a reminder or an "elucidation", adoption is bad and wrong
the propaganda that adoption is "good", positive or even neutral is all false and wrong

can someone genuinely in good faith explain the anti-adoption perspective to me? i am asking sincerely. i understand that all parental loss is trauma, i am very personally aware of this myself. i also understand that there is trauma of trans-racial adoption often. i understand that the adoption industry, especially the international one, is basically human trafficking and have heard horror stories. i agree that all of these things are systemic problems and have researched them but there is still one thing i am hung up on: which is stating that adoption in general is bad. what is a child to do if their parents die or do not want them? or if their whole community is abusive? these are very real things. all children deserve a stable home. i cannot see how that would be achieved if we lived in a system where children cannot be placed with families or caretakers. if the solution is to just have state run facilities of caretakers similar to orphanages, that seems inadequate and unfair. i have only seen that solution mentioned once tho. i appreciate any good faith response, as i see a lot of discussions of the problems but very little end goals

People aren't entitled to someone else's child either. There are plenty of birth mothers who wanted to keep their babies, but couldn't (religious reasons, poverty).
Adoption at it's core is an industry preying on vulnerable (mostly single) women. It's supposedly a system to find loving homes for poor little children, but all people seem to center are the adoptive parents.
I don't agree with surrogacy either, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when people just turn around and diminish adoption like that.
"Just adopt" isn't as simple as it seems.
i really hate that for some reason being against surrogacy is considered homophobic in most spaces. everytime i see an anti-surrogacy post there has to be those comments like "what about gay people 🥺 how will they have kids 🥺"
they can fucking adopt?? how dare you think someone is entitled to purchase a womb just because of their inability to have children? pro-surrogacy people are ridiculous, they can barely be reasoned with.

Breakdown of an Anti Adoption post I might someday write:
adoption bad
1. feminism
- forced pregnancies & births
- religious themes
2. class issue/ capitalism
- birth family is too poor to raise a child
- adopters crowdfund to pay 50.000 neither the child or first family is going to see. who tf pockets this. literally buying babies
- supply & demand (child trafficking, child kidnapping, illegal adoptions)
3. infertility
- expectations that can't be met because surprisingly children are not just a blank slate they can colour in
4. colonialism/ white saviour complex
- "to get a better life", "poor third world country babies", "aren't you grateful (we saved you)?"
- loss of language and culture, racism
5. actually adopted
- in utero/ trauma of abandonment
- more racism
- no medical history
- I owe my birth mother everything, but I would not be able to recognise her in sea of faces. I do not know if she's still alive.
>> this isn't about whether someone is a good parent or not. it'd about how fucked up this entire system is. and how people just don't care.

“Daddy, watch out!” came Dani’s panicked cry
Danny turns back to the league and his eyes shone as twin beams of green energy fired from them and ignited the papers right out of Batman’s hands
“Those were just adoption papers,” Batman quickly defends himself
“I know full well they were,” the horror says, possibly glaring. It was hard to tell when the creature had no discernible human expressions
“Then why?” asked another member of the League
“Because I do not want any bat themed individuals trying to adopt anyone in my family,” he says then getting right into Batman’s face and slightly gazing to the left and right. “Especially since you’re likely a rich one too, seeing as you stand here as a mortal among those augmented. I don’t like wealthy individuals trying to adopt anyone in my family”
DC/DP CROSSOVER IDEA #56
In which Dani causes unrestricted chaos throughout the DC verse, becoming #1 menace across cities, and seemingly the best escape artist there was.
And the Justice League thinks they’ve won when they finally caught the young rouge…until they try to find her identity and realize Dani Phantom doesn’t exist, at all, and she eventually offers to call her dad. For some reason, they let her.
Maybe they shouldn’t have, considering the eldritch horror that’s currently crawling out of a portal.
