Another Dp x DC prompt inspired by a Danny Phantom episode.
Identity Crisis- The episode where Danny flies through one of his parent's inventions (A dream catcher, but let's all replace that little detail with a net or a strainer) and separates into Phantom and Fenton. Fenton is glad to give up being a hero and be lazy with his friends while Phantom turns into the embodiment of a heroic archetype.
----
There was an empty, gaping chasm in him nestled somewhere between his spotty memory and the apathy that constantly settled over his brain like a weighted blanket.
He could see it in the way it felt like something was missing when he looked in the mirror.
In the way Danny enjoyed things but couldn’t list what exactly he liked.
His parents knew it too. His dad didn’t look him in the eye anymore, and his mom always made a disappointed “tsk” noise when they tested his blood to “check if his levels were going down yet” then questioned if he was using the decontamination soap. He did, even if it made his hands burn and left Danny feeling lethargic after every shower.
They moved to Gotham of all places overnight, before Danny could so much as say goodbye to his friends.
(He knew it was weird. He didn’t even remember packing his stuff—but he didn’t have to do the work so, whatever)
They locked him in the house all day as if he would go out on the streets and fight crime while they weren’t looking or something. They were being controlling freaks!
(He should probably run away. It was obvious, even to him, that he was being abused… but that sounded like a lot of effort and not all that fun, so he’d rather just stay in his comfy bed and watch tiktok. He could ignore the sounds coming from the basement until he was 18.)
Uncle Vlad would occasionally stop by to say thinly veiled threats and act all weird– once or twice asking about “Phantom” or a “core” whatever that meant. It was easier to just let Vlad send him to a rich-people school and drag him to a couple galas. At least he was actually getting out of the house.
Whatever was going on with Danny was probably something he should be concerned about. He should go to a doctor, or the police, or his obviously-a-vigilante classmate for help rather than attempting to create half-thought out inventions to solve a problem he couldn’t even describe that he inevitably would forget about in favor of watching tiktok.
According to google, the headaches, the tiredness, the dry skin, the disorientation- it all pointed toward dehydration. So, he was just overreacted anyway and should probably just drink more water.
Whatever, Doomed came out with a mobile version for phones so, he’s way more interested in that anyway.
-
Basically, Human!Danny does not remember anything to do with Phantom and he’s missing a lot of his key components.
lots of procrastinating, lots of apathy and emotions are extremely dull.
He doesn’t realize how much he misses his friends or his obsessions unless they’re directly in front of him.
I think it would be a fun writing exercise, questioning how Danny would act without Phantom based on the events in Identity Crisis.
-Emotional incompetence. (He’s awful at identifying how he feels about things)
-Shameless Dopamine-seeking behavior.
-Doing things without thinking of the consequences.
-A completely gray moral compass
-
Meanwhile, with Phantom—There are different levels of messed up we could take this.
After Jack and Maddie separated Phantom from Fenton, they tried their best to get their son (who, thankfully, doesn’t remember being possessed for nearly a year) to decontaminate fully by moving to Gotham, while keeping their subject in the lab so they could keep running tests on it.
Unfortunately, the ectoplasm levels in Danny’s blood aren’t going down, despite weekly tests.
Last night, Danny had a nightmare where his parents cut him open.
It was only a nightmare, of course. His parents were inventors. They specialized in making every-day objects into the shape of his dad’s face; they didn’t work in biology.
Still, the phantom pain of his mom snapping his ribcage open was too realistic, and he still didn’t have an explanation for the surgical scars he kept finding on his body.
OR
Jack and Maddie separated Phantom and Fenton and decided it was time they gave up ghost hunting for the safety of their son. So, they sold the ghost to the GIW and used the funds to move to Gotham, the city with the least amount of ambient ectoplasm in hopes to fully decontaminate their son.
Phantom is in the hands of the GIW until Fenton comes across him (probably due to Bat-related shenanigans) and instantly goes “Oh, shit. That’s my soul. I kinda need that back.”
-I’d be kinda funny if at this point the bats all know Danny as an extremely relaxed civilian who’s smart and figured out all their identities, yes, but also has zero interest in vigilantism.
-They’re going to get the “soul” thing Danny was freaking out about back Asap but they need to do a bit of reconnaissance first and–
- Oh—
-Danny’s mission-impossible-ing his way into the highly secure government base.
-and he’s, like, GOOD at it. WTF
OR
Phantom, separated from his human half, turns into Little Baby Man. And just tries his darndest as a tiny little cat-possum-snake thing to find his human half… and protect everyone he sees… and collect shiny things. Okay! It’s not his fault he keeps getting distracted!
Until!! He found his human!! Well, it wasn’t actually his human, but Phantom could tell his human had been around this human. Besides, he sure did like this human. And the human said he was cute. Which actually made him explode with happiness!!
(The Waynes adopt little Baby Man, thinking he’s just a really weird alien cat)
-
So, now for the DC part of this I’m gonna throw some ideas out there for some interactions and you can decide if you like ‘em or not. I basically just really liked the idea of Danny finding out his classmate’s/friend’s secret identity and just… being completely apathetic to it.
I really flip flopped on his Designated Gotham Bf being either Tim or Damian, bc i think both would have a really interesting dynamic with a really apathetic yet insanely smart Danny, especially if you throw in Damian adopting LBM Phantom.
You, (yes, You! The reader!) can take this as whatever Wayne child you chose and I’ll just refer to them as Robin from now on.
Each of these separated bits are just a different new way I thought an identity reveal would happen, none of them are connected.
-
*Danny, standing way too close to an active rouge attack, watching Robin and Batman fighting*: You know… that guy throwing around the stylized R’s around looks kinda like that cute guy from physics.
Goon, currently trying to take Danny hostage: Yeah, whatever kid.
-
Robin: Hey, so, I know the school is under attack right now, but I really need something from my locker so–
Danny *The new kid who so far has only slept in class*: Dude, I know you’re Robin. It’s, like, really obvious. Just go, I’ll cover for you.
-
(while Fenton would not be inclined to help in a rouge attack, he still has the overconfidence of a super-powered being and some of the instincts that were ingrained into him after hundreds of fights)
Robin: Hey, Kid-I-don’t-know! This is an active gunfight! You should run!
Danny: Don’t worry Robin, there are no civilians around! I have time to wait around so when you’re done kicking ass we can get back to our group project. *thumbs up*
-
Robin: B, this is my friend, Danny. Please be nice to him.
Danny: Hey Batman. Rad.
Bruce: Hrm
Robin: *spluttering* Pfft- Bruce- Bruce isn’t Batman! Haha! What makes you think that?
Danny:
Danny: Wait– We’re friends?
-
Robin *very angsty moment*: Danny, I’m sorry. I only befriended you because I thought your parents were shady and wanted to investigate. The truth is… I’m Robin.
Danny *This is a total shock to him. He had no idea. He should probably react appropriately*: If I had a nickel for every time I dated a vigilante’s civilian identity I would have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice, right?
Robin: Are you seriously quoting Phineas and Ferb right now??
Robin: Wait– which vigilante have you dated before?
Robin: Danny? You can’t just leave me hanging, Danny.
Robin: Was it superboy? Because- Danny! I’m way cooler than superboy
—
Alternatively, consider the shift in dynamics when Danny is back “complete” and can finally feel regular emotions again.
Like shame, for example.
Robin: Hey :)
Danny: *Remembers anything he did as LBM and calmly moves to the floor so he can curl up and die of embarrassment*
Robin: ??? Are you okay?
-
Robin *bats his pretty eyes*: So? You and Phantom are finally back together again. How do you feel?
Danny *hasn’t noticed his Paulina-level attraction or Sam-level crush on Robin before*: Bisexual.
-
Misc:
Phantom: *growling at a mirror and repeatedly trying to attack it*
Robin: Yeah, we don’t really know what it is, but it’s cute.
Robin: This is weird, He doesn’t usually warm up to people so quickly. Usually he’s really protective.
Danny *completely calmly*: Oh, yeah. That's probably because it’s my soul.
-
Bruce: Listen, I know you like my son-
Danny: Woah, hold on. Yeah, Robin is pretty great. Dopamine goes brrr around him, but I don’t have a crush on him or anything.
Bruce: *gestures to Robin on the other side of the room, where Phantom is repeatedly giving Robin butterfly kisses and nuzzling into him*
Danny: ooh.
--
Anyway! if you're at all inspired by this and write something the only requirement is that you have to tell me so I can read it too :) otherwise, go crazy!

LMK analysis rant: Mei
I said I was gonna do this and I'm keeping to my word! The only thing that may stop me is my procrastinating... and the fic I'm slowly writing but uhhhhh-
ANYWAY- We're here to talk about Mei, our favourite white horse dragon pepper girl!
Mei stands out as the most different from her inspiration, something the writers perfectly portray in the yellow-robed demon episode of s4, which is likely to do with how little they had to go off of. Despite being one of the pilgrims in jttw, Ao Lie dose very little in the novel. His most notable chapters being when he's introduced and when the group faces the yellow-robed demon, which is why we met him in that memory in the scroll. Combined with my belief that Mei isn't a reincarnation of Ao Lie -- just his descendent -- means that Mei is one of the most unique characters in the entire show.
There's just less source material for her to draw from, it let's the writers have more fun and do more things. It's not that they don't make the others characters unique -- they like to play very fast and loose with things over all -- but Mei feel like her own complete and original character. She's inspired by Ao Lie in the same way Mk is inspired by Monkie King basically and she all the better for it.
Being the female lead (isn't it interesting how most of the female characters in this show are villans?), Mei is a refreshingly strong, confident girl who begins the show as the most powerful cast member. Being a descendent of the great dragon gives her amazing powers that no other cast members have, a birth right that leads to her being the most protective of her friends and the first to help out in any fight.
What she has in power, however, she lacks in experience. Mei has no mentor -- other than her parents, but I believe its safe to assume they weren't very focused on teaching her combat -- which leads her to trust her gut more, rush into things and learn through observation, like when she mimics what her great x1000 uncle did in s3.
Overall Mei is an excitable, energetic and loving person with a "You only live once" kinda attitude, for lack of a better explanation. Even still, she has her own insecurities and flaws which make her all the more interesting. Due to the shows run time, Mei and many of the other main characters don't really get explored as much as Mk, however what we do see of these struggles and fears is incredibly interesting even on a surface level.
Her tendency to rush head first into danger without first examining the situation or creating a plan, truthfully, tends to work out for her, but it can't always. It's something shown perfectly in s4, when Mei is the only member of the group to not get a star from Master Subohdi, however what a lot of people seem to miss is how Mei actually did earn that star eventually.
When they leave the temple and head to the celestial realm to try and stop Azure, Mei leads them there with no plan at all. As such, they fail and need to be saved by Mk. Faced with proof of Subohdi's criticism, Mei makes the more important amendment to Mk's plan in the s4 special. I don't think we've even seen Mei make a serious plan until this point, which feeds back in to another one of her flaws: being unable to take things seriously.
This isn't something I see said about Mei often, but when watching her character I think it's externally obvious. Don't get me wrong, Mei can be serious, but usually only in moments of vulnerability or high stress. For example: when talking with her pearents, after she gained the Samahdi fire and whilst imprisoned by the Yellow-robed demon.
I think this flaw is Mei's own version of Mk playing dumb. They both behave this way to lessen the emotional impact of serious things, to protect themselves and help those around them deal with trauma or difficult topics. Mei and Mk really are two sides of the same coin and I'd love for them to do more with that in the show.
Going back to Mei's parents, one of her biggest struggles is reconciling who she is with who she's meant to be. She is a noble dragon, a descendent of the great dragon of the West Sea and practically the successor to Ao Lie. It's a lot to live up to and -- evident in episode 3 of season 1; Welcome home -- she doesn't believe she dose.
Mei is confident in her abilities, she's sure of her strength and quick to help those around her, but in the face of her legacy she stands uncertain. It's another thing her and Mk have in common, though in vastly different flavours, and it's interesting how this legacy colours Mei as a character.
She wields the dragon blade, proving herself as a worthy part of her family and gaining the approval of her parents, however the stark difference between her and the rest of her clan is more blatant than ever. We see this perfectly in season 3 when they visit the great Dragon of the East Sea, Mei being put into fancy clothes she instantly ruins in order to have a place to hold her sword. She fights against her uncle, fights against her family, because she knows they'll never understand her. But even still, she knows she's still one of them and she's so proud to be.
Becoming the vessel of the Samahdi fire is only more proof of Mei's legacy and connection to her family. It gives her a moment of pure vulnerability where she vents her frustrations and fears before rushing away, wanting nothing more than to protect the people she cares about.
When Red Son finds her she's still serious, but even with just a basic understanding of the fire within her Mei falls back to her normal nature; a silly excitable girl not taking things seriously. We see this after Red Son attacks her with the spears and when she's eating later on, but even if her attitude doesn't show it, she's still listening and taking the training seriously. She just needs to be silly so she won't freak out again.
Since we're on the topic of the Samahdi fire, I think most people can agree that the way it was handled post s3 was very poor. With only one mention of it in s4, by Master Subohdi no less, I assumed that the fire had been resealed, this time correctly. Something that dangerous should be locked up, even if a capable wielder is around. It would also prevent power creep and stop the show from having another Wukong predicament, by which I mean a character so powerful they need to find a way to prevent them from trivialising whatever threat they have to face in the plot. Wukong will get his own post soon don't you worry...
Instead, we learn in s5 that Mei still has the fire, she just kinda forgot? She learned to fully master it when breaking out of LBDs mech, so since the fire was no longer a raging uncontrollable inferno she just didn't realise it was still there... for an entire season. Yeah it feels lazy and honestly is probably the worse written choice the show has even made. Even still, it dose lead to a very interesting and in character moment for Mei.
When attempting to seal the willow wisp with Red Son, Mei loses her confidence, believing that she lost the Samahdi fire and thinking she's lacking. Mk getting Monkie Kings powers was one thing, but the rest of her friends now having cool weapons and magic? If their all so strong and only getting stronger, then what's the point in Mei? She was the strongest but now she might be the weakest, and that terrifies her cause if she's weak she can't protect people. How can she act when she's powerless to do so?
This dilemma is quickly resolved by Red Son telling her she's had the fire the whole time, amending it's use to Mei's lightning motif she's had since s1 -- I know fire benders in ATLA use lighting but come on -- and basically saying she's been using the fire the whole time. It takes away from Mei's whole struggle to be honest, but I do think there's potential for her to relearn this now tamed Samahdi fire so she can better use it. Just depends if the show wants to do that...
Moving on from my thinly veiled complaints about season 5 (I like it I swear but it is the weakest seasons to me so far), let's talk about Mei's role in the group a bit. Aside from being the token girl, she's also Mk's best friend and the only other character his age and acts around the same age as the shows target audience. Mk's the main character and leader, Tang is the lazy historian smart guy, Sandy the loveable giant, Pigsy the cynical brute and Mei's youthful and silly power house.
I would love to go into some narrative tropes, specifically the 5 man band since jttw is one of the primary bases of the trope, but I've realised I have far too many thoughts about that to fit here. This is the 21sh paragraph and I'm sure at least some of this is a mess, but I hope I'm getting my point across! Overall, Mei is an extremely compelling character how often gets side-lined due to run time and other stuff, but is honestly one of my favourite characters in the show.

PDA with high support needs and Intermittent Explosive Disorder
PDA isn't diagnosed in this country but I think it's a huge underlying reason on why I'm so disabled, why I can't put my stim and sensory accessories down for 5 minutes to brush my own teeth and take care of things myself. Brushing my own teeth for example often leads to crying episodes and I hurt myself brushing, not to mention it takes 10 minutes compared to 2 cause I procrastinate. Changing my own diaper almost always leads to fecal smearing or stimming by ripping up a wet diaper getting SAP everywhere. I can eat my own food a lot of the time but sometimes I need consistent verbal encouragement and literal handholding, like my mom will clasp my hand that doesn't haven a fork in it and say things like "come on sweety you can do it just a little more" so I can get a meal down. If I'm super sad and depressed, not as much these days, we found out that its best if I'm just fed or drink a lot of meal replacement.
Intermittent Explosive Disorder however is what I'm diagnosed with and if I don't have my PDA need met then I have intense violent outbursts directed at me or parents or occasionally friends. I'm honestly lucky I have weak EDS arms and my parents are tough cookies and my friends literally get hit for fun in mosh pits. I feel awful about it but if I seriously injured someone I would feel so terrible about it I don't know what I'd do. Hitting myself is more common and I'm more at risk that way. Only a few years ago did I realize that guilt associated with PDA made my episodes worse, like if my only physical disability is EDS I feel so awful and shameful when I can't do these things for myself it becomes a negative feedback loop that no one wants to be a part of. When I let that guilt go I'm so much calmer and have more "PDA Free" moments where I do tasks for myself. Brushing my teeth myself in the bathroom with the door closed with a parent right outside for not even the full length of time is a HUGE victory for me. I'll never get to the point of independence I'm sure of it but I'll have around 1 night a week where I'll do it and maybe take care of some other stuff and holy fuck I'm so proud of myself I've come so far. The problem is I reach PDA burnout so fast that the next day its like square one. I am Sysuphus and the needs are my boulder that will NEVER reach the top (independence) but I'll go back and climb it every day for another "small" victory.
Guanfacine and Adderall help but its not the be all end all, just shout out to my meds too because it wasn't just releasing the guilt that helped so much, I really needed both.

So, I didn’t make any art for Odaiba day because I’m a procrastinator, but I thought I’d tell my story of how I got into Digimon because I think it’s kinda funny and personally I like reading stuff like that so I thought at least one person might get a kick out of it.
Obviously gonna put this below the cut because it's a lil long
I had very very passing awareness of digimon before getting into it, like I knew Agumon but didn’t know its name, and I watched part of a random episode as a kid and didn’t like that they talked for some reason, and that’s as far as my knowledge went. But I had a friend who really liked digimon and really wanted me to get into it.
My first real experience was that friend showing me episode 4 of adventure and I was very alarmed that Biyomon was a digimon and not a Chocobo like I thought.
The episode didn’t really sell the series to me, so I didn’t touch the franchise for another couple of years. I gained more passing knowledge through my friend and loved random digimon I thought were funny, mostly Togemon and Bakemon which I lovingly referred to as the “punching cactus” and “teethy ghost”, respectively.
Cut to my friend finds a V-pet at our local game store, so I bought one too because I always wanted a Tomogachi and thought it’d be fun to make our guys fight.
I loved my little guy! I thought little pixel Pagumon and Garurumon were so cute but had no idea what they actually looked like!
Later still, I had an itch to play a monster collector but wasn’t interested in replaying any of the Pokémon games I already owned, so my friend offered to borrow their copy of Next Order. I thought I’d give it a shot especially since I liked some of the V-pet guys.
Oh boy was that a learning curve. The only other monster collector I played was Pokémon so digimon not being exactly like Pokémon confused my small brain. (Wait, so digimon can evolve into whatever, but they also can’t?) (They have canon evolution lines but they also don’t?) (Turuiemon was just made but Lopmon has been around forever??) (MY SWEET PUNCHING CACTUS EVOLVES INTO A WOMAN WHAT.)
Anyway I enjoyed the game but didn’t really interact with the series much, until my friend and I were bored and threw adventure on in the background because I was like “Oh I know some digimon, it’d be cute to see them animated!”
I did think adventure was cute, but didn’t give it much credit at the time. It wasn’t until we moved on to 02 and I was actively sobbing at the end of Ken’s arc that I was like “Wait what, this is actually good????” And insisted we watch every installment of the franchise.
And now we cut to modern day, I’m sitting with my same friend, sweating and violently scribbling on my tablet with a deranged look in my eye, and they’re asking if I’m drawing Ruli’s friends again.
Oh yeah, and happy Odaiba day!!!!
As always I would love to hear everyone else's stories of how they got into Digimon if you would like to share!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS
Hallo! It's the artist of this, come to bring you a surprise fanart!
Since you gave me the physical description, I wanted to draw an updated version. And since I procrastinated it to this past week, I decided to make it a Christmas gift :)
Feel free to freak out in my DMs :)
Here's the full spread, below will be some close-ups and a few comments.
When I read that John had unkempt hair, but Doe combed it back, I felt that in the possessed version (the version above) he had to have just one untameable strand sticking out the front that would refuse to be combed back. (the yellow in the bottom right is a pencil weighing down the page bc it didn't want to stay open)
This one's a little blurry, I had fun coming up with stuff to fill this page.
I had to do this pose, it's now a classic. Unfortunately I couldn't add the Dusk Ball, as in your description, bc it would've made the face area too cluttered. (and just in case you need a transcript, "Doe! We have a challenger!")
The purple turned out darker than expected, so Doe's text bubbles are difficult to read, even irl. So here's a transcript "Are you telling me you've never learned how to tie a tie?" I read that John had a clip-on bowtie while Doe had a proper tie, and came up with the above drawing.
Here's another hard to read speech bubble! It says, "It's cramped in here..." I saw the Dusk Ball repeated in the description, so I decided, Why not put Doe in there? So I did.
John and Doe are definitely theater kids. John purposely freaks others out with the whole possession schtick, and in your description, Doe is a theatrical man. Both are needlessly dramatic, and I love it. This is my favorite drawing in the whole spread. (transcript, "Alas...")
Final image! It is, ofc, the Pokemon logo. I have yet to watch/play Pokemon, but this spread has inspired me to at least watch an episode in the near future, hopefully I won't procrastinate on it.
And now for closing comments.
I loved doing this spread. As I mentioned a couple weeks ago, I've been in artblock, and fanart has gotten me out of it, so thanks for giving me the inspiration/motivation to draw!
On this spread I got to use my beloved brush pens, of which I am always looking for an excuse to use, so automatically I love these pages.
Being the creator of the drawings, I am my own worst critic. And my main strife is the large white void in the background, I like having very full pages, so white void is not ideal. Unfortunately I don't know Pokemon that well, and these are not my OCs, therefore I am missing a lot of detail you've created for them, so I simply don't know what kinds of doodles/text to fill the void with.
Anyways, I can now draw a Dusk Ball from memory.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! (and happy holidays if you don't celebrate christmas)
// Holy hell I love it! Thank you so much!//

I've had so much fun talking to you!! Here are some That 70s Show asks if you feel like answering: 1. Five favorite characters - in order! 2. Three favorite romantic ships 3. Three or four favorite family relationships/friendships 4. Five unpopular opinions you have about the series. The more unpopular, the better!
Ofc, I always feel like procrastinating on Tumblr and avoiding my real life responsibilities so here it is:
Top 5 characters:
1. Red - I am ranking him first only because I feel like he is the character that the writers ruined the least as the time went on
2. Jackie- she had the best development up until season 8
3. Hyde - same as Jackie, he was a jerk at times but had a more or less consistent character development until they flushed it down the toilet in season 8
4. Eric - definitely the most relatable character, too bad they didn't give him more ambition
5. Donna - she was my favorite when I first started watching but what the writers did with her pissed me off so much (having her not go to college and want to move into a van???)
Three romantic ships:
1. Obviously Zenmasters (Jackie and Hyde)
2. Donneric - they were my first ship in this show and I loved them until they started fighting over stupid stuff in every episode
3. Red and Kitty - they are what zenmasters would have been in another universe where they ended up married
Family relationships: I haven't really thought about it until now but I love Eric and Red's dynamic, then Eric and Laurie have a very realistic sibling bickering/ love-hate relationship, and in fact all three Forman siblings if we count Hyde have that together, that's why I enjoyed the episodes in season 2 where they were all living under one roof. And last but not least, while Midge was not great and in the end left Donna, I still liked the moments in which she offered motherly wisdom to her. It seems like the kind of relationship I would love to have with my mother where you are not scared to tell her anything. So to sum up:
1. Red and Eric
2. Eric, Laurie and Hyde
3. Midge and Donna
I will make a separate one for friendships:
1. Jackie and Donna
2. Jackie and Eric
3. All of the guys together
Hmm I am not sure if I have any about this particular show, so I will just say 5 random opinions:
1. Bob was annoying and kind of unnecessary
2. They should have kept Kelso as he was in season 1- a bit clueless about life but secretly very good at math and technology
3. Laurie is a terrible person and that's what makes her fun. There's no need to redeem or humanize her as some fans try to do.
4. People complain that Donna was ruined in the later seasons by giving up on her ambitions but no one talks about how Eric was too. They both should have gone to college. Hyde could have easily taken care of Red and the Forman house after the heart attack.
5. People that complain about the jokes on this show being offensive and having aged badly need to grow a pair.

Okay I’m STILL procrastinating watching s15 bc I’m SCARED so here’s my extremely biased ratings/opinions on the episodes of s14 to help me procrastinate (episodes which are multiple parts of a single story will be condensed into one slot)
Room Zero: SO cute and good, I LOVED the animation style, it was simple and short but really well done with great colors, fun alien designs, and fluid animation, and I just like seeing the guys go on missions like that. It's a shame that the animated show never got picked up bc I would've adored seeing more of it. 10/10
From Stumbled Beginnings: Very cute and funny origin story for Simmons and Grif, and I love that they were p much always together since they enlisted lmao makes their dynamic rlly good and the humor actually got a couple laughs out of me. 8/10
Fifty Shades of Red: Sarge's humor never quite landed with me like is has for some people (my boyfriend lmao I literally have to pause episodes sometimes so he can stop laughing. Anyway) but it was a very humorous and in character origin for him as well. 5/10
Why They’re Here: Less interesting than the previous two, obviously just meant to fill in plot "holes" and to also show us the origins of the other characters. Also I am completely ignoring that one line from Tucker in the interview, just gonna chalk it up to the "edgy" humor it does not exist to me. 4/10
The Brick Gulch Chronicles: WONDERFUL stop motion, very fun and cute and entertaining, very wholesome and still in the vibe with what the show itself is. I appreciate the willingness to do stop motion for most of it. 10/10
Red Army Unit FH57’s Adventure: It was kinda interesting and kinda funny but I found myself kinda tuning it out cuz it just felt kinda whatever. The combo of the different animation styles was cool though and I thought the ship misunderstanding them was funny. 5/10
Locus and Felix: Okay I'm gonna be a black sheep for a second and say that I rlly don't care that much about Locus and Felix. I don't think Felix is a secretly deep sadboi whom I'm gonna spend an unnecessary amount of time thinking about, I don't think Locus as secretly good all along, and I don't care that much about their partnership and what they were like before Chorus. That being said, the animation here is absolutely gorgeous, this is probably my favorite animated story in the whole season, it looks awesome. The plot is nothing special but who cares like I said it's beautiful, 6/10
Fight the Good Fight!: VERY funny and well-executed propaganda video, short and sweet and nothing more to it. It does its job. 5/10
Meta vs. Carolina: Dawn of Awesome: Another one I really don't care for because literally everything leading UP to the fight between Meta and Carolina is a waste of time. Maybe some people really care about their weapons and stats, but I don't. And even then, you kinda know Carolina is gonna win the fight, the question is just how. 4/10
Grey vs. Gray: I don't know or care about the Game Grumps and the entire thing felt like a short gag that went on for way too long with a predictable ending. 2/10
Caboose's Guide to Making Friends: Again, ADORABLE art style and very cute having a story be told from Caboose's perspective. 7/10
Head Cannon: Kinda funny I guess. I wish we'd gotten it spread out more equally among the heads Omega jumped into. Ik he didn't spend equal time in there but who cares. Whatever, still funny. 5/10
Get Bent: I LAUGHED PROBABLY THE HARDEST AT THIS ONE AND THAT'S MOSTLY BC OF LESBIAN DONUT IT CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD AND IT WAS HILARIOUS (also hello, bisexual church?) 9/10
Red vs. Blue: The Musical: it was fine. it was creative. The dancing was well animated. Enjoyable. 5/10
Mr. Red vs. Mr. Blue: I haven't seen Reservoir Dogs but Kaikaina was in this which automatically boosts it to a 8/10 (I also like that they have movie nights it's cute)
RvB Throwdown: Fine but mostly forgettable. 3/10
The Triplets Story: REALLY interesting concept (y'all know I love the freelancers) that felt like it dragged on too long and only gave Ohio something to do. 4/10
Immersion: The Warthog Flip: I loved the costumes and the actual Warthog and it got a couple laughs out of me. 5/10
Red vs. Blue vs. Rooster Teeth: This was made for the fans/themselves. As someone who is neither, none of it was funny and I just kinda waited for it to be over. At least the animation of the armor irl looked rlly good

Best Underrated Anime Group B Round 4: Tonari no Seki-kun: The Master of Killing Time vs Run with the Wind
#B7: Tonari no Seki-kun: The Master of Killing Time
Kid epicly procrastinates during class
#B5: Run with the Wind (Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru)
Amateur college track team aims for big race
Details and poll under the cut!
#B7: Tonari no Seki-kun: The Master of Killing Time
youtube
Summary:
All Rumi Yokoi wants to do is focus during school, but she is constantly distracted by Toshinari Seki, her neighboring classmate. Paying attention during class is the least of Seki's worries, as he obsesses over intricate setups created using an assortment of items, from an elaborate domino course on his desk to a treacherous war played out with shogi pieces. Yokoi desperately attempts to focus in class, only to be repeatedly sucked into his intriguing eccentricities; however, they always seem to end up with her getting in trouble with their teacher. Fortunately, lessons will never be dull with Seki's antics around!
Propaganda 1:
Seki-kun is the sort of anime that stays underrated because it seems overly simple, but it really shines in its simplicity. The episodes are short tales of Seki’s epic procrastination and they’re absurdly amusing. Both the opening and ending are super funny and really well-thought-out.
It’s the anime equivalent of a hard candy. You can have an episode at the end of the day or between tasks, and it entertains you well without asking for much.
Propaganda 2:
It is a really short anime with very short episodes but is still very entertaining, and we never hear the character whose name is in the title speak but we still get a really good feel of his personality. It’s just really funny and a lot of fun to watch.
Trigger Warnings: None
#B5: Run with the Wind (Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru)
youtube
Summary:
Former ace runner of Sendai Josei High School, Kakeru Kurahara is chased away from a convenience store for shoplifting. Shaking off his pursuer, he runs into Haiji Kiyose, another student from his university. Haiji is impressed by Kakeru's agility and persuades him to live in Chikusei-sou, the run-down apartment where Haiji resides along with eight other students. Having lost his entire apartment deposit at a mahjong parlor, Kakeru accepts the offer reluctantly.
However, Haiji reveals a secret during Kakeru's welcoming party: the apartment is actually the dormitory of the Kansei University Track Club. He unveils his ultimate goal of participating in the Hakone Ekiden—one of the most prominent university marathon relay races in Japan. Unfortunately, all the residents apart from Haiji and Kakeru are complete running novices. Worse still, none of the inhabitants are even remotely interested in being involved with Haiji's ridiculous plan! With only months before the deadline, will the fourth-year student be able to convince them otherwise and realize his elusive dream of running in the Hakone Ekiden?
Propaganda 1:
Okay so, finally a sports anime that isn’t set in high school. (There aren’t nearly enough set in college.) MC is basically Older Running Kageyama, in both looks and personality. He has to overcome his past issues with his old track team, and learn to open up. I love the relationships that form between the team members. There’s one who is just Not Here for It and struggles A Lot, who just wants to go home and read manga. (Hey it me.) There’s also a cute dog, and a lot of the bg music is by the same folks as Haikyuu.
Propaganda 2:
I genuinely think this might be the best sports anime out there. It’s an amazing anime in general, with good animation, a beautiful art show, and a great premise, though what really makes it stand out is the characters.
RWTW is a character-driven story at heart, with all the main characters given their time to shine. The main cast is very lovable, and their relationships with each other are depicted in a sweet but realistic way. The protagonist, Kakeru, goes through a great character development over the course of the show, from being a lonely outcast at the start to accepting the other team members into his heart as found family.
While I’m not a runner personally, I still found this interesting to watch, since along with the training there’s a lot of thoughtful discussion on the nature of running: what it means to run, to be a runner. There’s a very philosophical aspect to it, which makes sense considering that RWTW is actually adapted from a book. The last thing I’ll say is that as a college student myself, it’s really nice to watch an anime focused on people in college and not high school. Oh, and the soundtrack is incredible.

2023: The Year of Milestones
What a crazy year it's been, am I right? I graduated high school, and I'm now a college freshman. We got some new films that were memed a lot and made a lot of cash. The Owl House and Summer Camp Island ended. I got into some new things as well. Unikitty: Big Bright World turned 5 in January 2023, which is why I crappily edited in the milestone doodle I did for it. You can find it here because I made an ask blog for BBW. For anyone who doesn't yet know me, Unikitty and the BBW AU mean a lot to me.
Following that milestone, I realized there were more things I liked that were turning 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 that year than I thought, and those are very noteworthy digits to me. I wanted to create anniversary drawings for them in celebration. But, because I was procrastinating from them and I also had other stuff going on, I couldn't.
Instead of individual milestone drawings, I decided to compile all of them into one big tribute. For the same reasons, though, I had to delay it to January of 2024. I was aiming to have it ready to go by about New Years' Eve. But then on Christmas day, me and my brothers were surprised with a trip to California, and we left three days later.
Without further padding out, I'll talk about the things from which the characters are here partying with me, and what those things mean to me. I'll also talk about what the 5 on my hot chocolate mug means, because I'm not 5 years old, and I wasn't born on Leap Day. Here we go!
We're starting with the oldest thing featured, The Nightmare Before Christmas, which came out in 1993 and hit 30 years. Me and my family went to see it in a theater back in October of 2020, leading to me growing fascinated by it, its characters and its worldbuilding. I LOVE ME SOME COOL AND INTERESTINGLY DEVELOPED WORLDS, OKAY? THE HOLIDAY FOREST IS NO EXCEPTION! I thought of some other towns based on New Years, birthdays and Earth Day. I also thought up some backstory for Lock, Shock and Barrel because they're my favorite characters and I need more of them. Honestly, I felt like I was late to the party. Like, why hadn't I watched it sooner? But let me tell you, you can get invested in something at any time, no matter how dead its fandom is. I think the reason why TNBC stuck with me is because of its spooky-fun atmosphere. I'm not a fan of horror movies; when I go into the garage or go to pee at night, I have this subconscious fear that something's gonna jump out and slash me in two. I sleep with a nightlight on, too. But if it's clear that the spooks are non-threatening (which the Halloween Town citizens made clear in This is Halloween) and there's no graphic violence or gore anywhere, I'm all for it. After all, I enjoy both cute and dark things, and that's how I present myself. Also, I made an entry for TheITinFIT's YTP collab for TNBC in observance of its 30th anniversary, and you can watch it at the link in the replies!
Finding Nemo came out in 2003, so it's hit 20 years. Let me tell you- I was scared of this movie when I was younger. I wouldn't watch it because of the part where Marlin and Dory were sucked up by that whale, or when that pelican swallowed them (not Nigel; he's a good egg). I was also scared of that Octonauts episode where Dashi gets stuck inside a whale shark. I've always had this fear of getting swallowed by a larger being. And this is just my personal opinion, but I'm disgusted by vore. It's not for me, and it's never been. I can handle those scenes now- after all, Dory and Marlin made it out alive both times (and Dashi did, too). Later on, I had a greater appreciation for FN. Like spooky-fun stuff, another favorite, uh, aesthetic of mine is oceans and the sea. I dunno- sea animals are cool, and I've been fascinated with them since I was a kid. I had this phase where I wanted to be a marine biologist. There's just something so relaxing, but simultaneously exciting about Finding Nemo, and for that reason, it's now one of my favorites from Pixar.
I was listening to the theme song for this show while writing this. Teen Titans also premiered in 2003, and I'm kind of ashamed to admit that I was introduced to it by Teen Titans Go. In 2018, we saw Teen Titans Go To The Movies in theaters, and I followed TTG up until, like, 2021. By that point, it just wasn't enjoyable for me anymore, but I still very much enjoy the classic series. I watched it from start to finish in 2019 and got super into it, especially the HIVE Five. On Wattpad, I created a random story that was basically a blog for the HIVE. I wrote them profiles, let my followers ask them questions, and did incorrect quotes. It's deleted now, though. I was weirdly obsessed with See-More to the point where I made an OC that was his cousin, made OCs based on the other four senses, and shipped him with Scorpion (though they broke up later on). My mom printed the HIVE symbol on a black T-shirt, and it's still in my closet today. Besides them, one of my other favorite characters is Raven. Any character with a purple and black color scheme will catch my eye, but I also found her history and character traits interesting to the point where she influenced one of my favorite OCs I've made. I've got the entire Teen Titans series on DVD, including the Trouble in Tokyo movie. It was one of the first things I could say was one of my fandoms, so it's got a special place in my heart. By the way, I’d LOVE a (good) HIVE Five movie.
Another thing I absolutely ADORE that came out of 2003 was the Mario & Luigi RPG series. I mean, I've been playing games in the entire Super Mario franchise since I was young. With this series, I'd always be playing Partners in Time, Bowser's Inside Story and Dream Team on my DS, but in both games, I could never get past two parts. For PiT, I couldn't beat the Swiggler, and in BiS, I couldn't get past the Pump Works area inside Bowser. (Like, I couldn't find the Stingler, even though it was actually super easy. You know, the sparky bzzt thing that opens that one door?) Dream Team was the only game my younger self actually completed, and I think that's why it was the game I liked the most. We got Paper Jam when it came out, and though me and my brothers fought over who got to play it for a while, I played it and beat it. I REALLY started getting invested in the M&L series in 2017, when the Superstar Saga remake came out. Now, as I said earlier, big, elaborate worlds with multiple places to explore and lots of characters will have my attention! So, I was hyped to traverse the Beanbean Kingdom. I never played the original Superstar Saga because we never owned any type of Gameboy. But, I got the remake, played it, and beat both SS and Bowser's minions. One thing led to another, and I fell back down the M&L hole. I even wrote a Prince and the Pauper-like story about Prince Peasley and Red, one of my OCs, but it's also deleted now. I had the idea that the series would be a great TV show, leading to me developing an AU in which I write it like one, with my own characters and kingdoms. Some of you may be thinking that if the M&L series appeals to me, then I would enjoy Paper Mario, too. If you are, I think you might be right!
As I just said, I loved Dream Team the most, and it's still my favorite game in the series. For this occasion, I was planning on writing a post on why Dream Team was, in fact, a CLASSIC, but again- because of personal business and procrastination, I didn't. I forgot all of my points anyway. But I will say this: even with all the long tutorials, the visuals in the game are absolutely GORGEOUS. I love how well-detailed everything is. The colors were so vibrant and dream-like (just like the game title, guys!). And, the music is AWESOME. In fact, it's one of my favorite game soundtracks ever. I want more of the music with lyrics! I already wrote some for three of them! Luigi really got his time to shine, and his and Mario's brotherliness thoughout the game was just SO amazing and sweet. Luigi believes in Mario so much, and he's willing to fight alongside him, and they're unstoppable together! Also, the Pi'illos were and still are an extremely interesting concept to me, to the point where I thought up a whole Elena of Avalor-type character arc for Prince Dreambert. To me, he seems like a prince learning to rule his land in a different time after being stuck in a nightmare chunk for who knows how long. Anyways, Dream Team is amazing. I freakin' love it. Not much more needed to be said.
Hitting 15 years in 2023 is one of my all-time favorite movies ever, WALL-E! I have loved and appreciated this movie ever sense I was a literal toddler! I made a bunch of little WALL-E stories, so I’ve been writing fanfiction as early as then. I just didn’t know what that was yet. I remember pretending to be EVE and M-O, the latter of whom is my favorite character. I loved it when I was younger, but I didn’t realize just how amazing it was until I started fixating on it again in 2021. When you revisit something, you can notice lots of things you hadn’t seen before and understand why you love it and what makes it so great. Like, I came to better understand WALL-E’s story and themes, and appreciate how gorgeous it is. I watched Hello, Dolly because of WALL-E, and the parallels I noticed blew my little mind. Those old stories I wrote when I was 5 influenced that WALL-E human AU I made. I think I might bring back my gijinkas and create ones for other things with non-human characters because I miss them. I think the reason why this movie appeals to me is because WALL-E himself is fun and perky and curious (and music-loving) in a similar way to myself. And, I’m a firm believer that there’s more to life than my job. I think that because of WALL-E, I enjoy sci-fi stories and worlds just as much as fantasy stories and worlds. I’m also a sucker for stories that combine sci-fi with fantasy. I still love and appreciate WALL-E so, so, SOOO much, and it’s such a huge part of my life. Autistic WALL-E is real to me.
A movie that came out the same year as WALL-E that I also still love a lot is Ponyo. It came out in the US a year later, but I’m still including it here. Ponyo was my introduction to Studio Ghibli, and I watched it as often as I did WALL-E back in the day. Me and my brother LOVED this movie and would watch it while in in the car a lot of the time. I remember that my brother even started pretending to be a character called “Sonyo.” I think he also started liking ham. I already said how much I love oceans and fantasies! I don’t really watch a lot of anime or movies from Japan, so this was actually my first time drawing Sosuke and Ponyo. I think they came out pretty great. If it hadn’t been for this movie, though, I don’t think I would have wanted to check out Ghibli’s other films. I did watch Doraemon, Yokai Watch and some Pokémon XY Kalos Quest, so I think I still may have wanted to see other anime shows like Eizouken (which I watched all 12 episodes of). But, I’ve got Ponyo to thank for introducing me to Japanese animation as a whole, and in 2021, I watched all of Ghibli’s other movies (except for Grave of the Fireflies). I think I’ll rewatch Spirited Away and Arrietty sometime later on. I really want to see The Boy and the Heron.
There’s a good number of 10s here, by which I mean these things all came out in 2013. The earliest of these is Steven Universe, which came out in May of that year. I got into Unikitty when the last few episodes of SU were being hyped up. I remember watching a clip for Tragic Magic before YouTube slapped the For Kids thing on it, and most the comments were like, “Give us Legs From Here to Homeworld!” So later on in, like, 2019, I got curious and started watching the show from late Season 3 onwards. My first episode was Earthlings. Then, I watched the whole show from start to finish when CN did the Every Steven Ever thing before the movie came out. I watched the movie past my bedtime ‘cause it premiered on a school night. I made myself a gemsona, my brother started watching the movie and getting interested, and I watched the whole series with him including Future. Even with its flaws, and despite what people say about it, it was an enjoyable watch for us! It’s not the best thing ever because nothing is, but I’m on the side of defending it. Even with its flaws and all the shade it got thrown at it, it paved the way for lots of great things and helped so many people feel understood. This show is legendary in more ways than one, and it still has my respect.
I’ve been interested in Ever After High since it first launched in 2013. I never had any of the dolls, but I think I watched a few episodes of the series. I remember reading Shannon Hale’s books and owning some of the other toys (like a lockable diary). I was interested in Monster High as well (creepy/fun and cute style! Right up my alley!), but I mostly leaned towards Ever After High. I’d also search the web and look up information about the characters. Raven’s included here because, once again, purple and black color scheme! Yay! But it’s mainly because I remember wanting to be like her. I wanted to be a rebel, and I began calling myself one. Back then, I interpreted her as being so defiant of her prewritten destiny that she believed following it was dumb. But I’ve grown since then, and I came to realize that she isn’t like that. Far from that image, in fact. It’s such a HUGE shame what happened to EAH, but I’m glad there are still people out there who show interest in it. I currently follow someone who’s got lots of ideas for a reboot! Sign me up!
I loved lots of other games in the Super Mario franchise, like Mario Party 9 and New Super Mario Bros. for the DS. My great enjoyment of Super Mario 3D World pretty much goes hand-in-hand with Ever After High. Why, you may ask? Because of the weird crossovers I wrote. Let me explain! Hear me out! I was a well-known enthusiast for the game’s Sprixies. You know, those little fairy creatures? I even had names for the Sprixie princesses based on their colors: Greenia, Yellowlina, Bluia, Orangia, Violet, Aquamarina and Redna. (Get it? Edna, but red?) These days, I still call the purple one Violet, but I gave the rest of them other nicknames. Also, back then, I had the red one be the queen of the Sprixies even though the green one is implied to be the face of the seven. Back to the ridiculous EAH crossovers. I made Sprixie sisters for the female characters in the series. The male characters had Toad brothers. It wasn’t just canon characters, either- I also made Sprixie and Toad siblings for people’s OCs I found on the internet. I even typed up a story about the characters and their, quote-unquote, siblings. But yeah- Super Mario 3D world was ridiculously fun, the music was bouncy and catchy, and the graphics are actually really pretty. In the last worlds, whenever we didn’t have enough green stars to advance, I’d organize the Daily Green Star Hunt. Games like this are the reason why I love searching levels for treasures and trinkets as I go along, and I don’t want to advance until all is found. I’m at a point in my life where I completed SM3DW (and also Bowser’s Fury, since we got that edition) to its entirety with everything you could collect in the game. This game stands as one of my top favorites in the Mario franchise as a whole, so much so that I wanted to include it in Mario & Luigi Rewritten.
I love a lot of films from Pixar, but when I was 9, I especially loved Monsters University. The most noteworthy memory I have with it, which is also the most important one to me, is when I had my tonsils removed. By the way, that’s the only time I ever had surgery done on me. After it happened, the next three or so weeks consisted of me eating nothing but ice cream, taking nasty medicine, and messing around with an iPad on this app called Toontastic (if anyone here has heard of it, you’re a legend to me). I also rented MU out on the TV without my parents’ permission and watched it on repeat. I loved to doodle the movie’s background characters and include my doodles of them into my Toontastic cartoons. (Yeah- the app had a thing where you could draw your own characters and backdrops. Also, off-topic, but Toontastic is the reason I know about Deng Xiaoping.) Also, I shipped the frats and sororities with each other. Like, all six of each one. The RORs with the HSSs, the EEKs with the JOXs, the PNKs with Oozma Kappa. Except for Mike, whom I knew was with Celia, and Sulley, who I shipped with… Carla the Killer Claws lady? That wasn’t the best idea. Johnny x Rosie is a ship I still remember quite fondly. Like I said with WALL-E, the older you get, the more you notice why you love a film so much and what makes it good. I really appreciate MU’s message about how it’s okay to fail. And yes, it is! Because if failure wasn’t an option, you wouldn’t know how to pick yourself back up on your feet when things go wrong. Even if you don’t achieve the dreams you hope for, that doesn’t mean you’re done for and there aren’t other doors you can go through. You still matter. My brother and I made a bunch of jokes about MU when I started college. Of course, it’s not what college is actually like, but I still love it and the original Monsters Inc. If I ever see Steve Buscemi, Billy Crystal or any of the other people from this movie in real life, I’m telling them about me watching it while recovering from surgery.
I’ve always gravitated towards the Mario franchise more than the Sonic franchise. And while I have played Mario and Sonic at London 2012, I didn’t like to play anything solely Sonic except for Sonic Lost World. I know, I know- it wasn’t well-received, but that doesn’t make me any less of someone who enjoys Sonic. Back then, I loved watching cutscenes and walkthroughs of the game, and I was particularly fascinated by the Deadly Six. I can only remember looking up pictures of them and reading fics about them. But, that led me to come back to my affinity for them in 2020. I became interested in fleshing out their characters more and imagining what their pasts were like. I do that a lot when I hear people say a thing is half-baked or cookie-cutter of mediocre/bad. I also created my own Zeti characters as well. I played other Sonic games like Colors and Forces, I saw the movies, and I thought up my Mobian characters. Also, I watched Snapcube’s SA2 fandub. I was there to witness Eggman go on the moon. I’d love to branch out to more Sonic stuff, so if anyone would like to recommend me some, please do! I’m all ears! If you’ve seen Take Me To Snurch (Snail Church), a version of that with the Zeti is stuck in my head now. 🎶 Take me to zurch. I’ll worship like a Zeti at the zhrine of your zife…
Oof… I’m just gonna say that Frozen fever was inescapable back in the day to tons of kids, including me. When I was a kid, I was a huge copycat. I’d be into things because my friends were into them, and I’d plagiarize other people’s stuff almost all of the time. So, I don’t really remember if I was genuinely interested in Frozen. But apparently, I was enough to have my 9th birthday party be themed around it. Also, I remember that shortly afterwards, I had a sleepover with my friends from dance class, and we watched the movie together (not all of it). Right before we went to bed, we were all singing Let it Go as loud as we could. Frozen’s impacted my young life enough for me to take inspiration from it for Broken and Frozen. But, I agree when people say we need to warm up.
Lastly, there’s my milestone, which just so happens to be Christmas. On Christmas of 2018, I got a new computer, and my parents told me they’d set up the Wattpad account I’ve wanted since before I turned 13. I was first introduced to Wattpad after watching a video about fanfiction and reading the MC:SM Rewritten series (even though it’s now inactive). I talked about the weird little things I liked in real life, but while people listened, I never felt like they really knew what I was talking about. I started uploading my random thoughts, characters and stories to Wattpad, and I started making friends with people who were interested in the same things as me. When I did that, I really felt understood. The same happened when I joined DeviantArt in 2019, and for a while, it was just those two. Later on, in 2021, I hopped on Tumblr, YouTube and AO3. Then came Discord, and most recently, Amino. I was and still am fiercely loyal to my creations and my pals online. Through my high points and my mess-ups, I’ll want to connect with my closest friends and mutuals whenever I can. I’ve found enjoyment in lots of things, and I’ve come so far in terms of developing my artistic skills. When online, I found it easier to connect with people because I could more easily seek out people I had things in common with. What’s especially important to me is that connecting in this way is how I met one of my best friends ever, and while on my trip, I got to see them in real life. I hope it happens again someday. It’s not good to be chronically online, of course. But, being here has helped me discover myself and find peace within this world in ways you can’t even imagine. To everyone I’ve ever interacted with, thank you for five wonderful years!
Wow! This sure was a lot. To everyone I’ve ever befriended and followed over these things and others, and to everyone who followed me, I can’t thank you enough for being here! You guys are the reason I keep logging in almost every day and why I’m still on my feet. Especially you, Hino! Thank you so, so, SO much!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! 🎆💜🖤🦇

FAVORITE POST - Actually has zero notes, but it's a watchlist tag! Keep Your Hands off Eizouken! did end up being a 10/10, and I did end up watching the entirety of A Shoulder to Cry On. Why? No clue.
🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇
✨JULY 2023✨
MOST POPULAR POST - My list of favorite Thai QLs!! I spent so much time on this post, I'm very happy it's the most popular of the month. I'm particularly proud of naming the dinner scene in Lovely Writer as one of my favorites. Still stands, unlike my selections for "most anticipated" series.
FAVORITE POST - I like my list of favorite television series, haha. I've been rewatching season 1 of Gravity Falls recently and that's on the list!
🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇
✨AUGUST 2023✨
MOST POPULAR POST - A "get to know me" tag game, wherein I largely lament the lack of glasses (unfortunately also marking a decline in my remaining vision).
FAVORITE POST - A reply to an ask from @dnana-2809-blog about my favorite forms of media, which sent me down a very nostalgic spiral inclusive of some of my favorite books, movies, and films.
🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇
✨SEPTEMBER 2023✨
MOST POPULAR POST - Another ask game, which I also did to procrastinate on important tasks. I did end up watching The Eighth Sense, which turned out to be one of my favorites of last year!
FAVORITE POST - N/A
🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇
✨OCTOBER 2023✨
MOST POPULAR POST - Yet another tag game, this one asking me to put my Spotify On Repeat playlist on shuffle and report back the results. Mine were interesting, to say the least.
FAVORITE POST - An ask by @wen-kexing-apologist that pressed me to name 5 things that made me happy, which came to me in the midst of a supremely bad mental health day. It was a sorely needed exercise.
🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇
✨NOVEMBER 2023✨
MOST POPULAR POST - This was the month of my La Pluie watch-along, so my most popular post is my watch of episode 6 (when Tai and Patts first attempt to defuse some of their sexual tension).
FAVORITE POST - I have two I really like, though my absolute favorite has to be the one which chronicles the absolute unhinged watching experience of episode 10 (with THAT fight):
I'm also proud of everything I wrote about the use of deafness as symbolism in episode 5 (which ended up aligning with @shortpplfedup's connection to the apostate/true believer theme!)
To see all my posts in my La Pluie watch-along (which I rated a "9/10, two thumbs up, singing in the rain") and read other fantastic meta, see @lurkingshan's round-up here.
🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇
✨DECEMBER 2023✨
MOST POPULAR POST - Ended the year with the "decorate my tree" tag, and I am still so thankful to everyone who took the time to leave me a message!!
FAVORITE POST - N/A
🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇

Seeing your "need to be distracted from giffing", raising my own "need to be distracted from my work" so here i am =3
I have seriously fallen off the QL wagon, so i will ask: is there a QL you're currently watching (ongoing or finished) that you'd particularly recommend? (Except love sea if u don't mind 🙈)
Also, have you been listening to some good music lately? Anything you'd share with the class? ♡ (personally have my brain rotting to the soundtrack of interview with the vampire since early June but i always welcome new noises to jam to)
Sendind you force for the giffing 💪🏻 and good vibes so it ultimately comes out the way you want it to!! -☆
always ready to distract you love <3
"except love sea" there are other shows? lmao
okay so i want to recommend shows i'm not watching and really want to watch but that's not how recs work :( (if it were, though, i'd say go watch i hear the sunspot and zettai 3 for both of us); i'm procrastinating most of the shows i'm watching rn, i'm five eps behind on wandee, two eps behind on the trainee, four episodes behind on knock knock boys but the one i managed to keep up with is my love mix up. i wouldn't say i recommend it because honestl i believe there are better shows airing rn to invest time in. not because i am not enjoyng it but because july is so abundant with new releases and mlmu is just a bit underwhelming in a few ways right now (still, super cute, perfect chemistry, interesting new scenes compared to the original, just not smth to prioritize in my opinion)
oh! i am enjoying meet you at the blossom! idk if you're gonna like it cause there's an opium related dubcon scene in episode two (the opium isnt used in the way youd think but still); other than that it's very amusing and i am having so much fun finally watching a cdrama again, an uncensored wuxia is very precious of a concept to me an one of the mains is a part of an idiot trio and the other is gonna wreak havoc and it's gonna be angsty and i'm just curious about how it all goes down (esp since i have no clue what's happening now, i am not good at following the plot but pretty guys pretty)
and another rec i haven't seen for myself would be century of love, i want to watch it, two episodes are out for now and it's about two hours long total in case you decide to check it out, i think it looks lovely
(and of course ayaka is in love with hiroko should be smth you consider, still havent started it but it's a jgl and it sounds cheesy and cute)
as for music..i haven't been listening to music much, i've gone back to some billie eilish hits like idontwannabeyouanymore and everything i wanted, i like chihiro a lot too; jeonghan and wonwoo's last night is gorgeous <3 ; i also went for some old big bang popular songs, other than that i think i listen to my usual songs on repeat (today it's been the into the woods ost again lol and rn i'm listening to jeonghan's dream)
thank you so much for the power charge!! received and hopefully will be utilized properly lol <33 sending you force for working!! and manyy good vibes 😘😘😘

Fic asks!! 4, 10 and 38! 💜
4. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?
According to the amount of docs I created in the past few months, there are about 14.
Those are the ones I've actually started working on, that I do plan on posting one day, that I'm actively nurturing. (and this is just for Young Royals, there's like 5 for percy jackson but I'm never going to finish those). If we count just random ideas I get during the day that I do want to work out ... 25, maybe?
One that I'm kind of really excited for is Wille and Simon meet each other at the Oscars fic (or maybe another award show, I'm not set on the Oscars but that doesn't really matter). Simon works there, Wille is a guest. They flirt. They have fun sexy times and start dating💜
10. Which fic has been the easiest to write?
Either Took a While (but we made it), cause so much of that was written already in the show, like I was just really talking about my favorite moments there, or Got My Heart On Your Hand, which was really just a dumb silly idea but it got me through that week inbetween the first five episodes and episode six, and somehow that made it very easy to write.
38. Talk about a review that made your day.
Any comment by Lia (@bigalockwood ) genuinely makes me tear up, because she leaves the absolute best (and longest) comments, so those always bring a smile to my face (if i'm not in a literal puddle on the floor)
Send me writing asks while I procrastinate lol

How do I remember my habits and goals that I set? it's not that i become unmotivated and don't do them or I procrastinate due to fear or other reasons, I genuinely forget to do them even after three days of doing each habit. I feel discouraged like nothing sticks in my brain as I'm so forgetful that I even forget to look at affirmations of my mirror :( I might have ADHD so perhaps that has a hand in this
Ooh, I feel this struggle. When trying to form habits, especially if habit formation doesn't come naturally to you (or if you can't form habits at all, which is the case for me) you can't always rely on your brain to remember to do things. Instead, you have to find ways to make the things you want to do the most attractive option. There are two main ways you can do that.
The first is to make the things you want to do as easy as possible to complete, and the things you often do instead harder. For example, if you're trying to set a habit of eating healthy snacks, you might put a bowl of baby carrots out on your kitchen table and put junk food in a hard to reach cabinet (or not buy junk food at all). By making the thing you want to do the default action, you don't have to think about doing it as much. It's also important to have visual cues in place to remind you that the thing you want to do exists- especially if you have ADHD, putting things where you can't see them ensures that you'll never use them again.
The other thing you can try is "temptation bundling". This is when you pair something that you need to do with something you like to do. A common example of this is watching TV when you're exercising- you want to see the next episode of your show, so you're more likely to go work out. Anything that makes the activity engaging is a good option for temptation bundling. For another example, I hated brushing my teeth in the morning for the longest time. But now when I brush my teeth, I also listen to a podcast and do calf raises or balance on one foot. I'm sure it looks silly, but it's much more engaging for me, and I feel accomplished because I got a bunch of things done at once. With the affirmations, maybe you say them in a silly voice or a different accent every morning, or you pretend you're a motivational speaker, or you try to come up with the silliest affirmations possible, or you use one of those affirmation card decks where you get a different affirmation every day- whatever makes it fun for you.

Time to be thankful 🙏🏽
*Trigger Warning: This post does mention thoughts of suicide.*
12/12/24
👋🏽Hello Friends!👋🏽
Two weeks ago, I was off 2 days from work plus the weekend (a total of four days off, WOO) for the Thanksgiving holiday.
I was so excited to be off for the two extra days and relax.
Well, jokes on me, I can't seem to have any days off without making plans to keep myself busy.
So, I pretty much had something to do every day I had off work in addition to schoolwork.
I decided to do something on Thanksgiving since I don't really celebrate or do much because I just have Thanksgiving dinner with family. I decided to volunteer at a local humane society, and I have to say that I made an amazing decision.
I helped put together cat and dog Thanksgiving plates. I even got to give the plates to some of the animals, and seeing how happy they were made me so happy.
Now, I am allergic to cats and forgot to take/bring allergy meds. Luckily, I didn't have a reaction, but when I got home, I passed out. Later that night, I was with my immediate family—brother, sister-in-law, and nephew—and enjoyed my time with them.
The next day, I slept a good amount since I was helping a family friend organize their business documents. Well, the family has a ton of dogs and at least one cat, and boy, did I have a reaction. Friday night, I decided to go to one of my friend group's Friendsgiving, and I had a good time with them. It was nice to see some friends and catch up with them.
Saturday, I basically just slept all day. I did see my nephew for a little while but then fell back asleep. I guess my body was making me rest—which you should never let your body get to this point.
I was able to make my world-famous baked ziti (according to my friends) for another Friendsgiving. After arriving an hour later because I had procrastinated baking the baked ziti, I was greeted with so much excitement and love, which made me feel so wanted. After a whole night of laughter, connection, pure fun, and joy, I started to get really stuffy. My allergies were really acting up, so I had to go home. The last 4 days really reminded me that I have such amazing people in my life and great opportunities to make a difference. I am truly so blessed. While I still get depressed and still have suicidal thoughts, I am thankful for everything that I have and everyone I meet. But in my negative mindset, or when I'm in episodes, it's hard to focus on anything else but the extreme emotional pain I'm in, and I feel like people really forget that. Because I can have suicidal ideation and be depressed and "hating" life, people lean towards thinking that I'm ungrateful, but that's far from the truth. Having suicidal ideations is hard to explain because, some days, I don't want to be here, and for others, I'm fine (aka feeling numb). Some days, the ideations are just passing thoughts; sometimes, it's the active "I don't want to live anymore" or the "I don't want to be a burden; everyone is just better off if I was dead."
It's all complicated, but in the end, I'm still here, and I am very thankful for everything I have in my life. It's always good to remind yourself of the things you are grateful for, especially around the holidays.
Until next time, friends! 💝

I'm back and I brought my MIND BOMBS!
Ok so I have about 1 fan for these silly little posts and I have decided that now is the time to start doing them again. I took a break because of college but also because I like procrastinating and didn't feel ready to push myself to write more silly little analyses. Enough about me though its cardboard time. Mind Bomb to me has very vivid imagery. It was created originally in 4th edition before magic started being wholly coherent. Magic was still finding its footing and the border is a testament to that. I ended up with this card as one of my first MTG cards; my dad had bought me a random 1000 card job lot off of ebay and in it was contained a bunch of cards from across a massive portion of magics history. Some Lorwyn, some Futuresight and many more but this one and many of the other classic cards had always struck me with their bizarreness.
The card itself works in quite an interesting way with it allowing any effected player to substitute its damage for discard instead. I view this is in a way where one word of its name is emphasised more than the other, mind and mental effects usually being associated with the loss of cards whilst the bomb being a clearly vicious and destructive physical force. Another thing of note is its cost, there is no real narrative behind this card at least not one I know of so seeing its cheap cost mixed with its art clearly depicting multiple dropping as our detonating one does implies that this weapon is commonplace in its plane. The art has many things of note to it to really sell the player on the impact of its effect. For one the splitting shell as it comes down with bolts of mental lighting zapping to the now loose casing. The bomb itself being in almost regal tones, the golds and reds giving it an air of power and decadence. Yet upon closer inspection this weapon may not be as impressive as thought. The metal is dented and worn with clear signs of aging and the insignia with its bold red colouring is not done to uniform or at least doesn't to be with its asymmetry and hints of dripping. The detonation we see central to our card may not even planned as we can see the straps that hold its shell together flailing in the wind, falling apart, as the two others in view descend cleanly. These are relics. Whatever war these were a part of, whatever nation they once served is gone. Wiped clean. Whatever once stood is no more and perhaps it was their own doing. We will likely never revisit this card or its plane of origin as whatever once there has been forgotten. Could these bombs have been their undoing. We could ask them, if they still know. I hope you enjoyed this slightly dumb rant about an irrelevant card these are fun to do and I actually have some lined up now which is good. No hints though. I have two final notes a slightly lighter one and a slightly less so. Lets start heavy. There is a TTRPG called normality, the premise is similar to my final little statement where in which the world is hit with psycho-nukes that make the entire planet stupid. This idea of a mental bomb that strikes and destroys civilisation is probably what crept into my mind at the end there; the game itself is batshit and almost impossible to play with the GM being encouraged to lie to the players to only make matters worse for them. It seems cool and I want some friends to torment with it. Might try it on my college group. Try it today! Lastly this card reminded me greatly of the thing that first got me into card games. In season 4 of Adventure Time there is an episode called "Card Wars" later in life I would learn this was a parody of magic made up for the show but at that young age I was completely drawn in by the cool monsters, little scenery and the way the players interacted. This card reminded me of cerebral bloodstorm, a card played by Jake that backfires and kills his own husker knights. That's all. I CAN REST AT LAST.
#magic the gathering#artwork#writing#art analysis#adventure time#blue mana#The funny brain bulb says get shocked or take dementia damage#All will be one#My first deck was pure black because I only had swamps and I am forever tainted because of this fact#i take requests#normality#I have started a binder with all the cards I review and analyse and its pretty sweet

1198.
Have you cuddled with someone today? >> King Crimson suddenly reappeared this morning and promptly fell asleep, unsurprisingly, but there was some cuddling before that. And of course I needed maximum Can Calah cuddles after my somatic stretching episode.
Can you smell anything right now? >> Not really.
Have you spoken to a relative on the phone today? .
Do you use the toilet paper with the colorful designs on it? >> Absolutely not.
Do you wear your hair up or down most often? .
What was the first thing you ate today? >> I had leftover mushroom alfredo with microgreens and those super-tiny tomatoes added in.
Do you have anything more important you should be doing right now? >> If I did, I'd probably be doing it. I can't procrastinate for too long, the anxiety of the looming task gets to me and I can't even enjoy whatever more-fun thing I've decided to do instead. So there's really no point.
Do you still buy the paper or do you get your news elsewhere? >> I have never bought newspapers and I don't seek out the news. Have you ever eaten tofu and if so, did you enjoy it? >> Sure.
Have you worn make-up today? >> I have not.
Can you hear anything right now? >> I had the MyNoise preset running because there were construction sounds earlier but this just reminded me to pause it and see if they're still-- oop, yeah, they're definitely still going. White noise preset back on now.
What was the last type of meat you ate? >> Chicken (specifically, sesame chicken that I ordered on DoorDash).
Have you taken any medication today? >> I had about 2mg of an edible. I'll probably have another 3mg or so later. Have you ever been suspended from school? >> I have, usually for altercations that weren't actually my fault. The epitome of adding insult (getting suspended for "fighting") to injury (being bullied by aggressive people).
Have you ever inhaled helium? >> I have, it's too funny to resist. Have you bought something that was on sale today? >> Nothing that I got at Bridge Street Market was on sale.
What was the last fruit you ate? >> Strawberries, last evening in the backyard. Or, I guess you could count the tomatoes from this morning, depending on which definition of "fruit" you're going by.
Have you ever watched Parks and Recreation? >> I've seen the whole thing, yeah.
Have you watched a movie this week? >> I watched Snow White and the Huntsman on Monday. I've been a bit too trapped in my head for movies lately, but now that the trauma fog has cleared a bit, I will probably watch another one today or tomorrow (or both).
How far away is the closest McDonald’s from your house? >> Uhh... I'm not sure of the distance, but it's no more than a 15-minute drive.
Have you ever been to a wedding? >> I have. Have you asked someone for advice today? >> I have not.
Did you ever play Habbo Hotel? >> I do not.
Have you ever been to Hawaii? >> I have not. Have you watched more than an hour of TV today? >> I haven't watched any of my shows as of yet. I don't know if I will or not, depends on what else I get up to.
Ever wake up early on Saturdays to go Garage Sale shopping? >> I have never done this. When was the last time you got a nose bleed? . How old is the mattress on your bed? >> A year old, in a couple of weeks.
Do you keep magazines by your toilet? >> There isn't space to have anything like that, but even if there were, I wouldn't. We have smartphones now, after all.
The last time you got dressed up, where did you go? >> Cabaret du Mortel.
Have you ever stolen a road sign or traffic barrier? >> I have not. I don't even know how people pull this off, lol.
Captain Crunch vs. Count Chocula: Who makes the better cereal? >> I don't like Cap'n Crunch and I've never had Count Chocula but I'm sure I wouldn't like it. So.
Would you prefer an ice cream sundae or an ice cream cone? >> Cone.
Is chapstick a necessity for you? >> Cocoa butter is. Chapsticks always have too many random ass ingredients that just irritate my lips further.
Do you watch movies with the subtitles on? >> I sure do.
