What happened with you and cockles?

Well tbh around 2015 or something I stopped following Supernatural and a bit ater that I only occasionally still checked in on what was going on with both Jensen and Misha. After the 15 x 18 finale, I was a bit more active again and followed at least some actors' news, as well as the whole "jivorce" thing, but mostly through people memeing and content accidentally making it on my Twitter timeline (I stopped using Tumblr, or just checked it really occasonally!).

I'd say that I now still check in on Jensen and Misha, at least when any big stuff happens, and I still consider myself a Cockles truther, at least in some sort of a poly way - it's interesting to see how the dynamics have changed throughout the years. It seems to me that in recent years J&D became much more vocal about their love for Misha - something that "warms the cockles of my heart" quite a lot.

I also have been updated more or less on the whole fiasco with D*niela and JIBcon, it sucks that it ended this way bc Rome was "their special thing" and it won't be the same anywhere else, but with the way that woman has been acting, it's probably for the best.

What else would you like to know dear anon?? :)) I got into a bunch of other fandoms in between as can be seen from my very occasional postings, but Cockles is definitely something I still kind of silently follow and have at least mostly fond memories of (the same can't be said about the show tho :p). But all in all, I made quite a few friends through that fandom, and I still keep in touch with a number of them, so that's th fondest memoriy I'll ever have in regards to SPN! :))

Hello Anja! First, I'll compliment your tumblr because it's simply amazing and you're awesome. Now I'm wondering, that AHBL con on which Misha bends Jared and Jensen gets all pissy, I always get confused because some people say it's J2 and others say it's Cockles and I'm a cockles shipper but I wonder what it could exactly be, you know? Anyways, I dunno if that jealousy is towards Mish or Jared :c

Well if I speak completely objectively and remove my cockles goggles, my answer is: it’s neither. Jensen just saw Misha&Jared fooling around and played up the “oh god you two are embarrassing, I’m gonna leave you to your antics, I don’t want to be a part of that” :’D

But if I put my tinfoil hat back on, AHBL 2009 was indeed a specifically interesting period in Jensen&Misha timeline:

First there was the “I didn’t see you for a while I got a little nervous” moment:

Then, these two interviews where Jensen really is trying his best to compliment/impress/tease Misha, and Misha keeps responding with those sweet smiles and blushy giggling!

Now, I might be biased here as I am speaking as a shipper, but in my opinion Jensen was being extremely flirty during that con, so maybe there was some subconscious feeling of jealousy/posessiveness over Misha mixed in ther eas well. :p

Also, lets not forget that during next con, Jensen wore THE RING, which then Misha wore as well. (ring timeline)

Hi, I'm new to the Cockles ship via Destiel. I wanted to ask you if you've noticed something sad I couldn't help but see, which is that it seems to be more of a one sided "OMG I THINK I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU. YOU'RE ONE OF THE MOST SPECIAL PPL IN MY LIFE. YOU MAKE ME SO HAPPY WHEN YOU'RE AROUND" sort of thing *cough-Jensen-cough* And Misha... well, I dunno maybe it's just me. What do you think?

Oh definitely, the crush from Jensen’s side is way too obvious IMO, it’s actually kind of embarrassing. And Misha… well he can control hmself pretty well, I’d say. There are rare moments when he lets it slip through, like when Jensen is mentioned and he wasn’t expecting it, or when he starts telling a jensen story for the first time, without preparing in advance - an example that comes into my mind is at Vegascon 2013, when he told the story of Jensen falling in LARPing episode. He just couldn’t keep a straight face and cracked just by saying his name?? 

and there are some other little instances like that, it’s mostly when Misha is alone and talking about Jensen. When they are together on stage, Misha is actually pretty composed most of the time :)

P.S. I also love how haters claim that Jensen hates Misha, when his behaviour around him says just the opposite, lmao, I’d believe it is the other way around sooner than I’d believe the “Jensen hates Misha” nonsense, he’s just so obvious it isn’t even funny?? :’)

Yes, J and M play D and C and a Destiel kiss would require their lips to touch. HOWEVER, it wldn't be a Cockles kiss but a kiss between D and C, which is what that fan was asking for. Apparently Jim and some others *coughjensencough* don't see the difference and THAT is suspicious. E.g. fan asks J about D's sexuality he automatically assumes it's a question about his own sexuality and gets defensive. Cld b bc J's been Dean for 9 years but idk I start believing in cockles after the bisexuality q

Well, i worked up the courage to ask you something. I'm aware that's probably done and redone BUT if you watch from a particular angle....i swear... that's not just a finger in your ear prank. It's more like some sort of "am i turning you on now?" thing... It's the 27 video from a playlist on youtube named "2012 cockles videos" (0:48-1:05 in slow motion - 0.25). I'm sorry for being so technical, but there's no other way to prove this. Please share my heartache :)

Also, after a long research, i didn't seem to find any comment on what Jensen said to Misha after he "casually" brushed against him while leaving after interrupting their pannel. Jensen clearly says, looking longingly after Misha "you're a reall catch!" For reference: "2013 cockles videos" playlist, video 5/41 on youtube. I'm right, right? Doesn't calling someone "a catch" means that they are great to be with? Romanticly? I hope i didn't embarrassed myself here...

Oh, definitely in a good way!

I'm sorry if I'm unclear sometimes, I have my own headcanons and then I expect everyone would just get them, silly me. :)

My headcanon is, that when the question is about J2, or even specifically about Jensen, Misha will try to turn it and talk about Jared. Whenever it's something like "I go to Jared's trailer to get inspired" or similar things that have some sexual connotation, he always makes his answer about Jared.

he obviously mentions Jensen too, but almost never in a "haha, me and jensen are having sex" way, when with Jared he does it much more often.

So it's a bit suspicious, why is he trying to do that? My headcanon is obviously because threre really is something between him and jensen, and talking about it is too dangerous ;)

Cockles body language Part 2: Eye contact

I found an interesting analysis of eyes body language, and here I apply it to Jensen&Misha and their longing stares :)

Eye contact between two people is a powerful act of communication and may show interest, affection or dominance.

Doe eyes

A softening of the eyes, with relaxing of muscles around the eye and a slight defocusing as the person tries to take in the whole person is sometimes called doe eyes, as it often indicates sexual desire, particularly if the gaze is prolonged and the pupils are dilated. The eyes may also appear shiny.

If a person says something when you are looking away and then you make eye contact, then this indicates they have grabbed your attention.

Winking:

We also look more at people we like and like people who look at us more. When done with doe eyes and smiles, it is a sign of attraction. Lovers will stare into each others eyes for a long period. Something I noticed about the new and "earned' cockles pic, as well as most of other pics and videos: Misha's very conscious of the space between him and Jensen, of the touches, everything. He's doesn't seem as free and careless with his touches as he is with Jared. it's as if he doesn't want to overstep some invisible boundaries, doesn't want his actions to reveal too much and sometimes there's an of awkwardness between them. IDK, just an observation.

Misha as a matter of fact, often acts like this! It’s only rare moments when he lets it slip, like that time at jibcon, when they were doing the rapid fire questions, and he was nearly in jensen’s lap!

^ This was at the very last second, and Misha looks like he’s having the time of his life. I sometimes really wonder what would happen if the panel was just 10 minutes longer…

I think the reasons for that slip were:

He might have been just a little tipsy,

The adrenaline was running high,

The panel was taking longer than usual,

It was Rome,

They had a bit of a, ahem, warm up earlier.

But generally, yeah, I agree with you: Misha is quite aware of the boundaries when it comes to Jensen, and he will rarely initiate anything on his own (in public). Jensen on the other hand….

He’s always the one to start with the buttslaps, the cheek caresses, the kisses and the flirting.

For example, jensen has this incredible smile and those heart eyes almost all the time Misha is around. If you start doing screencaps of their panels, you might as well take your whole day off, because of how horrible Jensen is.

More material as a proof

Meanhile, Misha is usually quite reserved most of the time. he’s handling it much better than jensen.

But occasionally, it will happen to him as well ;)

I didn’t want to make this too long, but I couldn’t explain in short:

As we know, Misha didn’t really feel accepted until the end of season 4, as he told in some intervies, so I think it was maybe somewhere around that time, maybe they got closer at the wrap party? or maybe AHBLcon in australia (April 2009), when they were flirting shamelessly:

note: taking videos in the autograph room is not allowed, which means they were probably a bit more relaxed and themselves when this was taken. (maybe this is why we got reports from this and last year’s jib about them hugging in autograph room too!)

I’m not sure if they acted on any of it in Australia yet, maybe not because their interviews still seem a bit tense to me. And if you watch the bloopers, Misha seemed pretty uncomfortable with J2 joking around with him during the filming of 5x02. Specifically this scene:

From episode 5x04, we have this pic of Misha wearing the exact same shirt (whatever it is) as jensen:

Now i don’t want to say this is a hard proof they are together, there could be a millions scenarios why they could wear the same thing. But then we have the rings too, and the bracelets, and these are the things that will forever haunt me! :’D

About the “cockles spat”

Now first, i gotta say, all I heard were rumours/speculations from fans, like me and you, so we can’t really know if there was a spat in the first place.

I don’t really want it, but I’ll discuss it for you nonetheless: 

the rumour has it that the spat happened after Chicon in October 2011. There, Misha tweeted the pic of “Shirtless Jensen”

Apparently they were out together in a bar or something, while all the other cast was wrestling in Jared’s room/at karaoke party :’)

However, next week, at Asylum 7 (end of October 2011), Misha looked very sad, there are reports that he got drunk, was rude to the con staff, and he even refused to continue photo ops (he had to though)

during his panel, he got emotional while he was talking about Vicki, and he made a comment about a porn movie “Debbie does Dallas.” He looked really sad during this though, and considering jensen is from Dallas, there could be something here…

The reason for the fight could be that jensen is a very private person and maybe didn’t want any indications like this made public. Maybe Misha also wasn’t thinking when he tweeted this pic. And remember how he deleted the Jenny Thunder pics last time, and even the vasectomy one.

Maybe he was affraid of Jensen’s reaction? The tweet after the vasectomy one is really meaning to me, like he’s trying to defend himself, and jensen at the same time, for the pic.

Regarding the spat, I wouldn’t know when they got together… JIBcon3 was then in April 2012, and there are some indications that maybe they could have still had a brawl

What you just read is based on posts going around and I don’t have exactly the same opinion.

My personal opinion: Yes, there could have been a spat before Asylum 7, but I think that these things happen regularly between them. I sometimes have a really bad feeling about them, like at this last Comic Con - I think that something went down. I don’t know where they are in their relationship now though, but let’s hope all is well and Jensen got over the initial shock of having a baby :)

because I'd LOVE to talk a bout this detail, because in case you didn't notice...

yeah... and Misha is touching it. (okay an anon said it's probably jensen's hand and i must say I agree. But my claim still stands: it's the D!)

Now we know that this was at Vegascon, and there were some rumours that J&M were drunk. And I know people have hard time believing it, but there's nothing strange if they would drink a bit too much when they were waiting for J2 panel and photo ops. We're all human, actors too (and we know that Ty for example was drunk at most of the cons he was at :DD).

Also, remember the smiley Misha had on Sunday on his hand?

It looks like a stamp someone gets in clubs. And there's something on Jensen's hand, we can't really see if it's a smiley, because he probably tried to wash it off, but there is a spot in fact:

anyway, to make this short, I think they went clubbing together previous night, what with this being the first time Misha was in Vegas, and I think that that night was a good night for cockles too.

Seeing the way Jensen laughs and looks at Misha is seriously one of the greatest things in life. Interpret their relationship how ever you may, but it is just cute how Jensen is so taken with Misha, like he looks at him as this adorable fascinating thing. When Jensen said he wanted to put Misha in his pocket and take him home, I believe it. I have the biggest smile on my face when I watch them interact sometimes.

yeah, same here, I get this huge grin, especially when I watch their last JIBcon panel... Just, the way jensen looks at him, or the way he's trying to hold in laughter but can't.

Or with Misha, how he can't get a single word out when he starts talking about Jensen :')

But I don't see how that connects to cockles :/ ? The bracelts themselves are pretty different (and those were/are pretty popular) or is really only because of the "angel" thing? I mean, angels are popular and beloved symbol that you'll find on a lot of things... :(

It seems really interesting to me, that they didn't wear them anywhere before the Sunday JIB2 panels. So my guess is that they probably went out to buy them on saturday evening, probably, but what seems even more likely to me, is that the wives actually went shopping together, and picked them out for them.

However, the pendant seems pretty specific to me, plus what it says "always with you", I think it's possible that jensen gave it to Misha. It wouldn't be the first time they exchanged jewelery (re: the rings). And it doesn't seem so impossible to me, people see Jensen as this macho guy, unable to express emotions, but I think he's the total oposite.

p.s.: Jensen wore the same bracelet again at JIB3. And nowhere in between. idk, but it seems kinda big to me that he only put it on in rome ;)
