomical discoveries thruout the ages & even snuck in bits of his own 'poesy'!
Lovecraft would hit his scientific 'peak' with 1915's "Mysteries of the Heavens," a compact survey of the entire realm of astronomy!
Howard wrote these essays for the North Carolinian Asheville Gazette.
As a new member of the UAPA, HPL wrote of this organization's internal affairs.
In 1914 alone, Lovecraft published "A Task For Amateur Journalists" & "Departments of Public Criticisms."
Howard found astrology completely ridiculous - nothing more than a pseudoscience.
As was usual for HPL, he took personal umbrage at a local promoter of astrology - one Mr. Hartmann.
The Providence Evening News printed a series of letters from both men.
Lovecraft took the extreme opinion that astrology could drag humanity down into a "new dark age!"
That the very concept of foretelling shouldn't be tolerated by a scientific civilization.
Otherwise, such superstitions would undermine all scientific & techno- logical efforts, leading to uninformed citizens!!
This was a cardinal sin for Howard. He thought that people who couldn't use or understand science were just being lazy...
Among his anti-astrology essays, HPL wrote "Astrology & the European War," "Falsity of Astrology," "Astrology & the Future," "Delavan's Comet & Astro- logy" & "Fall of Astrology."
Then, Lovecraft changed tactics & attacked astrology from within!
By becoming an astrologer (under a false name)!!
Howard then made up the most stupid predictions! This included that the Earth was going to explode - due to internal gasses!!
Shades of Krypton...
Unable to compete with Howard, Hartmann retired from their mail feud.
HPL would continue to keep himself updated on astronomical subjects & sometimes used that knowledge to make his tales more plausible...
This would come to a head in 1926, when Lovecraft & C.M. Eddy were hired - by the magician & escape artist, Harry Houdini!
Howard & Eddy were to write a book against common superstitions. This work would be titled "Cancer of Superstition."
Houdini had already paid HPL for an article on astrology.
On October 26th, of 1926, Lovecraft wrote, "Our slippery friend Houdini... was here early in the month..."
"He has a devilish lot more for me to do & has been trying to get me to meet him in Detroit - at his own expense!"
"But, I maintained that I... do (my) best - within sight of my native town."
Then, he updates Houdini's health...
"I note, in the paper, that Houdini... had a breakdown... I'll send him a line of sympathy to jolly him along."
It didn't work.
Five days later - on All Hallow's Eve, 1926 - Houdini passed away.
One of his tricks was to take a punch to the gut - after Houdini prepared himself...
But, a fan struck the magician - before Houdini could prepare his muscles for the blow!!
This, of course, detailed all plans for the planned book.
But, parts of Howard's detailed synopsis & a chapter (on "Genesis of Superstition") written by Eddy would finally be published - in 1966!
Then, HPL's unpublished astrology essay was sold on eBay - for a cool 5 grand!!
End.

Introduction, rabbit hole, personal note
Personally I've lost sense of what a feeling sounds like. I just know my sight to see the world is veiled by my ambivalence with being a part of it and that feels like something.
What trips me up is the words and phrases all smashed into 90 second videos, interfering with my ability to actually do anything because I'd rather watch than play, an unfamiliar game. All the words we have for brainwashing. Insemination, dogmatic, narcissistic, propaganda shoved down the opticals, spectacle.
The ironic, the hopeful, maybe this will help someone else while they go through the process, now I'm wondering if sharing actualizes what you're doing, and I'm afraid to share. Or if it just contributes to the fog. Discovering that this fog is a smoke filled consciousness echo, saying fix this fix that fix it. Inside a self righteous thunderdome for the entertainment of many, and the first platforms to live stream genocides.
Have you not experienced ego death? OH, its radicalizing, you have to see for yourself then maybe you'll understand where I'm coming from.
Am I being dramatic.
Whatever, I'm bothered.
Bothered by society, bothered by humanity, or the lack there of, fully aware that I'm bothered by my perception but I promise I've seen through others, brightly colored, softly toned, calm stone below the crisp and shallow puddle but still underneath it all, I come back here for a reason.
There's something with our psyche, a bug, a virus, an error alert you can't just hit X. Ultimately I feel like we could at least agree on that. We deal with these popups all day, in many different ways.
Ok ok, scroll past the rabbit hole or read me through
It's intermission during the show and we decide mid conversation to start remembering backwards all the things we had said. And its really fucking hard, like memory is weird enough and now it's being tested? But I really think it's necessary, and arguments are inevitable. And to get past it all we need to be is open with a filter, the rest is just the process, processing, in a perfect mind.
But were not, we don't have perfect minds, we don't live in a perfect world, I haven't been able to re trace a conversation without yelling since the first time I tried when we were like 10 or something.
So what if we're required, to stop and listen, hear the experiences around me, its not just mine that weighs when I'm crying, there are so many of us and we all have our own to share.
Small set backs you re-calculate and re code, continue with the day. Within that we have different understandings of a small set-back.
But harsher road blocks are placed systemically for us to go through together because how the hell can a mind be well, when you have a piece of it brutalizing and dehumanizing itself with its apparently gained power? I know we can do this to ourselves everyday in small ways.
And how are we supposed be okay with this as reality! It's so easy to close your eyes when the worst isn't happening to you. The thing is there's a worse state of being that you just thought of, or you might agree that it's a malfunction to normalize the effects of poison without treating it's sickly condition. A trick of the mind.
We rationalize our misfortunes under the pretense that one is better then one, then dare to say we deserve what we have because of who I am. And who are you?
The child of a mother of a mother of a mother, where do you think I came from?
I'm going to share a corner of grief, because under the screen under the stars under the eye lids and empty hellos, I'm really fucking lonely.
I noticed you in my fear of connection, reconnecting, wanting to connect.
I've deleted, blocked and removed myself from all social platforms at least 3 times, and in just that moment of humiliation erased every number, every face, every voice, every friend that ever existed within a 10 year sphere of community. Which sounds just digital but it showed me how badly I keep in touch. That has something to do with being seen, and everything to do with seeing myself. Why is that so disgusting. 12th house sun? 1st house rising? Probably my Mercury in Pisces, something aspects around and around this deep dark pit and it makes me so fucking difficult to be around.
They tried to teach me but I don't think I understand.
And I think that's what I am most pissed off about. From the age of diapers, according to my mom, I had an expression of no fucking way are you gonna control me. Have charge over me. And with that one moment I became free to destroy myself as long as it was safe.
As long as someone could watch.
As long as someone knew.
And I never got prepared to protect myself.
With all the appreciation and gratitude I owe my parents, and the adults that raised me in tandem, and the blessing of a life I was gifted into, today I still I have to stop myself from blaming every figure that just watched me as I walked myself off a fucking cliff.
I was a kid, why wouldn't anyone stop me. Or why didn't they know? I guess they tried in they're own way, even today the way people help doesn't seem to get though my thick ass skull. So it really is still.. me huh.
Because I knew EXACTLY what I was setting myself up for, it just happened to be rooted in slowly slowly slowly ruining myself, my ambition, my hopes, my dreams, my goal was never to succeed, not in a new smart gifted way it was to ruin myself so I could at least now, finally, have a concrete reason for why I just cant get it done.
And that's going to be a whole conversation about privilege.
Right now I just feel failed by myself and anyone who could have guided me. Even typing I'm thinking fuck! I should take it all back!
And this is the feeling, so maybe to forgive myself and everyone else I have to be okay with this feeling. Because I know things now, and I knew parts then, but I stayed quite, silent, dismissive, and willing to see what would happen. Which sounds a lot like eating the poison.
But I don't know where I am now, 10 years have passed and in a very very strange way, I'm back where I started, with a twist, and it's kind of laughable, and I am maybe enjoying this, but there is a lot, a lot to talk about.

girl thank u bc everything i was seeing about 6h composite placements was literally so bad but i saw ur 6th house moon one and it brought me a breath of relief
Aww, of course! The 6th house and the 8th house both get a huge bad rap, from total opposite ends of the spectrum. Quick rant time.
The 6th house holds domain over routines, work, and habit, so people tend to write it off as boring, and thus having nothing to do with 'juicier' topics like sex, relationships, fame, etc. Meanwhile the 8th house gets spotlighted for how it exposes vulnerabilities and painted as dangerous, evil, and scary, so it's framed as having too much intensity, thereby poisoning anything it touches.
So, according to pop astrology, the 6th house is the Nothing-Good house and the 8th house is the Anti-Good house of synastry, lmao.
The thing is, both houses ask for more effort and more mindfulness in order to find something worthwhile within them. Most people just don't have the patience or work ethic to put in the time and thought! Part of the reason why they both get such bad publicity is that people remember their own bad experiences with the houses, which require simultaneous grit and delicacy to handle them correctly, and they assume the house itself along with its domain prescribes bad experiences by its very nature.
Not true. Their successes are just harder won.
The 6th house can be the bedrock of a stable and long-lasting, yet tender relationship, but it requires care, and consistency, to get to that place of trust and warmth! Just like how 8th house placements can signal mutual understanding and appreciation like no other, but only for those willing to accept the cost of exposing and witnessing the darkest and weakest parts of you and your partner!
People also love to reduce the 6th house to its minor correlation to enemies, usually while completely forgetting that the 7th, 8th, and 12th houses also all have traditional connections to different kinds of enemies and hostilities. And every single house holds domain over something negative. Like, that's how astrology works, lol!
Anyways, the 6th house is underrated, particularly in synastry. The only houses that are emphatically more powerful are the angles, but even then, power is not inherently a good sign. Whether a synastry reading indicates an appealing or unappealing relationship is really and truly a matter of what you want from a relationship and whether you're willing to work with whatever resources it provides you.
Don't let the bastards get you down. Maybe a sixth house placement will work out for you, or maybe the effort isn't worth it and it won't, but either way, don't let people who didn't or who knows partners who didn't put forth the effort - or worse, people with no experience with the placement whatsoever! - tell you whether your relationship will work or not. The 6th house teaches us that that is entirely up to you and your partner to decide together, each and every day. ♡♡♡

Argentina and Never Ending LIES of Privatization
Of all the things that infuriate me about Western coverage of Latin America, none are so angering than the way the West and the Neolib bootlickers across the world talk about every U.S.A backed anti-Communist, Neoliberal despot as if any of their violent, greedy, economically destabilizing "Reforms" are in any new.
youtube
Around 10:50, the Ghoul on the right asked Ramiro Tosi, Economist, ex-Argentina Undersecretary of Finance, if Milei's "Fiscal Responsibilty" (Social Mass Murder) is even possible in Argentina. As if overwhelming neoliberalism has not been the defacto economic policy since the Junta took control in 1976.
Not a single Peronista that has been able to win an election has even had the courage to undo any of the damage that the deregulatory regime of the Martinez De Hoz. A man with connections to David Rockefeller and Henry Kissenger and U.S business ties, who was given carte balance to reshape the Argentine economy after the Military took over.
The Ghoul then, corroborates Milei's schizo-speech about "The fall of the west" to "orientalism" and "Weakness" tip-toeing around his nationalist warmongering, to focus on his statements about *his kind of government being a rare species in the West and In Europe.
Psychotic lies, all of it.
Are we operating under the assumption that in a decade that has brought about monstrously unpopular rightist economic restructuring in just about every polity, from France to Brazil, that Milei is some sort of lone wolf?
Are we not seeing a Internationalized class realestate exploiters destroy the housing market of every Liberal nation on earth, while the Politicians just continuously pass legislation to make it easier for them to continue this murder? Aren't European Farmers on strike due to "economic restrucuring" that includes removal of tax credits and subsidies for agriculture, but completely keeps subsidies for Coal barons and Financial Speculators under the guise of, "incentivizing innovation"
The ease with which Liberal institutions simply shift their language into one that implies that we're all living under a Socialist Bloc, you'd think Gorbachev's reign was still just a glint in the Pizza Hut's wet dreams.
It is important to note this rant is about the coverage from Deutsche Welle, a German State News organization with that often Hosts American/ British news anchors when covering international topics. (to sucker in the yankees, and feed them their slop)
Side Track==>
I have long since stopped paying attention to American News outlets, since the veil of strategic disinformation is so transparent, media coverage is closer to dinner theatre than journalism. Anyone watching and engaging with anything that comes out of an American Journalist's mouth has to have suspended their disbelief in order to enjoy the show.
Much like how a Superman fan knows that Superman's disguise being easily seen through is something done for the audience's benefit; and thus they willing ignore it's unbelievability in order to enjoy the show, Informed News watchers willing engage with the blatant lies and doublespeak of their preferred News source in order to enjoy the slow dissent into hell that Fox and NYT narrate over. Ultimately European News agencies are no different. But their priorities are slightly different, and thus are able to things like "socialized healthcare is an undeniable good" and "Not every immigrant is a criminal rapist" without being sent before the House of UnAmerican Activities.
Side Track over==>
The "Economist" (Monetary Astrologer) ecchos the Ghoul's statement.
The ready made liar, as images of labour strikes and bread lines appear, says that there has never been economic deregulation in Argentina.
A BOLD FACE LIE, Anyone living in reality can discredit.
Tumblr media
So often we are forced to put up with stories about right wing dictators in the Global South who are willing to give the people "Tough Love" and make "harsh decisions", as if everyone living south of the United States is a child who needs a parent to spank them.
But all of these stories are deliberately divorced from any reality or history that has actually happened in the Global South.
The Financial Astrologer, those German Ghouls propped up to sell out his people, likely for more money than the Union leadership who are so desperately trying to prevent this catastrophe, make in a years worth of Union dues, happens to have been Undersecretary of Finance (keynesian make-work for pathological exploiters) in a previous government.
Let's see what policies his party spearheaded when it was power.
What kind of blind Utopianism has he spearheaded that lead Argentina down such a decline.
Tumblr media
The First result for his name is some kind of Think tank he directs. There doesn't appear to be a wikipedia article on him so we'll go with this as our first insight.
To save you all some scrolling all you need to know is that this man is currently the "independent Director" of Banco Macro, which is the
"the second largest domestically-owned private bank in Argentina, and the sixth-largest by deposits and lending"
Naturally is a graduate of Applied Capitalist Thought from a Prestigious University in Argentina so this man has always been a professional profiteer, but what about his tenure in government?
Surely directing a massive bank didn't interfere with his duties, carrying out the Marxist agenda of the pre-Milei Argentine government?
Westerners have created in their mind this idea of the whole of Latin America socialist dystopias that haven't learned about the greatness of the Free market.
When in reality the FIRST PLACE that those PSYCHO CHICAGO BOYS set up a government was in Latin America under the auspices of a military dictatorship funded by the United States.
None of this is new, none of this has worked, and yet the show continues. The slow dissent is lovingly guided by a friendly voice.

I've been lurking on your blog for some time now for the astrology updates, but today I'm starting to see what you and some of your anons have been saying about these "Wale's Wailers." I consider myself a pretty big fan of Will and Kate but I can see how some fan blogs are beginning to lose the plot.
I know a blogger in particular who is starting to sound like a Squad member by the day. Yesterday it was pretty much along the lines of "good for Meghan for not showing up because Camilla didn't want her to steal the show" and "Harry was right about Camilla, he was right about a lot." lol Keep in mind this is a blog that is supposed to be extremely anti Sussex. It has gotten so bad with them that they are siding with Meghan and Harry.
Today this blog seems to be accusing Charles of basically paying Dailymail editors because they reported on a poll that rated him favorably. But then totally forgets to mention that there is also an article about the poll showing how Australia and Canada want to vote to remove Charles as their head of state.
Yup. I can probably guess which blog it is because I probably have it blocked. They either always were this crazy and were able to hide it for a long time OR they have jumped the shark, decided they're going to be crazy, and will remain so for the rest of time.
It's either that everything written in the press is the fault of evil BP, Clarence House, & Charles or Charles is just incompetent. (Never mind that the UK isn't North Korea, and Fleet Street can totally print bullshit and not lose any money or respect. They seem unaware of what a free press is allowed to write & publish, even though they live in a country with the USA's First Amendment privileges.)
That person doesn't seem to realize that--if Kate walks into the Abbey on Saturday morning in her new £10k gown and wearing the Dehli Durbar tiara--for all their ranting and raving over the past few weeks, that person has proved themselves to be an idiot.
But that person is on course to do just that.
I get that people are worked up because no one knows for sure how Charles' coronation is going to look and sound, but at this point, I just want it over so that people can stop acting as if the apocalypse is happening at 11 o'clock in the morning this Saturday in the UK.

A Refutation of an anti-Zoroastrian Evangelical
A few years ago I was browsing Twitter when I stumbled upon a thread written by a pseudo-intellectual evangelical Christian apologist from Texas by the name of Sir Travis Jackson. In this thread, the evangelical was attacking Zoroastrianism, my ancestral Iranian religion.
As an advocate and defender of the ancient Zoroastrian faith, I didn't hesitate to get into a theological debate with him.
During the debate, I so thoroughly wrecked him, that he deleted the thread and retreated from Twitter to Tumblr so he could continue the debate without me.
He was seething so hard that he had to go on to Tumblr and write a 3,000 word barely coherent polemical rant to refute the Zoroastrian influence on Judaism and Christianity, where he mentions me by name in the first few paragraphs. I didn't even know about it until today. You can read it here: https://www.tumblr.com/sirtravisjacksonoftexas/627024203052433408/did-judaism-and-christianity-borrow-from
In order for this spasticated brainwashed evangelical to cope with the insecurity that he was feeling towards his beliefs, he had to jump through some very impressive mental gymnastics to refute my views. He should get a gold medal for that.
I have lived in Oklahoma my whole life so I have dealt with my fair share of Iranophobic anti-Zoroastrian evangelicals like him in the past. The evangelical christians are well-known for their bigotry, ignorance, judgemental intolerance, hostility, political extremism, incoherency, hypocrisy, and insular close-mindedness towards people of other faiths and ways of life. I have experienced it time and time again. It is a reputation they have thoroughly earned.
The Zoroastrian community, on the other hand, has earned a reputation of being honest, egalitarian, philanthropic, kind, joyous, charitable, industrious, entreprenuerial, and resilient in the face of adversity. The Zoroastrians have maintained their faith and tradition for thousands of years, surviving countless invasions and genocides from various bloodthirsty armies, and have made contributions to the fields of philosophy, science, literature, art, architecture, and jurisprudence. The ancient Zoroastrians literally invented Human Rights under King Cyrus. They are also well known for their rich cultural traditions such as Nowruz and their interfaith cooperation and positive relations with other religious communities. They also gave the world Freddy Mercury.
If you don't believe me, just ask the Hindus what they think of us. They love us. And we love them.
Anyways, here is my refutation to Sir Travis Jackson's refutation:
The argument presented in Travis Jackson's article against the fact that Judaism and Christianity borrowed from Zoroastrianism is weak and lacks evidence. The article argues that the Wise Men or Magi who visited Jesus were astrologers and not Zoroastrian priests. However, the term "Magi" was used specifically to describe Zoroastrian priests, and there is evidence that they were known to travel beyond Persia to conduct religious ceremonies.
Sir Travis Jackson argues that the Syrian Infancy Gospel is too late to be used as evidence that Zoroaster predicted Christ's birth. However, the fact that the text was written in the 6th century AD does not necessarily mean that it did not draw on earlier traditions. Moreover, the author ignores the fact that there are other sources that suggest a connection between Zoroastrianism and Christianity, such as the Acts of Thomas and the Clementine Recognitions.
Travis argues that the Jews did not borrow the concepts of heaven and hell, angels and demons, the devil, and the final resurrection from Zoroastrianism because these concepts were already present in pre-Zoroastrian Iranian religion. However, this argument overlooks the fact that Zoroastrianism played a key role in shaping the development of these concepts in Judaism and Christianity. For example, the Jewish concept of Satan was influenced by the Zoroastrian figure of Angra Mainyu, and the idea of a final judgment and resurrection was taken from the Zoroastrian concept known as Fareshokereti.
While it is true that many cultures and religions had the idea of an afterlife, including a realm of demons or evil spirits, the concept of Heaven and Hell as a binary choice for souls after death is unique to Zoroastrianism. This is not just a general idea of an afterlife, but a specific concept that has similarities to the Christian and Jewish belief in an eternal reward or punishment. Additionally, there is evidence that Jewish and Christian ideas of Heaven and Hell developed after contact with Zoroastrianism, particularly during the Babylonian exile of the Jews in the 6th century BCE, where they would have been exposed to Zoroastrianism.
While it is true that other cultures had similar concepts of lesser spirits or gods, the idea of angels and demons as specific categories with distinct roles is again unique to Zoroastrianism. In Zoroastrianism, there are good and evil spirits that are in constant conflict, which is similar to the Christian and Jewish ideas of angels and demons. While there may be similarities to other cultures, the specific concepts of angels and demons in Christianity and Judaism are likely influenced by Zoroastrianism.
While it is true that other cultures had similar concepts of a devil or evil deity, the specific concept of a single entity that is in constant conflict with God is again unique to Zoroastrianism. The concept of a fallen angel or Satan in Christianity and Judaism is likely influenced by Zoroastrianism, particularly given the similarities in the descriptions of the Christian devil Satan and the Zoroastrian devil Angra Mainyu.
Finally, the article argues that the concept of heaven and hell, angels and demons, the devil, and the final resurrection were not borrowed from Zoroastrianism because the ancient Iranians worshipped gods called "Daevas" that were later considered demons by Zoroaster. However, this argument does not negate the numerous historical occurences of Zoroastrianism making contact and exerting influence on Jewish and Christian beliefs through the Persian Empire, as there are similarities to be found between their religious texts.
Overall, while the article attempts to refute the claim that Judaism and Christianity borrowed from Zoroastrianism, it fails to provide convincing evidence to support its argument.

Tossing a question for all three.
💫- What is your MCs zodiac signs?
bonus question; would any of them believe in astrology?
Thank you for the ask, mate! Just a quick warning that I know nothing about zodiac signs or astrology or anything like that.
Elias is a Scorpio. He does not believe in astrology because he didn’t know what it fucking was before Professor Shah started on an anti astrology rant during class and he believes what professors tell him to believe 👍
Bernie is a Virgo. He does not believe in astrology because he is a fucking nerd who will not believe in anything until it has scientific evidence. 🤓 this is him
Maisie is an Aquarius. She doesn’t actually believe, but she thinks it’s kind of fun. She’s one of the girls in Astronomy telling each other’s fortunes and giving Shah an aneurism

astrology anon again. Good because i can’t stand that part of fandom. There’s so much overlap between people into new age nonsense and actual conspiracy theories like anti-vaxxers, flat earth, and worse. Larries already look bad enough, we don’t need the association with people who think made up magic and ~vibes~ count as evidence
Exactly. Things like a secret relationship is grounded in reality, but people love to compare us to conspiracy theorists who believe in outlandish, supernatural things. I also can't stand all the old people on twitter who not only believe in Larry but also Shiall and Ziam. I don't care if people get mad at me, but from what I have seen, Ziam has as much "good evidence" as Zarry lol. I don't think these people realize that every Bandom has a million ships that they believe in, but those ships stay within the fandom and no one outside of it hears about it or believes it. Hardly any of those ships end up being true. It took me a long time to become convinced that Larry was actually real, as it seems to be for a lot of people. The only band "ships" I think are or were ever real are Larry and maybe Ryden at one point from Panic at the Disco. Anyway, sorry for the rant, but those people are the real mlm fetishizers, and they do nothing but discredit Larry.

yknow what i feel like talking about my personal worldview. so why not. disclaimer this may include the following: negative views of religion, anti-religious sentiment, general negativity towards all belief systems (particularly Christianity), very scientific discussions of life/the human body, existentialism, bleak outlooks, death, morbidity, and the like. read at your own risk.
look. okay. i'm just gonna start this off by sayin: i respect your right to believe what you believe. and i don't have a problem with people practicing religion. i am also probably harsh and unfair towards religion as an idea. i Am sorry for that.
however. i simply Do Not Understand most religion. now okay right away: do Not bother trying to advertise your religion/beliefs to me. its not gonna work.
mythology, as concept, can be explained as people finding supernatural explanations for natural phenomenons. the greek story hades and persephone explains why the seasons happen. the greek god zues explains why we have thunderstorms. ra the Egyptian sun god explains why the sun rises and sets. the greeks have Apollo as an explanation for the same phenomenon.
religion, to me, follows similar patterns of belief. it is explaining why the world is what it is. and a lot of religious stories can be explained by natural phenomenon. i LOVE reading about the eruption of santorini, a volcano in the mediterranean sea, and how the fall of the minoan civilization, the story of the seven plagues in Egypt, the tale of Atlantis and a variety of other mythological/religious stories can be attributed to it.
but the issue is, it makes me skeptical. if so much of religion and mythology can be disproven and attributed to real events and phenomena, why believe these stories? science can explain most of what mythology can. and do you know what science has? proof. evidence. i trust what science has taught me, because it makes sense. it works together, and it can be proven.
so to me, religion? is a myth. a belief. it's not true. i respect that you are allowed to believe what you want. yeah. but i don't. these myths, these stories? yeah, jesus was a real person. was he the son of god? no, i don't believe that. did the seven plagues really happen? kind of. they are exaggerations, based on a real story that can be explained by Science.
to me? why would i believe that religion is anything more than another story? and why do we place so much importance on making political decisions based on it, when it's a lie?
and in all honesty? i don't like christians. i don't like christianity. block me, attack me, i don't care. as people? yeah. christians can be my friends, they can be good people. but their religion?
fuck it, man.
this is probably going to get me attacked, so just let me explain. i hate christianity because it pushes itself onto other people. i hate it because it's used as an excuse to justify stripping rights from other people. i hate it because it believes that i am drowning, that i am lost, that i am lesser, because i don't believe in it.
you know what i can respect? i can respect people believing in things that i don't believe in or understand that just want to be respected. that just want to live their lives. admittedly. i do Not know a Lot about the beliefs of anyone besides christians. maybe other religions are different in this way. maybe they're the same.
but i hate christianity with a burning passion. because it tells me that i am lesser if i don't buy into, in my eyes, their myth.
okay, religion rant over. i just wanna say on a similar note: i don't believe in the supernatural. i don't believe in ghosts, soulmates, reincarnation. i don't understand it. i don't buy it. spiritual stuff? astrology? nah. but i don't hate them. mostly. believe whatever lies you want as long as you don't try to force me to believe in them.
so if i don't believe in anything supernatural? what do i believe, then?
i believe- know? in my eyes, this is fact. this is what science tells me, and science can provide proof. i know that we are made of cells. i know that we are a complicated collection of electric and chemical signals that work together to create our world.
i don't think there's anything supernatural about the world. yeah its a bit bleak. but it's how the world is, really. it's mundane, and it's often far more random and physical than we think.
we are all matter, moving around on this planet. i like to think we are made of stardust. no, it's not true. but it's not inaccurate. on a base level, we are made of the same 92 elements that stars are made of. and it brings a little smile to my face to think that we are stardust, even if i know it's just a twisting of the truth for the sake of poetry and comfort.
and what is death? death is terrifyingly mundane. death is not supernatural, or magical. there is no after death. one day your brain will stop working in the mysterious ways it does, stop sending signals through your neurons, and that will be it. all that is You will be gone. and there are no souls, no reincarnation, nothing to bring you back again. you are gone.
yes. that's as scary to think of as it sounds. i don't like thinking of death. i don't like how easy it is to break the delicate balance of cells inside a human and kill them. but humans are, when it comes down to it, nothing special. we are simply cells, communicating. and yeah. its impressive to think about how humans work, in a more scientific way. maybe we're not magic, but it sure seems magical, how cells work, doesn't it? how millions of atoms come together, assemble, to make you the human that you are?
to end this on a happier note, i don't believe in magic. i don't believe in religion. but i do find meaning in life. it's about the little things, about the million different things that we consider mundane, that are really astonishing.
it's about the little weed that grows through the cracks in the pavement against all odds, trampled by rough feet and still growing despite that. it's about the casual intimacies of human life; the kind strangers you meet and the way that people are so beautifully human. about how we, as a species, want to create, and share, and be happy and make others happy, and love and be loved. i think that's a beautiful thing, really.
it's about the beauty and intimacy of nature; of the rivers and streams that flow consistently, year after year, about the mountains that are pushed up by the earth and the gentle waters of the ocean lapping against the shore. water is powerful and powerless; it erodes rock and destroys homes and yet we need it for life. and i think that the world contains a million intimacies that have a meaning far beyond than the lies we make up to explain them.

Why do astrologers get so vicious when you tell them you don’t believe in that shit. Like people into astrology and divination act like you slapped they’re grandma if you dare cast doubt about astrology or magic.
They really do. They're so insecure and anti-science that they can't stand their beliefs being challenged or criticized and accuse people who are critical of astrology and divination of being misogynists, bigoted, and resort to all sorts of slander. They're extremely toxic and conveniently ignore the ways their beliefs encourages prejudice and has historically been used to harm and manipulate others.
Astrology has no logical or rational foundation to it; it is junk science and it's science that has been debunked and dismissed by astronomers for decades at this point. Astrology being pseudoscience is not new knowledge. And as for divination; I don't believe in that crap either and it's not immune from criticism. If hating astrology and being critical of it and other forms of woo woo makes me misogynistic, boring and narrow minded than so be it.
I think what gets me about the people obsessed with astrology or other woo woo is that they are all for bashing Christianity and other mainstream religions and spiritualities but they sure as hell can't handle the same critical eye being turned towards them. My sister, for example, is really into astrology and absolutely loves bashing Catholicism but as soon as I or someone else is critical of astrology or Wicca, suddenly she can't take the heat.
They're toxic hypocrites.

I realize this is an astrology blog but I literally know no one who watches Riverdale and I feel like my head is exploding.
So is Barchie really ever going to happen? I’ve seen spoilers but I’m only on season 3 - I do like Bughead but, fuck dude. I’ve wanted Barchie since episode one and that has not changed one bit. Partially because I feel like Betty and Jughead just aren’t endgame, I can’t quite put my finger on it but I don’t feel it with them. I know I’m in the minority but. Barchie all the way 🤷🏼‍♀️
As for Veronica, she is literally so difficult for me to like. Maybe that’s why I’m a fan of Archie with anyone but her? Her character is just insufferable to me. Does anyone else feel this way or am I insane. Every time she says “Archiekins” I wanna fuckin puke. Though I will admit. She’s incredibly beautiful and her singing voice is a dream. But that’s Camila, not Veronica. So.
Also Kevin needs more screen time because I love him dearly.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk. (Also feel free to check my recent Sun / Moon Combos for the Riverdale characters posts)

I have returned to the community by making another astrology rant/observation post
my shocking revelations since entering college. a saga.
♋️On one of my earlier posts I talked about how I knew no cancer suns and I think the universe heard me because I swear to god every other person I met on this campus is a cancer woman. All of them are in pretty serious relationships and have the clearest skin I’ve ever seen.
🏎I’ve met a lot of libra men with an obsession with cars and just driving in general? They love a good car and somehow tend to treat their vehicles way better than their significant others🥰 if you haven’t caught on I am apart of the anti-libra man uprising.
👍Aquarius rising’s fashion sense is *french kiss* I’ve found that women with this placement love wearing black clothing and they always look so good.
👑Scorpio moon woman celebrities are like REALLY popular amongst other woman and for good reason. They have a very elegant and royal aura that makes you want to bow down because they are queen.
😪I encountered my first moon in 8th house synastry moment as the moon and I never want to do that ever again. I literally cried once because he hugged another girl and ended up crying after every time I saw him because my feelings towards him were always so intense and to this day I have no idea if he ever caught on or not. I’ve been the 8th house person before but it honestly wasn’t as intense as being the moon for me personally.
🫂 Ascendant conjunct Venus synastry in friendships is so underrated. I have this with one of my friends I met this year and it’s always just such a pleasant time with them. I just feel content and happy being in their presence and find them truly beautiful inside and out. Feelings of conflict and discontent seems to just evaporate with this aspect between people I don’t think I could ever be mad at her.
🦁It’s always so easy to spot a Leo rising or sun woman it’s the type of thing where after like 10 minutes of talking to them I’m like this woman is a leo.
🙏Anyone who has dated an underdeveloped Taurus or Leo woman or a Gemini or Virgo man is entitled to free therapy.
🥺Pisces moons with scorpio risings have some of the biggest eyes I’ve ever seen! They always remind me of the pouty emoji.
🕵️If you have a lot of scorpio or pluto placements/aspects you may feel like people are always suspicious of you even if your doing nothing wrong. I find that it’s because people with these placements have very intense presences which cause very intense reactions from people.
🤥Scorpio Mars is an infamous “other woman” placement. Women I’ve met with this placement really be making men act up by just existing.
🐱All my moon square pluto/moon in 8th house people are entitled to financial compensation on the basis of unhinged and sporadic trauma.
👩🏼‍❤️‍💋‍👨🏾I’ve noticed that a lot of gemini venus women are prone to being in very serious and long term relationships? Also they’re super romantic individuals but find it really hard to let go of past relationships. Lowkey trust issues™️
Sagittarius suns🤝Aquarius suns is taking 5000 years to figure what to eat for lunch and stopping at every restaurant just to get out of line and end up at the same place you started off at
🥴Sun conjunct Pluto culture (especially for the sag generation) is consistently getting caught up in situations you absolutely did not ask for
😝Venus in 5th house synastry is the embodiment of the “you could run me over with a pick up truck and I’d say thank you😍” comment you see under ppls posts
🏃‍♂️Sagittarius Mars men be ran through like they do not give a fuck about morals when it comes sex. They will have sex with you and then your best friend without blinking an eye
💵Scorpio in the second house may have an obsession over material things and values in order to prove their self worth. This is especially prominent if the sun is also in the second house
