Davey meets Superman-Davey the Revenant Au-DCxDP
Who is Davey
(The people scream for more Davey! I need a better name for this AU)
Clark hadn't paid a visit to Bruce and the boy in a while. They had been suspiciously quiet lately. More the usual quiet at least. Never a good sign.
Well color him surprised when he discovered that a new little Robin had arrived.
He was a little guy too. Smaller than the rest were.
He was laying on a lounging pillow with an iPad playing baby sensory videos.
"Hey, Sup. Are you here for Batman?" Richard asked.
"Oh, yeah but I wanted to see you and others. I only really catch glimpses of Duke when I fly over. But you didn't tell me anything so I have to check in. You have a new brother?"
"Yep, another one. This is Davey. Look Davey it's Superman. Do you know who Superman is?" He asked.
Davey looked up briefly. His eyes blinked vacantly at Clark before going back to his video.
"That's...weird. I guess you are too bright for him." Dick said taking note.
Dick guessed it was because Davey as a revenant doesn't take note of people who aren't surrounded by death. Sure, Superman had died before but he isn't covered in Gotham's aura of death.
Plus Superman never killed anyone and that attracts Davey like a moth to a flame.
"I guess. Hey Davey. It's nice to met you. I can't wait to get to know you. What are you watching?" Clark tried to get closer but Davey simply rolled away with his iPad in hand.
"Davey?!" Dick exclaimed in confusion.
Yeah, that's really weird for Davey. He loved people, in his own way.
"Alright, no more Ipad. You're being rude."Dick said sternly taking the device away.
Davey let out a whine and sat up.
"Sorry, I'll tell Bruce know you want to talk. He probably already knows but I'll remind him. Cam you just watch Davey for a second while I do that." Dick tucked the tablet under his arm as he let. "Oh, and don't let him out of your sight."
Clark didn't know what to say. Now that Davey wasn't staring at his tablet his eyes were locked on Clark. His eyes were unsettling, unblinking. He didn't say anything and just studied Superman like he didn't understand what he was seeing.
Clark reflexively looked away but when he looked back the kid was gone. Clark panicked as he searched for the kid.
Finally, he found him standing on the railing of the stairs at the mansion foyer.
"Davey, it's not safe up there!" Clark said worried.
Davey looked at him blankly then smiled widely.
"Davey! Get down from there!" Richard yelled at the boy as he exited the basement.
This was not the first time then.
Davey waved at Richard as he threw himself off the second floor.
The part of Clark's brain in charge of reaction response must have turned of when he saw how confidently Davey jump or his own experience with Jon might have left him too used to flying chidren, or it was the lack of fear in Dick's voice.
But Davey fell and broke his neck on impact.
Clark let out a distressed sceam as he fly to check on the boy. Dick grumbled lowly.
Blood leaked out of Davey's nose and ears as he layed dead in Superman's arms.
"Call 912! No, I'll fly him to the hospital! WAIT NO HIS NECK!" Clark scrambled to fix this.
How did he let this happen? Why did he do this? He should have been able to save him. He could have prevented this easily!
But Richard put a hand on his shoulder.
"Don't worry. He just playing with you." He said exhaustedly. "Come on Davey. Get up and stop trying to scare him."
With a low sickening click Davey stretched his body and snapped everything back into place. This his eyes opened more lively than ever.
"Hehehe!" Davey giggled gleefully. He reached up and hugged Clark around the neck.
Richard shook his head.
"I knew he was acting weird. He was just bored." Dick said urging Davey to come to him. "Bruce wants to talk."
Clark was more than puzzled. This whole situation was...crazy.

Escaped clone au
You know all those fics where Danny and Damian are twins but everyone first assumes Danny must be a clone? How about an au where Danny is Damian's clone who escaped the League after he was assumed dead. Damian could even have been the one to have "killed" him, back when Danny was a newly created, fully brainwashed clone minion and trying to kill Damian himself.
Danny gets adopted by the Fentons and canon goes on as normal, until Dan. Witnessing what would happen to the world should he turn evil really drove home to Danny how dangerous he is.
Even if he was confident he could be trusted with his absurd amount of power (which he isn't), what if the League of Assassins found out about him? Does he still have programming triggers from his evil assassin clone conditioning?
So, Danny does the responsible thing: he goes to Batman to turn himself in.
Cue Danny showing up on Bruce's doorstep with ghost hunting equipment, intel on the afterlife, and an almost unbelievable backstory. Somehow he still managed to be more well-adjusted than Damian.
More thoughts under the read more
Here's how I'm thinking Danny leaving the League went down:
After surviving his wounds but failing his mission, Danny (then an unnamed potential Damian replacement) knew there was no point in returning to the League. As a failure, he was meant to be disposed of. He even thought of simply allowing himself to perish, since that was what the League would do.
But he couldn't help but feel as though that would be a waste of a resource. Surely he could be of more use to the League alive than dead?
That tiny bit of rebellious logic is what caused Danny to go into hiding, only living on based on the off chance he would find opportunities to further the League's goals. Obviously, that mentality didn't last long after being exposed to the real world and meeting one Jazz Fenton.
Being adopted by the Fentons was the best cover Danny could have asked for, since any odd behavior he couldn't hide while he was learning how to be "normal" was totally overshadowed by the sheer bizarre eccentricity of his new parents. He was still the neighborhood weird kid, but even that was a major upgrade from disposable tool, so Danny considered it a win.
Anyway, if anyone likes this idea, please feel free to have at it! Interpret it as you please :)

Prompt 315
We all know the idea of Danny getting adopted by one of the batfam. But hear me out: Danny gets adopted by Vampire Dick Grayson.
Danny honestly, did not mean to dimension hop, nor did he mean to get this injured in the first place, where his vision is spinning and there’s greenRedGreenGreenGREEN spilling from his body like he’s melting from the inside. He didn’t mean to get caught, he just didn’t want Dan to happen again, not again and the GIW had seen him flying and-
And now he’s here, wherever here is, smoke in his lungs making it even harder to breathe than it was before. And there’s a shadow approaching, a flicker of crimson in his blurry vision, and there’s claws tilting his head and then something burns-
Dick? Call it nostalgia perhaps, seeing this small child, so much like his little wing and baby bird once were, white streak and corpse-pale skin and all. He just wished for his dear brothers to join him, that’s all he wanted, and perhaps Damian won’t be so bitey if he got a friend…
#DCxDP#DPxDC#Prompts#Vampire Dick Grayson#Danny is 14 but tiny (corpses never age)#Dick definitely needs therapy but his brain also no longer works on human logic either so#Dick (holding two baby vampires trying to rip him apart): Aren’t they adorable :)#Honestly if Danny is an alternate version of one of the bats it’s going to make Dick get ideas#If his family is dead in HIS world then he can just… take them from other ones#Look at how tiny this alternate version of Jason is!#Oh look another one- clone Cass? His lil sister now#Dick has problems & is not dealing with any of them#Dick vampire-king grayson: I can rebuild my family and we can be happy I know it#*wheeze* y'know how we talk about how danny is a baby ghost#does this mean Dick counts as a baby vampire

Snippet 12: hands
Lancer: dear god, Mr. Fenton, what happened to your hands!?
Danny, had a run in with Damian’s katana and both of his hands have stitches: um… cooking… accident. I can’t use them that much currently
Lancer, pale: right, yes, of course. You may have one of your friends right you notes until they are properly healed
————
Snippet 13: more hands (and dash is a dick)
Dash: I bet Fenturd’s just faking his hand injury to get out of doing class work. Getting out of classwork is my thing! I’ll show him.
Danny, minding his own business:
Dash, yanks on his fingers harshly: Freak! Did you think you could copy me and het away with it?
Danny, his stitches torn from the way Dash grabbed him: you’re the last person I’d want to copy Dash, let go.
Dash: we all know you’re faking the hand injury, there’s no way you’d— you’d—
(Danny’s hands are bleeding, and starting to smear on Dash’s hands.)
Danny, (fake) calmly: you were saying, Dash?
Dash: I - uh—
Danny: thanks for opening them up, jerk.
—————
Snippet 14: Danny is Bruce’s Clone and Bruce Wayne has been hottest man alive for many consecutive years
The A-Lister Girls are at a sleepover
Star: Never have I ever had a crush on Danny Fenton
All girls (including Star): puts a finger down
A-List Girl: Paulina put your finger down
Paulina, begrudgingly putting a finger down: he shouldn’t count - he’s a loser!
A-List Girl: he’s still the cutest boy in our grade. Put your damn finger down.
—————
Snippet 15: unstoppable force vs immovable object
(In the Clone Danny Au, since Danny is not a ghost Valerie doesn’t see Phantom as the guy who ruined her life, but a very exhausted vigilante trying his best. They’re allies with conflicting ideologies on how to handle ghosts.)
Red Huntress: are you kidding me, Phantom? You dragged a kid in with you to fight ghosts? I thought you were better than that
Wraith, offended: *opening his mouth*
Phantom, tiredly putting a hand over Damian’s mouth: *in ASL + one hand* you don’t think I tried to stop him?
Red Huntress: he’s a child, Phantom, how hard could it be?
Phantom: looks down at Wraith
Wraith: looks up at Phantom with the eyes of a hundred enraged bulls
Phantom, kneeling down to Wraith and pulling his mask up to show his mouth: *whispering inaudibly*
Wraith: *takes off in the opposite direction*
Phantom, standing up to Red: *ASL* well? go get him
————
Snippet 16: identity
(Danny and Damian are sitting on a rooftop, in the middle of a break from patrol. Damian sits between Danny’s legs and Danny is slumped over Damian’s back.)
Damian, playing with Danny’s fingers:
Danny: who are you?
Damian: Damian.
Danny: who are you not?
Damian: Damian Wayne.
Danny: do you have to be?
Damian: no.
Danny: who do you have to be?
Damian: I just have to be me.
Danny: who are you?
Damian: I’m Damian.
Danny: good.
Damian:
Danny:
Damian: who are you?
Danny, smiling: Danny
—————
Snippet 17: long hair
(In the Clone Danny Au, Danny’s hair goes to his shoulders. I was in a GNC mood at the time the au was made and it passed on to Danny.)
Tucker: are you going to cut your hair, Danny? It’s getting long.
Danny, laying against the bed frame with Sam doing his hair: probably to get the dead ends cut off. I like it long.
Sam: I like it long too.
Tucker: you like it long because he lets you do whatever you want to it
Sam: it’s also a stand against the oppressive stereotype that men can’t have long hair and must always have it short in order to appear masculine! Danny’s showing individuality and sticking it to the patriarchy at the same time!
Danny: and because I let you do whatever you want to it.
Sam, making a punk hairdo for danny: yea that too
——————
Snippet 18: Danny is Bruce Wayne’s clone and Bruce——
Danny, getting stuff from his locker: my parents have a new ‘Fenton anti-ghost sticky bomb’ they’re working on and—
Student with a photography camera: Hey, Fenton!
Danny, looking over: what?
Student: *snaps a photo* thanks!
Student walks away
Danny:
Tucker:
Sam:
Danny: so… um…. Is that- is that another Wes? Should I be worried?
Sam: you should be angry! He just took your picture without your consent! That’s a violation of your bodily autonomy.
Danny: we can keep an eye on it, Sam, and if it becomes an issue then I’ll report it to a teacher.
Danny: and as I was saying, I can’t wait to have to make sure that that doesn’t hurt anyone.
Danny: i love having to stay up late sabotaging my parents’ inventions. Yay…
—————
Snippet 19: Danny is Bruce’s clone and—
Wes: ranting about how Phantom = Danny and how there’s proof and he has it and—
Random Student from his photography club: you wanna kiss him so bad it makes you look stupid.
Wes: I do nOT
Student: Its okay Wes, so does literally everyone else.
—————
Snippet 20: Lookalike
Danny: the only good thing about being Bruce Wayne’s clone is that my Brucie Wayne Impression is spot on
Damian: what??
Danny: my Brucie Wayne impression. It shouldn’t be as fun as it is doing it

DPXDC Prompt #129
Danny was having fun hoping through different dimensions. He needed a vacation and was looking for a place to stay to rest. It’s been 5 or so years since he was crowned king and he had finally caught up some of the paperwork. The world he was touring right now had superheroes and it felt like the right place to relax without worrying.
Unfortunately he already existed in this world so he couldn’t stay in Amity park since he didn’t want to complicate things. Currently in a city that wasn’t in his own universe, Gotham, he spent some time checking out the city and exploring. Danny however feels something was off about himself in this universe, he felt like he shouldn’t know things he does. He slowly remembers the things that happened to him in this universe, he always did as part of his growing power. Although some of the things were things only an assassin would know which kind of started to worry him just a bit.
Everything went great in his vacation, well it was until Danny runs into someone his age, someone this universe’s version of him knew very well. His brother Damian who accuses him of being an imposter and chases Danny through his apartment with a sword.

Real -Chapter 2
Summary:
While hiding from his parents in Gotham, an ill-timed encounter with his neighbor, Jason, has Danny pretending to be his own twin. Fortunately for Danny, the more he pretends the easier it gets. Until he is not pretending at all. Or: Danny names a duplicate and via ghost logic, said duplicate ends up becoming real.
Previous -> Next
Also on AO3
Danny stays duplicated as long as he can. He stays awake long into the night, talking at Jamie more than with him. Still, words do come, slow and few and unsure as they are. And greater still… somehow, impossibly, the conversation is not just Danny’s own thoughts repeated back to him.
“You can take the mattress if you want,” Danny offers, his eyes growing blurry, fighting sleep. “I’ll take the couch.”
Danny wakes some time later, alone in his apartment. Jamie is gone. Or… may his duplicate is not.
The half ghost frowns down at his own chest, brow furrowed at a novel sensation. A tiny spot of cold, just below his core. It seems to swirl and pulse, dimming and brightening.
Danny gasped, an awed surprise. He can… feel Jamie. The other is still there.
But… for just a moment, anxiety steals his breath. The feeling almost reminds him of being overshadowed. Pointdexter pulling him from his body, contorting his face. One of Vlad’s clones forcing him to transform, electricity searing his veins. Fear stabs at his core.
And the feeling echoes back to him.
“Jamie would not.” The words are in Danny’s head but they are not his.
Despite the fear, the words also ring with sincerity. And as unsettling as the foreign thought should be, Danny is comforted, no longer afraid.
“I know you wouldn’t.” Danny tries to reassure. He rubs where the cold spark is nestled just below his sternum, as if he can comfort the… not a duplicate.
The half ghost corrects himself. “You’re not a duplicate. You’re…” He speaks, knowing Jamie can hear. “A clone, I guess. Like Ellie. Just… not strong enough to have your own body all the time.”
A whisper of sadness, of disappointment comes at the words.
“Give me a bit of time to recover and we’ll try again.” Danny soothes.
The pattern continues. Danny duplicates again, pulling Jamie back out into reality. Each time, he feels one of the gossamer threads connecting them break.
The two do chores and try to cook together. Jamie’s movements are slow, requiring much verbal instruction. The twins watch tv or read, though the younger’s understanding is slow and often incomplete, like a lagging computer. Danny and Jamie play card games like go fish. The clone often stares at the card with brow furrowed, as if struggling to connect the number on the card to its verbal partner.
And yet, each struggle is a joy as Danny discovers more of his brother. Jamie is growing more confident, more sure. His words and actions quicken as his personality takes shape. The clone has his own likes and dislikes, his own opinions. At first unsure, mild, emotions half-hearted. But… those too, those new found emotions, are strengthening.
About two weeks after that fateful conversation with Jason, their neighbor knocks on their door. Danny jerks his head at the noise, eyes fixed in equal surprise and panic; he hadn’t heard anything from Jason since that day, had half-thought that the man gave up on getting him to open up after that chilling conversation.
“Coming!” His voice cracked, stepping towards the door.
Frantic, Danny reached, mind and arm, to Jamie. It is easy and automatic, the impulse to put on the act, to prepare to pilot a duplicate,.
But the clone slaps his hand away, scowling. “Do not control.”
Danny blinks, realizing. He’d been meaning to puppet Jamie, like he was just an empty shell. His stomach twists with the violation. “Sorry.” He blushes, shamed.
“It’s fine.” The other just waved him off, though Danny can feel his annoyance buzzing through their connection.
And for just a moment, Danny marvels at it; earlier Jamie would have been afraid if he had tried that. But now… the response of anger, something so much stronger and solid. His twin’s ability to feel is growing. A thing of awe.
Jamie raises a brow, pointing at the door. And Danny shakes away the feeling. “Okay.” He breathes out. “Be cool. We’ve got this.”
Danny opens the door to let Jason inside and for the first time, their neighbor meets the real Jamie, though unbeknownst to him.
Jason invites the twins back to his apartment, offering fresh tamales. And in turn, Danny and Jamie offer a version of the truth.
“What do you think of metas?” Danny starts hesitantly.
Jason raises a brow. “People are people. I don’t care as long as you aren’t using powers to hurt other people or yourself.”
The older half ghost lets out a breath. “There was… an accident.” Danny bits his lip. “After I… we could do things we couldn’t before. We hide it from Mom and Dad.”
“They… aren’t good people.” Jamie adds. “Hate people that aren’t normal humans, alway think they’re right.”
“They found out and did not react well.” Danny frowns, aimlessly rubbing his shoulder where his mom had shot him as he escaped.
“So we ran away. And ended up here.” His clone finishes.
For a long moment, Jason silently frowns, brow wrinkled with worry.
Danny’s eyes widen in alarm. “You’re not going to call CPS, are you? Or the police?”
“No.” The man shakes his head. “Damn kid. That all sucks.”
“Yeah.” Jamie shrugs, head falling.
“What are you going to do?” Danny swallowed.
Jason sighs. “I know someone that works at the Wayne Meta-human Support Foundation. Maybe they can get you some funds so you can quit those shitty coffee shop jobs and go back to school.”
“But it’s almost summer!” Jamie complains at the idea of going to school.
Danny tries to hide his side-eye, surprised at his clone protesting on those grounds of all things.
“You could start in the fall. Gotham schools are shitty but they’re better than not graduating at all.”
“Or they could attend Gotham Academy.” Damian’s scoffing voice cuts in.
The twins flinch at the same time, both looking towards the window where the boy’s voice came from.
“What are you doing here?” Jason’s voice carries a scowl.
Meanwhile Danny blinks, brow wrinkling in confusion. “Did you climb up the fire escape?”
Damian just tsks. “You were not answering your phone. Richard needs both of us for a project.”
The older brother sighs. “Give me a minute, Dames.” Jason turns to the half ghost and his clone. “Think about what I said.” He scribbles something on a piece of paper, handing it to Jamie. “This is Duke’s number. He’s Damian’s foster brother. B ended up fostering him through the meta-human foundation. He can tell you more about it.”
“Okay, we’ll think about it.” Jamie looks up, smile sincere through the palpable worry.
Jason gives an approving nod, then stood expression shifting. “I am glad you’re feeling better, kid.”
“What’s that mean?” The clone asks, nosing wrinkling with just a bit more plain confusion than offense.
“You were sulking the last time we talked, didn’t speak a word to me or Danny. But you look better today.” The man claps his shoulder. “I don’t think I’ve ever heard you speak this much.”
For just a second, Jamie hazards a look at Danny, a flicker of uncertainty. His eyes return to Jason. “It’s been an interesting two weeks. But we’re doing better.”
The man apparently catches the shared look. “I’m glad you worked out whatever that was.” From the window comes another tsk. “I’m coming, Demon Brat. And maybe this time let’s use the door like a normal person.”
Jason and Damian leave. Danny and Jamie return to their apartment. And Danny’s eyes soften, studying his twin with new eyes.
“What?” The other raises a brow.
“You do look better.” Jamie looks more solid somehow, more present in a way that Danny knows is invisible to a normal human. The clone smiles softly, the crease of his lips unquestioningly real. And the light in his eyes… “I’m so happy you’re here.” The spark is brighter than ever.
Jamie shrugs. “This was your doing.”
“Yeah, I’m the one who made a duplicate. But,” Danny chuckles. “I have no idea how you’re real.”
For a second, an expression flickers on the clone’s face. It ripples through their bond, an emotion that Danny does not quite understand. Something like self-doubt…
“Can we watch a movie?” Jamie cuts in with unusual earnestness. “The one with the clown fish?
“Yeah.” Danny blinks, his twin’s subdued feeling dismissed by surprise; Jamie actually asking for something was a pleasant first.
Another afternoon and night with his twin. Jamie manages to surprise him with a joke. To bright giggles, Danny discovers where his brother is ticklish. The clone learns to reciprocate. But the separation still only lasts until Danny falls asleep.
“We need to try something else.” The half ghost groans into his hands in the morning. “There’s gotta be some way for you to last longer than me nodding off.”
“It lasted longer than you falling asleep.” Jamie’s voice in his head answers.
“What?” Danny blinks in surprise, head jerking up.
“You fell asleep. Half an hour alone, then gone.” The words are said almost casually, as if the clone hadn’t thought to mention this until just now. He probably hadn’t.
“Jamie, it’s on your end. The problem’s on your end.” There is no annoyance in the words, just excitement, a newly blooming hope. “That’s it! Next time, you need to pull yourself away from me.”
“But… that’s not… not possible.” Jamie stammers the words, doubt radiating.
“Sure it is!” Danny stands, motioning emphatically. “Let’s try it now.”
For half an hour, Danny stumbles through an explanation of how to duplicate. The cold spark that is Jamie churns anxiously, flailing feebly and at random.
“Can’t do it.” The clone grits out, frustrated just as Danny’s body flickers intangible.
Danny rubs his sternum comfortingly. “Dude, you just managed to turn us intangible.” A proud smile quirks his lips. “Maybe we can start with basic powers. You can overshadow me, for the lack of a better word. We’ll work up to actually duplicating.”
Jamie does not respond with words. Still Danny feels his misgivings.
“It’ll work.” The half ghost reassures. Just then his phone alarm goes off. “Actually… I guess this will have to wait until after work.”
“Good.” The clone huffs. “Tired.”
The exhaustion is almost palpable, though distinct from Danny’s own energy level; he feels quite well rested. “Go to sleep then.” He encourages. “I’ll wake you up when I get home.”
Jamie hums a sleepy good night into Danny’s mind. His cold spark seems to condense, the churn of its energy slowing into something almost solid.
The half ghost hums questioningly, for just a moment wondering. Is that Jamie’s core, trying to form? Danny prods his own, a discrete spherical ball of energy in the center of his being. It would be solid, in the same place as his heart if he was in ghost form. Now though it is phased just out of reality, in the same dimension his body slips into when he turns intangible.
Jamie’s spark is just as intangible; he can’t actually feel it if he presses down with his fingers. But the energy is diffuse, always churning faster or slower in seemingly random circuits.
Danny’s phone alarm rings again and he dismisses the thought. He does have to get to work after all.
Danny does not have to wake up Jamie when he gets home, as the clone quietly mutters into his thoughts on the bus ride home.
“Did you sleep well?” The half ghost asks silently.
“There were pictures.” Jamie muses. “Riding a dinosaur, petting a kitty. Ice cream. Brain freeze.”
Danny just manages to hold back a chuckle. “You were dreaming.” This is an exciting first. “Do you remember what dreams are?”
A hum of confirmation. “Remember Danny dreams.”
“Do you remember some of my dreams?” That’s not surprising; talking to Jamie over the past two weeks had revealed that the clone shared many of his memories.
“Yes.” A fearful shiver. “Plasmius is scary.”
And now Danny feels guilty, his stomach churning with feeling. He’s giving Jamie his nightmares, his trauma just by the nature of what the clone is. And he made the decision to pull him into the mess that is his life.
“Want to exist.” Jamie reminds him, prodding his core with a measure of comfort, despite the lingering chill of fear.
“Yeah. We already decided, didn’t we Jamie?”
Another buzz of agreement.
When they arrive back at the apartment, Danny and Jamie get started on their practice.
“Don’t be nervous.” Danny reassures, already feeling Jamie’s hesitation. “I trust you.”
The half ghost coaxes his twin into the driver’s seat. “You need to stretch. It’s like… oh man, is this gonna sound weird… my body’s a suit of clothes and you need to stretch to fill it. Just… move it like it was your own body.” He chuckles awkwardly. “It should be easier than my first time overshadowing someone. We look exactly the same.”
Danny breaths, letting himself retreat into the back of his own mind. Anxiety pours from Jamie, buzzing across their connection. But the clone does as instructed.
Vertigo overtakes Danny as the two seem to switch places. His body gasps without his permission. The body wobbles, falling to its knees.
Distantly, Danny feels his chest heave. A moan rises in his throat, slowly morphing into stuttering letters. But his tongue is awkward. It clips his teeth, earning a hiss of pain.
Danny soothes the clone piloting his body. “It’s okay. Just breathe.”
Jamie does so. Slowly, finally. “You’re so heavy.” The shaky words exit his mouth.
The half ghost would blink in surprise if he had use of his eyes. “Really?”
The clone has no response. Instead, he shakily pulls the body to its feet. He stumbles a few feet forward, nearly falling over the kitchen counter. The hand pricks a knife Danny really should have put away before now. With a gasp, Jamie jerks the fingers away.
Again, the body ended up on the floor. Overwhelmed, the clone pants. But… slowly, the anxiety shifts. A shakily hand rises to the face, eyes fixed on the red blood welling from the fingertip.
“It’s okay.” Danny tries to reassure. “We’ll wrap it up and it’ll heal.”
But that was not what had the clone captivated. “Heavy. Blood…” Shakily, the other hand rises to the chest. “Heartbeat. Hu… human. This body… is human.” Again, Jamie looks at the sluggishly bleeding finger. “Danny is.. Is human.”
So much surprise, confusion screams into Danny’s mind. But he does not understand why; what has his twin so freaked out?. “Yes, I’m human?”
“But… Jamie doesn’t…. This isn’t….” The clone pinches his eyes closed, straining for words. “Jamie is… is a ghost. Yes? A ghost, not… not human.”
“Oh.” Understanding dawns. “I guess you are. A ghost I mean.” Anytime Danny duplicates, the secondary body is made of ectoplasm, a ghost even if the appearance is human. Of course Jamie is the same. “No wonder this freaked you out.” Guilt pricked at his core. “Sorry, Jamie. I should have thought about how weird being human would be for you.”
Jamie does not respond for a long while. A tangle of emotions vibrates through the twins’ connection. Too many for Danny to parse, but the strongest…
Finally the eyes open, head shaking. “Is… is Jamie supposed to be human too?” Something like guilt rises through the words.
The feeling of inadequacy is enough to break Danny’s core. “Jamie. Jamie, my baby bro, little twin, clone of my own core. There is not supposed to be here. You are supposed to be exactly what you are. Full ghost or halfa, I don’t care. I just want you here, by my side.”
Jamie nods, tears rising in his eyes. “Better practice then.”
“That’s my Jamie.”

DP x DC x DW crossover idea
Cadmus, using DNA samples of Superman and the Doctor that they’ve collected over the years, creates a Kryptonian/TimeLord clone hybrid. The clone, DNY-13, looks a lot like Superman while also having two hearts/binary vascular system. Sometime when the clone is about 4 or 5 he escapes from the lab. A portal to the infinite realms had opened up and the clone managed to wander into it without anyone noticing.
Clockwork, who’d opened the portal, was waiting on the other side for the clone. Clockwork then drops the clone off right outside the Fenton’s front door, rings the bell, and disappears. The Fenton’s find this tiny little toddler just standing on their front step and instantly fall in love with him. They bring him inside and look him over. He appears to be in perfect health, though the double heart beat is a bit odd. And he has a medical ID bracelet that declares him to be DNY-13, property of Cadmus, and the year of birth being almost thirty years in the future.
The Fenton’s decide to ignore the bracelet, cutting it off and hiding it away in one of their filing cabinets. They decide to name the tiny child, Danny, and quickly introduce him to his big sister Jazz. Danny grows up with the Fenton’s never knowing that he’s a clone hybrid of two different aliens. (Also in this au this is one of the reasons why Dani was so unstable when she was first created. Cause she was the clone of a clone that is half Kryptonian and half TimeLord. Something that Vlad didn’t know).
It isn’t until about five years after he becomes Phantom that he finds his old Cadmus medical ID bracelet in one of the filing cabinets in the ops center. He asks his parents about it and they finally tell him about how they found him on their doorstep when he was 4/5. Danny decides to consult Clockwork where he finds out that he was a clone created by Cadmus sometime in the future, and that Clockwork rescued him from them and gave him to the Fenton’s.
After finding this out, Danny decides to go searching for the two aliens who he was created from!

Deaged Danny escapes the GIW and goes to Gotham. He has some sort of connection to the Waynes, but it doesn't really matter the exact details. Possible options:
Demon twins (Danny is deaged to whatever age Damian thought he died as)
Lost child/sibling (Danny was adopted, Tucker tracked down living bio-relatives to one of the Waynes. Dealer's choice on which Wayne and how they're related, and how they react to Danny being the wrong age.)
Danny is a clone (in which the Fentons are crazy and cloned one of the Waynes, OR Danny was born in a lab for an unrelated plot and one of the scientists grew a conscience and put the baby in the system for adoption. Again, Tuck is the real mvp here.)
Etc
Danny gets settled into the Wayne family, who immediately start researching and tearing down the GIW on behalf of their newest member.
Suddenly, the boomerang appears out of nowhere and launches at Danny. He's terrified the Fentons (either a bad reveal or at least the ASSUMPTION of a bad reveal) or the GIW sent it, but hopeful that it might be his friends looking for him.
Instead, it's an age-correct version of Danny, who is absolutely losing his shit because he finally found the baby clone, thank the ancients he's safe, are you injured, how long have you been with the Waynes, how much do they know?
In other words, Danny was cloned by the GIW but didn't know, when his friends (and parents if the bad reveal turned out to be false) came to rescue him and destroy the facility, the clone with all of his memories also escaped (believing themselves to be the original), none of them the wiser. The clone sought out their connection to the Waynes, believing that returning home wouldn't be safe. Team Phantom (and/or Fentons) only discovered the clone's existence a few days later while combing through the data they stole from the GIW facility and then immediately set out to find the lost clone.
Tucker (and/or Fenton parents) created a bracelet to mask Danny's ecto-signature to prevent the GIW from finding him again, and had the brilliant idea to use the boomerang to find the clone since it couldn't track Danny now. (Or they tested the effectiveness of the bracelet with the boomerang, which took a hard left and disappeared off to the east. After discovering the existence of the clone, they had a collective ‘oh shit’ moment and quickly accessed the boomerang’s gps data to track it down.)

Prompt 182
Danny and Wes find themselves in the DC world after a portal incident. No they aren’t speaking about it, why would they need to? The issue is that they’re younger than they should be and it’s a lot harder to do things to try and get back home when people try to get them to go with them or go to the police or whatever.
It’s not like they’re actually five year olds- they were almost graduating! One more week of school! ONE! So maybe they’re salty about it and maybe they both have latched onto each other as the literal only familiar thing in this situation. They don’t have co-dependence, really!
But still, they have things to do! So if people could stop trying to stop them in concern that would be great! Aren’t big cities supposed to be horrible or something?!
#Dcxdp#Dpxdc#Prompts#Danny is his universe version of Superman#Wes is their universe version of Lex Luthor#Fun fact Lex did in fact used to have red hair lol#This WILL lead to misunderstandings#They just want to get home#Danny is only stopped from being a feral badger by the fact Wes is holding his hand#They’re a little co-dependent but they’re sure it’s FINE#It’ll all be fine once they get home#... they can get home again… right….?#Why yes people close to the DC world's versions of them mistake the two for secret love children#Or clones#Or even secret love children from another timeline#There are many misunderstandings

Gotta love when folks write Superman incredibly anti-clone even though he had good reason in the beginning to Not Like Superboy (HES A WINDOW INTO WHAT CLARK WOULD HAVE BEEN WITHOUT THE KENTS) and decide that forever on he’ll be spiteful towards clones even though he literally Does Not Care if you’re a clone unless you’re Superboy.

DCx DP/DP x DC idea that won't let me be!
So, you know how Lois, Clark, and Jon migrated over from their dying universe to the current one?
WHAT IF: Danny was an alternate universe version of Jon Kent.
What if, in that other doomed universe, that version of Lois and Clark could only figure out how to get their child to safety and made the same choice Jor-El and Lara made—life for their son, even if it was with others.
I don't have much more than that beyond a basic run-in with Superboy and Robin, with Robin immediately wondering if his friend superhero partner had been cloned and if that clone was hostile, like his had been.
#dc x dp#dp x dc#btw if anyone wants to run with this they can!#clark would be very concerned—and also worried this is another connor situation.#connor is happy because 'hey! clone solidarity!'#It would also explain Vlad fucking up the danny clones for the most part—it wasn't just midmorph DNA issues#it was trying to deal with kryptonian DNA

There’s a special place in my heart for Role Switching in fics or whatever where the character plays different roles (like civilian and vigilante) and the reference to them changes in the narrative. I don’t see it a lot for happier moments, but it’s always cool for me.
Like something devastating happens, Dick has crumpled on the floor and going through it emotionally, then Nightwing stands up and gets to work.
Or Robin stiffens before Damian melts/breaks down.
Batman is a terrifying figure, looming over everything and casting shadows when Bruce kneels down and offers a helping hand.

I Will Forever Love You Chapter 3
Masterpost Prev
Thanks for all the kind words everyone, it's really helped keep my motivation up even though my schedule is absolutely crazy!
On to chapter 3:
Damian woke from his slumber as soon as the sun came up. Instead of remaining under his covers, he made his way to the restroom to prepare for the day. It was Saturday, yes, but weekends never meant relaxation for those in Wayne Manor. He grabbed his toothbrush, and, after lathering it to perfection, he began brushing his teeth. Slowly, Damian’s green eyes made their way to his reflection. His hand slowly came to a stop, and so he pulled the toothbrush from his mouth. His lips twitched down, so he stopped staring, stopped searching for a boy that shared his face and simply finished his morning routine.
Once he was dressed, Damian sat on his bed. He reached underneath his mattress, pulling out a well-worn book. Damian allowed his fingers to trace the title: Cosmos by Carl Sagan. Even though he had no interest in the subject, he had read this book dozens of times. He flipped open the cover and stared at his neat handwriting, the last words his brother had ever spoken to him stared back at him. He sat in that manner for a good ten minutes, before flipping to the page that his bookmark currently resided on. He allotted himself twenty more minutes before he once again closed the novel. Damian never understood Danyal’s obsession with stars and the universe, but it was now the only way he could be close to his twin. Before he could carefully put the book back in its resting place, there was a knock on his door.
“Baby Bird, I know you’re up!” Richard was knocking incessantly, so Damian placed his most prized possession on his desk, just out of sight of anyone that stood in the doorway. He opened the door, and Richard was immediately in his personal space. “Come on, the family’s going out for breakfast this morning, Alfred’s orders.” Damian cursed internally, if the butler had ordered they be seen in public for breakfast, then there was no possibility of not going. He allowed himself to be pulled out of his room, but not before shooting Danyal’s book a look of regret. He would have to place it back under his mattress when they returned, he just hoped Richard had not seen it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dick pulled Damian down the stairs, not letting him go until he was under Alfred’s watchful eye. He laughed to himself, knowing there was no way for him to slip away now. He pulled out his phone, already setting his plot in motion. He shot off a quick text to Tim.
Dickie: wanna mess with Dames?
Timber: always
Timber: what did you have in mind?
Dickie: there was a book sitting on his desk, cosmos or something
Dickie: I gots to know if he’s got a thing for astronomy
Timber: dude
Timber: no way, it’s worn and there’s writing in it
Timber: I am not getting attacked by demon brat again
Dickie: ugh fine what’s it say?
Dick opened the picture that Tim sent, and he had to stifle the sound rising in the back of his throat. I will forever love you -D. What was that doing written in one of Baby Bird’s books? It was his handwriting, that’s for sure. But Damian never said I love you, none of them did. Which, okay, maybe he should put some effort into that, but there’s no way that book was meant for anyone. It was old and worn, and Dick could make out what seemed to be a bookmark at the top of the picture. Did he get it from someone? He must have, but the only person whose name started with D in this family aside from Damian were Dick and Duke, and he didn’t give him the book and Duke sure as hell didn't give it to him. He came to the conclusion that this would require further investigation, then sat down and waited for the rest of the family.
Tim came into the kitchen after Duke, Cass trailing behind him. He caught Dick’s eye, but he simply raised an eyebrow as he made his way to the coffee pot. The door flung open, and if the people in the room had been any other family, they would have jumped. As it was, five sets of eyes turned to look at Jason as he wore a large grin. As time continued forward, the Pit Rage had calmed to a point where he only had episodes a couple times a month. With the knowledge that he had better learned to control it and it was happening less often, Jason had once again started hanging around the manor. Alfred must have invited him to breakfast, as he joined everyone else in waiting for Bruce.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Slipping into the limo with the rest of his family, Tim allowed himself to take some time to consider what he had done that morning. He had been so ready to use Cosmos to tease Damian, but as soon as he saw the state of the book and the neatly written words just inside the cover, he had decided against it. Obviously, the novel was important to Damian, but due to the lack of anything else related to astronomy in his room, he had to guess it was for more personal reasons. If the youngest of the Bats was anything, it was less than receptive when it came to talking about personal matters. He also didn’t want to give Damian any reason to start attacking him again. Sure, it had been years since the last time he was on the stabby end of his katana, and they had gotten to a point where Tim was comfortable teasing him, but he didn’t want to risk anything. If it had only been a book that showed the beginnings of a new hobby, then he would’ve gone to town on the annoying big brother role. But it was obvious from the old, definitely overused pages, that it was something more than that.
Dick would try to pry. He always tackled opportunities to get to know more details about any of his siblings; but Tim would stay out of this. Honestly, he just hoped that he had managed to get the book back exactly as it had been left. Damian was perceptive, and he would definitely notice if his possessions were left even a centimeter out of place. They all would.
“Allioop!” Dick came flying through the door, sprawling out across Tim and Jason, who had sat in the space beside him. Tim swatted at Dick’s hair, and Jason started lightly slapping at his stomach.
“Get off, Dickface! Sit like a normal person, next to met not on me!” Jason was grumbling, a scowl sitting on his features. The fondness that was in his eyes was covered, but not unnoticeable to anyone that was in the vehicle. Tim took that second to check and sure enough, everyone had piled in during his musings. Cass, Damian, and Duke (who was snickering into his hand, the traitor) were sat on the opposite end of the limo, and Bruce was sat in the passenger seat next to Alfred.
Dick pulled himself off of his brothers and threw his arm across his forehead, leaning against the seat and the door. “Oh woe is me, no one appreciates my fun.” He cracked an eye open, and the look he shot towards Jason and Tim was one filled with mirth and amusement.
“I would refute, Richard, but your ‘fun’ often ends with you acting as a if you are a kicked puppy.” All eyes shot to Damian, because holy shit he just dissed one of them in a non-demeaning way. And was that a smile tugging at his lips? It was barely there but – oh my god, it was. Tim’s mouth dropped, because was the demon brat acting like part of the family? “Don’t strain yourself, Drake.” Damian’s tone was biting again, but the ghost of a smile was still on his face, so all Tim could do was make a choking noise as he snapped his jaw shut and looked out the window.
Well, maybe breakfast wouldn’t be a complete disaster.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bruce made his way to the grandfather clock once they were back at the manor. He allowed himself a small smile, thinking back to the way his children had bickered and teased each other at the restaurant. He was delighted when he had seen Damian having to hold back a laugh after Dick’s fork had been drenched in syrup curtesy of Jason. He was finally beginning to feel as though his family was almost whole with the return of Jason and the breaking down of Damian’s walls.
After slipping into his costume, Bruce set to work. He wanted to sigh, but Tim and Dick had just walked into the cave, whispering at each other. He raised his eyebrow at the hushed tones that stopped once they were in earshot of him. He would have to look into that later, collaborating in whispers between his children never led to positive outcomes.
“Whatcha working on?” Dick never was one to be subtle, but he welcomed the olive branch. He would need help with this case, his suspect was eluding him at every turn, and it was starting to wear on him.
“Vlad Masters.” He already had his files pulled up, so he clicked on the tab that had a picture of the man. He glared at the screen, hoping that the missing piece would reveal itself by just staring at the picture for a little longer. “He’s gone from low millionaire to high billionaire in just under two years. None of his business partners remember their meetings, only that they signed away at least half of their company before he was gone.”
“You think he’s drugging them? Or maybe mind control?” Tim was taking his spot at the batcomputer, already starting his review of the files. Dick was watching over his shoulder, and he hoped that maybe they could find something they didn’t.
Suddenly, Damian was flying over the edge of the stairs and hurling towards them. Bruce simply turned to look, and Dick was ducking away from the 16-year-old’s fist. “Did either of you imbeciles go in my room?” Damian’s tone was angry, though he didn’t attack again. He was getting better at controlling his temper, it seemed. Though, with the way Tim’s shoulders were ever so slightly tense, he guessed that he was the culprit.
“Uh, yeah. It was me. Sorry, Dames, I wandered in this morning on accident. No sleep last night and no coffee yet. You know me. I think I nudged something on your desk, and that’s what kickstarted my brain. I left as soon as I noticed.” Tim’s voice was cool, but Bruce could detect the way his voice was just barely higher than normal. So, he was lying about the reason, then. He would have to ask later.
Damian visibly relaxed, though he was still holding himself with respect. “Fine. Just do not repeat that mistake again in the future, or I will have your fingers.” With that, he was leaving the cave as quickly as he had come down. No doubt Alfred was forcing him to do his homework before he began any work in the cave.
Bruce turned towards Tim with a raised eyebrow and the question on his face. “I saw something I shouldn’t have.” Huh, he must feel pretty guilty about it if he wasn’t even going to try to lie. “Just a book with a message. No big.” Tim was once again looking through the files on Masters.
“Have you looked at any of his connections yet?” Bruce grunted, a silent yes. “What about those from college? It doesn’t seem like he has that many friends, though there’s a couple he used to spend his time with while he was getting his degree.” Another grunt, this time signaling that no, he had not checked his college friends out just yet. Tim opened another tab and pulled up a picture of a large man with black hair next to a shorter woman with ginger hair. They were both wearing ugly jumpsuits. Tim continued to scroll, and it was only a couple pictures down that they stopped.
It was a picture of the Fenton family in a lab. Their daughter, 17 at the time of the picture if Bruce had to guess, was a perfect mix of her parents. She was tall, probably close to 6 feet, with teal eyes and the same hair color as her mother. It was the son that had garnered their attention, though. Because staring at them through the screen was Damian, but a Damian with eyes the exact same shade of blue as Bruce’s and a large grin. His hair was longer, and he was wearing a black hoodie with stains and a ghost symbol hovering over the word ‘Boo!’, but there was no mistaking the skin tone, or the eye shape, or the nose. That was Damian’s face with an unknown expression and different eyes, and it took the three men in the room longer to collect themselves than it should have.
“Please tell me you’re seeing what I’m seeing.” Dick was the first to speak, his eyes shifting between Bruce and the boy on the screen. “Please tell me I’m not going crazy and seeing Dami in the place of a completely different kid.”
“You’re not going crazy.” Tim’s reply was shallow, garbled by the confusion that laced his features. Bruce wasn’t sure what to make of this situation, but Tim was already tapping away, pulling up all the information that he could. “Daniel James Fenton. Age 16. He was adopted by the Fenton family seven years ago… today. He didn’t give anything other than his first name. Just wandered into Amity Park, Illinois with a… with a sword?”
“Hn.” Bruce wanted to lean towards the clone theory, but what would the League of Assassins have to gain with creating a clone of Damian and then sending him to American for seven years?
“It could just be a coincidence, you know.” Dick was calming himself down, his breathing was slowing. “There are supposed to be seven people in the world that look like you.”
“Yeah, plus, look at his eyes. They aren’t the same color!” Tim was almost screaming now. “Totally just a coincidence.”
“Yeah, but that blue is the exact same as Bruce’s…” Dick was leaning forward onto the chair now, careful not to knock Tim off balance. “We… we have to look into this. What if Bruce has another kid!”
“Yeah, but the age… Dames would’ve told us if he had a twin, right?” None of them could answer that question. Damian was a lot of things, but open about his past was not one of them. If the documents were real, then that means that Daniel was out of the League a year before Damian. There was no way to know for sure, and Bruce was positive he would not get the answers from his son.
“Where are the Fenton’s now?” The best course of action was to try and find Damian’s lookalike. They could do DNA testing once they did that.
“They’re… on their way to Gotham for a convention?” Tim had pulled up security footage and the Fenton’s public schedule. “The Paranormal Physiology and Biology Convention, to be exact. It seems both Maddie and Jack, the parents, have doctorates in paranormal ecto-biology, and the daughter, Jasmine or Jazz, is currently attending Gotham University for a degree in Psychology.” Okay, they were on their way to Gotham. So, getting a DNA sample to run would be easier than originally anticipated, unless he was trained by the League. That would make this plan more difficult than anticipated.
“Find out where they will be in Gotham. Then I want you to try and get a DNA sample so we can run tests and figure out whether he’s a clone. If we’re lucky, he might be willing to help us build a case against Masters.” Bruce was heading for the batmobile now. He needed to think. Either there was a clone of his son living in Illinois for the past seven years, or he had another son that had been free of the League.
He isn’t sure which one would be better.
