Your Name, Weathering with You, and Suzume; these are the three most recent films from writer and director Makoto Shinkai. After a career that spans over 25 years, these three films firmly secured Shinkai’s status as one of the most important figures working in the anime industry today, with all three films being among the top ten highest grossing Japanese films worldwide. The main reason for that is because they’re all great films, but, what if I were to tell you that there was another reason for their success. That reason is that they are all part of a trilogy, specifically a thematic trilogy.
In this video, I will be breaking down the trilogy in the hopes of understanding why they became some of the most successful anime films in recent memory. These are the films that make up Makoto Shinkai's Disaster Trilogy.

I fucking miss Noralities so much. I love her videos. I know she got into some pretty hot controversy I think twice awhile back, but honestly, I really don’t think it was that bad. I don’t watch isekai anime so I don’t really have an opinion on that, but the corn scene in Dr.Stone? Yeah that had me going…”wth…?” And of course like 15 YouTuber needs to make videos fucking TRASHING on Noralities and her opinions and her evidence. I even saw one heavily state her video was in the perspective of a “female anituber” and bruh has like an average of 10 views per video, an ugly set up, no real work put into her videos, ect., but because shes 1 woman who disagrees with Noralities, like 100k+ people are on her side and using her as a valid reasoning to further hate on Noralities.
I fucking hate the anime community bro. One mention of women and loli’s and you’re harassed and blacklisted.
Edit: also something I just noticed, when it’s a man talking about these issues with how women are written in shounen anime and how loli’s being sexualized is an issue, people will be fucking sucking their dicks because “he’s RIGHT! Finally someone talking about this!” But then when a WOMAN talks about these SAME ISSUES, it’s “anime are for MEN!” “Get out out our community NORMIE” “ugly bitch!” “You’re delusional!”
Edit 2: getting back into the anime community, or at least wanting to get back into it, is reminding me why I left and dipped off the internet for awhile a few years back-bc people fucking suck.

Seiken Gakuin no Makentsukai / The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy Review
8/10 Yeah this one seems like it could be pretty good and it's decently funny.
Script under the read more
Hello CG skeletons! The plot for this one is weird, but it's actually good I promise.
The forces of evil have been losing a war against humanity. One demon lord remains standing and in order to fulfill a promise he made to a mysterious being, he initiates a reincarnation ritual that will bring him back in 1000 years.
Now it's a thousand years later and humanity is vastly different than what he expected. Everything he once knew has changed, even down to the calendar. On top of that, he's reincarnated in the body he had when he was a human, a 10 year old human.
Now he has to learn more about the present day world, including about humanity's mysterious new enemy, before he can rebuild his empire and fulfill his promise.
One thing I really liked about this was that his inner commentary allows for some quality humor. One of my favorite moments was this…
(Insert clip of I understood none of that)
This anime shows a lot of promise. Episode 1 drip feeds you information about everything going on and when our demon lord is reborn, were in the same spot he is. We have no idea how the world has changed and it made me interested to learn more.
This is one where my final rating could be drastically different, but for now I'm gonna go with an 8/10. I'm interested enough to watch weekly, but not emotionally invested.

This time, I managed to get it sent here before a week has passed. Still a bit late though since I was really tired when I posted it earlier today.

If I had a nickel for every time a highly anticipated anime series aired in 2023 with a feature length first episode, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice! In this video, we're talking about Oshi no Ko, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, and how they made the absolute best first impression with feature length premieres by taking the anime community by storm!

Halfway through my goal! I wanted to reach 5,000 subscribers before the end of the year. More shoujo/magical girl videos will be on their way. I have faith in myself!

Souson no Frieren / Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Reviewed
10/10! Incredible! I cried for a very long time
Script for the video under the read more
Holy fuck, I have not seen an anime THIS good in a long time. I cried for 7 MINUTES STRAIGHT!
The basic premise is that we join a party of adventures as they return home from a 10 year journey to defeat the demon king. Our main character, the mage Frieren, is an elf and due to that fact, she lives a much longer life than her companions. For her, time passes so quickly, so much so that when we see her party members again, they’re old men.
This story does a wonderful job of addressing mortality and grief, with a theme that’s clearly foreshadowed for the viewer, but something that our main character has to learn about the hard way. Outside of the dwarf character, I feel that much of the conversation does a good job showing us who these characters are and how each one views their friendship. For the humans, they spent a good portion of their life with Frieren, so she’s a dear friend to them, but for her, there’s this distance there.
The direction is wonderful, even down to small choices like leaving out any background music for certain conversations, leading the words to really hit the viewer.
And of course, the OP fucking slaps. It’s so good, oh my god.
So far, this is a 10 out of 10 and I’m 100% watching the rest of this anime, weekly.
