✧ rising star ;
afterschool club was a cute web show that sunmi always wanted to go on when she was a trainee. it was a place where she could be a little more herself because it’s a variety show and it’s primarily in english. it would be nice to practise her second language a little more (although nowadays she gets more use out of it any time she speaks to wendy). knowing she would have to speak a lot more considering she was leader as well gave her a sense of peace. and*roma would do well on afterschool club! quite a few of them could speak english.
there was a sense of ease knowing that even if another member struggled with a translation, a few of them could put their brains together and help. not to mention that they wouldn’t need as many translations during the live show. “ah, maybe i’ll host asc one day,” sunmi whispered jokingly to wendy before they got to their seats. who knows, maybe she will.
she sat with a blanket on her lap to cover her legs. when they’re introduced as nova’s latest girl group she gives a quick peace sign with a smile. “wah, thank you!” she says, grinning. she definitely felt more comfortable speaking english. it was more casual. the tension in her shoulders slowly left. anyone who knew sunmi could see she was more comfortable. “we’re really excited to be here today. it’s really cool to speak english more often,” sunmi says, handing off her mic to wendy for her to speak as well. sunmi already anticipated a few questions and segments, having watched afterschool club several times herself. she felt fully prepared in her mind.

After all that hard work, it’s finally time for the girls to show what they were preparing.
On November 11th, the girls will record their dance practice in the morning of both ‘Deja Vu’ and ‘Pepe’. The Pepe video will be uploaded to NOVA’s official YouTube channel on November 25th, while Deja Vu will be uploaded on the 28th.
When November 18 comes, it’ll be the official date of their debut.
Their debut showcase starts at 7PM sharp, and it’s their first time appearing as AND*ROMA after the conclusion of the survival show. It all starts with their intro video playing on the giant screen behind the stage as their first introduction. The famous MC Kang Seunghee will host the event, and once they’re all on the stage, the girls will do their first official greeting together. The first half an hour will involve them introducing themselves to the public as well as giving any small piece of information that may stick with the audience. The MC will ask other things such as official and unofficial positions in the group and then an explanation of their concept, album and title song. They’ll perform ‘Deja Vu’ first, thirty minutes into the event. Once they’re done, they’ll perform a stage of ‘Pepe’. The MC will ask questions regarding first impressions both with their songs and with members, as well as any interesting experience when shooting the music videos. The boys will perform ‘Open The Window’ sitting on chairs and then, as a last goodbye, they’ll stand up for a performance of ‘OK’. Once they leave the stage, their showcase will be over. Their outfits will be as seen below:
Chaeyoung — Yeeun (with pink coat)
Kaeun — Yeeun
Meiqi — Yujin
Seungwan — Seunghee
Solji — Sorn
Sunmi — Seungyeon
From this day on, the six girls will be known as AND*ROMA, the newest girl group of NOVA.
The following is the music show promotion schedule for AND*ROMA’s ‘Pepe’ activities:
11/20, 11/27, 12/04, 12/11: MBC Show Champion
11/21, 11/28, 12/05, 12/12: Mnet M!Countdown
11/22, 11/29, 12/06, 12/13: KBS Music Bank
11/22, 11/29: Arirang Simply K-Pop
11/23, 11/30, 12/07, 12/14: MBC Music Core
11/24, 12/01, 12/08, 12/15: SBS Inkigayo
11/26, 12/03, 12/10, 12/16: MTV The Show
During the first week of promotions, AND*ROMA will use ‘Deja Vu’ as their sibling song and performing its short version alongside the title track. For any day that you do not have to perform or have any other schedules, you may have a break at the dorms unless said otherwise.
Music show promotions will last for a total of four weeks this time. Programs will begin pre-recording early in the morning and groups are expected to stay at the broadcasting station until the live broadcast takes place later in the day. Although music shows in real life follow varied recording schedules, for IC writing purposes, the schedule for every music show will follow this consistent pattern:
06:20AM: at broadcasting station: basic first rehearsal on stage; no makeup, casual clothes.
06:45AM: head to salon: get makeup and hair done.
07:45AM: return to broadcasting station: eat breakfast, nap in dressing room/space.
09:00AM: dress rehearsal on stage; stage outfits, makeup on.
09:20AM: return to dressing room/space: rest, eat, nap.
11:00AM: final camera rehearsal on stage; stage outfits, makeup on.
11:15AM: greet senior artist groups at their respective dressing room/spaces, accompanied by a manager. you may not sleep during this time, up until the live broadcast.
07:00PM: live broadcast; when not performing, must stay in dressing room/space until the ending stage of the show.
08:00PM: line up in waiting room area to formally greet producers, director, and senior staff.
09:00PM: meeting time with fans who attended the recordings.
10:00PM: return to dressing rooms to clean up, change back into casual clothes.
11:00PM: arrive back at dorms.
On applicable Fridays, members leave the KBS building for recording Arirang Simply K-Pop which airs 1PM ~ 2PM.
On November 26th, all the members of AND*ROMA will go together to Super K-pop Radio at 4PM where they’ll answer to questions as well as sing their own songs. The girls will all go together on November 27th to a recording of After School Club at 1PM as based on this episode. On December 2nd, they’ll go to MBC Idol Radio starting at 9PM.
While they won’t be competing for any rookie awards this time, AND*ROMA was still invited to take part in the Mnet Asian Music Awards on December 4th. And*roma, having only just debuted, will join the special rookies stage inspired by this video along with PER_SE and two other rookie groups. It’ll start with each group performing a short version of their debut song. The groups will go in the following order: BG2->AND*ROMA->GG2->PER_SE. After the first boy group goes, AND*ROMA will perform their song and then sit down on the seats on the back of the stage. They’ll come in and perform ‘Pepe’ (0:20-1:05). You can find a line distribution for the special stage right here. For the dance pairs, it goes like this: Hugo&Chaeyoung; Junju&Meiqi; Nori&Sunmi; Yuchan&Seungwan; Jungwoo&G.Soul; Hui&Kaeun. Since the event will take place in Japan, they’ll fly over there on the day before and return soon after the end of the event. Their roommates were separated as: Solji&Chaeyoung&Seungwan; Kaeun&Meiqi&Sunmi. The two groups will not practice together until the day before the show for the final stage check. However, since PER_SE and AND*ROMA are under the same company, they’ve arranged a private practice on November 29th for the two groups to prepare together before the event.
Congratulations! Starting with month, AND*ROMA will begin the IDOL SCHEDULES and are eligible to participate in the IDOL SHOP and all that’s included. More information can be seen below and on this guide, as well as the new requirements and points reward methods.
You will gain +5 POINTS TO DISTRIBUTE AS YOU WISH, +3 DEBUT POINTS and +2 ACHIEVEMENTS for completing the written requirements explained on the idol tier page. Reaching For the Stars
Wendy never imagined she’d live to see this day come, but here she is.
Debut.
It’s a word many people in the company have long fought and waited for, yet she was one of the few to have made it all the way. It’s been a long time since Nova debuted any groups, so the competition was more intense. The emphasis of that intensity was most evident during the SN Project. However, that phase of her life is over now, and they’re about to start a new one.
It shouldn’t be anything too dramatic. After all, just because she managed to make it to debut doesn’t automatically mean the group will succeed. The real work is just beginning, and she knows that. However, the fact that there are people outside of their friends and family who actually came to see them warms Wendy’s heart. It drives home the point that they made it this far. Maybe she can still allow herself to hope and be optimistic about things.
She gives it her best for the many people who have come to see them. She also does her best to prove that she deserves her spot in the line up. She's aware that she hasn't been endearing to the public during her last appearance as a coach during the MGAs, so she's performing with all she has to prove her point. She had given up too much of her life for this, so she owes it to herself to do her best. This is their first public appearance as a team, and she better make it count. First impressions are a big deal, and can probably make or break a team.
The interview portion allows Wendy to calm her nerves somewhat. While there are some people who are more nervous as they talk, it calms her somewhat. They have practiced this many times, and it's time to be proud of all the hard work they put into this. At least, that's what she thinks. This is the next level. They're no longer trainees longing to stand under the bright lights. Wendy is now an idol standing onstage. It's time for her next mission: to become a successful idol.
There are many people who have believed in her for all these years. It's now Wendy's turn to repay them for their faith in her. It's time to aim even higher than before.
AND*ROMA, fighting!

✧ sparkling stars ;
getting ready for the showcase was nerve wracking. it was the first introduction of themselves as a group. they had to be charismatic as well as not nervous and rigid. they would have to charm the people who are still deciding to be and*roma fans or not. while in theory it seems simple, it definitely isn’t. not when they had to be crafty with the personas they choose to present. whether it was real or not, they had to charm the audience somehow.
“have you thought about what your intro is going to be?” she asked kaeun while they were waiting for the start. they already were told that the beginning of their showcase was going to be an interviewed session. they were going to have to introduce themselves as and*roma and themselves. it was something they were going to be known for. what’s the most impressive or catching thing to mention? sunmi wasn’t sure what would be considered interesting for herself. maybe some ideas will come to her when its time.
“i’m still bouncing on what i should use. i don’t want to seem full of myself with my intro or too boring.” everyone looked so pretty for the showcase. the leader had seen a range of expressions on her member’s faces. though nerves was common on most. even herself. there wasn’t much time left before their showcase was to start (since when did 30 minutes suddenly feel so damn suffocating?) she just wanted to feel a little more prepared.

✧ right here ;
after five -- nearly six -- years in waiting for this exact moment, sunmi would be a little more prepared for actual debut. as hard as she fought for it, as much as she cried for it and as much as she envied other trainees-turned-idols, she wasn’t ready. she previously thought the minute she would be on the cusp of her first debut performance, she’d be all in. nothing would be in her way because she essentially made it. this was a moment she would cherish for the rest of her life.
waiting back stage was a rude awakening for younger sunmi. at some point in the past few years she genuinely considered calling it quits. she was getting too old. by the time her group would be in their prime, she would be 30. she was already more than halfway there and that’s just with international age.
now that debut was staring her right in the face she was choked up. she didn’t think she would make it here. suddenly she wonders if she was ever truly ready or if hyun bin just wanted to make some use of her before she was too old and she was ultimately wasted resources.
sunmi looks over at her group members with the facade of calm that she always wore. internally she was nearing on freaking out. was she the only one not really ready for this? was she the only one who feared public reception which would essentially seal their fate? her eyes land on meiqi, who is the closest to her. the leader reaches out to the youngest, small frown now gracing her features. it was the only indication that sunmi was even remotely bothered by anything.
“hey,” she whispers in english to the other. she gave meiqi’s hand a squeeze. it must have been stressful for their youngest for opposite reasons that it was so stressful for her. “how’re you feeling?”

And It Goes Like This
@rkmeiqi
Wendy’s not going to lie. She will admit that she’s sad that they debuted too late in the year to be considered for Rookie of the Year awards for 2019. She wonders whether they will be eligible for the award in 2020 instead. Then again, with so many more popular artists promoting at the same time as they are, she isn’t expecting to be able to win any awards. The bright side is that they still get to perform at the awards shows. She supposes it’s better than not doing anything.
They’re rehearsing for the choreography for their special stage with PER_SE. She’s glad that they’re actually given parts and aren’t just there to be the boys’ glorified backup dancers. She decides to go bug Meiqi for some extra practice. Wendy admit she’s not as good a dancer as the other girl, but she likes to think she has improved a bit. “Meiqiiiii,” Wendy says as she clings to the other girl. “I need your help.” She rarely turns up the aegyo, but Meiqi is her friend so she doesn’t really care how ridiculous she sounds right now.

☆゚.*・。゚ AND* HERE WE GO ˎˊ˗
this was big. sunmi wasn’t sure she was ready for it but there it was, staring her in the face: debut. there’s something imposing about the word. debut seemed so serious, like a new chapter in her life. the change was supposed to be monumental but in reality, it wouldn’t be. it was more like a change in status from do not disturb to online. (or invisible, considering trainees don’t do much?) it was a subtle transition. there was no guaranteed success straight out of the gate.
so why was she so nervous?
even if there was some hiccups along the way or if they weren’t appealing enough, fans come with time. there was no real pressure beyond just doing the same thing they have been for the last several months in the practise room. they’re not performing in front of the whole nation. hell, it’s not even a thousand people yet. it was only a little over one hundred (maybe even two?) yet even as she tried to make the showcase seem less serious, less earth-shattering, she couldn’t shake the feeling and sunmi knew that no matter what, she had to give it 100%
she’s a little stiff and jittery next to her members while on stage. there’s an interview portion that goes on for a good thirty minutes before they actually perform. sunmi has a problem sitting still knowing she has to be active later on. she wants to get it out of the way. with serious will power, she sits still and waits.
they do their introduction as practised. the reception from the audience is warm. the cheers leave butterflies in sunmi’s stomach. it feels nice to have fans, to have people who already support them. knowing the have to start from the ground up, these were the most loyal fans to them already. their journey has just begun.
