Explaning Rei as a character and some small backstory things

Although now a "cryptid-human and bunny person" Rei originally started off as a type of Tulpa like character, in a way accidentally made by Sebastian because he was trying to cope with his situation

Although he could only really access Rei via dreams, Rei is more in the subconscious mind area if that makes any sense

Since he often sleeps to escape the bizarre situations he would stick around Rei in said dreams, befriending them more and more

Because Rei is a type of coping mechanism,i made it so that they protect sebastian mentally at least by defeating creatures in said dreams that represent the household (as you know bad thoughts create nightmares which also causes many more issues to a person already suffering lol)

Reis main purpose of existence is to protect Sebastian

Although wanting to make a bigger impact on protecting him via real world, they would set off to try and enter the outside world

I plan to make a comic going more in depth on their journey but to keep it short , despite being informed that they cant leave without an actual vessel to possess they still went for it

When they did manage to spawn into the woods they experienced Amnesia and forgot their purpose and who or where they are , with no vessel to posess their body at the start was really flexible and floppy like a rubber hose animation (their whole being trying to adjust to reality with no real body) + their vision being based off of the way they perceive people (this effect stayed)

They Stumbled upon Present day problem robert takeuichi in the woods who attempted to recruit them, spent a week traveling the woods together before being fully seperated by a "werewoof infected person" (not sure what to call them) attack

Rei pretty much ran into the roadside where they got hit by the ivory familys truck and was then taken home because Luther wanted to help them recover (main reason why Rei really is respectful towards him and sees him as a normal human) although would later allow Randal to keep them as his pet

Since they forgot who sebastian was they had to completely start over, again Rei made it their main goal to escape the house with him (thats all i could think of at the moment.)

do you have any headcanons for what happened to giselle’s store now that she doesn’t have it?

I do !! but you're gonna have to listen to me ramble about canon a bit first, because I'm the number one Disenchanted defender 💖

There's actually nothing in the movie or novel that states Giselle lost her studio, and it lowkey (highkey) confuses me when people say she did. The movie fails to directly mention Andalasia Fashions, sure, but that doesn't automatically mean she lost/sold it ? And in the junior novel, Giselle tells Malvina she plans on opening a new studio in Monroeville (which she eventually does). So, the idea that Giselle gave up her job/stopped working and is nothing more than a stay at home wife/mother simply isn't true. But also, I think it's a bit silly that people are so mad at the possibility she might be a stay at home wife/mother. like why is that so offensive ?? She owned her dress business for ten years, and worked regularly, maybe she just wants a break?

I think a lot of people also forget, or simply missed the line about Sofia's age, but she's only a year old. She needs her mama, and Giselle doesn't have to go back to work yet if she doesn't want to. And Robert definitely makes enough to provide for their family on his own, so she doesn't really need to go back either. It's possible Giselle simply wanted to be home with her baby, and took a longer maternity leave because she could. And I don't really see why that's an issue.

Also, I never see anyone bring up the fact that Giselle is definitely dealing with postpartum depression ?? Like, she's so obviously depressed in the sequel, and you can't convince me that's not at least partially linked to the fact that she recently gave birth. It's possible she just wasn't in the right headspace to return to work yet.

Now, I do wish the movie had kept the line about her new studio in, for sure, and I don't get why it was cut, but at the end of the day, they never once mention Giselle closing it down, or losing it, or selling it, or giving up work completely. In fact, during the opening narration, Giselle is shown sleeping with fabric and sketchbooks around her. So, she could've been working from home, too.

It's also worth mentioning that in the jr. novel, Giselle is shown working in her studio, but she was overworking herself/not finishing until well after midnight, so again, my girl was simply exhausted, and needed a break 🤧

Okay, whew, sorry. Now that that's over, let's dive into my headcanons 🫡

Personally, I headcanon that her pregnancy was pretty hard on her. She was overjoyed, of course, and excited to have her baby, but it was still an exhausting, and overall not very fun pregnancy. I also hc that she ended up needing an emergency C-section, and all of this really took a toll on her mental health. This made the choice to return to work pretty difficult, and Giselle ended up taking a longer maternity leave.

I do think that she tried going back. Giselle tried to do a few days here and there, for a just a few hours, but it wasn't ever easy. Her head (and heart) just wasn't in it, and she eventually goes back on leave.

Then they move to Monroeville. Personally, I think Giselle kept Andalasia Fashions open, because I don't see why she'd close it (and canon never said she did). I think she still owns the business, and left May (Nancy's assistant from the first movie) in charge. I headcanon she and Giselle became really close once they started working together, and May had no issues taking over.

As I mentioned above, Giselle tells Malvina she plans on opening a new studio.

There's no timeline mentioned for when she opens it, but it's mentioned that she eventually opens it right next to Robert's law firm.

As much as I love the movie's ending, I think this ending is really sweet, and I would've love to see it. But I definitely consider it canon, and I have a small fic here (x) where she and Robert discuss opening their places side by side if you want to read 😋

So yeah. I think she's still the owner of Andalasia Fashions, and she definitely stops by, she's not ignoring it, but she regularly works in her new studio, A Fairy-Tale Life.

In short, yes, Giselle stopped working, but that's because she just had a baby, and she was battling with depression. I think she's far too restless to stay away from work forever, but I also don't think she's the kind of person who wants to leave her kids with anyone that isn't family or a close friend. like, she isn't against daycare, of course, but I think Giselle would hate having to leave her baby at a center when she's able to be home herself. and Robert is a pretty successful lawyer. have you seen their apartment ? the director of the first movie said he and Patrick would often joke that he must be a millionaire if he lives in that building/that area. and I don't think Robert is that rich, of course, but I definitely think they're wealthy enough that Giselle can stay home if she wants.

jonsa, “children of dune,” & women’s disenfranchisement

this is basically a part 2 of this meta i posted last night. if you haven’t read that, i recommend reading it before this one to get the full context! a certain anon (hi!) challenged me to expand upon my thoughts by demonstrating how jonsa might be a response to and/or critique of the ideas presented in the dune series.

i’ll put the rest of the post below the cut for those wanting to avoid dune spoilers!

westerosi historical parallels

i think one of the strongest arguments for linking jonsa (and specifically the bran/sansa/jon trio) to children’s leto ii/ghanima/farad’n resolution is the fact that grrm has sprinkled variations on this relationship throughout westerosi history.

if we look for the pattern of “woman is married to one man but her children are fathered by a different man,” we of course find it several times in the series:

laenor velaryon/rhaenyra targaryen/harwin strong - rhaenyra’s velaryon children were in fact fathered by her lover, harwin strong--apparently because laenor was gay and had no interest in sleeping with his wife. (or going by hotd canon just couldn’t impregnate her for undisclosed reasons).

aegon iv/queen naerys/aemon the dragonknight - while the truth of the accusations against naerys and aemon is dubious at best, the idea that the two of them were secret lovers and that he might have fathered the heir to the throne remains firmly rooted in collective westerosi memory.

robert baratheon/cersei lannister/jaime lannister - this is the most important iteration of this pattern for the main series. we have confirmation from both cersei and jaime that all three of her children are his and not robert’s.

honorable mentions for: the possibility that aegon the conqueror’s two sons might not have been his due to infertility on his part, and the possibility of at least some of aegon ii’s children with helaena actually being aemond’s.

you’ll note that all of these examples echo leto ii/ghanima/farad’n (right down to the prevalence of sibling incest within them) in one or more ways.

you’ll also note that the majority of these led to disputed successions and that all of the children produced by these relationships were involved in succession disputes in one way or another.

the bastardy of rhaenyra’s sons was used as a reason to deny her place in the succession. the alleged bastardy of queen naerys’s son was used as justification for the blackfyre rebellions. and, of course, cersei’s children’s bastardy led to the war of five kings. aegon the conqueror’s son maegor usurped his niece and nephew’s claim to the throne, and aegon ii’s children were caught up in the dance of the dragons.

this leads us to the question, if the arrangement between leto ii, ghanima, and farad’n was shown to be such a useful solution to a succession crisis in children, why do similar relationships show up over and over again in grrm’s series as causes of succession crises?

bastardy and women’s rights

i think what we are seeing is grrm responding to--and likely critiquing--the position of women in dune’s society by focusing on the issue of bastardy.

in the society in which the dune series takes place, a child need not be born of a legal spouse in order to inherit its parent’s position, title, wealth, etc. for example, paul atreides himself is the son of his father’s concubine, jessica. paul’s father, duke leto atreides, never married jessica but kept her instead as a concubine. similarly, paul’s own heirs are the children not of his legal wife princess irulan but of his concubine, chani kynes.

the society’s lack of interest in ensuring heirs are born of recognized legal unions is what allows the arrangement between leto ii, ghanima, and farad’n to be successful. nobody cares that ghanima’s children weren’t fathered by her husband. they’re atreides princes and princesses regardless of their biological parentage, which means that farad’n’s fatherhood (and therefore the children’s corrino ancestry) can be openly acknowledged and leveraged for political benefit.

but that has not been the case in many real societies, and for good reason.

legally disinheriting bastards is a form of protection for the rights and positions of married women in strongly patriarchal societies.

we see within the world of dune itself how men exploit the society’s laissez-faire attitude toward bastardy to disenfranchise women.

duke leto atreides never marries his concubine jessica because keeping the position of his legal wife available gives him political leverage. he can dangle the possibility of a marriage alliance in front of potential allies to draw them in. refusing to marry jessica benefits him politically. and the fact that he can easily name paul as his heir without marrying jessica means that he can use her to give him the heir he wants without offering her the legal rights and privileges that becoming the wife of a duke would afford her.

similarly, paul himself exploits the non-existence of bastardy to disempower his wife princess irulan (and to deny his beloved chani the position of empress consort). he uses irulan’s claim to the throne to gain legitimacy for his rule but by fathering his heirs through chani, he ensures that irulan’s position remains an extremely weak one. 

the first book in the series, dune, famously ends with jessica consoling chani by telling her that history will remember them as wives. irulan gets erased despite having the legal title, but while chani is paul’s wife in many real senses, she is denied the legal position and its attendant privileges and protections. both of the women in paul’s life end up in weakened legal and political positions due to his choice of heirs.

in grrm’s series, we see through catelyn’s eyes that the prospect of a husband’s bastards usurping his legal heirs’ position is a very real fear for women in this type of feudal, patriarchal society. in such societies, a woman’s position in the world is determined first by her father, then by her husband, and ultimately by her son. if one of catelyn’s own children succeeds ned, catelyn can be assured of protection, support, and a position in society even after ned’s death. however, if ned’s bastard son, jon snow, inherits, where does that leave cat? she’s no longer the mother of the lord or lady of winterfell, a position that guarantees her a safe future. she has to hope that one of her children, at least, is still in a position to support her--or throw herself on the mercy of another family member. her future becomes incredibly precarious.

we see over and over again in a song of ice and fire that grrm is centering this issue of bastardy, of how it affects questions of succession, yes, but also how it affects the lives of those it touches. we very much get jon’s perspective on how awful it is to shackle a human being with this social position of bastard--but we also get the flipside: how awful it is that women are so disenfranchised that they have no choice but to fear their husbands’ illegitimate children.

furthermore, while these societal structures allow men to exploit women’s bodies to create the children they want, when women try to take control of their own bodies to create the children they want, the society punishes them. we see that in the examples of rhaenyra, naerys, and cersei. in dune, we get a taste of it with jessica, who is derided by her bene gesserit sisters for choosing to give birth to a son instead of the daughter they ordered her to have... except that jessica chose to have a son because it was what leto wanted, and she wanted to make her lover happy. either way, jessica’s body and its reproductive possibilities are not hers to use as she desires. they are meant to be tools for others.

as i have explained, these issues very much exist in both dune and a song of ice and fire, and yet frank herbert seems fairly uninterested in exploring how they affect women and, through them, the wider society. jessica, irulan, and chani’s perspectives are largely sidelined to focus on the men’s stories.

jonsa as a response

in a song of ice and fire, grrm made the crucial world-building choice to have the majority of westerosi society make a legal distinction between the rights of legitimate and illegitimate children. (perhaps someone else has spent some time musing on the somewhat different attitudes of dorne? if so, i’d love to hear your thoughts). if he is writing in response to the ideas presented by herbert in dune, this would be a deliberate choice and a key difference between the societies presented by each.

in the dune series, while leto ii loves his twin sister ghanima deeply (in fact, they both hint that when they are older their love might have a romantic dimension), she ultimately becomes little more than a pawn in his millennia-long plan to save humanity. to put it bluntly, he breeds her with farad’n as a step toward fixing certain genetic traits within the atreides line. 

ghanima accepts her part in all of this, but that’s really all she can do. while ghanima may have preferred to have a true marriage with leto (or perhaps some other life entirely), refusing leto’s plan would mean refusing to help him save all of humanity! how could she be so heartless? herbert characterizes her as weaker than leto, both in terms of their prescient abilities but also in terms of moral fiber. ghanima lacks the strength of will to make the sacrifice that leto does and undergo the physical transformation that removes him forever from normal humanity--she must settle for making the “lesser” sacrifice of becoming a pawn in his breeding scheme. (there’s a lot of gender essentialist bullshit happening within dune, as well, but that’s a whole can of worms i don’t have the time to open right now). 

in the end, ghanima is no less disenfranchised than her grandmother jessica, her mother chani, or her stepmother irulan. her life and her body belong to leto and his golden path, not to herself. (anyone picking up on the rhaegar/lyanna parallels?)

at the heart of each of the westerosi parallels i mentioned earlier is also a disenfranchised woman. rhaenyra must marry the man her father chooses and somehow give them both heirs even when he doesn’t want to sleep with her. naerys, too, is forced into marriage with her very awful brother aegon when it seems likely she would have been much happier with aemon (helaena seems to be in a similar position with aegon ii and aemond). cersei is married off to robert, who calls her another woman’s name in bed, physically abuses her, and fathers countless bastards while married to her. 

but the trio of bran, sansa, and jon will be different.

first of all, the close, loving family relationships among the starks set them apart from virtually every other family we see presented throughout the series. this will be key in making the bran/sansa/jon balance work. precisely because of the relationship they formed with jon while growing up, bran and sansa will know that they can trust him to support their rule without threat of usurpation. similarly, because bran and sansa love and trust each other (heh heh see what i did there) as siblings, they can share power without the need for a marriage alliance.

unlike leto, bran will have no need to marry sansa in order to control her and her claim. this removes the need for sansa to marry one man while having children with another. and unlike farad’n and ghanima, jon will be someone that sansa has already formed a bond of love and trust with at the point that they marry--and someone that she wants to marry.

this is why the romance between jon and sansa will be a key factor in differentiating their relationship from the previous patterns. their love for each other will allow them to break the mold because their marriage will give them what they both dream of having rather than denying them what they’ve always wanted.

unlike the women in the previous examples in westerosi history (and unlike ghanima), sansa’s marriage will empower her. sansa will be queen in her own right, not consort. she will be her brother’s equal in position and power, not his pawn and certainly not his baby-making machine. sansa will be able to have children with both her husband and the man she loves, because they will be the same person. and, crucially, sansa will be able to have the children she has dreamed of having: stark children, to replace the family she lost and fill winterfell again with the love and laughter she remembers from her childhood.

there is also the element of this arrangement resolving catelyn’s fears, though catelyn herself (even as stoneheart) will likely never experience this resolution. jon yields his potential claim not once, but twice, to catelyn’s children. and yet, jon still gets winterfell, gets to be a stark, and his children will have a legitimate claim to the home he loves.

king bran/queen sansa/consort jon might very well be grrm’s answer to the issues inherent in herbert’s trio of leto ii/ghanima/farad’n. it would almost certainly be an answer to the parallels grrm himself has placed into westerosi history of rhaenyra, naerys, cersei, and others.

this is why i think that jonsa will be part of grrm’s end game: because it works not only politically but also romantically...and corrects the wrongs we have witnessed over and over again in previous relationships within the series.

- Took care of a stray dog when he was little and called it Luigi. His parents didn’t let him have it but he secretly took care of it whenever he showed up at his house. He was an old stray so he died after a couple years. He really wants a dog but has yet to find the time to adopt one

- Had some online friends growing up. Most of them he’s lost touch with completely, but he has a select few he still talks to occasionally

- Cameo is one of his longest-lasting online friends. They friended each other in a gaming lobby in an MMO game when they were teens and later talked through other sites like Skype (or whatever it is in their world) and now they hang out irl

- Like any gamer Taylor has had his rage quitting moments. When he was younger, they were a lot tamer but only because his parents would get mad at him for being a nuisance but he lets it all out now. The worst thing he did was impailing the tv with a broom by throwing it like a javelin

- Met Chuck as his dorm mate when he was attending college as a computer science major. After they both graduated, they decided to still be roommates to save on rent

- Knows how to rollerblade and is sometimes seen doing it on the sidewalks of Tastyville. He’s pretty good at it though he’d be lying if he said he hasn’t almost been run over in the street before because of it

- He can’t be productive unless he’s listening to music. In canon his favorite music artist is DJ Honey Buster (Hugo), but he’s not that picky. He’s even a longtime follower of Simone’s Lofi channel

- Has heavy footsteps whenever he walks or runs, and they’re so loud he’s gotten noise complaints from his neighbors, so he has to have carpet all over the floors to be quieter

- Good luck trying to get through to him whenever he’s listening to music. You’ll have to yank his earbuds to snap him out of it, which he hates people doing to him

- A horrible sleeper. He gets around like 5-6 hours of sleep at most every day and is fueled by energy drinks. Chuck has to be the one to get him to sleep sometimes

- Likes to do late-night convenience store runs to get snacks and instant ramen along with Chuck. It’s just fun and the town at night is very quiet and calm… unless Dynamoe is on the loose I guess

- After college Taylor and Chuck both had their own issues to work out which did affect their friendship for some time. This included the fact that they were crushing on each other but didn’t wanna ruin their friendship

- It was a hard thing to come to terms with, but one night alone in their apartment, Taylor took initiative and confessed and now they’re dating

- Huge retro nerd who loves collecting games and consoles from the 90s and such

- He’s the one guy at the arcade going absolutely ham on Dance Dance Revolution (or stomp stomp whatever it was called) and attracting a crowd because he’s that good at it

- Once got so many tickets playing arcade games that he got a roomba from the prize booth as a joke since he didn’t know what else to do with his tickets. Though later, him and Chuck grew attached to the Roomba and named it “Sir Robert the First”, even giving it a little top hat and putting googly eyes on it

- Not a content creator, but he’s a reoccurring person in Tohru’s gaming streams. It was totally on accident, they were playing a shooting game where people were in teams and he just happened to be in Tohru’s team. They made a pretty good duo so Tohru friend requested him and now he sometimes appears in her streams whenever he has time

- Used to be pretty hardcore into roleplaying back in the day. Especially loved DnD. The classes he usually gravitated towards was the bard or the sorcerer

- Used to have a side-hustle as a game tester for indie game creators. You wouldn’t think he’d quit doing something like this, but game-testing was too structured for him (it’s more about interacting with the game in super specific ways and stuff to make sure everything works out)

First up we have: Sleeping On The Ceiling - Friday Pilots Club

there's a lot of lines from this song that fits really well with lil V's outlook, his manic energy, his willingness to crash and burn and his tendency to cut people off for it. he's even trying to convince others it's better to just leave him to his own devices ("Don't you feel just like you're floating now? When you cut me off and let me go.") it's an effort to feel okay about his situation that works 90% of the time. the song's also insanely short, like his lifespan!

Lil V's a merc and he doesn't mind all the blood on his hands or his career choice in general. He does, however, mind it when people try to guilt him about it and say he could 'be better'. Takemura, Hellman and Arasaka's attempts of trying to steer him--be it to give his life up to restore some so-called honor or to give his head full of data up for so-called science-- were met with his knee-jerk reaction of 'FUCK CORPOS!' so naturally by the end when he realized Hanako can't do jackshit for him either, he's pretty down with torching Arasaka Tower. Then again, this might be because he's already influenced by Johnny which brings us to the next section:

There was a point where Lil V's not sure about what Johnny's trying to do, what to think of him (ghost? man? terrorist? friend? enemy??). there's the obvious instinctual fear that Johnny's just puppeteering him from the inside out. Eventually Lil V decides that even if Johnny is influencing him to do stuff it doesn't count as Johnny manipulating him if he agreed to it. Johnny might be a storm but V's the sigh on a hurricane etc etc. Chippin' In is there cus out of all the SAMURAI songs we get to listen to, that's Lil V's favorite.

this, to me, is THE song to describe Johnny and V. Two way mirror, one-way street? Good cop, bad cop routine? Johnny being a liar and a leech, V who cheated death and is a thief? Alt mentioning that for all of Johnny's bark, he's just code as an engram and therefore 'nothing underneath'? The way if you do dont fear the reaper, V gives up his chances at love and does a spite-fueled-solo attack that Johnny wholeheartedly endorse?? The way both of them are dead already? woowee!

inside you are two wolves moment. sometimes being everyone's ray of sunshine doesn't work out for lil v. "All jokes til' I start feeling like the punchline." is the key line here (and also in his personality in general)

Cha Cha Cha (Electronic Metal Remix) - Elxctro Drxgon, Käärijä

i made this playlist around the same time this song was makin the rounds. I liked the whole fast-paced sort of edgy facade fading away on the bridge for a bit when the 'narrator' starts getting drunk and becomes himself, which I think is a lot like how after his first death by Dexter DeShawn, Lil V was much more comfortable in his own skin. Also, metal remix version cus I think it fits his vibes more than the original one. Lil V's a pop-punk sort of guy!

i call this part 'Little V is inherently kind and gets a little scared of being loved, but doubles down and loves people harder about it'. Johnny is his best victim, considering even in canon Johnny's said how he's surprised with how V's stuck with him for 24/7 and he's still a friend.

he dug himself a too perfect of a grave with Johnny, one that he can't use once he climbed out of Mikoshi alone. and nobody gets why he's upset that he didn't get his ending that night because isn't it great that you're alive, V? that Johnny's gone now? that you have a second chance again? eventually he just cuts his ties and distances himself, basically surviving for the sake of it while hoping he'll actually find a better lead that changes his mind

lil v at his core's just a streetkid desperate for a home, one that he keeps finding and losing in certain intervals. i like to think that even though he doesn't survive for very long after Mikoshi, he'll find something that change his mind and he finds his way back home in the end :)

Pairing: Dean Winchester x Female!Reader

Castiel has never been to Bunker before, so when he sees it for the first time, he's shocked to say the least. You want to be there for him and to help him in whatever he needs, but everyone can tell you're distracted. The pain and the feeling of pushing down the issues with Robert is taking a toll on you.

You want to let it out, Dean knows you want to let it out, but you can't seem to muster enough courage to do so. You're scared the same thing will happen when your dad died... or worse. Dean needs to make sure you know he is there for you, and he has to come up with a plan to give you the safe space you're craving.

If you're going to move on like Charlie did, then you know you need to do this.

Dean's not having an easy time with this either. He's cried himself to sleep after he knows you've gone to bed, he has nightmares all the time, and he's trying to bottle it down himself. He's always wanted a son, and yeah, you two can make another one, but Robert was his first son.

It'll help if you two can cry about it together.

If you're going to complete the third trial, you have to know how to cure a demon. There must be something in this Bunker that will help with this, which is what Sam and Dean are doing. You're with Castiel since Dean refuses to be with him alone. Dean isn't over Castiel's betrayal, and he has every right not to be over it.

You just see more than what's in front you. Castiel was manipulated again, but this wasn't his fault.

"Please tell me that's everything," you say when Sam and Dean bring in the third round of boxes.

"Yeah, not even close," Dean chuckles. "You see, the Men of Letters kept files on every demonic possession for the last three hundred years. I mean, we've got Borden and Lizzy, all the way to Crane, Ichabod."

"That's impressive," you mutter.

"How are you feeling?" Dean asks his brother.

"Honestly, my whole body hurts. I feel nauseous and I'm starving at the same time, and everything smells like rotting meat."

"Maybe you should take a break," you suggest.

"Y/N, the only thing that's gonna make me feel better is finishing this."

"I'll go get you some food to keep your strength up."

Dean leaves just as Castiel walks into the room. Dean is still hurt, but like you said, it's understandable. It's easier to forgive him this time than last time, so you're on your way to.

"Morning. I like this bunker. It's orderly."

"Oh, give us a few months. Dean wants to get a ping-pong table."

"I've heard of that. It's a game, right?" Castiel groans as if he's still in pain.

"Are you okay?" you ask.

"My wound isn't healing as quickly as I'd hoped, but I am getting better. You're getting worse."

You get up and walk to Castiel before playing both hands on his cheeks. Your magic flows through his body, but it only heals a little bit. His wounds are far more extensive than your magic allows.

Still, Castiel appreciates the gesture.

"Thank you."

"Well, two trials down, one to go."

"Do you know what the final test is?"

"I have to cure a demon."

"Of what?" the angel chuckles.

"That's what we're trying to figure out."

"Well cure means to heal, make better, and to rehabilitate. Demons are scum and the lowest of the low. What if we're curing a demon of itself. You know, back to human?"

"I guess there's only one way to find out."

Dean returns with a plate of food for Sam--a soup he's good at making.

"Eat up. This is all I could make with what we have."

"I'll go food shopping soon," you promise.

"Sweetheart, I got it," Dean says and kisses your temple.

"Dean, I can go with you," Castiel offers, but he ignores him. "Dean. I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"For everything."

"Everything? Like ignoring us? How about bolting off with the Angel Tablet, then losing it because you didn't trust me or Y/N? You didn't trust us. Me."

"Yes."

"That's not gonna cut it. Not this time. So you can take your little apology and you cram it up your ass."

"Dean," you sigh.

"Dean, I thought I was doing the right thing."

"Yeah, you always do."

"Hey, uh, do we have a room 7B?" Sam asks, breaking the tension.

"Should be downstairs. Why?"

"I need help. Both of you."

Joanna and Maryann stay upstairs with Castiel while you three head downstairs to the storage room.

"Why would you leave them alone with him? He can't be trusted," Dean argues with you.

"You don't hear her when Joanna asks for her uncle Cassie. I trust him even if you don't. You don't have to trust him, you just have to trust me."

"Dude, go easy on Cas, okay. He's one of the good guys," Sam backs you up.

"If anybody else, and I mean anybody, pulled that kind of shit? I would stab them in their neck on principle. Why should I give him a free pass?"

"Because it's Cas."

"What are we supposed to be looking for down here?" Dean changes the subject.

"Anything on case 1138. It was a class five infernal event in St. Louis on March 8, 1957."

"Class five infernal event?" you ask.

"The Letters have this whole rating system. 'The Exorcist' would have been a class two."

"So, class five is really special. Why?"

"It was weird, I guess. One of the files just had a note written in the margin about room 7B and the word 'weird' with three exclamation points."

You three look through the boxes when Dean notices something on one of the shelves.

"Check this out."

Dean unhooks something from the shelf and pushes, revealing that there is a room behind the shelving unit. The room is bare except for a chair in the middle of the room. On the ground is a huge devil's trap.

"Is that a devil's trap? It takes up half the room." You walk inside and see chains on the chair. "These chains have spellwork etched into them."

"We have a dungeon. Finally!" Dean laughs. Sam shakes his head and searches some more before finding rolls of film like they used to have in the old days. "What do you have there?"

"Movie night?" he asks and holds up the film.

You three head back upstairs where Castiel is talking with Joanna and lightly swinging Maryann on her baby swing. There is an old movie projector that holds that kind of film, so Sam gets it set up. Once the film is in, everyone settles into chairs to watch.

The movie starts off in black and white, but what else did you expect? Someone is holding the camera, and there is a man wearing a priest outfit sitting on some steps, smoking.

"Simon, we're filming."

"Um, hello world," he chuckles.

"So this new ritual we're going to see, This new type of exorcism, how does it work?"

"I don't know. It's my first time," Simon says nervously.

The camera moves to a mirror so you can see who is filming. You gasp when Abaddon shows up on screen. You can only imagine this is the woman who she took over.

"Wait, is that Abaddon?" Sam asks.

"It's not kill-y enough. It's got to be the chick she possessed."

A woman can be heard in the background, and she is screaming and moaning. She is tied the ground with chains, and Simon joins another priest inside the room.

"Hurry, we must do it now," another priest says urgently.

"Dead! They're all dead! Everyone you ever loved," the woman growls with black eyes.

"Hey, those chains look exactly like the ones in our dungeon," Sam says.

"In your what?" Castiel asks, a bit surprised.

"Demon a leash... cool."

The two priests begin the exorcism, tossing holy water onto the woman. She is crying out in pain, but that doesn't stop them from torturing her. One of the priests cuts his hand and covers the demon's mouth with it. Her eyes shine so brightly that Abaddon's meatsuit moves the camera away to her. You can see how worried she is. When she moves the camera back onto the woman, her heart is missing.

"She's dead. Where's the demon?"

"Stop filming."

"What happened?"

"Will you just stop?"

The priest walks towards the camera, and that's when the movie ends.

"Well, that was weird... with three exclamation points," Dean says.

"That wasn't a normal exorcism. They changed the words."

"I believe 'lustra' is Latin for wash or cleanse," Castiel says about the language they used.

"Oh, yeah, because the most freaky thing was the vocabulary. What about the bloody high five or the chest burster? Anything else on the film, like director's commentary or a sequel, maybe?"

"Yeah, listen to this." Sam types on his laptop and brings up an article. "The older priest, Max Thompson, bit the dust in '58, but the younger one is still alive and still in St. Louis."

"Do you think this kind of weird is worth the drive?"

"Dean, we've seen everything in those folders. This video was all new. Yeah, it's worth the drive."

"Alright, let's roll." Everyone, including Castiel gets up, but Dean stops him. "Not you."

"Dean," you sigh.

"Sam is more damaged than I am."

"Yeah, well even banged up, Sammy comes through."

"Dean, I just want to help."

"We don't need your help. Just stay here and get better."

Sam and Dean leave you and Castiel in the library alone. Castiel is sad that he's lost Dean this way, but he hasn't lost you.

"Look, it sucks what you did, but you were being manipulated by people you thought were good. Dean will come around, just give him time. I know you want to help, and it would really help me if you stayed here and watched my kids."

"I understand. I will watch them."

You lean up and kiss his cheek, but leave the library to get ready. Joanna is excited she gets to spend time with "Cassie", and Maryann is happy being with the people who love her. You meet up with Sam and Dean by the car, and Dean grows angry that the kids aren't with you.

"They're coming with us."

"They're staying here with Castiel."

"He can't be trusted!"

"Then trust me!" you shout back. "Trust that I would never put our kids in danger. If I truly thought Castiel was bad, I would not leave them here. They're staying here. End of story."

You get into the backseat without another word. Dean can't sit here and argue when they have somewhere to be. He rolls his eyes and gets behind the wheel before pulling out of the garage.

It's only an eight-hour drive to get to the church, and Father Simon is more than happy to talk to you when you get there.

"Father Thompson had some unorthodox ideas, which is why the Men of Letters were interested."

"Unorthodox how? How could you 'save' a demon?"

"A demon is a human soul that's been twisted and corrupted by its time in Hell. Father Thompson believed that you could wash that taint away and restore their humanity."

"Do you believe that?"

"I don't know what to believe."

"This ritual can cure a demon, though?" Sam asks.

"I suppose, if it worked, but that night, something went terribly wrong. The Demon escaped into the world, and that poor old woman... It was horrible. I know father Thompson kept trying. There were other possessions and experiments, but I couldn't face that again. Then, a few months later, he was dead."

"How'd that happen?" you ask.

"Something tore him apart."

"Do you think it was the demon that escaped?"

"In my heart, yes."

"Did he keep any--" Sam coughs and tries to get it under control. "Did he keep records or--" He keeps coughing. "Do you have a bathroom, maybe?"

"At the end of the hall," Father Simon points in the direction.

"Thank you."

"Is he alright?"

"No, actually. He's far from being okay. It's why we're here, actually," you sigh.

""I don't understand."

"Short story is Sammy is gonna take whatever shredded your friend and every other black-eyed bitch out there, and he's gonna get rid of them for good."

"He is? In his condition?"

"Father, over the past couple of months, I've seen him do shit that I didn't even think was possible. I mean, he's miserable and he's hurting, but you know what? There's not a doubt in my mind that he's gonna cross that finish line. Not one. So, will you help us?" you ask.

"I'll get Father Thompson's things for you."

"Thank you."

My tgs headcanons! I tried to do 5 each for each main character!

Henry Jekyll

-will absolutely talk your ear off about science if you let him. Mention literally anything about science or alchemy or any of his other interests his face will light up and he'll talk for hours. Robert loves it

-if there isn't already a library in his old house or the society I bet he'd want one. His prized possession aside from his science stuff hes collected over the years (like his glass cabinets full of poisons and such) is probably an old copy of frankenstein from when he was a kid. It's worn, faded, and almost falling apart from being read over and over again for years. He probably doesn't read it much anymore (both from lack of time and probably wanting to keep it in the best condition possible) but keeps it on a shelf somewhere as a little keepsake.

-definitely some kind if ND in my opinion. Maybe I'm projecting a little, but I believe it wholeheartedly

-his favourite seasons are autumn and summer. He liked the leaves and the colours and sitting with a hot drink by the fire when its a bit chilly during the fall, and probably enjoys the warm weather. I think it'd be nice for taking zosi for walks

-Dislikes winter but for a different reason than Lanyon. His immune system is canonically shot due to his issues with insomnia so he'll get absolutely taken out during flu season (learned that from the story sketchbook from SabCots online store!) I just imagine him and Robert holed up in an office or one of their houses in front of the fire absolutely swamped with blankets while Henry's got the sniffles and Robert's just cold lol.

Edward Hyde

-headcanon him as a shameless flirt but his brain would probably short circuit if someone flirted back lol

-loves science just as much as Henry even if he won't admit it.

-(this was commented on my other post and i loved this one so I'm adding it here) Hyde is double jointed and uses it to freak people out.

-collects random things like trinkets and spare change.

Robert Lanyon

-I think he's a dog person I think about this headcanon a lot actually, and there is a reason behind it! In the bleeding heart (tgs prequel comic) he tells Henry he "has no idea how many dogs they've lost in those woods" when talking about the woods outside his families holiday home in Lausanne. I know hes most likely talking about hunting dogs (probably foxhounds or similar breed since fox+game hunting was a common sport for centuries. Maybe still is idk) , bit either way its easy to assume he may have grown up around them (and as I'm a huge dog person) it was easy for me to assume he's at least fond of dogs, also since Henry has a dog and Robert doesn't seem to mind at all. Either way i think Robert is a dog person and even though I only have a tiny bit of evidence to base it on but it's probably my favourite headcanon.

-I think he has a sweet tooth. No explanation for this one. -favourite colours is purple.

-has an eye for detail in different arts. Fashion, architecture, music, etc. I think he enjoys art

-cooks people things to show she cares about them. It's why she let's Edward steal cookies when she bakes them, why she made all that food for Jasper.

-she used to be Henry's personal cook at his house before he started the society and she became the day manager. I think that when Henry spends the night on his couch in his office (which is probably very often) she probably leaves breakfast and tea outside his door in the morning because he'd probably forget to eat otherwise.

I've now watched both seasons of Wheel of Time and they're great!!! I haven't read the books and am curious- what do you like/not like about them, and would you recommend them? (Also are they gay)

Yay! I'm glad you like the show! I do recommend the books they obviously have their flaws but are worth it and while it's not direct I saw it as very gay.

The rest of this is a detailed rant going more in depth. With some (mild mild) spoilers

I really love the world building and detail it just sucks you in. The story arcs themselves are fantastic ive never felt such euphoria at climaxes than I do with this book series it's also the only one to ever make me cry same goes for the characterization. I could go on and on about what I love about this series. However I will sum it that for everything I disliked there is 10 more things I liked.

when it comes to female characters this is probably some of the best female centred fiction I have ever read pre Locked Tomb and Baru Cormorant. Just women who aren't completely men obsessed that are independent, brave, talented, heroic and just their own character. In addition many of them are ambitious.

When it comes to gayness that depends on how much you are okay with reading in between the lines. The earlier and middle books it is HEAVILY implied that many Aes Sedai are or have been at one point lesbian lovers "pillow friends". There is also some Polyamory (spelled incorrectly the one where it's people who share the same spouse but don't sleep with each other )

despite that distinction there are a LOT of women who are very *close* to each other including ones In The same polycule.

The books are very long that's both a pro and con.

One of the things I'm not a huge fan of is how the series does change genres. The 1st few books are more of coming of age and then you get court drama but the build up is worth and it's still a great read. It takes you through their whole lives. I recommend starting with the Prequel New Spring if u are going to read them it adds extra layers to the earlier parts.

The series also changes with the last few books( Robert Jordan passed away while still writing the series so Brandon Sanderson completed the books based on his notes). This is where a lot of issues come into play. With only notes he does wrap it up nicely however he does flub some characterization. The main issues center around the female characters.

Despite some of the great writing of women it is still written by a man a while back. There are some negative portrayals,stereotypes by Robert Jordan .They are also a little less free with sexual expression. There is way(way) less sex than the show but the characters are also a little younger and it fits the setting. everything else outweighs it. Believe me there are many scenes that are better and more intimate then sex ones.

It gets much worse when Sanderson takes over. A lot of the near canon lesbianism is removed and there are a lot of submissive portrayals of women in addition to just out of character behavior. However with the book wrapping up you are very much distracted by everything else going on and the ending is so well done and cathartic I didn't even really care.

But it was overall a groundbreaking work of fiction. To this day it is still my all time favorite series. I think it's the best epic fantasy series there is. There are so many different worlds and so many different stories within it. It changed my life.

Sorry about the rant hope this helps. I do 100% recommend the book series. I also recommend using your local library if possible cuz there are lot of books in the series and it can get pricy buying them.

Basic Information

NAME: Robert Small

AGE: I typically place Robert at about 45/46

EYES: Dark brown

HAIR: Both hair and beard are dark brown with some peppered gray

HEIGHT: 6'2

PRIMARY OUTFIT: In the game Robert's primary outfit is a long-sleeved, red v-neck shirt; a pair of dark-washed, torn-up jeans, a leather jacket, and a pair of sunglasses hanging from his shirt collar that he never seems to wear. I don't think his shoes are ever mentioned but I like to headcanon a pair of worn, black cowboy boots.

Personality

Robert is a man who's hard to read. He's sarcastic and doesn't really seem to care what others think of him. He likes pulling people's chains - telling stories that are just weird enough that you're always left wondering how much of what he said is true. He's got strong opinions about a variety of things... and is actually a little bit of a 'nerd' when it comes to his hobbies, like movies and music.

Powers & Weaknesses

Despite his gruff exterior Robert tends to have a magnetism that attracts people to him. He gives off this aura of 'the coolest guy' in the room.' He's a good musician, and a fair whittler. He's also a more-than-decent cook - a skill he doesn't bother showing off all that often. In addition, he's an excellent liar and a fair fighter (though he'd rather bluff his way out of a fight than actually do any fighting.)

As for weaknesses... his daughter, Val, is probably his greatest weakness. But in general, if he cares about someone enough, they're a weakness, too. In Robert's world caring = weakness. He's been hurt one too many times, and it's hard for him to let those barriers drop for anyone anymore.

Romance

Robert is a flirt and he's not all that subtle about it. If he likes what he sees, he will absolutely proposition sex immediately after meeting someone. However, in his eyes sex ≠ romance or a relationship. In fact, if he sleeps with you, the chances of getting anything real out of him are slim to none. Getting Robert to the point where he's even willing to admit/acknowledge he might have actual feelings for your muse WILL. TAKE. TIME. He's got more than his fair share of emotional hang-ups and will need time and patience to get past those issues.

Okay, so I’m a little picky about this one, especially for Dadsonas because I’d really prefer not to ‘replay’ Robert’s canon dates in our RP. However, if your muse is an OC (who’s not a Dadsona) or you’re a Canon, I’m down for having our RP take place in this verse, especially if you hit me up with any ideas you have for it. After-Game Verse

I’m 100% down for doing things that happen after Amanda’s party. This goes for anyone - Canon or OC or Dadsona. I’m also okay with giving Dadsonas who slept with Robert on the first night (or on his other dates) a chance to ‘redeem’ themselves in his eyes. And for those who didn’t and got two or three lovely dates, I’m down for date number 4. Y’know…so he can get some help dealing with his issues (and live happily ever after.) ^_^.

Before-Game Verse

This verse obviously won’t work for Dadsonas, but if an OC or a Canon wants to plot things from before the game took place, and after Robert and marilyn moved to Maple Bay, then I’m down, let’s do it. :)

Cult Verse

I have a mighty need for Robert to be the one who saves the Dadsona instead of Mary… >.> A VERY mighty need. So - for any OCs and Dadsona’s out there - hit me up. I’m also a fan of Robert (somehow) rescuing Joseph from whatever might have hold of him, so for any Joseph’s who’d like to RP that with me, just say the word. If you’ve got other ideas for Cult-verse with other characters, just ask. I’m game for plotting. :)

Hunter Verse

In this verse Robert IS a hunter from the CW show, Supernatural. He’s got (potentially canon) ties to John Winchester, and he keeps Maple Bay and the surrounding area safe from the things that go bump in the night.

Backstory Verse

This would be for blogs interested in doing something from Robert’s past. It could be someone like a band groupie, or someone he traveled/hitchhiked with, or met while working at the recording studio, etc. There’s a lot of opportunity here for a variety of ideas, so if it interests you, let me know. :)

okay i’m itchin for it,,, can you Please share like SOME of the ways you think they may have discovered the surprise pregnancy? even if you’re not sure on The Canon Way™️ like what are some theories you have 🧐🥺

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh okay so I think Robert is the one who put the pieces together that she was pregnant. He hadn't thought much of her morning sickness issues at first, just thinking she was Regular Sick™️ but then he started to notice she was acting strange, snapping at him over small things, which she normally didn't do, and one day at work it just kind of. Hit Him and he was very much like "oh... oh shit???" and he brought tests home. I think he was a mix of nervous and excited, but was waiting to see Giselle's reaction before he really expressed anything.

Giselle, I think, would be kind of quiet for awhile as she stared at the positive test, just processing it, her mind racing with a thousand different thoughts. They'd never really discussed having another kid, and she hadn't thought much about being pregnant before, so it was a lot to take it all of a sudden, and it was also a little scary. But I think after a few minutes of just. Staring, the excitement would finally hit her, and she'd start crying and kissing Robert while saying "we're having a baby!!" over and over.

I have a little snippet that's very rough where I wrote her saying "There's a little Philip in there." while holding her shirt up, and that really hits Robert, and he just wraps his arms around her and presses his forehead against her stomach and kisses her because he's just so Happy.

And I have another snippet where they're talking later and Giselle mentions that the last time Pip came to visit, he kept curling up on her stomach, and at the time, she found it strange because he always sleeps on her pillow, but now, it made sense and "he must've known there was a baby in there."

But yeah ! They were certainly surprised, and I think Giselle was terrified about the whole Having to Go to a Hospital thing, along with Delivering the Baby, but overall they were both very excited. And once she knew Robert would be in the delivery room with her, she was a bit more relaxed about it. Still scared, but far more comfortable knowing he'd be by her side the whole time!

Flufftober Day 2 – Comfort

Over the years, Aaron has gotten used to sharing a bed with a restless sleeper. Whether it’s sharp kicks to the legs, rough tossing and turning, or nonsensical muttering, he mostly manages to remain unconscious through Robert’s many troublesome nighttime habits.

Except for the sleep paralysis.

Aaron doesn’t know how he always senses it whenever it comes, why he always wakes up just in time to catch it. Maybe it’s good luck, maybe it’s his body instinctively reacting to Robert’s becoming unnaturally rigid next to it, maybe it’s just husband’s intuition. Whatever the reason, he’s bloody glad that he does.

He opens his eyes in the darkness of their bedroom, blindly reaching out to flick on the bedside lamp, and turns to his left. Robert’s entire body is stiff as a board, hands clenched into tight fists at his sides. His laboured breathing and wide-open eyes give away how panicked he is.

“Hey,” Aaron lays a gentle hand on Robert’s shoulder, only getting a small whine in reply. Robert’s lips are tightly sealed shut, so that’s the most he’ll get out of him until this is over. “It’s okay, your brain just need a minute to catch up. You’re alright.”

Another small noise and a few quick blinks. Aaron keeps stroking Robert’s shoulder, sitting up with him while they wait for it to pass. It always does.

The first time Aaron had witnessed Robert’s sleep paralysis firsthand was just a few weeks after they’d gotten together properly. He’d had no idea what the fuck was going on; he'd never even heard of the condition, let alone seen someone experience it.

So when he'd awoken to see Robert lying unnaturally still on his side of the bed, fingers twitching and eyes darting around the room, clearly awake but unable to respond to Aaron’s increasingly confused questions… Aaron had been scared out of his mind. He’d been literally seconds away from ringing for an ambulance, half-convinced his boyfriend was having some kind of stroke, before Robert had snapped out of it and begun moving again, letting out a shuddering breath as he grabbed Aaron’s hand to make him put down the phone.

Despite having been the one who’d actually just experienced the waking nightmare, Robert had ended up being the one needing to calm Aaron down.

“It was just sleep paralysis, I’m fine,” he insisted, running a shaky hand through his hair.

“Sleep… what?”

“Oh, er – okay, it’s kind of hard to explain.”

Robert had described the condition as best he could, mumbling things about the brain and sleep cycles that Aaron couldn’t really follow at 3 o’clock in the morning.

“Sometimes I see or hear things, sometimes I just can’t move for a few minutes or it feels like there’s a weight on my chest. There’s not much I can do about it, it’s mostly just down to stress or being overtired, I think,” he’d eventually finished, offering Aaron a sheepish half-smile. “Suppose I should’ve warned you about it. Sorry if I scared you, I know it’s a bit weird.”

“Don’t be daft… m’just glad you weren’t dying,” Aaron had smiled back tentatively, his heart rate slowly returning to normal as he realised that there wasn't something seriously wrong. “How long’ve you had it?”

“Since I was 14, on and off,” Robert had said quietly, fiddling with the drawstrings of his pyjama bottoms. Aaron knew what event had cast a dark shadow over Robert’s life at that age, and didn’t question him any further.

“It’d mostly faded by the time I reached my twenties but, uh… ” Robert hesitated, pressing his lips together with discomfort. “It’s come back since last autumn.”

Since I got shot.

He didn’t say it, but Aaron had heard the words anyway.

Several years and a couple of weddings later, Aaron no longer panics like he did the first time. He’s done enough online research and witnessed Robert go through it enough times to keep calm. It’s hell to watch, but there isn’t much he can do except remind Robert that he’s there and try to make him feel as safe as he possibly can.

Robert had once told him that the few times Chrissie had woken up while it was happening, she’d scarpered to the spare bedroom and left him to it, too freaked out to stay any longer than she had to. The next time Aaron had seen Robert’s ex-wife in the pub, he’d glared at her so hard she’d ended up nervously moving to sit further away from him.

Staying by his husband’s side feels like the least Aaron can do.

Robert’s eyes suddenly fly towards the corner of the room and he makes a faint noise of distress. His shallow breathing speeds up rapidly, short bursts of air coming from his nostrils. Shit, this must be a bad one.

Aaron darts out of bed to switch the bright ceiling light on, before quickly returning to Robert’s side.

“Oi, look at me,” he cups a hand around Robert’s tightly clenched jaw, forcing his gaze to shift towards him. “Whatever you’re seeing, I promise you it’s not real, it can’t hurt you. There’s nothing there, it’s just you and me.”

Robert makes another pained sound, eyes darting back and forth between Aaron and the corner.

“You’re okay, it’ll be over soon. Just breathe, Rob, I’m right here.”

A few agonising seconds later, Robert twitches, gasps, and his entire body comes to life. He springs up into sitting position, scrambling back until he’s pressed against the headboard, gulping desperately for air.

It’s over.

Aaron wraps an arm across his shoulders and pulls him in, holding him until his breathing eventually slows.

“Not had one that bad in a while.” He presses a kiss to Robert’s head, running gentle fingers up and down his goose-bumped arm. “Wanna talk about it?”

Robert shakes his head against Aaron’s shoulder, sagging down to let him take his weight. “No,” he eventually croaks. “Thought I saw… doesn’t matter, it was just creepy shit.”

“The worst kind of shit,” Aaron tries to get a smile out of him, mentally sighing with relief when he succeeds.

“Sorry I woke you.” He says it every time, and Aaron always says the same thing back with an exasperated shake of his head.

“Don’t be daft, you know I'd rather be up with you. D'you need anything? Tea, glass of water?”

“Can we just stay like this for a bit?”

Aaron pulls the duvet up to cover their shoulders, cocooning them in its warmth. “Course we can.”
