Hi!! I love your fanfics of south park and I wanted to ask you about some songs that you think might fit with with style, bunny or another ships! I'm curious what songs you can choose, because I have some in my head.
Also, sorry if my english is not good, cause I'm actually from Spain 😅
Oh gosh what a wonderful question!! For Style, I think of ‘Die for You’ by the weekend of the more Stan side of things. Generally any slow, more calmer love songs are Stan’s tune then anything (like Joji). Kyle’s is generally more upbeat, so anything with a lot of bass or drums would work. Think of rap, r&b, hip-hop!
I would say anything by The neighborhood or the Arctic Monkeys is good at describing Bunny overall but specially leaning towards the Kenny side of it. Butters is anything pop, but really, Butters can link just about any love song to Kenny, trust. But especially Taylor Swift, (ie. Love Story, Lover,) and Red! Red by Taylor swift is definitely a Bunny coded song.

I remember discussing Tintin casting choices with a friend from Germany and remarked how it was odd he often has an English accent in adaptations rather than a Belgian one, and my friend just replied "that's because Tintin gives incredibly strong English boy energy (derogatory)"
Here in the UK there's a lot of weird classism tied into accents. Today accent diversity and representation in broadcasting is actively pursued but in Tintin's time there certainly was a preferred accent to have.
imagine this exchange happens between pages 28-29 in The Crab with the Golden Claws

redditors have the slightest amount of media comprehension challenge (impossible)
the amount of people who still cannot grasp that the Stranger is Gandalf truly baffles me. they have given us every visual and narrative clue possible and nerd ass fanboys are crying in the comments that he’s definitely a Blue Wizard because the actor has not yet turned directly to the camera and said: “I, Daniel Weyman, am playing the character of Gandalf in Amazon’s The Rings of Power.”
“but it doesn’t happen that way in the books!” they sob. No one cares!! it literally does not matter!!! this is the middle earth cinematic universe for god’s sake! it’s middle earth-616! it’s different from the books just like the PJ trilogy were different from the books!! go outside!!!
And then worse than that, they whine and cry about it being a “mystery box” or a “guessing game” - brother it can’t be a mystery box because it’s not a mystery!!!!! they already told you who the character was in the first season!!! they expected you to have the two brain cells needed to figure it out from the obvious narrative clues!!!!
i know it’s my fault for being on reddit in the first place, but i am genuinely going to lose my mind!!!

Here are two of the most hilariously scalding letters from the 1800s that I have ever read. One is by the famous writer Lord Byron, and the other is by his daughter Ada Lovelace, the famous mathematician. Both are written to their respective business partners: Byron to his publisher John Murray, and Lovelace to her colleague Charles Babbage. It’s interesting to note how strikingly similar these letters are despite the fact that Ada and her father never knew each other, as her parents separated shortly after her birth and he died abroad when she was eight. Both were rebellious, fond of gambling, prone to tumultuous affairs, and both hated Lady Byron. These similarities may help to explain why her final wish was to be buried next to him instead of her family.
Lord Byron in a Letter to his publisher John Murray about the printing of his magnum opus, the poem Don Juan:
“Ra. August 31st. 1821.
Dear Sir
I have received the Juans – which are printed so carelessly especially the 5th. Canto – as to be disgraceful to me — & not creditable to you.
It really must be gone over again with the Manuscript – the errors are so gross – words added – changed – so as to make cacophony & nonsense. — You have been careless of this poem because some of your Synod don’t approve of it – but I tell you – it will be long before you see any thing half so good as poetry or writing. — Upon what principle have you omitted the note on Bacon & Voltaire? and one of the concluding stanzas sent as an addition? because it ended I suppose – with –
‘And do not link two virtuous souls for life Into that moral Centaur man & wife?’
Now I must say once for all – that I will not permit any human being to take such liberties with my writings – because I am absent. —
I desire the omissions to be replaced (except the stanza on Semiramis) particularly the stanza upon the Turkish marriages – and I request that the whole be carefully gone over with the M.S.S. –
I never saw such stuff as is printed – Gulleyaz – instead of Gulbeyaz &c. Are you aware that Gulbeyaz is a real name – and the other nonsense? – I copied the Cantos out carefully – so that there is no excuse – as the Printer reads or at least prints the M.S.S. of the plays without error. —
If you have no feeling for your own reputation pray have some little for mine. — I have read over the poem carefully – and I tell you it is poetry – Your little envious knot of parson-poets may say what they please — time will show that I am not in this instance mistaken. — Desire my friend Hobhouse to correct the press especially of the last Canto from the Manuscript – as it is – it is enough to drive one out of one’s senses – to see the infernal torture of words from the original. – For instance the line
‘And pair their rhymes as Venus yokes her doves’
Is printed
‘and praise their rhymes &c. –
also ‘precarious’ for ‘precocious’ – and this line. stanza 133.
‘And this strong extreme effect – to tire no longer’
Now do turn to the Manuscript – & see – if I ever made such a line – it is not verse. —
No wonder the poem should fail – (which however it wont you will see) with such things allowed to creep about it. – – Replace what is omitted – – & correct what is so shamefully misprinted, – and let the poem have fair play – – and I fear nothing. — I see in the last two Numbers of the Quarterly – a strong itching to assail me (see the review of the “Etonian”) let it – and see if they shan’t have enough of it. – – I don’t allude to Gifford – who has always been my friend – & whom I do not consider as responsible for the articles written by others. – But if I do not give Mr. Milman – Mr. Southey – & others of the crew something that shall occupy their dream! I am not what I was – that is all
I have not begun with the Quarterers – but let them look to it. – As for Milman (you well know I have not been unfair to his poetry ever) but I have lately had some information of his critical proceedings in the Quarterly which may bring that on him which he will be sorry for. – I happen to know that of him – Which would annihilate him – when he pretends to preach morality – not that he is immoral – because he isn’t – having in early life been once too much so. – And dares he set up for a preacher? let him go and be priest to Cybele. – why let
You will publish the plays – when ready — I am in such a humour about this printing of D.J. so inaccurately – that I must close this.
yrs. [scrawl]
P.S. I presume that you have not lost the stanza to which I allude? it was sent afterwards look over my letters – & find it. The Notes you can’t have lost – you acknowledged them – they included eight or little corrections of Bacon’s mistakes in the apothegms. – And now I ask once more if such liberties taken in a man’s absence – are fair or praise-worthy? – As for you you have no opinions of your own – & never had – but are blown about by the last thing said to you no matter by whom.”
[Separate page]
“Dear Sir
The enclosed letter is written in bad humour – but not without provocation. -
However – let it (that is the bad humour) go for little – but I must request your serious attention to the abuses of the printer which ought never to have been permitted. – You forget that all the fools in London (the chief purchasers of your publications) will condemn in me the stupidity of your printer. — For instance in the Notes to Canto fifth – ‘the Adriatic shore of the Bosphorus – instead of the Asiatic!! – All this may seem little to you – so fine a gentleman with your ministerial connections – but it is serious to me – who am thousands of miles off & have no opportunity of not proving myself the fool yr. printer makes me – except your pleasure & leisure forsooth.
The Gods prosper you — & forgive you, for I wont.
B.”
Ada Lovelace in a letter to her work partner Charles Babbage, who she helped invent the computer with:
“Tuesday Afternoon [1 August 1843] Ockham
. . . Note B has plagued me to death; altho' I have made but little alteration in it. Such alterations as there are however, happen to have been very tiresome & to have demanded minute consideration & very nice adjustments.
It is a very excellent Note.
I wish you were as accurate, & as much to be relied on, as I am myself. You might often save me much trouble, if you were; whereas you in reality add to my trouble not infrequently; and there is at any rate always the anxiety of doubting if you will not get me into a scrape; even when you don't.
By the way, I hope you do not take upon yourself to alter any of my corrections.
I must beg you not. They all have some very sufficient reason. And you have made a pretty mess & confusion in one or two places (which I will show you sometime), where you have ventured in my M.S's, to insert or alter a phrase or word; & have utterly muddled the sense.
I could not conceive at first in one or two places what had happened to my sentences; tho' I soon saw they were patchwork & not my own; and found it so, on referring to the M.S. I fear you will think this a very cross letter. Never mind. I am a good little thing, after all. Yours ever
A. A. L.
Later. P. S. It is impossible to send you anything but Notes B and C; (& this partly owing to some wrong references & blunderations of your own). — Do not be afraid, for I will work like the Devil early tomorrow morning. —“
[Separate Page]
“Wednesday, 4 o'clock [2 August 1843] Ockham
After working almost incessantly, since 7 o'clock this morning, until I am forced to give in from sheer inability to apply longer, I find only the sheet I enclose is quite completed. I shall however send a servant up tomorrow morning by a ten o' clock train, to take you all the rest; so that you will have it almost as soon as this letter.
You cannot conceive the trouble I have had with the trigonometrical Note E. — In fact no one but me, I really believe, would have doggedly stuck to it, as I have been doing, in all wearing minutiae.
I am very uneasy at not hearing from you, as I have expected to do both yesterday & today; & fear some disaster or other. I hope all of Note G is forthcoming; & I also hope you have received all my communications safely.
I think you had better do the second revise of the translation for me. If you will compare it carefully with my first revise, it can hardly be necessary I think for me to go over it again.
I suppose I ought to take it for granted that no news is good news; but I am in a sad fidget. — Yours ever
A. L.”

You know, for me, one of the issues with being bilingual (and second language is English) is that my English will never be as good as a native speaker's and there will always be this cultural difference to the word use, too. But also since English is everywhere, on the movies, shows, books, products, Internet (even here with so many exchanges). I inevitably use more English words in every day life and I use my own language less.
So... which language is the one I can really use to express myself best in the end? I feel I lack something in both languages

BSD Rarepair Week: day 2, 3 & 6
Tumblr media
💐 // Pining
Lucy wasn't into girls. Or at least she thought so.
It's not like she had time to think about romance before when her life revolved around needing to be useful or else she'd be thrown away like a rag doll that had no value.
Ever since Lucy had started working at the Uzumaki, she would get up early, get ready, do the dishes downstairs and prepare fresh coffee just before opening hour. She could have a share of it too; the owners were very nice to her and she was grateful for that.
Her usual routine had become something so average, so normal, it slowly began giving her time to think about other things instead of obsessing over usefulness. And that's where she comes in.
'I'll have something that helps pick me up', she would usually say. And just as asked, Lucy would bring it to her and go back to her usual chores behind the counter. And then one of those days went differently.
"Hey, waitress. Lucy, was it?"
She looked up from the soapy dishes in her hands to look at the doctor. "Yeah, what do you want?"
"I have some shopping to do today. Want to come with?" she said nonchalantly.
Huh???
"Come with you??? Why?" was all she could blurt out.
"Do you ever do anything else with your time other than working at the cafe? Every woman could use some 'ladies time out' now and then."
Lucy didn't even have time to ask where she was getting at; when she realized, she was already being dragged out the door. Though she protested and flailed her arms in the first moment, she had no choice but to eventually surrender to the doctor's will.
And when she realized again, she was actually having fun.
She had never had friends so she had never done the kind of stuff friends do together like the pointless talks while roaming around doing window shopping, trying out dresses and makeup, stopping at someplace to have tea and snacks.
"No one ever wants to come along," Yosano casually complained. "So thank you for coming with me. It's much less boring with company."
"It's not like I had a choice anyway..." Lucy pouted, making the doctor smile at her.
"But you had fun, didn't you?"
Yosano arched her brows, the shameless smile of someone who knew a little too much plastered on her face when Lucy looked away angrily and flushed.
"Well-"
"If you'd like, we could do this more times. I had fun too," she asked without waiting for Lucy to voice out her fake complaints.
And after that, Lucy started looking forward to it every weekend without even realizing it. She couldn't see the smile that appeared on her face whenever the time came to hang her apron and leave with the doctor in tow, but everyone noticed.
Lucy could try denying it all she wanted but she came to enjoy the company. Her heart beat fast and her face flushed when the doctor complimented her appearance when an outfit looked good on her, for once she'd feel beautiful. And when they exchanged words about their interests, she would feel compelled to want to know more even when the things they liked were so mismatched it was almost like they lived in different worlds.
She wanted to listen and see more. What was the perfume she used? It had a really good fragrance. She had very pretty nails too, she once noticed when they were sharing nail polish tips. And was it too weird if she wondered if the lipstick she wore had a peachy taste like she imagined? Better leave that thought well-kept, it is weird.
And then one night as she was getting ready to go to bed, it hit her.
Wait a minute.
Could she possibly...? be crushing on the doctor???
She wasn't into women, was she? The first time she had ever felt that kind of longing toward someone, it had been that stupid tabby cat but he was so dense he couldn't pick up a hint to save his sorry life, much so she figured it would be easier to just bottle it up and give up on it. Thing is, he was a guy. What was with this new development???
No, that couldn't be. She was just overreacting... right? It was the first time she had gotten direct and constant attention and affection from someone else, a very pretty woman whom she wanted to become friends with at that... So she was just thrown off balance like that because it was something so new she didn't know how to process it.
That must be it.
The next time she saw Yosano after all that self-questioning was the time that put the last nail in the coffin and diagnosed Lucy with terminal gay and she could no longer deny it.
"Mornin', Lucy!" she greeted spiritedly. "Ready to go?"
The simple mention of her name made her heart race so fast it felt like she needed to gulp very hard to send it back to her chest. Lucy glared at the doctor with a bewildered look while her face went through all the shades from pink to red one could find in a paint catalog before rushing out the door.
"SORRY! SOMETHING CAME UP TODAY!!!"
Yosano stared at the cafe's door flipping on its hinges, confused.
Tumblr media
🌹 // Lucy
Okay, I thought to myself.
You can't keep avoiding her forever, it's been weeks. Just keep it together and act normally. If I end up losing her because of this streak of screw-ups, I'll be very upset with myself. If possible, I wanted to keep being friends at the very least.
Yeah. I did it once, I can do it again.
The bell on the cafe's door rings once it's flung open and my heart skips a beat as soon as I see her. Our eyes meet and I feel myself steering back and before she approaches the counter, I flee into the kitchen's backroom.
I can't do it at all!
Grunting in frustration, I force my brain. Think, Lucy, think. You have to do something, you can't keep just running away forever.
My eyes notice the notepad we use to account for inventory and an idea comes to me: if I get too nervous to even say anything, I could write down a note and give it to her.
I pat onto my apron's pockets in search of the pen I keep there, and once it's found, I begin writing. I'm not sure any of this sounds impressive or fancy, it kinda feels more like a diary page of a girl going off about her school's crush if anything but it'll have to do. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?
Leaving the backroom, I return to an empty cafe save for the master working on his coffee as usual. He notices me and the frown on my face, asking if everything's alright.
"I'm fine, don't worry. Where did she go? The doctor."
"Oh, she just left. Said she had come for you but since it looked like you were busy, she went on her way."
There was still time to catch up; good thing the agency was literally next door.
"Thanks! I'll, uh... Just excuse me for a moment, okay? I'll be back soon!"
Before I could even reach the staircase, I felt something latch onto my wrist and tug at me to pull me into a corner. My face immediately flushed when I noticed who was in front of me.
"I figured you'd come looking for me soon enough," Yosano said. She looked into my eyes, a serious look on her face.
I swallowed and tried to still my nerves. "Y-yeah. Yeah, I was looking for you."
"You've been avoiding me, haven't you? I noticed."
Man, detectives are scary. But being subtle wasn't my forte so even a moron would be able to tell anyway.
"Is something wrong?" she asked, now looking concerned. "Did I force my whims on you too much? I know I may come off as forceful sometimes, so if that's the case-"
"No... That's... not it," I feebly mumbled, unable to keep eye contact.
"What's up then? Is everything alright with you?"
"Yeah... I mean, uh..."
Maybe not? Maybe yes, I don't know anymore. This feels too different and I've never felt my heart beat this fast.
"There's something I gotta tell you. Something personal, so..."
"Yes? I'm listening."
"I, uh..."
"Don't worry, no one will hear you down here. The office's door upstairs is pretty thick."
I inhale deeply. This would be the best moment to hand her the hurried note I wrote but I completely forget about the damn thing until it's too late.
"I think... I like you. Would you... Would you go out with me?" I mumble nearly incoherently.
Yosano's brows knit together. "What? Sorry, I couldn't quite catch what you just said-"
I explode before I lose all my courage. "WOULD YOU GO OUT WITH ME ON A DATE???"
Tumblr media
🪻 // Yosano
I blinked.
"I think I have a crush on you!" Lucy blurts, face as red as a tomato. "That's why I've been avoiding you! I'msorry!"
"Oh my," is all I muster to say at first. She continues, talking so fast her accent starts making words hard to understand.
"Lucy," I call.
"AndwhenIrealizedIwassodownbadandI'venevergonethroughthissoIhaven'tthefaintestideaofwhattodo-"
"Lucy!" I call louder while I bring my hands to her shoulders and gently shake her. "Calm down. It's okay. I'm glad you finally told me."
The maiden looks completely puzzled for a second. "Y-you knew?!"
"Girl, I'm a detective," I smiled, letting go of her. I could tell she could use some personal space to still her nerves. "And a woman. We're keen observers."
"Y-you could've told me earlier! Gosh, I feel so stupid now!"
"Sorry, I just didn't want to intrude. Sometimes we need time to process our feelings, it's something that only us can do."
"You sound oddly okay with it..." Lucy points out, suspicious. Her face suddenly lights up, "D-does that mean...?!"
"Oh, dear," I said with an apologetic tone. "It's unfortunate, but I can't reciprocate your feelings. I'm sorry."
Lucy deflated like a popped balloon as a heavy sigh left her but recovered very fast. "Well, at least now I know. Should have figured you weren't into girls... That'd be too good to be true."
I blinked at her again. "I never said that."
"Huh???" she sounded truly puzzled.
"I swing both ways, cutie pie," I explained with a sly smirk. "But even if I didn't, I wouldn't treat you any differently because of it. It's completely okay."
"Wait, so..." Lucy frowned as if creasing her forehead would give her brain an additional help to make 2+2. Realization then hit her. "Oh! Ooooh."
"Yeah, I'm already... You know," I chuckle.
"I'd never be able to tell."
"You never asked! We're pretty reserved about it for reasons," I shrug, doing my best not to laugh at the irony that it had been specifically Lucy to crush on me. Apparently, I'm a redhead magnet. "Regardless, it's still a big flattery to be someone's gay awakening," I winked playfully at her. Lucy's face flared up in red again.
"You can tell even that?!"
"Been there, done that," a wry smile escapes me. "So, how do you feel right now?"
"Much lighter, actually," the maiden sighed in relief. "At least now I know, just need some time to let it go. I, um... Would like to keep things as they are between us though. If that's okay with you...?"
She still sounded a little unsure of herself, so I made sure to smile as sweetly as I could at her. "Yes, of course! I wouldn't mind that at all."
"Okay... Okay, cool," the way she repeated it sounded like she was still trying to convince herself, so I took the wheel instead.
"Would you mind if I hugged you? It helps ease the nerves and you Westerners are much more open to this kind of thing between friends."
"Woah, hold up there, that's maybe a little too soon," Lucy complains, hands on her hips. "I've just been rejected by you, I need time to process that, you know!"
I couldn't help but laugh. "Fair enough."
"Actually," she quickly backtracks. "You know what? Forget that, I will accept that hug."
I carefully pull her into my arms, taking care not to smother her but still feel warm and comforting enough to do its intended job. "You're an amazing and beautiful woman, Lucy. You'll find the right person for you one day," I say, gently patting her shoulder. "And I'll be there to give you dating tips, of course!"
Much to my surprise and relief, she's smiling when we pull apart. "Thanks," she says, wiping a tear from the corner of her eye before it dared to drop. "I'll remember that."
"So, now that this has been settled, what are your plans for tomorrow? It's been a while we don't do shopping together but it's perfectly alright if you don't want to come along."
"You bet I do! I've missed doing it."
With a lighter heart, I smile at her. "Then same time as usual. And make sure to wear comfortable shoes, we have a lot of catching up to do!"

You've been posting a lot about code lyoko recently (I think that's what it's called) and it kind of unlocked core memories for me. But I only have vague memory of it (I think I was pretty young when it aired on tv). Do you mind explaining the premise of the show and what happens again? I remember being a little obsessed with it and it bothers me that I don't remember anymore.
Glad I've accomplished my one mission in life of unlocking someone's core memories😎Nah fr, it's nice to come across someone else who's aware of a series as niche (and pretty old, God) as this one, especially in this day and age.
So, to make a long story short, Code Lyoko is a French animated series centered on group of middle schoolers fighting a computer virus. Riveting, ain't it-
Jeremie Belpois, a computer and science nerd who stumbled upon a super computer hidden in an abandoned factory on the outskirts of his dorm school, turns the computer on out of curiosity. On it, he discovers a virtual world called Lyoko housing not only a slew of creatures, but a girl named Aelita. Through a series of unfortunate events, Jeremie eventually involves three unlikely classmates of his: Ulrich, Odd, and Yumi, and they unanimously make it their mission to someday bring Aelita out of the super computer, all while keeping the situation a secret from anyone else. To thwart their plans, a virus named XANA, which also came to life when Jeremie turned the super computer on, seeks to bring harm to them and their world, and the only way to combat it is by traveling to Lyoko.
Obviously there's more to the story than that, but that's the gist lol.
The series' largest selling point was it's clever mix of 2D and 3D animation, used as a way to differentiate between the real world of France and the virtual world of Lyoko. It's unique animation, art style, and storytelling when compared to any other French animated series that came out around the same time, made it stand out enough to end up on Cartoon Network.
There are some elements that don't hold up quite well now, and some that didn't hold up at all in '03, but there's clearly something to it that makes it worth watching.

Alright, so I think I have a plan now for what the Inklings Sprints Brainstorming week will sort of look like. As always there might be changes later once we’re closer to the actual dates, but as it is now, over the last week and maybe a half of September I’ll host the brainstorming week. Which will mostly consist of me posting questions/thoughts/prompts over the week which will mostly be set throughout the day. Then I’ll have a few set times throughout the week/week and a half for a more active brainstorming session for anyone who wants to actively throw some ideas more or less. (Discord people feel free to copy any ideas to share to the discord if you’re interested in them.)
Below is a calendar and a very quick view of some time zones in relation to me (which is highlighted in blue). I know that I’m missing time zones and so I would always double check to make sure that the timing makes sense to you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just a reminder that the big brainstorming week push is going to start on Monday.
Liveblogging sessions on Sunday Sept. 22 at 8am, Tuesday Sept. 24 at 6:30pm, Thursday Sept. 26 at 8pm, Saturday Sept. 28 at 7am and maybe one at 5:30pm, Sunday Sept. 29 at 8am, maybe 11am, and maybe 10pm, Monday Sept. 30 at 8am, and maybe 8pm.
Those times I will be sharing my actual planning thoughts in a desperate attempt to have something beyond vibes for Team Chesterton and Team Lewis.
Throughout the rest of the week I will share other thoughts and prompts to try and spark some brainstorming ideas.

someone commented on an old post of mine that sonia wasnt fridged bc shes relevant to the plot and i have been thinking about it for an hour bc i dont think thats an actual get out of jail card for that .... also ... what does she do? be raurus way to cement himself as da king? give some half assed advice to zelda, that has no pay off unless you count zelda time reversing a bunch of weapons*, and then immediately dies just so zelda can essentially replace her and make rauru regret he didnt stab ganondorf right when he showed up in their temple i guess ?? (which is questionable on its own imo)
(*its not a good pay off for powers she was suddendly revealed to always have had(tm) and also is only ever used to .... welll, get zelda out of the way back in time, reverse a few weapons and .. idk create a ham fisted way to give the player her gimmick?)
even if she doesnt technically meet the requirements(lol?) to be called fridged like .. she is spiritually at least for how irrelevant and cheapely killed off she was
