How did you end up working with Annabeth Gish?

I l’ve been a fan of hers since I got super into the X-Files in the mid 2000s. I liked her gravitas and I thought she was underutilized so it always makes me happy to see her regularly play characters with significant story impact.

Considering Annabeth’s presence the X-Files ref in Midnight Club (I was chanting ‘folie a deux! folie a deux!’ just before the kids named the episode) and Nicholas Lea in House of Usher, I’m beginning to think maybe you might be a fan of the show too.

I met Annabeth on BEFORE I WAKE. She had worked with my DP Michael Fimognari on another project and he was raving about her. We hit it off immediately and I knew I wanted to work with her again. I'm really grateful that she's part of the family. There is no one else like her, and she is a total joy both on and off set. And yes, I am absolutely a huge X-Files fan. HUGE. That show is one of the reasons I wanted to make movies, and I aspire to make television as good as some of those episodes are. If I ever make anything as good as JOSE CHUNG'S FROM OUTER SPACE I could retire happy
