i have to write down what im gonna say to my counselor because i genuinely have to make sure i have all of my thoughts straightened out so i dont blank like i always do
ok
my sister moved out on friday and saturday. it feels easier than last time, but it still doesnt feel right. like, i look at my clock when it's almost 4 and i think "oh, my brother will be home soon" and then it reaches 5 and im like "oh, my sister will be home soon" but they never arrive. its a sad realization every time but... yeah. i hung out with my sister and her friend on friday when my sister started moving. her friends personality is very... big, loud, but she can't help it so i dont mind it. my mood went from reserved -> opening up -> starting to be myself -> shut down. like, i was fine until i jokingly said "you have friends?" to my brother, when i know that he does..., and he said "i have more than you" and then he said that my online friends dont count. which, sure... i dont leave my house to see and hang out with them, but they're still friends; i still hang out with them somehow. idk, it just made me feel like .... idk what the word is.... it was just on the spot, and the way everyone was looking at me.. its like i was scared. not like anxiety-scared, but scared-scared. i dont really know why, though? i mean, actually.... i do have a bf and it kinda felt like they were invalidating that (even though they dont know about it and actually only .... hmm.... a few people know aobut it but i digress) but other than that, i dont really get it? it felt like they thought i was just being overdramatic when i said "they dont really hang out with me though" . ANYWAY yeah, i felt sad after that and like my walls went up too. on saturday i dont remember anything significant happening.. ijust remember i worked that day. i worked sunday too. after work on sunday, i have a lot of time because i had an early shift. i started to clean up all of the clothes i have everywhere. i mean, i guess i did alright, but my room still isnt clean somehow so. oh, also late that night i tried moving my bed into my sisters old room and i couldnt drag it like i could my other mattresses because theres a protector on it, so i got my bed, like, stuck and i slept on the floor of my sisters old room LOL it was kinda nice though. monday my brother got the bed in the room and it was nice. i put my desk in this room too. i dont have many of my things in here. i like how little things r in here. sometimes when i have too much stuff in a space i feel like so.... panicked. idk. i like how empty it feels in here. i might never put the rest of my stuff in here lol. uhh and then tuesday (yesterday) i worked as usual. i was talking with my old coworker though about life n stuff and she mentioned how she was looking for a roommate for when she rents and appartment and i offered to be her roommate so thats something now. i havent told anyone else about it because i feel like my mom and dad would be like pissed off which.... doesnt make a lot of sense to me because im less than 3 weeks away from being 18 and i told her i wouldnt rlly be able to move in until early september because of my surgery but anyway.... it makes me anxious to think aobut anyway because i dont have a license UHHH so ... itll be so hard getting to and from my appts and going to and from work. so thats kinda stresful but yeah that was my week. so much to talk about!!!
i stg me talking abt all of this is going to leave me with 45+ minutes to fill because all of this is like nothing LOLLLl

Reader finds out she`s pregnant with Arthur`s child
@jaraysha1121 requested this one! Thank you so much for the lovely request!!! I really, really, really hope you will like the result :)
Arthur humming quietly into your ear was the perfect way to wake up in the morning. Smelling his hair, that felt tickelish into your face while he kissed you awake was. You just wished that all of this, his bed hair in the morning, him humming oldies in the kitchen while making coffee, his skin on yours at night, would never come to end end.
You have been together for one year now but it felt like you had known him before the beginning of time. Having him in your arms felt like holding the entire universe in your hands. Like anything was possible and there was nothing that you weren`t able to face together. Arthur was your muse, your inspiration. Your proof that no matter how cruel life has been to you, there is still hope to stay gentle at heart and to end up being loved. It was just the same the other way around. You ended up being Arthurs salvation. His soul mate. Everything he ever hoped for and daydreamed about. You and him. It was just fate.
"Hey Y/N. I made you some tea. I hope you feel better this morning? I noticed you couldnt find sleep tonight?" He handed you the cup "Careful, its still very hot." You took a careful sip and put it back on the table. " Arthur crawled back on the couch with you, so you took him under the green blanket. He softly kissed your cheek.
"Um...yeah well I feel better now" you lied.  You didnt wanted him to be worried about you, since Arthur worried about you a lot. Whenever he thought there was the slightest chance for you to get sick or cold or anthing that made you feel uncomforable. He would ask you every five minutes if you already felt better, which was beyond adorable, but still, you didnt wanted him to get worried, because after a while he tended to get nervous and anxious , and that wasnt good for his mental health and insomnia at all. So yo decited to try to hide it from him. But he just knew you so well.
"Are you sure, baby? You seem like there is something wrong? You didnt even ate your fave cookies yesterday. The plate is still full so... I got evidence!" He joked and pulled your nose. "No, I`m fine, Artie, really. I mean.I just woke up beside you. How on earth wouldnt I feel great?" You took another sip of tea.
"Yeah..." Arthur lit himself a cig and stared at the ceiling while his arm was wrapped around you "You know, I just wish we could do this more often. The sleepover.  But its very diffucult to hide you from my mother. I dont know how she would react if she knew that a girl was sleeping in the living room."
You nodded. It was obvious that Arthur loved his mum but he was also afraid to get into a confrontation with her. He would only confront her with anything if there was absolutely no other way to handle it. So you sneaked into his apartment when Penny was already asleep.
"Sooo what if she just wakes up and walks through the living room? She will notice me for sure."
Arthur shook his head while he took a deep drag of his cig "She will not wake up".
"What do you mean?"
"She took some sleeping pills yesterday. Well... I made her do it but...anyway..." he stroke your hair "Dont worry abut that okay? She will still be asleep for the next few hours for sure. And even if she will wake up, she would be so confused, you could just hide under the blanket and she wouldnt notice anything."
"I see... you thought of anything didnt you? I wonder what she would sayif she knew there was a girl on the couch."
Arthur leaned in to kiss your ear "Just think of what she would do if she knew what I did with this girl last night...?!"
You smirked "Yeah that was definitely helping with feeling better."
"So what do you think she would do?"
"She would tell you you`re a naughty boy"
Arthur put the cig in his pink ashtray and  kissed you passionately.
"Yeah...being naughty is fun isnt it?"
You nodded under the sweet pressure of his lips.
You tried to be as quiet as possible, even though he claimed that Penny wouldnt wake up.  She was still in the back of your mind. There was something about the thought of being caught that you really liked.
Arthur checked the clock "Oh. I gotta go to work now. I`m pretty late. " He got up from the couch and grabbed his clown gear. You stood up to change your clothes as you realized how your head was spinning. Arthur didnt noticed. He was distracted by checking his bag.  " We`ll see each other on Monday, right?"
"Yeah, sure. I will visit  when you get home from work. "
Arthur grabbed the keys "Great. I cant wait to see you again, sweetheart. Any plans for today?"
You opened teh door "Yeah I will visit my best friend over the weekend. We`ll be watching movies and stuff."
You both headed down the hallway and got into the elevator "Sounds like fun" Arthur smiled at you with so much love in his eyes. His tiney wrinkles made you want to cover his beautiful face with kisses.
"What?" he asked as he noticed you staring.
"Nothing....its just...I love you so god damn much!"
Arthurs cheeks turned red "Dito!" he said, gently touching your cheek before you said goodbye. You watched him running towards the subway station. He was really late.
Being in the elevator a minute ago made your dizzyness even worse. You closed your eyes for a moment, wondering if you might catched the flu. You felt sick to the stomach for about three days now and it didnt seemed to get any better.  Hopefully it wouldnt ruin the whole weekend. You knew that your best friend bought sweets and cake but you didnt felt like eating anything at all.
Thirty minutes later you arrived. Your best friend welcomed you with the warmest hug. She was the only one who accepted your love to Arthur. Most of your other friends thought he was weird for his laughter and for still living with his mother at the age of 35. You started to realize that some of those people didnt even deserved your friendship, especially they didnt deserved to get to know the wonderful man that Arthur was.
"Hey Y/N ! I`m glad you`re here. I`ve planned something for tonight. You will be excited to hear about it. How is Arthur doing?"
You got out of your jacket and sat down on the couch "He`s doing fine. Thank you for asking. He`s on some new meds and they are much better than the last ones he had."
"I`m happy to hear this. But you kno what his best medicine is? YOU. Imean it. He looks so much healthier since the two of you meet each other on a regular basis."
Hearing those words coming out of her mouth meants the world to you "Thank you so much. I appriciate that. The others dont understand...."
"Pffff" she headed to the kitchen and came back with a huge self made pizza "Dont listen to them. They are idiots. Every single one of them. Arthur is a nice guy and he is good for you. I can see the way you look at each other. There is so much love between you."
"Yeah. I really do love him. More than anything. I think he`s my soulmate."You smiled "I understand him.  And he gets me. We get each other. We dont even have to say anything. Its just....we know. We`re the same. "
"Heyyyyy check this out" she put the huge pizza on the table in front of you "Its self made. i`m kinda proud. We will kill this delicios thing this evening. What do you think?"
Just looking at the food made you feel sick again "Um.....yeah thats....great. It looks delicious"
Your friend put her hand on your forehead "Y/N. You look kinda pale."
"Yeah...I dont feel so well....its been this way for half a week now. I can barely eat something and I feel dizzy at times and just....weird. Like...I dont know my body and mind feel funny and....I dont know....I havent slept for days..." you started crying.
"Ohhh noooo why are you crying? Is there anything going on with Arthur you wouldnt tell me?"
You wiped a tear away "No. No really. He is fine. I`m just very sensitive these days. I`m not sure why.... maybe it was all to much with the others not respecting Arthur as my boyfriend. ...I dont know....Just stressed out emotionally I think.. But I will be fine."
Your friend told you  that you didnt have to eat anything if you dont feel like it, but two hours later you decited to give it a try and grabbed a piece of her selfmade pizza. After one slice you felt so bad you coudlnt hide it from your bestie anymore "Oh my god. I think I gotta go to the bathroom" you hurried up and closed the door behind you.
"Y/N? Are you okay in there?"
"Yeah....kinda....just...I`m just sick to the stomach. I think I catched the flu or something. maybe its better for me to go home. I dont want you to get infected."
Ten minutes later you got back into the living room again. She waited for you with a big grin on her face. Why would she make fun of you feeling sick?
"Feeling better?" the grin still lingering on your lips. It kinda hurt you to see her reaction.
"No. I think I`m gonna go home. I think I have to rest until I see Arthur again on Monday.  I dont want to cancel our date. He is looking forward to it. I`m sorry thatI ruined our weekend before it even started...."
She giggled.
"Why are you laughing? Cant you see I`m feeling like shit?"
She pointed at the empty place beside her "Si down Y/N. And calm down for a second. I dont think that you`re ill at all. You feel sick to the stomach, dizzy and emotionally sensitive.....Think about what it might be."
"I dont know what you are talking about!" you yelled
"Oh I see, currently very emotional with your  reactions."
"Yeah go ahead making fun of me" you replied with a dissappointed look on your face.
"Y/N. You and Arthur I mean....you want to stay together right?"
"Of course we do!"
"You love each other to death?"
"Yeah!"
She clapped her hands "So I think Monday will be even more special when he hears the news!"
"Which news?" you still didnt understood what she was all about.
"Y/N. My dear, you might be pregnant with Arthur`s child!"
The very second you heard her saying this your heart just stopped. You tried to think about the symptoms  but all you could think about was Arthur and how he would react if this was really true. You rubbed your dimples, tried to remember how one of your friends felt like when she got pregnant.  It really could be it.
"Oh my god..." you whispered.
"YES great news. I mean....if you really are this would be great news for you, right? Hopefully...I mean...did you talked about that? You and Arthur?"
Concentrating was hard "We did....I mean....a while ago he told me how much he loves kids and that he always wanted to have a family and .....I mean look at him when he is with kids. he would be a great dad. I know he would. "
"And how do YOU feel about it?" she asked.
"I...I`m not sure....I mean...I want to spent the rest of my life with him and...the thought of being a parent is stil kinda scare, isnt it? But...yeah I think I really want to have a kid with Arthur. He is the only man who ever made me feel this way. Its just overwhelming right now. The thought that it might happen NOW. But yeah...I would be happy about it for sure. " you started to cry. Your best friend hugged you tight "Shhhhhtt . Eighter way it will be good. What do you think about going to the pharmacy and get a test right now? So you dont have to ask yourself that question all day?"
You nodded. Knowing would help. You just had to know if your friend was right.
An hour later you couldnt stop your hands from shaking as you got back to your friends apartment. The pregnancy test in your hand felt surreal. You never did such a test before, so you sat down with her to read everything through.
"Are you ready?" she asked you.
You werent sure. How could anyone ever be ready for something like that? Deep down you knew that there was nothing to be afraid of. The more you thought about it, the more you wanted the test to turn out positive. You just felt deep in your heart that Arthur would be happy, too. There was only a slight chance that he would be too overwhelmed and scared. But then again, who wouldnt be?
"No. I`m not ready" you smiled while you said it out loud.
"But you are smiling! Thats a good thing. Take your time. We can do this tonight if you want."
You got up and headed to the bathroom "No. No. I really want to know now.  So I will have more time to think about how I will tell Arthur on Monday."
"Ha! You`re already talking like you are pregnant. I like that" her face lighted up.
And you realized that this was true. Somehow you suddenly felt like you already knew. Like everything was coming together. You imagined Arthur holding your baby for the first time. Imagined his big puppy eyes while trying to make his kid laugh. You already felt the love he was radiating as a dad. Your eyes started watering when you closed the door behind you. You followed the discriptions of the test and waited.
It wasnt long but it felt like a lifetime.
So many scenarios went through your head. Any possible reaction from Arthur. You checked the watch. It was time to take a look at the result. Your heart was beating fast. You didnt even knew how much you wanted a kid with him until now. You hoped for the test to be positive. So much it would even hurt you if it was not the case. This morning you didnt even thought of being a parent and suddenly it was all you could think about. Arthur as a dad. Arthur as the father of your child. What a wonderful life it would be! Not easy, but wonderful and worth living for.
Your shaky hand grabbed the test with eyes closed. One deep breath in. And another.
Okay.
Now.
Now you will know.
Postive. The test was positive. Arthur and you would be parents soon!
You wished for him to be here with you right now. A brief moment you felt regret for not making the test when he was there with you but anyway, you would make sure to surprise him in the sweetest way!
"Ohhh my god, you were right!" you screamed as you got out of teh bathroom "You were right!!!!"
Your friend ran towards you and held you tight "I knew. I just knew. I am so happy for you. Are you happy? You are feeling good, right? Oh my god!"
"Yeah, I...I am happy. So much happier than I thought I would be. I cant wait to tell Arthur the day after tomorrow. God, I dont even know if I can wait until then. But I have to because....I want the surprise to be perfect. And I gotta figure out how I will tell him the news!"
"You`re going to be a great mum Y/N. I just know. And Arthur is going to be the funniest daddy ever!"
You sat down on teh couch, dizzy but happy at heart "Wow,thats just...a lot to think about!"
Your friend told you to rest and made you a cup of tea to calm your stomach.  You realized that life would never be the same again after the kid would be born. But you wanted it. You wanted it all. With him. And him only.
It was so hard to no tell Arthur when he called you the next day. But you wanted to see his face when you told him. You wanted to feel his arms around you and this wasnt possible through the phone, so you waited for Monday evening.
You made sure that you arrived earlier than he would and put the pregnancy test into an envelope, so he would find it as soon as he checked the box for letters. He always did because his mum was waiting on a letter from Thomas Wayne for months now. Standing in the hallway was torture. You checked your watch at least twenty times until he finally arrived. Arthur was still wearing his clown make up. He carried his green wig and clown shoes in his big bag, looking tired. "Ohhhh honey. I`m so glad to be home. It was a long day at HaHas.  There was a kids birthday. I danced for at least three hours. But it was worth it. You should have seen the little boys face! God. I love making kids happy.....Y/N? Are you okay?"
"Arthur!" you jumped into his arms and felt him with all your senses.  "Yes I`m fine. Just so.....good to see you again and I missed you so much!"
A real smile was visible underneath his big, red fake smile "I`m happy to have you in my arms again, too. I missed you the moment you walked out of the elevator two days ago!"
Arhur grabbed his keys to open the letter box. That was the moment. In less than a minute he would know.
"A letter!" he mumbled "Maybe my mum finally gets what she was waiting for ."  He checked the envelope. "Wait....It says For Arthur....there is no stamp and....this is...your handwriting...?" he looked at you. The confused frown on his face made you want to kiss him so bad.
"Open it, darlin. please!"
Arthurs fingers felt that there was something in it.
"Darling, its not even my birthday." he joked "Did you got me a present?" he reached for what was in there and pulled it out.
Arthurs face froze for a moment. No reaction. Just him staring at the test and the little note that said "Soon we`re going to be a family! "
For a second your heart seemed to stop. Why didnt he say anything? Why wasnt he even moving? Was it bad news for him?
The envelope fell down to his feet as he covered his face with his hands. He was crying.
"A-Arthur? Darling?" you took a step closer to him. And another. Until you were able to put your arm around him. His tiney body was shaking.
"Arthur....please say something.
Seeing him cry now was torture. You were looking forward to this moment until you saw the test result and now he was crying in silence. He didnt even looked at you. His beautiful hands just covered his face while he was sobbing like a little boy.
"Oh Arthur, I thought....I really thought this would make you happy, too?!"
Arthur uncovered his face. His puffy eyes glanced at you with love "Are you kidding me Y/N? Of course I am happy. I was never happier in my whole life! Oh my god. I am....I never felt this way before. We are going to be a family! This is all I ever wanted in life. Thank you for making my dream come true!" Arthur fell into your arms. His head resting on your shouders  as tears of happiness ran down his face.
Now you started crying too.
"Oh god, I`m so glad. So reliefed. You`re going to be the best daddy ever. I love you so much, Artie! So incredibly much."
Arthur kissed you softly on the lips. Traces of his clown make up covered the corner of your mouth.
"You know what? Tomorrow I`m taking a day off and we`ll have a beautiful picnic in the park. Just the two of us. Out on a date to celebrate this! And when we`re back home, I´m going to tell my mum!"
You smiled "Your mum didnt even knew you had a girlfriend. She will be shocked."
"So what? Its our life! And our desicion. We will be looking for a new home anyway."
"Yeah" you wiped a curl out of his face.
"C`mon, honey, lets get in and relax for the night."
Arthur took you by the hand and soon you found yourself all cuddled up on the couch. Arthur on your side. Skin on skin. His breath behind your ear. His hand caressing your belly.
"So you think its going to be a boy or a girl?" he asked you while his fingers gently moved in circles. He lit some candles to make it even cozier for you.
"I dont know" you whispered "I would love a son who looks just like his father."
Arthurs hand on your tummy felt so calming. Like a charm that made your child feel loved.
"And I would love a daughter who is just as precious as her mother."
You smiled.
"I promise I will try my best to be a good dad. I will make our kid laugh as often as possible and teach him or her how to do magic tricks and I´ll dance to make the child feel better. I will try anything. to be.....good enough! I`m gonna take good care of our baby."
"I know you are going to be amazing. Who wouldnt love to have a funny clown as a father?"
Arthur leaned in to kiss you "I promise you, I will find a job as a stand up comedian so we can afford much more than now. I`m gonna make it work. "
"I know we will Arthur. The two....no. The three of us together."
Arthur pulled you even closer to his chest. The warmth of his body lulled you in as you drifted away into sleep. The last thing you`ve heard before your eyes closed was Arthur whispering "Sleep tight, little angel" while he placed his lips on your belly to kiss your child good night.

Imagine being Missy's companion. She's supposed to pick you up at a certain day, but arrives at purposefully inconvenient times. Like the middle of the night, or while you're in for your morning shower. And banter. Lots of banter and threats of violence (that will not be followed through) ;)
Interruptions
Missy X Reader
Summary: Missy, as unpredictable as she is, keeps interrupting your normal life in order to take you away.
Warnings: None
A/N: This request is a few weeks old, sorry it took me so long!
Tumblr media
When you open your eyes, Missy's face is inches from yours.
"Fuck!" You jump. "What the hell?"
"Morning!" She grins, pulling away slightly. "Ready to go?"
"Morning?" You splutter, propping yourself up on your elbows and looking to your clock. "It's 1am! I was asleep!"
"I noticed, dear," She smirks. "I was watching."
"You were watching me sleep?"
"Yes. You looked pretty and you're weren't talking, so it's a lot more enjoyable than when you're awake."
"Next time you do this Missy, I'm punching you."
"Sure thing," She replies lightly, knowing you would never have the heart to lay a finger on her. "I got bored waiting for you to wake up, I want to go now."
You give her a tiresome look. She really was like a toddler sometimes.
---
You sighed as the warm water hit your skin. It was 8am, and you hadn't slept well last night. You weren't looking forward to a day at work ahead, and you already knew you were going to be late. You had to make your morning shower quick.
You practically screamed when the shower curtain was yanked open and Missy stuck her head in.
"Missy!" You yelped, attempting to cover yourself with your arms.
"Oh shut up, it's nothing I havent seen before," She rolls her eyes, but you don't miss how they quickly glance down appreciatively at your naked form afterwards. "There's a waterfall made out of liquid diamonds I've just found in Nan Gar. I want to take you."
"Fine." You roll your eyes, though you're secretly pleased. She had just saved you from a terrible day.
Missy's face lights up, and she reaches out a hand to you, sleeve getting slightly wet.
You smirk and grab it, pulling her into you and she yelps as she's pulled under the water with you.
"Y/N, you-"
"That," You smirk, face centimetres from hers. "Is for interrupting my shower."
You press a quick kiss to her lips and hop out before she can react.
---
"Y/N, would you like some more peas?"
You look up at your mother across the table. "No thanks Mum, I'm good."
It was Saturday night, the day you always went round to your parents for tea, and you were currently sat with them and all of your brothers eating a roast dinner. Everyone was talking about their week and you were perfectly content listening to the chatter as you ate.
It's when you glance up from your plate that you see Missy at the window. You practically spit out your food.
"You alright, honey?" Your Dad asks, and you nod, swallowing.
"Went down the wrong way."
You glance back up at the window to meet Missy's eyes, and she pointing frantically at her TARDIS.
"Come on!" She mouths.
"No!" You mouth back. You can feel her probing at the edges of your mind, but you refuse to let her in.
You cut up a carrot, smiling politely at your parents, hoping they don't notice the mad woman at the window behind them.
She's mouthing something at you, desperately trying to act out something to get the message across. You raise your eyebrows, giving her a look that says, "I've no idea what you're on about!"
She visibly sighs, and pulls out her phone. You barely ever see her use it - she usually opts for "less primitive technology".
Your phone buzzes, and you pull it out of your pocket to find a message from her.
Dalek invasion imminent - need you! Xx
You look up, eyes wide.
"Y/N?" Your Mum asks. "Everything alright?"
"Yeah, sorry," You stand up. "It's a... work emergency. I've gotta go."
---
You were drunk - just a little bit.
Well, quite a lot actually. You're pressed up against the door of your apartment by some blonde thing you'd picked up at the bar. Her lips are on yours and you're kissing back languidly. Your hand fumbles for the handle, and you open the door letting you both stumble in. You're about to lean back in when you spot a flash of purple in the corner of your eye.
"Is this really how you spend your Friday nights when I'm not around?" Missy asks, from her spot on your sofa. "I must admit though, she's pretty."
The girl you're with pulls away and looks at over at her in confusion.
"Missy!" You scold through your drunken haze. "Why are you here?"
"I came to pick you up," She says pointedly. "However, you're clearly busy."
You want to slam your head against a brick wall. You turn to the girl - you hadn't even bothered to learn her name.
"Here," You mumble, pulling out your wallet and handing her a tener. "Get a taxi. Sorry."
The girl takes it and leaves, wobbling on her stilettos slightly. You turn to Missy.
"I was trying to get laid." You complain, trying to make it over to the sofa without stumbling. You weren't worried about Missy being jealous - you two had never been exclusive.
"Why darling," Missy says flirtatiously. "You can do that any time when I'm around."
"Shut up," You slump down next to her, head on her shoulder. "Where are we going?"
"Oh no, you're much too drunk for that. How many ginger beers did you have?"
" 'M not a timelord, Mis."
"Whatever," She shrugs, pressing a kiss to your cheek. "Come on, let's sober you up. There's this new planet I've found, quite nearby actually. Looks like a good one to take over..."

Spider
If you Like it please don't for get to press that Reblog! its means a lot to me!
WOW I havent posted in a while, been working on my own stuff but here is some personal works. Expecet to see alot of content of Spider and Viper. Ive been playing a ton of Titanfall so im in that mood rigt now.
Fandom: Titanfall
Relatonship: Viper/OC Character
Warnings: Very long clocking in around 3260 Words! Explict language, canon violence, mutual pinging, build to relationship, and smut at the end!
He really didn't see why the ship was built to have a limited number of dorms. It was hard to find a spot and claim it as yours when it's already six members and their Titan, but the recent addition made it just a bit harder.
Spider, he was told, was to be dorming with him. Sloane and Ash were already in one room as was Ritcher and Kane, and he preferred to not have one of the other two males to be dorming with him, he saw how messy they kept theirs. Blisk's room was of course off limits. They were just about to take off when he heard a knock on the door before it slid open. Spider was there with only 2 duffle bags. She walked in quietly looking around the room.
The "kitchen" was towards the front of the room, right beside the entrance, a couch and TV opposite of it. Towards the back were two beds in opposite corners and lockers on both sides. The left side was noticeable more used with the bed sheets being almost completely off the bed, an extra locker that was slightly open due to the amount of tech it was holding. She took to the right side. Placing her duffle bags on the bed. Viper didn't focus on her as she moved around. He would have to just get used to another person in the room.
It was actually quite easy getting used to another person in the same room as him. The first week she slept with most of her gear on. The second week he noticed she would get up very early, earlier than Ash even, he didn't know where she went at the time, too busy trying to get more sleep before the day started. Hawk, his titan, told him later where Spider went. Often she went to the Titan hanger bay and got into her own Titan, JD.
She appears to be under stress. JD has stated that they are not used to working with others. He also stated that she fears word of her being with the Apex Predators might get out and someone from her past may try to capture her.
Hawk spoke into the link as he worked on one of her thrusters.
Is she that valuable of a member if she needs protection?
You were only a Predator if you had the skills. Needing protection meant you were weak.
Calculations suggest a 78% better performance in missions with the assistance of a Monarch Titan and Pilot. It is also easier to be assisted, that is a possible reason why they joined instead of remaining in hiding. They were on low ammo and power, yet we’re able to steal just enough from both Militia and IMC units without being caught.
It was one of their first real big missions after joining. They were to defend a couple of units going in to steal information and escort them out and to extraction. Spider had JD watch the back as she jumped from rooftop to rooftop calling out as well as distracting.
“Would be nice if I got some help! Got a Legion hiding with an Ion!”
Kane yelled over the comms. Viper was on the far side of the complex and was dealing with his own Titan, same with the others when he heard Spider speak up.
“On the way, can you distract them?”
“I’m in a fucking Scorch you bug! What do you think?!”
He spotted JD quickly running to the back of the area, halting slightly he guessed to pick up Spider before he started to hear the faint rattle of an electric charged XO-16.
“Enemy shields down! Kane?!”
He heard Kane laughing along with the roar of a Flame core activating and the sound of a Titan exploding.
“Enemy Legion down.”
Kane’s Titan spoke. Spider had to back up from a placement of Anti-Rodeo smoke when the Ion charged out with a vengeance. The monarch shot a few rockets and even an energy siphon before charging against the Ion. Then the radio filled with a hatch opening and a loud Metallic BAM.
“Systems restored. Enemy pilot down.”
JD spoke. They had executed a Titan, and stole its battery. That was smart and ballsy Viper thought.
“Both teams got the data! Time to go!”
Blisk yelled into the comms, the roar of his Predator Cannon in the background. Viper dashed to the location of his team to defend as the others followed suit. Ash, Spider, and Kane made it back to his location while Blisk, Sloane, and Ritcher made it to their spot. Viper took to the skies, circling the group as Kane to the front and the other two took to a side. They would have a long walk to evacuation as they kept the enemy off their back and made sure that the ground troops stayed together.
It was a long walk getting to extraction. They had to stop twice to make sure that they weren't followed and to give the ground troops rest since they didn't have a Titan. It was dark when they did their second stop deciding to rest a little before getting the last few miles in and getting off the planet.
"Spider, Viper, you're on first watch. Sloane, Ash, you’re next, one hour."
Blisk told them before finding a spot for his Titan to hunker down and both of them rest. Spider and Viper walked a bit away from the group before they found a spot. Spider hopped out of the Titan onto its hand as it lifted her up to the top of its chassis. She had a DMR in one hand with a ration bar in the other. Viper decided it would be a good time to eat as well.
They sat in silence save for the whir of both Titans. Occasionally Spider would grab her DMR and look into the forest, he didn't see why, the titans would pick up on anyone approaching faster than they would, unless it was cloaked units but he didn't say anything. The hour passed uneventfully and Ash and Solane soon came to take their spot. Spider got back into her Titan as Viper moved Hawk to a spot and the other pair went to their own.
"Viper? Can I ask you a favor?"
He turned from the blueprints for Hawk. Spider had grown more easy to get use to, she talked more. Sparred with the rest a few times. She seemed unsure right now.
He spoke "Depends."
"My arm, I need another hand or set of hands to fix the connections and make sure the rotators aren't getting any build up or are worn down."
He was surprised to find her asking for help, he seen the way she reacted to others touching it when not fighting.
"I wouldn't be asking if I didn't think you were capable, and I trust you a helluva lot more than the rest of the lot."
"Really, not very smart."
She gave a snort. "I seen the work you put on your Titan, as soon as you get this you're gonna do the same, besides, why purposely mess it up when I'm the one that keeps everyone's backs cleared."
It was quiet for a moment.
"Fine. Blueprints?"
She tossed a small flash drive to his hands as she turned her focus to getting her arm off. He saw out of the corner of his eye, she pressed a button before twisting and pulling off the arm and placed it on the desk before turning
"I'm going to get cleaned up, you know how to find me."
They were sparing. He would never admit it out loud but she was one of the hardest predators to fight against. Sloane had a pattern, Ash wasn't fluid, Kane was easy to get dizzy, Ritcher you just let him do all the hard work of runnin around, Blisk favored his right side, but Spider? She dodged another lock, ducking quickly and she slid up right beside him, their gear rubbing against each other before she backed up from another swing.
She was fast, graceful, and really fucking hard to hit. He had one more trick. He turned around and charged her, she sidestepped, just like he thought she would and quickly grabbed her arm, pulling her with and using his momentum to flip them as they landed on the ground. He placed his fist above her neck as the other held her arm.
“I won.”
She gave a quiet laugh before tapping her non trapped hand on his side, where the armor was weaker.
“More like a stalemate. Besides. . .”
He gave a small head tilt before suddenly her legs pushed against him, flipping him above her head. He let go of her arm, trying to stop himself from flipping. She quickly rounded and got above him, trapping both hands in her metal one as she placed her weight on his thighs, keeping from him lifting his legs to do the same.
“I won now.”
Ok so he may or may not be pinning for the skilled sniper sleeping in the same room as him, who can beat him in hand to hand combat, does not intrude into his space, while also being a helpful hand when it comes to modding Hawk, and she looks good. Viper gave a quiet groan at his thoughts as he let the water wash his sins off the wall before he turned off the water. Drying most of his hair before wrapping the towel around his shoulders and pulling on a pair of boxers. He stepped into the room he shared the person of his thoughts with. Spider was distracted, she had taken her DMR apart and cleaned it again. The jump to their next contracts always left her on edge. “How many times have you taken that apart now?” He asked as he pulled on his pilot gear. “In total or while you were in the shower?” She was being funny, noticing he was in there longer than usual. He shook his head but grinned.
“Ha ha very funny.”
“Huh really, am I getting better at jokes? But in reality probably not a good idea to use a lot of hot water, you know how the boss and Kane get when they cant basically melt their skin off. There are other ways to relax.” His brain short circuit, did she really mean?-No that's just his thoughts, Spider didn't seem like the type to get attached to coworkers, or offer to be a fuck buddy. He didn’t turn around to face her, rather not look at her and see if she was being serious, the mission wouldn't go right then. “Yeah I know it's called sleep.”
“Thats- “Five mins till we get to the drop, get your asses to your Titans!” Blisked yelled into the comms. Spider didn’t get a chance to finish what she was gonna say as Viper grabbed his weapons and the rest of his gear and rushed out the door, she followed suit.
He didn’t understand why he was sent on a solo mission, but he was told to for some reason, he guessed it was the fact no one knew his face, so he had to. He was ready to get back to being on the ship and rather deal with his personal issue then do another solo mission, he missed the small comfort of being assisted should things go south.
He walked into the room quietly, it being late on the ship, and set down his duffel bag. The room looked mostly the same, another Sniper had been added to Spider’s desk, while a few Titan parts were placed on his, most likely due to Spider, she often found bits he was needing to get. Her bed was surprisingly empty seeing how she wasn’t in the hanger and he saw no one in the training room when he passed by.
He looked to his bed, ready to sleep in his gear and deal with the pain later when he saw something in it. Spider was under the covers, wearing one of his shirts surprisingly and hugging his pillow. He turned not sure how to deal with her and decided to change. He heard the bed creak slightly as he changed and glanced back seeing Spider sit up.
“Sorry I didn’t know you were back and I- the room felt different- I had problems sleeping and . . .”
She rambled before stopping, looking down and fiddled with the blanket before placing her hands beside her to get up.
“I’ll get out of your way.”
“Spider.”
She paused and slowly looked up. He was close now, having changed.
“If you want . . . you can stay.”
He didn’t want to admit but sleeping sucked when he was alone on the mission, the room felt barren without her. He missed her presence in general.
“Oh-ok”
She went towards the wall of the bed, grabbing her pillow and placing his back in the process as he got in. She hugged the wall as he faced the outside and he could feel her tension and it got on his nerves. He flipped over after sometime and placed a hand on her waist and held her.
“Relax.”
She took a deep breath calming herself before the two slowly drifted to sleep. They woke up with her head tucked under his chin and her own arms wrapped around his waist. They didn't speak about sleeping together, but they didn't stop either. He didn't know what to call whatever they had, sleeping together but not actually sleeping together.
She was on a solo mission now. They needed someone who could go in and get close to the target without drawing attention. She volunteered actually. Pointing out that she still wasn't known as a Predator, and was an assassin before joining them. She got back two weeks later and immediately went to the med bay. The mission was successful but she had taken a few bullets, thankfully not in severe locations, removing glass shards, and trying to fix her arm.
She was in a foul mood and no one bothered her, well except him of course. He had snatched her gear, arm and helmet mainly, the visor was cracked, as he set out to fix the two as she recovered. Once released from the med bay she was to rest and given a few more weeks for the nanites to do their job.
He bothered her by watching movies, Top Gun and Edge of Tomorrow at least twice. Once healed she immediately went back to training, prepping her body after not having done so while healing. He joined her, bored out of his mind.
"-nd I snapped his arm in half."
She was talking about the mission as they spared. He stayed quiet letting her sort of vent before he blocked a swing from her.
"Taught the ass to don't even think about touching someone without asking."
She spoke of someone following her, harassing her, while on the mission. She had gotten somewhere quiet and out of view before she attacked him after he touched her. While he was pissed that someone touched her, the fact that she broke his arm made him satisfied. He gave a groan hearing what sounded like metal on metal.
His head was pounding yet he didn't even drink that much the night before. Spider was trying to be quiet, whipping up some food their bodies could handle while being slightly hungover. Eventually the noises stopped and he could tell lights were turned off. Cracking one eye open just a bit to see Spider in the kitchen eating whatever she made quietly, lost in her thoughts.
She was wearing one of his shirts again, he could see her shorts under the edge of his shirt but just barely. He looked away in his own thoughts before his eyes flicked back to her when she started moving. Bringing a bottle of water, medicine, and some food.
"Are you always looking out for everyone?"
She hummed a bit as he sat up before speaking.
"Guess it's just in my nature."
He gave a soft grunt as he was pushed onto the bed. Spider was quick to straddle him. She leaned down quickly, capturing his lips with hers and kissed hard. He kissed back just as hard as his hands grabbed her waist and head. He’s not sure how the make out session started. They were sparring again when it just got a little heated. OK more than a little, Spider had gained the upper hand and straddled his waist when he let out a tiny choked moan. She halted slightly, surprised by the noise before she moved but it felt like she purposely dragged her weight onto him more. Then they were hurrying back to their room, their gear quickly stripped away.
He was brought back to the present when Spider slowly kissed down his chest, her thumb flicking over a hardening nipple before kissing above his navel. She then tugged on his briefs, getting him to lift his hips as she pulled them off. Her hands felt along his thighs as she breathed over his cock. Slowly she gave the head a tiny kiss before giving a long lick on the underside. His breath was shaky but when she enveloped him with her mouth he let out a moan, his hands covering his face as she slowly bobbed up and down. Stopping at times to flatten her tongue on his head.
"Fuck." He groaned out.
Spider hummed, watching his reaction through her eyelashes. She continued before he started to pant harder, his hips slowly thrusting.
"Fuck-Spider-Ah!"
She quickly pulled off, her hand squeezing the base almost painfully keeping him for cumming. Slowly did he come from that high and she started to pump again. She crawled into his lap as she kept the slow pace, her other hand going to her cilt and rubbed lightly before slowly sliding a finger in. She matched her pumps, her finger sliding in as her hand went down. She continued even as she added a second and third. Once she felt stretched did she stop.
Viper's hands went to her waist as she held him and slowly slid down a tiny moan coming out as she bottomed out. Then she rose and slid back down, her pace slow. His hands gripping her waist tight. She leaned down quickly kissing him as a hand went into his hair as the other braced near his head, his own hands moving, one to her hair, the other to the small of her back.
The kisses were slow and sloppy, quiet pants came out between the kisses before Spider slowly increased her pace. They broke the kiss, letting their foreheads rest together. Quiet words spoken as the pleasure rose.
"Nnnn-Viper-ah-Viper!"
"Fu-ck-Spider!"
They came with a shout. Spider giving a few thrust before slamming down hard and stilling. Small shakes went through their bodies as they breathed. Spider made a quiet whine as she pulled off him, feeling slick dribble out onto them both. She ran her hand through his hair slowly before giving a quiet grunt.
"We need a shower."
"Is that an offer for round 2?"
He said with a grin causing a quiet laugh to escape her.
"Only if you promise to help clean up the mess."
"Deal."

chapter: 25/? summary: Dan’s body has been broken for as long as he can remember, and he’s long since learned to deal with it. Sort of. But when his symptoms force him to leave uni and move into a new flat with a stranger named Phil, he finds that ignoring the pain isn’t the way to make himself happy. word count: 3065 rating: mature warnings: chronic illness, chronic pain, medicine a/n: a huge thanks goes to @obsessivelymoody for beta reading this for me!
Ao3 link || read from beginning
Dan wakes up on Thursday to a heaviness in his chest.
He groans before he even opens his eyes. His face is squished against a pillow, his ribs pressed too harshly against the mattress. Stabs of pain burst between them, make his muscles spasm and send his breath escaping in a stutter. He has to count, one, two, three, four to keep it from happening a second time.
It eases some when he rolls onto his back.
And he tries to comfort himself further by counting out how long it’s been since he’s been able to sleep on his stomach. Too long, probably.
He’s been getting better, though. Even staring at the bedroom ceiling through his tears, Dan knows that. Knows the he’s helped Phil with dinner the last few nights, and managed to handle the curtains being open for a few hours yesterday.
His hand smoothes across his sternum, and he pokes at the painful spots in his sides until the sharpness dulls.
It’s enough to let Dan sit up, then stand on shaky knees. He tosses Phil’s pillow back to where it belongs and tucks the duvet into place to prove the voice in his head, wondering why he’s suddenly worse again, that he’s fine.
And to ignore the second voice, telling him it’s anxiety that causes your pain, over and over again.
His appointment is in a day.
Dan’s hardly slept for three.
He tries to swallow back a sigh. Whatever rush of adrenaline had dragged him out of bed has faded, left fatigue settling heavy in his bones again. He could drag himself to the lounge, curl up in his blankets and continue his new daily routine of watching people on YouTube for hours.
But his body aches and his eyes burn, and he crawls back into bed instead.
The voice in his head grows louder.
Dan grabs Phil’s pillow, clutches it ot his chest and presses his face against the fabric, breathing deeply.
It smells like Phil.
He holds it until he falls back asleep.
---
The afternoon drags.
It’s past two when Dan wakes up again. The flat is still empty, the bed unmade again. He crawls out without bothering to fix it, makes himself a sandwich, and settles back on the sofa, where he can rest his head against the cushions and ignore the tightness around his heart.
Every time he turns on his phone, it’s too a notification reminding him he has an appointment tomorrow that has his muscles seizing, making it ache to breathe.
And to a reminder he half regrets setting, since he’s ignored it for days.
Call mum.
There’s only a few hours to follow through with it now.
He glances back at the clock that tells him it’s just ticking past three. Twenty-five hours left, says the voice in his head. It sounds like the last GP he saw, who looked him in the eyes and told him to try acting like he had more energy, who told him it would help.
You should try it, his mum had said afterwards. You never know unless you do.
Dan’s thumb swipes across the screen. He finds her contact, sucks in a breath, and hits the call button.
He doesn’t breathe again until she picks up on the third ring.
“Hi, Dan,” she says.
He hasn’t heard her voice since he decided to stay here. It feels like a lifetime ago, suddenly.
“Hi, mum.”
There’s silence for a long moment. He can hear her breathing over the line, low and steady, and wonders if she can hear the shakiness in his.
“How are you?” she asks
“I’m okay,” he says. “I, uh, have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow.”
“Oh?”
He swallows, nodding even though she can’t see him. “Just with my new GP, but I’m hoping he might be able to help me,” he says. “With, well, you know.”
“I hope he can.”
She sounds sad. It’s been a long time since Dan’s heard that.
“Me too,” he says. And then, because he can’t handle the silence: “But, uh, I was hoping you could maybe help me figure out my medical history, to prepare? I don’t remember all of it from when I first got sick.”
Back when she was responsible for it, he doesn’t say. Back when anyone could keep track of all of it.
“I’ll text it to you, okay?” she says. “I know your memory isn’t always the best, and your wrists tend to ache from writing.”
“Really?” He slams his mouth shut, the click of his teeth probably audible over the phone. “I mean, thanks.”
She chuckles, quiet, distant, like he can hear the miles between them. “I’m not always heartless, you know,” she says.
Dan’s breath comes out in a rush. Guilt bursts in its place, painful, bringing tears to his eyes. And he wants to tell her he never thought she was, but he can’t. She knows he can’t. He doesn’t even know what he thinks about her now, crying, hands shaking as he clutches his phone too tightly.
“Can I ask you something?” she says. “Without you getting mad?”
“Yeah.”
“How are you doing?” she says. “I know you don’t think your problems are with your mental health, and I’m not implying they are–” the not this time goes unspoken “–but I know you’ve had bad experiences with doctors and you’re my son.”
His breath catches. A tear rolls down his cheek, and he wipes it away with his hand.
This is his first appointment without her, he realizes. The first one in six years that she’s not driving him to, waiting outside or sitting next to him for the length of it. The first time she won’t smooth his hand over his knee in the waiting room, telling him it’ll be okay, that doctors can be trusted, even though they’d been proving otherwise for so long.
“I’m okay,” he says. “Phil’s coming with me.”
“That’s good,” she says, like she means it. “I am glad you have him, you know.”
He almost reminds her what she thought of him living with Phil last time they spoke, but his heart aches and his eyes are stinging and he doesn’t want to fight, not this time.
“Me too,” he says. “He’s the best, mum.”
She sounds like she’s smiling when she says: “I’d love to meet him, one day.”
Dan swallows. He can hardly picture it, bringing Phil back to a house filled with terrible memories and people he still doesn’t trust entirely. And yet there’s a tug in his chest, a bittersweet image forming in the back of his mind.
He doesn’t say anything.
Neither does she, for a while.
“I should get going,” is what she ends up saying. “As long as you’re okay? I’ll text you your medical information in a little bit.”
“Okay,” he says. “I’m okay. Thank you.”
She hums. “And Dan?”
“Yeah?”
“You should call your grandma. She misses her sofa buddy.”
He chuckles. It aches. Suddenly, he’s exhausted again. “Okay. I will,” he promises. “And mum?”
“Yeah?”
“No news is good news, okay? If I don’t call you after the appointment, I mean.”
“Okay,” she says. “Bye.”
“Bye.”
The line goes dead.
His head falls back against the cushion and his phone drops onto the sofa. Tears are rolling down his cheeks, and he’s not entirely sure he knows why.
Or maybe he just can’t untangle all the many, many reasons.
---
Phil’s quiet when he gets home.
He takes the smoothie Dan didn’t touch and sets it on the coffee table before dropping onto the empty cushion. His arm is draped across the back of the cushion, his hip just inches from Dan’s, as he turns his gaze to the open laptop, lit up with another Smosh video.
Dan’s been watching them mindlessly since his tears dried on his cheeks.
“This is a good one,” says Phil.
It’s an older one, the production value a little cheaper and humour a tad outdated. Probably more similar to what Phil had watched back at uni, Dan thinks. He tries to imagine it, a younger version of Phil, one with longer hair and a slightly narrower frame, sitting in a uni room like the one Dan moved out of before coming here.
He hardly can. Maybe because his mind is still muddled, hanging onto words he said during the phone call, onto all the things he should have said but didn’t.
“It is,” he says, just as the video ends.
He doesn’t start a new one.
Phil’s fingers sweep across his shoulder. In Dan’s peripheral, he can see Phil turn to look at him, but he doesn’t look back.
“Are you okay?” asks Phil.
Dan swallows. There’s a lump in his throat, a pressure behind his eyes so harsh it aches.
“Didn’t sleep very well,” he says.
Phil squeezes his shoulder. “I know.”
That makes the corner of his mouth quirk up. Of course Phil knows. He was there, arms wrapped around Dan as he fidgeted, tossed, and turned. His hands had combed through Dan’s hair, and his quiet questions about if Dan was okay were mumbled against his shoulder, his reassurance felt in his touch.
Phil usually falls asleep pretty quickly, Dan’s learned. Last night, he didn’t.
The hand at his shoulder tightens. Dan finally turns to face Phil.
“Is that all that’s bothering you?”
His eyes are soft, almost sad, as his hand rubs gentle circles against Dan’s skin. He knows. He must know something’s up. Dan has to remind himself that Phil’s seen him after countless sleepless nights, curled up in soft blankets on the sofa and dozing when his mind gets too tired to keep racing.
Today isn’t like that.
Dan reaches out to rest a hand on Phil’s knee, needing to feel grounded, as the first tear rolls down his cheek. Phil draws him closer, so Dan’s head is by his shoulder, his tears dripping down onto the fabric of Phil’s shirt.
There’s no pressure, none but the weight of Phil’s hand on his shoulder, when Dan says:
“I called my mum.”
Phil goes tense. “Oh,” he say. “How did that go?”
Dan swallows. “I don’t know.”
He really doesn’t. His chest feels too full with contradictions, the weight of past accusations crashing up against her understanding tone and he doesn’t know what to think anymore. He’s never been sure how to exist around her, not since pain first settled in his bones and she told him it was growing pains, it would pass, it would get better.
And it never did.
“I haven’t talked to her since I told her I was staying in Manchester,” he says, maybe as an afterthought, maybe because it’s felt heavy on his shoulders since he answered the phone.
“Was she nicer this time?”
He nods. Another tear falls. “She’s texting me my medical history,” says Dan. “She offered, because she– she knew I had trouble writing and remembering.”
Phil hums. His breath has gone even again. His mouth is close to the top of Dan’s head. He sounds hesitant when he speaks. “It sounds like she cares.”
Dan feels that, sharp and painful in his gut. Another tear rolls down his cheek, and his breath catches, and Phil holds him tighter like he’s scared Dan will fall apart.
Maybe he will.
It’s been so long,
He’s been so that sure she doesn’t actually care.
Now, he doesn’t know what to think.
---
His mum texts him.
Dan almost cries. His teeth dig into his lip and his ribs ache and he stares, wide-eyed, at the list of diagnoses and unexplained symptoms he’s had over the years. There’s the migraines they never treated at the beginning, the lightheadedness it took them four years to explain, the instructions to do more exercise that dot the whole six years that he’s been ill.
The first time he went to therapy, and the antidepressants they put him on, and the second time he went to therapy.
And every time he told his doctor he was still sick after that.
Phil’s hand lands on his wrist, gently pushing the phone from Dan’s line of sight. His voice is barely a whisper when he says: “Are you okay?”
Dan swallows. His throat aches.
Laid out like this, it doesn’t look that bad, a distant voice in his head that’s haunted him for too long tries to remind him that maybe he’s just making it all up. Maybe it wasn’t that bad. But Dan can remember the A&E doctor who turned him away because it was growing pains. Can remember the so many times his blood pressure was low before anyone bothered to point it out.
The time his doctor looked at him and said–
“Can we do something?” says Dan. “I want to– I need a distraction.”
Phil nods. In Dan’s peripheral, his phone screen goes black. The knot in his chest loosens, just a bit.
“Wanna play video games?” says Phil.
He shakes his head. “Wanna go out. It’s been too long.”
Phil’s brows furrow, like he’s about to point out that there’s a reason it’s been so long, about to warn Dan that he doesn’t want to make himself sick before such an important day.
Except part of Dan does. He’s done it before, forced himself to be in pain because maybe that way the doctors would actually see that he wasn’t lying. Not that it’s ever worked.
“Please?” he says.
Phil squeezes his wrist. “Okay.” His thumb drifts across Dan’s, careful and comforting. “Where do you want to go?”
---
Dan squeezes into his skinny jeans, even though the fabric burns his legs. He pulls a shirt over his head for what feels like the first time in forever. Though his knees are shaky, he bends down to tie his own laces, as Phil watches from where he’s leaning against the door.
“Are you sure about this?”
He reaches out, without a word, to help Dan stand again.
“I’m sure,” says Dan. “And don’t worry, you won’t need to take me to A&E this time.”
The corner of Phil’s mouth quirks up, and Dan knows he’s forcing it. He can feel his worry in the too-tight clench of Phil’s hand around his, the way his gaze trips over Dan legs when he wobbles as he stands.
He squeezes Phil’s fingers, forcing a smile of his own, as he opens the door.
It’s warm outside. The sky’s going purple as the sun sinks below the city. Dan realizes, staring up at it, that he hasn’t left the flat since he trip to A&E, hasn’t enjoyed being outside in far too long.
If his joints would let him, he’d suggest they walk around a bit. Instead, he stares up at the clouds and reminds himself to spend more evenings, when the sun won’t burn his eyes, on their little balcony, just to feel the wind against his cheeks again.
Phil tugs on his hand when the cab pulls up in front of them. They pile in, side by side in the back seat. Dan doesn’t put on his seatbelt. He can’t be bothered to deal with the harsh rub of fabric against his ribs.
His chest is still tight, the quiet buzz of anxiety at the back of his mind growing louder. He can still feel his phone, heavy in his pocket, can still imagine the text he hasn’t yet responded to. He can remember their last movie night, laughing and gasping and falling asleep with Phil’s hands trying to massage the pain away.
They hadn’t even gone out last time.
Dan stares out the window and hopes he can keep his promise that it’ll be okay this time.
They slip out of the car at the cinema. Phil pays the driver. Dan leans against the wall as he waits, wondering if the lines inside are long. It’s been so long since he’s been to the cinema, he can hardly imagine it anymore. The screens usually hurt his eyes and the audio gives him a headache and he doesn’t care today.
“You okay?”
Phil’s smiling at him, standing by the door. He holds it open for Dan, and buys their tickets for a random comedy neither of them particularly wanted to see. He lets Dan go find a seat as he buys them popcorn, soda, and a chocolate bar to share. He hands it over, in the darkness of the theatre, with a smile.
Between them, their knees bump together as the film starts.
---
They’re holding hands when it ends.
Dan’s eyes are starting to burn and his chest aches from laughing, but the voices in his head have dulled just enough that he can breathe a little easier. He doesn’t think about the appointment he needs to show up to tomorrow, or the doctor he hasn’t met yet who might dash his hopes all over again.
He stares at their joined hands as the cinema empties, smiling.
“You ready to go home?” says Phil.
Dan shrugs. He probably should give his spine a break by sinking into the sofa again, close his eyes against the bright lights of the city before a headache wells in his temples. But he doesn’t want to sit in the dark and wait until tomorrow, letting his fears return.
“Can we get pizza?”
“You up to walk?”
He nods. Phil helps him to his feet and leads him out of the cinema. He knows Manchester better than Dan does, and tells a story about coming to watch movies with Ian when he was younger as they find the nearest pizza place. Dan listens, maybe more attentively than he needs to, to keep his mind from going hazy as the city moves around him.
There’s still a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
Dan wonders if him of a few years ago would have believed that he’d end up here.
The restaurant they end up in is small and quiet, and they slide into a booth in the corner of the room. Dan sinks back against the cushion, realizing that Phil’s smiling, too.
His chest feels warm. His fingers twist in the tablecloth, because part of him misses holding Phil’s hand.
“Thanks for tonight,” says Dan. “I had fun.”
Under the table, Phil knocks their feet together.
“I did too,” he says.

Normal life? Nice try trickster
Dean x reader
A/n: This is for @supernatural-jackles #Weekly Writing Challenge. The line is "you cant ignore me forever" it'll be in bold.
Tumblr media
"yea well I wish I never had this life and I wish I never met you."
*snap*
You were sitting in a chair at a desk??? You narrow your eyes what the heck?? Where were you. You heard phones ringing. You looked around and right behind your desk you saw Someone familiar. "Sam?"
Tumblr media
"Hey y/n what's up?"
" whats up? Or more like what are we doing here."
"working?" He laughs. "how much did you have to drink last night?"
"drink? I didn't drink last night. Actually I can't remember anything about last night after we got back from a hunt"
"a hunt? You shot an animal? And who's we"
"no what ? Me, you and Dean."
"Dean, the boss?
"boss? What ?"
"Sam you guys are going to get in trouble for talking"
Tumblr media
"who are you?"
"y/n it's Ian, are you high? Wouldn't be the first time" He laughs.
"no I don't do drugs."
He huffs a laugh "yes you do, we smoked last week at that party."
"what? No I didn't even know you last week."
"everything okay over here?"
"Dean?" "your hair's different" you whispered but they all still heard.
"I don't think shes feeling very well today." Sam says.
"since when do we work here? " You asked.
"...................did you hit your head or something?"
"actually -."
"why don't you take a sick day. I'll see if Brad can come get you. Let's go to my office."
You pick up your jacket and phone. "Brad? Who's Brad?" Following Dean to his office. He shuts the door.
"is something going on I should know about."
"no but something doesn't feel right about this place."
"you mean work?"
"yeah we don't even work here. I mean what even is this place?"
He stared at you with a confused face "Look I don't know if you're doing drugs or something but it isn't appropriate do to them before or at work okay? I texted Brad and he said he'll be here in 10."
You got sad. Why was he being so mean. You just whispered a quiet "okay".
Some guy came in asking if you were okay. He was about 6'1, skinny and looked like a normal guy. No plaid.
"um, I'm fine."
"okay let's get you home then." He started walking towards the door and you stared at Dean, you didn't want to leave him. You didn't know why but it hurt to leave a little something still felt off.
In the car it was quiet for awhile until you spoke up "so how do I know you?"
He rose an eyebrow and looked at you "are you that high?"
"I'm not high at all, clearly."
"sure and you Know me because we're dating."
"mmm-hhhm for how long ?".
"i don't know if I should be offended or not."
"I just feel like something's wrong or different i dont know."
"maybe you need to get a good night's sleep. More than 5 hours."
"yeah that sounds good."
You went in and laid on the couch since you didn't want to share the bed. "Why are you laying there Lets go to bed." He said.
"no! I mean no it's okay I wanna try here."
He frowned. "Okay then good night." He kissed your lips quickly and it felt so wrong.
Morning time -
You woke up to the smell of bacon and pancakes. You totally forgot where you were previously so you called out deans name. "Dean?"
"y/n? Are you awake?" You walked into the kitchen still groggy. You got a little startled when you seen Brad and not Dean.
"ready for breakfast?" Brad asked giving you a big kiss on the cheek.
"ha ha you know what I'm not feeling that hungry I'm just gonna head out." You were about to head out when you seen you were still in your clothes from yesterday. You quickly found your room and changed, seeing a paper with the name of your work and the address you took it and walked out. After about 26 minutes of walking you got to work. "y/n your running late." The girl at the front desk says.
"really?"
"only about 5 mins."
"okay thank you." You got to the 8th floor clocked in and went to your desk. Apparently you had a meeting 5 minutes ago probably about 10 now. You ran in and Dean spoke up
"nice of you to join us y/n." All eyes were on you now. Dick move.
"uh, yeah I'm sorry I walked to work today." He nodded but still looked a little angry. "That's okay, you can just do this week's article then right?"
Article?? "Um, but I just do sales."
"yeah but Josh can help you. Also, I need it by Thursday afternoon." You looked at the time and date on your; Tuesday 9:45 am. Great so only about two day.
"okay yeah." You say. Why does he hate you so much. Your lunch break was at 12:20 and apparently you had another meeting at 1 p.m. You were running a little late since you had to walk to go get breakfast, quickly jogging into the building, you bumped into someones shoulder knocking there drink over them and the floor. "I am so so sorry." You looked and saw that it was Dean. Great he already hated you. You pick up the cup and say "I'll buy you a new I didn't mean-"
"it's fine." You can see the anger in his eyes. "Oh.... alright. Well here's some napkins." You were holding napkins still from your lunch so you used those and started dabbing his shirt. "I got it alright." He said with a little venom in his voice.
"ooo-kaay." You say on the verge of tears. The next day you went to his office to give him a coffee and his response was " I don't like that kind. Back to work." Wow that was cold. The next three days were hard after that, you tried to avoid Dean at all cost.
Your three day streaks ended this morning when you walked into the elevator with Dean and some girl following. It looked like he was going to say anything but then glared at you so you looked away. He was kissing her the whole way up to the 8th floor. "See you later baby."
And now about 3 hours later hes calling you into his office....
You didn't say anything walking into his office and you didn't really look in his eyes or at his face much.
"please sit down." You did as told.
"So we've been on a small budget at the moment and sadly... You're one of the people that are getting laid off."
Seriously??? "Is this because of the coffee? I didn't mean it."
"it's not because of that."
"....okay."
"your last name is Friday and I would still like the article by Thursday afternoon." You wanted to cry.
"why do you hate me so much?" You whispered.
"it's not about hate it's about having a small budget." He gives you one of those fake smile with a shrugs.
"yes you do I see it in your eyes when you look at me."
"it's not hate it's just you're like a kid to me, always messing up, always having to clean up your messes. You haven't grown up yet." You were surprised to say the least.
It was like a wave energy just hit you
"you still act like a kid, you havent grown up yet. always messing up, and I'm always having to clean up your messes."
You remember Dean saying that to you before. The whole arguments came to you in pieces.
"you said that to me before."
"what?"
"I knew this wasn't right. you have to remember so we can get out of here"
"look if this is your way of trying to get your job back-"
"no, you know you remember. I said I didn't want to have that life anymore and then bam I wake up here. Trickster." The surrounding changed and you were in a completely empty diner sitting across from Dean and the trickster.
"I really thought you would be the first one to get it but not this time." He said to you.
"what?"
"deano over here got it this morning."
"what? And you didn't tell me?"
"I just wasn't sure if you remembered it yet."
"no you did know.... You kissed that girl right in front of me."
"yeah that was just a bonus" the trickster laughed.
"okay, okay I was still mad." You shake your head "so what you thought it would make me jealous?" He shrugged.
"okay." Your about to get up when the trickster speaks up "alright the point of that you bozos was that no matter how Angry you guys were you still Remembered and you definitely didn't want that life y/n."
"yes I do, you just did it wrong it would have been way better if I didn't have to see Him"
"oh please." Dean says.
"Would you two idiots just put that stuff behind you and move on. You still care about each other." You snickered. He snapped his fingers and you started choking, you flung your hands to your throat.
"stop your hurting her." Dean yells causing him to snap again, causing you to breath again. "Tell me that's not caring." He says and disappears.
"Ughhh" you walk over to leave but the doors were locked. "Oh come on!" You sat all the way across the room from Dean. It was quiet for a minute when Dean spoke up "you can't ignore me forever."
Silence. You didn't answer. After another minute you finally spoke up: "was she good in bed?" He squinted his eyes at you.
"I didn't sleep with her."
"that's surprising."
"you know you went home with someone too."
"yeah but I at least know how to control myself." He got mad but didn't say anything.
"I slept on the couch."
" wh-"
"I slept there because he wasn't you, it felt wrong."
"yeah it did for me too." You looked over towards him. You were caught off guard when he asked "do you really hate me?"
You slowly made your way towards him "hmm idk that depends.... Do you? Or do you think I always mess things up?"
"look, I was mad and I just said somethings"
"you didn't answer the question." He started slowly making his way to you now.
"we all have messes even me and Sam, you know that. but we all help to clean it up." He reaches you. "I missed you " he says.
"I'm sorry y/n for the what I said. I love you with all my heart, i didn't mean any of it. Please forgive me." He grabbed a flower from one of the tables and put it in your hand holding your other hand. You smiled that stuff girly smile and your heart melted at his actions.
"I apologize too it wasn't just you I said some things too. And I forgive you Dean."
"Good because I forgive you too." He said grabbing your face and kissing you. It was rushed but it was the type of kiss where you poured all of your feelings into it. You missed his lips and his hands on your face. You both heard "took you guys long enough." You pull away to laugh but Dean pulls you back to his mouth.

If you don’t know- Calum Hood
Tumblr media
A/N: Okay I’m back and maybe not better than ever, this si a piece of writing that i’m not quite sure about, but i like the vibe (also i might go back to this later and edit?? idk)
TW: none i think?? the start is a bit angsty, but not much more
Word count: 1,2k almost..
If you say that you don’t feel a thing
“DO YOU NOT FEEL A THING?”
He all but yelled at you, like he couldn’t see the tears building up in your eyes, like he couldn’t hear how chocked up you are.
“I feel EVERYTHING, that’s the goddamn problem! I feel the bed being cold in the morning, I taste you in every sip of coffee, and I feel the scent of old cigarettes in the curtains of our bedroom balcony. But most of all I feel the absence of you every day! It hurts so much, it’s just better to not show it.”
You turned around to hide the tears that were threatening to fall from your eyes.
“I’ve been at rehe-”
You quickly interrupted him, whipping around to look at him with a fire burning in your eyes.
“Yeah, I know! rehearsal or interviews or just partying-”
Now Calum looked at you sharply, returning the fire like there was no tomorrow.
“What’s wrong with that? I should be able to do stuff like that, you don’t control my life, it’s not like you part take in it alot either.”
The ball in the bottom of your throat was threatening to explode.
“Why would I want to part take in a party where I’m not wanted anyways.”
With that you turned on your heel and headed to the bedroom. You had been happy for so long that this felt like karma for not having that much of fights in the past months. It was just that all the love that used to fill the house was fading way to fast.
I need you to need me to stay
Calum wakes up later than he planned that day. He is facing the wall opposite of your side  of the bed, so he rolls over onto his back. Rubbing his eyes, he lets out a groan as he remembers last night. He stretches his hand over to your side, just to be met with cold sheets. It feels like a tiny stab to the heart. He really wanted to apologize. Looking over at his alarm clock on the bedside table, he sees that the time has just passed nine am. This causes him to furrow his brow. You’re always up after him. Always.
The kitchen is empty. The living room and adjoined terrace is abandoned, and there is no music or noises coming from the bathroom. Suddenly the big house is empty and cold, a feeling he never thought he would experience in his own place. It wasn’t supposed to remind him of all the lonely hotel rooms he had stayed in throughout the years.
Back in your bedroom, he sees that his green empathy hoodie is missing, and a tiny glimmer of hope flickers. Along with a bit of fear. He needs you to stay. He needs you to need him to stay. So he makes a decision right there. He’s going to find you and sort all this out.
------
LA was unusually cold this morning, but that could have to do with the fact that you were up four hours earlier than you were used to. Regardless, after nine months in a relationship with Calum, it was safe to say that the honeymoon phase was over. It had been for a while, but in the last week, things had taken a turn for the worse. The fights had been constant and you didn’t want to deal with it anymore. They were ripping your heart out piece by piece, and if this was what love was, you didn’t want it.
I remember the way that I felt inside
You could hear the loud, familiar rumble of Calum’s car rolling in place besides yours, yet you did not turn. You just pulled up the the green hood and rested your head on your left hand. It was propped up on you knee and you were sitting on the hood you your beat up jeep.
This was your place, you both came here when life was to hard. Sometimes separate, other times together. It was the cliche make out spot, with view and all, it was also the place you both met. How ironic that it might be the place you end as well.
You felt your car make a small dip as Calum leaned against the hood beside you. He was nervous, that much was obvious with all the fidgeting he was doing.
“Will you please stop rocking the car Calum?”
It came out harsher than intended, and a small flinch made its way onto your face. It felt like all you could do was sigh.
“How did it come to this?”
“To what?”
You turn your head to look at him. Really look at him, you havent done that in ages. His hair is a mess. Not the post sex, good kind of messed up. It looks like he has been running his hands through it a hundred times with lack of thought to how it would come out. The bags under his eyes, like he hasn’t slept in days. His usually golden skin, is more lifeless. The slumped shoulders and how he seems to cave in on himself- it tears you apart.
“To us.”
He says it so weakly, like he is tired of playing games. Truth be told, so are you.
“I guess, we thought this wouldn’t happen. I mean, we were so good for so long, at least I never thought it would get as bad as last night.”
You rubbed your eyes and bowed your head.
“No, you’re right. It used to be so easy, since I was mostly here and not traveling the world when we got together. I remember how I used to feel inside, everything was just so easy. I think that we didn’t expect it to get this hard, when I started being more away.”
“Yeah, I agree. It’s just.. I don’t want to lose you. So it was kind of easier to push you away.”
He nodded, and shuffled closer.
“And when you started pulling away, so did I, with all the partying and stupid stuff.”
Calum, carefully looked at you, and suddenly felt like 10am had never looked this good. It had always been an anonymous time of the day. But now he saw it in a new light. Literally and figuratively. The way your eyes were shining as you overlooked the city. They way a lock of hair was falling from behind the hood of the sweater, and your teeth were biting your lower lip. He delicately took hold of your sweater covered hand and pulled the sleeve up to your wrist, before he entwined your fingers. Tightly.
“Look I’m sorry I got distant. I shouldn’t have, and both of us knew that this time would come eventually. But now we have learned this lesson. It hurts right now, but it isn’t so bad that it isn’t good for something.”
He just chuckles and looks at you, with a long awaited glint in his eyes.
“When did you become such an optimist?”
Leaning your head on his shoulder, you smiled.
“When I realized I love you.”

Head Storm.
If i don't take minute to write these things down they just weigh so heavy. where do i begin.
i'm frustrated.
sometimes its like a repeating nightmare. Its me and brian and we are on a 13 hour flight to Germany. this double decker plane is huge and filled with strangers and i cant see their faces. i know our destination is a long way away. im tired. and there we are in the middle row. u next to me and me on the isle. We're sharing your blue ipod with music i never really listen to and this is the moment im stuck in.
for a minute my body goes into drive. at first you think the dream would play out as i remember, but this isnt a memory its a dream and now that im more aware- more awake within the dream; im always asking myself.
why am i here? wheres juan? wheres julian? (thats right this is a dream/ im sleeping)
and i realize im meant to doo something. and i go and look at brian and its not the same. i can barely see his face and i no longer remeber the sound of his voice. its as if im stuck in my seat.
the dream is almost paused- as i struggle to put these pieces of the real memory back together. its like im waiting. im waiting for brian to speak first. im just sitting here. on this plane.
i went to russia in 2005. the trip was from philly airport to germany than germany to russia.
it was for a youth peace team mission. we met up with kids our age over there and talked about religion and life. it wasnt just us two- we had a team of our friends and it was amazing.
It was the first time i had left the country- it was the first time i had flown without my mom. first time i felt homesick. the first time i saw how big the world really is. how there is so much to see and so much going on. it was an experience.
i never knew Demisexual was a thing. (The term 'demisexual' comes from the concept being described as being "halfway between" sexual and asexual. ... The gray-A spectrum usually includes individuals who very rarely experience sexual attraction; they experience it only under specific circumstances.)
i didnt even know what sexual was- i was young naive and anything i did know about sex and beauty most likely came from the wrong place. i managed to get all the way to freshman year of highschool without really relationships that included sexual and non sexual.
freshman year was horrible. i was the new girl becuase i didnt attend the same middle school as the other kids and my prior school was MUCH smaller than the highschool i went to. but i was excited for the change. i asked for the change.
its easy to say "well idk?" when u have lack of experience. Idk why i was single so long. idk why i never wanted a bf. idk why i have never kissed anyone idk? idk? idk? (...now i know) my first thoughts were always like omg maybe noone wanted to kiss me? maybe im the weird one. less desired. not wanted. i was the problem. i imagined my body was less than perfect and i guess my attitude and demenor wasnt the dating type (lies) i just felt weird and alone.
sometimes people cant make a sexual connection unless they have an emotional connection with someone as well. it isnt prude it isnt wierd its just how it works (literally) the better and more i get to know you i can finally start feeling any real connection at all especially sexually.
this new demisexual wasnt even a thing until i was half way through my twenties...THAT and pansexual (not limited in sexual choice with regard to biological sex, gender, or gender identity.) people would ask "well whats ur type?!" idk id say?? i didnt even realize internally i found both sexs appealing. not even just sexs just ANYone. hearts not parts we say now.
i was basiclly lost ,frustrated and didnt understand a damn thing about myself.
brian and i were friends. we went to the same church- we lived in the same town. our families knew each other. it was a very safe space for me. i didnt think brian liked me. ( i didnt think ANYONE liked me; that way anyway) i had guy friends i had girl friends i just felt like we were all at the same level. most my girl friends had kissed people, most had bfs; same with the guys. i just didnt... it wasnt that i didnt like brian- i just had no idea what any of this stuff was. how to even begin "liking someone" i wasnt stupid - i was scared? i felt scared. worried that becase i hadnt had the experiences - that i wasnt good at ANY of it. i got to know brian because he was around. youth group trips and church events ; school- we were always hanging around each other.
i was never a physical person. honestly self pleasure was the only pleasure i knew and i thought id be going to hell for masturbating so theres that complex. a secret i held tight forever.
i didnt know the more i talked and was around brian i would fall inlove with him. people SAYYY that- but in my world it was a must. it was inevitable. as long as he was open with me and vulnerable- i began to want him.
he was my first kiss. and he let me kiss him. it might of seemed innocent ( i mean it was really) but it was big for me. the only person in the world i had let in. and he was ready to reak havoc on my new world. kisses lead to make outs- making out lead to sex- and that was that. id say i was his or he was mine but i guess we were each others. i wasnt ready to do this with anyone else. i didnt think i even could. it took so long for brian to become this person for me. i was..postive; id make this love last a life time. but that wasnt the case it was a rocky 3 years but at the end of it i personally learned alot.
i still didnt know all that i said above. on my rocky one relationship road... i was frustrated. i didnt know these things existed and while life seemed easy for brian- it was not for me. i struggled and argued with myself resulting in very poor communication with brian leading to only end in sight. if i wasnt making an emotional connection with my person then it had to be the opposite; i wasnt interested at all. almost the opposite- i felt nothing.
i let the hurt find its way in- i let it block any form of fix. the emotions were turned off. and the result was sexless.
i went on a rampage and found a random lover. Peter was ..peter. i didnt know him prior to meeting him- i barely knew much about him at all. all i knew was i was numb and needed to feel again. ( now if only i had known who i was i would of tried to build and talk through these emotions, break some walls down. reopen the lines. reconnect and succeed. but i didnt know that. all i knew was i was hurting and i nolonger had my person- i wanted to feel again.) i wouldnt even say i was attracted to peter. i really wasnt "looking" at all. i wasnt looking with my eyes or my heart.
i was already pretty good at hurting myself just plain jane. but this was a whole different world. what if i could just have sex and not care. just do it and live. just feel something. and i did it. i found peter and yeah we had sex. i was postive i didnt want a relationship ( i was heading down the wrong road in the wrong direction WITH no directions) it was a mess. a mess that didnt last long (thankfully)
i look back at it now and would like to have lunch with peter. although im sure im a spek of nothing in his life stream; he was a pretty big rock in mine. mainly to say sorry. sorry for using him. more sorry that i had no intentions at all. i was a shell of person and im sorry he never got the chance to meet the true me. cuz im not that person at all. and i think he was geniune and we could of learned alot from each other.
i am 30 years old now and still to this day brian and peter are the only people ive slept with except my current husband.
ive trusted 2 (brian and juan) of those souls with my heart. my whole heart. ive been with them to the extent i lost myself. my body has craved them and known them. and they will forever have a piece of me. they took with them what insecurities i had and threw them out the window. i was engulfed and loved and it didnt stop. i had alot of sex with brian as i currently have alot of sex with juan (my husband)
if i had known who i was then i would of talked to more people. resulting in more meaningful connections. resulting in more stories and experiences to tell about. girls guys gays all different kinds of souls i would of touched and danced with. but i didnt know what i know now.
time has given me the learning ive neeeded and now i know alot.
as my nightmare continues its me and brian sitting on a 13 hour plane. i want to ask him how he is, and what hes doing. what other souls hes experienced and what life is like for him now. we would laugh and joke and unerstand that life goes on and although we are not lovers any longer we wouldnt be who we are without having known each other. on this plane its noone but us. reality doesnt hit because its just a distraction and we just want to catch up.
its like a clock is ticking and were anxious. as if he too knows this is a dream, a mear astroprojection into a memory. and noone talks. we both stay silent. its almost like i cant breathe.. its almost like im drowning.
i havent spoken to brian in atleast 10 years possibly. not a single word. across the universe is a soul i once loved wholefully and now were strangers. i think a piece of me hurts still today. like a lost limb. how can i go through life and succeed at only making connections that count when my first connection is fried and dead.
how do i begin to process the things i now understand when one small piece of me is gravitating through space.
i was told not to long ago that you are infact alive. simply living- trying to stay to urself.
as this new person i am. as i am learning and growing. you were a big part of who i was- i wish u could see who ive become. my soul acknowledges your absence and i am aware of it.
i hope love and light find you on ur dark days. and that you follow that light to become whoever you are meant to be.

Through the Storm
Note: Wow, wow, wow. Here's a chapter after ages... Apologies everyone, I havent had any time to write after all and I've totally fallen off the boat with this story. I'm all wrapped up in other stuff and my inspiration/motivation for this one is kind of minimal for the time being. I'm going to let myself focus on all these other stories going on inside my head and hopefully get back to this soon...? On a totally different note, this specific chapter is one of my first attempts at writing a battle. I had one person read through it a while ago and they enjoyed it... So hopefully you will as well! Thank you to every single reader of this story thus far, you're all amazing!
"Soundtrack" From the Start--Previous Chapter
Chapter Eighteen
Lillie provided a rude awakening by shaking and shouting at me, by the time I'd opened my eyes to tell her to get lost she'd already flicked the lights on and started to climb onto my bed. I quickly slid away before she could step on me, my exhausted limbs cracking with the rapid movement. I blinked until the heavy lethargic feeling of botched sleep faded. Finally focusing on her words.
"Get up!" She shouted, leaning over the mattress and poking at my cheek. I slapped her hand away.
"What's going on, Lill." I snapped, attempting to rub at my still sore and swollen eye. It hurt to the touch so I was forced to let the itch just fade.
"Red, Green, Gold, and Moon are having a double battle! Don't you want to see Moon kick some butt?!" She said with a beaming grin.
I grimaced, isn't it too early to battle? A glance toward the clock told me it was nearly noon. Shit, I slept too late. "Of course I do." I grumbled.
"So get up!" She shouted again, bouncing on her knees and shaking the bed. Something twitched in the deepest part of my memories and I momentarily saw a much smaller version of Lillie doing the exact same thing, but rather than excitement driving her to bounce... it was fear of being caught.
I shook my head and sat upright, breaking myself from the inky dark thoughts. I grabbed her shoulders to stop her bouncing. "I am up. Now get out of here so I can get dressed."
"Okay." She laughed, "I'll be in the hall waiting for you." She jumped off the bed and bounced off into the hall, pulling the door closed. She's way more cheerful than normal...
Unfinished paperwork sat on the desk, the light still on from the night before. I'd been up until one in the morning before I took Moon's words to heart and went to bed. Wicke had wanted it done by today and I really should have gotten straight back to it, but I was far more interested in watching Moon battle. It'd been a long ass time since I'd seen her doing anything competitive with her Pokémon.
I tossed clothes on and grabbed my phone, stepping out into the hall to see Lillie standing across from the door. She was smiling at the ground, entirely lost in thought. "What's got you so happy today?" I asked, heading towards the stairs in expectation of her following.
She didn't respond, just continued to smile. When she did speak she was entirely off topic. "Are you excited to see Moon?"
I let out a short laugh, "excited to see her or see her battle." The kitchen smelt strongly of bacon and eggs, making my stomach growl. I didn't eat anything yesterday, fuck.
"I'm guessing the answer would be the same for both questions." Lillie giggled.
"Yup." The house was eerily silent considering that there was supposedly a battle happening soon. No one was in the kitchen or dining area and the living rooms were empty as well. Lillie guided me towards a set of sliding glass doors by the large table we'd sit at a few times now. The backyard was a small clearing surrounded by dense woods, a single path leading further down to another clearing where a small group of people had gathered.
I stepped outside and started down the path, Lillie racing to catch up with me, having been preoccupied with sliding her muddy shoes back on. She'd clearly been out already. Gray clouds still hung overhead, heavy and foreboding of more storms to come. Though there was enough of a sprinkle to be annoying to walk through without a hood. I immediately regretted my choice of not grabbing a sweater.
Moon stood at the end of the path, bouncing on her toes with her arms shoved deep into the pockets of her blue hoodie. She seemed to be bouncing in rhythm to something. I stepped up next to her, letting my arm brush against hers as I did. Lillie mirrored my movement on her other side causing the poor girl to stumble back and look between both of us confusedly.
Lillie giggled, "Hi, Moon!"
"Hi!" She laughed, "That was really freaky!" She pulled her hood down, exposing the black headphones plugged into her ears.
"Sorry, I had to do it." Lillie said before bouncing over to stand next to Hau with a smug smile towards me. Purposefully leaving me alone with Moon, huh? I had no reason to complain.
Moon looked up to me and I smirked, the blue of her sweater made her eyes pop. The color so much more intense and so very beautiful. She took a step forward so she was next to me once again, and slightly closer than before. It would have felt more natural to interlock arms considering how close she was, but I couldn't bring myself to do something so bold. "Good morning." She said, smiling sweetly. "You slept late."
"Yeah." I rubbed at the back of my neck, "I would have slept a lot longer if Lillie hadn't woken me up." I grumbled, glancing over to my sister once again. Her hand was tightly intertwined with Hau's.
Huh. Guess one of them is bolder than I am then.
Moon started bouncing on her toes again, what is up with these two being so energetic today...? "You're going to throw your schedule off more if you sleep that late."
"I'll get back on track." I laughed, about to ask how she had slept when she was suddenly shoved forward by someone else coming down the path. An arm wrapping around her shoulders.
"You ready to whoop some lackin' champs ass?" Gold said with a grin at her. My eyes rolled at the sight of him. I didn't want to be annoyed by his presence, but he was always so touchy with Moon. The two had clearly grown close and I couldn't deny that spark of unwanted jealousy that flared up every time I saw his mop of black hair and smug smirks.
"We'll see how well I can do after two months of not battling." Moon laughed, "I'm feeling kind of rusty."
"It's alright, so am I." Gold assured.
"At least you have your normal team though!" Moon said, "Two out of three of my Pokémon I haven't battled with yet."
Gold shrugged in response, "That dog thing seemed pretty strong when the charizard attacked. And umbreon are super specially tanky if you use them the right away."
"Is he talking about silvally?" I laughed. Ignoring the further comments about umbreon. I'd heard Moon talk about Pokémon like that in the past, but only with Kukui. I couldn't make sense of the words in relation to a Pokémon. It was something only champions and former champions seemed to understand, some complex battling techniques possibly.
"I'm guessing that's what you mean by dog thing?" Moon said with an echoing laugh. "She's a silvally."
Gold shrugged, "I wouldn't know, dude."
"To be fair, there's only two currently in existence." I said, noticing that Green and Red had settled into their positions on the opposite side of the clearing. I assumed they wanted to get started. I clapped Moon's shoulder as I started over towards where Lillie and the other bystanders stood. "Good luck, Moon."
A brilliant grin flew across her lips, "Watch, I'm going to win even without practice with these two."
I chuckled, "Don't get too big of a head, Moon. These are you're peers."
Brendan had assumed the role of referee for the battle, he stood in the center of the clearing as everyone settled off to their areas. I could see the overbearing amount of excitement rolling off the guy, rivaled only by Hau's incessant elation over being around champions. Though, I had to admit that I was a bit excited to see this as well. All four of them were known for their skills in battle, enough so that even Lillie, a newbie to any sort of Pokémon training, could vouch for it.
I watched Moon, quickly discussing something with Gold before selecting her first ball with not a bit of uncertainty. Confidence was evident through her posture, the way she held the ball and her stance… Fuck.
Lillie pulled on my sleeve as Brendan started calling out the rules for the match. "Who do you think she's going to use first?"
"I'm guessing lycanroc." I suggested, knowing enough of her patterns to suspect her first moves.
"Yeah. It'll be Kai." Hau said, crossing his legs and placing his arms behind his head. "She always starts with stealth rock."
Lillie seemed a bit lost, staring blankly at the field as Brendan rushed off to start the match. I wondered how much she even knew about battling at this point, I couldn't imagine it was enough to understand the motives behind a champion's choices.
Brendan yelled out, "Go!" And suddenly four balls flew forward, the three of us tensed as we waited to see the choices.
Green had sent out a large, intimidating looking arcanine. It appeared from its ball with its head low, posed and ready to charge at any given moment. Red had opted for a water type to counter the sole fire type, a large lapras that seemed confident in its abilities the minute it hit the grass.
Gold had released an ampharos, a Pokémon I'd seen maybe a handful of times since I'd started battling and mostly in passing. Lillie gazed at it in awe, clearly never having seen one herself. Hau and I had assumed correct for Moon's choice, her lycanroc, Kai, popped out of her ball. Unlike the other three Pokémon it immediately launched an attack, rocks flying from its ruff and scattering across the side of the field the opposing team stood on. Lillie gasped as the rocks suddenly started floating, the edges clearly sharpened as much as possible.
"That's stealth rock." I said when she looked to me confusedly.
Almost immediately after the rocks had been tossed out, Green's arcanine rocketed across the field - its body becoming shrouded in flames and aiming straight for Gold's ampharos. The Pokémon dodged easily and smacked it's assaulter with what looked to be an iron tail. The arcanine was barely deterred by the attack and span back around to launch another assault of its own.
Moon's shout brought my attention back to her lycanroc that had stealthily slid behind the arcanine as it turned. "Accelerock!" This strike on the arcanine was much more destructive, making the Pokémon stumble to the ground, kicking up an obnoxious amount of mud in the process that splattered towards the still lapras.
"Do it now!" Gold yelled to his ampharos, Lillie wrapped herself around my arm as the clouds above suddenly turned black. A loud crack of thunder splitting our eardrums before a huge strike of lightening crashed down on the opposing lapras.
"That's so smart!" Hau shouted, tossing his arms towards the ground over dramatically.
"Why?" Lillie asked.
"Thunder rarely hits unless it's raining! So he used the weather to his advantage." He explained with wide eyes.
"So is Moon." I quickly detailed, bringing their attention back to the field as her lycanroc used accelerock on the arcanine once again. The Pokémon caught up in the mud was unable to avoid the attack and the slippery state the field had become only sped up the rock type Pokémon. Landing a critical hit straight into the side of the large fire Pokémon.
Both Red and Green's Pokémon had been defeated so quickly, a look of shock crossed their faces as they recalled the fallen teammates. Moon and Gold shared a quick high five before readying themselves for more.
"That was so fast." Lillie said, her voice small. "I fought Moon back in Kanto and she didn't work that fast then."
Hau grinned, "She's an expert, Lillie!"
"That was pure luck!" Green shouted towards Gold and Moon as he pulled another ball out.
"Nah, that's the power of actual champions." Gold said smugly, "no offense to Red." He tossed another ball in his hands despite the fact that ampharos still stood on the field, yet to take a single hit.
"It was partially luck of the draw." Moon shrugged.
"Hey!" I turned to the voice just as Green's next Pokémon popped out, a machamp. Kai's going down next with that on the field.
A girl with tied up blue hair was walking towards us, she had appeared from behind the tree line with a bag strapped over her shoulder. She waved pleasantly to the three of us standing on the side lines.
"Hi there." Lillie said, looking guarded. Hau took a step in front of her protectively. "Who are you?"
"I'm Krys, from Johto." She said, the smile on her face very kind. She stopped in front of Hau and extended a hand to him, "Gold told me to come here, I'd have him introduce me but it's not exactly an option right now. With the battle and all."
Hau shook her hand, his guard dropped that quickly. "Nice to meet you, Krys! I'm Hau!"
"Oh you're Moon's friend!" She grinned.
"So you are the Krys that Moon talked about." Lillie said, her guard dropping as well as she shook the woman's hand. "I'm Lillie. We're all here for Moon."
"I figured as much." The Krys girl said with a laugh. Her gaze met mine, "So you're Gladion then?"
I simply nodded, my interest with the whole meet and greet severely lacking in comparison to the two next to me. I turned back to the battle just in time to see Moon recall her lycanroc with a grimace. A venausaur was now on the field as well, the long vines from the plant on its back waving in the air like snakes. Between the large grass type and the renowned fighting type on the field, Kai had stood no chance. She sent out umbreon next, both Red and Green seeming shocked to see the pokemon.
Gold recalled his ampharos, it was still in fighting condition but had clearly taken a good amount of blows while I was distracted. The next thing he tossed out was a very large, formidable typhlosion that he regarded lovingly as Exbo.
Krys was suddenly next to me, cheering for the Pokémon. "You got this Exbo! You could take every Pokémon on this field out!" The typhlosion turned to her and roared in response before tossing it's self into battle. It went straight for the venausaur as Moon's umbreon ran circles around the machamp, confusing it. I wonder what Moon has planned for this umbreon... It's at a type disadvantage right now...
"Krys! You're here!" Gold shouted, waving his hand to her. Moon's face had lit up at the sight of her as well.
"Yeah! Sorry, I would have been here sooner but the storm made it hard." She called back.
I rolled my eyes, of course someone new had to show up now. She's distracting them from the battle. I shouted to Moon, "Don't get distracted!"
Her face blanked momentarily before she nodded, looking more determined than she had before. She shouted to her umbreon, apparently named Rosemary, to use toxic on the dizzy machamp.
After the Pokémon had landed the attack and successfully poisoned its foe, the umbreon and typhlosion switched positions. The typhlosion followed Gold's orders to hit the machamp with aerial ace, though the hit only made the Pokémon stumble momentarily before it grabbed hold of the typhlosion. The machamp harshly smashed the fire type to the ground, causing a shout of pain to escape its mouth.
Krys inhaled sharply through her teeth as Gold recalled the fallen typhlosion disappointedly, sending a togekiss out onto the field. Moon's umbreon was now on top of the venausaur, causing the Pokémon below to stir angrily. The togekiss swooped in, striking the venausaur with an air slash and dealing massive damage to the grass type.
"Now it's just a lot of brute power." Lillie whispered, having focused back on the battle as well. "Like one hit knockout power."
"I think they're pretty evenly matched so it makes sense." Hau said.
Another long, rolling rumble echoed from overhead, the rain picking up pace quite a bit. Another storm blowing in. I wonder if they'll wrap this up before it gets worse. "Moon's using her umbreon like a distraction." I muttered.
"Yeah it hasn't really done any damage aside from poison." Krys said, a hand to her chin as she watched the small dark type Pokémon jump off the back of the venausaur. "It's interesting."
The togekiss struck another hit on the venausaur, another flying type move I didn't recognize. It knocked the horrendously strong venausaur back a few steps, yet it persisted to fight longer. Moon's umbreon had jumped back over to the machamp, dodging rapid punches and kicks that the Pokémon threw by the command of Green. I could tell by the look on Moon's face that she was waiting for something. Her body tense.
The venausaur had grabbed hold of the togekiss and smashed it to the ground with its vines very similarly to how machamp had done with typhlosion. But togekiss seemed barely phased by the impact, immediately hitting the opposing Pokémon with some strange psychic type move that knocked it out. Red recalled the Pokémon, hesitating before grabbing for his last ball. He didn't send it out right away though, to my surprise.
"What's ol' silent Red got up his sleeve?" Krys said in acknowledgement of the hesitance.
Whatever it was, it seemed to hinder his teammate as the machamp, although very destructive and competent on its own, was now facing two opponents whilst taking damage from the lingering poison. Moon suddenly shouted at her umbreon, "Sucker Punch!"
I laughed as a strange, dark energy appeared ahead of the umbreon and slammed harshly into the machamp just as it was about to throw another punch at the defending Pokémon. "She was timing its attacks, wasn't she?"
Hau spoke up, "I've always wanted to try that move out but I always screw it up."
"You have to be able to predict the next attack, I mean that was a pretty easy prediction for Moon considering how simple Green's fighting style is... but still." Krys replied, I cringed a bit at her confidence over her understanding of the battle. She's not wrong, but who is she to talk.
The togekiss finalized machamp's downfall with a strong hitting flying type move once again. Green recalled the Pokémon before it could hit the ground and swore very loudly as he tossed the next out. An alakazam appearing and immediately hitting the togekiss out of the air with psychic energy. Red finally tossed his ball as well, a pikachu popping out.
"Pikachu?" Both Hau and Lillie said with varying amounts of confusion. Moon said something about that a while ago.
Togekiss was knocked out by whatever move the alakazam had used once it was sent out. Gold recalling it and seeming annoyed about sending out his ampharos. He'd made a mistake in holding onto it until the end, now another electric type was on the field and the alakazam wouldn't take much damage from electric types. But Moon was a step ahead, she had seemed to predict Green's last Pokémon and she quickly ordered her umbreon to use dark pulse, the attack taking out the alakazam before it could do anything more to Gold and Moon's teams.
"Are you serious?!" Green shouted, grumbling rather loudly in reaction to the quick ending of his Pokémon.
Moon was grinning again and Gold commended her for the quick knock out. Hau and Lillie were cheering for her as well and the tuckered out umbreon seemed thankful to be recalled as Moon did so.
Gold said something to Moon, his voice too quiet to hear as she quickly tossed out her only other Pokémon and I couldn't help but grin as her silvally appeared in the rain and mud. The feathers on its head a murky brown, giving away its current ground typing. Though I was the only one aware of it.
Lillie elbowed me, smiling and giggling as she noticed the smirk on my face.
A sudden wind whipped past, surprising everyone. The gust strong enough to make both Lillie and Moon stumble. Another rumble from above shook the ground, the sound of heavy falling rain rapidly growing louder and louder as a heavy sheet of the cold water blasted everyone. The battle paused, Red recalling his pikachu to Green's dismay.
Gold had left the field, running towards the small group on the sidelines with his hands cupped over his eyes to see. Hau had enveloped Lillie inside his coat and was shouting over the sudden downpour and whipping winds that they should head inside before it got worse.
Gold and Krys shouted, repeating something similar to what Hau had said and ordering everyone back to the house. The ampharos returned to its ball and Moon's silvally let out a very disappointed whine as she recalled it as well. I was just barely able to hear Gold and Krys shout something to each other about lugia before I ran over to Moon who looked very lost, confused, and upset.
Note: I'll be posting one more super short chapter after this one, just have to code through it then it'll be up c:

BLUSH - Part 1
Bucky Barnes x Reader ( x Uncle Tony Stark) This is a series !! Part 2 will follow shortly :) Feedback appreciated !
Y/N Stark, was Tony Stark’s niece. Her parents’ sudden death had led to Tony taking her under his wing, and looking after her ever since.
Y/N grew up to be as brilliant as her uncle, exceling in academics, and getting into research after college.
Tony visited Y/N every week, and took her out to dinner. He never broke this tradition, and that particular day, he was waiting for her in at the restaurant where she had promised to meet him.
About fifteen minutes late, Tony saw her rushing into the restaurant, looking almost too shabby for his liking. She sat opposite to him breathlessly.
“Im so sorry, Tony !” She said, gulping down some water. “Got caught up with work”
Tony nodded, still having a look of disapproval on his face.
“What ?” Y/N asked, raising her eyebrows.
“Look at yourself, Y/N ! You are a Stark ! You cant run around looking so shabby !” Tony said, shaking his head.
“I came straight from the lab, Tony” Y/N said with a smile. “Besides, you know how much I hate dressing up”
“Ok, dont then. But still you need to look presentable” Tony argued. “ What are they making you do there ?”
Y/N shrugged.
“I havent slept in days. Working on this -”
She was cut off by Tony, who gave a bright smile.
“Well, Im here with a solution to that” He said.
“What solution ?” Y/N asked.
The solution landed her at the Avengers tower, working for Dr. Bruce Banner. It was something huge for her to work with him, and Tony was glad to have her close to him.
The rest of the Avengers were excited to meet another Stark, and not to mention a girl.
Natasha and Wanda helped Y/N settle in, whereas the men were always there to help.
* * *
“Its so UNFAIR that he gave her a room right in front of his” Sam complained, making Bucky smirk. They were on their early morning workout with Steve.
Tony had given her the right opposite Bucky’s, because that room happened to be bigger than any of the other spare ones.
“Sorry dude, I had no part in it” Bucky said, shrugging.
“Lets better keep it that way” Sam said, dropping to the floor if the gym, panting.
“Lets not try anything funny with her guys. Tony wont take it lightly” Stevd said, making his way out of the gym, followed by the other two.
* * *
Y/N woke up to hearing voices outside her room. She looked at her alarm clock, and saw that it was only 6am.
Grumbling to herself, she dragged herself out of her bed. She opened her door, rubbing her eyes sleepily.
“Guys ! Keep it down !” She said, yawning. “Tryin’ to sleep here”
Bucky, Steve and Sam turned around to look at Y/N, who leaned against the door, and gave them a sleepy look.
“Can you guys talk somewhere else please?” She said, almost in a whine.
Bucky couldnt help but smile. She looked so beautiful and delicate in her pyjamas and messy hair. It was as if something clicked. He felt some strange new energy sparking up inside him.
And he also noticed his friends who were ogling at her, just like him.
“Hey, come on, lets go” He said, grabbing Steve and Sam by their arms and pulling them towards the elevator.
He turned around to catch one last glance of her.
“Thanks, Bucky ” She mumbled, before closing the door, and returning to sleep.
* * *
By 8:00am, Y/N was in the kitchen, looking for breakfast. Steve, Bucky and Sam looked up from their food as she came in.
“Good morning, Y/N !” Sam said.
“Good morning, Sam” Y/N said, with a smile.
“Sorry about this morning” He added.
Y/N laughed and her eyes met Bucky’s. She blushed, as he gave her a smile. His eyes lingered on her face a minute too long, that Steve cleared his throat.
Bucky snapped out of his thought, and offered Y/N one of his sandwiches.
“Thanks, Bucky” Y/N said. “ Lot of work today !”
“Is Bruce overworking you ?” Sam asked.
“Yes, he is such a workaholic !” Y/N said. She glanced at the clock.
“Shit !” she said, “Im late ! ”
Y/N stuffed the sandwich into her mouth and ran off towards the elevator.
“I like her” Sam said. “Sweet thing” Bucky gave him an icy glare, and Steve burst out laughing.
                             * * *
Natasha has created a chatroom. Natasha has invited Wanda, Steve, Bucky, Clint, Nikki, Tony and Sam.
Nat: WEEKEND !! Sam: Party !! Y/N: Im still working. Nat: Boohoo Steve: Whats the plan? Nat: How about that new nightclub we saw the other day ? Y/N: Cool! Never been to one before! Sam: Aww, we’ll take you, Y/N Y/N: Thanks Sam :) Bucky: Well. Steve: Well well.
Bruce has joined chat. Bruce: Y/N, dont you have work to do? Y/N: Yes, Mr Banner :( Bruce: Why the sad face ? Nat: Leave the girl alone Bruce ! Bruce: Natasha !!
Tony has joined chat. Tony: No nightclub for you Y/N Bucky: o_o Tony: Go away Barnes !! Bucky: Nope. Wanda: You go away, Tony ! Y/N: Unfair ! Tony: Not at all Bruce: Tony, she has work ! Tony: She can stay back and work. Y/N: I want to resign. Sam: YOU ARE NO FUN BANNER ! Wanda: Stop banning Y/N from doing things ! Shes old enough to make decisions for herself ! Y/N: Yes ! Bucky: Yes ! Tony: No. Clint: Somebody please throw Tinman out ! Tony: I just might throw you out, Birdie! Bruce: She is sulking now, Tony. Stop it. Y/N,if you put your phone down and finish your work, you can go. Y/N: Thank you, Mr. Banner ! Tony: Not so fast ! Who gave you the permission to give her permission, Banner?
Bruce left the chat.
Tony: Great. Nat: Bad Tony ! Tony: Oh come on ! FINE ! Y/N can go ! Y/N: Yay ! Thanks Tonyyy !! You’re the best! Steve: Seriously. Bucky: : D :D Tony: No drinking, though. Y/N: Bye Tonyyy !!! Nat: Come to my room after work,Y/N! Y/N: Ok, Nat. Y/N: Bye guys !
                            * * *
Bucky was on his way to his his room, when he saw Y/N coming out of hers. Her long hair was wet and was dripping slightly. Bucky stood staring at her.
“Hi Bucky ” She said, smiling.
“Hi” He said, scratching the back of his neck. “Umm…nice hair”
Y/N smiled, tilting her head slightly.
“Thank you” she said, a small blush spreading on her cheeks.
Bucky blushed at the way she looked at him.
“I gotta go meet Natasha” Y/N said.
“Ok” Bucky said, nodding. “See you at the club”
“Yeah” Y/N said, her heart beating fast.
Bucky watched her walk away, and turned to walk straight into Steve.
Steve had a grin plastered to his face.
“What ?” Bucky asked.
“What what ?” Steve asked, raising his eyebrows. “I know it”
“Steve” Bucky said shaking his head.
“Shes a good girl, Buck” Steve said. “Shes perfect for you”
The two friends grinned at eachother.
