Imagine being pregnant with klaus kid and be having pregnancy hormones.
This is my first time writing something were, so it’s probably not very good, but everything takes time right !!
I hope you like it 🫶🏻
I just woke up feeling the other side of the bed cold, rapidly noticing that klaus was not by my side. I ignored the fact and got up and went to the bathroom to take a shower.
I just made 3 months of pregnancy and I was full of mood swings and it was literally annoying me. I couldn’t take this, one minute I was happily laughing with klaus and the next minute I was screaming at him that I was tired of him.
I got out of the shower, prepared myself and went down there. I needed to eat urgently!
Getting to the kitchen, Rebekah was standing there with a blood bag in her hands talking with Elijah meanwhile Davina and Hayley were in the couch watching Netflix. I prepare myself a good breakfast.
“Do you know where Nik is?” I ask Rebekah
“I think he went out with Kol, but I don’t know where” she said. I whisper a mhm and went sitting in the couch.
“What are you guys watching?” I said putting my orange juice and my plate in the table in front of me
“Lucifer” Davina responded
After 3 episodes, I had already eat everything but was still no sign of klaus. I was really getting mad and sad at the same time. I decided to go upstairs to my bedroom and watch a movie by myself.
1 hour .
1 bloody hour has passed and still no sign of klaus. I’m mad but mostly worried.
It’s 1 pm and lunch is being prepared, when klaus suddenly walks into the room.
“Where were you?” I shouted at him
“I’m sorry” he says, and then I realize he was full of blood in his Henley.
“Ah, that’s why you disappeared all this hours. Couldn’t you just leave a note or something?? Huh? I was worried with you for crying out loud” I say
“I went out with Kol to help him to chose a ring for Davina when we were attacked” he said calmly
“You were atta-“ I started but he rapidly respondes
“It wasn’t a big deal, it was some vampires, nothing to you to worry about.” He assured me, and when I went to talk I started crying
“Why are you crying?” He worries, and I really don’t know the answer
“I don’t know.” I say “It must be the bloody hormones, now I’m always like this, and I can’t make it stop.”
And when I thought he was going to hug me. No. The idiot started laughing.
“Ah, you think it’s funny huh??” I say
“No love, not at all” he said, although he continued laughing.
“Your an idiot” I said and he kissed me
“And your so cute when your mad” he smiled trying to kiss me again, but this time I refused the kiss
“You don’t deserve my kisses” I said
“Ah love, you’re playing with fire” he whispered
“Come to lunch” We head Rebekah scream from the living room
“I very much like the harm” I said, walking to the door, seeing klaus following me
“Oh, you can’t go like that, you’re full of blood” I told him and immediately switched his shirt and we both went to lunch.
“We are going to watch a romance movie after lunch “ I said while we walked down the stairs
“No. I refuse.” He said
“You owe me, after disappear for hours and not telling anything” I said back
I hear a sigh coming from him and I already knew I won. This is gonna be an amazing afternoon.

do you recommend watching The Originals?
Nonnie, you're out with the tough questions 😂
I've been here thinking about this for a few minutes. The answer is... depends? lol I know some people who really like The Originals, so it's hard to say that you should or shouldn't watch it. It really depends on what kind of thing you're looking for and where do you draw a line.
Personally, I have a lot of issues with TO lol And back when it was still airing and I was watching it as the episodes came out, I abandoned it halfway through S3 because I got to a point where the very far and few good parts were no longer making it worth my while. A lot of people think S3 is the best season, I think it's by far the worst one lol So you see how it really depends.
But I do like it that I watched it in end, even though it took me a few years. It gives me authority that I know exactly what I'm talking about when I shit talk it lol also whenever people who can't stand the show have a canon-related question, they come to me because I watched it some 200 times so other people don't have to suffer through it, and I think that's beautiful 😂😂
Here's a simple pros vs cons list *in my opinion*: Pros: it's more Mikaelson screen time, so there's that. That are some plot lines that had potential, although almost none of them are well executed. Seasons 1 and 2 are actually kind of ok. S3 and 4 Klaus hair is 🤌🤌🤌 The WILD CURLS ERA! I'm a simple girl, you give me Klaus in tight Henley shirts with curly curls, I'm in. There are some great family moments scattered throughout the seasons, some really cool scenes that make you think 'wow, this could've been a great show' (right before you get pissed off that it wasn't). Daniel Sharman's Kol is, IMHO, the superior Kol (I don't like Nate Buzz's acting). Jomo really delivers as Klaus regardless the whole bullshittery around him and gets some great chances to just be a little shit, which I love. There are some great Klaroline moments (and not just in S5). And in spite of my overall feelings for TO, one of my favorite all-time TVDverse characters is from there: Vincent Griffith. I love him to bits. I also really like Marcel, even though he becomes a glorified extra after S1, and Jackson. Also, if you're really into werewolves, this is really the show where they get any screen time. I'm not saying it's good, but at least it's there (and no, Klaus never turns into a wolf, it makes no sense).
Cons: Really bad, inconsistent writing. Some seasons have storylines that just die out of nowhere for no reason (*cough*season 3*cough*). The whole premise of the show is insane (there was absolutely no need for Hope when Marcel is right there). The crossovers with TVD are very poorly done and very glaring opportunities go unexplored (like at the end of S1). Rebekah drops out pretty soon into the show. Elijah changes personality at least once every season to the point where, by the end of the show, they just retcon him completely. The finale is RIDICULOUS. Season 4 was written by someone on a wild acid trip, season 5 is really not worth your time AT ALL (except for the Klaroline moments). Female characters are very badly treated (pretty standard in the TVDverse, but anyway). Klamille is a thing, although, as with everything else, it's so badly done it's only marginally there. There are a lot of retcons and rewritings of the show's own mythology, which is annoying. And it's just... Bad. I don't know what to say, it just never lived up to the hype of what a show about the Original family could've been or what TVD had been at its peak. It's never, ever even remotely as good as TVD was around S2-3, not even at its best moments.
Those are my personal opinions, anyway. I'm sure others might feel different, but each to their own. It's really about you considering whether or not that's something you might enjoy or if it will at least be worth your time. Maybe start it and see how you feel? Worst case scenario, at least you get to see more of Klaus prancing around New Orleans.
Also, the first episode of TO is different from the backdoor pilot in TVD. That's more of a Klaus POV one, while the one in TO is more an Elijah POV.
hope my TED Talk helps you! 😂

(Not my gif)
(Eventual) Elijah Mikaelson x Reader
When Kol tells you of a conversation he overheard you go to confront Elijah.
Never once in your life had you ever been accused of being the smartest person on the block. You were hot headed, impulsive and stubborn. You acted before you thought half of the time and this was one of those moments you could practically hear every person you knew groaning about your temper as you stormed into the doors of the Mikaelson compound.
Klaus was the first to the door, no doubt having been closest and expected a threat from the fact that you didn't knock and the door had slammed against the wall when you walked in. “Hello Love. To what do we owe the pleasure”
You stopped a few feet from him and crossed your arms over your chest. “Is what Kol said true?” A smirk slipped onto his face “You'll have to excuse my confusion. Kol says a lot of things” you waved a hand around “That Elijah frickin tracked me down on a hunt! To what end? He watched me take on two okami, didn't help and just left me there without another word!”
You weren't sure how to react when Klaus honest to god laughed. When you looked at him like he'd grown a second head he shrugged one shoulder, his face sobering a bit. He spoke your name almost proudly, you raised an eyebrow and he was the one to motion around the room “You come storming in here, alone and angry enough to not make anyone aware of your presence beforehand which is dangerous enough then you don't blink an eye demanding answers of me. I can see why my brother fancies you”
“Cut the shit Klaus. You know I care about Rebekah. She's my friend, vampire or not she is, but I'm not a fucking pet for you Mikaelsons. I'm not something to amuse any of you. I need to know what Elijah's game is. Why follow me? Why not even tell me he was there? Why does he insist on barely speaking to me as if my mere presence is overwhelming despite the fact that he sought me out to go to the ball, despite the fact that he always manages to know wherever I am in this God forsaken city I moved to”
Klaus took a step towards you and when you didn't give any ground he smiled “I can't speak for him. He should be here any time and I will gladly stay for the spectacle of you confronting him but know I myself don't see you as a pet, amusing yes but simply because of that rage you carry. You would make a marvelous vampire” he smiled widely letting his fangs slip out just a bit “and an even better hybrid”
You shook your head “put the fangs away Klaus. I wouldn't let you near my neck under the best of circumstances” he grinned “Now that is a shame indeed” You shook your head despite the anger you'd been feeling moments before and wondered briefly if Klaus had found a way around your tattoo or maybe you'd just needed to get things off your chest and the temper mental hybrid had just been the one who got the blunt of it.
—---------
You heard footsteps and knew it was Elijah even before he walked cautiously through the still open door. He greeted you then Klaus before looking between the two of you “Did I interrupt something?”
Klaus held your gaze almost as if in a challenge. Damn him he was enjoying this, little brothers always loved having a leg up on their older brothers you guessed regardless of age or species.
You fully turned to face Elijah and froze. Since the moment you met him Elijah wore suits. Well tailored suits that would make your knees weak but damn him the man was now wearing a dark gray henley under a fitted jacket and black jeans. The slight smirk that slipped onto his face at your attention only made things worse.
You were supposed to be angry, a bit betrayed even but every thought slipped out of your mind. Those brown eyes held you in place and for a moment you had trouble remembering what had brought you to the Mikaelson home to begin with until Klaus slung an arm around your shoulders “We would like to know why you tracked her down on a hunt!”
The smirk quickly slipped from Elijah's face “I told Rebekah Kol was eavesdropping” your eyes widened at his words “REBEKAH KNEW?”
Klaus still had his arm over your shoulders and you could hear him tsk tsk “Brother, keeping secrets from her and from me I see” a flash of anger went through Elijah's eyes “Niklaus, can you allow us a few moments alone to speak?”
“If she asks me to” you turned your head just enough to look at Klaus “Please” he nodded “Very well love. Just holler if I'm needed”
—---------
You watched Klaus walk out of the room and then turned back to Elijah “Care to explain? Because right now? I want to know why you tracked me down, watched me take on two okami solo mind you then didn't even tell me you were there?”
You did your best to push down the attraction you felt for Elijah and instead to pull up that anger you'd thrown at Klaus. “Perhaps I wanted to ensure you weren't dead” you crossed your arms “Bullshit. I was only gone for a few days. Tell me the truth Elijah”
He walked towards you and for a moment you considered backing up but a big part of you refused to humor that thought. You wouldn't give ground to Klaus or Elijah. Yeah they could very well kill you and now with the initial humiliation driven anger fading the reality of this being the first time you'd been to the Mikaelson compound alone and the first time you'd been alone around Elijah drove home.
“I was unsure if you could handle what your job entails. Yes I did not intervene because as Rebekah has said that is your life and your decision to be a hunter. I just had to see for myself if you could truly handle being intertwined with this family” What happened to Klaus saying Elijah fancied you? Was that Klaus lying or was this Elijah lying? You nodded slowly “So it was what? To ensure I wasn't a safety threat to the Mikaelsons? Little human me?”
You could see the mask fall back into place. Every time you got close to figuring Elijah out that mask would fall. You'd heard stories from Rebekah of their mother's wrong doings and a certain red door. You should be afraid of him yet you weren't. He gave a small nod so you smiled humorlessly “Good to know”
—--------
You decided at that moment if he wanted to pull a mask down so could you. You had years worth of practice hiding your emotions under layers of sass and vague threats. You may not have the years he did but you had always been quick to think on your toes so you plastered the closest thing to a real smile you could muster before saying “And you also now know I can hold my own against supernatural beings so even better”
He chuckled lightly “That I do. I must admit I was impressed” you bowed your head mockingly “Here's hoping I never have to go toe to toe with you however if you're ever up for sparring it may be fun” a grin spread across his face but before he could say anything else your phone started ringing. You dug it out of your jacket pocket and saw Alicia's name “I've got to take this. Tell Klaus I said bye and tell Bek I'll see her later”
Tumblr media
The next few weeks passed with a repertoire forming between you and Elijah. Light flirting, lots of sarcasm and some veiled threats abounded. It worked because it made your attraction to him less awkward and took away a source of amusement for Klaus.
You had found balance in your life. Between hunting and your friends in that world and being close with the Mikaelsons. It worked so why question it?

hi can you write a one-shot for yandere klaus mikaelson, where klaus has kidnapped y/n and has her living with his brothers, and they don't do anything to free her because they know not to mess with klaus, and elijah starts to develop a soft spot for y /n and falls in love with her, and it hurts that klaus has her against his will, so he starts to devise plans to free her, but klaus finds out and attacks him with the dagger, and months later elijah is freed (maybe by rebekah) and the first thing she wants to do is release y/n but it's too late because she finds her fucking klaus and she's in love with him, and now she doesn't want to leave.

The girl he loved with his younger brother
Elijah often excused Niklaus’ behaviour.
He almost justified everything he did no matter how awful his actions became.
And he really tried to steer clear of his brothers new obsession.
Even when she was forced into their house and constantly in tears cowering in the corner as Klaus screamed for her to ‘just stop crying’.
He watched her tremble when he would pick her up and sit with her on his lap, he could hear her heart race a thousand times per minute and despite his brother being so delusional he believed that it was because she loved him, Elijah knew it was such intense fear.
He had tried to speak to her.
When she was sat in the kitchen, being a ‘good girl’ and waiting quietly for Klaus to come back from his shower.
Elijah had apprehensively approached her, sitting across from her but unable to catch her eye as she looked down at the table. She was dressed in Klaus’ henley and joggers despite them being too big for her.
“Y/n?” He called softly to gain her attention. She quickly looked up and him and sat straighter, assuming it would be Klaus who was addressing her. She blinked in surprise when she saw him and his kind smile. “Hello” he began as she seemed to be entirely focused on him. She hadn’t ever been very close to any of the siblings even though she now lived with them, they knew not to actually acknowledge her.
She glanced nervously to the stairs where she could hear the shower still running before back to Elijah with a look of question.
“He’s not going to hurt you” he told her, his hand moving across the kitchen isle to touch hers. “This has only happened once or twice before, he will only ever harm you if you truly betray his trust”
She wasn’t sure what was meant by that. Elijah often made it that way when he spoke, never giving straight answers and yet drawing more attention from her as she looked him over.
“It’s best to try and love him, I know it’s a little difficult but he would hand you his heart on a plater if you asked him to. All he wants is a piece of yours in return.”
She opened her mouth to speak but heard a throat clear. She turned to see Klaus with a brow raised as he glanced to where his elder brothers hand rest upon his loves.
Y/n was quick to move hers away and get off of the stool and walking over to him, welcoming his embrace cautiously.
She didn’t see the darkening look he had on his face as he looked over at Elijah, the way his eyes burned gold as he kissed the top of her head.
Elijah was careful in walking out of the room, making sure his brother hadn’t followed.
Elijah watched for weeks as she tried her best to adjust to her situation but the broken look on her face always came back once Klaus left the room.
One minute she had her beautiful smile painted on and her face in Klaus’ chest as he rubbed her thigh and they watched a film, and the next she was staring aimlessly at the front door which was spelled a hundred times over so she may never leave.
So he spoke to her little by little, more and more.
He began to get to know her.
He began to make her smile, to get a laugh out of her and himself too.
He began to see what his brother saw.
But that was the issue. Niklaus.
Klaus knew Elijah liked her. He listened to their conversations and watched from afar.
He made to be a kind as he possibly could to his y/n, got her anything she wanted so she would smile for him.
And after a while her heart sped up for reasons other for fear.
She blushed and giggled, she would lean on him and approach him for some physical affection.
But it didn’t stop Elijahs feeling from progressing.
And when Niklaus overheard Elijah making deals with witches to lift the spells on the house, he knew he needed to get rid of him.
He wasn’t expecting for y/n to sob her heart out as she walked in on Klaus holding a dagger through Elijahs chest.
“No! No no no” she sobbed, her body caving to the ground as she pulled Elijah to her, holding his cold grey body.
Klaus was angry of course but he made sure to be gentle.
“Sh my love, come here” he cooed, his hands pulling her to into his arms and comforting her
“Why?” She whispered with a crack of her voice
“He was going to kill you” he lied.
“What?”
“He thought you would be better off dead than with me. He was going to kill you”
Y/n’s heart broke and she clung to Klaus for days. She knew Elijah had been worried but surely death would be worse than this? Klaus had never hurt her, he was soft and loving.
Especially now he was completely all she had.
He was the only person to make her smile, to hold her hand and whisper encouragement to her.
It took months but eventually she had fallen for him. She didn’t fear his every move.
She seeked comfort in him, love in him. And piece by piece he founded her heart.
If only Elijah knew this when he was dragging his exhausted body up the stairs. The lack of blood making his mind too hazy to hear the moans that leaked from his brothers bedroom.
He didn’t comprehend the door being locked, instead just forced it open only to stop in his tracks. His heart aching to have the dagger back inside it as he saw his younger brother ontop of the girl he loved.
Klaus’ head whipped up from where it was in her neck to the door. An animalistic sound leaving his throat as he used his body to shield hers from view.
Y/n was far too gone in her pleasure to register the door being open, she only moaned his name louder as their position seemed to change.
Elijah left in a flash. His soul felt heavy and his humanity lessened.

Klaroline WIP Wed - freaky friday time travel fic
my prompt was the future Caroline Mikaelson and Caroline Forbes swap places and I was like, okay, I am going to shoehorn an entire plot in here after prom but before graduation. author is loading canon and firing it into the sun
-------------------------------
The package was sitting innocently enough on the porch swing when Caroline got home from school. After a weird day of fielding concerned questions from her peers about Elena’s whereabouts–Stefan and Damon locking her in the Boarding House all weekend after prom was a last-ditch effort that looked like it wasn’t working–Caroline wasn’t really in the mood for a surprise.
When a cautious sniff towards the box brought her the acrid smell of oil paint and turpentine, though, she had to bite down on her smile. The smell liked to cling to Klaus after he’d been painting all morning, as she’d discovered two days ago, the morning after prom. She’d been crossing the Square, coming from the Sheriff’s department toward the Mystic Grill to meet Matt for lunch and flashcards, when her name being called pulled her head back to the here and now.
“Caroline!” Klaus’ smile was delighted to see her as he crossed the street to meet her on the grass, dimples brighter on his face than the sunshine, and god wasn’t that cheesy and ironic, just like her agreement to be friends with the nightmare creature that had plagued their lives for months. Even stranger, that she actually wanted to. Okay, maybe he hadn't been plaguing their lives very hard recently. What with the others unleashing Evil Dead and Elena taking home all the queen bitch prizes previously scooped up by Katherine, Klaus had almost seemed like your friendly neighborhood serial killer in comparison.
She waited until he caught up, swinging a large brown paper bag by string handles. “A word of advice?” she offered. He raised his eyebrows in intrigued curiosity. “Don’t go loudly chatting up the Sheriff's teenage daughter in the middle of town when you look like… that,” She gestured at all of him, including his loose-necked henley and comfortable jeans liberally smeared with paint, “Unless you want to get called a dirty old man behind your back.”
The laugh was practically startled out of him. He looked like an artist grad student at most, the kind that would debauch you on the furniture props, but judging by the slightly judgy looks from a few faces she could see around the square, that was too old for just barely eighteen Caroline. Oh yeah, Liz would be hearing about this before the day was out, and wasn't that just what Caroline needed?
Klaus leaned forward slightly, for all the world looked like he was sharing confidences with her. "Do you find me old, sweetheart?" he asked, dimples on display.
"Ancient, decrepit," she deadpanned.
His voice dropped a little softer, and unconsciously this time she leaned in a little to hear him. “You know our kind don’t measure time in years, sweetheart, it’s more about experiences.”
With a scoff and an eye roll, she leaned back. “Oh my god, you did not just ‘Age is just a number’ me. It’s jail for you, sir.”
“Mmm, they haven’t built a prison that can hold me yet, but if you prefer that sort of role-play, I'm sure I could think of something,” he said cheekily.
“Wow, okay!” She laughed, trying not to think of ‘Klaus’ and role-play’ in the same context, “You are feeling much better than the last time I saw you.”
He seemed to sober, tension pinching his soft mouth. “Silas hasn’t shown himself that I’m aware of. Elijah is refusing to hand over the cure to either Rebekah or myself. Her on the grounds that she failed her trial, and me…” Klaus glanced away.
Caroline tried to dredge up some sympathy, really she did. “Well, we are all very much hoping there will not be an apocalypse hell-on-earth. I never met your parents and I would like to keep that track record going, thanks.” Klaus ducked his head, laugh soft, and Caroline nearly preened. “So, what’s in the bag? Thumb screws? Arsenic? Stolen lollipops?”
“Your imagination is a never-ending delight, love. There’s an art supply shop down the street that orders my paints for me. Which is fortunate, I was getting low on Cadmium Orange.” His fingers fiddled with the bag string.
“That is a very specific color,” she teased gently.
He tilted his head to the side in a self-deprecating sort of way. “Well, I need it for a very specific bit of shading, you see. The fall,” he gestured vaguely with one hand at some unseen painting, “Isn’t quite right. I’ve been working on it all night.”
Wrinkling her nose at him, she adjusted her purse on her shoulder. “Is that why you have that ‘freshly bathed in linseed oil’ smell?” Knowing she was about to set the tongues wagging but unable to resist the look it would put on his face, she reached out and snagged his hand, flipped it over backside up. Bright yellow paint was smeared on his skin. “You missed a spot.” she pointed out helpfully.
He rumbled softly in his throat. “So I did.” When Caroline looked up, his hungry blue eyes were on her, quiet, watchful of what she’d do next.
“So,” she said, drawing out the vowel, “I’m supposed to meet Matt for lunch.”
“The human?” Klaus managed to fit a world of disgruntled judgment into two words.
“Ugh.” Caroline dropped his hand with a bit of force. “Matt is failing some of his classes and needs a study buddy. I happen to be queen of the flashcards, thank you very much. Finals are next week, and I just want…” She paused, emotion clawing up her throat and she swallowed. Blinked. The sun that seemed so bright before–but not warm, never warm, never again–seemed a pale imitation of itself. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Klaus’s hand hovering next to her arm as if wondering if his touch was unwelcome.
This wasn’t helpful, this wasn’t what she needed, in the middle of the day, in the middle of the Square, for god’s sake. Her chin raised, she looked Klaus in the eye. He looked solemnly back. “I just want us to make it through graduation. All of us. So.” She pasted a smile on her face. “I do what I can, which means flashcards.”
Something bitter tilted his mouth. “The talents of a general and they have you tutoring the quarterback.”
Caroline scowled at him. “It’s not a waste of my time to care about my friends. You certainly benefited from that.” With a huff, she turned to go, and he stepped sideways into her path.
“Admitting you care, love?” There was something predatory about the glint in his eyes.
Raising her eyebrows loftily, she pushed past him, trying to ignore the heat from his body that seemed to cling to hers. “In your dreams, Klaus,” she shot over her shoulder as she headed toward the Mystic Grill.
While her vampire hearing might have been bogged down by the noise in the Square, she was annoyingly attuned to Klaus’ presence. His parting words reached her easily: “Someday, you will.”

To Decadent Poets - Chapter 3
Tumblr media
Summary - find more chapters, read the synopsis, and trigger warnings here!
“Inside the night that covers me Black as the pit, from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul.” — William E. Henley, Invictus
Christian didn’t want to talk but it seemed no one in this house knew how to understand the concepts of privacy and personal space. Maybe that was the reason why his father was almost knocking the door of his room down, demanding he open it, his voice grave and powerful.
And he would. Sometime after getting out of the shower and dressing up.
But he knew his mom would end up having to endure it if he didn’t open it soon, so Chris hurried up to change and opened up the damn door, facing Maxwell with stony eyes.
“What do you want?” he asked, hissing in anger while his father stared at him with a furious expression, the deep brown eyes they shared shining bright with his bad humor. Chris couldn’t care less about all of his drama.
“Why are you not having dinner?” asked Maxwell, clenching his teeth and Chris looked at him, incredulous.
“Oh... because I’m not hungry?” he asked in a sarcastic tone that made his father frown deeply, wrinkles appearing all across his forehead. It made him look old.
“You’re leaving tomorrow and you won’t even have dinner with your family?”
The question was loaded with accusations and it made Christian feel rage downing in his veins like lava flowing from a volcano. He passed through the door’s threshold, closing the door behind him to stand on the dark corridor of his house as Maxwell watched him.
“I already spent the day with my family,” Christian said, using the same tone Maxwell had, wishing more than ever that he could hurt him, wishing his father cared as much as Christ tried not to. “Mom and Nana had me the whole day, I don’t need to worry about me being an insensitive prat like you are.”
“Be careful of how you speak to me,” Maxwell stuck his finger in Chris’ face with a severe expression that would never intimidate him. “I’m your father”
Those words made everything inside Christian freeze. He looked Maxwell in the eyes, feeling nothing more than cold and ice cascading down his veins like a snowstorm. He had no will to get angry at that because as Much as it was true, it didn’t matter. It didn’t matter at all.
“A father is one of the things you never were to me,” was all Chris said before leaving, going downstairs silently, not wanting to be noticed by anyone.
Miraculously, Maxwell didn’t follow him to continue their argument, and at least that made Chris relax as he walked slowly to the living room, where he knew he’d find what he needed to push away the knot in his throat and the tightness in his chest from what would happen tomorrow and in the nearest future.
Chris couldn't help but ask his mother during breakfast that day who was his godfather whose property he’d be staying indefinitely and Jeane was helpful in giving him all the information she could remember about his godfather, Elijah, the owner of Taigh Hill, and Elliot Wood, his younger brother. As it was, they both seemed happy to accept him just like two other boys his age, children of his staff who had solicited the favor.
Chris couldn’t deny he was curious to know more about the other boys but he also couldn’t push away the feeling he was abandoning his mom, which made him reluctant to think about such matters and get even a bit excited with the prospect.
Chris sighed as he looked at the shelves beside the fireplace, the countless books bound by leather whispering their stories, dropping their honey to those who were thirsty for them. Filled with life and too attractive for Chris not to let his fingers dance over their spines, reading the familiar titles, books his hand had passed through thousands of times, that made him feel like he wasn’t so alone. He knew it was cliche to say that but books had saved him from so Much unnecessary suffering.
They had saved him.
Finally, his fingers stopped at the book he was looking for and he pulled it from the shelf, leafing through the pages until he found the one he’d already read thousands of other times, running his finger over the ink and the letters, murmuring the words he knew by heart:
Out of the Night that covers me          Black as the pit, from pole to pole,          I thank whatever gods may be          For my unconquerable soul.          [...]          It matters not how strait the gate          How charged with punishments the scroll          I am the master of my fate          I am the captain of my soul.
Chris looked at those words of blurred ink, internalizing them with an involuntary shiver. They were so powerful he could almost feel them physically, caressing his cheeks, warming his heart, loosening the knot in his throat as he knew they would do.
“Chris, is everything okay?” the sweet voice of his mom entered his ears, taking him from the world of the words with a sudden push, making him raise his eyes to her, blinking away his surprise at seeing her there with Nana, both of them knitting.
Jeane seemed better with the afternoon while Nana still had that serious, sour expression on her face, no doubt remembering the Great War time when she lost her husband. He forced himself to smile at his mom, walking towards them calmly, not allowing himself to hesitate.
“Yeah, everything’s fine,” he answered while sitting on the armchair beside hers and watching the two most important women in his life. Chris waited for a while until he took a deep breath to gather the courage to ask Jeane: “You’re really not going?”
He didn’t know what he looked like then but Chris could hear the tremble in his voice, the vulnerability in it. And maybe Jeane had seen something in her child’s eyes because he put aside her knitting needles and turned completely to him, her baby blue eyes shining with all the worry she was fighting to hide from him.
When her fingers touched Chris’ face, he felt the same as when he’d read the poem. It was like the words were penetrating his soul as if his mother’s touch was something sacred and revered. He let his head roll down, closing his eyes to enjoy the caress. When Jeane spoke, her voice was melodious, a murmur full of emotion:
“Believe me, cariad, I wish I could go with you or that I had a way to keep you close to me but I can’t...” Her voice was taken by emotion, making Chris open his eyes to look at his mom’s baby blues. “I can’t abandon your dad because this will be Hell for him and it’s my duty as his wife and life partner to stay by his side. I couldn’t bear, though, if you were in danger.”
“While you’re free to choose the risk,” Chris shot back resignedly, leaving the armchair to sit on the wooden floor, by his mother’s leg as he embraced them like he did when he was a child and felt sad his dad wasn’t present to some special date or event.
He let his head rest on her lap and Jeane didn’t hesitate to run her fingers through his hair soothingly.
“We’re all free to do so, mi hijo,” said Nana with her Spanish accent getting thicker because of the emotion she was trying so hard to hide. “But you know your parents would never know peace if you stayed. Or even me, to be honest. War is hard and it takes a lot of people, but more importantly, it takes a lot from people. The young ones especially.
“I’m realizing that,” was all Chris said in a murmur, his eyes closed as his mom kept running her fingers through his hair.
He didn’t leave when Maxwell entered, although it wasn’t the same relaxed feeling he felt as he talked to both women before, but Chris tried to pretend he didn’t exist as his father did the same. Chris found out pretty quickly it wasn’t so relieving as he thought it would be.
——— ◘ ———
On the following morning, Chris and his family arrived early at the train station, which was already filled with people coming and going from their jobs, all of them carrying tired expressions but with arrogant, optimistic feelings on their straightened backs. He could hear his father’s assistant commenting that they already had won the war and that the Germans wouldn’t have a chance. Chris almost laughed at the poor fool.
As a diligent reader, Chris had begun to understand the world they lived in too early and he had always cared about the news, especially When it was about external affairs. He knew well that England was broke, as were many countries because of the Wall Street Crash of 1929 and the Great War at the beginning of the century; he knew it’d be a difficult war that would drag on for years before it was over.
Chris also knew about what Hitler had been doing to the Jews in Germany and to think of that kind of cruelty gave him shivers even if he tried not to think about it, as his mother had requested some time ago. It was hard to have hope when one knew everything there was to know around the world and something they quite needed was hope.
Chris took a deep breath, trying to ignore the push and shove of people around him as he tried to also protect Jeane from it. They were in front of the train, impatient because they knew they had no time left. Maxwell seemed as cold and distant as always, and he didn’t even look at his son or Jeane as they said their goodbyes, preferring to speak to his assistant instead.
When the final moment arrived, mother and son looked at each other with pain filling their eyes. Chris didn’t even try to resist the impulse of pulling his mom in to hug her with all the strength he had, holding on to her as if she was all that he had. For a long time, it had been true.
Jeane hugged him back, always armed with her infinite softness and didn’t let go of him until the train whistled, warning the passengers to get in soon. As they let go, Chris touched their foreheads together for a couple of seconds, his eyes still closed. Then he let go of her, looking at Jeane, then at Maxwell.
They exchanged an uncomfortable look, neither of them knowing what to do. At last, Chris turned with his back straightened. As he walked away from his parents, he had this latent sensation that he was losing a part of himself and the shadow of his dad’s goodbyes was tormenting him. It was like the phantoms of Maxwell’s arms were around him as he walked, pushing him back to them so that their place was finally occupied. The words he could’ve said also brushed his brain, circling his thoughts he couldn’t get in order.
Chris knew if he’d stayed even one second more in Maxwell’s company, he’d end up saying something he would regret and they’d end up fighting just like they had done yesterday and the day before. And the weeks prior. And the months.
And all those years since Chris had grown tired of waiting for him at his birthday parties. He was thirteen when he cried for the last time because of his father’s absence and he remembered that night very well. It was the night of the accident. The night he’d lost part of the movement on his hand and what made it impossible for him to join the Army.
A sigh escaped his lungs before he could suppress it and Chris ignored the bad look of the old lady in front of him because of it. It wasn’t like he cared what she thought of him — the woman meant nothing to him anyway.
While passing through the cabins, Chris saw some interesting people and others that seemed as boring as attending a trigonometry class. He kept himself far away from the latter until he found an almost empty cabin: the only passenger was alone in it. The blond boy seemed unhappy and uncomfortable as he stared at the window, lost in his thoughts.
“Excuse me,” Chris said, catching the boy’s attention. “Is there someone seated here?”
“No,” said the boy in response, clearly apprehensive and the reason was obvious: Christian could easily identify the German accent.
This is the reason, he thought as he stared at the boy for a couple of seconds, why the cabin was empty. The boy was German. In the minds of ridiculous people, he might have been an enemy, although Christian could hardly conceive that logic.
“Right, I’m gonna sit with you then,” he said as he got over his moment of shameful hesitation. Christian pulled his suitcase along, putting it on the luggage rack above with some hardship, and sat in front of the boy, looking at him in open curiosity. “I’m Christian. You?
“Oliver,” the boy said, looking back at him with equal curiosity. “You know you can sit anywhere on the train, don’t you?
“Here seems like as good of a place as any,” Christian responded as he felt his stubbornness grow. He smiled, raising his hand to the boy in front of him. “It’s nice to meet you, Oliver.”
There was only a second of hesitation before Oliver smiled back and shook his hand.
“I can say the same, Christian.”
“Call me Chris.”

80 - One Day of Peace

Part 81
Gemini Runaway
@icefrye19 @secretdreamlandmentality
I felt someone tracing patterns on my bare shoulder. Shifting my body around, I attempted to go back to sleep. But the action only trailed down my back where I finally opened my eyes. “How long have you been waiting for me to wake up exactly?”
Klaus was staring down at me with the biggest smile I have ever seen. “Long enough to know what I wanted to do last night all over again for the rest of our lives.” His dirty blonde hair was a curly mess and if you looked at mine you would say the same.
“Well I would certainly enjoy that. But I just want to stay right here and take advantage of the morning without screaming children.” I laid my head back in the crook of his neck.
He shifted where we were facing each other against my grumbles that he shouldn’t have moved. He held himself up by his left elbow. “I’m sorry you had to deal with them all on your own. If anything you shouldn’t have to lift a finger for the next six years of their lives.”
“Oh hell no. I can’t leave their teenage years in the hands of you. I love you honey but I don’t think you want to talk about a woman’s monthly cycle and all that.” I shook my head seeing that he cleared his throat when I mentioned it.
He clicked his tongue leaning forward and kissed me slowly. “I suppose you can lift a finger to that. But otherwise you should be treated like a queen.”
“You do that enough already. Besides, you also would have to deal with little Andrea.” I warned him shifting up so I could kiss him until the burning sage smell was dying out in the corner of the room.
Klaus pulled back suggesting to me with a raised brow draping his arm around my waist tugging me closer to him if that was even possible. “We could always just get a separate house away from my siblings. That way we would never have to worry about being too noisy…cause I rather like hearing you moan my name and everything in between." He moved to hover above me where I fell onto my back smiling up at him.
His wounds had healed over which was a good sign that he was back to his old self. He leans down kissing me gently, smiling into the kiss. "Honestly I wish we could just stay in this bed forever. Yet we have daughters to remember about."
"Five more minutes, Raelyn please." He begged me, breaking the kiss showing me his puppy dog eyes.
Without giving him a chance to react I vamped him onto his back. He parted his lips with my hair falling all around crazy and I was the one on top. "Ten more minutes, Klaus." He pressed his lips onto mine running his fingers through my locks. Resting my hands on his chest I deepened the kiss where we both moaned into the kiss and we went another round of last night until the sage was completely burnt out.
Finally we got out of the bed where I shrugged on some dark jeans and some coral tenna shoes. Shrugging a light green shirt over my head I left my hair loose. Klaus slipped on some black jeans and boots with one of his gray henley long sleeve shirts. We headed down the stairs seeing that everyone else was out on the main porch except for Hayley since she was going to wake the girls from their naps. Leaning against the white wooden fence Kol smirked in our direction. "I assume someone enjoyed themselves last night. We could smell the amount of sage you were burning Raelyn."
"Kol…" I cleared my throat feeling my face turn red.
Klaus wrapped an arm around my waist glaring at his brother when he just kept going on. "Tell me, Nik. Was Raelyn dominant or you last night-"
"Ask anyone questions about our sexual relationship and I'll dagger you!" Klaus threatened him. "Raelyn and I were simply making up for lost time. I think you should all understand that."
Kol took a drink from his Bourbon changing the subject. "What's the holdup? All right, we rescued Nik, we escaped mortal danger...Why are we not on a private jet to Saint-Tropez?” He moved taking the newspaper from Elijah. “You can catch up on the last five years when we're on our way... I assure you you haven't missed much.”
He took it back from his brother. “Circumstances have changed. We will leave here soon enough.”
Rebekah crossed her arms over her chest. “We have our niece to consider.”
“Kol has a point. We need to put an ocean between us and Marcel Gerard as soon as possible.” Freya got up from her white porch chair coming to stand between me and Rebekah.
Nik entered the conversation, intertwining my hand in his. “We're not going anywhere today. I want one day of peace with my daughter before we uproot them.” He sent me a smile seeing that I laid my head on his shoulder.
Freya crossed her arms over her chest. “Any delay is a risk.”
“One day. We're in the middle of nowhere, the house is cloaked, we weren't followed, and I'm not asking!” Klaus raised his voice to his sister before the front door opened.
Everyone turned their heads seeing that Hayley led her daughter and ours outside where the four girls just stared down a moment. “Everybody, look who's awake.”
“Daddy!” Missy bolted around her sister’s flinging her arms and legs around her father when I moved to the side.
He grunted, stumbling a little, wrapping his arms around her tiny body. “Hey there sweetheart.” He bent down on his knees so he could hug her on the porch ground.
“I missed you so much, daddy.” Missy broke the hug crying heavy tears.
He pushed her hair from her eyes while wiping away her tears with his sleeve. “Don’t cry, Missy. I missed you too. Don’t worry daddy isn’t going anywhere.”
“Daddy. You should have seen me. I helped mom deal with her cousin Kai.” Alina came forward next bouncing up and down in excitement wanting to tell him of our adventure to Mystic Falls. “Missy, Hope and I all were badass witches.”
“Alina..” I warned her by sending her a glare.
Hope finally moved from the doorway away from Andrea. She paused before she slowly hugged her father gently. “Dad….mom can we go play in the garden?” She broke the hug smiling at him before she looked up at me.
“Yeah sure. Go ahead and take your sister’s.” I nodded before she took her sister’s hands and they ran off down the stairs. An hour later the rest of the Mikaelson’s went to do their own separate thing giving us the day with our daughters. Resting my hands on the railing I watched my girl’s from afar. Hope was painting at the table while Alina and Missy were playing tag around the table giggling.
Klaus’s arms wrapped around my waist from behind. He rested his chin on my shoulder nuzzling his nose into my neck. “They are just as beautiful as their mother. You have done a rather good job raising them.”
“Well thank you.” Turning around in his hold draping my arms over his shoulders I bite my lip. “Now that I have you back I hate to ask this but it was already planned for a year. But would you be willing to attend Alaric and Jo’s wedding with me this weekend?”
He smiled, kissing the crown of my head. “How could I ever say no to my queen. Now let’s go see what they are doing down there shall we?” He looped my fingers with his and we slowly walked down into the grass stopping when we reached the table.
Hope was moving a paintbrush across her page that was a blue ocean. She looked up at us seeing we were watching her. "Mom says you like to paint too."
"I do, very much." He grinned brightly. He pulled the chair away, sitting down staring at her.
She looks at me, placing a blank page in front of him. He picks up a paintbrush drawing something with orange. "Daddy, watch Invisique." Missy called his name, making him lift his gaze upward.
She disappeared from Alina's view when she took a hold of her orange gem necklace that I had given her. "What the - Missy that's cheating!"
"You did it last time." Missy became visible again before Alina could grab her light green gemstone necklace.
Klaus turned his head looking at me curiously. "I thought they could only do magic when they drew from us or Hope. How can they do magic now?"
"I created some gemstones in their favorite colors. And then had them place their ability to siphon inside the stones. Now they can just siphon from the necklaces like I did sometimes. It only is made for smaller spells though." Putting my hands in my pockets I explained to my husband, smiling.
He took my hand in his kissing my palm. "Brilliant as always."
"Daddy, come on. We can show you the hideout!" Alina called our attention. Missy and Hope followed her along with us.
The entire time I couldn't stop smiling at them. These were the moments I would dream about. The moments I would long for in my sleep. The moments that kept me going during all our time apart. Alina began climbing up a small tree trunk where we could see a tiny wooden tree house made. "It was Andrea's idea." They had a tire swing and a slide made into the trunk.
"It's a very impressive forties. But what if…there's a tickle monster." Klaus clicked his tongue vamping up the stairs since it was big and strong enough to hold our weight too.
Alina squealed when he chased after her. "Ahh daddy!" He managed to catch her where he threw her over his shoulder.
Missy grabbed onto his leg trying to distract him. "Let go of my sissy. Mommy a little help!"
"I'm not afraid of her." Klaus pretended but in truth sometimes he was afraid of his wife and how much power she had over him.
Putting my hands on my hips I smirked at him. "Oh really. Alina, Missy get down I've got this. Motus." Flicking my wrist Nik was thrown on his back with me above him.
"Urgh Rae. I know you can't resist the tickle monster either." He smirked, holding me by my hips.
I smiled leaning down kissing him quickly. He kissed back, running one hand up until it was holding the side of my cheek. "That's true. Mr. Hybrid but I will save my girls."
"Do you need to be saved in other forms, perhaps ones without the girls present?" He smirked into the kiss, when I moved my body onto his and I could feel his pants shifting.
Missy and Alina both made disgusting noises making us break away. "Eeeww!"
"Oh look a butterfly." Hope dropped down from the tree house ledge seeing a blue one in a patch of orange flowers.
Missy came over to us with Alina sliding down the slide coming over to us. “I think it's stuck.”
Klaus lowered himself onto his knees as the three girls stared down at the injured creature. “Yeah, it has a broken wing.”
Hope unclipped her bracelet off her right wrist handing it to him. I had spelled her a bracelet since she seemed to be getting stronger with her magic unless she wore it. “Shh. Don't get mad mom.” She put a finger to her lips raising her hands before the butterfly was healed and flew up into the sky.
“We can do a lot more difficult spells when we siphon from mom or sissy.” Alina said, showing him her necklace smiling before she waved her hand and the orange flowers on the ground broke and they flew up into the air.
Missy raised her finger, mumbling the reversal to the invisible spell they had been taught. Before our eyes another injured butterfly flies from her thumb. “But mom said when we’re older aunt Freya and uncle Jacob can teach us bigger spells.”
“I think it’s getting late. We should head back for dinner. I bet you daddy is rather hungry too.” I told the triplets looking at me before they started walking beside us and Klaus.
He walks slowly beside me, taking my hand in his. “I think you're doing rather well all by yourselves.”
“I can't always control it so well. It scares me sometimes.” Hope admitted sadly.
Alina nodded too. “Me too.”
Finally Missy agreed with her sister’s. “Same.”
Klaus paused in his step at the end of the porch steps. He bends down on his knees holding Hope by her shoulders. Alina and Missy moved to stand beside her when he spoke to them all. “You, luv, are the daughter of Klaus Mikaelson. You're going to be the greatest witches the world has ever seen. And nothing will scare you.”
“I know what you are, you know. The strongest in the world. Strong enough to keep all of the bad things away.” Hope smiled with a slight tilting of her head.
He shifted his gaze between his other two daughters. “What bad things?”
“Just bad guys. Monsters ... .like Great uncle Joshua and cousin Kai.” Alina crossed her arms over her chest.
Missy added onto what her twin said. “People who are mean, selfish, and angry.”
“Nothing is going to harm my little girl. Nothing will even get close. You're all that matters to me.” Klaus declares pulling them each in for a hug before he got to his feet shooing them toward the house. “You’re trembling. Let’s get you all inside, eh. Go on your mother and I will catch up.”
Watching them head up towards the house I leaned into his embrace when he tugged me into his side. “So your uncle still lives to come after them I assume. When we see him at the wedding I’ll gladly kill him if you wish.”
“There’s no need to worry about him. I managed to unlink our girls and any future kids we have from my crazy family curse. Now I think we deserve a proper family meal together.” Looping his hand in mine I felt him spin my wedding ring. We walked towards the house enjoying the one day of peace we got to have.

@fbiartist  liked the starter call // What Will Be Left // Amnestic AU
it’s not like he doesn’t know something is wrong. it feels like something’s tickling in his brain, trying to make its way to the surface. but every time he tried to grab it to pull it up, it slipped away. it frustrated him and that frustration led to anger that makes him want to break things.
his name. it's on his tongue and yet he cannot say it nor remember. it's something with 'e', he's sure. or perhaps 'e' is some kind of brand that had been engraved in the cufflinks of the fine suit in which he attained consciousness.
maybe he worked in this area somewhere? even if this would surprise him very much because this doesn't seem to be an area for suits, let alone for such expensive ones. one of the reasons why he dumped the suit for something more casual to blend in while he's looking for answers. jeans and t-shirt will do as well although he has to admit it felt foreign, strange even.
days passed and nothing changed although he stayed in the area in which he regained consciousness. apparently, no one even seemed to miss him which caused him to believe that no one is looking for him because he was alone before. admittedly, it hit him a little because his gut told him that he hasn't been a nobody before.
he found distraction in the nightlife. it gave plenty to drink and to feed on and no one asked too many questions so it didn't make him feel too.... lost.
he had just gotten himself beer in a plastic cup at the bar before he made his way through the dancing crowd when someone bumped into him and the content of his cup spilled over someone's arm.

"oh, sorry. i apologize for the accident," he looked at the woman apologetically and raised his free hand in defense, hoping she won't get mad.

Hey its me again, can you do a soul mate fic with the mikaelson Brothers where she's like thirteen or twelve and a Gilbert sister but she's pushed aside by the scooby gang and the Originals find her and help her?
Gosh yes, soulmate fics hit me in the heart
Warnings: Angst, Fluff, Protective Mikaelson men, Reader is a shy bean, Elena and Jeremy being terrible siblings, thoughts of suicide
A/N: might make a part two as I enjoyed writing this
Since the death of your parents your life was a little lonely as you were left alone for hours at a time. You were with your parents at the time of the accident that left you with the fear of large bodies of water as you only took showers due to the fear of drowning. Everyone was always worried about Elena or Jeremy never really you as the only people that worried about you was Bonnie and Grams. Both witches always making sure you were eating and taking care of your until Grams death which hit you hard as Bonnie was there taking care of you angry with Elena and Jeremy for not seeing your pain.
You were shy, scared and innocent little thing hearing the thoughts of your soulmates once you hit thirteen and your soulmates knew how you felt as you would talk to them for hours though your thoughts. You nibbled on your bottom lip seeing Damon in the living room with Elena, vampires didn't scare you just Damon and Stefan.
"El...Elena....I'm leaving now."
"Okay." Was all Elena told you no be safe or come home early as you could which hurt you knowing that your sister was more concerned for Jeremy than you. The Scooby gang was always protecting Elena leaving you to protect yourself from the wolves now that phase made you cringe knowing that werewolves were real.
"Would it be wrong to jump?" You mumbled to yourself looking over the old bridge, you had never thought of killing yourself but lately it seemed Elena wanted you dead as she left you in more and more life or death situations. Jeremy seemed to ignore you more and more making you feel like a waste of space.
"Elena wouldn't have to deal with me anymore." You say dropping your bag and climbing on to the railing thinking about tainting the memories of your parents death that Elena had. For a moment you wondered if Elena and Jeremy would morn your death stop going after the Mikaelsons just to morn you. You noticed your soulmate's thoughts were quiet they weren't thinking it almost made you change your mind about jumping.
'They wouldn't want me either, no one wants me.' You thought closing your eyes moving to step off when suddenly you felt arms wrap around you pulling you away from the railing.
"What were you thinking?!"
"Niklaus, calm yourself. You'll scare her." You heard two voices say and open your eyes seeing you were being held by a man dressed in a Henley and slacks and saw three others. You remembered they were the Original family well Finn, Elijah, Klaus and Kol without Rebekah. You blinked confused, why would they pull you back as you were nothing special.
"Wrong darling, you are our soulmate." Kol says rubbing your hand frowning how cold they were as Finn noticed you shivering and took off his coat placing in on your shoulders. Klaus pacing angry not at you but the Scooby gang for pushing you to the side like this.
"We should take her home. Get her warmed up." Finn says getting his brothers attention as you couldn't believe your soulmates were your siblings enemies. You squeaked feeling them place soft kisses on your neck and cheeks as their way to calm you and you remembered they could still hear your thoughts.
In the Mikaelson home Elijah took you from Finn to wash you as he went to make you some tea and Kol got warm clothes for you. Your heart began to ache with how soft they were being finding yourself curled up in Elijah's arms as Kol lit a fire.
"Where is Rebekah?"
"Out shopping little one." Elijah says running his fingers though your hair as you relaxed in his arms. Warmth filled you as for the first time you felt loved as the men frowned hating how you were treated.
"Wouldn't you want a soulmate that is older?"
"Oh love, we wouldn't want anyone that wasn't you. My brothers and I waited too long for you to let go now." Klaus says as you felt Elijah press a kiss against your temple. Your heart skipped a beat feeling shy as it was a little jarring since you were so sure you weren't going to meet your soulmates any time soon.
"But..but."
"No more buts. Now love are you hungry?" Klaus asked as you nodded relaxing fully into Elijah's arms letting them care for you.
It was weird to as you saw the Original family as people and not the monsters you over heard your sister talk about. Rebekah liked you better than your sister as you stayed with the Mikaelsons since your soulmates didn't want you out of their sight.
Bonnie knew about them being your soulmates and decided to help the men build trust with you since you were still a little stand offish. This in turn had trust build between the witch and Originals as she helped the relationship build a platonic bond first before fully falling into a soulmate bond.
"Just like that love." Klaus said softly standing behind you showing you how to paint as you wanted to learn how to so Klaus took it as a chance to bond with you since his brothers have thing to bond with you.
Finn would cook with you, Elijah reading with you while Kol enjoyed cuddling you since it seemed you both were touch starved. Of course it took awhile for your sister to finally notice that you hadn't been around the Gilbert home or the Grill.
"Ah this is where you have been." Elijah says stepping in the studio smiling seeing Klaus with you and how comfortable you were being warped up in Klaus's arms as you painted.
"Need something brother?"
"Just that Elena is looking for our little soulmate."
"Why now?" You asked shuffling closer to Klaus as you had gotten comfortable being showered with affection and people who actually worried.
"Shhh little one, we won't let nothing happen to you." Elijah says kissing your hand as you gave a shaky smile still worried but trusted them.
"Y/N!" You heard Elena shout making Finn quickly have you behind him as you both were grocery shopping when she spotted you.
"Elena....Damon." You said quietly as Damon stared Finn down as Alaric came jogging up tossing a white oak stake to Damon this made you tense up. Finn felt your worry as he placed the bags in the car.
"Miss Gilbert how may we help you?"
"Give me my sister back that you and your brothers kidnapped." Elena said her brown eyes narrowing seeing how Finn was hiding you.
"We did no such thing. She is our soulmate."
"She is only thirteen! There is no way I am allowing that!" Elena said as you flushed knowing what she was talking about completing the bond but the Mikaelson men made it every clear that they'll wait.
'We need to build this bond on trust, little one so to compete the bond while you are still young....would be wrong.' Was what Elijah told you as they were worried about you not wanting to force such a bond on you wouldn't sit well with your soulmates.
"We have no need for the bond to be completed at the moment, unlike you and the Salvatore boy." Finn says looking at Damon who stood straight and glared at the Original before rushing at him and you closed your eyes scared.
"Not today Damon." You heard Elijah say as Damon hit the ground from being thrown. Elena rushed to Damon's side as Kol and Klaus had shown up also having heard your thoughts.
"So the calvary arrives."
"Elijah give back my sister." Elena said standing up looking at Elijah in the eyes as he looked at her. You swallowed feeling your anxiety spike as Kol moved over to you hugging you.
"I apologize Elena but I can not do that unless she wishes to do so." Elijah says looking back at you seeing Kol helping you into the car.
"She coming with us to New Orleans." Klaus says smirking at the three when the fight broke out and Finn was quick to drive you out of there.
"What about Nik and Elijah?"
"Don't worry sweetheart they'll be fine."
Both Originals returned that night joining you in bed waking you slightly. Elijah smiled softly kissing your head as Klaus moved behind you.
"You're home." You mumbled nuzzling Elijah's chest as Klaus pressed closer.
"Shhh go back to sleep little one." Elijah whispered running his fingers though your hair as Finn and Kol climbed into bed also. You yawned setting in their warmth knowing they were safe and sound as you couldn't wait to join them in New Orleans but for now enjoyed having them close.

Can I requests a Ploy!Mikaelson boys and Platonic!Rebekah x Black!Reader? Where reader owns her own business and spoils them and Hayley is surprised because she thought Elijah was single.
Oh yes powerful rich black woman are my fucking favorite!
Warnings: Mikaelson boys being simps, Fluff, Y/N ain't having any of Hayley's pettiness,
A/N: my girls with natural hair please remember to wrap your hair in a silk or satin scarf because I forgot one morning and spent hours untangling my curls.
Y/N had came home after being a month away for work and as soon as her heels clacked against the stone floor and her sweet scent hit the vampire's noses. The boys were gone leaving behind a confused Hayley with a smirking Rebekah who got up to follow with the hybrid.
Hayley saw the Mikaelson men helping a gorgeous woman with her bags as Hayley saw the woman had glowing light chocolate skin, loose long curls down her back. The woman was dressed in a short pencil skirt with a navy blue botton up tucked into the skirt that showed off her curvy hips with white heels that made her ass look even great in the skirt. Elijah was helping her remove her coat and Kol was bringing in her bags with Klaus.
From what Hayley could tell the black woman was working for a company of some sort and didn't miss the way the three men shamelessly stared at the woman's ass when she bent over digging in her bag for something.
"Rebekah, who is that?"
"Y/N L/N, their lover and my best friend." Rebekah said noticing how her brothers were staring at the hem of Y/N's skirt that rode up a bit giving them a peek of the garner belt straps holding up her thigh thighs.
"Wait what?" Hayley choked out staring at Rebekah as Y/N had stood straight walking pass her loving men to Rebekah.
"You know they are pouting now?"
"They can wait or else they won't see the little lace number I am wearing." Y/N said making the three stand straight. Y/N giggled holding up a small bag to Rebekah.
"A gift?"
"I got something for each of you as an apology for being gone too long." Y/N said as Rebekah peeked in the bag smiling seeing it was a new pair of earrings. Y/N looked at Hayley smiling at the hybrid before returning to her men pulling gifts out for them too.
Hayley couldn't believe what she was seeing watching the Mikaelson men become somewhat submissive. No scratch that...the men were submissive to the woman seemly bending them to her will. Hayley watched them follow after the dark skinned woman as if she was the only women in the world.
"Rebekah, are they always so....submissive with her?" Hayley asked frowning when Y/N paused to kiss Elijah who responded back right away.
"No. But to keep that black beauty they worship her." Rebekah says walking away leaving a jealous Hayley behind. For the next few days whenever Hayley was at the Abattoir the hybrid saw how the Original men followed Y/N around getting her things or just sitting with her.
It was a chilly morning when Hayley came by and saw Y/N sitting in one of Klaus's Henley's and pajama pants with a clay mask on typing away on her laptop. Hayley noticed that she was on speakerphone talking to someone and Anderson.
"Just be sure that the work gets done." Y/N said hanging up her phone as Hayley stepped in as Y/N got up and cleaned off her face and sat back down.
"Can't do your own hair?" Hayley made a off hand comment looking at Y/N's hair wrapped up in a silk scarf as if she had just gotten out of bed.
"I can but it relaxes Elijah when he does my hair so I try not to."
"Where is Elijah? Out doing your dirty work like Kol and Klaus?"
"Ran out of hair products and as for Kol and Klaus. They said something about helping Davina ring in a few witches."
"I am surprised they are with woman like you." Hayley said making the black beauty look at her.
"I'm surprised that Klaus and Elijah even slept with a woman like you." Y/N said not in the mood for Hayley's petty comments. Y/N was no fool as she saw how Hayley looked at Elijah even though she was married.
"I am back my love." Elijah said before Hayley could say a word walking in kissing Y/N's cheek and placed down the bag.
"Hello Elijah.....you went overboard with buying products didn't you?"
"No. Just made sure you weren't going to run out." Elijah says taking off the silk scarf and got to work with her hair.
"Don't you think it is a bit worrisome that they drop everything for that woman?" Hayley asked Camille one night as she was having drinks at Rousseau's. Camille huffed as she met Y/N and found the woman gorgeous and cute how the Original men followed her around.
"Well no. I mean they are really really in love with her."
"But Elijah was going to wait for me." Hayley said as Camille frowned pouring the hybrid another drink.
"A hundred years is a long time to wait for a woman. Don't forget Elijah would have to wait until you are done mourning for Jackson."
"So him being with a woman that won't most likely live to 80 is better?"
"I was planning to turn but go off I guess." Y/N said walking in placing her bag down on the bar and Camille smiled at her. Hayley looked Y/N over seeing her dressed in a every professional dress with red bottom heels her hair in braids.
"Your usual whiskey?"
"Yes please Camille."
"Long day?"
"I have been dealing with the board of directors all day." Y/N said as Hayley frowned wondering why secretary would deal with a board of directors.
"Well you are an C.E.O and you can't hide in your office all day." Camille said shocking Hayley as her head snapped to the woman next to her.
"If I knew that I wouldn't have accepted the position."
"Then I wouldn't get brag that my wife is a powerful woman that could bury my enemies." Klaus's voice reached Hayley's ears as the Original hybrid walked in.
"Nik, I don't have a ring yet so why call me your wife?"
"That I am sorry for but Elijah insists that it be prefect." Klaus teases back before kissing the woman. Y/N giggled against his lips as Klaus hands rested on her hips.
"PDA? Is it because the guy at the end of the bar?" Y/N teased running her fingers though Klaus's hair pulling a deep groan from the back of his throat as he buried her neck. Hayley was surprised with how affectionate Klaus was to the human woman.
"Maybe." Klaus muttered letting her turned around to talk to Camille. Hayley just couldn't believe what she saw of Klaus just being a loving boyfriend.
"Hayley is quite the woman." Y/N said to Rebekah as both women were watching guests of the ball that Klaus and Elijah was throwing for the Factions. Y/N was dressed in a strapless and backless mermaid dress of a color that made Y/N's skin glow as she looked gorgeous.
"She is. I am still surprised Hayley managed to wormed her way into their beds."
"Hmm she stills have a thing for Elijah even though she is married." Y/N said sipping her drink watching Hayley with Elijah who was only being polite.
"Oh you noticed too?" Kol's smooth voice reached Y/N's ears as his arm wrapped around her waist placing a kiss on her bare shoulder.
"I did. Need something Kol?"
"Yes, I would like to dance." Kol said as Y/N chuckled letting Kol take her out to the floor to dance knowing Elijah would get jealous.
"Exuse me Hayley." Elijah said walking away headed over to Y/N and Kol asking to cut in which you allowed. The more Hayley hung around the more she saw just how much the Mikaelson men loved Y/N and saw how the woman spoiled them.
"Rebekah where is Elijah?"
"Den but I would recommend to be quite." Rebekah says walking out the Mikaelson home to meet up with Marcel. Hayley walked into the den finding Elijah asleep on the couch with Y/N asleep on him and Kol sleeping his face buried in her back and Klaus sleeping in a chair. Hayley frowned leaving not before noticing the ring on Y/N's hand as the hybrid didn't want to hear nor see the happy news when they woke that they were marrying.

Elijah Mikaelson x Reader
Request- This is really silly so I understand if you don't like it but would you be able to write an Elijah Mikaelson x reader where he isn't wearing a suit one day and when the reader sees him, they make a big production about him being "naked" and cover their eyes?
Warnings- slight swearing
Word Count- 429
“No Bekah all I’m saying is that if Nik doesn’t learn how to renegade by the end of the week, I’ll sacrifice him just like he did with that annoying doppelganger.” I explain to Bekah as we discuss which Mikaelson sibling would go viral on Tiktok first. Personally I believe Nik would. Even though I love Elijah, I have to admit Nik is kinda attractive.
“Well personally I think my little Hope would do very well,” Bekah argues back, “Brother what do you think?”
I turn over my shoulder expecting Nik but am faced with Elijah. He smiles at me and Bekah before answering her question as poshly as he can.
“Well, I don’t believe that my brother would want a bunch of teenage girls watching him dance. He’d most likely rather dagger himself. Or everyone that saw him dance.”
Rebekah is about to respond before Elijah turns his attention towards me, his eyes softening.
“Do you agree, Mi’ Amore?” I stare blankly at Elijah not focusing on his question at all, because of his appearance.
Elijah stands all in his glory wearing dark blue jeans, a white henley and unpolished hair. No suit in sight.
“You’re naked.” I say under my breath. Elijah not understanding me gives me a questioning look. I repeat myself more loudly now.
“You’re naked! I can look at you like this! It makes me feel so wrong!” I exclaim.
“What Y/N feels so wrong?” God can’t Elijah figure it out. I slap my hands onto my eyes blocking my view of the man in front of me. Bekah’s laugh fills my ears.
“You really won’t look at me because I look, so called naked?” Elijah sounds as if he’s talking to a child. “I’ll be back then.” I open my eyes to find Elijah gone. But only for a second before he appears wearing a full suit set. A smile graces my features. I get up to walk to Elijah, before he gives me an odd look.
“I would’ve thought you’d like me looking more normal.” I give him a confused look. “I just mean all of your friends' boyfriends wear younger clothes. Not old men's suits.” Elijah looks down at his $3,000 polished shoes.
Holding his face, bringing his eyes to mine. “Why would I want young and hip? I loved your suits. It makes you look rich. Like you’re my sugar daddy!” I explain to him. A confused look crosses his face which comes off when I peck his lips.
“You’re my old man.”
“I’m your old “Posh” man.”

A sneak peek to my conclusion to @galvanizedfriend‘s b’day gift. Part 1 is HERE  The rest coming very soon.
Thanks to the lovely @diaz-eddie for helping me to put together my chosen pics and quotes so beautifully.
Under Your Skin
Caroline’s younger relative gets a not-so attractive tattoo and being the overprotective cousin she takes exception to the person responsible even if he is a gorgeous, henley-wearing, smug asshat.
(Caroline)
Saturday
“Maybe this isn’t a good idea.”
“She says as we’re standing out front of the restaurant,” Elijah offers, his left eyebrow rising curiously in her direction. “Although, this outing has my sister written all over it.”
Caroline thought he looked handsome in the white doctor’s coat the other day but his impressive, well-fitting, grey suit is definitely a step-up. Why he needs a pretend date, she’s still not too sure.
“Well, it has a five star rating on Yelp.”
“That and it’s called Wallflower.” he mutters, gesturing to the sign above. “The complete opposite of my sister even if she wants everyone to believe otherwise.”
“Is it bad timing to tell you I don’t do well with family dramas or Pretty Woman scenarios for that matter?”
“Pretty Woman scenarios?”
“You’ve never seen it?” His blank look is enough to tell Caroline she shouldn’t be here for more than one reason.
Who hasn’t seen Pretty Woman?
“You know the story of Edward, AKA Richard Gere, this stuffy, rich businessman who picks up witty, beautiful and disarming prostitute Vivienne, AKA Julia Roberts on Sunset Boulevard?”
“Are you calling me stuffy?”
“That’s what you took away from that whole synopsis?”
“Is this your way of trying to tell me you’re a prostitute and I’m unknowingly paying for your services and may or may not get arrested?”
“You know I was wondering why you needed a date and now, not so surprised, E.”
“Says the woman who doesn’t know my full name,” he shoots back. “Look, let’s just get through this dinner and you can do all the picking up on Sunset Boulevard you like.”
“It’s a movie, you idiot,” she growls. “Maybe if you knew more about pop culture you might have a love life.”
“And how are you going in that area, Ms Forbes?”
“Whatever, Doctor know-it-all. Next time my cousin decides to get a hideous tattoo he’s on his own. Let’s just get through this and we never need to play make believe again. I mean how bad can your family be?”
“How much time do you have? My youngest brother has the maturity of your wayward cousin and my sister...”
“We’ve visited her spectacular and not so wallflower traits.”
“She’s a piece of work but also has a thing for a local artist. Probably the most unexpected couple ever imagined.”
“Sounds like the best thing to happen to her,” she replies. “I’m in the art industry. You know, when I visited the tattoo studio this week I was overwhelmed by just how amazing the art was adorning the walls.”
“Well, you might have something in common with my younger brother. But given the time it’s probably best we go inside.”
“Just so you know, I’m not holding your hand, E.”
“That’s fine, as long as you don’t call me that,” he replies through gritted teeth. “My siblings are like bloodhounds and will sniff out anything untoward.”
“Wow, so glad to be here, sounds like such a warm, comforting place to be.”

Hey! Could I request a Klaus x Reader where Klaus wants to do something that could get him killed and the reader is adamant about stopping him and when Klaus explodes and asks why they want to sabotage his plans, they tell him they're in love with him and couldn't stand to lose him?? How it ends is up to you but I've wanted to see this idea written for a while and your writing is so so good <3
Tumblr media
I don’t want to lose you
“I’ll go in and ‘negotiate’ with Mikael for the white oak while you two go in and look for Elijah, father won’t have hidden him well and once he sees me he probably wont bother keeping Elijah. Y/n if you could stay here and watch Hope that would be great, right are we good?” Rebekah and Hayley nodded and discussed how they would sneak in, Klaus walked off towards his art room and i just kind of stood there.
Worry boiled inside of me at the thought of Klaus being right in-front of Mikael who has a white oak stake just waiting to kill him. I quietly made my way back upstairs and straight to where i knew he was
“i don’t think you having a chitchat with your homicidal stepfather is the best plan if i’m honest” i spoke lazily as i sunk down onto the chair in the corner and watched as he got his paints out onto his palette and picked out his brushes
“mm while thankfully nobody really requested your opinion on the matter” i rolled my eyes and trailed my eyes down him, his grey henley and dark jeans fit him perfectly if anything maybe a tiny little too tight as i watched his shoulder blades through his shirt and sucked my bottom lip
“still i think it’s stupid, i mean whatcha gonna do? it’s basically a suicide quest” his head was turned a bit so i knew he was listening, his hands tighter on the palette in his hand
“perhaps if you had a smidge of faith in me it wouldn’t be a suicide mission but an act of valour.” he sounded mad. that was good, it meant my words were affecting him and he would rethink his decision
“faith or not what’re the odds yanno? i mean you were running from him for what was it?..oh yeah a thousand years!” that seemed to do something as he dropped any artsy stuff and spun round to face me, his eyes were cold and his expression was angry, offended but i kept up my ‘does it look like i give a fuck’ face and stared blankly at him. He eyed me for a minute, his eyes darting across my face to catch any expressions i could be hiding, i was nervous. but he didn’t seem to notice that at all and viewed me as purely arrogant
“look love, i’m not entirely sure why you seem to think your voice has any sort of importance but it doesn’t so unless you actually have something nice to say u suggest leaving” i rolled my eyes but didn’t move to leave
“so you only want me around when i’m kissing the ground you walk on? maybe you should go on the trip it might be a little quieter without you around smashing all of your shit every time you throw a temper tantrum” my voice got harsher, i watched the emotion swirl behind his eyes
“who do you think you are!?” he practically growled as he got closer to me, i stood from the chair so i could get out of the room just incase he went full rage mode
“i think i’m the only person in this home with a brain! especially now that Elijah’s gone its like talking to idiots” his eyes bled into gold and he took long strides towards me, i stepped backwards until i was flush against the wall, his face just above mine looking down at me and his hands either side of my head
“what the actual fuck is wrong with you! i have a plan! i know what i’m doing, i think i should how to survive after what was it? ah yes a thousand bloody years! you don’t get to sit there as though you are high and mighty, you’re weak and pathetic, you are nothing so how daw you come here, insult me to my face and try to change the trip I’m about to take! it’s not a fucking holiday y/n! i know it’s dangerous but i’m doing it to save my oh so wonderful brother!” his chest was heaving as he huffed in face
“and what about you! Elijah’s going to be too weak to come back and save you if Mikael gets you and what if just murders you on the spot? You know that he would! Rebekah and Hayley are going to be too busy with your stupid brother to come back for you and i can’t do shit as i’m so fucking weak and pathetic! you’re going to die klaus, die!” tears slipped down my face despite trying to fight them back and i avoided his eyes suddenly finding the wall opposite much more interesting
“i’m not going to die y/n, you know that i wouldn’t let that happen i have to come back to my incompetent siblings and my daughter and you” i sniffed and shrugged
“you can’t just expect to walk out of every scenario untouched, you’ve faced your father before, you personally have told me literal horror stories of Mikael, i don’t want you near him” his hand came up to hold my jaw as i slowly looked back at him
“i’ll be right back, i can give you my word on that” i shook my head and let the tears fully stream
“i don’t want to lose you” i whispered, my voice breaking at the end
“i’m not leaving” he whispered back and went to kiss my cheek but i turned my head a little and caught his lips with mine, it was only a peck as he pulled away with a surprised look on his face and i gulped in the fear of his rejection. He hesitated before pressing his mouth back against mine, i brought my hand up to the back of his hand and pulled his closer as i pushed my tongue between his lips and poured my every emotion into this kiss, he reciprocated my passion and cupped both my cheeks.
We slowly parted, i kept him close and pulled his head down to rest our foreheads against each others
“please don’t do something stupid, i love you too much for you to die, it’s not fair” i mumbled with my eyes still closed, his thumbs caressed my skin and he gave me another small kiss
“we’ll think of a different plan okay? you come with me and lets talk to the others yeah?” i stilled when he didn’t say it back and tears filled my eyes once more
“right…yeah okay” i whispered and dropped my hands from his hair
“y/n?”
“mhm?”
“i do love you…i have for ages i thought you knew that” i breathed a laugh and shook my head
“you think if i knew that i might’ve done something sooner?” he smiled and chuckled before kissing my head
“i figured you were holding out on me love”

Reacting to Legacies 3x03 (SPOILERS):
1. So ARE we FINALLY getting to some proper firstborn Mikaelson witch breakdowns?
2. Oh well, apparently no. They'll just try to wave it off as some one time thing probably.
3. So Hope and Landon are on a break. Okay. TBH watching them sass each other is interesting.
4. The guidance counselor is pretty much a compulsion monster, is that it? Well, I do like his wardrobe.
5. Alyssa's concern for MG is so fake I can't.
6. Nobody other than Jed read for Stefan? THE DISRESPECT.
7. Lizzie playing Caroline makes total sense but them asking Josie to play the lead without even an audition looks a bit bad TBH. Like, give the other interested people a chance, at least.
8. I find it a bit repetitive how there are mind-controlling monsters popping out again and again.
9. So MG is basically going through a phase similar to what Cami was going through when Klaus used to compel her at the beginning of TO. Considering Quincy's fondness for Cami, he must have liked playing that.
10. I understand that Landon is supposed to be a capable songwriter in-universe but it takes more than that to write and direct a musical and it's very weird that they didn't even find a guest star to pose as a Drama or English teacher who is guiding him or something. WHERE ARE ALL THE TEACHERS?
11. I kinda feel like some of the lead characters in this show are colour-coded. I see Hope and Landon in red and blue a lot (the two gowns we have seen Hope wearing also fall into this pattern) and Josie wears yellow in like, every other episode. If I recall correctly, Lizzie wears a lot of white, too. I wonder what the reasoning behind these choices are.
12. Well, I liked Hope and Landon's relationship in S1, I have no idea what was going on with it in S2, and I still don't know what to think about it.
13. Lizzie casts herself in Caroline's role and then chokes at rehearsal. Not totally unrealistic but still feels a bit forced to me. Would have been better if Landon cast her because she's Caroline's daughter and Lizzie was a bit apprehensive in the first place because she didn't want to mess up the role.
14. I appreciate the show taking a moment to talk about Lizzie's bipolar disorder though. It's been a while.
15. "Bonnie just disappears for long periods of time"? Dude, she's still super important and you're putting her in the play. Right? RIGHT?!
16. Landon, THANK YOU for pointing out how weird Caroline and Alaric's relationship was. The guy deadass got engaged to her and had a pissing contest over her with Stefan, that will never not gross me out.
17. So the monster is mind controlling Landon to put Klaus into the play. Saw this coming IG.
18. Hope is painting again, like her dad used to do when he felt things were going out of control. I've been rewatching TO and this is making me so emotional. I MISS KLAUS AND HIS SHENANIGANS. And not a single character on Legacies comes close to Klaus, Elijah and Hayley for me. (Sorry if this hurts anyone's feelings but Legacies really is a downgrade from TVD and TO)
19. Ugh, why would he use the contents of the letter as lyrics? Dude, is it because you're mind-controlled? No, I don't like this. Klaus loved Hope to the ends of the earth and wanted everyone to know but Hope wants to keep things private, and her wishes should have been respected.
20. So apparently Landon tries not to put Klaus' villainous antics into the show. Well, okay, it's definitely a copout but since he is Hope's boyfriend, makes sense. But I don't understand why the musical HAS TO BE about the Salvatore school. The accreditation excuse is lazy, writers! Also, Landon, my dude, Klaus was a major donor of the school. Put that in instead of the other things, stop pissing off your girlfriend FFS. Even if you're mind-controlled 🤦🏻‍♀️
21. I do find it funny how Landon is all gaga over Klaus' use of language though. The guy really did have the best lines, didn't he? (Tied with Elijah, I suppose, for me)
22. The other singers of the first song are really good so Kaylee sounds a bit rusty in comparison. Also, she reminds me too much of Dark!Josie with the hair and makeup. From a distance, she can be mistaken for Nina though.
23. I love that the backstage activities are being shown.
24. I'm digging Jed as Stefan and I really like his singing voice. And the Hero Hair wig cracked me up. Kaleb is obviously good at singing at it's nice to hear more from him. I also like how Chris Lee didn't try to exactly emulate Ian and played Damon how someone who has only heard about him might play him.
25. Is Hope painting herself before the pit or something? Or is this supposed to symbolize her despair at her parents' loss? ALSO, I WANT SOMEONE TO MENTION HAYLEY :( Why is Hayley so ignored?!
26. The same person probably wrote MG's notes and Caroline's letter IRL and therefore, in-universe, MG has Caroline's handwriting and it's funny to me.
27. Jenny sings well, I like it. I don't understand the song though, was Caroline actually ever feeling this insecure? I feel like the song became a lot more about Lizzie than her mother. (It's been forever since I watched TVD, if anyone has yet to guess, I prefer watching TO)
28. The doppelganger thing cracked me up.
29. Wait why did the monster attack Josie?! Ohhhh he's forcing Landon to improvise and put Klaus' song at the end. Well, I guess it makes it seem a bit less like Landon's fault. But would Hope know that?
30. It's hilarious how they lowkey make a call back to Nina leaving TVD and them having to put Elena in a sleep spell though.
31. Landon having a hissy fit is funny to me. Aria needs more comedic scenes.
32. Wait, where did Jade come from? Has she been in the school all these weeks?
33. While the scene seems a bit shabby to me, Klaus talking to Hope reminds me of their scene from TO 4X03. I needed more of Summer Fontana and Joseph Morgan together. Also, the donation did get mentioned, YASSSS. Man did some horrific things but he did fund the school so maybe a little less badmouthing in the presence of his daughter now that you know the story, eh, students?
34. The fact that the guidance counselor actually wore a leather jacket and a henley is cracking me up. It's really bizarre.
35. "Terrible painter" XD Klaus would have eaten you for saying that if he were alive.
36. Um, Hope, wouldn't you ask your family if you are doing enough to make your father proud, instead of this random bloke who supposedly met him once?! Maybe call Freya or Rebekah.
37. Why is this monster being nice to Hope? Doesn't it try to break people up or something? You'd think he'd try to piss her off even more and ruin her relationship with Landon.
38. Stefan was trying to be more like Damon by sacrificing himself? Um, what?
39. Well, this musical at least gave Stefan and Caroline a goodbye scene. I wonder how much the twins remember Stefan, must have been a bit emotional for Lizzie to play that. Jenny's singing was gooood, really liked it.
40. JED WAS GONNA KISS LIZZIE AND I WANTED IT TO HAPPEN. But a forehead kiss does work.
41. Hope's playing Elena now? What?
42. Ngl I want Hope and Jed to be friends. She needs more of a connection to her wolf side. Both of her parents wanted her to be surrounded by wolves and she's barely interacting with the wolves in this show, which always makes me sad.
43. So this monster can also do little spells and move physical objects eh? Whatever, this is random.
44. And this monster brings people back together? Why?
45. So when Hope is singing, is she doing it as Elena or Hope? She came on stage as Elena, but I thought the song is about Hope. So WHAT IS IT?
46. Oh Damon's on stage, so Hope is singing as Elena and it's a call back to the graveyard scene from the TVD finale.
47. Danielle sings pretty well. It's good she decided to perform this time.
48. Okay, that lifting up scene was adorable. I feel like Hope and Landon are at their cutest when they're a bit spontaneous. But she's Elena on stage and it lowkey looks like Landon crashed her romantic scene with Damon to kiss her so I'm cackling.
49. How much older is Jade supposed to be than Josie?
50. So is Josie going to leave the school for a while and that's why Ethan will be back in the picture?
51. Jade used to babysit Josie? Okay, it is hella awkward.
52. Josie why, don't do this, yikes. Kissing her once doesn't make it non-creepy.
53. The Sheriff feels kinda shoehorned to me. Also, I don't care for Matt Davis or his character.
54. So Candice did the voiceover for Caroline's letter. That's nice for the show. I still don't understand why the letter showed up in Hope's fireplace though LOL.
55. This episode should have spent more time exploring the aftermath of the loss of Rafael. The abrupt shift from the last episode wasn't nice.
56. Yeah, kids, talk out your problems, thanks.
57. I feel like Klaus is too much of a controversial figure that Hope's conflict about her father's reputation would be resolved in one day. This is feeling undercooked. Speaking of, when is one of Klaus' or Hayley's enemies coming after Hope, because she did inherit all of them. Would make for better storytelling than this monster of the week nonsense. And yeah, still no mention of Hayley, I hate this.
58. The monster's characterization was really odd to me and I am so tired of this format SMH.
59. So they toyed with MG for weeks to get a vampire for the spell? That sounds like too much effort. There are tons of vampires from Klaus and Rebekah's bloodline, they couldn't find another? Also, I wonder who is the wolf that they will use.
Well, I felt like this episode was mostly okay, but not that well-cooked or epic or whatever. What is horrific is that they didn't show Bonnie, though. They could have at least gotten a female black guest character who is one of the witch students or something. This is very offensive.
Also, I don't think it makes sense for the show to do any more musicals in the future. This ain't Riverdale.

Keeping Secrets Ch. 35
Keeping Secrets Masterlist
Tumblr media
The next morning she woke up to find Klaus still sound asleep on his side, his lips parted just a little as soft snores filled the air. Seeing him so relaxed brought a smile to her lips as she turned onto her back, reached over to the nightstand and grabbed her cell phone to see that it was only five thirty in the morning. It was odd for her to wake up this early, but considering she woke up happy, she couldn’t complain. Dance committee clean up didn’t start until eight. So she set an alarm for six thirty, put it back on the night stand then rolled over and tucked herself into Klaus’s chest. He wrapped his arm around her waist waking a little, but his arm soon relaxed as he drifted back off.
As her mind started to wander, her hand found the infinity sign hanging around her neck. As she touched it her mind went back to the night Elijah left. “I will always love you. That is why I’m letting you go.” His words echoed through her head.
Klaus woke up a few minutes later and saw her staring off into space as her manicured fingers played with the necklace. He hated that she was thinking about Elijah while lying in bed with him, but he had to keep reminding himself that regardless of last night. Katie wasn’t his to have, but she would find her way to him in time, he was sure of it. “I know you said you no longer believe in love,” Klaus’s voice pulled her out of her thoughts that she had been so lost in that she hadn’t realized he had woken up, “but you still love him, don’t you?”
“I honestly don’t know, but it doesn’t matter because love means nothing without commitment.” She sat up and slipped from the bed. “He let me go…and if I’m ever going to be able to let myself be happy,” she pulled the drawer of her vanity open and took the teal jewelry box out, popped it open then set it on the vanity, “I have to do the same.” She reached behind her neck, undid the clasp then put it in the box and shut the lid. He watched her put the box in the drawer and close it before she turned back to him. “And while I’m perfectly content with whatever you want to call what we are,” she walked back over to the bed and crawled across it, straddling his sheet covered hips, “I want you to know that I don’t want to tie you down. I know you have a thing for Caroline even though she’s with Tyler. If you decide she is who you want to pursue then I’ll step aside, no hard feelings.”
“You asked me at the ball who I would choose if I had too.” Before he could say anything else she covered his mouth with her hand.
“Don’t.” She moved her hand and he gave her a slow blink. “That was just my own insecurities manifesting in a competitive way. I don’t need nor do I want to know who you’d choose. Although if I were you I’d choose Caroline she’s a pretty amazing person and not nearly as screwed up as I am.”
He realized then that her heart was still wrapped with hard stone. She wanted him…she was letting him chip away at her, but he was nowhere near the soft spot that he wanted so badly to be let into. She still feared the hurt that love could bring and if he was being honest, he was pretty damn scared of love too. So he too was perfectly content with what they had going on right now. “If you say so.” he hooked his hand around the back of her neck, pulled her down to his lips then sat up on his knees and set his hands on her outer thighs as she situated herself in his lap. He kissed his way to her neck and bit it with a playful growl. She laughed and he pulled back to look at her smiling face, loving that a small spark was back in her eyes and he had put it there.
“I like it when you growl like that.” She admitted as she bit her lip still smiling.
“Yeah?” he asked and she nodded. “Well I like it…” he growled and bit her shoulder and she laughed again, “when you laugh like that.” He told her with a smile of his own. “What else do you like?”
“Fishing for compliments are we?” she asked with a quirk of her brow. He just shrugged. “I like your laugh too. Not your condescending, alpha male with something to prove, laugh, but the one I get from you.” She answered. “For some reason I find your hands incredibly sexy. I like the fact that you’re clearly a fan of my chest and you have no problem showing it.” Just to drive her point home he slid his hand around from where he had been holding onto her back, up her stomach to grab her breast and twist her nipple between his thumb and pointer finger pulling a sigh and a small whimper of pleasure from her. “And I like it when you do that.”
“I like the noises and face you make when I do that.” He told her as he looked at the lust his action brought to her eyes. It had been a long time since he’d enjoyed being with a woman as much as he enjoyed being with and playing with Katie. He leaned back, placing his fists on the bed behind him to prop himself up as his eyes drank her in. She balanced herself on his lap as she brushed her finger tips over his chest and down over his hips, her fingers following the v of his muscles that led further down. She usually made it a point not to look at a guy’s package when hanging out naked in bed with him, but her gaze slipped and her cheeks reddened, which was exactly why she usually tried not to look. “I like that you can be extremely seductive yet you still blush like that.”
“I like the way you say seductive.” She threw out as she looked back up at his face enjoying their back and forth complementary banter. “and succeed.”
“I like the way you moan my name when you’re close.” He told her with a smirk.
“I like how you know when I close without me blatantly saying so.” She told him.
“I like that you haven’t stopped touching me since we came into this room.” he answered without thinking, loving that he didn’t have to overthink anything right now.
“Well I like touching you.” she told him with a smile as she slipped her fingertips down his chest.
“And I like kissing you.” he told her as he looked down at her hands on him then back up at her eyes.
“Then kiss me, Big Bad Wolf.” She told him with a seductive whisper.
“You…” he put all his weight on one first, reached up and gently cupped her chin in his hand and looked at her with lustful eyes, “are the only one allowed to call me that.”
“You don’t like it?” she asked considering that every time she had called him that in the past he seemed to. Then she remembered that Mikael had called him that and her face turned to one of realization. “Shit.”
“It’s fine.” He assured her in his pep-up voice, but she didn’t pick her eyes up from where they had fallen to look at his stomach. “You called me that before he did and you say it like a compliment, instead of an insult.” She looked up at him through her lashes. “Say it again.”
“Big…Bad…Wo-” he cut her off with a kiss and fell back taking her down with him as she laughed into him.
They were still playing around, lost in each other and tangled in the sheets when her alarm started ringing letting her know she needed to start getting ready to leave. With a sigh she untangled herself from the sheet and him and rolled over putting her back to him and grabbed her phone shutting off the alarm. “I selfishly do not want to leave this bed.”
“Then don’t.” he told her as he pulled her back into him and started kissing her shoulders and back.
“I have to. I’m part of the dance committee and the gym and cafeteria are a mess.” She told him as she rolled over to face him. “I’m not going to let Caroline, Tyler, Matt and Rebekah do it all themselves.” She slipped from the bed and walked over to the dresser where she grabbed a set of under things, put them on the dresser then went to her wardrobe and opened it up. She grabbed a yellow racer back tank top and a black leather jacket then pulled the drawer out and grabbed a pair of distressed dark wash jeans. “I’m gonna go shower. If I show up reeking of sex Caroline will most likely pry until she finds out who I slept with, judge me nine ways to Sunday then tell Tyler who will tell Matt who will tell Elena and so on and so on.” She told him as she grabbed the satin robe and shrugged it on.
“Do you not want people to know you’re sleeping with me?” he asked with an enthused smirk.
“I don’t care if they find out ,I’m just not going to be the first one to start up the rumor mill.” She told him as she grabbed her clean clothes.
He sat up. “Am I invited to join you for your shower?” he asked.
She was going to tell him no, that she could use the time to clear her head, but then he stood from the bed, the sheet that had been covering him since she got out of bed slipped from his hips and a blush colored her cheeks making him smile. After a second she jerked her eyes up to his and swallowed with a gulp. “Uh huh.” Klaus laughed at her reaction and scooped her up with a growl making her yelp then burst out laughing as she wrapped her arms around him.

After their shower they went to their seperate rooms to get dressed. She was in the kitchen putting a blood bag in a coffee tumbler when Klaus found her, even wearing jeans and a plain maroon Henley she found him attractive. “What would you say if I asked you to leave town with me?” he asked as he grabbed a bag of blood out of the icebox.
“I would say give me until Monday when I can talk to the counselor about home school and then I’m all yours.” she said then put the lid on the tumbler and took a drink.
“Do you want your things at your house packed up or just what you have here?” he asked, making her realize it wasn’t just a hypothetical question.
“Oh, you’re being serious.” He took a drink of blood then smiled a closed lipped smile and lifted his brows. “What I have here will be more than enough.” She looked at the clock on her phone.
“Then Tyler’s not going to make it to homecoming clean up.” He told her and she gave him a questioning look. “He will be helping pack our things.” He watched her look down at her phone to see that she still had about twenty minutes before she had to leave the house. “I’ve got to say, I’m surprised you’ve agreed to come with me.”
“Why? I hate this town.” She asked as she pulled herself up to sit in the corner of the cabinets. “I’m tired of this place and everyone in it.” she rethought what she said. “Well, except Rebekah and Caroline, but that’s what phone’s and video chat are for.”
He walked over to stand between her knees and took a drink from his glass then set it on the bar next to her. “Where do you want to go?” he placed his hands on her sides.
She moved her arms to rest on his neck, still holding her coffee tumbler in her hand. “Anywhere in the u.s.” she told him then took a drink from the tumbler. “I don’t want to go out of the country until after graduation, which I want to come back here for. All this life I’ve anticipated walking across that stage in an ugly maroon gown and tossing my hat alongside the people I grew up with.” He smiled at her, loving that she didn’t just say, you choose or I don’t care then proceed to shoot down every idea he had like a stereotypical woman. “So where are we going?” she asked then took a drink.
“I don’t know, let me think about it.” he answered already thinking about what he wanted to show her first.
“Okay.” She looked at the clock on the wall. “I have to go.” He stepped back and let her hop down off the bar then enjoyed watching her walk away.

Katie found Rebekah in the cafeteria picking up trash that was left on the tables. “How was your night?” Rebekah asked as Katie grabbed a small blue recycling bin and started picking up trash. When Katie didn’t answer Rebekah looked up at her and smirked.
“Isn’t that a bit of a weird question for you to ask when it was your brother I spent the night with?” Katie asked with a cock of her head.
“That doesn’t touch the tip of the weird iceberg.” Rebekah told her. “When you spend as much time around your siblings as I have you learn to deal with hearing and seeing things you would prefer not to.” Katie just shook her head and smiled. “If I’m being honest I knew the two of you were making out before I interrupted.” Katie gave her a confused frown. “I know how easy it is for him to charm a woman into his bed and I know you still miss Elijah. I was giving you the opportunity to say no if it wasn’t something you really wanted.”
“Huh.” Katie huffed. Rebekah really wasn’t as much of a bitch as she came off to be. “Thanks.” Rebekah gave her a look that told her to answer her question. “Fine, my night was freaking amazing and for the first time in almost a month I don’t feel like it took every ounce of willpower I had just to get out of bed in the morning.” She told her letting a smile slip. She wanted to tell her that she and Klaus were planning on leaving together, but she figured it would be best if she let Klaus tell her.
“Well, getting laid does tend to put some pep in one's step.” Rebekah told her as she picked up trash off the table.
“Who got laid?” Caroline asked as she walked into the room and looked at the two girls. “Please tell me you didn’t sleep with Damon again.” Caroline asked Rebekah who shook her head no and pointed at Katie who wasn’t looking at them and instead focused on picking up trash. But she looked up when Caroline threw a plastic champagne glass at her. “You slept with Damon?” Caroline asked in disbelief.
“What? No!” Katie told her as she picked up the champagne glass. “No one slept with Damon again.”
“Then who did you sleep with?” Caroline asked.
“Klaus.” Rebekah answered innocently.
“Rebekah!” Katie yelled and threw the glass at her.
“You and Klaus?” Caroline asked with wide eyes.
“I’m gonna go get started on the gym.” Katie walked away not feeling like dealing with either of the girls. While Caroline and Rebekah worked in the cafeteria Katie started taking the lights down in the gym. She was almost done when someone whooshed up behind her and broke her neck.
When she woke up and took a breath through her mouth she instantly started coughing from the vervain she breathed in. The cloth in her mouth that was tied around her head had been soaked in it. Not only did it burn her cheeks and ears, but it weakened her little by little as she involuntarily breathed it in. She still took vervain every morning, but her tolerance wasn’t high enough to keep it from affecting her at all. For right now it just protected her from compulsion. She tried to lift her hands only to realize that they were pinned to the desk with pencils that someone had stabbed through her palms.
Her eyes landed on Alaric, leaning his hips against the front of his desk with his phone to his hear and she realized that he had managed to turn during the night. Esther had succeeded in creating her ultimate weapon. When another heartbeat in the room caught her attention she looked over to see Caroline, gagged with pencils in her hands, in the desk to her right.
“Listen closely. I’m at the school.” Alaric told whoever he was on the phone with. “I have Caroline and Katie and if you want to keep them alive, I need you to get into your car and come down here right away.” Alaric looked up at the two vampires staked to desks. “If you tell anyone, I will kill them.” He hung up the phone and smirked an evil smirk at them then sat down at his desk, propped his feet up on it and started twirling a stake that looked almost like it was coated in a spider web of silver, in his hand.
Tumblr media
While Caroline cried and whimpered from the painful pencils in her hands and the vervain that she inhaled with every breath, Katie sat quietly. The only indication that she was in any pain were the tears that slipped down her cheeks. After a long silence Elena appeared in the doorway of the classroom. “Let them go, Alaric.”
Alaric waved his hand at them. “Free them yourself.”
Elena walked over to Caroline, kneeled down and started to pull the pencil out of Caroline’s hand, but Alaric hit it, pushing it back in making Caroline scream out. “You said you would let her go!” Elena yelled as she stood and turned to Alaric.
“How many times do I have to tell you, Elena? Stop trusting vampires.” Alaric yelled back. “Sit.” He pointed at the desk next to Caroline and Elena sat down. Katie kept her eyes locked on the black board as Alaric walked around her, took the gag out of her mouth and dipped it in a beaker of vervain. Knowing it would be pointless to fight she opened her mouth and bit the strip of fabric, making him think he tied it super tight around her head when really she had a little slack. The sound of the vervain singeing her skin filled the air and a small grunt bubbled up out of her throat as she squeezed her eyes shut, tears slipping down her cheeks as her hands gripped the edge of the desk. She knew it wasn’t Alaric hurting her, it was the darkness that his ring and Esther had brought out of him, but at the moment she wanted nothing more than to rip his heart out and watch the light fade from his eyes.
Alaric did the same with Caroline’s gag, who started begging him to stop the second the fabric was removed from her mouth. “Alaric stop.” Elena told him as she stood up, but Alaric shoved her into the desk and tied the fabric back around Caroline’s mouth making her cry out. “Why are you doing this?” Elena asked him. Katie started chewing on the gag in her mouth, grinding her teeth back and forth over it, trying as quietly could, to break it. As she chewed on it, squeezing the fabric between her teeth, vervain filled her mouth and if she spat it out Alaric would know she was up to something. So she forced herself to swallow it and keep grinding her teeth despite her throat burning from the vervain.
“To make it easier on you when you put them out of their misery.” Alaric answered Elena as he picked up the silver coated stake.
“What? No.” Elena told him.
“Isn’t this what you wanted Elena? For me to teach you how to kill a vampire?” he asked then motioned the stake to Katie. “Well, here’s a vampire, Elena. One that I know you hate, so it should really be no problem.” He told her then held the stake out to her. “Kill her.”
“I don’t hate her.” Elena told him. “This isn’t what I want.”
Katie didn’t look at any of them. “Of course it is. All those hours you spent training, getting stronger. You could be a hunter Elena, but you’ve never actually staked a vampire through the heart.”
“No.” Elena told him and he started pacing. “Why are you doing this?”
“Because you need me.” Alaric told her. “Because you’re an eighteen year old girl without parents or guidance or any sense of right and wrong anymore.” He told her still pacing.
“Look at you. How is this right?” Elena asked with a motion at Caroline and Katie.
“They are murders.” He stopped and pointed at Caroline. “She told me she killed someone and liked it.” He took a step back and pointed the stake at Katie. “And we all know that Katie enjoyed killing her grandfather. Not once has she shown the least bit of guilt for taking a human life. How is that right?” he asked then walked over to stand across from Elena. “See, Elena, your parents led the council. It was their life’s mission to keep this town safe. They weren’t dead six months before you undid it all.”
Katie kept sawing her teeth over the cloth, her tongue, inner cheek and throat raw and bleeding. “You don’t know anything about them.” Elena told him as Katie still chewed on the cloth.
Alaric walked around Katie, leaned down putting his lips by her ear. “I can hear you chewing on your gag and I promise if you try anything I will have no problem ripping your heart out.” Not realizing just how long she had been chewing on the gag he grabbed it and jerked back on it in an attempt to hurt her. Instead it snapped it at the weak point she had created. It surprised him enough that she had time to jerk her hands up off the pencils, break them off the desk and stab him in each side of his neck, embedding them into his neck so deep the erasers were even with his skin.
Tumblr media
Elena grabbed the beaker of vervain and broke it across his face. While he was down, screaming while clutching his burning face, Katie leaned on one of the desks, trying to catch her breath from doing what she had just done while so weakened by vervain and Elena took the pencils out of Caroline's hands and the gag off of her. “Get help.” Elena told them. Katie wrapped her arm around Caroline’s waist and Caroline whooshed them out of the room.
They paused and looked back to see if Elena made it out, but they didn’t see her. A hand went around their mouths and someone pulled them around the corner. Caroline tried to scream, but Katie’s tongue, throat and the inside of her mouth was still too sore to attempt to scream. Whoever it was shushed them. “It’s okay, it’s okay. It’s me. You're both safe.” Klaus whispered then dropped his hands and they turned to look at him. “We’ll save Elena.” He told Caroline. “You go straight home. You stay inside, you understand?”
Tumblr media
She nodded at him. “Thank you.” Caroline told him quietly then looked at Katie, “Katie are you gonna be okay?” Katie just gave her a weak nod. “I’ve got her. Go. Now.” Klaus told Caroline and she whooshed off leaving Katie with Klaus. He grabbed Katie’s hand and whooshed her outside a few feet away from the school.
“What did he do to you?” he asked, setting his hand on the side of her neck as he leaned down taking in her face.
“Noth-” she turned away from him and coughed up blood then spit it out onto the concrete feeling her throat start to heal. “Nothing I couldn’t handle.” She rasped as she turned back to look at him.
“That’s not what I asked.” He pointed out as his eyes took in the red healing marks on her face that went from the corners of her mouth to her ears.
“He staked my hands to the desk with pencils...gagged me with a cloth soaked in vervain.” She answered, still feeling weak from the vervain in her system. “He did the same to Caroline.”
“Why do you seem worse off than Caroline?” he asked.
“I swallowed a lot of vervain in the process of chewing through the gag. She just breathed it in and got some on her face.” she admitted.
Klaus sighed. “I wanted you to help us, but you’re in no condition to take on Alaric and I can’t give you my blood in case it interferes with the effectiveness of Bonnie’s blood that we all drank.” She could see him contemplating what to do. “If I ask you to go to Caroline’s where it’s safe and stay there till I say otherwise, will you?”
“Yeah.” She nodded then grabbed his chin in her hand like he did to her so often. “Watch your back in there.”
He gave her a quick kiss. “Go.”

They were sitting in Caroline’s living room both watching, but not really paying attention to, “Say Yes To The Dress” when Caroline’s phone started ringing and she answered it with lightning speed. “We didn’t take down Alaric, but I did use the spell on Klaus.” Bonnie told her and Katie felt her heart sink to the pit of her stomach. “I stopped his heart. He’s desiccated just like Mikael was. Damon and Stefan are taking him somewhere to hide him from Alaric.”
“Okay.” Caroline said looking at Katie with wide, sorry eyes.
“Okay?” Bonnie asked with a happy laugh. “I just took down Klaus. You could sound a little happier.” Caroline couldn’t be happy when Katie had been hurt yet again.
“I’m happy, Bonnie, it’s just been a long day.” Caroline told her as she watched Katie take a deep breath and stand from the couch and disappear into Caroline’s room.
After hanging up with Bonnie, Caroline went to Katie and found her staring out of the window with her arms crossed, a flat face and a distant look in her eyes. “Are you okay?”
“Do you know how many times I have thought about running away from this town?” Katie asked, not really answering the question.
“Probably a lot. Especially here recently.” Caroline answered as she walked over to her bed and sat down.
“We were going to leave town together. He was going to get me out of this stupid town that has done nothing but strangle the life out of me. He made me happy.” Katie explained, needing to talk to someone and Caroline was all she had right now. “Every time I find happiness something happens and I lose it.” Katie still looked out the window instead of at Caroline.
“I know you're sad, but-” Caroline started.
“That’s the thing, Care…” Katie cut her off with a shake of her head. “I’m not sad…I’m tired. So tired, that I can’t even feel sad about Klaus. I don’t feel anything really, I’m just…numb. Like getting a tattoo. It hurts at first, but eventually after so many stabs, you can’t even feel it.”
“And that’s completely understandable given everything you have been though.” Caroline told her with tears in her eyes. “I wish I could have done a better job of being there for you, but it wasn’t just Elena keeping me and Bonnie from you. I mean, yeah she was in the wrong, she started it, but you’ve always pushed us away and shut down when things get hard.” Katie started picking at her cuticles still looking out the window. “When your parent’s died…or left, or whatever, you didn’t talk to any of us for like a year.”
“I think I blacked that out of my memory.” Katie told her honestly as she looked at Caroline.
“Well I didn’t. You…all of us need to stop pushing each other away and stick together like friends are supposed to.” Caroline was at her peak when she was giving people lectures. “If you are not ready to forgive Elena and Bonnie any time soon I will completely understand, but please do me a favor and forgive me and stop pushing me away. We learned to ride bikes together, we turned together and we were tortured together today and I will not stop being your friend even when you tell me to. Do you understand me?”
“Yes, Caroline, I understand you and I forgive you.” Katie told her as the smallest of smiles pulled at the corner of her mouth, but it looked half assed. “Just…do me a favor and don’t tell anyone about me and Klaus for now?”
“Promise.” Caroline told her and held out her pinky. Katie shook her head and hooked her pinky through Caroline’s then dropped her hand. “So do you love him?” Caroline asked, being intrusive Caroline.
“Honestly?” Katie asked then shrugged up her shoulders. “I don’t have a freaking clue what love is anymore.”
Before Caroline could ask another question her phone started ringing.
It was Jeremy calling to let her know that Elena had passed out and he brought her to the hospital. But now he needed help getting her out of the hospital before Alaric or an original came after her. So Katie and Caroline got into Caroline's car and headed to the hospital where they met up with Matt and Tyler and they got Elena out of the hospital.

"Couch." Caroline barked at Elena as they all walked into Elena's house.
"I'm fine. I just want something to eat first." Elena assured the smothering Caroline who gave Katie a look.
"How is it that you can boss people around with a single look?" Katie asked Caroline as she headed towards the kitchen.
"Cause I've got skills." Caroline told her, making Katie shake her head. "You, couch." Katie heard Caroline bark at Elena again before Katie disappeared into the kitchen.
She had just finished putting together a sandwich when Caroline came into the kitchen. "Tyler and I have to go, our moms need to talk to us, they said it’s urgent. Are you and Matt okay to keep an eye on Elena until Stefan gets here?"
"Yeah, of course, go." Katie told her so she headed out.
"She's asleep." Matt announced as he passed Caroline on his way into the kitchen.
"Then I will stick this in the icebox for later." Katie sighed and put the sandwich in the fridge.
"For what it’s worth I think what Elijah did to you sucks.” Matt told her honestly.
“How do you even know about that?” she asked with a shake of her head.
“Girls talk.” He told her with an amused smirk.
Katie sighed and shook her head. "I’m going to go find something to keep myself busy, laundry or anything. Holler if an original or a history teacher turned vampire shows up.” She told him and he nodded as she started to leave the kitchen, but stopped and turned back “And Matt…"
“Yeah?” he asked looking up at her from the bar.
“Thanks.” He just gave her a nod.
She was painting what used to be Jenna and Alaric’s room out of the need to do something when she heard Stefan come in. Not wanting to see him she kept painting.
After finishing a wall she decided to go down stairs and check on things and she was halfway down the stairs when an all too familiar feeling in the pit of her stomach made her stop and the doorbell rang. Elena happened to be walking by and grabbed the door knob. "Elena don't-" but before she could finish the sentence Elena pulled the door open revealing Elijah on the other side “open that.” she finished with a sigh. He looked at Elena before his eyes found Katie still standing on the stairs. "I swear…I’m stuck in Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events." she grumbled breaking eye contact with him. “I need booze.” She headed to the kitchen where Stefan was chopping something and Matt was setting out plates on the dining table. "Elijah alert." She told them as she grabbed a bottle of tequila, a shot glass and a salt shaker. While Stefan and Matt went to the door Katie set down at the table, poured a shot then licked her hand between her thumb and forefinger and shook some salt onto the wet spot.
Elijah came in and sat down at the table and Elena sat down a few seats away from him. Katie didn’t look at him as she licked the salt off her hand then threw back the shot. Needing to get away from Elijah she grabbed the salt shaker and bottle and started to leave the room. “You should probably stay here.” Stefan told her and she stopped. “We might need your help.”
“I can listen from another room and shout if I have something to add.” She told him then went into the living room and sat down on the couch with her back facing the dining room.
Elena called Damon and put him on speaker phone. “All we need is to take that stake away from him.” Elijah started talking. “Once he’s been disarmed and the weapon’s in my possession my family will scatter to the ends of the earth. And Alaric…will follow us.”
“And you’ll just…run?” Stefan asked and Katie heard someone pull a chair out and sit down.
“We’ve done it before.” Elijah answered.
“And it’s what he’s best at.” Katie chipped in without meaning to.
She heard a chair move and footsteps head her way as Elijah kept talking. “Klaus and Rebekah spent the better part of a thousand years evading my father.” Stefan took the bottle of Tequila out of her hand and replaced it with a bottle of water. Katie gave him a sneer, but uncapped the water knowing she was being immature and now wasn’t the time. “What’s another half century while Elena’s able to live out the rest of her natural life?”
Katie downed the bottle of water then went into the kitchen and grabbed another one out of the fridge. “We finally stopped him, Elijah. After everything he’s done to us I can’t just let you bring him back.” Elena told Elijah who glanced at Katie as she pulled herself up to sit in the corner of the kitchen cabinets.
“I give you my word, Elena.” He sat up straighter in the chair. “I will not revive Klaus within yours, nor even within your children’s lifetimes.” Elena just stared at him and he fidgeted with the place setting in front of him. “Perhaps it’ll finally teach him some manners.” He didn’t miss when Katie’s nostrils flared and she bit her lips closed to keep herself quiet.
“Why should she trust you?” Matt asked as he walked over to the end of the table and put his hands on the back of the chair. “All you’ve done is screw her over.”
“And for that, I am deeply ashamed.” Elijah told him then looked at Katie who dropped her eyes to the floor and started picking at her cuticles. “But know this. Elena could have been dead the instant I walked through that door tonight. So, Elena, I leave it to you to make the decision whether to trust me or not.”
“Not!” Damon said over the phone. “Hello! Did that concussion give you brain damage? His lunatic siblings will kill you the first chance they get.”
“Rebekah and Kol will honor the terms.” Elijah told him then looked at Elena. “If you return Klaus’ body to us Elena will come to no harm.” Elena and Stefan looked at each other. “Do we have a deal?”
“No!” Damon yelled. “No, no, no, no. Did I mention, no!” Katie couldn’t help smirking at him.
Stefan sighed and shook his head. “Elena, it’s up to you.”
“Oh, come on!” Damon yelled.
“Why do you want Klaus’ body?” Elena asked, ignoring Damon.
“He’s my brother.” Elijah answered with a shrug. “We remain together.”
Elena looked down in thought then over at Katie. “Don’t look at me.” Katie told her with her hands held up. “We all know my judgment sucks when it comes to him.”
Elena sighed then looked at Elijah. “We have a deal.”
After that they started working out a plan. Jeremy would tell Alaric a false location and lure Alaric out into the woods where Elijah, Katie, Stefan, Jeremy and Caroline would disarm him then run.
Most of them whooshed to the location, but Jeremy and Stefan drove. Katie was leaning against a tree, waiting for Alaric to show up when Elijah walked over and leaned against the other side of the tree. “Where is your necklace?” he asked the first thing that popped into his head and she didn’t answer him. “So you’re just going to ignore me?” Stefan, Caroline and Jeremy moved away from them, giving them space.
She thought about telling him she destroyed it in a food processor or threw it into Wickery Falls, but she just didn’t have it in her to fight with him. “Go away.” He walked around her and looked into her eyes. The sadness in his dark browns managed to strike a tightly wound cord and when he tried to cup her cheek in his hand the cord snapped. She knocked his hand away with lightning speed and backhanded him across the face. He kept his head turned as she walked around him and over to Caroline.
“You okay?” Caroline mouthed at her and Katie shook her head no and shrugged.

They were still waiting for Alaric to show up when Stefan got a call from Damon. “Bad news brother.” Katie heard Damon say, eavesdropping on them. “Alaric staked Klaus. He’s dead.” Katie’s heart fell to the pit of her stomach and a lump formed in her throat.
“I feel okay.” Stefan told him. “Do you feel anything?”
“No.” Damon answered.
“It took Sage about an hour before she got sick.” Stefan pointed out.
“Yeah, or Klaus was lying about being the sire of our bloodline.” Damon countered.
“Well, if he wasn’t lying…an hour’s not enough time to get you all the way back to Mystic Falls.”
Katie stopped listening, knowing that Klaus wouldn’t lie to her, and stumbled back into the tree behind her. Elijah had been keeping an eye on her and saw her shock. He and Caroline whooshed over. “What happened?” he asked.
Stefan didn’t answer right away. “Stefan?” Caroline asked worried.
“Klaus is dead.” He told them with watery eyes.
“Tyler.” Caroline sighed and whooshed away.
Elijah looked at Katie. She tried to walk away, but he grabbed her hand and pulled her into him.
While he hugged her and a few tears slipped down his cheeks, she just stood there not hugging him back or crying for the life she was about to lose. She literally felt nothing, not even his arms around her or the wind that blew her hair as he let her go and tucked a lock of it behind her ear.
Stefan and Jeremy left to be home when Matt brought Elena back home from his and Jeremy’s stupid secret get-Elena-away-from-vampires mission while Elijah waited for Rebekah and Katie stared off into space, leaning against a tree again. Elijah’s phone chimed and he looked down at it then back at Katie with a confused look. “Tyler Lockwood is dead, yet you are still alive.” She lifted her eye up to look at him. “I don’t understand how you are not dead.” Katie just shrugged.
After a while they heard the whoosh of wind and Elijah turned from the silent Katie to see a teary eyed Rebekah. “He’s gone, Elijah. There was nothing I could do to stop it.” Elijah walked over to her and hugged her.
“Tyler Lockwood is dead, but the rest survived. You said that Niklaus turned their bloodline.” Elijah told her.
“I thought he did.” Rebekah told him.
“It wasn’t me. It wasn’t Kol.” Elijah stated.
“It wasn’t me, Elijah. It was Niklaus, I’m sure of it.” Rebekah insisted.
“Then how are they still alive?” Elijah asked.
Rebekah looked over Elijah’s shoulder at Katie who didn’t seem to be on the same planet as them. “Why is she so quiet?”
Elijah turned and looked at her with narrowed eyes. “I think she is in shock.” Katie, who hadn’t been listening to them, closed her eyes and pushed it all back, every heartache, every bit of anger, everything that weighed on her, until something in her mind clicked and everything floated away. A content sigh left her lips. “No.” Elijah said, feeling what just happened through the shift in her energy that always flowed through their link that he was thankful didn’t just break.
“No?” Rebekah asked, confused. “No what?”
Elijah just watched as Katie opened her eyes.

Chapter Nineteen: The One With the New Way
Warnings: N/A
Word Count: 3596
the very first time a boy asked lily out was way back in high school. close to twenty years ago. he was a sweet kid, a year older than the blonde. he was fairly popular, no quarterback but people knew his name. michael parvish. a dashing man. he had dark sandy blonde curls, bright aquamarine eyes. a smart kid, he was in a few of lily's advanced classes. he had asked her to go to the homecoming with him and grab dinner before hand. lily, being lily, was absolutely terrified of it. but gen had managed to convince the blonde to say yes, so she did. she knew a lot of girls had a crush on the boy, and lily wouldn't deny she did to. he was beautiful, and she prayed the inside reflected what the outside had.
they dated for four months, before michael moved away to iowa for his fathers job.
the second time was when she was in grade eleven. a senior had taken a keen interest in the girl, and made a move. he was a baseball player, and also very attractive. dark chocolate skin that would shine in the light. amber eyes that made lily feel weak in the knees most of the time. he was sweet, a bit shy, but quite charming. they dated until lily graduated and moved to new york city. he had moved out to california for baseball, and she had no desire to move to that state or go to school there. so they parted ways after two years.
the saying goes that third times the charm. well, that wasn't exactly lily's fate. the third time she was swept off her feet was in her days as university student.  a tall, built, gorgeous student with a smile that made lily feel like there was no one else around her. he was two years older than her and an engineering student. girls would fall at his feet, yet he would always end up back at lily's door after a party. they wouldn't do anything, merely sit and talk. it was sweet and euphoric. the two seemed to get on perfectly.
his name was scott harvey. and he was not the prince charming she believed he would be.
she had been romanced and asked out a few times after the divorce from scott. but she always said a simple "no thank you, I'm not dating right now." she would refuse any sort of affection or charm from any sort of man. one of gen's staff, elijah, had come the closest. he was kind and good with hunter, but lily didn't really feel anything. so all together, lily had only really experienced a relationship three times, each for a substantial period of time. but she supposed a part of her knew each of them wouldn't be the one. scott was the only one she was slightly convinced would be her last. lord, was she wrong.
but now? lily had an opportunity sitting in her lap. or should she say, leaning over her. an opportunity with a scruffy beard and steel blue eyes. dark hair dancing in front of those said eyes, and a cold metal arm attached to him. and danger. threat came with her opportunity. she was willing to take that risk, knowing he would never let anything happen. but her heart hesitated slightly at the thought. she knew she had told him any girl would be lucky to have someone like him, and here she was, that said girl.
"doll?" he whispered, "you look like you've seen a ghost..."
"hm? oh," lily smiled weakly, "sorry. just caught me by surprise a bit." she hummed, tucking a stray piece of blonde hair behind her ear.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked." bucky mumbled, going to push off the wall and stand at full height.
but her hands caught his waist. she tugged him forward, gripping the toned midsection tightly as she pressed a soft and careful kiss to his slightly chapped lips. the tickle of his scruff sent butterflies down through the girls stomach, but she knew her answer. she knew it before he even really asked. the hesitation far from her head as she looked back up at him, lips separating with a faint noise. gentle breaths fanning the others face as bucky scanned her features, attempting to sleuth out her answer.
"yes, bucky," she whispered, playing with her bottom of his navy blue henley, "I will be your girlfriend." the blonde concluded, giggling at the bright grin that spread across his lips.
a bit of a weight seemed to release itself from the bulk of lily's shoulders as the words left her lips. the clear elation in the mans eyes helping warm her heart, and create a sense of ease with her decision. he was the right one for her, she knew it. the way he would hold her and the way he would kiss her. how his hands found their way through her hair easily, and managed to make her feel whole again after years of being shattered and broken. how he seemed to adopt hunter right away in a way a father would a son. god...the way he acted with hunter. so soft and gentle, so loving, accepting. everything.
"come on then, let's go wait out this little party and then head to your place. just the three of us,  hm?" he cooed, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
"oh didn't I tell you...they're all coming back for dinner!"
        "...dear god."
-----
honestly she wasn't sure why she had actually added that there would be a dinner when everyone came back to her home after the tour. she didn't necessarily like any of the parents that would be coming back. the only reason she could think of was the fact that hunter adored the kids, as did lily. plus, a selfish part of her wanted to show all of them that she can be a successful doctor and be able to afford a comfortable life for her and her son without the help of a spouse or anything like that. lily knew it wasn't right of her to think like that, but she felt the urge to sort of...well, rub it in their faces that she had done well. despite the amount of obstacles that had been placed as roadblocks for her to swerve around.
"so what's on the menu, lily." jill hummed as she found herself perched on one of the barstools at the kitchen island of lily's home. that same condescending smile still as evident as ever on her face.
"pancakes." the blonde countered, pulling out the ingredients, "it was all in the invitation." she continued, smiling tightly at the woman, "buck could you go downstairs and check on the kids for me?"
"sure, doll." the man behind her cooed and placed a gentle kiss to her cheek before wandering off from the kitchen. she caught him toss a look over his shoulder, as though he wanted to double check she did want him to actually leave her with the group of petty, uptight, parents that she so despised.
lily was still lily. she was still shy and quiet and non-confrontational. now becoming the official girlfriend of bucky barnes wasn't going to change her personality. she didn't enjoy being alone with these people, but she still  needed to be able to stand on her own two feet. still be able to handle situations herself if things went south. she prayed they didn't, and she knows if they did she would have put herself in that position. she would have caused the problem for herself. and though she knew this, she had still sent him. lily figured it was better late than nevre to learn how to handle her own messes if they arose.
"nice place you have here." thomas commented, sipping on a water, "I don't think any of us have actually ever been in your house before. other than our kids of course. I suppose we weren't all expecting it."
lily felt herself grin slightly as she mixed the ingredients together, blowing a piece of stray blonde hair from her face as her arm worked. she knew they were expecting something smaller, messier even. but lily was proud of where she had ended up. if there was anything in the world that lily actually found confidence in, it would be the life she had built for herself and her son. even when she was married to scott, it was mostly just her and hunter. lily wore herself thin but she wanted hunter to grow up in a happy place, or as happy as she could make it. she couldn't make up for the absentee father or the lack of quality time he had with his dad. but she tried her best to substitute that with as much love from her as she could. all while managing and juggling schooling, chasing her dreams, and ensuring that there was always a stock fridge and cupboard. and now, she found herself in their dream home with a dream dog, and a newly found relationship that created a warm and domestic environment for everyone.
"thank you thomas," lily smiled, placing her hands on her baby blue polka-dot clad and navy blue cardigan clad waist, tilting her head, "got a great deal for it.  and then hunt and I made it our own." she explained, glancing over at rose who leaned on the wall with a raised eyebrow at the kindness of the group.
"but have you ever considered finding someone? like for real," jill piped up, "not this little daydream fantasy you have with bucky barnes of all people." she scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest.
lily froze as she poured the batter into the cast iron griddle she had. she felt the air in the room disappear as she finished pouring the batter. glancing up, she tucked one of the loose blonde strands of her hair behind her ear and tilted her head at the woman in front of her. of course jill would be the one who would try to continue to poke at lily in her own home. there were so many things that she wanted to say. so many insults and retorts. but her words got caught in her throat. her chest tightened and stomach twisted. sweat glands opened and the saliva in her mouth ceased to exist. her eyes blurred and a warm feeling gathered at the waterline. the room around her slowly began to bend inward and she had to take a step backwards. she dropped her spoon and cleared her throat, attempting to compose herself.
"why don't you go see if the kids are okay, bucky's been down for a few minutes." rose stepped in, placing her hand on her sisters shoulder, grounding her.
stepping away without a word, lily tugged at the knit sleeve of her cardigan. attempting to let air inside of what felt like restraints. tugging at the small buttons as she walked down the stairs, lily tried to steady her breath. ripping the material off of her body, she threw open the basement door and proceeded to jog down the rest of the stairs towards where she heard laughing voices and one deep gruff one telling a story.  the sounds of his and her sons voices melting together had her heart slow, and her breathing regulate. she gripped onto the wall and let out a gentle sigh. the rough feeling of the drywall reminded her where she was as the feeling of bile subsided from her throat.
"lily?" bucky's voice cooed as he walked over to her, hand finding it's way to her waist to rub gentle circles onto her hip, "you okay?"
"yeah, yeah I'm okay. rose just took over the cooking. just needed a minute," she whispered, leaning her head back against the corner of the wall, "how're the kids?"
"they're good, doll," he hummed, running a flesh finger down her face, "they were jus' asking about the final battle a few years ago..." he trailed off, eyes falling down to his feet. lily smiled softly and placed her hand on the scruffy side of his cheek, "I dodged the question, I'm not sure I'm ready to talk about it just yet with hunter...the things I did lily I-"
reaching upward, lily placed a soft kiss to the mans slightly chapped lips, "it's okay love, it's okay." she whispered, "let's head back upstairs if you're ready, to make sure rose doesn't end up cooking jill instead."
sliding his metal arm into the girls hand, the two made their way back up the stairs, only to have a small and gentle tug at the bottom of lily's skirt catch her attention. both glancing back, she saw a familiar head of blonde smiling up at the two softly and they turned around to look down at the young boy.
"is it okay with you guys if luke and finn stay the night?" he whispered, smiling up at the two of them shyly.
lily's heart grew so large she believed it would completely burst from her chest. he didn't just ask her. no, he asked both of them. he asked her and bucky if they were okay if his friends stayed the night. the tears found their way to her waterline once more as she looked up at bucky, who had the same awestruck look on his face. something inside of him seemed to click as he looked down at the young boy in front of the two. hunter had asked bucky and lily. the two of them. as a pair. she smiled softly and bit on her knuckle, before turning back to bucky again.
"what do you say bucky," lily grinned, "you okay if hunter has some friends stay the night?"
        "sure buddy, why not."
-----
a few hours later, when most of the kids had cleared out and the parents alongside them, lily finally let out a relieved breath. bucky, rose, and her were clearing the paper plates and wiping up the messes from the syrup and cleaning the wrapping paper. hunter, luke, and finn were bustling upstairs in the young boys room, no doubt playing with all of his collectable items. lily stood herself up straight and smiled softly, looking around at the slightly messy living room. chuckling gently, she shook her head and pinched the bridge of her nose.
"they're twelve, why do their parents need to come?" lily laughed, picking up a wine glass jill had used, "I understand the tour part but for dinner? god, some parents." she sighed, walking to the kitchen and putting it in the dishwasher.
"I think most of them just wanted to hear if the rumours were true," rose commented, collecting the last piece of wrapping paper, "if you were dating the one and only winter soldier." she teased, bumping her shoulder against the broad man.
"as embarrassing as that is," bucky jousted back, "I'm with rose on this one, doll." he agreed, tying the black garbage bag.
"about time you learned that I am always right, barnes." rose chuckled, stretching her arms back, "alright I'm heading upstairs. keep it down tonight, I have an early meeting tomorrow."
the moment rose's door shut as she walked up the stairs, bucky's arms found themselves wrapped around lily's waist. his lips pressed to the corner of her jaw, eliciting a giggle to escape from the same place. shaking her head, lily shimmied from his grip to finish cleaning up the counter. only to find herself reattached to his chest. leaning her head back onto his shoulder, lily cocked an eyebrow up at him, wondering what he was getting at.
"do you remember our first kiss?" he whispered, "we were right here. the night of the party. you had made us coffee. we were looking at the picture of you right after giving birth." he cooed, hand splaying across her stomach, "that's the most beautiful picture of you I have ever seen." he continued, fingers drawing small circles on her lower stomach.
lily remembered that night so vividly. both because of the events that had lead up to it, but also because of the way he kissed her. so gentle and soft, how it lingered after. the pressure becoming a familiar pleasure to her in the weeks to ensue. it was a night to remember, that was for sure. in more way than one. the morning after may have become her favourite memory to revisit somedays. seeing bucky pouring cereal at the table for a sleepy hunter. engrossed in their own conversations before lily had come down. she wished she could have frozen that moment and lived in it forever. but she knew better now, because those events were all the product of her parents own misfortunes and her son being in a spot of danger.
"alexa, play songs from the fourties." his voice cooed, eliciting an agreement from the machine. soft swing music played through the kitchen and lily shook her head.
"were you this much of a charmer back then as well,  james?" she teased, spinning around in his arms and placing her own around his neck.
"much more of a player," he admitted, swaying gently to the music, "steve says I was a real lady killer. I think I was just trying to find the perfect fit." bucky whispered, leaning his forehead down onto lily's, "I had short hair back then too."
"oh I know. we learned about you in our history books," she chuckled, gazing into his deep eyes, "you were a real heart throb for a while in my class."
"yeah? what'd you think of the short hair, doll?" he purred, ghosting his lips against hers.
reaching her hand upwards, and tangling her supple fingers in the strands of dark hair, she smiled, "I like it long. but I did have a massive crush on you with short hair." she admitted, swaying her hips along with the music.
"well lucky for you," he chuckled, "I have a haircut tomorrow. now I know what I'm going to do with it." bucky winked, sliding his arms away from her waist, "I'll see you upstairs, doll."
lily stood breathless as she watched bucky turn and walk up the stairs, sending her a quick wink before disappearing around the corner into her bedroom. her chest heaved up and down as the music continued to play faintly in the background. mostly all she could hear was the pounding of her own heart playing a melody in her ears. blood pumping like madness as she tried to digest the idea of her being able to see him with short hair in real life. it excited her. but what mostly left her gasping for air, was the way his hand ran along her lower stomach. rubbing gentle circles as they talked about her pregnancy and the possibility of a family.
he wanted a family. with her.
stopping the music, lily collected her thoughts. okay, yeah so she was now in a relationship with him. a serious, adult, relationship. something she had hid herself away from for years. yet she couldn't escape him. and the idea of kids...well lily's heart skipped a beat. she'd love to have more, but she was slightly scared with hunter. it had always been the two of them, and she was worried if even bucky was pushing it. but then she remembered the moment from earlier, when he had asked both of them for permission. bucky was slowly but surely taking that father like role that hunter had been missing. that kindness and similarities that lily couldn't necessarily make up for.
letting out a breath, she walked up the stairs and beckoned joey to follow. just as she went to open her bedroom door, she heard faint voices seeping through hunters door. biting her lip, she tip toed towards the white wooden entrance and leaned her ear up against it softly.
"mr. barnes is so cool." luke's voice rang as she listened in. a smile creeping onto her lips.
"yeah!" finn's voice chimed in, "is he like your step-dad or something?"
lily's breath caught in her throat. this could go two very different ways. and she was terrified it would go the way that would result in the end of whatever her and bucky had. if hunter didn't like bucky, or didn't think of him in that way, lily would have read the entire situation wrong. meaning she would have to completely rethink her choices.
"not really. he's like a father figure though," hunter responded, "more than my dad was. plus he also makes my mom happy. we get along well and yeah...I guess I sort of see him like a step dad now that I say it out loud," he continued. and lily felt her entire world become complete at his words. "dude did you just crap yourself?"
dropping her head, lily let out a gentle laugh before turning and walking back towards her own room. opening the door, she saw bucky laying under the covers with the tv on, watching some documentary about who knows what. changing into her pyjama shorts and a loose shirt, lily washed her face and let her hair down before climbing under the soft covers and turning towards bucky. a surge of confidence rang through her. when he caught her eyes though...
well she just couldn't help herself.
she just prayed she stayed quiet enough for rose not to razz her about it.
