I really like the theory of Lagorio's films being a way of capturing the Entities' powers on a fisical medium, as a predecessor to the Archivists' tapes.

Henry’s speech vs Greek myths

In Henry’s speech during FFPS he alludes to William Aftons or as he’s referred to in the game Scraptrap’s character being one similar to Sisyphus’, who in his Greek myth tried to escape and trick death. During his speech, Henry says things like, “your lust for blood has driven you in endless circles” and condemns him to “the darkest pit of hell” when referring to William’s search for eternal life via murdering children. While it’s not a direct one-to-one association with the myth of Sisphyus there are still many similarities. Sisyphus is a man who strived to outrun death and in his failure was sentenced to rolling a rock up a hill somewhere in the underworld forever and never succeeding, a monotonous task he’s forced to repeat over and over . While William is a man who attempted to outrun death via murder and when he is finally killed he’s sent to some kind of purgatory forced to play the same night over and over, as seen in the next game Ultimate Custom Night where you play as him stuck and forced to play night after night as a typical night guard against all of the Five Nights at Freddy’s characters, never able to leave. It’s a monotonous task he’s forced to repeat over and over. The slight references to Sisphyus’ myth gives a hint to what would happen in the next game, along with giving further insight into Williams character if you look at him through the lens of Sisyphus.

The Minotaur was a “monster” that was trapped in a labyrinth with no exit or escape. Throughout Henry’s speech at the end of Freddy Fazbears Pizzeria Simulator (FFPS) Henry refers to the animatronics trapped in the pizzeria as “monsters trapped in corridors” and the actual pizzeria as “a labyrinth with no exit” both of which are associated with the Greek myth about the Minotaur. The references to the myth give the listener a deeper understanding of the animatronics by connecting the confusing story in the game to a recognizable myth.

Spent like an hour and a half putting together a character for a one-shot (took me a really long time to decide on a paladin oath and then I wrote out all the spells by hand) and I'm really excited to use him.

He's a minotaur paladin named Rinth (Oath of Glory). He's an entertainer at heart (and in background), and his most notable feature is that he wears mechanical animal costumes (essentially animatronics). Does this make him a furry? Perhaps. He is already rather furry as he is a minotaur.

He plays the kazoo as his instrument.

Activity on my first listen: putting up a new fence.

MELANIE: “Well. I’ve kinda got to… uh. (inhale) I’ve got somewhere to be. Do you mind if – if she hangs around with…?” JON: "Uh, I suppose – Not at all. She’s very welcome." I think it's super cute that Daisy doesn't want to be alone. Yeah, the reason for this is quite tragic and sad... I think this was the episode that made me go "Oh shit, I really like Daisy now!" to 100 %! I love everything about this episode!

JON: "If you don’t mind me asking – where are you off to?" [UNFORTUNATELY FOR BOTH OF THEM, THE ARCHIVIST’S SIGNATURE STATIC RUMBLES LOW IN THE BACKGROUND AS HE SPEAKS.] MELANIE: "Therapy. (surprised inhale) Wait…" I read a post about this once, that the Eye won't chose random information for Jon to suddenly drop into his mind. It's always something bad or intrusive (like suddenly knowing how Gertrude stopped the Sunken Sky. Or how one of Basira's school teachers died). Wouldn't be surprised, if this also got a grip on questions which could reveal a "dark secret". Like here, it wasn't a coincidence that compulsion slipped out with the question. It's the Eye choosing to act on it's own because there's juicy personal information to acquire. There's nothing Jon could have done to stop that, aside from just not asking this question. But that's why he's the Archivist, he always asked this kind of questions.

MELANIE: "It’s fine. I would probably have told you eventually anyway." Uhhh, am I the only one who thinks this line sounds a bit weird...? Especially the "It's fine". This doesn't sound like Lydia at all... Could this actually be Alex??? (Wouldn't be the first time we suspect him impersonating Lydia/Melanie - MAG 103).

"One of my earliest memories is cowering behind my mother, watching Labyrinth of the Minotaur on our tiny television, seeing the clay of the creature move and come alive in stop-motion. It terrified me. It thrilled me. It’s a moment that’s never completely left me. I’ve always had two passions: engineering and special effects. So naturally, the course of my life gradually led me towards working on animatronics. I don’t – care about the other stuff, not really. A squib’s a squib no matter how much you dress it up, and… (inhales) makeup never really wowed me." 1.) Not really-counter of S4: 4! 2.) I totally know that feeling. For me it was Jurassic Park. I guess this is also why I've always loved Stan Winston's work the most out of all practical FX studios and artists I follow. I have no idea about engineering, but I'm good at sculpting and crafting. Naturally, SFX make-up always fascinated me as well and they often work closely together (part make-up / part costume / part animatronics). It's just so damn expensive to make myself, the prices for silicone and resin skyrocketed the last couple of years. I want to make an animatronic mask soooo badly... Luckily my spouse is an engineer and I have a few of tutorials from the Stan Winston School membership, so one day! *fingers crossed*

"His earlier stuff I certainly enjoyed, but… for all my fondness for that – animated Minotaur, his stop-motion work never really grabbed me like his animatronics." You know why stop-motion looks so jerky? Lack of motion blur. That's when go-motion came into play. They'd move the model slightly during exposure of that frame, recreating motion blur by doing this. The dragon Vermithrax in Dragonslayer was the best example for this, but it already went quite high-tech to achieve this. (ILM, Phil Tippet btw.)

"The way Neil tells it, he split from his partner Gabe in 1972, and sculpting for stop-motion had never really had the same charm after that." Gabe... Short for Gabriel. Sculpting, like with Clay^^ Lagorio was like "Yeah, the Spiral is too random for me, I need precision!!"

"I think we bonded on that shoot, sheltering from the rain for hours at a time, watching a soggy animatronic jaguar gradually start to rust." Everybody knows the story of the T-Rex in the rain, right? If not, so they build the T-Rex without the information that it's supposed to be raining in that scene. Well... the foam latex skin acted like a sponge and it got too heavy! This caused the T-Rex to shiver, so they had to dry her in-between shots (there are pictures of people whipping towels at the dino XD). This is also the reason why the roof of the car broke and came down onto the children. This was not planned! But the T-Rex got too heavy so the calculations weren't correct anymore and so it hit that glass roof with way too much force, oof.

OMG wait! Is that my favorite ambiance track there?? OMG it is! I totally missed that it was used here! Episode got even better now!

JON: "Mm, they were… Well, let’s just say it’s not a complete shock there was something unnatural to them." Mr. “watches documentaries for fun” saw a few of Neil Lagorio's movies! Not surprised since he read a lot as a kid, why wouldn't Jon be into fiction?

DAISY: (sigh) "She’s Web. Spider’s sneaky like that. Like that lighter you’re always using; where’d you get that?" JON: "Mm. Good point. We should keep our eyes open. Anyways –" Hahaha, there's even static during "Good point". I can't wait to tell my story about the lighter, it's hilarious.

DAISY: (sigh) "Yeah, well – (sigh) What do you think? You think I’m weak, just – (sigh) – ‘cause I’m not already chasing the next kill? You think I’m less me?" JON: "I – (sigh) I don’t feel like I’m exactly in the best place to judge the… intersection between free will and humanity. (stuttering inhale) I’m still trying to figure that out myself." Those two <3 I'm happy Jon has someone this season who gets him. Who he can talk to. I love their friendship so much...

JON: "My – (large sigh) My memories of the coma are not clear, but I know I made a choice; I made a choice to become… something else. Because I was afraid to die. But ever since then, I – I don’t know if I made the right decision; I’m stronger now, tougher, I can – (he cuts himself off) If I do die, now, or get sealed away somewhere forever? I don’t know if that’s a bad thing. And I don’t want to lose anyone else, so if I can maybe – stop that happening, and the only danger is to me, I – I’ll do it in a heartbeat; worst case scenario, the universe loses another monster." DAISY: "That’s messed up." JON: (small laugh) (inhale) "Yeah. I suppose it is." Jon. Stop it. Get some help.

JON: "It, uh – hm – Is it, uh – Weird question, but – I – (sigh) I haven’t seen you in my dreams? The last couple of weeks?" DAISY: "Oh, ah – No, I – I work here now. Figured it seemed to protect the others, so –" That sounded like that relative "I haven't seen you in so long, you never visit me!" XD But further confirmation, that the dreams stop when you're working for the institute.

DAISY: “Boo-hoo, I’m so alone and a monster.” Yeah, those two <3

DAISY: (darkly) "If she doesn’t, I’ll rip her throat out." I love the sound of that line!

Putting that therapy scene into a Web episode was such a mean red herring!

Why Should Your OC Win?

He’s been a part of four (4) different plot lines, the only one he was liked in he had none of his personality (but that one’s not canon). In all the other three he was trying to find his childhood best friend that he had a crush on and in the most recent one she’s not even real (loooooooooong story). He doesn’t even have his cool Minotaur spirit to punch enemies for him anymore. Oh yeah, and the one time he showed any selflessness he (I) caused the module incident of April 2020. Wentz Way is cursed in all aspects frfr. He was originally part of a pathfinder campaign that ended early, then another pathfinder campaign that ended early, then he got his personality scrubbed and used in a fanfic parody I was writing for fun, and now has his personality back but also a lot of memory issues in this plot I’m working on.

What is Your OC Like?

He’s Dollar Store Dio Brando. He’s Dio Brando but if Dio Brando was sopping wet and pathetic. He’s built like a brick house but is also a coward. His type is childhood best friend (that he doesn’t really remember except that her name starts with an M and she was nice to him) and dudes that can wrestle him (like actual wrestling). He does find other women attractive, he just doesn’t care cause none of them are Childhood Best Friend That He Can’t Remember.

Why Should Your OC Win?

Barely anything in Diego’s life goes right. He was raised by his grandma and never knew his parents. He loves baseball and had a full ride college scholarship, until getting injured in the middle of a game. Diego lost everything after. His scholarship, his girlfriend, and his education.

After that Diego became depressed, barely able to function, until he met Trevor. His whole life, Diego didn’t think he had any powers. Turns out that he does, but he can only use them when he’s within 5ft of Trevor (and vice versa).

At this point in his life, Diego didn’t really care about getting powers, but Trevor was thrilled. He continued to find and bug Diego to join up with him, as Trevor’s dream was to become a famous supervillain. The two of them came to genuinely care about each other, and Trevor helped pull Diego out of his depressive slump. Diego feels like he owes him his life, and agrees to be a criminal with him. (What has he got to lose?)

What is Your OC Like?

Guy on the left. (I literally don’t have ANY pictures of them separated) Diego is very deadpan and monotone. He rarely gets emotional, but when he does it explodes out of him. He has dedicated his life to Trevor (right) and will do anything for him. The two of them are trying to become supervillains, but at the moment they just rob gas stations and deface public property (Any schemes they do never tend to go well. Miraculously, they haven’t been arrested yet). Trevor loves the showmanship and comes up with routines for them. Diego does them all with a straight face.

Diego and Trevor are dating. They’re like an old married couple <3

Olympus Tournament Story: Uncertain Future.

Location: Research Facility, Olympus.

Ruby and Oct found themselves in a very strange battle with the Mikey Minos animatronic. Despite Ruby's speed and Oct's firepower, the machine was proving to be a capable foe. The Paradise Senior Partners has said they had used the minotaur to gather fight data which likely meant it adapted itself to deal with whomever it fought.

Ruby's attacks proved to be mostly ineffective but Oct was landing several strong hits. The machine hadn't had much time to read Oct as he wasn't in the tournament and only fought in part of one round. The two grappled and crashed through several walls sending people scattering. With Oct taking the minotaur's focus Ruby was able to chip away at it while it was mostly defenseless.

During a clash the minotaur and Oct broke through a wall on the side of the ship, both teetering on the edge but Oct pushed back and landed a strong blast to the minotaur's torso. It retaliated by knocking him to the ground and stepping on one of his arms. Ruby rushed to help but was caught in the animatronics' grasp. It began to squeeze but before any major damage could be dealt, the creature was struck from behind by Summer.

Ruby took advantage and managed to grab her weapon, slamming the blade into the minotaur's face which made it drop her and stagger towards the hole in the wall. The moment Oct was freed he let loose with his firepower, blasting the minotaur out of the opening and sending it falling into the sea.

By the time Oct had gotten back up he could only watch as Ruby ran to the elevator and used the key she had been given. Summer tried to follow but was pulled out of the room again by her previous opponent, Chimera. Oct decides it best to try and help Summer against her foe but at the same time Ruby's sister Yang had been following her sister's location via aShine tracker and was headed to the helipad that Ruby's elevator was taking her.

Location: Control Room, Olympus.

Lowell: "Attention, this is Flavian Lowell of Apricus. We are experiencing several issues. If you can hear this, the Olympus vessel requests assistance. We are unable to comply with the request to return to port. The controls seem to have been locked. We have sailed into a major storm, the vessel has sustained minor damage."

"Captain Hector Larsen has requested any available ships head to our location to help with evacuation. Captain Larsen is doing his best to keep the damage to the ship minimal. I will be ordering the evacuation shortly. Over."

Clearing his throat, Lowell switch the broadcast over to the ship's speakers. "Attention everyone. Flavian Lowell here. While this vessel is able to withstand a good deal of damage, for safety purposes I am issuing an evacuation notice. Several helicopters are on standby and will take off as soon as they are able."

"There are plenty of escape crafts available as well. Please navigate to the closest one. The crafts are programmed to take you safely to land. If all else fails, every one of your rooms is equipped with an escape pod which can be launched. An emergency beacon will be activated should you require use of this method."

"I urge you all to remain calm and everything will be fine. The Apricus City Council will oversee the evacuation. I have set this message to repeat every few minutes. Stay safe everyone."

Location: Deck Twenty, Olympus.

Kara: "You heard the man. It's time to take our leave." Opening up the hatch of one of the escape crafts."

Sunil: "What about Hugo? What about Cerise? We can't.."

Evander: "We can't stay here, your friends were gone in a flash of light. Who knows where they got teleported to if that even happened. Besides, Puck is still weak from nearly getting kidnapped by those Fae freaks."

Puck: "I hate that he's got a point."

Sunil: "I'm sending a message to Hugo and Cerise. I don't know if it'll reach them but Evander is right, we stay here and we might wind up at the bottom of the sea."

Night: "I can't.."

Sunil: "I know, it's your best friend and your girlfriend but you're not going to be any good to them dead."

Kara and Evander help Puck into the escape craft followed somewhat reluctantly by Sunil, and Night. After a few others board and the craft hits capacity the door shuts. The craft launches away from the ship, heading to land and activating an emergency beacon.

Location: Helipad Seven, Olympus.

The elevator Ruby was in finally reached the helipad. She stepped out and had to shield herself from the rain. This storm had appeared out of nowhere and hardly seemed to be a natural occurrence. Something was very wrong. She looked over to see the two Paradise Senior Partners waiting in a specialized helicopter. The one still wearing a broken mask opened the helicopter door and held his hand out.

Before Ruby could get there a commotion was heard as Summer, and Oct blasted their way through the decks and ended up next to Ruby. Chimera followed close behind and instantly began fighting with Summer again. to make matters worse Yang had managed to fight through the crowd and was rushing to Ruby.

Ruby barely had time to think before she was knocked out from behind by another Paradise Entertainment member..one of their newest. He lifted her up and carried her over, putting her in the helicopter.

As he began to climb in he heard someone yelling for him. Gouki had been chasing him through the entire ship and finally found him. As Gouki approached, Chimera broke away from Summer, leaping over and landing a kick that sent Gouki sliding back. Chimera and the masked man boarded the helicopter which instantly began to take off. Oct was unable to take a shot at it due to Ruby being on board but he did manage to launch a tracking device and stick it to the helicopter's underside.

Yang blinked, trying to understand was taking place just as a rumbling was heard and the ship began to shake even more. Without hesitation Summer ran to Yang, grabbing her by the arm and throwing her into one of the escape crafts just as the door was closing. Yang could only look out of the window as the craft dropped into the sea and sped off as it's beacon activated.

The masked Senior Partner looked out of the helicopter and noticed something rising out of the water near the Olympus.

Senior Partner: "It's a shame we can't stay and watch. I'd love to see how the project turned out. Ah well, places to go and people to see.."

The helicopter flew into the distance.

Location: Main Deck, Olympus.

Helicopters, and various escape crafts had all been successfully launched. The evacuation had been as smooth as one could hope. That was until the ship itself felt as if it would be torn apart. A strange looking creature had risen from the depths, the Senior Partner's project.

The creature seemed to have a mix of multiple arms as well as tentacles. It's body crashed through part of the ship before clawing it's way to the main deck. A somewhat skull like face roared at any who would oppose it as it's appendages ripped chunks of the ship apart.

Oct, Summer, and Gouki found themselves joined by members of the Apricus council and by other fighters who had stuck around. Each ready to confront the beast.

Could we please get more on Mason’s personality? I love Minotaur characters and Mason just seems like such a gentle giant to me!

(That is, when he’s not under the virus’ influence.)

Absolutely!! Gentle giant was definitely the goal for non-infected Mason. In the character descriptions I originally wrote for all the animatronics, some descriptions of him and his personality are “Think Himbo Minotaur” and “Acts like a LARPer who’s really in character, in a good way”.

He’s definitely a sweetie, and during the day he’s a very jovial, encouraging mascot and I think when people get a hole in one in the minigolf area he lets out a triumphant cry of celebration or something like that cause I think it’s sweet.

A random video of a haunted house walkthrough got recommended to me and I got hooked on watching it. These are my personal favorite animatronics from the haunted attraction.

But I am not willing to go a haunted attraction myself. I would rather take a ticket to my grave than to go through a haunted attraction like this in person.

The first three monsters are from “The Darkness”, while the last one is from “House of Occult” or “Lemp Brewery Haunted House.”
