He can feel the gaze before he sees who it belongs to. Daniel doesn't think of himself as someone recognizable by the masses; hell, half of his colleagues probably couldn't recognize him on first glance. When someone's looking, though, he notices. "Can I help you with something...?" His tone is almost bored, as if a larger part of his mind is occupied by a grocery list, or the laundry he has to pick up from the cleaners, or just what he's missing and where he can find it.

brunette is always full of questions, an endless state of being, one she knows no different than. yet she's good at seeking answers without bothering anyone else - from books, from screens, from fiddling with numbers herself. over and over through her life maeve has learnt via watching others - seeing their approaches, figuring out what comes from quirks and what parts are necessity.  ( her silence, though so easily it's labelled cold or distance,  is easily figured out to be simply her thinking away - mind too quick for anything to really make it to her lips without needs. )

"I'm sorry." maeve isn't sure if it's a criticism or not, so she treads careful line between two possibilities. "I've been trying to teach myself for if there's ever an emergency or need.  it's only a couple of questions,  if you ever get the time..."
