yooooo so this is unimportant but its something I'm picking out. also, I have no opinion on it, but I still feel the need to share. also, this isn't anti-blaine, not anti-kurt, it's just a sliver of detail.

so I've watched glee 5x16 "tested" soooo many times (bc it's hilarous), but this time I noticed something new.

it's when kurt, blaine, sam, and artie are at dinner together and sam says he wants to find a clinic. then kurt says something about its good to get tested, "we did after the whole eli c. thing." and it took me a second, i had to replay it. the eli c. thing.

and then blaine rolled his eyes.

I agree with you re Tartie. Much better as friends. And it felt incredibly lazy forcing them together at the end. Why can’t they be single?

It's such a "we don't know what else to do with them" move. I hate it when stories feel the need to leave everyone with a love interest, it reinforces such archaic ideals of what a happy ending is. I think Tartie's happy ending would have been becoming a platonic power duo. Or, if they had to get back together at least have more of a buildup than a single scene in A Wedding suggesting they'd settle for each other if no one else came along. Come on, that's just sad.

Again, I don't have anything huge against them as a couple and deffo not against the people supporting Tartie as a romantic ship. And I also understand Jenna and Kevin themselves pushed for a Tartie endgame. I just think it falls very flat.

v random but i rewatched the scene of kurt and rachel auditioning w romeo and juliet today bc i had blocked it from my memory but it's literally so fucked up like,,,rachel and artie are meant to be kurt's friends, beiste should know exactly how it feels to be treated like shit bc you don't fit someone else's mold, and emma is meant to be a guidance counselor yet they all treat kurt like shit and laugh him off the stage. sorry this got rant-y but i hate that scene sm

I hate absolutely everyone in it (except for Kurt obviously), it made no sense for them to behave the way they did. the writers just needed a way to make the 'kurt is too feminine to play tony so we have to pick blaine :\' storyline work, because they knew it wasn't

In reality emma would never do something like this, shes the sweetest person on the whole show and she would never make fun of a student. like you said, beiste struggled with something similar so he knows how shitty it must make kurt feel, and theres no way he wants that. I literally have no words for artie,, even if they weren't that close, they were still friends and even if they werent, its still such a shitty thing to do 💀 i actually dont understand what rachels problem in this scene is, she seems so weirded out by kurt and like why??? what exactly is he doing to make you so uncomfortable??? how does she expect to make it as an actress if she cant even go through a simple scene like that??

Glee always had this awful habit of making interesting storylines and then immediately dropping them for the sake of creating another one. Because…why weren’t Sam and Artie held accountable for saying those things to Ryder when he felt comfortable enough to share with his so called “friends” ???

Alright, I’m about to expose myself with my personal Glee opinions because I’m bored. Here we go!

Klaine and Brittana were way more unhealthy than Finchel could ever be (even though, Finchel was still plenty toxic).

Quinn should’ve been bisexual (I don’t ship Faberry, just FYI).

Glee is not a LGBTQ+ friendly show (it may be a lesbian-gay friendly show, but it was not bisexual-trans friendly).

Jake cheating on Marley was not a good storyline because it was obvious that he adored Marley and was really trying to be a better person.

Kitty should’ve been punished for causing Marley to have an eating disorder.

Burt and Carol had the healthiest relationship on the show.

Marley was an interesting character and not boring.

Mercedes was the most talented character on the show and that’s that.

Will was a terrible person (which isn’t really an opinion, but a fact at this point, considering the whole fandom hates him).

However, Sue isn’t any better and should’ve went to jail a long time ago, i.e., assaulting students, kidnapping Kurt and Blaine, extorting people, etc.

Kurtofsky is a disgusting ship.

Samcedes was my most favorite ship on the show.

I liked Tina’s season 1-2 aesthetic and personality more than her season 4-5 one.

I neither outright hate or love Santana and Sebastian.

Unique was fabulous and absolutely her own character, and she shouldn’t have been treated as just a Mercedes stand-in.

Quinn deserved more patience and respect because she went through a lot.

I’m personally not the biggest fan of Seblaine, but I don’t bash people who do ship them.

Mercedes & Quinn and Marley & Unique were the best and underrated friendships on the show.

Emma deserved better than Will.

I have mixed feelings about Beiste turning out to be trans because I feel like the storyline came from kind of out of nowhere and disregarded previous characterizations, but I’m cis so I can’t really say anything concrete about the subject and I know that some trans people do actually relate to his realization and coming out, so.

Samchel was just a stand-in for Finchel because they made Sam continuously dumber each season.

I didn’t like Brittany because she could be really cruel for no reason.

While I did enjoy the season 4 newbies, I liked the season 6 newbies better.

Blaine should’ve stayed at Dalton, instead of transferring to McKinley.

Jesse and Rachel were their best selves when they were with each other.

Mike deserved a better storyline and a better love interest.

Tina rubbing vapo rub on Blaine because he was sick when he was unconscious was creepy and not sweet like people like to think.

They should’ve gave Ryder proper storylines for his childhood molestation and dyslexia and they should’ve been more respectful.

The glee club pushing religion onto Kurt when his father was in the hospital was cruel and very disrespectful. I myself am a person of faith (Islam) and I was so disgusted by this. I would never force my beliefs onto someone else.

Rachel had her good moments, but overall, she was a very dislikable character.

Finn’s voice was mediocre and he should not have become the male lead of the club.

Artie was just not a good character, with his misogynistic remarks.

I have mixed feelings about Puck and it’s not because of what the actor had done.

Finn was severely violent and he deserved to be slapped by Santana for outing her. Yes, he didn’t know they would be overheard, but he shouldn’t have just blurted it out in the middle of the hallway.

Kurt should’ve stayed a football player because it would’ve been amazing rep for a queer jock (they ended up doing it anyway with Spencer).

Klaine was a mutually toxic relationship, but neither were outright terrible people.

Kurt + anyone who bullied him (I'll leave that there...), Pezberry (I think they would be too toxic together), TARTIE omg Artie was so awful to Tina!!! In my mind they are NOT endgame 🤢

7. Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?

Okay idk if this is like a fandom in general or something from the fandom so I'm gonna go with a character: Artie. For the first two seasons I didn't mind him, but after the WSS plot I started to hate him and I haven't been able to look at him in the same way, he bugs me to no end and now even going back and watching s1/s2 I can't deal with him. One time I took a personality quiz and it said I was Artie and I was genuinely on the verge of tears 💀

22. Popular character you hate?

Besides Artie 💀💀💀 I really don't like Puck, I think he's an awful person in the earlier seasons and while he does get better later on, I don't think he ever actually apologized for anything he did :/ I also don't ship him with anyone but I feel like I see a lot of people ship him with other characters 😭 so I feel like people don't have strong opinions on him but I def don't like him

for a spicier take, who's your least favorite glee boy out of the s3 members?

Well you're really not wrong Anon, that is spicier.

I'm gonna get bogged down in the details and ponder what, exactly, least favourite means. Because if it's who I care the least about, it's Rory and Joe but that's obvious. Talking just about the main characters, I'm mostly neutral on Artie like my previous list showed. It's not that I hate him, I just rarely vibe with him and the occasional weirdness (i.e. misogyny) doesn't help. Rewatching season 1 I liked him more than I remembered I did but we'll see what I say after season 6.

Least favourite as in, "pisses me off the most"? Finn. Finn Hudson makes me mad like no other Glee character could ever begin to. And again, I don't hate him as such but he often makes it very, very difficult to like him. Artie I just don't care much for but I certainly feel something when Finn is on screen, most of the time. I've begun forming new theories as to what it is exactly that he bothers me because it's certainly not a single thing (so it's not just you know what) but I don't like to focus too much on negatives. I mostly try to either not think too much about Finn or think about him in s4 and where he could have gone from there. Sadly he never did.
