disclaimer that I don't like the idea of openly assuming things about strangers' identities or their personal lives, especially when you're catching a glimpse of only one part of them they choose to share in the public eye. but it Is very funny when you're reading or watching some interview with a famous person, and they say things that make you do this one comic:

IDK how they're going to salvage casting Laverne Cox as the mastermind behind a sinister government conspiracy to brainwash your children into having mutilating surgery but I am wondering what the trans experience is like in the Uglies universe. Gender confirmation surgery should be pretty simple given their technology, and pretties get costume surge all the time. Can uglies request gender reassignment as part of their pretty surgery? Or, given that iirc it's mentioned the surgeons ignore most requests anyway, would the surgeons just give them brain damage to make them forget they're trans? I feel like the former, tbh, as one more incentive to keep people desperate for the surgery. Trans positive nightmare surgical brainwashing dystopia. You can get temporary top surgery for a costume party.

Throwback to when they blocked Lucas in the middle of the lingerie store scene and the men in the sauna scene so that being the most scared and quickest to run away was something Mike and Will were in together and being grossed out by the men was something Lucas was in alone 💀 I just remembered that part of the masterdoc/slides

this isn't gonna win me any friends but I won't pay a dime to see movies made by/starring people who signed the petition to free convicted child rapist roman polanski, and that includes guillermo del toro and wes anderson. you can love their movies all you want but paying to see them puts money in the pocket of people who publicly support rapists going free. 🤷🏾♀️

also the idea that if you comment you HAVE to say something nice, especially if you criticize it. I do that because I generally am polite, and honestly I rarely criticize in comments (that's for the lb), but I think it's a kind of a stupid demand depending on the kind of shit you're writing. ppl take fanfic so soooo seriously (fanfic culture, fanfic 'etiquette') until it's time to hear something that's 'I don't like it' or 'this is bad and harmful' and suddenly it's JUST a silly little hobby that's never subjected to criticism. you are a worm
