inktober day 9: dragon ball

ann is a lesbian fag hag and shiho is clearly her girlfriend. the game doesn't let you back out of romancing her but most generous reading i can give is that she and joker start dating because all their friends said they should and come out soon after.

haru is the empress and joker is the court eunuch whispering (obvious) advice in her ear. futaba's crush on joker makes sense in that she imprints on him like a baby duck, but the infatuation will fade once her social circle expands. yoshizawa has similarly cast joker as her knight in shining armor, but soon realizes he's better gbf material. makoto is an autistic lesbian.

ryuji hasn't figured out he's gay yet and overcompensates by being homophobic and sexist. yusuke is out and proud and, much like the other love interests in the game, believes the ball is now in joker's court to make the next move. akechi is gay and homophobic.

Oh my God I'm in love with this!!

Like absolutely Ian would be that gay boy working at Victoria's secret. I feel like if he worked on commission he'd be such a good salesman and get so many upsells or just huge purchases from being able to be eye candy and a stand-in gbf for the ladies.

Mickey is always hanging around the tills with Ian, shooting the shit when he's bored cause nothing is going on. He'll be chatting with Ian and someone will make some passive aggressive remark about him changing the energy in the store, implying like he shouldn't be in there if he's a straight dude, like just perving on girls, so when he says goodbye to Ian he tugs him down for the most ridiculously lurid kiss, and gives him a smack on the ass for good measure, "Catch you in the food court, carrot top."

Lunches at the food court 🥰🥰🥰 I legit stupidly love food court food and I just want Mickey to be able to get all his favorites sitting in the pretty glass atrium with an orange Julius and a crazy overfilled combo from Panda Express or the teriyaki/stir fry places that are in every food court, shake shack, auntie Anne's, cinnabon, Ian gets pissed when he eats Chick-fil-A, but the franchise owner is actually really cool and chill. Ian still tells him he's eating homophobe chicken.

Ok but also also, I love the idea of Mickey in a cute little security uniform, patrolling around, looking cute and soft and suburban. But now I also want Ian to get him into some lingerie 🤤🤤🤤 like Mickey's big fat ass in some knickers or boy shorts, and popped into a pushup bra, like ughhh check please!!

2023 Fic Writer Year In Review (Part 1)

These came from this ask post here, but I felt like answering them in chunks on my own, similar to what I did in 2022. I was a lot happier this year. :D

Answers 1-10 under the cut!

What’s something new that you tried in a fic this year? How did it turn out and would you do it again?

Messing with formatting and POV in "An Act of Husbandry" (Virche Evermore, Scien/Ceres)! I think it turned out great, thanks to the Despair Ending that inspired it having a lot to work with. I definitely want to try it again!

2. How many fics did you work on this year? (They don’t have to be finished or published!)

...I have no idea, actually. ^^; A lot? Let's go with that, yeah.

3. What’s something you learned about yourself as a writer?

Being honest with what I want to write makes the act of writing go so much easier. Also a lot of things I thought I'd never consider writing I absolutely would if given the right characters.

4. What piece of media inspired you the most?

A lot of media, not even ones that I wrote fic for! Cupid Parasite wound up being a huge inspiration just for how it handled the different "love types" in each route so effectively. Baldur's Gate 3 has helped me put into context how I want to write Legato in Ligature. Virche Evermore has made me adore visual novels as a medium more than ever. Anne Rice's books once again reminded me of why I write in the first place...I could go on. XD

5. What fandom(s) did you write for this year?

Alphabetically: Berserk, Death Note, Granblue Fantasy, Trigun ('98 and Stampede), Touken Ranbu, What in Hell is Bad?, and Virche Evermore.

6. What ship(s) captured your heart?

This was the year of Legato x A Good Chunk of Trigun's Cast, with special mention going to Legato x Vash, Legato x Meryl and Legato x Knives x Vash. Allan x Lynette from Cupid Parasite also occupied my thoughts a lot, but I didn't feel the need to write fic for them. ^^; Also, coming in at the end of the year: is that Scien x Ceres from Virtue Evermore with a steel chair?! Yes it is, and I've never been happier to be bludgeoned.

7. What character(s) captured your heart?

Legato waited 10+ years before setting up shop in my heart and I still don't know what happened. Later, Scien kicked down the door and Ceres apologized before also stepping in too.

...Also, I feel it's worth mentioning, but good lord was this ever Belial's year as well, even more so than the last five. Confound this man and his ability to make anything sexy as long as he's involved!!

8. Did you write for a new fandom or ship this year?

With the exception of Berserk, GBF and Touken Ranbu, they were all new this year! (And even GBF had new faces, like Lodi.) In general I let myself run wild.

9. What fic meant the most to you to write?

...Hmm. It says something that there are so many contenders this year, doesn't it? Every time I think I have an answer, two more options appear. In general, there were points where I really felt characters' emotions as I wrote, and I hope readers felt the same.

10. What fic made you feel the happiest to work on?

Again, a really hard question! XD But I do have an easy answer for that: Baby Princess Training Diary (GBF, Belial x Lyria and Belial x Lyria x Djeeta, rated E). It's a combo of being happy that I finally knew what I wanted out of it, and also just...I love Lyria so much and wanted her to have the best possible time, "even" in a kinky, dubcon story like this one. For whatever reason, she brings out Belial's most Dangerously-Caring Boyfriend Energy, and there are moments in this where I had to look away because they were so cute together! And adding Djeeta into the mix made it all the sweeter. It just wouldn't stop, even when it was time to edit. The fic itself isn't going to be to everyone's tastes, and I knew that, but still. It was just so fun...

the granblue girl yaoi... has intrigued me

is the rest of granblue interesting enough to try finding somewhere that has the text archived and giving it a read? I remember trying the game a few years ago due to seeing around online quite often and thinking it had a nice art style, but I didn't really get into the gameplay and ended up dropping it

the short answer is with the size of granblue, there's bound to be something for everyone, but it's a question of finding what you like in all the story, and then knowing places to read.

the long answer: if you're like me and willing to dig around to try to find the bits you like:

Character stories, the ones you get from having them and levelling them, can be found on gbf's wiki. go to their lore page, go to fate episodes, and bob's your uncle.

gbf wiki also has a story archive, though specifically for side stories, and noted as incomplete.

for the main story... you'd be best off going to youtube, i think, i don't know any sites that have it in full. just search chapter by chapter. some people do post in clusters (as main story has started to drop in such) like Accendo, but early stuff you may have to find one by one.

Since its the ladyloving you're interested in I would suggest side stories and character stories involving: Cupitan, naturally, Meg and Mari, Yuel and Societte, Katalina and Vira, Grea and Anne, De La Fille and Therese, Athena and Medusa, Athena and Enyo, Medusa and Satyr. There's more (I'm not counting the 'danchou lovers' that come to me off the top of my head) but it's a sample of folk who've stuck with me.

No Rain No Rainbow is just also a must-read event to me, because IMO while the writers can be sometimes hit or miss on 'sweeping' stories that have a lot of larger world implications ('Created by the Stars, Loved by the Skies' was a bit *hand wiggle* in terms of impact to me as an anni event but '...and you.' clotheslined me with how it explored the timeline/multiverse idea (at the heart. at the heart always love for you.)) they're very consistently good at those smaller, emotional stories.

personal gacha rant

just to get it out of the way; i've spent money on gacha games, and i know it's cringe and i feel shame about it.

currently i'm only playing fgo (global and jp) and arknights. and i've spent a generous amount of money on these games. which i do regret. for me it's mostly about trying to get the one character i really want. i do have my limits but i've also spent 300€ in one sitting.

i've played japanese mobile games for at least 10 years. it was a big hobby for me for many years. i don't remember exactly how many games i've played but to list a few; gbf, bandori, sb69, i-chu, t7s, idola, enstars, llsif. i also played browser games such as touken ranbu, shinken and kancolle.

i have other hobbies, but mobile games occupy a space that's hard to fill with something else when it's easily accessible and requires so little from the player. i think one of the reasons i got into mobile games when i was younger, was their accessibility. as someone who didn't own a gaming console or a personal computer and tried to stay away from home as much as possible at the time, mobile games were the go-to for me. of course there were some social influences through my friends playing, but for most of the time, i just seeked out games by myself to see what's interesting, but i played many games alone and without sharing it with anyone.

and honestly, it sucks and i feel guilty about it.

what kind of influenced my decisions was that, i like playing and getting a character i want will make me happier while playing. most of the time it's about acquiring a specific character but sometimes not even that.

for my global fgo account; i don't have any servants to meaningfully level up anymore. genuinely. like i have a few characters half way ascended and ann+mary left lvl 1 for meme gameplay usage but i don't have anyone to spend resources on, which can lead me to rolling the gacha even though i'm not that hyped for the character themselves. this happened for example on yang guifei's release where i got a dupe from the guaranteed summoning and i just wanted a new character to spend resources on.

i don't have any future plans to spend money on fgo, many of the popular characters releasing on global this year i already have on my jp account which definetly alleviates the fear of missing out. starting my jp account in general kind of helped me change my focus on servant gathering from the global server.

i'm trying to stay aware of my own time consumption and such, and i think my acknowledgement of mobile games and my relationship to them has improved. and the posts circulating the topic are good, but they kind of reflect my own shame. which is why i wanted to talk about it even for a moment.

i'm lucky to not have used up anymore money than i already have and to not have developed a more of a problem than it is. because it is a problem.

i genuinely like the games i'm currently playing, gameplay, characters and story and to keep on healthily playing in the future, i'll be trying my best to stay aware on the issues that gacha games present.

Mallrats (chapter 2)

"Do I really have to stand here and wait for you to try them all on? I-I have other stuff to do!" Tweek was standing with his arms crossed outside of the Victoria's Secret dressing room with Wends while Bebe tried on bras.

"What? It's not like they're going to kick you out. You're gay!" Bebe replied from inside. Tweek went red, looking around to see if anyone heard.

"Bebe we talked about that," Wends said, earning some slight pause from the girl inside the dressing room.

"Sorry Tweek," she replied, "I didn't mean to out you like that." Tweek just sort of shrugged, "But if you're really that uncomfortable, I can meet you guys at Anne's?" Wends looked to Tweek to answer.

"Yeah, I mean we can meet at Anne's. How long do you think you'll be?"

"Twenty minutes top babe, I literally just have a pick a good one for practice!" Bebe replied, so Tweek and Wendy headed to the second floor of the mall, to the Queen Anne's next to the Macy's. 

"Are you actually going to get pretzels this time?" Wends asked, looking at Tweek. "I'll eat a few of yours if you want, just to be sure."

"N-No…. Um, Craig gave me a cliff bar?" Tweek replied, scratching at his neck slightly. "And I'm not really hungry, anyway." Wends gave him a strange look.

"Okay, I mean first of all that's not enough… second of all, I don't believe you took anything from Craig." They replied, before giving him a worried smile. "I know it's hard, we can swing by your place and make you something after?" Tweek thought for a moment. By the time things were wrapped up here, his grandma's nurse would probably be going home, and she'd be in bed…

"Okay… but we have to be quiet. I-if that's okay-"

"Its more than okay! Honestly Tweek, do you want me to come over in the mornings to make sure you pack lunches?" Tweek shrunk away slightly. He didn't want to do that to Wends, that'd be such a huge burden on them… they already came to pick him up for school… "It's not going to be a problem Tweek. What's most important is your health and I'm wanting to help! It won't be a problem at all."

"...okay." Tweek said finally, leaning against the railing of the second floor. "D-did you want to get pretzels though?" He asked, fidgeting with the sleeves of his sweater. Wends shrugged, before shaking their head.

This was a typical after school outing for the three teens. Bebe almost always needed something at the mall, Wends liked to help her shop when they didn't have any club activities going on, and Tweek… well. Tweek just liked to feel included. He knew more than well that he wouldn't have any friends without these two. He could still remember when he came out in middle school and the two coolest girls in school approached him.

"You're like, gay, right?" Bebe had asked, running fingers through her curly blonde pigtails.

"Yeah b-but it's not a big de-"

"So are we! Wanna be friends?" Wends had interrupted him, seemingly eager to befriend someone with a similar situation.

And so their friendship had blossomed. Tweek knew that without the two of them, he'd be a completely friendless, weird, gay outcast hiding away in the art room. He was more than happy to keep their secrets, Bebe's lesbianism and Wends' genderfluidity were only things known by their closest friend group. Himself, Stan, Wends long time, though admittedly on and off boyfriend, and the rest of the girls. Heidi, Nichole, and Marjorine.

To the rest of the school, Bebe and Wends were two straight, Cis girls who had taken the quirky (a very generous term for what Tweek was,) gay boy under their wing and protected him from the social nightmares of public schooling. Although Tweek knew he didn't fit the typical "GBF" mold, he was grateful.

Bebe returned from the lingerie store, bags in tow to the Queen Anne's pretzels stand. "Oh my god, you guys will never guess who I saw on my way over!" The other blonde in the group started chattering. Apparently Jimmy and Nichole were at the comic book store together, or something. Tweek had to admit, he was only half listening. Bebe, ever the hawk eyed captian, noticed. "Tweek? What's up? Are you like… okay?"

"Um… yeah, just… " Tweek looked around for a second. "Do you guys think that Craig is really that much of an asshole?" He asked, fidgeting with his fingers.

"Ummmm… TT? Are you seriously asking us that right now?" Bebe asked before taking his hand and starting to walk them somewhere else.

"He literally brought up your parents today," Wends pointed out. "IN class! What if you had a panic attack?"

"... he apologized?" Tweek spoke up, "And I mean… we used to be friends?"

"Oh yeah, didn't you guys all like… hang out in elementary school?" Bebe asked, still walking them to the direction of the book store in the mall. 

"That was in elementary school! T… you can't seriously be thinking he's not a complete jerk. Remember when he tripped Clyde down the stairs and made him cry? In front of Bebe!" Tweek just shrugged as he was suddenly between aisles of books.

"I dunno… he was just nice to me today is all and maybe… y-yknow maybe he's not that much of an asshole? Maybe there's something underneath?" 

"Youre just wanting to think that because he's hot." Bebe replied, picking up a copy of Pretty Little Liars. "Did they ever find out who A is?"

"I-I do not think he's h-ho-hot!" Tweek squeaked out, going red under his freckles. 

"Are you kidding?" Bebe asked. "Ever since he got his braces off in like, freshman year all the girls have been fawning over him! If he wasn't such a dick, he could've had like, almost every girl in school!" 

Admittedly, acknowledging Craig's conventional attractiveness was a universal standard. The sky was blue, grass is green, and Craig Tucker was one of the hottest boys in school… but Tweek didn't think he was all that attractive. He liked guys personalities and well… Tweek didn't really know Craig's that well. He seemed like a complete dick, but he had been sweet to him when they were kids… and even earlier today, offering him food and apologizing, even seeming genuinely concerned about his lunch.

"Maybe he's not so bad… when was the last time you guys actually talked to him?" Wends and Bebe looked at each other. Wends gave him a concerned glance.

"I mean… He's mean as shit everytime he opens his mouth… I don't really want to talk to him."

"Me neither," Bebe agreed, "he also like, only gets along with guys, I dont think I've ever seen him talk to a girl that's not his sister, and they're like, flipping each other off all the time!" Tweek hummed.

"So…Maybe he's not all that bad if you got to know him?" Tweeks phone buzzed, and to his surprise, it was Kenny McCormick. "Hold on, Kenny's texting me?"

"Ew, delete his number." Bebe said.

Kenny: hey dude, u know Craig Tucker right?

Speak of the devil. "Ummm… Ke-Kennys asking about Craig?" Bebe and Wends looked puzzled.

"I swear, it's like Kenny can read minds or something…" Wends whispered, looking around the bookstore.

Tweek: I know of him

Kenny: lmao sorry, we're getting high right now and he keeps talking about u!

Kenny: I think he's got a little crush 😍 😏 

Tweek looked back up from his phone in complete confusion. "Craig's been talking about me?"

"Oh my god, don't respond! He's probably just making shit up!" Bebe put the book she had been looking at down, folding her arms over his chest.

"Bebe, Kenny's a lot of things, but he's not a liar," Wends pointed out, flipping through the pages of a book idly.

"O-oh fuck, this is too much pressure!" Tweek cried out, earning a few stares from passersby. "Do I t-text back? Oh god oh fuck-"

"Isn't Craig straight?" Bebe asked, and they all looked at each other for a moment.

"...I think he's in the closet," Wends replied, "not that it's okay to speculate in someone's sexuality-"

"No… he does kind of read as closeted," Tweek replied, calming down. "But I don't think he'd be into me,"

"What are you talking about? You're talented, funny, smart-"

"I look like a meth head." Tweek cut Wends off, running his hands through his wild blonde mullet. "I- I mean, I'm not a bad p-person but… don't you guys think…"

"You're heroine chic!" Bebe replied, "That's like, totally coming back!" Tweek shrugged, turning his attention back to his phone.

Kenny: he thinks u would make a pretty girl but we both know what that means lol

Tweek: I'm not dating a straight guy

Kenny: "straight"

Tweek: That's worse!

Kenny: Okay fine, give me until Saturday and I can get him to admit he has a crush on a guy

Kenny: ur the guy 

Tweek: It’s Thursday.

Kenny: oh ye of little faith! Give me and Eric an hour and we can play matchmaker

Tweek: PLEASE don't bring cartman into this!

Kenny: xoxo gossip girl

Tweek let out a groan, putting his phone back into his pocket. "I-I need to go home and sleep… K-Kenny said he and Eric are gonna play matchmaker…"

"We need to get you home to eat Tweek." Wends replied. "And besides, if Eric really does try anything, I'll just threaten to beat the shit out of him. You have nothing to worry about!" 

Tweek still thought he had plenty to worry about regardless, but he relented his protests for now. He didn't want to think about the absolute chaos Kenny and Eric would cause trying to get Craig to admit he was fruity. Right now he just needed to get out of here and go home…

Tweeks wish was granted as Wends drove him home, and they made sure to cook him something he would actually eat.

"I'm really sorry," Tweek whispered, doing his best not to wake his grandma.

"There's nothing to be sorry about," Wends replied, leaning on the counter as Tweek cut vegetables. "Do you need any help?" Tweek shook his head. 

"... Do you think Craig has a c-crush on me?" Tweek asked, starting to Sautee the vegetables.

"Maybe? It's hard to read Craig. It's not like I can ask anyone either, he's not in any clubs or anything…"

"Doesn't he do wrestling?"

"He quit the team last year… I don't know Tweek, I think he could. But do you really wanna date a guy who thinks he's straight?" Tweek had to think for a moment.

"No? But… I don't know, no one seems to really know anything about him other than he's a dick… Maybe I could try a-asking Jimmy? They still hang out." Wends just shrugged. Craig's whole group still hung out with each other… except Tweek. He couldn't remember why they stopped hanging out.. maybe they just drifted apart?

"Isn't he in a bunch of AP history classes too? Maybe you should ask Heidi if she knows, I think they have AP art history together." Wends offered, and Tweek just shrugged again. As far as he knew, Craig really didn't talk in class either. 

Maybe he could just ask him himself..?

The thought immediately made Tweeks breath hitch in his chest, and he shook his head to himself. Wends looked at him questioningly. Craig Tucker had too much of an intimidating presence, he was too unknown. He couldn't just talk to him! 

"Tweek?" Wends voice broke him out of his thoughts, and he jumped slightly.

"Sorry… I just um..  I-I think it might be best for me t-to stay away from him until.. until he figures himself out?"

"That's probably for the best." Wends agreed, "I gotta get home to do homework, but I'll be by in the morning okay?" Tweek nodded, and they said good bye to each other, Wends car pulling off into the sunset.

Tweek was still left in the home he used to share with his parents. It's not like he and his grandma had anywhere else to go to. But still, on nights like this, his mind couldn't distract itself from all the things that happened in these walls….

His phone buzzed, pulling Tweek out of his memories. He jumped up to grab his phone, desperate for a distraction.

Wends: Hey, Craig said you dropped some papers at lunch and he wants to get them back to you. Do you feel okay meeting him in the art hall tomorrow morning? Do you want me to come with you?

Shit. Fuck. Shit fucking shit fuck. Looks like his plan to just avoid Craig wasn't going to go all that smoothly after all. He sighed deeply. It was just returning his papers, it would take like five minutes. It totally wouldn't be weird. 

Tweek: Yeah that's okay I think I dunno I should be okay??

Wends: Are you sure? Say the word and I'll be there.

Tweek: I'm sure it'll be okay I think. I don't think he'll say anything bad

Wends: ….

Wends: you're right. He's probably just going to shove the papers at you and leave. Just let me know, okay? I'll pick you up a little earlier.

Tweeks: Thanks Wends

After thinking about it for a while I've decided to go on a date with Walder

He's kinda cute. Besides, I've been a fan of Kappei Yamaguchi's for a long, long time now, so much so that hearing him in Granblue fully took me out

Detective Conan was the first anime I ever really got into and the first manga I ever read and I'm so bummed out that I missed the DC Gbf crossover event. Also fun fact, Threo's VA, Minami Takayama, voices Conan, who is just Yamaguchi's character but de-aged, which is also so so funny to me

and yoo, i used to watch Detective Conan when i was younger, feeling you on being sad about missing the crossover, but i didn't know for the VAs, that's so cool.

All the more reasons to enjoy a good time with them ;D put them in a party together and tell yourself this is the Conan unit you're missing.

I love how my plan with Poisoned Honey was to work within the kinky worldbuilding Anne Rice had already laid out with the Sleeping Beauty Trilogy/Quartet...and then I remembered my id didn't align with hers. So now it's 50% Anne Rice's established worldbuilding (mostly locations, ex: the Training Hall) and 50% me adding my own, while trying to make it all fit within GBF's own setting...

...And then Lucifer's uncap episodes revealed that my backstory with Belial and Lucifer teaming up to "make love, not war" to the Sky Realm was a moment of over-literalness away from being real. (I hope canon!Belial would've been delighted by the Supreme Primarch's earnestness.) So now the above percentages are diluted with a bit of "This means I have more license to worldbuild re: the Primarchs constantly discovering new facets of mortal sexuality and comparing notes"! XD
