What annoys me the most about this fandom is that people are always arguing about the most ridiculous things.

Why is it that we as a fandom seem to feel the need to attack each other for what we like and what we dislike.

Why does one character or ship have to be better than others?

If you don't ship something just keep scrolling. It takes more effort to open the comment section and leave a hate comment than to just find content that you do like. it's not that hard.

I think some people forget that we don't all have to agree. It's okay to ship a rare pairing that other people might find odd and it's okay to make a seemingly 'bad' character more three dimensional.

As long as its not harmful content that someone is making or consuming, why should it matter to you.

At the end of the day, it's all made up so who gives a damn.

I can like Regulus as a character without hating on lily because guess what, there is no reason to be constantly pitting them against each other. They are FICTIONAL.

Jegulus is not better than Jily or the other way around, they're just different.

I love Lily and the other female characters but it is possible for someone to dislike one of them and not for misogynistic reasons. Not everything is an attack on women.

Sometimes I like reading fics where certain characters I like are villanised because it seems funny, including Lily. That's not misogynistic. Especially not if I read ones where James or barty or sirius are the bad guy sometimes.

It's okay to like snape. I don't and you might not but that doesn't give you a right to attack the people who do.

What Im saying is, leave people alone and stop attacking them for having different opinions. If you're going to criticise a ship or character at least have the decency to do it in a place where the people who like said character or ship don't have to see it.

It really isn't that hard.

This fandom is supposed to be a free space to enjoy content you enjoy but sometimes doesn't feel like it because of the people who behave like their opinion should be fact and those who disagree can be harassed and bullied until they leave.

Just try to remember that just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's wrong.

perhaps he did like james. perhaps he also liked lily. perhaps he liked barty or evan or pandora or any of his other lil friends. who’s to say. i haven’t ever really known or loved him as a character & ppl have a lot of opinions ab how he’s portrayed & who he’s shipped with & i didn’t want to mess with that lolol, so whether you’re a jegulus fan or prefer jegulily or bartylus or whatever they’re calling the other ships nowadays, u can probably justify it somewhere in the fic

but tbh he probably won’t be in part 2 much. even w the little bits of him i did write he’s a complicated little fucker in my head & his relationship w sirius is kind of a can of worms that’s hard to pick through, so for the most part i like to keep him on the back burner as the annoying little brother & leave it at that lmaooo

Do you have any favorite headcanons about Barty and Antonin's relationship?

I have toooo many. Also I think I’m like the only person who ships them 😅

They’ve known each other since they were 11 - they’re in the same dorm (both in Slytherin house)

Antonin is a pretty closed-off person who likes to keep to himself and finds Barty extremely annoying for most of school, since Barty is pretty much the complete opposite.

They don’t really talk much throughout most of school because of the fact that Barty is kinda scared of Antonin, and Antonin thinks Barty is annoying.

Barty goes through a really horrible breakup in sixth year (with Regulus, who is also Barty’s best friend) so he has nobody to talk to. Barty and Antonin are partners in Potions, though they never say more than two words to each other, but during this particular lesson Antonin notices Barty is crying.

He hesitantly starts a conversation.

This eventually leads to a very slow burn friendship, most of which Antonin pretends he doesn’t like Barty, but it’s clear he has a soft spot for him.

Eventually they start developing romantic feelings for each other, but again, it takes a long time for them to admit their feelings.  Especially since Antonin is not good at expressing his emotions.

Finally, they admit how they feel but they decide not to rush into anything.  Barty doesn’t want to date another one of his best friends because of what happened last time and how painful it would be if things didn’t work out.

After a while, they can’t go much longer without being a couple because they’re both falling pretty hard for each other.

They get together at long last, and it’s a really adorable relationship at first but because they’re both extremely different, tensions start to arise pretty quickly.

From there I have a couple of different headcanons for when they finish Hogwarts:

The Death Eater Route:

Barty isn’t really that sure about what he wants to do in the future, all he knows is that he doesn’t want to follow in his father’s footsteps (he has a really bad relationship with his father). Antonin has a lot of pressure from his family to join the Death Eaters, and he is happy to join because that’s what his parents expect of him (he’s a mummy’s boy).  He eventually convinces Barty to join with him because they’d get to spend more time together and Barty would get a chance to piss his dad off. 

After a while of being Death Eaters, Barty slowly starts to become more and more broken. He hates the way being a Death Eater makes him feel.  He enjoys hurting people and he enjoys killing people, and he feels like he’s lost himself.  Their relationship gets more and more strained as they argue a lot due to this - “you shouldn’t have joined if you couldn’t handle it”/”you made me join!” - and maybe they break up? Things most likely follow canon from here on out.

The non-Death Eater Route:

After Hogwarts, they move in together. Barty has a Muggle job and Antonin likes to experiment with potions and make his own recipes etc. They’re pretty happy together but they do fight a lot, and even though their relationship is very hard to maintain due to the stark differences in their personalities, they love each other so much that they always manage to make it work.

After a few years together, Antonin asks Barty to marry him and of course Barty says yes.  They have a Star Wars themed wedding (because Barty is obsessed with Star Wars), and Reg is the best man.  

After another year or so they decide to have kids. There’s some magical way for two guys to have a baby using both of their genes, but anyway they have two kids. And this is another big test for them because: -- Antonin is not very good at expressing feelings -- Barty hated his dad so doesn’t know what it means to be a good dad -- They can’t agree on parenting techniques -- They blame each other every time something bad happens -- They stress out too much that their kids will turn out just like them

But honestly, their kids are very smol and they’re actually doing a great job even if they don’t know it.

I could go ON and ON here. This is probably too much detail for a pairing that hardly anyone ships 😂
