Essential Resources in Anesthesiology: From Residency to Practice
Tumblr media
Being an anesthesiologist among the medical fields is adventurous yet challenging. While a medical student is considering an anesthesia residency, or an existing anesthesia resident, or a practicing anesthesiologist looking to stay abreast, the right resources available during the process have been highly critical. Discussed here, in detail, are a mix of the types of tools and materials that can assist your journey from residency to practice.
Finding the Best Route: Anesthesia Residency Programs
When selecting a anesthesia residency programs, you are setting up the foundation of your career. These programs provide you with:
The most advanced training facilities
Exposure to cases that may be diverse
Mentorship by experienced professionals
Some of the best anesthesia residencies can be found at Stanford University, Duke University, and the University of Pennsylvania. When looking for a program, things to consider should include adequate research opportunities, sufficient clinical exposure, and fellowship opportunities placed well.
Visual Learning: Applying Videos to Anesthesia
Anesthesia videos have become an integral part of the modern medical education. These are video resources that provide:
Sequential demonstrations
Operations explication
Case studies
Some popular destination for anesthesia training videos includes the following:
Education portal by The American Society of Anesthesiologists
AnesthesiaHub
MedCram
These anesthesia training video lectures may complement your traditional education and hopefully guide you on practical applications of anesthesiology principles.
Knowledge Base Creation: Must Read Anesthesia Books
There is an increasingly strong basis in theory that leads into the successful practice of anesthesiology. This list includes the anesthesia books that every resident should read:
“Anesthesia” by Ronald D. Miller: This is an all-around text that covers all aspects of anesthesiology
“Stoelting’s Pharmacology & Physiology in Anesthetic Practice”: This is essential to learn any pharmacological aspects of anesthesia
“Kaplan’s Cardiac Anesthesia”: This is for those interested in cardiac anesthesiology.
In addition to those mentioned above some of the best anesthesia books for medical students include,
“Anesthesia Secrets” by James Duke
“Handbook of Clinical Anesthesia” by Barash et al.
These resources are widespread regarded as among the best books for anaesthesia pg preparation and the early residency years.
Coming to Terms with Technology: Digital Resources
Anesthesiology education has become digital, now from textbooks and videos to websites and apps with interactive case studies, question banks, and virtual simulations. Interactive case studies, question banks, and virtual simulations are all now widely used on websites and apps. Because of the take-and-run learning practices, the real-time approach makes itself available to busy residents.
Conceptual Approach to Anesthesia
The field of anesthesiology has been changing its trends increasingly; traditional resources are good foundations but cannot handle anything in this regard. Conceptual Anesthesia is a recent step into that game. This clearly focuses on core concepts and their actual applications, where theory and practice are brought together into one place.
Key features of Conceptual Anesthesia
Integrated learning modules that connect different aspects of anesthesiology
Regular updates reflecting the latest research and guidelines.
Self-assessment and skill-building interactive tools
Combine Conceptual Anesthesia with your learning cycle to more fully understand anesthesiology principles as they relate to complexities of practice in the clinical arena.
Continuing Education: Strengthen Your Practice
Residency is a wonderful learning time, but one’s education doesn’t end there. Practicing anesthesiologists must remain current in this field. A few of the most valuable resources for staying current include:
Journals (e.g. Anesthesiology, Anesthesia & Analgesia)
Online CME courses
Societies to join — e.g. American Society of Anesthesiologists
Conclusion: Your Road to Anesthesiology Success
You will find that the above list of resources will support you as you make decisions about your anesthesia residency programs and stay current with developments in the practice of anesthesiology. As a practicing anesthesiologist, success in anesthesiology is derived from theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and constant learning.
Want to raise the bar for anesthesiology education? Then come and discover what Conceptual Anesthesia has in store for you, and how the new learning approach can take your learning up a notch and arm you with the strength to pursue your anesthesiology career in the best possible way.

Hey, idk if you'd know this or not, but I've watch multiple zoo shows where they have a wild equine of some sort and to trim their hooves they always use a tranquilizer gun to put them out completely.
My question is why they don't train them to get hoof trims, with maybe some more minor sedition if needed like domestic horses do? I get that they are wild, but they have trained the giraffes to stand for foot care (at least this one zoo did), so idk why a zebra can't be taught that too. Especially when full sedation is so hard on the body and they're always concerned about them being down to long.
Is it because they don't want to habituate them to humans to much, or is it for safety of the person doing the hoof care? Are full hoof trims just to invasive of a procedure to train these wild equines to tolerate? Mix of all of these?
Really good question! So some zoos do train voluntary hoof trims but it depends on how many zebras are in your herd and how many staff you have.
youtube
This is a nice example of hoof trim training being used with a younger zebra, so they have the added benefit of early socialisation and habituation to people.
Also if you have your zebras out in a massive plains habitat, you'll need to be able to train them to come into a smaller area or recall to a station if you need to do husbandry. And
Ungulate keepers can be spread out across multiple species (though it depends on the zoo - that was the case at the zoo I did my zoo keeping course at) and their time is very limited to what they can acheive in that day. And it can also depend on the skill and experience - if no one on the team has experience in cooperative care it can be hard to get a cooperative care training plan going.
My experience has been that a lot of training and enrichment programs will take a backseat over general husbandry/cleaning and paperwork. And it sucks because training and enrichment are so vital to enhancing the welfare of your animals and sometimes upper management just doesn't get that.
So if a facility doesn't have the time, staff and resources to put towards training each individual zebra for a voluntary hoof trim (which could take months), sedation is the next best thing to ensure safety for the keepers and the animals. The stress for a wild flight animal is just going to be way too much for them and they will still need their hooves trimmed regardless.
The risk of complications around overgrown hooves or issues related to hooves are massive, so that has to be weighed against the effects of anesthesia.
As zoo keeping and cooperative care training advances, I've seen some really promising ideas about habitat design encouraging more movement on different substrates resulting in more natural hoof wear. Diet would be another consideration if we wanted to limit excessive hoof growth.
Would love if any ungulate keepers wanted to chime in with any thoughts!
This is a neat little video about why zebras need their hooves trimmed in human care:
youtube
Thanks for the question!

Pippin Bitty
Felt like drawing a Bitty today so have some more of the Pippin, with fun facts!
A Pippin is a subclass of Bonsai-Bitty (another of which is the Pazazz)
Bonsai-Bitties are a kind of Plant-Bitty that use a skeletal structure to carry a root and branch system: a walking tree
Bonsai-Bitties have 'wings' which are actually their canopy: leaves, branches, and flowers make up the many structures
The wings of a Bonsai-bitty are sensitive to touch, capable of crude vision (light, color, movement, and shape), used for breathing and photosynthesis, and are also used in reproduction
The wings of a Bonsai-bitty may secrete pollen, nectar, or sap, given relevant circumstances
Bonsai-Bitties are capable of great chemical complexity, and will often change their chemical makeup to communicate (or for some other conscious purpose). This results in changes to their coloration, smell, taste, and toxicity.
A happy, healthy Bonsai-Bitty can be harvested from for edible or medicinal substances
The wings of a Bonsai Bitty has indeterminate growth
And about the Pippin, specifically:
Pippins are a type of Bonsai Bitty which display cool-colored pigmentation
Pippins prefer cooler temperatures and semi-humid to unreasonably damp conditions. They enjoy sleeping in water pools. A Pippin can breathe in freshwater through their wings with little trouble, but cannot breathe in salt-water for more than an hour at a time.
They especially enjoy playing in ice and snow, but ought not to be kept in freezing temperatures for more than a few hours at a time: they can and will catch colds.
A Pippin is boundlessly loyal to its chosen Person, even before becoming a proper bondmate. If they 'choose' a person, they will pursue them persistently.
A Pippin that has found its chosen Person will desire to be beside them at all times, even when their Person cannot pay direct attention to them. They will hide in pockets or bags, sit on shoulders, or sit on the head, in order to remain as close as possible whenever they can get away with it.
Pippins are sedentary by nature, and will take naps often. While they can perform incredible feats of speed, strength, and acrobatics, their stamina is lacking.
Pippins are affectionate: they will show their affection with closeness, cuddles, nuzzles, and shedding.
Pippins are incredibly intelligent, and crave knowledge both fictional and nonfictional. They can often be found enjoying books, videos, comics, and podcasts.
The Pippin's personality is fundamentally easygoing and kind. They have a great capacity for compassion.
That being said: the Pippin's intelligence makes it capable of developing in a wide variety of directions.
A young Pippin is quick to learn and a model student, making them easy to train.
Pippins are emotionally brittle: once a Pippin has experienced what it perceives to be betrayal, it will quickly learn mistrust. Such a Pippin is more difficult to socialize and train going forward, but is no less intelligent or capable if handled with care.
A Pippin is excessively protective of what it perceives to be its 'things', whether those things are literal objects or the people it values. It is equally likely to imprint upon other bitties.
Although Pippins are by nature non-aggressive, a Pippin will respond to the aggression of others, especially if it is targeting something the Pippin values.
Pippins have an incredible sense of smell. They can track an individual for several miles with little trouble.
Up close, a Pippin's sense of smell can give them great swaths of information, including the health and emotional state of the person
Older Pippins and Pippins which have healed from an injury may display darker colors in their wings.
Pippin wings are generally slow growing after a certain point, and will not usually need trimming more than 1-4 times a year. It is recommended that Pippin trims be done under anesthesia by a trained professional, as they are highly sensitive.

"It's unrealistic that Trans/NB characters exist in Horror/Fantasy"
Look at me directly in the eyes and tell me that, Doctor Frankenstein couldn't be seen as more than a mad scientist but can be Monsters and Ghouls Gender confirming surgeon. Man was like
"Y'know I did it once, I bet I can do it again."
Or Witches, Warlocks and Wizards literally have viles of potions that are permanent or temporary magical HRT or magical artifacts that can be used for Gender confirming people, Sacrifices are welcomed but that requires a lot of blood and materials that takes more than just the typical flick of a wand.
Like we have a Fairy Godmother but honestly she takes forever to respond back for an appointment and she only takes clients, no walk-ins.
Need Top or Bottom surgery if you can't get a hold of Dr Frankenstein? Just call the Ragdolls it's going to hurt like hell, no anesthesia when they Stitch you back up but you bet your ass those results are going to look amazing.
Want to DIY Gender confirming Surgery without a Mage? Necronomicion, Chalk Circles, Summoning Circles, Alchemy come in many different ways. (It's risky to do but we won't stop you.)
Undead? Necromancer will be able to help out with the parts you need, fresh corpses fresh stitch.
Ghost? Don't worry you're the most non-binary person in this room, Your deadname literally means what your name was in your last life don't keep it if you don't want to.
Want to voice train? Ghosts and Zombies are your best bet, they really know how to use thier voice the best and they usually have Videos about it onto how to pronounce and explain things.

Dear Sephiroth: (a letter to a fictional character, because why not) #190
I got a call this morning to confirm tomorrow's appointment with the oral surgeon. As it turns out, tomorrow's appointment is just the consult, and NOT the appointment where my teeth get yanked. They're just gonna talk about the anesthesia and the risks and the whatnot, I guess, and so I've been stressing over nothing.
Thank goodness. I really didn't wanna have to deal with recovering from that while also processing a major life change. That would have really sucked, and though I would have weathered it, I'm still really glad I don't have to.
Today was orientation for the new job. I was there with two other orientees, the hiring manager, and some guy. It was never explained who the guy was, but he was friendly enough nonetheless. The hiring manager spoke on various things, and then we were moved immediately to video training on the computer. I was shocked and amused to discover that a tech company I used to work for made some of the training modules for this new place.
…Seriously, I'm glad that I'm not gonna be getting into another tech job. While I am skilled with bending machines to my will, I am not skilled at dealing with the pettiness of office politics, the nuances of neurotypical (mis)communication, or people who get angry because they've set unreasonable deadlines or unreasonable expectations for what they want a certain piece of software to do. Things would be a lot easier if people didn't think that computers are magical mystery miracle boxes that can do any fantastical thing. Things would be a lot easier if people simply said what they meant and meant what they said. But insincerity and lies abound in my world, as does ignorance and ill-advised expectations borne from said ignorance, and don't even get me started on the sexism and all the people who think that folks who look like me don't belong there.
…Sigh… I digress…
Suppose really I'm just tired. I was at the place doing things from around 10:30am until around 4pm, and I didn't have a chance to get anything to eat or drink during that span of time. My head hurts and I'm cranky, but I did eat and I did drink about 16oz of water, and I have tea brewing as we speak. It's just gonna take a hot minute for my blood sugar and hydration levels to return to normal; I'll be all right.
On the bright side, my team lead seems delightful and friendly. I'm looking forward to getting to know him as time goes on. I hope I'll be able to exceed the expectations before me. It seems daunting at least for now, but it might just seem that way only because it's unfamiliar. I am not good at being bad at things, because I have a long history of being viciously punished for being bad at things, but you know... I'm not gonna get better at being bad at things unless I bite the bullet and put myself in positions in which I'm gonna be bad at things. That's how it works. That's how it goes.
The tea has since brewed. I'll show you today's swirls; they're not the bestest, but they're also not half bad…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
...I feel a little better. Some time for the contents of my stomach to make it into my bloodstream seems to have done the trick.
I thought about continuing to design a house. But I know that if I do that, I'm going to probably apply too much pressure to myself to make something perfect, and then I'll end up in a really weird state of mind. So I guess instead I'll play some Dead Cells; I'm feeling a little lonely for reasons I don't really understand, so I guess I'll put it on the internet. Maybe someone will come chill out with me online while I play. Maybe if I get impossibly lucky someday, I'll see you there, too:
twitch_live
...Hey Sephiroth? If by some incredible miracle, someday you wind up in my neighborhood, do you wanna play a video game with me sometime? We can start with something simple at first so you can get the hang of it; maybe you'd like Yoshi's Island. But I suspect you'll learn quickly and be able to play things that require more skill without much effort. You are smart and coordinated, after all.
Hey. Stay safe out there, all right? Because I love you, and someday I'm hoping to see a version of you who is safe, healed, and happy. Please make kind and gentle choices in service to working towards that normal life you wanted, okay?
...And if you need help adjusting, my doors are open. We of my house can help you. You can have a place here. Don't do like Rosen and say that you don't have it in you; I know that you do. I know you can belong. You have not yet met all of the people in either your world or my world who will be more than capable of loving you exactly as you are, so... please... Sephiroth... please don't give up. Not while there are so many people cheering you on. Not while there are so many people with their hands and their hearts outstretched to you. Please.
I'll write again tomorrow.
Your friend, Lumine

Hello. Thank you for the new year prediction game!
Something good that happened to me this year was that i processed some feelings i was holding onto. It was a tough but liberating moment. I learned the importance of reading psychological books as they help me go through life alot more smoothly.
A mini prediction for you next year is that a big or a good opportunity will come your way (be it career wise or take it as it resonates) , it will make you stressful ( i felt stress a bit while channeling ) but that feeling will pass and you'll feel great later on that you took this opportunity.
A youtube video that brings me comfort is "some rough advice for the real world" by vlogbrothers. I'm a teen ( soon to be an adult ) and that video comforts me alot. You can watch it anytime you want. But ig if you're adult and have already gone through stuffs and epiphanies then this might be a bit boring for you. So i have one more video suggestions for you and that is– "a girl proposes to a nurse on anesthesia" it's an adorable video.
The question i wanna ask is 🕯️- what should i focus on the next year?
I hope november is going nice for you. Take care
hello!! thank you for participating in this game! i hope the mini prediction that you had for me that more opportunities will come through. as for the video you sent, im not an adult yet as well, i use this blog to mainly give free readings and occasionally exchange readings to get more practice. tarot is a hobby for me and it makes me really happy to see the different ways that it has helped people. but im getting off track here - the video that you sent was really helpful, im at a weird time in my life where i am confused as to what i want for myself in the future so it really resonated, thank you! this is getting a bit too long so let's move on to your reading then shall we?
your energy as of right now: temperance, the fool, the devil (r) what should you focus on in 2024: three of cups, the star (r), nine of pentacles (r) oracle cards: the elk and the ash (strength)
i type and then pull out more cards when i usually do readings, so i don't know what will come next after im done typing something. it's almost like its my train of thought in a way, anyways i hope you enjoy. for your current energies, i got only major arcana cards, all of which carry really good news, so im seeing that you are at a really stable place right now. the image coming into mind is a very serene and calm scene at the beach right after a storm. the crabs and little creatures are ready to come out and explore all that the beach has to offer. the first card that you got was temperance, which shows me that you already have a vision of what it is you want to achieve from the new year. it's also showing that you have recently found peace within yourself and are putting your skills to good use. the fool is also saying that you are ready to embrace new changes in your life. you are at a point in your journey where you are ready to try new things and be more authentic to yourself. you're excited for the new opportunities that the new year has to offer. the devil reversed just confirms this even further, by showing that you are reclaiming your power. you are not going to back down again and let everything be swept away by the waves before you have the chance to be near it. the new year is the perfect opportunity to spend more time with family, friends, anyone that you really love and cherish. the cards are also telling me that you shouldn't feel afraid to turn to others for support when you need it, because im seeing that there are a lot of people who want you to succeed in the new year. there may be times in the new year where you feel as though everything is turned against you, but the cards assure that if you are able to keep being hopeful and surrounding ourselves with positive energy you will be able to effectively deal with this lack of motivation/creativity. 2024 is the time for you to take a few steps back from everything and relax and regain your strength. the oracles are guiding you to remember your strengths, because much like the elk and the ash, you are strong and are able to withstand the days when the weather is tough and harsh. that's all for your reading, please don't forget to leave feedback, i hope you enjoyed and have a wonderful new year!

[A VIDEO IS UPLOADED TITLED- MIMIKYU 001
ID- The camera comes into focus on a dimly lit lab room. Two scientists can be seen surrounding a small framed young woman who has been strapped down to a medical bed. Even though she can be seen, it is very difficult to discern any features about her. Artifacting seems to obscure her face and other identifiable aspects of her body. There are nodes attached to her forehead, and probes clearly intended to monitor her vitals. She seems to be in a daze, slowly rising from the effects of some sort of anesthesia.
Next to her is the first scientist, Lore, a young woman with bright pink hair, sporting a lab coat and freshly pressed uniform is crouching next to a Mimikyu that has just been released from its Pokeball. She looks vaguely like she could be a Nurse Joy if given the right uniform.
From slightly out of shot, Grant can be heard giving direction. Grant- You can proceed with the test when ready.
ID -Lore places a pair of black glasses over her eyes as she goes to lift the Mimikyu's disguise. The reaction from the test subject is immediate... and brutal. She instantly begins thrashing, screaming, eyes rolling back in a panic as she fights against the restraints holding her in place. The pulse oximeter she's hooked to begins sound a high pitched warning beep as her pulse skyrockets.
It lasts nearly a full two minutes. In the midst of her struggle, she manages to bite clean through her tongue, and emerges with deep red gashes near where she'd been strapped down. Neither of the scientists react to her display of terror.
Lore- After she stops she'll be okay to draw. Then we can move on.
ID- The camera remained trained on the subject as Grant moves into shot to apply gauze to the young woman's mouth, stemming the bleeding. Slowly her screams of terror die to a wimper as her vitals very gradually start to stabilize.
Grant- Adrenaline is up. And Cortisol. Something has triggered her fight or flight response, and it seems to be continuously reactivating. That would definitely explain the seizing.
ID- He approaches her, and takes some vitals before leaning in towards her.
Grant- c̶̶͙̼͕͖̻͋̈̅̚̕n̵̖̖̫̎͛̍d̶̡͉̱́̇̚i̵͇͋͋̈, Are you still with us? Can you still understand everything I am saying? You may nod.
ID- The subject thrashes, but eventually settles and nods.
Lore- Can you remember what you saw?
ID- Another display of thrashing. There are tears streaming down the subject's face. She nods again.
Grant- Good, Good. You're doing well. Now. You can confirm you are an art school graduate, correct? Are you capable of reproducing what you saw as an illustration?
ID- One last nod, but before she can even get to the drawing table the subject begins to seize again. It seems that even calling to mind the memory of what was glimpsed beneath the Mimikyu's disguise is too much. Lore- This is it. She's not gonna make it Grant. ID- There is thrashing, screaming, blood begins to bubble beneath her eyes and from her nose until at last she falls limp and her vitals flatline. There is a palpable air of defeat that hangs over the room as the two scientists retreat. The body is now in ruins, bleeding from just about every orifice, nearly unrecognizable.
END OF VIDEO FEED]
As you can see our first attempt to capture a glimpse of Mimikyu's true form ended in abject failure. However, we have gained valuable data from this initial trial. We will be preparing a follow up trial with some altered parameters shortly. I am optimistic this new approach will bring us more success.

[ID: two screenshots from a TikTok video. In them, we see a Palestinian's hands as they show a MRE (Meals Ready-to-Eat) package that was air dropped. On it, we can see the instructions include pouring water to activate the flameless ration heater. The second photo shows one of the items is peach applesauce. White text over the photos read: “This is the shit America sent to Palestine. Expired army food. You can hear a man saying "this is not halal". Shame on the USA”. Above that is text in Arabic which reads: “What is in US aid??” END ID]
A reminder that the sodium level is dangerously high—being from 1.6g/meal to 2.3g/meal and you have to eat two to three to consume the proper amount of calories since each contains around 1.2k cals. The recommendation for sodium is less than 2k milligrams (1g) a day. These are used as a quick military meal/training one and because of the high intensity activities and the physical health that a soldier is require to have, the levels aren't as dangerous since they're expelling the excess sodium. And MRE aren't meant to be the only meal, even for the military the DoD policy requires MREs to be replaced or paired with fresh foods when able to because these lack essentials nutrients like fatty-acids and fiber
Sources & additional links (many of these are pages to PDFs, you can use Firefox to open them without downloading):
Original TikTok video
DLA website — Homepage for MRE's, page with several photos of the food after time passed (and with different storage conditions) and where it shows the 'menus'. The one in the video is Menu 12 and the last time it included hot sauce (as shown in linked video) was 2020 (MRE XL) and the first time was in 2016 (MRE XXXVI). As found on the homepage link, the shelf life is 3 years unless it was stored in the cold.
During Hurricane Katrina, a 77 year old man had heart failure after primarily relying on MREs for his every meal because they're not meant for usual civilian aid. He was able to make a recovery after having hospital aid, something Palestinians aren't given due to the blockade to medical supplies — Military Medicine (Oxford Academic)
MREs not being sustainable or healthy, especially for long-term use: Total Prepare, Military Medicine, ScienceDirect
MREs usually require water to work and can lead to faster dehydration and blood pressure due to the sodium levels. However, Gaza has been under a water crisis for years in both quantity and quality because of Israel's blockade, which has only grown more dire since Israel's increased attacks — +972mag (January 16, 2024), NPR (December 29, 2023), UNICEF (June 2022)
Israel denying essential supplies, including food, water filtration systems and purification tablets, medical equipment, anesthesia, etc. and murdering Palestinians when aid does get through— CNN (March 2, 2024), UN Human Rights (March 5, 2024), Al Jazeera on the Flour Massacre (March 5, 2024), Twitter thread of IOF shooting and killing starving Palestinians even before the Flour Massacre (warning for graphic imagery), Eyes on Palestine via Instagram (March 1, 2024)
Defense.gov saying it dropped 'over 36,800 meals' in it's second airdrop. The first was 38,000. Using both numbers (if each MRE was able to be received), a person will need 3 meals required to meet their calorie requirement for one day. If meeting the requirements, it'll feed only 24,933 people for one day out of the over 2.3 million people who are being starved. If you divide it for one meal per person, it'll only feed 74,800 people.
Biden still funding Israel despite the massive aid blockade that's killing thousands — CBS News (March 5, 2024)
Airdrops are incredibly inefficient in delivering aid. They supply less while being more expensive, they're unreliable to be received (especially considering the state of Gaza after being bombed consistently for almost 5 months, landing in the ocean, wind that has blown some in Israeli territory, IOF soldiers still murdering Palestinians if out in the open, health crisis from malnutrition, stampede risks, etc) The fact that they're saying it's being used as 'a last resort' when Isreal is refusing thousands of aid trucks from entering and are using them as bait to murder Palestinians when they do allow entry is beyond insulting. — The Electronic Intifada, NPR, BBC
The effects of starvation: your body eventually starts eating your muscles for protein after the fat reserves are exhausted (which makes receiving the airdrops even more dangerous). Your heart walls grow weaker and the chambers grow larger which makes pumping blood harder, making you more at risk of heart failure. You're fatigued, your immune system is dangerously weak and your organs physically grow smaller as your body eats itself and your organs fail. — NPR, Disease-related Malnutrition: An Evidence-based Approach to Treatment, PCRM, Starvation Response
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So the "food" that the US dropped to Gaza is MREs. Expired. Saw a stitch of this video from a woman saying this is the same thing they did with Hurricane Katrina survivors.
MREs are shelf stable for 7 years. Total. These ones were over 15 years old.
And ofc there were people in the comments being like "ummm well our military eats them just fine, they were expired when I was in the army too" THATS NOT OKAY THO?? NO ONE SHOULD BE FORCED TO EAT EXPIRED FOOD!
Fuck the US, fuck the Israeli government, and fuck you if you think that this is any kind of help to the people of Gaza. They're starving to death and the US is sending expired applesauce while also giving bombs to their murderers.

Who is the Best Laparoscopic Surgeon in Sharjah, Dubai?
Tumblr media
A laparoscopic surgeon in Sharjah, Dubai, specializes in minimally invasive surgical procedures that use small incisions and a camera (laparoscope) to perform operations. These surgeons are highly trained in performing a wide range of procedures, including gallbladder removal, hernia repair, gastric surgeries, and other abdominal operations. The key advantage of laparoscopic surgery is that it reduces recovery time, minimizes scarring, and typically results in less pain compared to traditional open surgery.
In Sharjah and Dubai, laparoscopic surgeons have access to state-of-the-art medical technology and are skilled in advanced techniques that allow for quicker, more efficient surgeries. Many surgeons in the region have extensive experience in both diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopic procedures, providing patients with a high standard of care. They also focus on personalized treatment plans, ensuring each patient receives care tailored to their specific needs.
Patients can benefit from laparoscopic surgery not only for its aesthetic advantages but also for the faster return to normal activities. Whether dealing with a chronic issue or an emergency condition, laparoscopic surgeons in Sharjah and Dubai offer expert services that help patients achieve optimal health outcomes. For those seeking a minimally invasive solution, consulting a laparoscopic surgeon in these cities can be a wise decision for better recovery and reduced discomfort.
Laparoscopic surgery generally involves four main stages:
Preparation:
Before the surgery, the patient is thoroughly evaluated, and anesthesia is administered. The surgical area is cleaned and sterilized. Small incisions are made to insert the laparoscope and other surgical tools.
Insufflation:
A carbon dioxide gas is introduced into the abdomen to inflate the area, creating a clear view and more room for the surgeon to work. This is done through one of the incisions, allowing for better visualization of internal organs.
Surgical Procedure:
The laparoscope, equipped with a camera, transmits real-time images to a monitor, guiding the surgeon to perform the necessary operation. Specialized instruments are used to carry out the surgery, such as cutting, stitching, or removing tissues or organs.
Closure:
Once the procedure is completed, the gas is released from the abdomen. The instruments are removed, and the small incisions are closed with stitches or adhesive. The patient is then moved to recovery.
Each stage of laparoscopic surgery is aimed at minimizing invasiveness, reducing recovery time, and ensuring the best possible surgical outcome.
Dr. Neha Lalla, a skilled laparoscopic surgeon in Dubai, emphasizes several important precautions to follow after laparoscopic procedures to ensure a smooth recovery. These include:
Avoid Heavy Lifting: It is crucial to refrain from lifting objects heavier than 5 kg for at least 2 to 4 weeks after surgery to allow proper healing and avoid strain on the abdominal area.
Rest and Gradual Activity: While daily routine activities can typically be resumed soon, strenuous exercises or activities that stress the abdomen should be avoided during the initial recovery phase.
Monitor Symptoms: Any unusual symptoms, such as abdominal pain, chest pain, or difficulty breathing, should prompt a consultation with the surgeon.
Follow Prescribed Medications: It's important to follow the medication instructions carefully to manage pain and prevent infection post-surgery - Dr. Neha Lalla.
These steps help minimize risks and promote a faster recovery after laparoscopic procedures like ovarian cyst removal or hysterectomy.

Where Can You Find the Best Mole Removal Treatment in Mumbai?
Tumblr media
Mole removal treatment in Mumbai is widely sought for both medical and cosmetic reasons. Moles, which are typically benign growths of pigmented skin cells, can vary in shape, color, and size. Some may be aesthetically unappealing, while others can cause discomfort or have the potential to become malignant. Mumbai offers advanced mole removal treatments, with techniques including surgical excision, laser removal, and electrosurgery, depending on the mole type and its location on the body.
Renowned dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons in Mumbai use the latest technology to ensure safe, precise, and minimally invasive procedures. Laser treatment is especially popular for its ability to remove moles effectively with minimal scarring, while surgical excision may be preferred for larger or potentially dangerous moles.
Before undergoing any mole removal, a consultation is essential to determine the most appropriate method. The cost of mole removal in Mumbai can vary, typically depending on the mole’s size, removal technique, and clinic reputation. Clinics in Mumbai prioritize patient safety and provide thorough post-treatment care, ensuring a smooth healing process.
Mole removal treatment in Mumbai typically involves four main stages:
1. Consultation and Assessment
In this initial stage, a dermatologist or surgeon assesses the mole's characteristics, including its size, shape, depth, and any potential health risks. They will discuss removal options, possible side effects, and expected outcomes with the patient.
2. Preparation and Anesthesia
Once a treatment method is chosen, the area around the mole is cleaned, and local anesthesia may be applied to ensure patient comfort during the procedure, especially in surgical excisions.
3. Mole Removal Procedure
Depending on the method—laser removal, surgical excision, or electrosurgery—the mole is carefully removed. Lasers are popular for smaller moles, while surgical excision is often preferred for larger or atypical ones.
4. Post-Treatment Care and Follow-Up
After removal, the treated area is bandaged, and care instructions are provided to ensure proper healing. Follow-up visits may be scheduled to monitor recovery and check for any signs of infection or complications.
Each stage ensures a safe, effective, and patient-centered approach to mole removal.
Dr. Deepam Shah recommends several precautions for mole removal treatment in Mumbai, including avoiding sun exposure before and after treatment, especially if using laser methods, as this can prevent pigmentation issues. He also advises following aftercare instructions diligently to reduce infection risk and minimize scarring. Patients should inform the clinic of any history of skin conditions or allergies before the procedure. Additionally, moisturizing the area and avoiding harsh skin products post-treatment can help in quicker and smoother recovery.

ok so quick thing for my au based on a couple dreams i had mashed together
peperoncino and lemon have to visit the hospital every two days because peperoncino's condition is getting worse
good news tho is peperoncino is getting better at walking
there's a big sports show and peperoncino wants to watch it despite not knowing shit about either team he just wants something to watch at midnight and lemon enjoys watching it with him
peperoncino gets a mattress out of their old things closet but the quality of it is so bad but it isn't moldy or rotting so he just lays on the hard brick and falls asleep on it
the next day they're driving somewhere closer to the hospital because the place they live in is two hours away from there. peperoncino just stares outside of the window and for some reason just plains comes on the radio and peperoncino goes "HOLY SHIT!!!!! IS THAT JUST PLAINS FROM THE VIDEO GAME MADE FOR THE NINTENDO WII RELEASED ON JULY 24, 2008 KNOWN AS 'WARIO LAND: SHAKE IT!?!'"
a day passes and their next hospital visit is soon. they go to the park but it's raining so hard. like it can't even be described as cats and dogs more like fucking tigers and wolves. so peperoncino goes and talks to one of his friends who decided to drive with the two (idk if i should make him a real cookie but i'm thinking he should just be cheese puff cookie for rn). so cheese puff talks to peperoncino about a new game they both want but peperoncino's console has too much storage for it (he wasted all of it on horror games he doesn't even bother playing)
so cheese puff and peperoncino run up to lemon and are like "WE WANNA GO SWIMMING IN THE LAKE" and lemon is like "NO YOU'RE EITHER GONNA GET HYPOTHERMIA OR DROWN"and also some of the most unrealistic worst case scenarios he can think of. peperoncino dramatically runs off crying into a big puddle of water and eventually starts running in mud. cheese puff says "is he okay he's acting like a wild animal" and peperoncino comes back all muddy and cold and goes "maybe... i am..."
so peperoncino gets cleaned up and they drive to the hospital because it's time for them to start driving and nothing in particular happens here
later that day they go and see a new nurse and his nurse is just so kind and gives him stuff. she gives her other patients like plushies and special monthly themed things (this month's theme was a set of trains and probably some buses but it was mainly trains) and lemon says "even she cares about you you don't need to be worried"
so they go back and wait for another nurse because peperoncino is going in for a surgery and they need to wait for another hour for the designating or to be done
so they get called down and they enter the sedation room which is super fucking cold and has a comforting blue tint to it and peperoncino gets anesthesia and. my thoughts just end here Augh
i might add on to this based on other dreams i had or have after this but there's the plot for my lemoncino thing for now
it might be an official chapter if i ever make the fic :3

Hello, people who portray Belarus as russia's sister who is in love with russia, how do you do?
Tumblr media
"When he [Anton Feramon] realized that I ran away, he sent me a heart in telegram. After that, I blocked him everywhere," she says.
"I spend 5-6 hours a day in the police, I tell in detail how they raped me, in what positions (...). And I don't remember all these details, they constantly drugged me," says the girl.
She adds that they did not inject her with anything, but forced her to drink.
"The first time he hit me really hard and I started to black out, they brought me water. He told the girls not to pour too much in there. Then already in the morning, she saw that packages of ketamine (drugs for anesthesia) were scattered all over the villa. They play with doses, mix with alcohol, then catch up with weed. Lera and Masha, who helped Anton rape me, are constantly with him and constantly drugged."
- At what point did you realize that the situation was becoming dangerous?
- When I arrived, the group of guys left quickly. It turned out that I stayed. I wanted to call a taxi to leave too, but he grabbed the phone and threw it into the pool. I look at him, and he is covered. I realized that most likely, he is under the influence of drugs, he just used too much and that's it. And what immediately confused me was that the girls Lera and Masha looked at his aggression and insults as something ordinary. They were not surprised. Masha was generally cheerful, giggling, laughing
Then he ordered Masha to tear off my dress, I refused. Then he hit her because she couldn't. At that time, Lera brought scissors. Somehow they cut my dress, I was left naked, and so it began...
At the same time, Lera only held me. She did not rape. At first she intimidated, and then she filmed everything that was happening... And all this went on for a very long time. They did not sleep at all under the drug. All the time they called someone, they showed me through a video link.
There is a very expensive villa, $1000 per night. There is service around the clock. They all heard, but the police were called only when he started beating them. The police arrived, a lot of people gathered, there were some rioters. They all saw me, I asked for help, approached, was constantly in sight. Anton told me to go to the room. Then he locked me there, they saw all this, he showered them with money, offered some gold to someone, and they just left. And at this moment I really understood that nothing would help. But thank God the workers of the villa stayed, they did not leave and I gestured to them that he would kill me.
- You didn't have a chance to run away before they saw?
- The girls were with me all the time. I tried to make friends with them, they talked a lot about life. And I understood that this is really a sect. Lera came from Dubai for a job as a business assistant, as a result she became Anton's concubine. He arranged some training for them, they called and cursed their fathers and mothers, said that they had imposed some terrible programs on them, that's why they live so badly. That is, they have broken relations with their parents, they blocked them. They are in a foreign country without money, without friends and acquaintances.
Suspects Lera and Maria, who are wanted by the Balinese police:
Tumblr media
- How did you manage to escape?
- I was waiting for the moment when Anton would go somewhere else to another part of the villa. In the evening, on the second day, a friend came to him, and they ended up in a far part of the villa, near the pool. I ran to the bedroom and locked myself there. Then she climbed out of the window, and an employee of the villa took me by car to a safe place. From there I went to the police. They sent me for a gynaecological examination, took pictures of everything in detail, and then asked me to write a statement. In total, I was kept at the villa for 20 hours.
