ANIMATION FANS, WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
Yesterday, the day before Lightbox Expo, over 800 TAG members marched to Netflix’ headquarters & delivered a petition demanding the AMPTP keep animation jobs union, agree to AI protections, & more. SHOW THE AMPTP YOU STAND WITH ANIMATION!!
Sign your name next to the people that make the shows you love: animationguild.org/tagpetition
WE REALLY REALLY REALLY NEED YOUR SUPPORT!! Over the years, I have been asked by numerous fans how they can help us keep the animation industry from collapsing. Taking this action now will directly help our fight! I’m on The Animation Guild’s negotiations committee this year. I have been in the conference call with the AMPTP.
They do not see us as human.
They want us to lose our jobs, our homes, and our entire livelihoods.
They want to REPLACE ALL OF US and give YOU AI-generated slop, because they do not fucking care about this industry.
PLEASE HELP!!

Alright animation fans, this is the big test.
On Christmas Day Star Trek Prodigy season 1 will be released on Netflix. This is a new 3D animated young adult animated series that was removed from Paramount+ as a tax write off, and was only saved through an amazing grass roots campaign by fans to be picked up by Netflix so that it’s second season could be aired.
If you like serialized storytelling in kids shows, watch Star Trek Prodigy.
If you like Star Trek, watch Star Trek Prodigy.
If you know absolutely nothing about Star Trek, watch Star Trek Prodigy.
If you like The Owl House, Gravity Falls, Avatar the Last Airbender, or Legend of Korra, watch Star Trek Prodigy.
If you’re angry at studios cancelling animated shows prematurely or treating kids animation like trash, watch Star Trek Prodigy.
If you couldn’t afford a Paramount+ account but have a Netflix account, watch Star Trek Prodigy.
If you like episodic content with a serialized story, watch Star Trek Prodigy.
If you have kids and want them to get into Star Trek but don’t know where to start, watch Star Trek Prodigy.
If you like sci-fi, watch Star Trek Prodigy
If you like colorful characters, gorgeous animation, a serious storyline with lots of character growth and high stakes, watch Star Trek Prodigy.
This show has been neglected by Paramount+ and it’s gotten a rare second chance. The first month a show is released on Netflix is the most crucial time of all because the viewership will determine its fate going forward. A second season has already been finished (it was nearly completed when Paramount cancelled it), but if we want to see more beyond this season we need Netflix to see that we care about it and that their risk in picking up the show is warranted.
Please. Help us save this show. It’s SO GOOD, and it was treated like garbage by Paramount+. Help us stick it to Paramount and show everyone what a great show this actually is. Help us make Paramount regret their decision. Help kids animation continue to thrive and show it’s worth! Help bring in more people into the Star Trek fandom! Help us now! Please!

PSA about Star Trek Prodigy S2
all 20 episodes of Season 2 will be launching on Netflix, July 1st. The trailer is expected to come out soon. In just 3 Weeks, we'll be getting the S2 Of Star Trek Prodigy after 550 days, since S1 ended.
We are uncertain about if we will get a Season 3 or not. But in order to get the S3, we need to give Netflix some huge numbers of Viewership to S2. So, don't go to some Unofficial Sources to watch it. It won't help at all. Watch it legally, and fairly. Pay for Netflix, watch the S2 and make it possible.
So, see you on 1st July!! 🖖🏼

With 40 episodes to comb through it is sometimes hard for me to pick and choose the moments of animation in prodigy that really stand out. And while it’s easy to look at big space battles and effects, I love focusing on the smaller more nuanced animation that heighten this show above other kids shows of the type.
Hence why I wanna look at this little moment from Maj’el. It’s small and simple, and should require little effort in the grand scheme of things. On its surface it’s just a character talking and expressing their thoughts. But what sets this above is all the little nuanced movements.
Maj’el’s glance away, the way her head and eyes lead the dialogue through its paces, the way she nods her head to emphasize certain words.
These are all extremely subtle and ultimately unimportant things that smaller productions wouldn’t spend time on. But the fact that the Prodigy animators do is a testimony to how good they are. This moment may go by in a flash but it helps emphasize that this is a character who is thinking and responding and not a lifeless digital puppet.
I especially love the moment at the very beginning of the clip where her head bounces between two points as she’s talking, her body waiving a little and there’s even a slight hint of a sneer in her lips as she’s struggling to stay supportive and positive.
It’s beautiful character work and all of the prodigy animators should be proud of what they’ve accomplished.

Can we just give a Round of Applause to Michaela Dietz for her Outstanding Voice Performance as Maj'el in Star Trek: Prodigy S2? Because, she nailed it as a Vulcan not showing any kind of Subtle Emotions or Expressions whatsoever in her voice to actually sound like a Vulcan would do.
Also, Michaela Dietz has also voiced Amethyst in Cartoon Network series - Steven Universe, Vee in Disney Channel Series - The Owl House, Darryl McGee in The Ghost and Molly McGee, Ariel and Tilly in Nickelodeon Series - Middlemost Post and Wallace in Baby Shark's Big Show.
