Lads, today I won against a sweaty incel on a robo porn forum.

It was devestating as well as glorious. A victory hard earned and well won indeed.

It starts off with me expanding my already extensive knowledge on robo-porn on a niche forum on a hidden corner on the internet.

After a few happy weeks on the forum, along comes a sweaty incel who claims my knowledge on robo-porn is inferior in comparison to his and that there's no way I could possibly triumph against a spar of knowledge against him since my profile says that I'm a woman and that women can't possibly be into robo-porn and that my interest in it is all faked.

So I do the logical thing and ignore him.

But then he comments on EVERY. SINGLE. POST. That I've made in a span of a week.

Now, I am a rather active participant on this forum despite being relatively fresh faced to the scene.

However he slanders me by trying to find inconsistencies in my plot summaries, claiming that I've never watched said porno. (Lies, all lies I've binged each and every last one of them)

So I craft an ingenious plan to discredit him.

First I make a fake poster for a non existent porno from the 70s which is supposedly a pioneer in the robo-porn field.

Then, post a non existent plot summary alongside it.

Sure enough, the dude sees the post after an hour and claims that I haven't watched it thoroughly and that my plot summary is full of loopholes and that he knows that because he actually OWNS a copy of said movie.

Gotcha.

This is where I pull the rug underneath his feet and reveal my trickery alongside the fact that he has fallen victim to my plot to make him look like a complete buffoon that he is.

Since then he seems to have deactivated his account.

Victory is ever so sweet.

@emcon-ocs 's Bat Out of Hell & Bat Out of Hell: Teenage Wasteland (MCU)

Willow Wren has got to be one of the most well-developed OCs I've ever read and @emcon-ocs creativity in not just their writing, but also in how they promote their fic, is just way beyond anything I've ever seen before from a fic writer. Like, they made a literal movie trailer for the sequel to Bat Out of Hell - which was epic btw and these super cool posters/covers that made me severely jealous because I lack the most basic editing and photoshop skills. Also I need to mention this meme because it was both hilarious as hell and depressing (if you know, you know). Anyway, they're not just a fantastic fic writer, but they put so much effort into promoting their fic and the talent and creativity and resourcefulness there is just admirable. Nothing but respect for @emcon-ocs , so check em' out!

2. @starknstarwars 's Smuggler's Run & Smuggler's Ruin (Star Wars)

@starknstarwars 's Smuggler's Saga borderlines on original work with how original and brilliantly thought out it is. I first got hooked onto their work when I was drawing up their commission for the main OC, Zallia Thane (of whom I worship the very ground she treads upon). All of the OCs from the Smuggler's Saga are well-developed, well-thought out and beautifully portrayed in the series, with complex motivations, values, struggles and personalities that make them equally relatable and engaging to read about. I am up to Smuggler's Ruin right now, but I have yet to catch up to the recent chapters so I suggest all of us take a page out of my book and BINGE NOW!

3. @summer-time 's Biography of an Angel (Harry Potter, Star Wars & Game of Thrones)

And of course, I could not do a fic rec without mentioning someone who's OC has become very dear to me and that's you, my dear @summer-time. Your Ian Moone has crossed time, space and dimensions and touched our favorite stories and characters, and that attention to detail, lore and plots is impressive considering you always stay true to Ian's tragic plight of never able to enjoy being part of these stories that she intervenes in, always having to move on to new worlds to save and new loves to fall for that she will inevitably leave behind in the end - it is all too reminicent of the pain of leaving behind our own childhood stories to live the real lives of adults. Okay, here we go!

I used to use height sliders/presets, mostly for children and teenagers because I’d use poses with height difference for adults. I had this height slider (+ some other presets from them, I recommend checking the whole blog out and see what you like) and these body presets for kids and toddlers.

But a while ago I started making all my story poses. And, for that, I’ve made a rig for most of my main characters set with their actual heights + a little height study/reference thing with them and their ages (because some heights will change over time).

Yes, I’ve added an extra N to Sue’s name because I discovered Susana is the Portuguese/Spanish spelling. And I thought I’d have known....

So, whenever I’m posing them, I just grab their rig and the height difference is already there. If I’m feeling lazy, I edit the height on other people’s poses so it will be tailor made for them c:

As far as I know, there are two 'methods’ to approach the nightmare that is shooting scenes with extras:

A) GREEN SCREEN & COMPOSITION

This method consists in shooting your main subject separately, removing the background and composing from scratch OR shooting extras separately and adding them to a picture (or both). It’s quite good because you can tailor the scene with more precision and, of course, have a controlled environment.

@captainmrbored is really skilled when it comes to making scenes this way, so, if that’s a ‘method’ that interests you, I suggest checking some of his tips here.

B) SAY A PRAYER & POWER THROUGH

This conventional way consists on having townies as your extras. If you are a masochist like most simmers, you’ll have 20/30 sims on your lot for balls, banquets, protests, wars, whatever.

I will not lie to you: unless you are using deco sims instead of townies, this method is chaotic. But it’s doable! And if you are not very skilled with Photoshop and editing in general, such as yours truly, this is the way to go. 

Here is what it looks like in my game:

It’s not that bad. It’s just a bit stressful because Sims will snap out of their position now and then, so you’ll have to pose your 20 extras again and again and again and ag--

The T.O.O.L. mod is my best friend on scenes like this because it allows you to move already posed sims w/o making them snap.

Also, here is a little “trick”. 

Sometimes, you simply can’t pose 30, 40, 50 sims. It’s too just much.. So, you gotta do some cinematic tricks. If you have a wide angle or if you have visible gaps between sims, it’s easier to notice that you don’t actually have a lot of people in the scene.

So, don’t be afraid of scrolling that mouse wheel and zooming in. Personally, it does make a difference and helps with the suspension of disbelief.

(Btw, their heights are not accurate in these last shots because I just used random poses to make a point!)

Obviously, these are just my personal preferences and things that help me shoot scenes! There is never one single valid way of visually telling stories, so try out many things until you find a method that works for you and what your scenes demand!

Some other things that I do while shooting with extras:

1) Make establishing shots that show how full the set is. This way, I can focus on my main subjects without too many sims around them because “it is already established that the place is packed”.

2) Be mindful of my subject’s position on the frame and how I’ll fill in the gaps.

3) Depth of field. Can be achieved with Reshade and/or editing.

Also, also! I’m no pro. So these examples also have some of the things I said to avoid lmao. But I’m still learning and practice makes perfect, I supppose? I dunno, someone told me that when I was 5 and I felt fooled.

What made you decide to dedicate so much time to translating Mob Psycho 100 content into English? Thank you so much for your effort, btw, you've helped me enjoy this series a gazillion times more.

That honestly means SO much to me because helping people appreciate Mob Psycho more has always been my major major goal... thank you so much 🥺 you have no idea how happy it makes me to hear that.

I usually answer this question with “I think mob psycho is neat” Marge Simpson potato style but I figure I’ve been asked it so many times at this point that I may as well give a more serious answer... I left my life in Tokyo for London in late 2018 and I’m legally bound to London until early 2022, and as soon as I arrived in the UK I immediately started worrying about my Japanese and how I might forget it all in the space of 3.5ish years while I uh... can’t leave. I did translation for more ‘professional’ stuff and interpreting until April/May 2019 (same time I created the katyatalks Twitter!) after which I was like, actually, this stuff makes me fed up and I’d rather engage with my Japanese in a way that actually makes me feel good and is fun

In March I binged mp100 when I was bored thanks to a photo set of Reigen’s office on fire that I thought was pretty funny, and fell in love with the characters and themes. and then a little while later I understood just how little attention the show received from the western sphere and the HUGE stack of untranslated material it had and everything pieced together in some unbelievably perfect way

1. A fun way to maintain my Japanese now that I’m not using it in my day to day life anymore

2. it makes people happy

3. I love archiving...

4. it allows me to engage with various different skills I’ve enjoyed since I was a kid (toying with photoshop, video editing, audio editing, etc)

5. it makes me happy

avisynth alternatives: potplayer/kmplayer tutorial (giffing performances + 60 fps)

hi! my name is ju, and this is a tutorial post on using avisynth alternatives to gif performance files, but you can also just do the same method for any file really. above are the type of gifs we are looking to achieve by the end of this!

before anything else, if you have any questions about avisynth or what it is, please check out @nochuie's amazing (she's the absolute best for making this) avisynth tutorial here first before you continue. avisynth is the recommended option for gif-making. it features an easier, lossless debilinear resizer and far less tedious in regards to cropping/extracting once you get a hang for it. 

UPDATE 05/29/2018: AS OF KMP’S NEW UPDATE, AND POTPLAYER BEING WINDOWS ONLY, THIS METHOD DOESN’T WORK WITH MAC. MAC USERS PLEASE REFER TO VAPOURSYNTH AS AN ALTERNATIVE.

but for those stuck with a mac like i did, or those who cannot get avisynth to work/download for some reason, this is for you! my ask is open if something isn't properly clarified. before i ramble on any longer, everything will be below the cut. good luck to anyone reading this and happy giffing!

you will need a basic knowledge of photoshop and frame animation in order to do this. if you'd like, i can make an in-depth screencaps to frames tutorial in another post. please let me know if anything should be added and i hope this is useful.

before we start, i’d like to clarify what performance files are. performance files are either .ts (transport stream) or .tp type, and will be far larger in size than your regular mp4 that you download from youtube. a single song’s length of a video is usually 400-500 MB, and those end of year award shows with several songs can extend to 2 GB. performance files are not fancams, and are taken from the actual broadcasts of shows such as sbs inkigayo, mbc music core, kbs music bank, mnet m countdown, etc.

they usually have closer, smooth, continuous zoom-ins or shots, almost always have 60 fps (frames per second! what makes movement smoother) and that’s why they’re worth the attention! ts files can’t, however, be opened by photoshop alone. quicktime for mac definitely does not open these files without converting to a different file type, and it just gets really messy. the built in windows media player also may have trouble playing these as well.

so what avisynth does is not only a resize and crop, but also turn a 17-second cut into an .avi file that photoshop can open. but with avisynth out as an option for mac users, we instead rely on potplayer/kmplayer for their deinterlacing and ability to not only play, but extract frames from .ts files.

the first step is downloading and installing either potplayer or kmplayer. if you have windows 7 or 8, get kmplayer. the process for kmplayer is simpler and it’s much more easy to set up. if you have windows 10, you’re going to need to use potplayer instead.

after downloading and installing, (you can decline kmplayer’s “offers” btw. they’re basically just ads for bing and yahoo haha) which should be fairly easy clicking through the download wizard, go to your .ts file and open it up with the program you installed. 

KMPLAYER EXTRACT

if you have kmplayer, there is no preparing needed. simply play the video, and find the section you want to gif. say i want to gif a video at the 01:13 second mark. pause the video at that point, then right click on the video. you’ll see a menu appear. 

from here, hover over “capture” and then click “frames: extract”. (this looks a little different on my computer since i have windows 10 now and it doesn’t work on windows 10. also don’t mind me doing hw in the bg!)

now, after that, this little window will pop up, and it will look exactly like this at default:

okay, so we’re going to change a few things. you’re going to change:

Image Format > Format: JPEG (middle) Numbers to extract > Continuously Frames to extract > in 1 sec [1] frame(s)

after that’s done, you can change the number in the [ ] brackets to whatever you want. extract either 60 fps or 30 fps, it’s your choice. however, japanese and singapore/overseas in general ts files won’t work with 60 fps in kmplayer. you’ll be able to play the video, but not extract the 60 fps frames. fair warning!)

when you’ve set it up, press “start”. now click the play button on your video. your video will play, and kmplayer will capture the frames as you play. when the part you want is over, pause the video.

right click again, reclick on capture > frame: extract and the window will pop up again. you’ll see that a time duration is running, and it will have #Frame and Captured in the previously empty Information box. 

simply click the stop button (where the start button previously was). the window will close and you’ll see “Captured: [insert number] times flash up in the corner of the video player in yellow. 

now, your frames are all captured and kmplayer has done its job! the next part isn’t kmplayer but in fact photoshop, so we’ll go through that after i run through potplayer.

POTPLAYER EXTRACT

okay, this is the hard part. but don’t fret, i’ve gone through the messy three-hour troubleshooting for you! 

after you’ve downloaded potplayer, open up your file and find the section you want to gif. now pause the video, and before we do any capturing, we have to go in and alter some of potplayer’s defaults. lots of screenshots are coming, don’t worry!

after you’ve paused the video, right click on the video (like literally anywhere on the video) and a menu will show up. 

click on preferences. a window will pop up. mine will have already been altered, so sorry, as i really didn’t want to go through the hassle of reinstalling for this tutorial.

on the left hand bar, click on “Source/Splitter”

A splitter basically will make your 60 fps interlaced frames into 30 fps frames. we don’t want that, so we’re going to delete it. First, after you’ve clicked on Source/Splitter, you will see that all the settings are set to “Built-in” source splitters. leave everything alone except for the one that says MPEG2 TS:

use the drop down arrow and change it to what i have above! the FFmpeg MPEG2 TS Source/Splitter. then, click “Apply” at the bottom right of the window.

after that’s done, click on the button near the bottom of the window above Apply that says “Filter management”, and when the window pops up, you’ll see that there are 3 lists and one blank column on the left.

on the list that’s titled “Source/Splitter,” click the check mark for “MPEG2 TS.” now, click the “Scan” button just below that list. you’ll see a bunch of stuff appear under “DirectShow Filter List.” select the one that is “MPEG-2 Splitter.” Make sure it’s the only one you’re selecting!

then, click the “Delete” button right under the scan button. MPEG-2 Splitter should be gone from the list.

see how it’s missing from the left most column? now we’re all set up! click “OK,” and the window will close. then click “Apply” again, then click “OK” for that window. both windows will have closed now and you’re ready to extract!

don’t worry, the settings will save since you clicked the “Apply,” so you don’t have to do this every time. make sure you’re still paused on the right time you want to gif, and then press Ctrl (or Command on mac) + G. a window that looks similar to kmplayer’s window will pop up like this:

the first thing you should do is set up the “Storage” designation. click on the ellipses, make a folder where you want your frames to end up, and click “Select Folder.” you can see mine is set up in a folder i made called “potplayer.” the default setting is just “Pictures” i think!

next, increase the Numbers/Frames to Capture > Number (s): [ ] to however many you want. it really doesn’t matter unless you want exactly 50 frames or what not, because you can manually stop extraction like kmplayer can.

instead of Every # frame, select Every # ms and input how many frames per second you want. then, click “Start” and play your video! 

after the part you want to gif is over, pause the video, press Ctrl + G again, and the window will re-open. click on “Stop” and your frames will be all extracted and ready for you in your designated location!

FRAMES INTO PHOTOSHOP

okay, you may already know how to do this. open up photoshop, then go to file > scripts > load files into stack.

the window below should pop up. now click on “Browse” 

and then find your folder with the frames in them. if you used potplayer, you should know where it is, and if you used kmplayer, go to your Local Disk (c drive) > KMPlayer > Capture and your frames should be there. 

select the frames you want to import (for future reference, you can simply click the dropdown on Files in the window above and select Folder instead to just load the whole folder.)

wait for all the images to load into the empty box and press OK. the images will start to load layer by layer into photoshop. when they’ve finished loading, click on “create video timeline” on your timeline window. if your timeline isn’t there, go to Window > Timeline. then, convert to frame animation.

then, make frames from layers.

change your frame delay to 0.03 or a closeby number, so that we can play through the gif. for me, the frames always load backwards so i will have to reverse my frames before i will play my gif.

after that’s done, play through and delete any unnecessary frames. then crop, resize using some form of photoshop’s resample (bicubic sharper or bicubic depending on how grainy the file is) and apply adjustments/topaz!

i hope this was helpful, and i hope for the anon that requested this, that it helped you! it’s a lot of work, and avisynth is much better, but it’s worth the hassle if you don’t have avisynth. hopefully by the end you can achieve something like this:

The good old Astonisher showed its going to be more of the same in 2019, sleight of hand, selective reporting and all manner of insulting idiocy same old, same including a spectacular miss this weekend not a word about one of Townsville most long standing favourite eateries bites the dust Michels On Palmer Street is no more. Bancroft boo-boo Channel 7 embraces fake news: so lacking in a sense of the ridiculous, theyre about to disappear up their own ummm kazoo. And the President turns on the pester-power: Trump throws the biggest and longest tanty in living memory ruining the holiday season for thousands of his own people. But first For those many people who have been inquiring about Mark Donnellys funeral in Cairns, it will be at 2pm Wednesday Jan 9th, at St Francis Church, Mayer Street, Cairns. Vale, mate Moving On Its climate change on Bentleys mind. Our toonist is originally a Croweater from Adelaide, and he was amazed to see the jam packed crowds on Adelaide beaches in a TV report about the ghastly weather theyre having over there. The Pie also recalls that during his time in the City of Churches, beach-going was an occasional thing and attracted only sparse crowds to the sandy shores. But Bentley believes climate change is rapidly altering time honoured Aussie pastimes, and soon, getting an all-over tan will be a thing of the past.

Speaking of Things Of The Past

This now sadly includes the much loved Michels restaurant in Palmer Street, which served its last mean on December 22nd. This is how the unexpected news was broken on FB.

It will be sorely missed by many, including The Pie, who just hung out for the lunch-time beef and burgundy pie. Ironic that the one time our local paper had the opportunity to use the word iconic almost correctly, it has completely missed this information which would be of far more interest than the iconic Sizzlers leaving town. (More on that shortly). Well That Didnt Take Long Did It? The Townsville Bulletin set the tone for the year on the very first day of 2019, Tuesday January 1, with a rib-tickling own goal with this front page.

Wow, all those people turning up for a pic, where did they all come from? Well, at least half of them from nowhere. Heres how this little piece of patronizing chicanery went down. First, a couple of weeks ago, this appeared on the Astonishers FB page.

Boy, be on the front page! And didnt that get them flocking in for their 15 minutes of fame not. Just 41 people made themselves available, including the Cowboys mascot and as many of the Bulletins staff who could be spared to avoid the embarrassment of attracting almost bugger interest.

Then the front page appeared, a cheesy tedious old trope of people spelling out the year. Many people more than 41, it would seem. But hang on, lets have a closer look.

Whats all this? This is what all this is.

fair to say that all those excited people were beside themselves behind themselves, and then in front of themselves. Now a while back, the flagship of News Corpse tabloids, Sydneys Daily Telegraph got a clip arround its corporate ears for photo-shopping pics of politicians in unflattering historical situations. As if we needed to be told that Kevin Rudd was a nazi! Pretending to be chastised, management decreed that in future, just so no one was misled, all photoshopped images in all News publications would carry the legend digitally altered.Someone at the Astonisher overlooked this, clearly wishing the few readers it has left would believe it was so widely popular that it had attracted a throng of NY well-wishers. but it seems someone suddenly realised that some arsesole like The Magpie maybe would tumble to the lie, so thinking they could squirm out of it, they really blew their foot off by belatedly posting this on their FB page. The Pie has asked before, and now asks again are they all bloody drunk down there? BTW, the relevant FB page is said to have attracted 4500 views which at a guess that would be comprised of 4458 editorial and advertising staff and their family and friends frantically revisiting the FB as often as they could. At least that was the drill when The Pie was taking Ruperts shilling. But Wait, Theres More The firsts for the year kept coming thick and fast. This story had people wondering if the paper had a cut-price Tardis operating

and that resulted in the first correction of the year.

Although it is quite possible that Messagebank Walker, send out last years media release, and true to form, the reporter just wrote it up with a thought of what it was actually saying. f they would know the difference. Another media release that went into the paper untouched and of course unquestioned could have been headlined Mission Impossible.

Hahahahaah gasp snurffle dont you just love the combination of casual impertinence and immeasurable benchmark of making Townsville Australias first mentally healthy city. This is pure Labor crackpottery at its best, and a great excuse to wring out a few more public dollars for pointless jobs for the boys and girls. Mentally healthy City steering committee? National leader in this field? Pray tell, just how is this going to be measured oh, wait, I know soon it will be announced that we have achieved the title of Australias mentally healthiest city, but we cant be told why or any details because of both privacy and Commercial in Confidence reasons. What an out and out rort. The Townsville City Council has no business stumping up a single cent for this totally obscure nonsense. And youve just gotta love that this call for a mentally healthy city is coming from one of the greatest rates-gouging, anxiety-creating, booze-binge inducing ineptocracies of posturing inadequates one couldnt create as fiction.

And all publicised in a paper that has long abrogated its traditional responsibilities in the interests bargain-basement kiddy journalism and a quick advertising quid (and hows that working for you, eh?) Yet Another Jarring Juxtaposition And it would appear that either no one checks advertising content against news content to avoid this sort of blundering idiocy.

But never mind, iditor Jenna Cairney knows how to thunder away about the really important issues affecting us during the week, it was oh, dear it was people who oh, The Pie cannot bear to utter the words, read it for yourself.

Now normally, itd be kind to let this slide, but its hard to ignore when the iditorial completely contradicts its own ramblings by actually quoting one of the few believable people who work for the paper, fisherman Eddie Riddle, who said sometimes, believe it nor not, people just catch no crabs. Crab pot theft happens less than people would have you believe.Clearly those people who would have you believe that it is rife include the iditor and the beat-up reporter of the original story. You know, I don’t remember enough to pick. Which really, I should. In my ancient African history course we talked at length about Egyptian gods, and then in pt 1 of my world history course we talked about Egyptian and Roman gods. If I think real hard on it I remember being the most interested in the ones that rule/ had association with the underworld. Like, Osiris, Anubis, Hades, etc. Huh.

hmm... the only thing I can think of right now is from 3rd grade when I was playing soccer and the kid with the strongest foot punted the ball and it went smack into my face and I flew backward and blacked out. I totally had that playground moment of waking up with the whole student body looking over me and them going “UUUGGHH” when I sat up and bled from both nostrils.

what i did.

Hey! So, I decided to do something different and just talk with yall bc it’s been awhile since I last posted. I want to talk about stuff I’ve been doing the past month that we have quarantine. I live in the Philippines and we currently have Quarantine here, General Community Quarantine in my city to be specific. So rules are a bit loose but it is still very strict and aware. The past month of March and April is has alot going on for me, but I don’t really like mind since I never really do anything whilst on vacation. And yes, our school usually ends in late March so this rlly is our vacation rn but know that it’s almost the end of May we have to settle with what to do for the next school year, which is concerning for me because I still haven’t decided on which school to go for the next school year. Anyways, with all that here is the stuff that I have been doing for the past couple of months that I am stuck at home! (Not necessarily in order)

Passing requirements

The usual stuff you know, it came abruptly and it’s almost the end of the school year. We were really just mostly preparing on an end of the year performance for the whole school, but it got cancelled due to the virus. And so, we got our exams cancelled and we just have to pass some final requirements in our school. And it’s kind of the hellish parts of this quarantine well for me cuz we were supposed to pass a major project back in February, but we missed the deadline and so we kept pushing and pushing it til March, I’m even thankful at this point because our professor still accepted that project of ours even if it’s already vacation...

Studio Ghibli Binge

When I found out around February I think that Netflix is going to release all of the Studio Ghibli movies, I immediately begged my mom to get back our netflix account just so I could watch them. And I’m glad I did because I was now able to watch some rlly good movies I’ve been wanting to watch for a long time, and I currently have watched 12 movies at this point. I remember watching my first studio ghibli movie at 8th grade, yes. and it was The Red Turtle which I highly recommend btw (I don’t think it’s in netflix tho) but yea, It made me hit the brakes on wanting to watch Studio Ghibli. I would tell you my current favorite, but I still haven’t watched all of them so I’m still not sure

One Month Meditation

This thing was inspired by Matt D’Avella who was doing some one month challenges himself (I recommend you check those stuff out) and so back in February during classes I also thought of some 1 month stuff I could do during the vacation and listed them out. With vacation going on, I picked the Meditation one, because I miss meditating and it’s been awhile that I am able to wake up early in the morning and meditate. How did the challenge go you ask? Well, it not went well, because I wasn’t really able to get my own quiet time with so many people at home preventing them to do work and stuff. I would try to do this challenge again, with more discipline hopefully

Devotion: Book of Mark

I remember being able to join a group as part of our retreat, cuz I really like the place that we held our retreat in. We were in a call together with our group leader and talking about stuff and apparently we’re all doing devotion together. So our leader asked us if we could do a devotion of the whole chapter of Mark in the bible, one chapter a day. and we all agreed to it. Coincidentally, Holy week came around and it was like a little refresher for me during Holy week which was nice to think about every once in a while. 

Studying Photoshop

This is something that I’ve never really took the time to do, but I actually planned on doing, but didn’t end up being wholeheartedly passionate about it. So I ended up not doing it and slacking off anyway, I do want to focus on this type of thing when I get the hang of it, because graphic design is one the life skills that I really want to obtain. 

Studying Korean

This is the one thing I definitely focused on. The thing is I already knew how to read Korean from a young age, but never rlly took the time to actually understand what their saying. So I started studying, it is VERY SLOW.  I use the website howtostudykorean.com and it teaches in units and lessons and each lesson is about 5 topics. It was a very slow pace, because I am currently on Unit 1 Lesson 5 but I am getting the hang of learning Korean for an hour almost everyday. Is it because I miss learning in an actual school? probably.

A Commonplace Book

I actually started this thing around early January when I’m collecting little trinkets and paper stuff that I want to keep, so I decided to put them all in a book. Though it’s not an actual commonplace book, I just keep random quotes and stuff and I try to find stuff to fill that book everyday. I do read books, but not as much as I do back then. 

Sketching 

Just drawing in general. I guess I was bored at the time, and I’ve taken a liking to art, so why not make some myself? Well, just small sketches here and there. I really wanna learn drawing mostly about clothes and body anatomy so I tend to focus on that. I find sketching a really relaxing activity for me, so I do this to keep me calm or when I’m just plain bored.

Reading

As I’ve said before, I started reading Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert and now I’m finished! I have stopped because most of the books I own at this point are mostly fiction books, and I would like to keep more self help books next time. I learned alot when I read this book and it made me want to step out and get creative. I highly recommend because not only does it teach you a thing or two about creativity, it talks about some stuff that isn’t being usually talked about when it comes to creativity, hard work and how it all ties together.

Yes. Don’t ask. Who am I kidding go ahead! I have known mystic messenger for a long time, but I haven’t really actually played this game til this April. I’d like to say that I thoroughly enjoyed each and every part of it and would love to play more, though I don’t have enough hourglasses to continue

Animal Crossing Pocket Camp

OMAYGUDNESS DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED WITH THIS GAME. It all really started at the beginning of quarantine. Where everyone is getting hyped up because the new Animal Crossing game came out right after they implemented quarantine. So my broke self can't afford switch was kinda sad about it but then the days moved on. I ended up watching gaming videos of animal crossing and looking for some memes that I can share with my friends. One day, my best friend told me that Animal Crossing has a mobile game and I am floored. Of course I went on the internet to search and low and behold there is Animal Crossing Pocket Camp. But then I checked, and it wasn't available to download on my country, but I figured out a way to do so and have now been addicted ever since!

Catching Up on Anime 

Hun you have no idea how many series have I started but ended up not finishing because of school! I was rlly planning on catching up on both the Ghibli and the Anime but that didn't work (I ain't even finished with the Studio Ghibli stuff up to now) I would like to make a list but that would be too many...The one series that I have been aching to watch though is called Beastars and I was so happy that Netflix has put it back on it's list of series!

The good old Astonisher showed its going to be more of the same in 2019, sleight of hand, selective reporting and all manner of insulting idiocy same old, same including a spectacular miss this weekend not a word about one of Townsville most long standing favourite eateries bites the dust Michels On Palmer Street is no more. Bancroft boo-boo Channel 7 embraces fake news: so lacking in a sense of the ridiculous, theyre about to disappear up their own ummm kazoo. And the President turns on the pester-power: Trump throws the biggest and longest tanty in living memory ruining the holiday season for thousands of his own people. But first For those many people who have been inquiring about Mark Donnellys funeral in Cairns, it will be at 2pm Wednesday Jan 9th, at St Francis Church, Mayer Street, Cairns. Vale, mate Moving On Its climate change on Bentleys mind. Our toonist is originally a Croweater from Adelaide, and he was amazed to see the jam packed crowds on Adelaide beaches in a TV report about the ghastly weather theyre having over there. The Pie also recalls that during his time in the City of Churches, beach-going was an occasional thing and attracted only sparse crowds to the sandy shores. But Bentley believes climate change is rapidly altering time honoured Aussie pastimes, and soon, getting an all-over tan will be a thing of the past.

This now sadly includes the much loved Michels restaurant in Palmer Street, which served its last mean on December 22nd. This is how the unexpected news was broken on FB.

It will be sorely missed by many, including The Pie, who just hung out for the lunch-time beef and burgundy pie. Ironic that the one time our local paper had the opportunity to use the word iconic almost correctly, it has completely missed this information which would be of far more interest than the iconic Sizzlers leaving town. (More on that shortly). Well That Didnt Take Long Did It? The Townsville Bulletin set the tone for the year on the very first day of 2019, Tuesday January 1, with a rib-tickling own goal with this front page.

Wow, all those people turning up for a pic, where did they all come from? Well, at least half of them from nowhere. Heres how this little piece of patronizing chicanery went down. First, a couple of weeks ago, this appeared on the Astonishers FB page.

Boy, be on the front page! And didnt that get them flocking in for their 15 minutes of fame not. Just 41 people made themselves available, including the Cowboys mascot and as many of the Bulletins staff who could be spared to avoid the embarrassment of attracting almost bugger interest.

Then the front page appeared, a cheesy tedious old trope of people spelling out the year. Many people more than 41, it would seem. But hang on, lets have a closer look.

fair to say that all those excited people were beside themselves behind themselves, and then in front of themselves. Now a while back, the flagship of News Corpse tabloids, Sydneys Daily Telegraph got a clip arround its corporate ears for photo-shopping pics of politicians in unflattering historical situations. As if we needed to be told that Kevin Rudd was a nazi! Pretending to be chastised, management decreed that in future, just so no one was misled, all photoshopped images in all News publications would carry the legend digitally altered.Someone at the Astonisher overlooked this, clearly wishing the few readers it has left would believe it was so widely popular that it had attracted a throng of NY well-wishers. but it seems someone suddenly realised that some arsesole like The Magpie maybe would tumble to the lie, so thinking they could squirm out of it, they really blew their foot off by belatedly posting this on their FB page. The Pie has asked before, and now asks again are they all bloody drunk down there? BTW, the relevant FB page is said to have attracted 4500 views which at a guess that would be comprised of 4458 editorial and advertising staff and their family and friends frantically revisiting the FB as often as they could. At least that was the drill when The Pie was taking Ruperts shilling. But Wait, Theres More The firsts for the year kept coming thick and fast. This story had people wondering if the paper had a cut-price Tardis operating

and that resulted in the first correction of the year.

Although it is quite possible that Messagebank Walker, send out last years media release, and true to form, the reporter just wrote it up with a thought of what it was actually saying. f they would know the difference. Another media release that went into the paper untouched and of course unquestioned could have been headlined Mission Impossible.

Hahahahaah gasp snurffle dont you just love the combination of casual impertinence and immeasurable benchmark of making Townsville Australias first mentally healthy city. This is pure Labor crackpottery at its best, and a great excuse to wring out a few more public dollars for pointless jobs for the boys and girls. Mentally healthy City steering committee? National leader in this field? Pray tell, just how is this going to be measured oh, wait, I know soon it will be announced that we have achieved the title of Australias mentally healthiest city, but we cant be told why or any details because of both privacy and Commercial in Confidence reasons.
