PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one here who has watched The Postcard Killings and thought about Sam and Dean

Like if their life had gone a little differently

That could be them.

Traveling across the country, not to hunt monsters, but people. Telling the world their story through beautifully grotesque tableaus, begging for acceptance and fighting for validity.

Every lesson they were taught, they learned through violence. So that's the only way they believe they can teach others.

I know I got a little too focused on the wrong part of the movie, I'm pretty sure I was supposed to care more about Detective Kanon getting closure and justice for his daughter, but the second I heard the line "You'll find her with him" was said I knew that the killers were the siblings and that there was some crazy codependent incest going on

Dean would be Marina. She's clearly the leader, and her determination to see their work through to the end reminds me so much of him lol

Sam, of course, is an abomination would then be Simon. He's softer, seems to be less attached to Marina than she is to him, and when they read the article that gives them the recognition and validity they're after he's actually willing to just stop and run away with Marina because they got what they were after. Which, I'm (not) sorry, but that came across as so sam-coded to me. Like just wanting to put everything behind them so that they can be together in peace? Sam.

#If I had a nickel for every time JDM played a father in a piece of media where a pair of siblings with insane daddy issues were raised in an abusive environment, causing them to not only become codependent to the point where you cannot separate them, but also form an incredibly deep bond that extends well past romantic or sexual desire but is expressed through those things (also violence) because those are the only things that can actually compare to the intensity and passion
