Alright, so I looked into it just a little and there are headcanons but.... what did demon slayers do before breathing styles?! So Yoriichi lived nearly 500 years ago in the Sengoku period and was the supposed first breath user, utilizing the base (divine) sun breathing. From there it branched off. However, Muzan was turned into a demon during the Heian period (roughly 1000 years before demon slayer takes place). This means Muzan and his demons were roaming around for however many hundreds of years (who knows how long it took Muzan to discover he could turn people). So in those 500 (?) Years, how did they kill demons other than "I have a sword and sword styles, hope I don't die!". Were they just doing crowd control and only able to kill weaker demons? I HAVE QUESTIONS!!!!!

Crunchyroll recently removed comments functionality, which I understand the impulse—comments sections can get really nasty when unmoderated—but I always found the comments on Detective Conan really fun and wholesome. Since I can’t scroll through comments anymore to see people’s reactions to episodes, your blog is even more invaluable. I normally just lurk, but was curious about your thoughts on one of the anime originals. I recently watched episode 1102, The Akabeko and the Three Lucky Men. It had some fun history about the folk craft of akabeko that made me curious enough to look it up later. It might be one of my favorite AOs. Conan gets to do the ojou-sama laugh as Sonoko, we get to learn about Japanese folk art, and there are a lot of puns.

What are your thoughts on these more education-focused episodes? And what the heck is akabeko bekobe supposed to mean? Judging from Conan’s face, it sounds as silly to the Japanese ear as the English ear.

Yeah, I'm disappointed by Crunchyroll's decision as well. The timing seems really bizarre too as there had been some accusations flying around that one of the newer anime ("My Deer Friend Nokotan") was using AI translations, so myself and others are curious if this was done in part to shut down people commenting on the horrendous translation work. :| And of course, now they won't have to pay people to moderate the comment sections so I'm sure they're probably thrilled at saving money that way.

As for the educational episodes, I'm always up for learning something new!

As for the "akabeko bekobe" it's probably just meant to be a silly phrase that incorporates "akabeko", but I don't know as I am by no means fluent in Japanese. :D;

hi i got a question. are there any anime with the main premise about someone just going on holiday for holiday's sake?

lots of anime do have travel (like going around a continent) and isekai which can seem like a holiday, as well as arcs where characters go abroad but that's more focused for their goals rather than as a holiday for holiday's sake.

Ranking of Kings viewers, how did you feel about Miranjo, and how her situation was handled at the end of season one?

I am in love with a very specific My Hero x Demon Slayer au. It's a crossover with the Hashira's being labelled as vigilantes in the my hero verse with the way that they 'deal' with their villains [demons].

(I have only seen this concept once as a gacha reaction and I so desperately want to read it as a story, but I guess some things just don't exist *sigh*).

Does anyone at least know where I can find more of this concept?
