Thurn and Taxis by Andreas and Karen Seyfarth is an extremely overlooked and underappreciated game from 2006. The theme about building postal routes across Bavaria is a little dry and probably doesn't do much to help the game see more table time.⁣ ⁣ A step up from the Ticket to Ride series in complexity but still very easy to learn and involves hand management, set collection and route building. Airships. I played this when it was new (2007? Wow.) because I like dice games and Andreas Seyfarth knows what he’s doing, but I remember not being that enthused by it. But they were giving away copies for free at BGG.con last year, and finding anything remotely good on the giveaway shelves is not always that easy, so I re-acquired it. It was actually pretty fun to play again - light and easy but with some depth. Our collection of worker placement euros is growing. The newest addition Fields of Arle got a second play yesterday. Much faster now that we understand the rules. A lot of people have commented about the sandbox feel to the game, but while you 'can' do anything, finishing with a high point total is challenging. Surviving is easy, thriving is a complex puzzle. Atualizando a coleção Alea com os dois mais novos “lançamentos” dela, que na verdade não são realmente novos. Puerto Rico está com cara nova mais uma vez, além da alteração de alguns detalhes nos componentes e um índice de construções que facilita a vida na hora de separar as peças. 4-player Manhattan by #AndreasSeyfarth is an area control game with super-simple set of rules but with interesting decisions. Plays in about 40-60 minutes and the box recommends ages 10 and up but I can't think of any reason why families with kids a couple of years younger couldn't play it. The new tropically colorful version of Manhattan. We played this a ton in the late 90s and early 00s, and I got a little burned out on it just because it got overplayed for a relatively light game. But playing it again was pretty cool; it is definitely subtle, with more going on with the game that it first appears. The new physical design isn’t all win - the 3- and 4-story buildings are a little hard to tell apart with the translucent plastic - but I like the colors. Also the new 3-player rules are pretty interesting. Less sure about the scoring mini-expansion, but it’ll be good to try once 😀 #bgg #boardgames #andreasseyfarth
