Charlie, being a polymorous himbo, likes to think he’s in a harem anime and attempt to flirt like a true Casanova; While some like the cut of his jib, most of the time he gets slapped around like it’s an episode of Johnny Bravo, as you can see from the above entry… Allan is definitely an Instagram model, he gets annoyed when his friends occasionally photobomb his shoots.

Whenever Glep’s tablet is charging he actually goes outside and plays like a good little critter…just kidding, he actually just uses his phone until THAT needs more juice and his tablet’s fully charged. Rinse and repeat, baby! Until that day where Alan took pity on this 1000+ y/o IPad baby and made him go on a convoluted scavenger hunt to find his devices. In response to this kindly deed, Glep MOD’ed Alan’s computer so that whenever it booted up, it would play the famous RickRoll in its entirety without skipping or pausing (Alan could kill Glep now).

Charlie definitely plays Baldur’s Gate 3.

Pim dresses up like a little magical girl-style cupid on Valentine’s Day (with fluffy wings, frilly white dress with bows and a heart brooch) to make couples and singles alike smile, he continues to be lauded by the public to be the absolute cutest thing on the planet earth even when he accidentally shot one of his arrows into Mr. Frog’s window. Mr. Frog resisted the urge to chase the little pink bastard down the street in a fit of primordial rage had it not been for his fear of being cancelled again.

Ok let’s see here…

I feel like this whole thing has just been a domino fall of unfortunate events. Had the poor old grandmother raising her two orphaned grandkids raised them more equally then perhaps they wouldn’t have grown up resenting each other. Or perhaps if May had said something along the lines of “I guess we’re even now” when she rescued oom and told her about how she was rescued by “oom” all the years ago. Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps. It really just sucks all around.

Ai, the grandma, and May were all like “when oom recovers we’ll tell her everything” meanwhile Jan is over there throwing oom straight into the deep end of her memories and bringing her to her house and showing her the wedding photos and everything. You’re a real one Jan ✊🏽

Despite everything that has happened I still don’t hate Oom, i am still very much an Oom apologizer ᖍ(ツ)ᖌ . Like, yes, she said some VERY hurtful things, but she was heartbroken because she found out that the girl she loves is actually in love with the twin sister whose shadow she feels she has been living in her entire life! My heart absolutely broke when she saw Ai and may hugging and then later ai lies straight to her face about it all. That ultimatum though smh that was just cruel 😔😔😔. NOT COOL OOM!

PimPangJan 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ i just…..my sweet sweet Pim 😣. From the preview for next ep it looked like Pang and Jan had matching aprons on so maybe they’ll end up working together and giving their relationship a go. Meanwhile I guess Pim and Oom can carpool to therapy together ☹️.

Extra random thoughts:

- may keeps bringing up how ai telling her to be strong inspired her while growing up or whatever AND YET she seems to always forget THAT OOM SAID THE SAME TO HER IN THE HOSPITAL! Oom told her not to let her blindness keep her down but to fight to become like the “old may” again. Sure the circumstances were very different but still!

-Speaking of that, May being rescued was a pivotal moment in her life and a memory she had kept in her heart all this time, AND STILL, despite May recounting the entire encounter, Ai CANT REMEMBER HER AT ALL. 😂

- May wearing white to meet Ben’s mom while everyone else was in black but she looked SO FUCKING GOOD that we let it slide.

- I didn’t realize it was so easy to get a book published. Ai and Aoey (mate) both got their books published super fast lol

this is a long one, i'm so sorry.

what a fucking amazing episode, wasn't it? i had so many feelings while watching this one and the only one i could actually pinpoint as annoyed was during the whole love triangle situation, and even then i felt sorry for the girls (mainly jan and pim, who am i trying to fool). in true episode 11 fashion, they stabbed you and twisted the knife to leave you bleeding and i was so satisfied they did that.

this whole situation started from a misunderstanding. if oon didn't trade places with oom when they were teens, then she would have never met may, and yes, then may wouldn't grow the guts to stand up for herself then, and would probably just stay like her father's minion following her mother's footsteps. it was all happy accidents until they all snowballed into a web of lies and deception and i don't have it in me to condemn them because to a certain degree, i do understand them all at this point.

maybe except may who had the bigger picture sooner, everyone was so scared.

oom distanced herself from may when she found out may's first love was oon, and only told her once she was in bed, blind and mentally trashed (and i totally agree with you here, both oom and oon told may to stand up and fight, to not give up and face life, and you can see how much she actually cared for may. my heart breaks for her every time because she truly thought may was the one for her, and then to find out that this wasn't it, she wasn't in love with oom, she was in love with the idea of the girl who saved her all those years ago) (which is so funny when oonmay are back to the place where they first met, and oon can't for the life of her remember may at all. i guess it's a testament that she's in love with the may in the present and not the idealized past).

oon was scared to not be chosen by may and kept lying and lying to her about her identity to the point she started hurting her own feelings. and then she lied again because grandma said they couldn't tell oom about oonmay since her always fragile sister wouldn't take the news well (which is true given what we had in this ep, but see how oom also tried prying for information early and they just brushed it off and tell her not to worry, and then she went to jan, and jan told her everything, and oom once again asked oon, and oon just lied again [understandably btw, pls don't think i think ill of her, i love my girl]. and that became something bigger [because i truly believe oom would throw a fit regardless, but it wouldn't be so big if she had found out from oon and not from her own memories coming rushing back at full force all at once]).

then on a smaller side we still have kosol, who kept the secret about being the responsible for may's accident because he ofc was afraid to go to jail and also leave ben to fend for himself.

as you might have noticed, friend, i, like you, am also an oom apologist. that doesn't mean i don't think she was extremely unfair and hurtful, but i also think it's so unfair to downplay her feelings in this situation as if she doesn't care for the people involved. let's remember that she recently came out from a coma, has been lied to, and in her head probably, have been made a fool of since no one bothered to tell her what happened (including telling her about the dead husband who she didn't love, but was one of her guarantees she could be loved. not saying she wasn't at fault. i felt extremely bad about paul in this episode, he seemed like the most genuine person, to be honest.)

i gotta talk about may and film for a second too, before i talk about the messy triangle. film is amazing. she's like a force of nature especially in emotional scenes. i got tear eyed in that hospital scene where oom confronts her and she's so desperate and sad and lost, but this one takes the crown. it was heartbreaking seeing her in that pier. that whole monologue of "when did anyone ever ask me what i wanted" felt like she was taking out my heart and squeezing it with her bare hands. i love this woman. i love her acting. i love love love her an absurd amount. that's all. i'm normal again.

i still hate the love triangle, i'm sorry. what was even pang kissing pim for? "these are my feelings for you," the fuck they are! you've been indifferent to this woman since ep 1, love, why did you have to kiss her (tho ngl, pim is so down for pang STILL, it's a little pathetic. don't get me wrong, i love a pathetic in love person, but that works better when the feelings are reciprocated). i've said this before, but at least the pangjan kiss was good. like real good. i need ciize to kiss more women from now on, it's a need i have deep inside me.

i'm so sorry for the pluto cast who'll have the final episode fanmeeting and will have to watch that surrounded by fans because i know for a fact at least namtanfilm will bawl their eyes out. i know i will cry like a baby regardless because it's just how this works.

Comfort

This fic takes place 5+ years after the end of Crooked Kingdom. These lovelies of course belong to Leigh Bardugo.

Sunlight steamed through the window, basking the room in a warm, hazy light. It was summer in Ketterdam and the usual fog had lifted. Inej sleepily blinked open her eyes and rolled over. Her time on land had slowly morphed from business to leisure. During her first few years at sea she would only return to port to gather intelligence and supplies. The crew would take a short leave but for her it never really felt like down time, there was too much to be done. But as years dragged, she found herself spending more time on land and more time visiting instead of working. Now, land made her lazy. At sea her mornings were early and her days long. In Ketterdam, that had stopped being true.

Inej took a deep breath and stretched her limbs and mind before turning to the mussed hair and ruffled clothes of the boy next to her. There was a time when this scene would have been as startling as it had been to first see his hands bare against his cane. Long ago, she thought she would never know him like this. Never see him restful and relaxed. Kaz always started nights laying on his back, hands clasped on his chest, eyes on the ceiling. She assumed it was habit from years of resting without sleeping or sleeping with his guard up. But morning Kaz revealed the beautiful boy beneath the armor.

A few years ago she stopped staying at the Van Eck mansion and had started staying with Kaz. In the beginning, it was a lot of sleepless nights. It was both of them learning how to share a bed with someone and learning how to take down this piece of their armor. But now...she grinned at the sight. Every morning now, and for a while, she found Kaz asleep on his chest, limbs sprawling and face soft. On one occasion, although she wouldn’t dare mention it to another soul, he was drooling. On these mornings Kaz Brekker, the bastard of the barrel, was replaced by a sleepy boy in total comfort.

She reached out and gently brushed a few tufts of hair away from his face. He stirred and released a deep sigh.

“What time is it?” His voice was muffled by the pillow.

“Just after 5 bells.”

“I see the sun has rudely decided to awake, I could use a few more hours of sleep.” He turned on his side to face her, one hand tucked beneath the pillow and the other carefully placed between them.

She hummed and reached for him slowly, gently brushing his knuckles with her fingertips. “You should rest then.”

“Does the captain have anything pressing today?”

“No more than the Barrell Boss.”

clearly you have no idea what a power forward is, because you said, and I quote, “whatever the fuck you were talking about”, so let’s review that first. according to wikipedia, a power forward is “a forward who is big and strong, equally capable of playing physically or scoring goals and would most likely have high totals in both points and penalties.” wikipedia ALSO mentions that power forwards are also often referred to as the ‘complete’ hockey player.“ (source) wikipedia not a good enough source? ok, let’s look at a bleacher report article, where the author defines power forward as “a big guy who puts up points and likes to throw his weight around.” (source) let’s throw in another definition, just for good measure…oh, how about one from former NHL head coach Barry Melrose: “There is a certain criteria a player has to fulfill to meet my definition of a great power forward. He has to be a frontline player, he has to be very physical and he has to fight. A power forward to me is not just a big guy who scores goals. He is a big, mean, nasty, physical, tough guy to play against as well as being a very good hockey player.” specifically, they “have a lot of penalty minutes, they have a lot of goals, but they [are] also the type of guy the other team didn’t like to play against.” (source) so, to put it neatly, the main components of a power forward in the NHL are:

1. high point production2. physicality3. lots of PIM

now that we’re all clear on the definition of a power forward, let’s move into what we all came here to talk about, tom wilson. let’s look at his stats from the past 3 years and compare them.

even just looking at his goals, assists, and point totals you can see the offensive improvement. PLUS the 15-16 and 16-17 stats are for a full 82-game season, but he’s only played 66 games so far this year. he’s ALREADY surpassed all 3 of those stats. additionally, look at the MASSIVE increase in shooting percentage he’s had this season! he went from 7.4% last year to 11.1% this year. that’s a team-wide top-10 stat.

speaking of team-wide stats, let’s check on a few other stats and see where he falls this season (team stats accurate prior to tonight’s game):average TOI: 10th (15:50)points: 7th (30)+/-: 6th (+7)

another interesting stat to look at is point shares, or an estimate of the number of points contributed by a player. his PS for this season is 2.8, ranked 12th on the team! and then we have OPS (points contributed by a player due to his offense) and DPS (points contributed by a player due to his defense). wilson’s OPS is 1.3 and his DPS is 1.4, ranked 10th and 8th on the team respectively. those are great stats!

still not convinced on his offensive production? let’s look at an article RMNB published titled “Tom Wilson is the new bacon bits” (source) where they discussed Wilson’s top-line production. I could re-type the important points but I think a screenshot will suffice, no? here are some fun stats on how wilson has improved the two lines he’s skated with the most this season:

but point production and good offense isn’t the only marker of a power forward, right? I know what you must be saying right about now: “but what about his penalties?! he’s such a dirty player! he spends so much time in the box!!” yeah. yeah he does. but remember the second and third points we listed at the beginning? physicality and lots of PIM. wilson is currently ranked 2nd in the league in PIM with 166 on the season (source). he is ranked 8th in the league in hits with 207 (source). so yeah. but I would like to point something out about his penalties. some of the calls against him are due to what I like to call the “Skating While Tom Wilson Effect”. wilson gets called on some things that other players don’t because of his reputation. and whose fault is that, you may ask? yeah, it’s his. because in prior seasons, he was more of a goon. but this season I think he’s trying to distance himself from that label and grow into the player we thought and hoped he would be when he was drafted. he doesn’t take nearly as many boneheaded penalties as he used to. and I am by no means trying to excuse every time he gets sent to the sin bin, because sometimes he does something stupid or blatant and you’re like “oh that’s definitely 2 minutes.” but tom wilson is by NO means the only player to whom that applies. you’re telling me that your fave player has never done something stupid to get sent to the box? I don’t think so.

I would ALSO like to add something that not a lot of people (especially people who share your opinions, anon) talk about, and that is the fact that while tom wilson spends a lot of time in the box, he also draws a lot of penalties. wilson has drawn 30 penalties this season, which not only leads the team, but is also tied for 7th in the league so far. so yes, he spends a lot of time in the box, but he offsets it by drawing on average .462 penalties a game. bottom line, tom wilson has been playing top-6 minutes this season and he deserves it.

Cursed

So I watched cursed the day it came out and I have tried to write about it since.

The thing is I like the show. The idea is good, the production value is alright and stay even throughout the serie (unlike the witcher that went between good and cheap in every episode) and there is a diverse cast and some good characters.

But i was unable to feel for these characters. When i arrived at the end of the saison ( which end on a cliffhanger obviously ) I didn’t have the want to have the new episodes asap. I was like “ alright that was nice” and then went to something else. Since I’d finished the TV show, I haven't really thought about it.

So ye alright but missing something. And frankly I’m unable to tell what is it.

In the good point :

I’m personally not very into fantasy books any more so although i know that the fae are kind of popular right now, I have no knowledge about them and the show introduce me to them. They did a good job on the different races, with globally good make up and prosthesis but I felt like there were a lot of the culture that was brush passed. They explain what was need to understand so it alright.

The cast is diverse, Arthur is Black and Morgana is Lesbian. Great point on me. The word is fantasy so the first one who come with “historical fantasy” can go to hell.

The relationships are alright, I was a worried about the romance plot but even through it’s present and important, it doesn’t take the spotlight from the actual war storyline. And there is no love triangle, which I saw coming with the character of Gwaine but it gets cut down after only one episode and doesn't push the men to actually act fucking stupid. A win in a YA fiction.

The music has some good moment, mostly average but they were a few scene when I remember noticing and enjoying the music.

Speaking of music, the intro is well done, with many little details and a interesting style of art between the fantasy book cover and the stain glass. The intro is reflected on the transition that cut from a character to an other. These transition are a little bit jarring at first but after two episode you get used to it and they are actually totally part of the story with some piece of narration into them, so not just a pretty effect .

Finally I will say that the story is surprising for someone who likes the legend of Arthur. I was expecting something from the general catch phrase “If the sword choose a queen” so i wasn’t sure where they were going when they start introducing Arthur and some knight start popping around but yet I feel like it was well brought and it seems to be though more as a prequel for the legend.

My two big peeves with the show would be :

Too many characters, we share the screen between more and more characters as the show goes on and some of them don’t really bring anything at the narration. The character of Pim, the best friend, is that : the best friend. She is introduced in the cliché best friend way, is revolving around the Nimue and when she gets her own storyline, it’s actually underused and in the global of things unimportant. I get that it’s a way that introduced the whole viking thing but they could have end at the same place without her and even the vikings themselves are kind of useless. They just bring one last fight for Arthur, which wasn’t actually necessary and just use screen time that could be use for other characters. I’m not even going to start about the religious girl and the monk because these two were just feeling like planting for future saison and everything they did could have been done by some background character without all this time taken.

In global, I just didn’t care about anybody that much ( I didn’t even react much when Nimue got shot) and the relationships didn’t make me invest ( the love, friendship, father/daughter, mother/son ) and I wasn’t really feeling sympathy for them even if they right really hard ( with Merlin and Uther the most ).

It’s  goes with the first point but i felt like the story was too busy, like i said too many people to follow at the same time to really spend moment of real relation building between them. With storyline that could have been let out of the big picture with the same results.

Finally, I don’t want to be nick-picking but it shock me at some point - the map of all this world seems as big as a video game. Everything seems to be near, with character going to one point to a other without real feeling of time or distance ( which is not help by the costume staying awfully clean at all time ). I was having Zelda twilight princess in my head as the map of the story when i should be way  bigger than that, more like breath of the wild.

So yeah i don’t know, I watched it, it was a good bingewatch but i don’t really care about it. If you like women with sword  and/or retelling of Arthurian legends then go on, that’s why i picked it up myself.
