Danny was a complete and utter brat.

Somehow, even with no memories, he was determined to protect the woman that had a large hand in raising him. He hugged Jazz’s leg and sobbed, wiping his tears on her calf.

“I don’ wan’ him here! Make him leave!” Danny cried big fat tears like Jason was torturing him. Jazz, thankfully, was not fooled by his crocodile tears and she hid a sigh before reaching down to pick him up. She rubbed his back as she shared a raised eyebrow with Jason, whose eye was starting to twitch.

“Aww, baby, it’s okay. Shhh, shhhh, mean ol’ Jason won’t bother you… I’m here, remember?” She cooed, rubbing her cheek along Danny’s head as he sobbed into her arms.

Jason felt a strange mixture of envy, awe, irritation, and dumbfounded disbelief. It was amazing to watch Jazz comfort a child and he suddenly had a strange moment of baby fever, despite them not even dating, but at the same time, this entire situation was just bizarre…

He caught Danny’s eyes, and the toddler glared viciously at him like he wanted to eat his bones before his face wrinkled into another teary sob and he sniffled out, “Make him go ‘way!”

“Aww, Jay won’t hurt you! He isn’t going to bother us, Danny,” Jazz immediately defended him, which made him happy, but now her expression was a little worried.

Jason just stared at the little boy who was actively trying to trick his sister into kicking him out of the apartment in horror. Danny bared his teeth, his eyes flashing coldly before he whimpered and hid his tears on Jazz again. She rocked him back and forth, just murmuring sweet nothings.

Well. Two could play that game.

“Jazz, it’s alright. I can leave if you want,” Jason interrupted her soothing murmurs. “If I’m bothering him… I can always come back another time.”

He let his eyes go downcast and looked away, the perfect image of a pitiful dog left out in the rain.

Jazz gasped and then stammered, “Jason, no…! Well, he’s just— it’s not that— I mean….”

“Jazz, it’s alright,” Jason said softly. For a moment, he felt a little bad that Jazz was in the middle of their fight, but his honor was on the line and he refused to back down from a toddler’s clumsy manipulations. “I’ll come back later. I don’t want to antagonize him, especially since he doesn’t remember much anyways…”

Jazz looked even more forlorn than usual. “Oh…” she said, squeezing Danny tighter as she bit her lip to think of a solution.

Jason met eyes with Danny, who looked rightly horrified that the situation was not looking good for him.

He smirked and Danny looked even more terrified, his little blue eyes wide.

Never let it be said that Jason was not petty.

After all, all was fair in love and war.

while we're on the topic though, college!au feixiao got in on a sports scholarship and does sport science as her major. she's president of the taekwondo club and the college's star tk athlete. you can usually find her training with moze, another member of the tk club, while their friend jiaoqiu, who's doing his phd in nutrition, sits nearby and studies. despite spending almost an unhealthy amount of time in the gym she's still incredibly smart, and gets pretty good grades in her academics. she's your PT if you hit the gym with her, and she makes the BEST workout plans i just know it!!! reassures you the whole time as you start out and is super excited when you can move on to bigger weights. for her, she loves using YOU as her weights. she has you sit nice and pretty on her hips while she does hip thrusts OR has you sit on her back while she does push-ups. gets a little cheeky when it comes to sit-ups, because she'll make you hold her feet down and then surprise you with a kiss when she comes up.

she lets you borrow her varsity jackets because she LOVES the way you drown in them, how they're so big they hang off your shoulders and how your fingertips are barely visible by the end of the sleeves. if you're both taking a break from studying she'll drive you out (secondhand supra, white and teal coating, custom tuned ECU on top of a whole lot of other mods she managed to weasel in by interning at her uncle huaiyan's shop back in high school) for a late night tea run. she prefers fruit teas, and maybe you'll both get an ice cream to share. and if you fall asleep in the car on the way back, she'll drape her jacket over you and maybe secretly snap a picture that you'll later find set as her phone wallpaper.

Hello again! It’s me: the anon who asked that question about “Quiet Eyes”. I’ve been visiting your blog a lot lately (I hope that doesn’t sound weird lol 😓) bc I really like the posts you reboot or write that have writing tips/prompts. Writing is one of this things that I both hate and love 😩 but going through your blog tends to reignite my passion for it! Anyways, I wanted to ask: what got you into writing and if I could be 🌺 Hibiscus anon?

I'm so happy you like the prompts! I always worry when I post or reblog stuff not related to fanfic because I feel like I should have sideblogs with dedicated themes like most people do rather than post fanfic/prompts/art/photography all in one chaotic place. Then again I share stuff mostly so I can go back through my own blog at a later date and it's all in one place, so, whatever I guess haha.

I'm so happy I ignite your passion! I gotta say, if you don't have a love/hate relationship with writing, you're not a writer. Like I hate how slow I write and that my ideas are usually just the same tropes with different characters and my WIPs constantly plague me and I don't know how clear my writing comes across to others and and and. . .

But I love how I can make anything I want by writing and I love how it can make people feel and I love how much work I put into making my writing better and so on, so yeah, I love and hate writing too!

I got into writing when I was about 10 because I've always had a really active imagination and my dreams have always been very imaginative so I started by writing them down so I wouldn't forget them because some of them were pretty neat. Then I was like "I gotta add this to it, and this, and that" and that became my first word doc. Then I got really into the warrior cats series and created a storyline with my own characters, which I think had like 20-30 original characters and got to about 60 pages single-spaced on word, so that was my first fanfic!

Then writing became an outlet for the shows I got really into. I think bleach was one of the first?? One look at Renji and I was gone haha! I'd get little crushes on the characters and couldn't talk to anybody about it because my family and everyone at school made fun of me for watching anime, so I wrote to get it out of my system in a private way, and now I've evolved into having tropes I like and having (countless) WIPS and I've made a blog I'm proud of! I even recently discovered I kinda like a bit of whump, which has become its own journey since a lot of people think its weird and gross (I'm not even that bad, I only like cute whumpee-caretaker stuff, so).

Early on I came up with the philosophy that writing was like a superpower. If I write well enough, I can make people imagine and feel anything I want. I can make people fly and fall in love and never age and go to war and find peace. It's still pretty much just a creative outlet and a way I can put myself into the stories and with the characters I like so much, but I share my stuff in case anyone else would like to read them too.

Don't get discouraged. Write for yourself, not for others. Write what you want and when you want simply because you want to. When you don't want to write, then don't. That's why I don't really do requests and only post a new fic once in a while. It also means that I still write even when I don't get the number of likes or comments or reblogs I would like or anticipated. How much or how little interaction my blog or fics get isn't why I write, so it doesn't affect me that much. Sure I'd like to have 1000 followers and get asks like this every day, but I'm happy with what I've got. I hope you can be, too!

P.S. Just know that I'm saving this ask to remind myself that I have a positive influence on people for when I don't feel very motivated, so thank you for this

HE WOULD LOVE YOU SO MUCH . i genuinely can’t overstate this i think a sleepy little reader is one of his favorites actually …… he just melts when he’s around you. suguru finds it so rewarding when his s/o falls asleep around him because it proves that you feel safe with him, that you trust him . and it makes him feel like a big scary guard dog and a warm pillow all at once <333 (number one most likely jjk man to fall in love the first time you fall asleep on his shoulder in a crowded train . i’m sorry but it has to be said)

and if you’re the type who’s sleepy often it just makes him melt even more …. he’s so fond of your droopy eyes and little yawns :(((( gets the happiest, most smug little smile on his lips when you start dozing off and clinging to his sleeve . he loves everything about it. loves being your headrest, loves carrying you to bed, loves watching your chest rise and fall while lying next to you. he has trouble sleeping but he swears just watching you snooze so happily makes it easier for him to do the same …..

Last song: At the moment, I have "Losing Your Memory" by Alan Star stuck in my head, which I suppose makes it my current song, not my last song. Hm. I get songs stuck in my head very easily, but the last one I had there for a significant amount of time was a mashup of different language versions of "Les Rois du Monde" for about a week. "Lehetsz Király", the Magyar version, is probably my favorite of them. It's worth a listen.

Currently watching: Normally, the answer would be "random mostly terrible old movies/shows" or "nothing much", but I currently have a hyperfixation on the musical Roméo et Juliette and have been watching it in multiple languages. (Thus, the song).

Three ships: This is hard. Maybe as a result of being on the ace and aro spectrums, I'm more likely to care about which characters are interacting than whether it's romantic or platonic. Here goes:

Kedivere/Bedikay. It can be romantic, platonic, or queerplatonic, but whichever way, I'm here for it. I probably spend too much time thinking about how in Cullwch and Olwen, when Cai gets mad at Arthur and marches out, Bedwyr stays behind, keeps acting like nothing's happened, and isn't the one to avenge Cai's death. The feeling of betrayal on both sides has a lot of unexplored potential. And the version where Bedivere dies and Kay fights to bring his body back safely while mortally wounded himself... And the version where Bedivere survives Camlann and Kay isn't said to fight in it, so they might be left together after their world has fallen apart...

Platonically or queerplatonically, Galahad and the Grail Heroine. I really like the tragic Grail Quest friendships, but I like theirs most, maybe because there's something weird and otherworldly about them both. I like it when characters are strange and endearing and doomed by the narrative.

Ever since reading John Matthews' retelling, which I read before the original, I've had a soft spot for Caradoc and Guinier. The Story of Caradoc is very disturbing, and I have some major qualms with Caradoc over a detail Matthews cut out, but all the same, there's a reason these two have the best track record with magical fidelity tests. Each of them would go to the ends of the earth for the other, and together, they're stronger than any curse.

Favorite Color: Blue, particularly royal blue and some teals.

Currently consuming: Black licorice with chocolate.

First ship: This is a hard one, since through elementary and most of middle school, I tended to go along with whatever I thought the author's intentions were and was more likely to unship something. The first non-endgame ship I got invested in was Sonya/Nikolai in War and Peace. I didn't like Nikolai, but Sonya did, and she was my favorite character, so I wanted her to be happy. The first non-canon couple I thought was meant to be together was also in War and Peace: Marya Bolkonskaya and Julie Karagina. My eighth grade self did not think their letters could be interpreted platonically. I still don't.

Last movie: If the musical doesn't count, the last movie I watched was Quest for Camelot, which was awful. Though not Robot Monster-level bad, Robot Monster has an elegance to its simplicity which Quest for Camelot lacks.

Currently working on: Various fics, most of them Arthuriana or CotRK-related (I am woefully behind on the Badfic Bingo), and (theoretically) an epic-style poem, though I haven't gotten much of it written for quite a while now.
