All right. Yolo. Have you ever thought about more comic drawings about Sora and the Disney villains, each one going against Sora or using him against Riku besides the Evil Queen? If how I put that makes sense...
Simple answer is yes. I have, a lot.
I'm very into the older movies and their characters, I'm much less interested in the movies post Pixar's rise and influence. KH1 leans on the older characters as well, and is stylistically my favorite, the classic villains, heroes and worlds are my favorites.
I have a lot of unfinished musings about the original three princess movies, Snow White, Cinderella & Sleeping Beauty, and so, also about Queen Grimhilde, Maleficent & Lady Tremaine.
Funnily enough, I've had another Dwarf Woodlands project going on before the current ongoing comic, which happened as a spin-off!
I can't promise anything, but maybe some stuff will be realized in the future, stay tuned~!

I think if I was a character in the House of Mouse, I would be the security guard/disney villain…negotiator? Caretaker? Basically, keeping the villains (both Disney and Pixar cuz why not) under control so they don’t get another “House of Villains” scenario
And my running gag besides annoying the crap out of everybody is being a little TOO eager to do my job
*slowly lifting a weapon while Pete is on some villainous rant about shutting the place down*
“Nikki, put that down.”
“Can I maim them now?”
“Listen Mortimer, I know you’re a customer here, but I would really appreciate—I’ll just beat him up.”
“Nikki, NO!”
“IF I HURT HIM, WE CAN KEEP THE SHOW GOING! IT’LL BE SO EASY!”
Bonus:
*One of the villains gets knocked unconscious*
Me: …..We gotta get rid of the body
Mickey: What-
Me: I mean get some water.
Although I think my one flaw would be that I play favorites, meaning I would enable the villains I like to do villain stuff lmao. For example, I would threaten Cruella’s life if she tried to lay a finger on any of the dog characters, but if Ursula stole someone’s voice, then that poor unfortunate soul deserved it and she’s a queen for doing it ❤️

Pixar Ranking #5: UP
Tumblr media
Again, another long hiatus….sorry
Up is one of my favorite Pixar movies! So why is it at number 5 and not like 2 or even 1?
There’s too many good movies on this list!! That’s why!!
I remember when I first saw this movie with my friend in theaters, cute little Pixar movie. First 10 minutes…..I was crying. No idea it would be that emotional so quickly!
I know some critics say that the first 10 minutes was the best part of the movie and the rest was just a goofy cheesy mess. For me however, I think that was what Carl needed! He needed some fun in his life, he spent it in depression and grieving mode. He needed to get out of his comfort zone and experience something completely opposite of what he was used to. And it’s magical! At least to me!
It all comes full circle when he discovers what Ellie wrote for him just before she passed away and I cried againnnn. The emotional beats don’t go away. It actually flows very well with everything, even the parts with Russel. We don’t get a ton on his backstory but just enough is revealed that you can make conclusions. And I love the subtlety of that!!
Of course Doug and Kevin are the icing on the cake, they’re just so funny and adorable! Having Doug say what any golden retriever might be thinking is just genius comedy. It just is.
The villain in this movie is awesome! He’s definitely one of the best twist villains Disney has ever done. You don’t expect him to be the villain right away but you understand when it’s revealed WHY he’s after Carl and the bird because his motivation was all spelled out at the beginning of the movie. So he didn’t need to re-explain anything.
Anyway, this movie holds a special place in my heart. It teaches us that life is an adventure, no matter what it looks like. And you just do the best you can and try to have at least a little fun.

21 Animated Projects We’re Anticipating in 2021
Tumblr media
1) Arlo the Alligator Boy (Netflix/Titmouse)
Tumblr media
This 2D musical feature film for the streaming service will set up a series (”I Heart Arlo”) about an alligator looking for family in a “Regular Show”-type world. The music blew us away during the preview at 2020′s CTN Expo.
2) Bob’s Burgers: The Movie (Disney/20th Century/Bento Box)
While the Fox show is loved for its humor and heart and not really for its animation, this feature film from the show creator Loren Bouchard will have a glossier look, as Bento Box animates on a feature budget and timeline. Expected in theaters on April 9, 2021.
3) The Boss Baby 2: Family Business (DreamWorks/Universal)
This March, DreamWorks Animation brings the brothers back together — to deal with the new cutthroat boss (baby) in the family.
4) Connected (Sony Animation)
Tumblr media
Producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (Spider-Verse, The Lego Movie) support Gravity Falls alum Mike Rianda in his feature directorial debut. Rianda’s brand of wacky humor sets this humans vs. robots film up for a great time, if the company can set a release date.
5) Encanto (Disney)
Zootopia’s Byron Howard leads director team Jared Bush and Charise Castro Smith in this musical super power story set in Colombia, coming this fall.
6) Earwig and the Witch (Studio Ghibli/GKIDS)
Tumblr media
Goro Miyazaki, son of legendary Hayao Miyazaki and director in his own right, brings Ghibli magic to theaters for the first time in six years. This film differs from its predecessors with stylized cg animation, but the story — an orphaned girl learns she’s the daughter of a witch — promises much of the wonder that one expects of any Ghibli film.
7) Luca (Pixar)
Tumblr media
Director Enrico Casarosa debuts with Pixar’s Italian Riviera-set story of friendship between a boy and a boy-shaped sea monster, which arrives this June.
8) Minions 2: Rise of Gru (Illumination/Universal)
We’ve seen Gru’s future and his yellow minions’ past, but finally Illumination highlights the in-between in a villain origin story we hope will be as fun as the first three Despicable Me films.
9) My Father’s Dragon (Cartoon Saloon/Netflix)
Tumblr media
It’s a great year for dragon-lovers, with Cartoon Saloon supplying the first of three feature films about these awesome creatures. Director Nora Twomey brings to life a Newberry-winning book, with help from “Inside Out” scribe Meg LeFauve and writer John Morgan. A boy who runs away to Wild Island finds much more than the captive dragon he sought.
10) Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio (Netflix/Jim Henson)
Another ambition animated feature from Netflix, Pinocchio sets itself apart from other versions of the folk tale in its look — stop-motion by Jim Henson’s studio — and feel, with Guillermo del Toro’s signature dark brilliance under veteran director Robert Zemeckis’ helm. This will not be very family friendly.
11) Raya and the Last Dragon (Disney)
Tumblr media
A warrior seeks the legendary last dragon hundreds of years after those mythical creatures saved her world from the same evil threat they now face. Coming to theaters and Disney+ (for a fee) in March.
12) Robin Robin (Netflix/Aardman)
Tumblr media
This animated musical holiday special comes from the minds behind Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep. It may be a long way from December now, but we’re ready for some stop-motion Christmas fun, especially when the story follows a bird raised by mice.
13) Ron’s Gone Wrong (Disney/20th Century/Locksmith)
Female-led production company Locksmith brings its first animated feature to life under Disney-owned 20th Century (Fox), “Ron’s Gone Wrong.” Set in a world where every child has its own robot assistant, a boy tries to fix his faulty robot this April.
14) Rumble (Paramount/ReelFX)
Based on a graphic novel by Rob Harrell, this film explores the challenges of a world where humans coach monsters in pro wrestling. Yes, really. We’ll see where it goes in May.
15) Sing 2 (Illumination/Universal)
Buster and his band of musical animals return with visions of stardom, or at least attempts to persuade a certain rockstar to join them in this sequel to the Animals’ve Got Talent film, expected in December.
16) Space Jam: A New Legacy (Warner Bros/WAG)
Tumblr media
LeBron James joins the Looney Tunes in this not-quite-sequel to the 1990s classic live-action hybrid film. We’re especially looking forward to prolific voice actor Eric Bauza’s performance as Bugs Bunny, among other Looney favorites!
17) The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run (Nickelodeon/Paramount)
After teasing us with seemingly infinite ads for this film, we’ve been waiting some time for the newest SpongeBob feature film in the United States, which arrives on CBS All-Access and video-on-demand services in February. The story of SpongeBob and Patrick’s journey to save the snail-napped Gary has already premiered in Canadian theaters and in other countries on Netflix.
18) Tom and Jerry (Warner Bros/WAG)
Tumblr media
The live-action/CG hybrid film bring Tom and Jerry to the big screen and HBO Max this February. When Jerry accidentally crashes “the wedding of the century,” Tom is hired to get rid of the mouse, reigniting the famous rivalry and uncovering a secret plot in the process.
19) Vivo (Sony Animation)
Lin-Manuel Miranda delivers Sony’s first animated musical, about a capuchin monkey with big dreams, this June.
20) Wendell and Wild (Netflix)
“Nightmare Before Christmas’” own Henry Selick returns to stop-motion to direct Netflix’s adventure story of two demon brothers (Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele) who escape the Underworld.
21) Wish Dragon (Sony Animation)
Tumblr media
An old teapot transforms college student Din’s meager life into something fantastic when he discovers Long, a Wish Dragon, inside.

Since you’re a big fan of Disney. I wanted to know you’re thoughts on some of the less talked about Disney animated movies if you haven’t said something about them before or even watched them that is. Like Treasure Planet, Home on the Range, or Atlantis: the lost empire? Maybe even the Black Cauldron?
Huh. Interesting question, Anon. I'll give you the short versions of my answers for each... Treasure Planet I think is a highly underrated movie. It's one of my top three favorite interpretations of Treasure Island. I love the aesthetic, the portrayals of the characters, the animation...it's all around a wonderful, WONDERFUL reimagining of the story, and one that I don't think gets the credit it deserves, even to this day. I sometimes go back and forth as to whether or not it's in my Top 20 favorite Disney movies (of the animated line, non-Pixar), but even if it isn't, it's still a fine piece of work. Home on the Range, in stark contrast, I DESPISE. I frankly think it's annoying. It's not COMPLETELY without merit - I like the song "Will the Sun Ever Shine Again?" and the character of Rico is kind of cool - but the villain I'm not personally fond of (I know he has his fans, I'm not among them), the other characters are obnoxious and often stock, the rest of the songs range from forgettable to "STOP FOR THE LOVE OF GOD"...and it has perhaps the worst use of Judi Dench in any movie until "CATS." So, sorry...if you're a fan, good on you, I'm glad you like it, but I really, REALLY don't like this one. Back to the positives, "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" is another underrated feature, in my humble opinion. It's got a few niggling flaws, but I never really understood why a lot of people apparently didn't enjoy it. Really, the only problem I have with the film is the villain, who, again, I'm not really fond of. He was one of Disney's first big "Twist Villains," and in my opinion he's one of the worst. He's played by a good actor, he's got a great death scene, but it's telling that the character is more interesting with better lines BEFORE he becomes the bad guy. But beyond that, I can't think of any real issues I have with the movie. And then there's the Black Cauldron. I have...mixed emotions about the Black Cauldron. I loved it as a kid, but as I've grown up, I've seen more and more of its flaws. Gurgi, even as a child, I thought was a little obnoxious, Taran is not the best-written protagonist...in contrast to Atlantis, the best part of the film is the villain. I absolutely LOVE the Horned King, he's a great baddy, in my books, and he sort of singlehandedly makes the movie for me. I actually also like his henchman, Creeper; I know a lot of people think Creeper is annoying, much like Gurgi, but I actually find him to be funny. So...(shrugs)...take that for what it's worth.

Movie Review: Encanto
Tumblr media
In June, the Pixar wing of Disney animation released "Luca," and I enjoyed it. As a teacher near the end of the year, it was a popular choice for the end-of-year parties in the classrooms I worked in. All in all, I would say I watched it three or four times in bits and pieces. It was all the kids wanted to watch. While I enjoyed it, I didn't like it enough to want to watch it as many times as I ended up doing. Now Disney Animation has released "Encanto," It is much better and more worthy of its praise than "Luca."
The Madrigals live in a hidden village in the jungles of Colombia. Their house is enchanted, and all the Madrigal children and grandchildren had magic gifts, well, almost all of them. Mirabel (voiced by Stephanie Beatriz) doesn't. When she was young and the time came for her to get her "gift," she never got one. When that magic begins to fail, she takes it upon herself to save it and her family.
Tumblr media
I have watched this once on my own and another one and a half times in school. I usually have to go into a kindergarten classroom to cover lunch, and I put this on. The kids love it, I love it, and it tends to make lunch go faster.
Tumblr media
"Encanto" might be my favorite Disney movie since Moana in 2016 and might be in my top 10 favorite Disney movies. The music is excellent, the story is terrific, and it is a departure from many other Disney movies.
Tumblr media
There is not a real villain in the movie. The closest you can get is Abuela because of how she treats Mirabel. But when you look at her life, you realize all her actions result from generational trauma. The fact that she has to overcome that, in the end, is something to be celebrated (sorry to spoil it, I know it's shocking that a Disney movie has a happy ending).
Tumblr media
Now we must talk about Bruno. The song "We Don't Talk About Bruno" has become a massive hit for Disney. Their first time at No. 1 on Billboard since "A Whole New World" in 1992. It is a great song, but I can say the same thing about all the other songs. I genuinely love every single song on this soundtrack. I'm pretty sure only "The Lion King" was the only movie to have that honor up until now.
This movie is great and easily the best thing Disney had put out in a long time.
9/10
Rated PG

What would you say is your favorite scene from all of KH? Most underrated scene?
Oh! Hmmm... I never really thought about it!
I think one of the top-tier ones for me in terms of just how funny it is is the end of Monstropolis in KH3 when they toss Vanitas into door hell. I just think that scene was such a perfect blend of the KH original characters and not just the location of a Disney/Pixar movie and its worldbuilding, but the Disney/Pixar characters, too. It’s rare that we get interaction like that between the Disney cast and the KH villains in particular, and to have the Disney characters wreck the edgy anime boy villain by tossing him around like he doesn’t weigh anything is just gold
Also I just like watching Vanitas get humiliated. He deserves it
For drama/hype factor, though, it’s actually the entire fight in the Keyblade Graveyard at the end of BBS. The part that was taken wholesale from the “Birth by sleep” secret video in KH2. It might be cheating since the entire fight choreography was taken from what was technically a hype-generating short video with much higher production values, but I feel that the effect isn’t actually diminished in the game itself. Something about the dark Keyblade Graveyard lit up by the bright blue Kingdom Hearts, the verticality of the combat scaling and falling down cliffs, and how imposing Xehanort feels despite how little he moves gets me every time
My favorite underrated scene is actually one that’s never been voiced or even fully animated despite how important it is! It’s at the end of Day 354 in 358/2 Days, and honestly marks the start of the finale for me. I love what it does for Roxas’s character and it stood out to me even when I first saw it. He does yet another menial mission for the Organization but is just so beaten down by their treatment of him and his failing friendships that he starts to consider not going back. He’s bitter, he’s angry... the whole scene is a really interesting look into Roxas’s psyche at that point in time. And I just love the pan to the starry sky as he monologues, like he’s looking out there for some sort of purpose or meaning that he isn’t finding in the Organization. And the single tear that he hastily brushes away? Putting his hood up over his head for the first time in the game, a look that he’ll only start sporting again at the very end? Beautiful scene direction
I just love it and it’s such a shame it wasn’t in the HD cutscene movie. It would have been a great opportunity for Jesse to show off his voice acting chops even more (man, he kills it in the Days movie) and we’d benefit so much from seeing Roxas’s expressions fully animated instead of just the standard face sprites. As it is, though, most people forget it exists because it’s only in the original DS version of the game

I know you usually consider PIXAR a whole separate ball game but I HAVE to ask about Sid Phillips (in a villainous capacity) for your meme
Last one for tonight. All others will be answered tomorrow :)
Favorite thing about them?: I like how much of a blank slate he is. The movies give us a lot of elements that paint a clear picture of who he is and what his life is like even though he's only really on the periphery of the toys' lives and they only see him one way. i think it's fascinating how distinct he is, and he always has been a character who I wanted to get to know better, especially after Toy Story 3.
Least favorite thing about them?: I guess I do ultimately wish we got more of him. His cameo as the garbageman was so great and captured my imagination so much, and I just think maybe if there was a bit more to it and he did a bit more or had some interactions with the other toys, it'd have been even better.
Do I like their movie?: Yes. The Toy Story trilogy is as a whole my favorite Pixar movie. They're all tied for me, but the first one will always have the biggest nostalgia softspot for me and Sid's a big part of that.
Do I like their design/outfit(s)?: Yes! The skull t-shirt is great! And I love the garbage man look in Toy Story 3. He's actually quite sexy XD
Do I like their song (if they have one)?: He doesn't get a villain song, but he does rock out to some heavy metal in both the first and third movies, and I fuck with that :D
What do I think of their minion(s)?: Scud's pretty cool but I always forget about him. He's admittedly one of the pieces of animation that's aged the poorest, but I don't really believe in judging the movie for that.
Which trait of their personality do I most see in myself?: I think the way he has a dark and weird sense of imagination in creativity is the biggest thing. I feel very connected to that whole thing of being the kid who likes villains and scary stuff and nobody else getting it.
How would I rate their hero?: Buzz and Woody are cool. I casually like them both. Andy I really like as well, and he's another fun blank slate for the imagination to soar for.
Where do they rank on my top favorite villains?: He's my favorite Pixar villain, and he ranks in the top tier of Disney villains for me too!

I’m sorry,I’m not buying this Twisted Shit.
I didn’t wanna watch the play“Twisted”because Aladdin is both 1 of my favorite Disney movies and 1 of my favorite Disney Princes, but I’ve stumbled upon the whole thing on Youtube and so I took it as a sign of Fate that I had to watch it and...well...I wish I didn’t.😓
youtube
Yyyyeeeaaaahhh,no,I'm sorry.I'm not buying it.This sounds just like if this was the made-up story Jafar tried to sell in order to make Aladdin and other people the Bad Guys.(Even if I must admit the Sultan doesn't look like the best of rulers...;-P but that's the point! If you combine an incompetent ruler with a sly and malicious advisor you get...well...the original cartoon!:-P)
0:17:15 - 0:17:38 OK,this is fair,I admit it.😅
0:30:35 - 0:30:45 OK,but if a bunch of people stole from Omar,he couldn't give a job to every single one of them so,sooner or later, there will still be somone hungry with no job who needs to steal food for living.Even if you help 1 boy, that doesn't solve the long term problem.u___u
(A few minutes later)You see what I was saying at the beginning? You just replaced Jafar with another evil greedy guy in a position of power...what's the difference compared to telling a story in which Jafar is the greedy man in a position of power? This is exactly what has been done with the"Cruella"live action...they made Cruella the Hero and they put another mean lady in her place to be the Villain. 0:43:09 - 0:43:15 YOU-SEE-WHAT-I-MEAN?!?!?! This IS Cartoon Jafar!!!What is the point in making a story about a Good Jafar and putting Evil Jafar in that same story and just calling him with another name?!?!X________X
0:49:41 - 0:49:43 Wait...weren't you singing at the beginning of this story that wishing is for fools?🤨😒 0:50:44 - 0:51:00 Oh,alright.u.u 0:51:25 - 0:51:34 Oh.Nevermind.😓 0:51:35 - 0:51:54 HOLY ALLAH,JUST MAKE UP YOUR MIND ALREADY,DUDE!!!X________X
1:02:06 - 1:02:17 Oh,so you're not...bothered at all at the whole I-had-to-slit-a-few-throats thing here,Jafar?😓What about your Golden Rule,JAFAR?!?!>O># 1:02:08 - 1:02:21 Oh,OK,my bad.Sorry.I take it back.😅
1:08:28 - 1:08:37 "RULE #3! I can't bring people back from the death.It's not a pretty picture AND I DON'T LIKE DOING IT!"
1:10:33 - 1:10:38 Well,he's got a point!
1:11:07 - 1:11:09 PIZZA?😂🍕
1:18:23 - 1:18:29 😄
1:19:58 - 1:20:07 You English speakers always fuck every possible pronunciation up!🤦‍♂️
1:20:56 - 1:21:18 I read the comments before watching the play. One said... Jasmine: "I think we could fix everything if we just made everyone a princess." Jafar: "She's a little confused, but she's got the spirit."...now I'm disappointed this line is nowhere to be found in the actual play.😟
1:39:55 - 1:40:08 (Nods-nods)😑
1:14:13 - 1:14:18 Yeaahh...just wait,dear.You're next.
1:44:17 This whole scene is filmed in such an odd way!😵It looks like Ahmed is behind Jasmine and she never looks at him in the face while talking to him.
1:50:41 - 1:50:42 No.It's:"Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father.Prepare to die."u.U
1:51:40 - 1:51:53 I KNEW you weren't Aladdin!!!You're Jay from"Dogma"!!!👉
1:54:48 - 1:54:53 Wow.You just managed to make Original Jafar even MORE disgusting!X-PPP
1:57:01 - 1:57:03 Jesus Christ?You just said"Jesus Christ"?!Aren't you supposed to be muslim?🤨
1:58:17 - 1:58:27 This-is-the most-STUPID-wish-ever!Now you will be forced to do whatever whoever gets the Lamp tells you to!And...you know...if you give the Lamp to an asshole...you then will have to do whatever that asshole tells you to do!HOW is this gonna make the world a better place,YOU MORON?!?!
1:59:16 - 1:59:17 No...the real question is...why the fuck did Aladdin run away instead of taking your Lamp and becoming your master?!?ò_____O
2:05:26 - 2:05:31 PIXAR...I only got it now...!!!😂And looking back... 0:18:18 - 0:18:38 I should have realized it.🤦‍♂️I mean...I got the"Wall-E"reference and I suspected the"Nemo"one,but I didn't realize he referenced"Toy Story"and the"Incredibles"too and I just didn't connect all the dots.Silly me.
Anyway...the play is good and it's crystal clear everyone put a big effort to it,but I still think the plot as a whole is bullshit;I'm sorry, but I'll stuck with the original version!ù___U #TeamAladdin

Greetings, this is Rene Astle. I have a question for you. What will it be like if Digimon Adventures 1 and 2, and Digimon: The Movie have a crossover with the animated Disney films and Toy Story? If so, the animated Disney villains for Digimon would've included Captain Hook from Peter Pan, Jafar from Aladdin, Emperor Zurg from Toy Story 2, Hades from Hercules, Ursula from The Little Mermaid, and Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.
Greetings! Am I supposed to know who Rene Astle is? I’m bad with names
The second part of your request wasn’t exactly phrased like a question, so this is a reminder that I take requests, not demands :) but I do thank you for the suggestions to make this a little easier!
This is an interesting one, indeed!
Digimon Adventure Meets Disney/Pixar
Honestly, this might’ve taken the turn of “worlds collide” rather than your classic Disney Channel crossover episode in which the logic doesn’t really add up, but it’s our favorite characters meeting so who cares?
That might’ve been a vague Kingdom Hearts reference, but I haven’t played the games and read like 1 volume of some manga series, so I can’t actually tell xD
Naturally, the kids think at first that the villains in question are Digimon or something, like how else do you explain the weird Darth Vader-esque robot coming after them?
Then Izzy realizes that something happened and the Digital World and another dimension (or six, depending on what you think about the separation of the Disneyverse, or possible lack thereof) have collided
This takes a sort of Dark Masters arc turn, but the kids are prepared since this isn’t their first rodeo
They sort of try to split up to divide and conquer considering what the villains’ specialties are
Captain Hook and Ursula are the seafaring villains, so obviously they send Joe on that one. But they overheard Hook saying something about fairies, so Mimi came along for the ride, too. And Cody came with since he’s got Submarimon, which is helpful for reconnaissance.
Since you asked specifically for the movie and 01/02, Tri has not happened as of yet, so unfortunately, Rosemon and Vikemon do not make an appearance. BUT THAT’S FINE. I think.
Knowing Disney villains, Hook and Ursula probably don’t exactly get along, so they’re “separated”, but Flotsam and Jetsam are keeping an eye on Hook just in case.
So Ursula sees right away when Zudomon and Lillymon attack... but not much else, because Submarimon disabled her little spy system ;) [EXCELLENT WORK, CODY, WE LOVE YOU]
Ursula tries to come to her ally’s aid, only to see that, naturally, the pirates were not prepared for a giant viking turtle and his flower fairy companion, so they’re all knocked out. Joe’s trying to steer the ship, and I think we all know what happened when Prince Eric did that >w>
Team Seafarer hath succeeded in their goal.
Arguably, Jafar might be the smartest of all the villains in this crossover (I have NOT seen Maleficent, don’t get on my case, but YES, I do consider her quite genius as well, I mean---literally laid in wait for 16 years just to put a girl to sleep THAT’S DEDICATION) so Izzy, of course, has to go take care of that. Ken was a genius because of the Dark Spores, but... he’s smart, too. So he comes along. And T.K.’s a little shit, like Aladdin was, so naturally he insists on coming along. (Also because he’s a smooth talker.)
Part of the plan was letting themselves get captured.
T.K. smooth talked Jafar into believing he would join his side, and Jafar had heard from a restrained Gennai (poor Gennai didn’t deserve it) that T.K. had one of the hella powerful Crests, so who was he to doubt this boy?
He’s so easily wooed by promises of power.
Jafar greatly underestimated the power of Digivolving, so as soon as T.K. got Patamon up to MagnaAngemon, he was able to free Izzy and Ken. Jafar, of course, had the genie-ish powers and tried to magic himself away, but when you’ve got MegaKabuterimon and Stingmon around, you start to get squeamish of giant bugs.
Also, electricity-based powers used on a guy who hadn’t really encountered electricity before? Pretty powerful.
I’ve never seen T.K. so excited to give a fist bump to Ken.
3 down, 3 to go.
Hades had the terrifying fire thing going on (plus his amazing wit), and Maleficent had the fire-breathing dragon. So of course the fire kids were sent after them. Tai, Sora, and Davis had some interesting team potential, let me tell ya.
Davis is annoying. We all know this. But so is Tai. So basically, the Goggle Boys are sent in to annoy the two big bads. And since Hades has the shortest temper of all the villains involved in this crossover... well.
Then they sic MetalGreymon and Flamedramon on his ass, naturally. He’s not really able to hold back two fiery Digimon with just his own firepower, so... yeah. Ass kicked.
He starts regretting not bringing the Titans.
Maleficent tries to take off and escape in her dragon form, but she didn’t count on Sora and Garudamon to come after her. What a magnificent, phoenix-y plot twist.
Nobody ever expects the giant phoenix. So Sora and Garudamon kick some ass, too, as they should.
Tai and Davis both try to say a really witty line to wrap it all up, and Sora ends up saying the wittier one. As she should.
Theirs was somewhat the easiest fight, but also the most amusing.
That leaves Matt, Kari, and Yolei to deal with Emperor Zurg. And, well, this one gets a little confusing.
Well, first, for some reason Matt dresses up like Luke Skywalker.
Yeah, that’s right, they’re doing this.
Basically, they pull a Last Jedi on Zurg, but without Palpatine. Somehow, Zurg falls for it. But I mean, he’s basically a human-sized toy, so I guess that’s not a surprise?
There was no lightsaber battle, though, which was a bummer. Instead, Kari and Yolei send in Silphymon and Weregarurumon to kick his butt and finish the job.
Not gonna lie, he was the easiest one to take down, mostly by sheer virtue of being a toy. But also because he somehow fell for the Luke Skywalker bit.
Matt won’t get out of the outfit now, why did we give him this power.
With Gennai’s help and Izzy/Ken/Yolei’s genius techno capabilities, they were able to send the villains back to their respective movies, where their usual nemeses were able to take care of them. Because for some reason, they didn’t show up and I lowkey forgot to even include them in any capacity because of how much brainpower the villain encounters cost me.
Until next time I guess xD

Non-sequitura Disney in-depth analysis (after making a tier list)
Warning: SUPER longform. If you don’t know a movie well, you should skip the summary. I tried to be light on spoilers, but they’re there.
I went chronologically from favorite to least favorite. So S tier is, in order from fave to least fave, The Incredibles, WALL-E, then Zootopia.
S tier (Something I consider high quality AND a movie I greatly enjoy. I would love more Disney movies be like this.)
The Incredibles - one of my favorite movies of all time, possibly THE favorite. Rockin social commentary, epic action scenes, memorable characters, not a minute of screentime wasted, great take on the Fantastic Four, hilarious parts for both adults and children, an interesting villain, etc.
WALL-E - I love how social commentary was done here. Also skies above, what a beautiful love story. Really blazed a trail in non-verbal storytelling (especially given it was an animated kids film!) Robot animations are particularly delightful.
Zootopia - another social message delivered excellently and entertainingly. I love Judy and her persistence, I love the expressiveness of the faces and the epic city setting. I love Judy and Nick's banter. This movie deserves to be remembered longer than it has been so far. Admittedly, not one of my fave villains, which makes it my least favorite of the Ss.
A tier (either super high quality or something I greatly enjoy and deem of at least reasonably good quality)
Mulan - this movie did everything right. Truly feminist protagonist, an icon for strong Asian women, fairly culturally accurate (tho Mushu confuses me), GORGEOUS and iconic music. Lets a relatively natural romance develop. I frickin love the action scenes, I love the emporer. Sadly, this movie just didn't lodge its way in my heart as well as Pixar did. Pixar just has some magic, yo.
Cinderella - my gosh what an underrated protagonist. Her family straight-up abuses her and she never loses sight of her goals for a better life. Iconic visuals helped bring Disney out of bankruptcy. A gorgeous alto singing voice.
Wreck-it Ralph - alright alright ppl don’t crucify me for this. I honestly can’t think of much wrong with this movie. Vanellope and Ralph’s vitriolic best buds relationship is adorable, her forgiveness of him is heartwarming and (relatively) deserved, rockin’ Owl City song, epic visuals that mix together bc of all the different games. ALSO ONE OF THE BEST DISNEY VILLAINS NO CAP. One of the only twist villains I like. And we stan the romantic pairing.
Tangled - I’ve talked about this a lot, but Rapunzel deserved the whole world after what she’s gone through. That being said, Gothel is not some shallow monster she needs to escape from, but an intelligent, well-defined monster with backstory. I could totally see this story happening if the world of Tangled existed. Epic love story, hilarious dialogue. Music is… good but much of it is less memorable to me. Visuals are good but not quite at the level/creativity of many other disney films.
The Lion King - they really put Hamlet in Africa and pulled it off lol. But in all seriousness, no one took the premise of this film seriously at the time and it became sooo iconic. I love Scar and his eventual downfall, I love how Simba grows emotionally, I love the sad moments that don’t overpower the overall feeling of light goofiness. And music so memorable it was one of the first Disney musicals.
Coco - not a super unique story premise. But an incredible culture to explore with such creativity and sensitivity. I love the themes of death not being the worst and music being so central to the story. Twist/twist villain was memorable and not expected. And yeah, it did make me cry, so props there.
Ratatouille - the most recently watched of these films for me. This movie is soooo unique! Back when Pixar was truly super out there with their concepts. Super Parisian visuals and soundtrack. It somehow starts goofy (THE OLD LADY TRIES TO KILL REMY WITH A SHOTGUN WHILE WEARING A GAS MASK) but really drives home the message that you can truly do what you want regardless of who you are. Colette can get it. And the monologue by Ego at the end is one of my favorites in film.
Frozen - Anna is one of my favorite Disney protagonists. She’s so resilient and loyal. Elsa ain’t bad either but she experiences… less character development. The film is a tad too pleased with its own self-awareness for my taste, but there’s no denying how iconic the music and visuals were.
Inside Out - Alright, this movie hits home for me bc I tried to run away after moving. A super thoughtful, heartfelt depiction of (potentially depression? imo) with great moments of humor. Riley’s inner world is so creative and lovely. Also realistic depictions of Minnesota/California culture.
Tarzan - Jane! is! smart! and! adorable! Her scientific curiosity makes her very endearing. it’s so cute to see her and Tarzan learn from each other. Also Tarzan’s “found mother” is epic. Solid score. Solid film all around. To quote Lily Orchard, “This film is what Pocahontas tried to be.”
B tier (one of my favorites but has a few significant flaws that bring it down (or not quite as memorable to me, but consider good quality))
Peter Pan - Haven’t seen it in a hot sec, but I remember being super charmed by this as a kid. Just going out, having incredible adventures, and returning to a warm home at the end of the day. Tinker Bell is hilarious and beautifully drawn. Gets major negative points for the depiction of Native Americans tho.
Big Hero 6 - I was super charmed by the protagonist, his family/friends, and the setting. The plot/villain’s motivations are a bit of a mess, though.
Princess and the Frog - This movie has so much flavor to it! The visuals/music are lovely and unique. Tiana is incredible but it’s kinda annoying how EVERYONE keeps trying to shoehorn her into romance. The thing is, her goals are entirely reasonable. Focus on her restaurant, then look to settle down. But they’re like “nooo you’re ignoring the important things in life” smh. Also, epic villain, woohoo! The movie dragged significantly for me when they were in the bayou. Charlotte is delightful.
Winnie the Pooh - don’t remember it super well, but I think it was charming and occasionally dark, which is an addictive concoction.
The Little Mermaid - MAN ppl roast Ariel way more than she deserves. Visually, it was… fine. idk. This movie is good. I don’t have much else to say about it.
Snow White - the one that started it all. Visually, super impressive. Musically, lovely. I find the romance a bit… off. Well, more than a bit. What is it with Disney and kissing sleeping people?
Alice in Wonderland - a nerdy acid trip. Right up my alley! I also like films where ppl go on incredible adventures and return to the status quo, but THEY changed bc of it. Epic. SUUUUPER creative visual interpretation of Carroll’s book. Brave - gosh I loooove films where a parent and child learn to understand each other. Never got why ppl hated this movie so much. The Scottish flavor is present and fun. Merida made one mistake and made it up. The arrow scene is iconic.
Cars - a fun ride! (hahaha puns.) We love seeing Paul Newman as a car.
B-minus tier? (same as B, but problematic, or weaker story-wise.)
Hunchback - man… settings-wise, this film might be my favorite. I also love Esmeralda and Quasimodo as characters and as a duo (though the sexualized depiction of Romani ppl is not epic.) I also don’t find the discrimination against Esmeralda/Quasimodo jarring bc it matches the time period. Frollo is super interesting as a villain. The gargoyles are… def not necessary. Basically, this film doesn’t know what it’s doing with tone.
Sleeping Beauty - Aurora was my favorite when I was younger because I thought she was the prettiest, and that still defines how i feel about this, basically. Visually lovely - everything is kind of elongated and gothic. Maleficent is spiteful and epic. I have no issue with the fluffier parts of the movie, like the music or the fairies. RIP for lack of consent being a plot point, though.
Hercules - Megara is incredible. one of the only Disney “princesses” who acts like an adult and has cynicism as a major part of her personality. I love her and Herc’s progression where she learns to trust him (yes, he is genuinely that sincere, it’s not a front.) Muses are unique, whoever came up with them was high on something and I’m living for it. I just think the plot itself was somewhat unrealistic/ weirdly-paced. There are some memorable songs, some less-than-memorable songs. Art style is cool but I’m personally not a fan. EXTREMELY inaccurate depictions of the original Greek gods.
C tier (entertaining, but I don't consider it a great movie)
Bolt - I watched this like 11 years ago. It was fun! A cool concept about those put on a pedestal learning their worth even without celebrity boosting them up. Animation was… fine I think. not super memorable to me.
Frozen 2 - They really took any scrap of character development Elsa had in the first movie, threw it in the garbage and set it on fire. Anna deserved so much better. Songs are bombastic and impressive, have the occasional interesting lyric, but are really weirdly placed and none are quite as iconic as the first movie’s (except Aurora, she does great work here. Also the song Anna sings after she thinks Elsa died.)
Not a big fan of the vaguely homeopathic theme. Not a big fan of Olaf’s WEIRD character development. Not a big fan of the suuuuuper awkward dialogue and the animations that imply not only that Kristoff is into his reindeer but that Elsa and Anna are into each other (if you’re questioning if they did that, yes, they did, I can find screenshots of some really weird expressions/moments. THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO PANDER TO YOUR WEIRD FANS, DISNEY.)
The voice actors did great work, the animators did great work (look at the details on their clothes! Look at how Elsa’s posture changes to be more confident! look at how they're animated while they're singing!) Some weird costume/makeup choices that make Elsa look like an aging starlet, but she also has some gorgeous moments so eh. It’s a wash for me.
They really did not know what to do with Kristoff this movie, huh. The only thing that happened to him was singing a cheesy 90s ballad and marrying Anna, both of which were admittedly epic. Also, the trolls got 0 appearances despite being literally psychic. Probably could have helped with a lot. I'm not a huge fan of lore/worldbuilding, and thee was a lot of it here. Overall neutral on it.
Also a big theme in this movie I don’t love - **** TANGIBLE CONSEQUENCES TO OUR ACTIONS!!! The danger is Elsa’s death, the elements, colonialism, and Arendelle literally being destroyed. None of those end up playing out, so I was left at the end going “this film had literally no stakes.”
Monsters U - same as above - entertaining at the time! Not super memorable. The ppl we were supposed to dislike kept switching. Doesn’t really match the canon of Monsters Inc (I thought they were supposed to have known each other since childhood so why did they meet in college?)
Cars 3 - so apparently, everyone HATED this movie! Fun! I never watched Cars 2 (yes watched Cars 1 if you haven’t been paying attention to this list), but I didn’t think this movie was bad at all. Well-acted, some fun chase scenes, the scene where Lightning fails at driving in the simulation is genuinely hilarious, and some interesting perspectives on teachers getting the spotlight for their skills for once.
Incredibles 2 - I liked this film at first, but then it was… just okay in retrospect. I love me some good family dynamics. The plot here makes not a lot of sense. THEY BUILT UP THE UNDERMINER FOR NOTHING AND THEN FORGOT ABOUT HIM. I was surprised by the villain swap, but it happened so last minute I never really understood their motivations even after they explained them. Tried to tackle waaaay too many messages.
D tier (I didn't enjoy these or consider them mediocre)
Finding Dory - Maybe I should have put this higher? Like C tier at least. Ah well. Wasn’t a huge fan of the body/physical comedy (not my thing), but it was entertaining and awww finding family is heartwarming.
Finding Nemo - I remember nothing about this movie.
E tier (this film has significant problems)
Beauty and the Beast - *sigh*… I want to love this movie. The score is gorgeous. Visually, they could have made it more distinctly Rococo-era France but didn’t (why?) The voice actors did good work and I think Paige O’Hara is SUPER underrated here.
The Beast is emotionally manipulative with an awful temper that (for MOST of the movie. He doesn’t change.) That’s the main reason this is in E tier. This movie shaped so many generations of people thinking they can change the behavior of someone who treats them badly through the power of love. But you can’t. She learns to “love” the beast under coercion. It’s not Stockholm syndrome - it’s a trashy romance novel. Big fan of Gaston as a villain. He’s an archetype ppl can recognize and it’s so satisfying to hate him.
F tier (I think this film actively harms the industry and would rather it not have been made. Both the one in E tier could be considered harmful to the industry, but I think they had significant enough artistic accomplishments to scrape above that. I'm also generally a fan of "lack of censorship bc it's better to teach what not to do.")
Pocahontas - this movie took real historical events and romanticized them AND sexualized one of the only Native princesses they’ve had. Boo. Nothing wrong with animation!Pocahontas as a character, it’s just people put her in a story that doesn’t represent history well at all (and these historical events, unlike those in say, 14th-century Germany, had super relevant effects on people alive today.) And they portrayed the Native Americans and colonial settlers as equally in the wrong. (though I like Governor Radcliffe as a potential villain and love the line “see how I glitter.” I can’t NOT laugh when I hear it.) Lovely music, though. Nice animation, but the colors are weirdly… muted?
Bad Garbage (I don't wish this film had never been made, but I wish I never had to see it.)
Planes - this movie was ridiculous. I remember not much about it except that I kinda hated it and that it was super cheesy with tension one could see right through that immediately resolved itself via one twist or another.
Haven’t seen tier: Recess, A Bug’s Life, A Goofy Movie, DuckTakes Movie, Lilo and Stitch, Pinocchio (actually i have seen this but I remember nothing about it), The Nightmare before Christmas, Toy Stories 1, 2, and 3, Up, 101 Dalmatians, The Great Mouse Detective, Cars 2, Moana, The Good Dinosaur, Pete’s Dragon, Fantasia, Peter Pan Return to Neverland, Fantasia 2000, The Black Cauldron (read the book, though!), Bambi (or I did and remember nothing about it), The Rescuersm, The Rescuers Down Under, Planes Fire and Rescue, Bambi 2, The Fox & the Found, Oliver and Company, Atlantis, Treasure Planet (I want to, though), Piglet’s Big Movie, The Jungle Book, the Emporer’s New Groove, The Jungle Book 2, Chicken Little, Brother Bear, The Three Caballeros, Pooh’s Heffalump Movie, Dumbo, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, Aladdin (seen parts but never the whole thing), Strange Magic, The Sword in the Stone, James and the Giant Peach, Frankenweenie, Lady and the Tramp, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Doug’s 1st Movie, Monsters Inc. (want to, though), Meet the Robinsons, Dinosaur, The Aristocats, Robin Hood, The Tigger Movie, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, that pooh movie at the end without the title on it

beauty and the beast enchanted christmas just because im nostalgic. it’s bad and corny and cheesy and not NEARLY as good as the Best Disney Movie Ever Made but the villain and its motives are actually very good and belle and the cute lil angel’s song about christmas is also good shut up
the lion king 2 is just Very Good. it misses the good animation of the first one but 1) im biased bc the lion king is my favorite and 2) the songs are very good and its clever they took it from another shakespeare tragedy and i really like vitani and nuka. the only Sad is that theres no nala and simba is kind of hmmmmm a dick but the rest is very good
does the buzz lightyear movie count??? yes it does and its good
lady and the tramp 2 is miles better than the original and this is a hill i’m willing to die on. source: the backyard gang is very dope and their song fucking GOOD and angel is CUTE

cinderella 2 but only the final segment with the stepsister and the baker. its adorable and good and well written and i cry everytime. the rest is garbage. but also theres a britney-like pop remix of bibbidi bobbidi boo and it unironically slaps
the 102 dalmatians movie and 101 dalmatians II are Very Good. theres not anything else to say theyre just good. i think i watched them more than the original asdng
...........yes the lion king 1/2 is good. i HATE the scenes where they shit on the original movie but its very VERY funny. you’re now singing dig a tunnel
bambi 2 is very cute and bambi’s dad make kids question if theyre furries the same way lion king 2 did with kovu ansdfmsnag
cinderella 3 is just good. it just is. radiates chaotic energy and i stan

The First Drawing to post for this New Decade, and it's the Best of the Movies that I've seen in the Cinemas, and one I've heard of for a while. So here are some Favorite Characters of mine that were fun to Draw, along with the Reviews for the Films.
Missing Link - My First movie to see in the Cinemas of this Year, and it's another Laika Classic, and despite being a Box Office flop, It did receive some very Good Reviews from Critics, and even my Foodtown Boss' Grandchildren saw the Film on a Thursday(?) and they Loved it, so I figured I give this film a watch, and I was amazed at the Final result, An Amazing sight to see that some Folks out there don't know what their Missing. It was directed by Chris Butler, who was co-Director of Laika's other projects 'ParaNorman', and it had an Amazing cast such as Mr. Zach Galifianakis (Felix of 'Bob's Burgers' & Lego Joker of 'the Lego Batman Movie'), Zoe Saldana(Avatar, Gaurdians of the Galaxy), & Hugh Jackman (Van Helsing & Wolverine of the live-Action 'X-Men' films). And once again, the Folks of Laika really did some good Work & Commitment in Making this Film, especially when I loved the Film's settings & Landscaping, and the Action Sequences are Phenomenal, especially in those Action sequences when the Ship rotates with the People in it when it was Struck with the Storm's Big Wave, and How Suspenseful it was when the Characters are dangled into Ice blocks or big icicles, and how shocking on how the Villains' defeat of Lord Piggot-Dunceby, his neurotic right-hand man Mr. Collick, and Bounty Hunter Willard Stenk were killed in Cold Blood, cuz I knew that that Ice Bridge in the Film was gonna Break in a Sequence. Plus there were some Cute Humor in the Film as well, especially after when Mr. Link/Susan Roared at a Dog during a Bar Fight, and after a Moment of Silence, the Dog just attacked on of his Men and the Bar Fight continues (that's when most kids in the Auditorium laughed at that part), and how Susan literally thrown some Objects over the Wall. And I'm always fascinated with Cryptozoology creatures such as Bigfoot, Abominable Snowmen, & the Loch Ness Monster, even when they make me think about that 1970's film entitled 'the Mysterious Monsters'. And even if the film was Distributed by United Artists (a Subsidiary of MGM I suppose), it's kinda Weird now now that it was released on DVD and Blu-Ray from 20th Century Fox, even after Disney's Conquest, but can we still call ML a Non-Disney film, even if some MGM films are being released by FOX under a Contract?
Godzilla: King of the Monsters - Well me and my dad certainly love Giant Monster movies when we were Young, and I certainly remember renting every Godzilla movie on VHS back when Blockbuster was still around, and we certainly enjoyed that one 2014 'Godzilla' movie, unlike the 1998 Matthew Broderick one, so we decided to give this new kaiju movie 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters' a viewing pleasure, not to be confused with the 1956 Americanized 'Gojira' movie starring Raymond Burr. And i gotta say that it was an Epic Thrill-ride of our Lives, even the monsters we were familiar with were Amazing, Godzilla being all greatly Huge and Buffed-up as always in the USA, Rodan looking a-little Sinister lookin', Mothra playing out like the original 'Mothra' movie, starting off as a larva hatching from her Egg, then Evolving into a beautiful Butterfly-like Moth, then King Ghidorah was so Menacing in this one, and being like Lizzie in 'Rampage', he was such a "Pain-in-the-Ass" character, even once being Nicknamed 'Monster Zero', either that Nickname was also used in Japan, or used for one of Ghidorah's old film appearances in the US, that was double-billed with 'War of the Gargantuas'. I even like how they referenced some stuff from Warner Bros. & Legendary Films' 'Kong: Skull Island', as that films along with the 2014 Godzilla, and this Film are all in the same Universe, Monsterverse that is. And how surprising that there are other Kaijus in this Movie that I'm not even certainly familiar about, like that one Arachnid-like featured titan, or the Giant Ape Body/Mammoth Trunk beast, or another Muto(?), and I am wondering if the Demolished Boston at the end of the movie is gonna be the new 'Monster Island'. The human characters were good, I mostly like every member on the character Dr. Mark Russell's team, they seem likable, and the Cast was great, even after looking at the film's Poster befor we went inside the theater, I saw the familiar name of Thomas Middleditch, the same man who did voices in 'Captain Underpants' & 'Bob's Burgers', doing a Live-action role, and while writing this review, I've discovered some other actress who starred in this film include Sally Hawkins, who starred in the previous 2014 Godzilla movie, and also in Guillermo del Toro's 'the Shape of Water, and the woman playing the daughter in this film, also played in 'Stranger Things' as Eleven. And also I love on how the film as a Newer Version of Godzilla's approach-like film that was used in the old films, and even the end Credits have Cover version of Blue Oyester Cult's classic hit 'Godzilla'. And one of the Film's story plot is Fascinating, like how this Earth was once ruled by Giant Titans, until us small Humans have taken over while most of those Titans went Extinct and hiding in the Earth's Spirit.
The Secret Life of Pets 2 - Well, Illumination has done it again, as it Amuses me once before with 'the Grinch', 'Despicable Me 2', 'the Secret Life of Pets', & 'Sing', they have released a Sequel to my Favorite Secret Life of Pets movie that I saw in theaters back in 2016, and now have it on DVD. And when I heard that the Original voice for Max got replaced with a Guy I know of who has a Great Career in Animation, I was like "Whuuut?", but even after reading what Happened to that one Guy, i figured I'd give this Movie a Watch, since I'll like Patton even more. And I gotta say, this Sequel does have some Cute and Lovable moments in the Film, and those Subplots in the Film are Wonderful, leading up to a Story on how to save a White Tiger cub from a Wicked Ringmaster (voiced by Funny voice man, Mr. Nick Kroll(Sausage Party, Sing, Captain Underpants). And Snowball is more luvable in this one as he is in the first Film (Kevin Hart is so Wonderful!), even teaming up with a Cute/Funny character such as Daisy, a Shih Tzu voiced by Tiffany Haddish (who just did a guest voice role in 'Bob's Burgers'). Also with a Cute story on how Max & Duke's owner fall in Love with a Fun Gentleman and have a Kid together, and I love how the Dogs raised the Boy up, by helping him to Crawl & walk, and have Good Animal Instincts, which makes me think that what if my Sister & her Husband had a Pet Puppy that could be a good a Good Companion to my Little Layla niece. And some of the Parts in the Film have Good humor in it, like did I just heard a Cow say "Rat Turd" in front of an auditorium full of Young children? Plus Mr. Harrison Ford(Han Solo in 'Star Wars' & Indiana Jones) was great as a character named Rooster, who tries to Man/Brave up Max and a few characters, after Max has devoted his Life to Little Liam, which led to the Funny Collar on his head. And I'd figured there was something Familiar about that Young Lamb Cotton's voice in the Movie, as he is voiced by Mr. Sean Giambrone, the voice of Jeff in 'Clarence' & Shermy in the 'Adventure Time' series Finale.
Abominable - Well, Dreamworks has done it again, a new film from a Creative Team was made and about to be released soon, and when I saw the Previews of it for the First time, I thought I wasn't too interested in it, especially with the humorous Blueberry gag parts. But after a while, and see that if it looked cuter as Dreamworks' previous film 'Home(2015)', I thought I give it a go, and hopefully it look way better than that one Weird-Looking film in 1995 called 'to catch a Yeti' starring Meatloaf. But for the 'Abominable' film, since the Movie was getting Good Feedback from Reviewers and Viewers, I was Lucky to watch the Film for myself. The Characters were Cute and Funny, almost like the ones from 'Home', especially with Ethnic Protagonists. And the settings and Designs of Asia in the Open Fields, Forests, and Cities are really nice, wishing I could visit and/or live there. And the Great story is like an E.T. Extra Terrestrial thing, expect that the Heroes goes with the Creatures on an Adventure of a lifetime to bring back the Creature to his Beloved Family that they Tried to protect from any threats what's-so-ever. And there are some Amazing plot Twist among the Villainous Characters, like just when you thought the villain was actually an elderly Man who has been hunting Mythical creatures for rewards, but it turns out that the True Villain was actually a Nerdy Woman who thought was a seemingly-gentle Scientist just doing what's right for the World, who almost Barely looks like a geeky version of Kari McKeen of Disney/Pixar's 'the Incredibles', and when she let down her Hair, she may look like a Devious version of Merida of Disney/Pixar's 'Brave'. The Effects in the Movie is Super Nice & Super Awesome, especially in the Yeti's Humming effects, some Action Sequences, and that one moment when the Heroine's Father's Violin broke, the Yeti fixes it by using his own Hair for the String replacements, and I know from that Moment, with Yi's Musical skills and the Yeti's Powers combined, and when the Hearts are Full, and the Heavens are listening, Magic is bound to happen. And for the one other part when the Heroes are Gazing into the Stars, they say that the Stars could be our Ancestors watching over us, and that if we don't see any Stars in the Sky, there will be always there for us, almost like even if for some Folks lost their Love ones, they will always be there, even if we can't see them. But I'm glad i enjoyed the Movie, and I know that some Tween kid group enjoyed it as well, laughing at some Funny Parts in which i enjoyed, sometimes with the Woofing Snakes, "WOOF, there it is, WOOF, there it is".
the Addams Family - Well, a another Fantastic new Animated feature has been made, and it's based off of what I remember from my Childhood, cuz I do remember watching the early 1990's Live-Action movies of the Creepy Family starrring Christopher Lloyd and Christina Ricci, before I knew who some of the Actors were, and I remember the Animated Hanna-Barbera Kooky series on Cartoon Network a while back, even making a Spooky Guest appearance in 'the New Scooby-Doo Movies', but I haven't watched much of their old Ookie Live-action series, and the Family I'm talking about is 'the Addams Family'. And I've read a while back that an Animated CGI feature is gonna be released soon, and I knew back there that that would be interesting for me to see, so I've waited several months for the to be released in Cinemas, and I finally got a chance to do so. It was a Fun and Entertaining movie, and surprising it was made Directed and made by the same team who did the 2016 R-rated Animated film 'Sausage Party' starring Seth Rogan & Kristen Wiig, and the Character designs for the Film were to be based off the old design from the Original Addams Family comics in the old days, and with modern help from Mr. Craig Kellman(Hotel Transylvania, Madagascar). And the voice cast is amazing, we got Mr. Nick Kroll(Captain Underpants) voicing Uncle Fester, Chloe Grace Moretz(Kick-Ass) as Wednesday Addams, Finn Wilfhard(IT, "Beep, Beep, Richie") as Pugsley Addams, Charlize Theron(Kubo and the Two Strings) as Morticia Addams, Bette Midler(Hocus Pocus) as Grandmama, Snoop Dogg as Cousin Itt, Elsie Fisher(Despicable Me) as Parker Needler, even the film's co-director Mr. Conrad Vernon as Lurch ("YYYOOOOOOUUUUUUU RRRAAAAANNNGGGG?!", LOL!!!), a priest that presides over Gomez and Mortica's wedding, the spirit that haunted the abandoned asylum that Gomez and Morticia move into (who often threatened them to get out, much to the family's delight, which i find those Parts to be entirely Hilarious, even in the Theater's Booming Stereo), and Dr. Flambe, a Devil-like relative of the Addams family with fire-like abilities. And the Film's Story is very cute, even with the Film's Opening Scenes on the Origin story of the Addams Family and their "Creative Differences" with other Societies, and it gives me some Good comparisons with Sony's 'Hotel Transylvania' as Creepy Creatures who have lived through the Centuries and Years soon get into Modern times and how other people dealt with Beings like the Monsters of HT and the Addams Family and their Clan. And it would be nice if my Parents were watching the Film with me in the Theaters, cuz during the Film's Ending, me and the people in the Auditorium got a chance to sing-along with the Film's Theme Song, and everyone was Snapping their Fingers to the tune. So If you wanna celebrate Halloween in a Great and Wonderful way, I think that this film is for you, and for all you Goth, Emo, and Young-at-Heart Artists out their who would love a Creepy Treat, and just can't wait to get it on DVD. Klaus - To come clear, I've heard about this movie, and I've even seen some Pencil Tests of it way back then, but I've actually never seen the whole thing, or catch it in a Selected Theater, but I really did see the Film's Trailer. And I would say for a 2D, Hand-Drawn, Frame-by-Frame, Animated feature, these people tried to Improve something for the Classic Animation with their Coloring and Shading type Technique, and even though It's a wonderful Improvement, I wouldn't expect some folks to use this kind of thing more often for Future Celmated Features. As for the Voice cast, I already know who Mr. J.K. Simmons is, but I was surprised to read that the voice man for Mr. Jesper Johansson, is also the guy who played the Villianous Gideon Graves of 'Scott Pilgrim vs. the World' movie.
And sorry if I didn't catch 'IT: Chapter 2' like I did with the first one, But I'm hoping o see some more clips of it online. And I Never had interest in seeing the 2019 'Child's Play', though I still like Ms. Aubrey Plaza & Mr. Mark Hamill. And I had no interest in seeing 'the Angry Birds Movie 2' since I'm never a Big Fan of Thurop Van Orman's creativity. And lastly, I didn't felt like seeing the 'Spies in Disguise' movie ever since Disney's Horrible Conquest of the whole 20th Century Fox media.

Tangled: The Series Q&A with Kait.
This is a recapitulation from today’s (September 14, 2019) Questions and Answers session with Kait on the Tangled Discord Server.
Tumblr media
Q: Which Disney princesses outside of Tangled the series can you see Varian being friends with? Nonfranchise ones included.
A: I think Belle is the first one who comes to mind!! She’s super studious and goes against the grain…not to mention her father is an inventor who’s a little off-base! 🙂 I think he’d be super comfortable experimenting with Belle and her dad and reading awesome stories! (Maybe even sharing the Tales of Flynn Rider with her! …Assuming she hasn’t read it! Haha. ) He could also eat ham sandwiches with Anna. Sorry. Second thought. Lol!!
Q: So Kait, as a storyboard artist on the show what kind of little details, quirks or creative touches did you or any other artists put into Varian scenes you or others storyboarded?
A: Ha!! Any acting scene with Varian I had…I pretty much based off of Anna Lencioni (my best friend/ another board artist on the show.) Anna makes these very specific expressions and she gestures to herself a lot and closes her eyes and creases her brows and says things like “A-huh! Actually…” or “Um!!” Before making a point and it’s always reminded me of him.
She kept a “flynnolium” prop from Halloween with green goo in a vial in her cubicle at work so long it grew mold. She said she was studying it. She found scrap metal in her boot one day. She has a basement lab for her experiments and crafts. She befriended two raccoons at her last apartment. She is the most accident-prone person with freckles I’ve ever met…she’s pretty much him.
Jeremy Jordan’s reads give you so much to work with…and I love that character so much I feel a natural sort of understanding of how he might say something or do something…but Anna would always do these specifically Anna things that I had to use for Varian.
Q: Do you have any specific advice for aspiring storyboard artists or people who aspire to work in animation?
A: Gestural drawings help you learn to draw fast…which is a very important part of storyboarding. I would say storyboarding‘ s biggest requirements are clarity and speed. Lots of productions have different requirements in terms of what they look for from story artists. Tangled‘s leadership cared a lot about drawing skill, animation, layout, etc. because it more strongly informed the animation studio to have those things. The show I’m working on now (Monsters at Work) is a 3D show…so for our production, the emphasis is more on story and speed. We pitch ideas more than we pitch drawings…so clarity is important and acting is too, but we’re far less precious about tying down drawings and animating since we shift into the 3D production pipeline after story. The boards are still very important…but the more technical aspects are a *little* less so. The focus is just more on story and character and what the board artists can bring to their scenes.
So I’d say just practice drawing…maybe try and give someone a prompt or ask a friend for one. Choose a theme! Maybe vampires? What’s the worst thing that could happen to a vampire? What’s the best thing? What’s the funniest thing? What if they were also an alien? Or fused with a werewolf? Or chained to one? What would happen? Giving yourself a starting point for an idea will inspire you to explore all the possibilities for humor, drama, etc. in that idea. If you’re struggling to give yourself a prompt, try looking online…or maybe choosing a song you like or a passage from a book for inspiration.
There’s also this really fun thing you can do to study cinematography and shot composition called a “three tone” exercise. Basically…put on your favorite (live action) film, grab a sketchbook, grab a black and grey marker, and use the white of the page for your third tone. What you wanna do is (as you’re watching or while pausing) sketch a small thumbnail using only three grey tones of what you see on the screen. Draw the shot- where the characters are, try and duplicate the lighting…it teaches you a lot! 🙂 (Phew!)
Q: Do you have any fun non-spoiler head canons about Varian?
A: I think his favorite dessert is apple pie and I think he bakes recreationally very often! He’s probably a good cook. (Though he may have one or two minor accidents……a burnt thing here and there. Minor oil splatters….haha!!)
Q: What’ve been your favorite episodes, both to storyboard and in general? Of course, no specifics if it’s S3
A: Haha! Well…What The Hair and Queen for A Day have special places in my heart because they were such big moments for my favorite character…(Varian, haha.) But I’d say the episodes I had the most fun boarding are all in season 3!!! Which is exciting! I have to start compiling some work to post! 🙂 I think the episode I had the most fun with is one you guys will really enjoy.
Q: Will we get some interesting surprises (In Season 3)?
A: Without any spoilers- absolutely!! The show is always full of those.
Q: So We’ve heard many fans express why they love Varian as a charcter before, I’d love to know what drew you and Anna to Varian as well and why you guys personally found him to be a great character.
A: When Shane Prigmore originally pitched the character to me, he was much younger. He was like 11 or so, I think? Maybe 12? He’s still pretty young…but what Shane said was that he wanted him to go from this wide-eyed kid to this dark, angry person whose bangs fell over those wide, bright eyes…just full of rage. That idea was super interesting to me…it just hit on something in character development that I felt like I’d never exactly seen before? He was so young and it was such an interesting idea to me to make a child the villain and to give that child a strong reason to be angry? It felt like it was taking this child very seriously, which I appreciate. It felt very real and very dark.
The thing that threw me through a loop but also evolved my fascination with the character was Jeremy Jordan’s casting. I listened to a lot of the auditions they had for various actors and I had seen a ton of Shane’s concept art of the character…a lot of them were VERY different than what we have now. One version Ricky Roxburgh (writer) contributed to had Varian cast as an adult in the story. But when I heard Jeremy I felt like I totally understood who Varian really was.
He was a well-intentioned disaster with unchecked emotions. That. Is me! Haha!! I see myself in his imperfections, his emotionality in spite of his creative and often intellectual thinking. He wants to ascend to these levels he may not be ready to ascend to…he feels this need to prove himself and seek validation. I don’t know, I guess I relate to that! And I’m just a sucker for good guys gone bad. The other half of this, of course, is that he’s very charming and cute and super reminds me of my best friend, Anna Lencioni.
Q: Which character do you most like seeing interacting with Varian?
A: It’s a little spoilery for me to reveal that……..but I think you guys are gonna know when it happens! Haha!
I can’t wait to post THOSE boards
That’s actually right out of the episode I think I liked boarding the most, haha.
Q: If there was one prop (furniture, object, the like) from the Tangled series that could be made real and you could keep, what would it be..?
A: I think it’d have to be those little alchemy orbs that Varian throws? They just suddenly clean the whole castle hallway somehow and like…could use me some of that. He also has the one that removes stains from tablecloths, so. I’m sloppy. That’d be a big help. Haha!
Also his staff is pretty cool 😉, I boarded/created that staff…David Lee (prop designer) did its final design…haha
Q: I have a question about a scene in season 1. When Varian got back the first part of the scroll he mentioned that it took him a while to translate it. Has he really been able to read it or has it been a bluff?
A: Varian can indeed translate what’s on the scroll. 😉
Q: Do you have any networking advice for those trying to get into the animation industry?
A: Post your work!! Make it easily accessible, tag it well, just show what you’ve got online! Upload boards, animatics, drawings, etc. Creating an online presence can really help put your name out there. Apply for internships, jobs. I know it’s hard to network because a lot of industry professionals don’t have time to answer specific questions or give portfolio reviews…so it’s sort of important to take some initiative on that and be self-motivated.
For me, I studied the portfolios of Disney feature story artists, CalArts students, etc. and tried to structure the presentation of my work based on that. Also, it helped me get a sense of what pieces of work would best showcase where I was trying to go and what I was trying to do. I’d ask yourself those questions as you develop a portfolio and artistic voice online! 🙂
My first feature job after a trainee program in New York at Blue Sky happened because Doug Sweetland (Pixar animator, feature director, awesome dude) found my work online and liked it. He just reached out based on that!
Shane Prigmore actually reached out to me for Tangled similarly.
Q: Besides Varian, do you have a favorite character that you’ve boarded?
A: I always love Eugene. He’s the second character I think I’m most like. His acting was really fun to play with and I felt like I could push his expressions a lot because he’s so funny. I loved boarding Lance too (I boarded a lot of Lance in S3!!) but MAN was he hard to draw, haha! His face shape is just really hard to draw at certain angles.
Q: With Varian cosplay that is going on, what Disney character would you like to see Varian dress up as next?
A: Jack Skellington! Halloween is afoot. Jack is another well-intentioned disaster. Guess I have a type!
Q: What’s Varian’s opinion on raccoons, are they his favourite animal?
A: I imagine it’s because Ruddiger is always finding interesting things in the trash and giving them to Varian to use in his experiments. Also, they’re fat and cute.
Q: There’s a bit of an argument going on over how many freckles Varian has. Can you confirm how many he has?
A: Ha!!! Yes…one second… 14!!
Q: How big do you think Corona is? Like Vatican City small or Arendelle big?
A: You know, with the wall and all, it actually feels a little on the smaller side to me? I’m sure there’s a little bit of discrepancy between the movie’s version of Corona and our version…but based on where we went within Corona on the show, I’d say it feels on the smaller side.
Q: Are there any non-spoiler Varian scenes or moments that didn’t make the cut that you can share?
A: MAN. Yes. There is one scene that changed after I rolled off the episode and I’m very sad about it. I’ll post it after the episode airs! There was also a line of Varian’s that I boarded to a specific read from Jeremy Jordan and that read was not chosen in editorial later so…I’ll post that one too, haha!
Q: What is your favourite song from the first two seasons so far?
A: All my favorite songs are in season threeeeee…hahahaha!! I think Let Me Make You Proud or the Buddy Song are my favorites. Buddy Song still gets stuck in my head now and then.
Q: What do you think Varian would order at a drive-thru? Specifically at chipotle 😂
A: Chipotle isn’t a drive thru!! Hahaha He’d get the kid’s quesadilla from chipotle. I think Varian is a fries/chips kind of person…something to snack on while he works! He probably also likes milkshakes.
Q: (Continuation from the question above) Chocolate or vanilla?
A: He’d revolutionize by combining them both. FOR SCIENCE!
Q: What is, in your opinion, the most challenging part of varian’s design to draw?
A: His goggles, hahaha. Or just his…hair in general.
Well it’s funny too because when you board these guys, you get used to doing a shorthand for them and then when you go to draw them FOR REAL you realize how complicated that actually is and how wrong your shorthand actually was? Hahahaha
Q: is Varian ticklish at all?
A: I feel like Varian, Eugene, and Lance are all equally ticklish. To the point of absurdity. Cass would fight it as long as she could…but when it finally got to her, she’d laugh uncontrollably. Rapunzel, she’s the TICKLER.
Q: What do you think Varian opinion and belief on magic is now that he’s seen it with his own eyes?
A: I imagine that he certainly believes in it now and no longer underestimates its powers…but I imagine he’s ultimately more comfortable staying in his own lane and working with worldly properties!
Q: If Varian would have been able to meet Demanitus…how would their conversation had looked like?
A: I feel like Varian would have had a TON of questions about his legendary device and whether or not he truly traveled dimensions.
Q: Did Varian have any other friends in old Corona before he met rapunzel?
A: Probably not many…he’s a bit of a hermit. I think Ruddiger is his best friend……. It’s sad but I also think that’s kind of why it hurt so bad when Rapunzel wasn’t able to help him. Also why he was SO excited to have Rapunzel, Cass, and Eugene come visit.
I think the village looked at Varian as a little unstable or worrisome. I’m sure everyone knew he was very nice…but they were likely very unnerved by his inventions.
Q: Do you think Varian ever tried to synthesise gold or the elixir of life like a real alchemist?
A: I’ve wondered that myself!! I think his alchemy has proven to be more about other people…helping others, making people proud. Maybe if someone he cared about was in need.
Q: If you were to meet Varian in real life, what would you say to him?
A: What elixir did you make to get THAT kind of volume? His hair’s so POOFY! Honestly, I’d probably just give him a hug.
Q: How much does Varian know or remember about his mom?
A: I’d say about as much as the photo of her on the wall.
Q: Is there spoiler about his hair streak? Or is it just by design?
A: It’s totally by design. I think it’s safe to assume it’s probably the result of some lab accident!
Q: In what ways is Jeremy Jordan like Varian?
A: I don’t know Jeremy Jordan personally, haha! But I think a lot of these inflections he adds to Varian sort of off the cuff probably come very naturally to him. I know he often wants to do his own pass at the musical arrangement Alan Menken writes…like he’ll want to do something a little different, in his own way, and it will change the song completely!! In an awesome way. That’s a little Varian-esque. In the “Let Me Make You Proud” reprise…Alan Menken had sung that “they are going to pay…they…will…pay” all in a low, downward tone. Jeremy wanted to scream it and make it powerful and angry and loud when he said “PAY” and you could just hear the spite in his voice for the “they will pay.” Genius!
Q: What was the most shocking moment/revelation of the series to you (minus anything season 3)?
A: It’s hard to say because I knew most of what was going to happen long, long ago. I think one of the things that made me go “oh dang!” was something Tom Canfield boarded. It’s that part in Destinies Collide where Lance slices the entire statue down the middle with a sword. What a BAMF!
Q: What were your thoughts on the early concept of Varian having an apple orchard and being a farm kid instead of a young alchemist?
A: He still kinda has those things! Quirin is a farmer as well as the village leader and there are apples on their little farm estate! 🙂 I think that makes Varian very unassuming as a mad little scientist. I’m sure that’s how (Ruddiger and Varian) met! Remember, he used his purple tacky goo stuff to catch raccoons so they wouldn’t eat the crops! And Ruddiger’s favorite snack is apples. 😉
Q: What is his official height and weight?
A: Smol.
Q: How did you guys come up with Varian’s name? And was there any other name suggestions for him before the name ‘Varian’ was chosen?
A: I’m not sure who came up with that name, actually! I’m sure it has something to do with the meaning of the word “variant” which means something that varies, changes in form.
Q: What’s his last name?
A: His last name!! I have NO idea and it bothers me!!! A Disney magazine referred to Varian, Ruddiger, and Quirin as “The Ruddiger Family” and I still haven’t stopped laughing about that.
Q: What sad Disney movie moments would make him cry?
A: Oof. Lion King.
Q: What musicals do think Varian would enjoy?
A: Little Shop of Horrors! I think he’d see himself in Seymour! Or Wicked…you know, that villain arc.
Q: How did Arianna and Fred meet?
A: I actually don’t know off the top of my head!
Q: Would Varian enjoy rollercoasters?
A: I think he’d enjoy how they’re MADE and then scream his head off while riding one, throw up his cotton candy and corndog, and go play carnival games instead. Then get mad that they’re rigged.
Q: So what comes next for you now that the series is almost over? Any big plans?
A: Well the series wrapped for production a while ago! I’ve been on another show for almost a year now! 🙂 I’m working on the new Disney+ show Monsters at Work as a director! It’s an awesome, awesome show…totally next-level…I’m shocked that I’m getting to be apart of something like this. It’s a direct sequel to the movie that serves as an office comedy (a la The Office, Parks and Rec) and has so many characters that fit immediately into the Monsters Inc world. Monsters Inc is my favorite Pixar movie…so I literally come to work and leave work on the same high! It’s an awesome, awesome show with a great crew! 🙂 It’s also just really exciting to be apart of the first original animated property for D+!
Q: How would you compare working as a director to working as a storyboard artist?
A: It’s hard work, just as hard, but in a different way! For me personally, I’m a little easily fatigued by drawing? I get a little creatively frustrated because my thoughts move quicker than my hand. Or because I don’t always feel like I can execute in a drawing what I’m thinking in the way that I want? Part of that is just being an artist…and it’s not ALL the time that I feel that way…but I think I have a certain stamina for drawing that I found challenging to increase.
Directing is just different! It has a lot more to do with managing a team, communication, coordinating, listening, speaking up, problem-solving, being very aware of story as it applies to ALL parts of a production. I don’t draw as often anymore. You have to consider a lot more…more people, more constraints, more difficulties, more opinions, more solutions…it’s just MORE. And you also still have to draw! 🙂 It’s very busy work, but it’s AMAZING and I love it. I feel like I’m contributing to animated storytelling a lot more in this role, actually. I love working with people, I love workshopping, and I love helping! I’m also just spoiled to be working with some great people right now. It’s a blast.
Q: Are any Tangled: The Series crew joining you on that show?
A: Yes!! Tom Caufield and Wendy Sullivan were on it for a minute, but they’ve both moved on to Dreamworks recently! James Suhr (board artist), Isabelle Gedigk (season 3 board artist), Naomi Hicks and Casey Coffey (revisionists), David Lee (props), Ricky Roxburgh (writer), and I are all working together again! It’s awesome.
Q: Does Varian, deep down, blame himself for the amber?
A: I believe he does.
Q: How do you deal with artist’s block?
A: I try to think about the intention behind what I’m doing. Why is the scene I’m working on very important to the story? If it feels unimportant or boring, how can I make it interesting? What can I do on my end to make it more inspiring or fun without going too far off the rails and still serving the scene’s purpose?
If it’s not work-related, I try and start with some fan art or something familiar for me to draw. I have a lot of scribbly Varians in the margins of a lot of my sketch documents. I use him as a warm-up a lot. It helps build my confidence to draw something familiar/ that I think I can draw pretty well.
Q: What’s the hardest scene you’ve ever had to board?
A: Oh God. ANYTHING with action. I’m not an action gal. Lots of stuff in S3. I was board partners with Wendy Sullivan and ended up getting a lot of action to board even though she’s WAY better at it than me!! It was an interesting challenge…but it was very, very challenging. Ben (Co-EP) was a great mentor to me in the scene I did for the mid season. He was very patient with me, despite my shortcomings as an action board artist, haha. I enjoy boarding for comedy much more.
Kait: Anyways, I should probably head off now! Thank you guys so much for all the questions!!!! You’re awesome! I hope you’re all super excited for S3! It’s a great one.

Surprise (not really)! More Squad and Disney Movies Headcanons!
(because if I don’t do something to take my mind off of the impending Legacy release then I will lose every last one of my marbles)
still haven’t begun to think about the Disney Pixar movies BUT THAT IS A DILEMMA FOR ANOTHER TIME
behold...the squad delving deeper into Disney
(And yes, we will finally be getting to some of the newer releases)
Sophie actually cackles when she pulls The Emperor’s New Groove out of the sack (”oh this is gonna be GREAT”)
Keefe I M M E D I A T E L Y stans Ysma (”she’s like Cruela de Vil but like....even more disastrous and funny. sign me up”)
“I think this has to be the funniest, most chaotic Disney movie ever” Dex says as Cuzco and Pacha have to walk themselves up that canyon and then suffer the waterfall
there isn’t a single dry eye in the house during that scene where Cuzco and Ysma are talking to Kronk and just barely avoiding each other--they are all ON THE FLOOR, LAUGHING THEIR ASSES OFF (they are laughing so hard they cry hence no dry eyes)
Everyone gasps in horror when Ysma insults Kronk’s spinach puffs (”why do I like this himbo villain more than the good guys” Marella mutters as she watches Angel Kronk and Devil Kronk manifest again on his shoulders)
Everyone agrees to save that movie to rewatch when they’re having a really bad day and need a pick-me-up
Marella picks Lilo & Stitch one day (”what is this blue thingy supposed to be? A bear? A dog?”)
When Lilo is losing her mind over not being able to give Pudge food, Fitz, Biana, Linh, Tam, Dex, and Marella all look at each other, then look at Keefe, then smirk (”What are you guys looking at me for?” “nothing!”)
Sophie shouldn’t be, but still is surprised when she can understand the Hawaiian language (she remembers teaching Amy all the Hawaiian words when they were little and how they had no meaning, just sound, and it’s weird for her to reconcile)
Later on in the movie, Fitz, Biana, Linh, Tam, Dex, and Marella suddenly realize, “Oh...” and glance at Sophie when Stitch is talking about family to the aliens and being sad that he was made for killing
Sophie and Keefe remain blissfully unaware, although both of them get lumps in their throats all throughout the movie and try to pretend they don’t
Linh and Biana are in tears holding each other by the end
Biana picks Princess & the Frog (”it says princess on it and I’m beyond caring what you ripplefluffheads think about my movie choices”)
When Tiana and her mother leave the Beauregard mansion and then pull up in a neighborhood full of shacks, everyone gets very confused and indignant and Sophie has to pause and try to explain American Racial Inequality for the next fifteen minutes (all of her friends look disgusted)
“Okay but I love him” Biana insists when Prince Naveen is introduced to the screen, strumming his guitar
“Pffff, I’ve kissed worse” Keefe mutters when he thinks no one will hear him when Tiana is freaking out over trying to kiss frog Naveen (Linh does hear, though, and has to hide her face in a pillow to muffle her giggles)
“Hell yes who is this woman she is me” Marella insists when Mama Odie makes her way onto the screen
Everyone is outraged by the fate of Ray until they see him up there with Evangeline
Fitz picks Tangled next because he finds it amusing that there’s a horse brandishing a sword menacingly on the cover
Sophie gets mad nostalgia (it used to be her favorite--her human mom used to point out how Sophie had long blonde hair and big brown eyes like Rapunzel when they watched it as a family)
When Flynn Rider pops up on screen, Tam mutters “oh great, another Keefe-sona”
Sophie sees Keefe gritting his teeth and clenching his fists while watching Mother Gothel, and Sophie gently lays her hand over his without looking at him and squeezes reassuringly
Linh loves Pascal and Biana loves Maximus (“Imagine Silveny with him,” Fitz says to Sophie, and she snorts)
Tam would never ever admit it but he thinks Flynn Rider is super cool
Sophie and Keefe are sitting next to each other during this movie and they get super tense and feel super awkward when Rapunzel and Flynn start singing “I See the Light” and they don’t know why (but they swear it has to do with how all the rest of the group are smirking at them)
“Disney movies are just...great,” Biana says, grinning at the end of the movie
They all get up and dance to Something That I Want by Grace Potter in the credits
And then the day comes.....the fateful day.......when someone picks up Frozen
(It’s Tam. Sophie never lets him forget it.)
Sophie decides to sit back and watch her friends watch the movie instead of concentrating on the movie herself...she is not disappointed
Linh is quiet while she watches Elsa grow up afraid of her powers
Tam puts a reassuring arm over her shoulders (Sophie hears her whisper “I could have had it so much worse” to him)
“wow I wish I could find someone perfect for me as quickly as Anna found Hans” Biana jokes during “Love Is An Open Door” (Keefe says nothing, squinting at Hans like he’s missing something but doesn’t know what)
“Can we rewind it and listen to that again?” Fitz asks after Elsa sings “Let It Go”....Sophie smiles through gritted teeth and does it (all the while thinking “dear god they hooked the elves too”)
They make her rewind it two more times
“WHY ARE THERE SO MANY KEEFESONAS IN DISNEY” Tam thunders after adult Kristoff and Sven come on screen
They have to pause the movie while the rest of them roar with laughter
“Is it bad that I don’t really like this snow guy” Marella murmurs when Olaf joins Anna and crew
Sophie relishes watching every single friend’s jaw drop when Hans says “Oh Anna...if only there was someone out there who loved you”
(All except Keefe, who just nods and is like “NOW it makes sense”)
“That one was really good! It might be a favorite, right? Sophie? ....Sophie?”
“Okay so maybe not a favorite, mainly because Foster looks like she’s about to have a stroke”
Dex picks Big Hero 6 the next week because he’s intrigued by the robot-looking entity on the cover
“not to be that person but Tadashi Hamada can get it” Marella says when Tadashi picks up Hiro from the bot fight (Sophie hides her face in her hands)
Dex says “Oh look it’s my mom” when Aunt Cass picks them up from the police station
When Hiro is presenting his microbots, Dex whips out his project notebook and absently grabs Sophie’s hand with his left hand and starts writing and sketching furiously
Marella is Big Upset over the fate of Tadashi
Fitz secretly relates to Wasabi hardcore
Keefe thinks Fred is hilarious (and even Tam is like “okay even Keefe isn’t that wacky”)
Biana loves Honey Lemon, and Sophie jokes that Biana has to decide if she’s more Honey Lemon or more Megara (the jury’s still out)
Sophie kind of regrets not showing them Marvel movies when Hiro is learning to fly with BAYMAX, only because they don’t get the Iron Man parallels--but she also knows that Marvel movies are a whole other ballgame that she’s not ready to show them yet
Frozen taught them all a lesson--never trust someone that seems trustworthy and expect huge plot twists--so they’re surprised but also not as caught off-guard with the reveal of the man in the kabuki mask
EVERYONE is crying when BAYMAX sends Hiro back through the portal with Abigail Callahan and stays behind
“I am REALLY feeling this song” Tam says as “Immortals” by Fall Out Boy plays in the credits
Linh picks Moana next and is like “I swear if this cute little pig on the cover dies or betrays everyone I am getting up and LEAVING”
“I love that chicken with my whole heart” Keefe declares as he watches Hei-Hei try to swallow a rock whole
Marella, as usual, loves the crazy old grandma figure
They love the music, especially “We Know The Way”
Keefe literally snort-laughs when Hei-Hei realizes he’s trapped on a boat in the middle of the ocean with no land in sight (and does a spot-on impression of it at the lunch table the next week)
Maui’s joke about tweeting goes over all of their heads except for Dex’s, who shares a look with Sophie and chuckles
“I’m gonna have this song stuck in my head for the rest of eternity” Fitz says during “Shiny”
Biana is like “I kind of love that she’s not the hero because of some special powers? She just felt the call of the sea to explore and she wants to do what’s right” when Moana decides to take on Te Ka on her own
They’re all choked up when Moana realizes about Te Ka and goes to her to give her her heart back
“Fam, I would not have given him a hook back, if he’d stolen my whole entire heart and let me suffer as a fire monster for ages” Marella says when Te Fiti restores Maui’s hook
“I think we can get into the Disney-PIXAR ones now!” Sophie says as the credits wrap up
“How the heck are there so many??” Fitz asks, incredulous
(To which I, the maker of these posts, wholeheartedly agree)
To be continued some more!
