What’s your opinion on ElijahxCeleste? I kinda thought there was something twisted and intriguing about Celeste and Elijah and I always wished we got to see more of them.

Celeste and Elijah are my third favorite Elijah ship. They honestly would have been higher than Gia/Elijah if they had gotten the same Aurora/Klaus treatment. I talk about that more here.

I wish we could have seen more of them when they were human. How they met, how they got together, etc. We don't even know how long they were together. I have a lot of headcanons for them that make me love them more, but a lot of people don't bother giving them any because the show didn't care to develop them at all. Once again, because if they had, it would be harder to brush aside Klaus having her murdered.

Elijah tells Hayley he was only in love twice before, one of them being Celeste. That shows just how important she was to him. He didn't allow himself to love, but he loved her so much that he was distracted from his family. This is something we only see with a few women throughout the show. For someone who is a thousand years old, this is not often.

Another reason the show didn't want to explore them they way they did every other main character's past ships was because they would have been a powerhouse couple. Celeste was an Elder of the New Orleans witches, so powerful the witches wanted to consecrate her to harness that power. Elijah is one of the strongest vampires to exist (especially before Klaus unlocked his hybrid gene). If Klaus had been smart, he would have left it well enough alone, same with Rebekah and the human. They would have had almost all the factions playing nice. Elijah isn't one to want power so he wouldn't have used his relationship with Celeste to overthrow him. We also don't see Celeste having any inclination to do this until Klaus has her murdered. By killing her, Klaus made a powerful enemy.

This is where I wish the writers were more courageous. It would have been so good to see Celeste and Elijah team up against Klaus. Let's be honest, he wouldn't stand a chance. They could have done it in the 1800s right after she was killed. Elijah was mad enough I think he would have sided with Celeste. But, to me, Celeste likely didn't see Elijah move against Klaus on his own and thought Elijah wouldn't side with her. I like to think he was just numb at this point. It's also the same time Klaus pushed Elijah out of Marcel's life and Rebekah was helping Klaus raise Marcel. Elijah would have been completely isolated after Celeste's death, he was in no state of mind to plan to overthrow Klaus. Which would have been great timing for Celeste to show up and turn Elijah even further against Klaus.

But another great opportunity would have been when Elijah showed up back in New Orleans in Season 1. Elijah was still angry at Klaus, especially as Klaus did everything to push Elijah further away. Between his anger at Klaus, his fear of what Klaus planned to do to Hayley/Hope, and seeing his love come back to life, he was in the perfect place to turn on Klaus. It would have been so good. Rebekah and Marcel likely would have sided with them as well. But again, the show couldn't do that since they could actually take Klaus down.

Elijah and Celeste were the OG Klaurora but had the power to actually take over. They didn't start twisted but because of Klaus it became a dark and toxic relationship. I hated how rushed it was. Even after Elijah is essentially forced to kill her and lose her once again, we quickly move onto Klaus and Rebekah attempting to murder each other. We never get a chance to truly just feel the impact of their relationship.

Please give me your Celijah headcanons I am starving for content on them.

I have the headcanon that Elijah would follow her when she was on errands in the town. When you rewatch the scene where he first meets Sabine (knowing she's possessed by Celeste), she adresses him so casually, almost flirting, when she asks if hes gonna keep following her. Like, why do I get the feeling she would catch him following her a lot when they were together?

I have so many. This is basically just their story in my head:

The early 1800s were a time of relative peace in New Orleans. The witches, vampires, and humans would even congregate together at parties and various events (we don't know anything about the wolves of this time). But the witches never let their guard down.

Celeste was raised in a close knit family. She took her mother's last name due to her mother's strong connections with the Coven as well as the power the name held in New Orleans. Her father was a Haitian immigrant who had recently moved to New Orleans before meeting her mother. Celeste grew up learning their traditions and speaking Haitian Creole at home with her paternal family. She spent so much time with them that she developed an accent. She loved her accent as it always reminded her of the time she spent with her family as a child.

The Dubois were a powerful family who always maintained a spot in the Elders. As an only child, Celeste was raised to take over the position when her mother passed. She was raised to be strong and powerful, to be a good leader. But most importantly, she was raised to despise vampires.

Her mother died young when Celeste was only 26 years old and Celeste was thrust into the politics of the French Quarter. She was brought into the inner circle and learned of the unstable nature that was New Orleans. Less than a month after being made an Elder, Celeste attended her first council meeting. This was the first time she had ever met the Mikaelsons. Elijah was the one attending the meeting as Klaus had better things to do than the continued peace negotiations. Celeste was introduced to Elijah who rose to greet her. She couldn't help but notice that he was attractive and was thrown by his manners. She had always assumed the vampires would be cold and lewd with poor manners. She immediately shut down those thoughts, remembering everything she knew about vampires. She regarded Elijah with a cold look and moved to a different chair when he went to pull hers out. Elijah, of course, was amused by her behavior. Throughout the meeting, he couldn't help but attempt to make eye contact with her, which she purposefully avoided. When the meeting was over, she gathered her things, but Elijah was too quick and asked to walk her home. She, of course, said absolutely no and hurried out of the room, following the other elders.

They didn't see each other again for a month, until the next council meeting. At which point, Klaus had caused chaos. Elijah attempted to ease the tension, but was surprised by how vehemently the youngest elder argued against him. He couldn't help but think Celeste had a point in his inability to control Klaus, however, he took offense to the more colorful terms she used to describe vampires. Although they were likely all true. This started a rather fraught relationship between the two. Elijah attempting to keep the peace when his family seemed to do everything to create chaos and Celeste refused to give them an inch where the people of New Orleans were concerned.

After one particularly tense meeting, Elijah followed Celeste out of the council room and demanded to know why she was being so difficult, accusing her of wanting to start a war. Celeste didn't say anything but continued down the street, Elijah uncertainly followed her. She brought him to the cemetery where a family was grieving the death of a loved one. Someone who was killed by a vampire. She told him how she grew up in the grave yard, seeing family members mourn their loved ones who were taken away by the whims of the vampires. Celeste told him that if he can't control his family, his kind, than she will.

Elijah renewed his efforts to restrain his family over the next month. Placing knew rules for the vampires of New Orleans, hoping to curtail the death toll by the next meeting. He was successful and proudly stated his efforts and success at the next council meeting, to which Celeste merely stated the still very present death toll.

It went on like this for months. And for months the death toll by vampires continued to slowly decrease. Celeste couldn't help but grow fond of the proud, yet hesitant smile Elijah seemed to wear every month he would report his progress. He would look at her directly as he told her his efforts, hoping to gain her approval. She too found herself looking to him as soon as she would say anything, curious what he would think of her plans or ideas. Celeste couldn't help but recognize how brilliant he was at negotiation and diplomacy. She ignored the flush of pride she would feel whenever he gave her an approving smirk.

In the Spring, the Mikaelsons threw a party, which everyone was invited to. Despite her protests, Celeste was forced to attend by the elders. Of course, Elijah was their to greet her and welcome her to their home. She greeted him and moved past him but he followed. Celeste only stopped when he uttered the words "you were right." He told her that she was right in pushing him to try harder to restrict the vampires. He asked her to dance and she only agreed because she wanted to hear more about this revelation. As they danced, she realized that her initial attraction is still very much there, despite knowing what he was. Once the dance was over she rushed out of the home and Elijah followed, although he noticed Klaus' eyes trailing his movements, he didn't stop. He followed her down a block but she refused to stop so he sped in front of her. She stopped in surprise and threatened to melt his brain if he ever did that again. Elijah promised not to, but stated he wanted to make sure she was alright after she left so quickly. The concern in his eyes made her forget every negative thing she had heard about vampires. She nearly broke and confessed her attraction to him, the way he was leaning in made her think he already knew, but the sound of fellow witches leaving the party made her hesitate. Instead she whispered for him to meet her at the docks in the morning. He nodded once and disappeared, leaving her with her own thoughts.

She nearly didn't show the next morning, but when she finally made it to the dock and saw Elijah waiting for her, she couldn't help but feel excited. Elijah asked her what happened the night before but Celeste didn't give herself a chance to question it. Instead she kissed him, surprising even Elijah's quick reflexes. When they broke apart, Elijah couldn't help but to tease her that was what she had wanted. To kiss a "monster." She replied that that was all she wanted. It was just a mutual attraction, nothing more. Essentially proposing a "friends-with-benefits" scenario. Elijah smirked at her, causing her stomach to clench. They both knew it would be more than that.

For a month, they began to see each other in private. Elijah had rented an apartment they could meet at so his family (Klaus) wouldn't know and the witches wouldn't know. Their meetings began to be their favorite part of the day. Half the time, they would just sit and read or talk, escaping the chaos of both of their lives. They both fell quickly. They bonded over the pressure they were under to take care of their people. Of their love of music and art. They would often speak French to each other, Celeste teaching him Haitian French and recommending books to him.

However, they couldn't keep their relationship under wraps for long. The other council members began to notice their looks at each other and their whispered conversations. When the rumors started, Elijah wanted to tell his family before they found out from others. Rebekah teased him relentlessly and Klaus merely asked "who?" even though he had known since the moment they danced together.

Their relationship only got more passionate now that it wasn't a secret. Elijah found himself running to their apartment every chance he got. He found a home for the first time since he had been forced out of his village. Celeste also found herself distracted from her duties. Finding that she even began to make excuses for the vampires. Klaus began to go off the rails once more and the witches were working over time to protect their people. The vampires began to target witches as a means to stop them.

I love the idea that Elijah used to follow her when she ran errands, especially as it became increasingly more dangerous to be a witch. He knew she could take care of himself but he's overly protective of those he loves. She likely told him to stop multiple times and he ignored her each time. It became a game for her to try and spot him trailing behind her.

Elijah would bring her to his high society balls and she would complain the entire time. She hated the food, the people, the music. Elijah did to but was more tactful about it. Celeste would bring him to the jazz clubs and they would dance the night away. It was where they were both happiest.

Celeste liked PDA. Not only because of the embarrassed look Elijah would get but because she was also territorial. She especially made sure to do so when they were out dancing and she noticed other women looking his way.

When Celeste couldn't get away from the coven or her family, she would leave a book on their bed that she wanted Elijah to read. She would mark it up, even though she knew Elijah hated it, but she wanted him to read her thoughts as he read or pay attention to specific paragraphs. He would complain to her about ruining the books but he secretly loved it. He treasured the copies she left for him. Keeping them in his trunk that he kept his most valuable possessions that he could grab if they had to flee.

They would often talk about the future. Celeste would be the one to bring it up and Elijah would quickly try and shut it down, finding it unbearable to think of the future. He knew he would lose her eventually. Celeste had no desire to become a vampire and lose her connection to magic. They knew their time was limited. Celeste would often ask him to remember her young, not as she would be in her old age. He would tell her that he would find her just as lovely. Celeste had a portrait done for him to keep in his trunk as well, hoping he could keep a piece of her with him always.

They would often escape the noise of the city and go out to the edge of the woods to watch the lights of the city. Celeste would tell him that she felt the most alive out there, away from the responsibilities of the coven. That's where she asked him to make sure they didn't consecrate her body. She wanted to live free of the ancestors for once in her life, even if it was in death. But Celeste had secretly been coming up with a plan to be immortal with Elijah and it was necessary for her to maintain that power if she wanted to survive the Mikaelson family.

When Klaus adopted Marcel, Celeste encouraged Elijah to be involved. She knew Elijah's desires to be a father and they both took a liking to the boy right away. When Klaus and Kol went on a killing spree, Celeste was there for Elijah as he withdrew from Marcel. She watched how difficult it was for him and her hatred for Klaus grew. They had a tense relationship and often avoided each other at all costs. Celeste wasn't afraid to confront him and he wasn't afraid to attack her. Celeste would attempt to find common ground with him for Elijah's sake but his parenting of Marcel was the last straw. This confrontation was also the last straw for Klaus and when he set into motion his plan for Celeste's death. He didn't like being held accountable and wouldn't let Celeste take Elijah away from him.

After Celeste was killed, Elijah couldn't bring himself to let go of their apartment. He also couldn't bring himself to go back to it. It sat there, empty for decades until he fled New Orleans. Even when he went back in 2012, he couldn't bring himself to walk down their street, haunted by the memories.

After he found out Celeste was Sabine, he went back to the apartment and found it a time capsule of their relationship. It hadn't been touched except for one book which was placed in the center of the bed, Crime and Punishment. He opens the copy to see Celeste's familiar handwriting, marking up the pages. Her message is clear to him, she has spent 200 years tearing her morals apart for revenge. She may never forgive herself for her misdeeds, but his family must be punished for their 1000 years of crimes.

Sorry, this was so much but I agree, we need more Celeste/Elijah content!

How would you describe Elijah's ideal type?

I love this question.

I've heard people say Elijah likes to play savior to women, but I couldn't find this further from his actual type.

I mean look at all of these women? Not one of them is a damsel in distress. To me, Elijah had the best taste in the whole show. These women are all elite.

Elijah's ideal type is a person who is strong and independent. He likes people who can handle themselves but also can show compassion and empathy when needed.

I think all of these women reminded him of his humanity. As a human, he would have had to be tough to survive but also compassionate to help take care of his younger siblings. Each of the people we see him connect with throughout the show seem to exhibit these traits. They will do what it takes to survive but also have boundaries (for the most part).

Elijah needs someone strong enough to help him shoulder the burdens he puts on himself and also understands that he and his family won't always be in the right. They don't need to always agree with it, but help him to a more reasonable solution. They also need to understand his family and what comes with it, because to Elijah, it's non-negotiable.

He likes people who challenge him, intellectually, emotionally, physically, etc. He is constantly warring with himself on who he wants to be and who he thinks he needs to be. He may pretend to be annoyed, but loves when the people he cares about challenge him to be a better version of himself.

Elijah's sense of humor is also notoriously underrated. He wants someone who helps him lighten up and enjoy the little things in life. Someone who laughs at his sarcastic comments and makes him laugh at the ridiculousness of their life.

Definitely someone who is emotionally intelligent, because he likes to pretend he is. Again, his type is someone who will call him out when he falls short.

Someone who can enjoy music and literature would be a plus. A person who can hold intellectual conversations and talk at length about a book or movie. (Elijah will of course always argue that the book is better)

I think he also is looking for someone who wants a quiet life. A house in the country with his family around. Where they can have quiet evenings and long discussions.

He wants a partner to share his battles as well as the good in life.

What was Celeste’s plan after the Mikaelsons left New Orleans? Was she just enjoying life lol?

Also, how do you think she would have reacted at Elijah turning his back on Klaus and fomenting to actually kill him, had she knew?

Celeste's initial plan was completely derailed by Klaus having her killed. Celeste had a body prepared for her in case something happened, but it was initially a way to spend eternity with Elijah without having to give up her magic.

But then Klaus had her killed and Elijah didn't turn his back on his brother so she came up with a plan to get her revenge. We don't really know why she waited so long. The Mikaelsons were in town for about 100 years after her death. A lot of this time was very volatile. I like to think Celeste was working behind the scenes to protect her witches, however, when we see her in 2012, she seems less concerned about protecting her witches and more concerned about revenge. Another theory could be that she didn't have a way to kill Klaus for revenge but she also didn't have a way to kill him in 2012 when she summoned them back.

But I don't think she was enjoying life. From what we see, New Orleans was never a safe place for supernaturals. Rebekah kills her when she kills Genevieve. She was constantly having to hide herself. After the Mikaelsons left New Orleans, Marcel worked to take over the Quarter. It appears a war between the factions lasted until the Mikaelsons came back, which only happened because of Celeste.

I don't think Celeste ever knew of Elijah's plan to kill Klaus. This wasn't something Elijah wanted people to know so it wouldn't have spread to New Orleans. I like to think if she knew, she would have reached out to him and helped. But she also could have been angry that he didn't react that way when she was killed. Instead, it took Klaus drowning their siblings for him to turn on Klaus.

What was the end goal for Elijah with dating those witches. Celeste would have gotten old and died nonetheless. When would he have broken up with her? Would he have asked her to turn?

I don't think there was an end goal.

I headcanon that Elijah got swept up into the relationship. If you follow me, you know I've written a lot in this world and I have an outline of Elijah and Celete's relationship. But I will try and base this answer on the show and not just my headcanon. Which can be hard because we don't get a lot of background.

What we do know is that Elijah says Celeste is only the second woman he ever loved, after Tatia. This means he didn't love anyone romantically for about 800 years. And this isn't for lack of romantic interest. Elijah is romantically involved with Aya and even has a flirtation with Katerina before meeting Celeste.

To me, it seems like the Mikaelsons finally got to a point where they were settled and his siblings were happy, so Elijah allowed himself to be more vulnerable and actually fall in love.

During this time, Elijah would have been very aware of Celeste's mortality as he has already lost people and spent 800 years watching people he's known grow old and die. But he never would have asked her to turn for him. He hated being a vampire and wouldn't put that on anyone, but he would have secretly wanted her to ask. Celeste never would have asked. She was an extremely powerful witch and would not have given that up, especially knowing the risks she would be in as a baby vampire without her magic near the Mikaelson family. So they were at a standstill.

Which is why Celeste began looking into body jumping. She could live forever as other witches. She would get the best of both worlds, she could live forever with Elijah but maintain her magic. Unfortunately, that is all ruined when Klaus orders her death and Elijah does not attempt to avenge her in any way.

My favorite song for Celijah is "Wildest Dream." They knew from the beginning there would be no happy ending for them, but that didn't stop them from hoping it might be different. It didn't stop them from getting swept up in the relationship. Elijah the entire relationship would have attempted to memorize every moment, knowing the memories of Celeste would be all he had left of her one day.

I headcanon that they were slightly enemies to allies with benefits to lovers. They never meant to fall in love, knowing it wouldn't work out, but you can't always help who you fall in love with.

As far as I know, Celeste is the only witch Elijah dates. I think he does this for a reason. After Celeste, Elijah doesn't date anyone who is not immortal. He hardly even allows himself to care for anyone not immortal because he knows he will inevitably lose them. Losing Celeste hardened Elijah. He was so afraid to fall in love again. Even when he reunited with Katerina, he held himself back. He kept himself at a distance from Hayley for the longest time. He was so afraid to allow himself to love again and lose that person.
