There's been an crashed car on the side of the highway that leads me home from work for about a week now, but today there was a cardboard sign beside it that said 'Please don't burn me! I'll be better soon!'

And I know it was just the owner asking for some common decency, but it also felt kinda poetic to me. Like yeah, I know I'm a little broken right now, in fact I have been for a while, but please be kind and don't break me beyond repair. I don't want to be stuck here forever. I'll be better soon, so long as you give me a chance.

Anyway I'm rooting for you, crashed car. I hope you find your way home soon. 💜

#ramblings #spilled thoughts #spilled ink #spilled words #words words words #i'll be honest i have now idea how to tag this. i was just feeling some things about a car and its little sign #because i am not immune to the anthropomorphism of inanimate objects #especially because i know being burnt is an actual danger that could happen to it #a few years back one of my mum's friends crashed her car on the side of a highway thanks to some frost which left her car a little damaged #but not unfixable. but when she came to tow it the next day it had been burnt into a charred husk along with all her stuff inside #it was just a really terrible thing that didn't need to happen #so yeah...i hope whoever the owner is of this car doesn't have to deal with that #and that maybe one day i'll see that little crashed car back on the roads again

#honest to god I would have vivid daydreams abt living on the Wii sports wuhu island #i really liked playing the plane game bc of the fun lore and seeing the little miis everywhere and imagining what lives they lead #used to get weirdly excited to see one of my family’s miis chilling on the chair of the plane dock like it made me so happy #just these small touches. like how one of the ipoints in the game is this one single canoeing mii out in the ocean #some lost hikers and someone with a dead car battery. the runners circle in the town #i wonder if this has anything to do with anthropomorphizing but it does also feel a little connected to my reasons for liking the #apartment stage in wii music and getting little glimpses of miis walking at night and stuff #you’d think this would make tomodachi life my favorite game but all I really wanna do is just spectate and watch a town of miis going about #just have em under a microscope or perhaps like an ant farm. I dont know why though #I don’t want to interact with any of them or decide anything for them but just. watching them #and if my body got to live on wuhu island I’d just be watching it like my own shell walk around without me in it #yapping

I feel bad for the people who work on Pixar's Cars. People only talk about the poor world building and its implications (most infamously how 9/11 happened in that universe) instead of the story and characters. Sometimes people will bring up that the plot would be the same if it were about humans even though movies about anthro animals are not held to this standard.

Will yall help me ease the autism for a moment bc I was looking at 2 cars and am very settled on the first one but in the back of my mind I'm like. the other car will be so sad if I don't also transfer it in to test drive it

But I do find it VERY COINCIDENTAL that this little booklet happened to have been in my secondary school... and that I happened to pick it without having known about its contents beforehand... and that it happened to have both a talking elevator and a talking car when my two and only two most favourite sentient inanimate object horror movies are The Lift and Christine...!

It was just fate that I found this specific Cambridge English Readers A1 booklet for "Beginners" in English, I suppose.

Characters: an elevator, a car | Booklet: Help! (1999)

They were not really sentient. They were just part of the main character's dream. Moreover, the entire story was merely 32 pages long and they had barely any lines, but I really liked this story (pfft, I wonder why), so that plays a big role, honestly. And this isn't the first time that I have been lenient with allowing "characters" in this list.
