My favourite game mechanisms: Thebes is still one of my favourite games for how it implements one my favourite mechanisms, the time track. ⁣ ⁣ In Thebes you are an archaeologist digging at ancient sites to collect treasures for points.⁣ ⁣ After learning about the ancient sites at the universities you can decide to start "digging" for treasures, represented by tokens in a draw bag. Some of those tokens are treasure and some are just dirt tokens. Keep any treasure you find but return all the dirt tokens back to the bag.⁣ ⁣ When you decide to dig at an ancient site, you first decide how much time (in weeks) you want spend searching for treasure. Using the formula on this disc, the more time you spend digging, the more "digs" into that site's draw bag pulling out tokens that you get. #j2s 5ème jour du #1j2sParJour de confinement avec #Fresco chez #QueenGames. C'est un jeu de Marco Ruskowski et Marcel SüBelbeck pour 2 à 4 joueurs à partir de 10 ans et des parties qui durent en moyenne 60 minutes. Dans ce jeu on incarne des peintres de la Renaissance qui sont chargés par l'évêque de repeindre le plafond de la cathédrale. On gagne des points en fonction des morceaux de fresque que l'on aura peints pendant la partie et des sous qu'il nous reste. Tout au long de la partie on va déterminer l'ordre du jeu en fonction de notre heure de réveil (qui entraîne des bonus ou des malus selon l'heure) et on va envoyer nos assistants effectuer diverses tâches. On va pouvoir acheter des couleurs au marché, peindre la fresque, gagner de l'argent en peignant des tableaux, mélanger des couleurs ou aller au théâtre pour se remonter le moral (se lever tôt ça ruine le moral). C'est donc un jeu de programmation et d'anticipation où il faudra bien planifier ses actions et les optimiser. Mais on risque toujours de se faire souffler nos coups par un adversaire qui joue avant nous... Ma femme avait mis un véto sur ce jeu depuis des années car au vu de la boîte et de ce que je lui en avais dit, elle n'était pas emballée. Ça a donc été l'occasion pour elle de le découvrir et en fait elle a bien aimé ! Même si elle est deg de m'avoir offert la victoire en ne choisissant pas la bonne tuile lors de son dernier coup 🤣 Score final 85 à 82 ! Autant dire que c'était très serré et grâce au challenge, elle a découvert un nouveau jeu qu'elle apprécie en dépit de ses à priori initiaux ^^ Si tout va bien, demain soir ses dinosaures/monstrapoches affronteront mes aliens/fantômes. Airships. I played this when it was new (2007? Wow.) because I like dice games and Andreas Seyfarth knows what he’s doing, but I remember not being that enthused by it. But they were giving away copies for free at BGG.con last year, and finding anything remotely good on the giveaway shelves is not always that easy, so I re-acquired it. It was actually pretty fun to play again - light and easy but with some depth.
