#and with Bowser it is specifically the one from Bowser's Inside Story

Apparently I’ve been tagged by @aparticularbandit to do a villain poll so… I guess I’m doing this?
Just gimme a moment to think up some villains I like… although some of them may end up being "Other people don’t think they’re a villain but I do", because who knows what other people think?
Alrighty, let's get to it. I may or may not also limit myself to the five the thing says to do.
I’m also supposed to tag people… but eh, do it if you wanna.

So I joked about drawing every final boss from the M&L series but it's Luigi, and I did get most of them. Brothership I technically can't make him the final boss, but I did just make an AU where Luigi is the Zokket of the plot. Anyways uhhh.
Explanation for all of these under the cut, I suppose
(reblogs with tags/comments are appreciated. Thankyu)
Superstar Saga: After the fight in Woohoo Hooniversity, Peasley still shows up to attack Fawful, but instead of flinging him and Cackletta's soul away, it merely breaks the helmet, and her soul flies into Luigi.
Partners in Time: Luigi specifically gets infected by Shroob mushrooms, although he doesn't actually know this until they're in Toad Town. They aren't contagious, he is the only one infected with them, so he just kind of. Doesn't say anything. Most of them grow out of his head so he can hide them with his hat. At the end of the game he ends up eating the Shroob Mushroom rather than Bowser, causing him to get infected with the Elder Princess Shroob's spirit
Bowser's Inside Story: While the Dark Star is in Bowser's body, it notices Luigi's weird aura and decides to take him as a host rather than bother with Bowser. This leads to Mario and Starlow having to leave Bowser's body, find Bowser, team up with him temporarily, and fight the Dark Star Luigi (who did take its powers back from Fawful btw. It had no time to waste, especially when Luigi has the Chaos Heart in him and will make taking over the world much easier)
Dream Team: So when Bowser inhales the Dream Stone, in this AU, Luigi chucks his hammer at him, and a few of the shards don't make it in. He manages to grab those and decides if Bowser is gonna eat half of them, he can eat the other half. They'll have the same power levels. So Dreamy Luigi but in the real world
Brothership: Reclusa's Egg ended up in the Mushroom World instead of Concordia, and it landed near Luigi's house. He finds it and decides to take care of it, but it begins talking to him and controlling him, and also totally twisting his insecurities into his new identity (which does not have a name as of rn).
No Paper Jam because I don't know how to turn Luigi into that but also that game's plot is not interesting in the slightest and I really need to just rewrite it. Anyways uh. I really like Luigi :3

After I made a Mario headcanon (this post), I decided to make a Luigi headcanon!! This one's a bit more specific though and it's also something I vaguely mentioned previously in stories before, but I wanted to go a bit more in depth. So here it is!!
--------
Luigi HC: Luigi has G.A.D. (Generalized Anxiety Disorder).
It's something I headcanoned for a while actually, and it all started from me finding a random Treesicle video talking about this sort of thing that was posted 7 years ago. Ironically, this was the video that even taught me about GAD in the first place, and if I never saw it, I don't think I ever would've known that I myself actually have it (I didn't just get this headcanon because I wanted to put a bit of myself into Luigi's character fyi, but it did help me learn about myself and also helped me to get actually diagnosed, so that's something)
The video I linked talks about this more, but essentially, Luigi has been dealing with anxiety ever since he was born (even if he was unaware of it). Whenever he started crying, it just wouldn't stop until Luigi either 1, got physically moved away from what was upsetting him (for example in Partners in Time where Baby Luigi started crying and Baby Mario literally couldn't make him stop no matter what he did, so he just pushed him out of the room), or 2, Luigi got a comforting hug from his big brother, who would reassure him that things are okay (I don't even need to list examples, y'all have seen the amount of times this man is crying in Mario's arms)
Here's a few symptoms/examples:
Perceiving situations and events as threatening, even when they aren't
An example at the top of my mind is the beginning of Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, where Luigi's having to go into a room inside Peach's Castle to look for something, with a Toad being there with him to help look. Luigi looks terrified the entire time, and it probably wasn't helping that it was dark when entering the room. But the Toad didn't seem scared at all. It was just Luigi. And nothing was even happening plot wise yet; they were literally just walking into a dark room.
2. Difficulty handling uncertainty / Indecisiveness and fear of making the wrong decision
We've seen Luigi go on adventures on his own before, but a big majority of them have him terrified. Think Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. Mario gets sick, so Luigi has to go out on his own to try and find the cure. But as soon as this man walks out of the building, he can't jump, run, nothing. He's absolutely terrified. He doesn't think he can go on this big, "dangerous" journey to get a cure. He literally has to go to a hypnotist of some sort to make himself believe that he's Mario to be able to do this. He feels as though he's not strong enough to do this himself, and that he can't do anything if Mario's not there. Granted, this has gotten better in more recent games, but Luigi still is nervous whenever having to do stuff on his own. I think Brothership is him slowly getting used to doing things himself, which is a good step in the right direction. And it helps that he has Mario supporting him the entire time, too.
3. Difficulty concentrating, or the feeling that your mind "goes blank" / Fatigue
This is mainly in the Mario & Luigi games (especially Brothership for some reason), but whenever there's an important conversation going on, Luigi always somehow manages to fall asleep. For example, in Bowser's Inside Story where he's asleep during an important meeting, or in Brothership where he's asleep standing up while everyone is trying to decide who should be "kidnapped" in order to find out the Extension Corps' plans. For people with GAD, and also speaking from experience, you tend to often feel so much anxiety that it tires you out physically. A lot. And I think that's what Luigi's dealing with in this situations; he's just almost always felt stressed or scared (which who can blame him, the kingdom's been dealing with some sort of situation for years) that it tires him out so much that he can't help but fall asleep because his body is trying to get that energy back.
4. Nervousness or being easily startled / Trembling or feeling twitchy
This man jumps at everything. Even at things that aren't even supposed to be "scary". At the beginning of Luigi's Mansion 3, when walking around his room, whenever Luigi opens a drawer and something pops out, it always makes him jump. This even happens before the hotel gets all spooky. And in a big majority of the Luigi's Mansion games, if Luigi stands still, he's shaking (which, granted, this is a terrifying situation, but still). This happens in other games as well, such as Paper Jam as mentioned earlier.
5. Persistent worrying or anxiety about a number of areas that are out of proportion to the impact of the events / Worrying about catastrophic events
At the beginning of Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Luigi has a nightmare about pretty much everything going to shambles, with the blimp falling and crashing as well as Antasma attacking everyone (also, little thing I want to mention: It's Luigi's dream, but who's the one fighting Antasma? Mario. This adds to point 2). But then when Luigi wakes up, we see that the blimp is perfectly fine, and it didn't crash. Everyone is safe and sound. But even after the nightmare ends, Luigi is still terrified, as if he still thinks that the nightmare is still happening. He panics to the point where he accidentally trips off the blimp and ends up knocking himself unconscious from hitting his head on the ground. (Also, I don't care what anyone says; I feel like Mario would've definitely stayed by Luigi's side until he woke up)
--------------------------------------
Again, this is just a little headcanon of mine (I say little as if I didn't just write several paragraphs qwq). I'm interested to see what you all think :D

first post to offer is: a big dump of my version of the koopalings......... cause i finished it yesterday and i just want to talk about it.
!!! DISCLAIMER !!!
The events here happens about years later of the original koopalings. And things got a little angsty in the process.
TW: Mention of surgical injuries.
Larry Koopa:
- 15 years old, second youngest koopaling.
- Rockstar, have a punk rock band with three friends.
Larry is the most rebellious koopa of the seven. He gets in trouble often, and it's not the type of trouble like breaking a ceramic jar or just be noisy. Nah, he gets in trouble with the police and break stuff in every concert he have. Pretty much a punk.
The most responsible one is Ludwig, making sure he doesn't get lost in the middle of the night, or intoxicated in every concert or party.
"He's just a kid" they say. "An angry kid" Ludwig corrects.
These situations made Ludwig have to get psychological help for Larry. For now, is going well, even if it's a long process.
Lemmy Koopa:
- 13 years old, the youngest.
- Juggler, circus artist.
Even if Lemmy is the youngest koopaling, and seems to be quite childish, he's quite mature when it comes to business. Since he's clearly not old enough to work in a circus, he's controlled by the crew of the Koopa Circus, which are the ones supervising Lemmy to not get hurt while doing his shows.
He's positive and the sunshine of the family, always cheering up his siblings. The closer brothership have is with Iggy.
Morton Koopa Jr.:
- 18 years old.
- Blacksmith of the castle.
Morton is actually the one that people considered that changed more. More after... What happened. Why does he have a scarf on? Easy. His jaw is broken. But like... Dislocated, almost tearing off his face. It's not pretty sure how did it happened, Bowser prefers to blame it on Mario. But what is sure, is that Morton became more intimidating after that, only seen inside his workshop, blacksmithing weapons for the Koopa Troops.
Despite the fact he's now mute, and is forced to eat specific food, Morton still have a kind soul and is a great company for his siblings. He loves to hear the new stories Lemmy have for him, attend to Larry's concerts, make a friendly fistfight with Roy, listen Iggy ramble about his new experiments, help Wendy choose her new dress, and listen Ludwig's new pieces.
Roy Koopa:
- 22 years old.
- Fighter, former boxer and street fighter.
You can think Roy as the typical 'bad boy vibe' guy. He's tough, easy going, smug... Everything you can expect from a boxer. He works with Wendy, though Wendy is more careful and intelligent while fighting, while he is more impulsive. It's not surprise Wendy won more trophies than Roy, but that's not a impediment for him.
Curiously, Roy and Wendy are the only biological siblings in the koopaling family. They don't like to remember how they started to learn how to fight...
Iggy Koopa:
- 23 years old.
- Scientist, specifically focused on biotechnology.
Iggy is a nerd. A crazy nerd. As far as his siblings know, Iggy didn't do anything too... Dangerous to experiment. More than mix some chemicals that ends up with a nosebleed and dizziness, or chemically modify a plant that actually would make the ceiling go broken. Yeah, not more than that.
But Iggy always talk about being a God, and have a strange fascination over human species. How the bodies works, how the human mind can go miles away...
The only rule is "Princess Peach must stay away from Iggy Koopa."
Wendy O. Koopa:
- 25 years old.
- Fighter, co-partner of Roy Koopa in the ring.
The only girl of the family, and the one that is obvious she grew with only men in her around. Wendy never leaves her coquette side when it comes to fighting, after all her muscles look good in a pretty pink dress that matches with her ribbon.
Wendy is not only a fighter, but also responsible of the younger ones, Larry, Lemmy and Bowser Jr. to be exact. She's a great help for Ludwig and also a great older sister, in all honesty.
VERY noisy though, if she wants to make a scandal, she won't think twice in doing it. But besides that, she's a sweetheart.
Ludwig Von Koopa:
- 30 years old.
- Musician, classical composer and professional piano player.
It's always "Ludwig is so fine" but never "Is Ludwig feeling fine?"
Ludwig is tired. Periodt. But even if he's tired, he still keeps his responsibilities in check, always acting authorative, and the one that takes most of the decisions commanded by Bowser or Bowser Jr., though he never takes Bowser Jr's suggestions. It's letting a kid rule the world, and he thinks that's pathetic.
Oftenly Ludwig prefers to pass time in his room or outside of the castle, live his adult life. Sucks at social interactions whatsoever.
He's the one that have more mental struggles, but refuses to get external help. Everytime that's mentioned, it causes an argument.
____________________
i think that's the whole thing i wanted to dump. all the other stuff works like in canon but just years later, if that makes any sense.........
i may draw more of these and also ill present my koopa oc later!!1!1!

Gale talks: Worst to best: Mario and Luigi Villains
Rules:
I will be focusing on the Final/ Main villain of each game. So Spoilers if you havent played the Mario and Luigi games.
I will not be covering the Bowser jr. Journey or Minion quest. (Mainly cause the former are basically just minions anyway)
I will be rating each villain on the following categories. Effectiveness (How successful were they in their plots), Villainous (How evil are they actually?), Power (How strong are they in the grand scheme of things), Cunning. (How often did they outplay the heroes?), Intrigue, (How interesting is the villain on this list.) and lastly Presentation (How grand was their final battle).
Villains that ended up not becoming the final villain in the end can be considered for this list. If they were the main villain for a specific amount of time.
______________________________________________________________
9. Paper Bowser: Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam
Tumblr media
Now this is a shock to me as well, never would I have though of putting one of my favorite villains on this list. But this is not the Paper bowser from Paper Mario, Thousand year door, Or even Super Paper Mario.
This is Paper Bowser from Paper jam. And honestly he is basically the same as regular bower in the Mario and Luigi games... except he is a Flat interpretation. He is basically just Bowser but paper. He doesnt really get to shine or exceed the Original Bowser. In the end he gets worn like a suit by the original Bowser for the final battle. He does say he plans on betraying the OG bowser, but OG bowser says the same thing about him. So honestly... he is the lamest.
8. Cackletta/Bowletta: Mario and Luigi Superstar saga
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was surprised to put the First villain of the Mario and Luigi series so Low. But in all honesty. She hardly did anything. She did cause some chaos in the bean kingdom and tried to take the Bean star. But she was basically outplayed in nearly every aspect. And if it wasnt for her Minion, Fawful. She would have been down and out earlier. She needed to possess Bowser in order to be a legitimate threat. And her only smart play to outplay the heroes was her nasty bomb trick. She is higher on the list mainly because of her battle. But even a good battle cant save her from Mediocrity.
7. Princess Shroob: Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time
Tumblr media
Princess Shroob is the one that is causing most of the chaos within this game. She is the one we see ordering the attacks, and the one that helps reveal the word that the Shroobs have been saying. Destroy.
The Princess leads her forces to attack the kingdom and is arguably one of the most pure evil villains on this list. And the fight with her is actually pretty decent. Though she sadly loses points once you find out she wasnt actually the main one in charge. And then gets completely outclassed and outmatched by her sister
6. Antasma: Mario and Luigi: Dream Team
Tumblr media
In terms of asthetic and success, Antasma really does nail the feel and ambition of the final boss. It was his actions that basically messed with the Pi'illo kingdom and basically trapping them in the dream world. And his work with Bowser after obtaining the dreamstone had them set for not only conquering the kingdom but potentially the entire world.
Antasma is also one of the few villains that actually worked WITH bowser instead of just possessing him or tricking him in order to get what they wanted. Antasma though of Bowser as an equal. Which is also why he is lower on the list... because HE got betrayed by a better villain. And sad to say that this is where he must stay
5. Bowser: Mario and Luigi: (All of them but Bowser's Inside Story)
Tumblr media
(I picked this image because this was the one where he took the stage as the final boss without possession)
Bowser was the final boss in both Dream Team and Paper Jam. Where he took center stage. While in the previous games he was tricked or gets possessed. Bowser is always a fight in every game. Bowser shows himself as a powerhouse and is often used by OTHER villains as a means of attaining what they want. Every villain seem to have some level of respect for Bowser (even if they insult or belittle him). Regardless, while he is not the best villain. He is still one of my favorite characters in the franchise.
4. Zokket: Mario and Luigi: Brothership
Tumblr media
An enigmatic individual that is responsible for Concordia being divided. The one responsible for the Glohm being spread through out the kingdom. (Glohm being a dark energy that makes anyone effected to become isolated and bitter. Often making them evil and stronger).
Zokket is stoic and calculating. Often having everything planned and is often seen not remembering names (much to the chagrin on his minions the Extension Corps)
Zokket views all connections as pointless and wants to revive Reclusa as a means of permanently plunging the world into solitude. Though this would make Him a top tier villain on his own. The reveal of who they are ans what happened that made Zokket the way they are actually is what stops him from being higher.
(Spoilers)
ZOKKET is a brainwashed version of Connie's Mentor Ms. Cozette.
Reclusa, the final villain of the story managed to take hold of her and brainwash Cozette to the point of completely changing her personality into Zokket, and removing nearly every aspect of control from Cozette.
Meaning that all of Zokket's actions can be attributed to another villain, who is higher on this list.
3. Elder Princess Shroob: Mario and Luigi: Partner's In Time
Tumblr media
Now we get to the big 3. Elder Princess Shroob is everything that Princess Shroob was on steroids! She was seen as the bigger threat that Princess Peach was so horrified of her she passed out!
Elder Princess Shroob is also the final boss of the game and has multiple phases. While she was hardly in the story... her actions and presence were felt the entire time. And during the final battle she even commanded her soldiers to sacrifice themselves all in an attempt to destroy the Mario Brothers!
She doesnt value her kingdom, or her subjects. She only values one thing.
Destruction. And out off everyone on this list, she is arguably the most pure evil.
2. Reclusa: Mario and Luigi: Brothership
Tumblr media
This was a shock to me. I did not think I would ever put the new villain so high on this list. But Reclusa is absolutely vile and deserves this number 2 spot.
The most powerful being on this list. a being that is a mix between a computer virus and a mad demigod. Reclusa only wants one thing. To rule over everything and be completely alone.
Reclusa utilizes Glohm in order to isolate others so that they will be alone, and then He can do as he pleases.
His hatred of bonds comes from his inability to understand why anyone would WANT to have relationships or connections. He sees them as unproductive and hindrances.
Reclusa is absolutely vile, when using his powers to make a perfect dream world for everyone, not so they could be happy, but so they could be isolated and slowly DIE so that he can have everything for himself.
He basically WEAPONIZED the Black mercy from Justice League combined with the Infinite Tsukuyomi from Naruto shippuden just so he could rule the world.
What makes Reclusa interesting is how EFFECTIVE he is. He perfectly brainwashed Cozette, someone that was a Wattanist and valued her bonds to become Zokket, a being so against connections that they could weaponize Glohm.
Not to mention its revealed that this is not the first time Reclusa has conquered a world. Reclusa mentions having done this MULTIPLE TIMES. Almost as if an inevitable law.
Reclusa even manages to get SEVERAL over on the heroes and Mario Bros. If it wasnt for Connie and the manifestation of Bonds. Mario and Luigi would have fallen to Reclusa
But what makes him so high is the fact that He has a 5 stage fight. Making him the most comprehensive final boss in the Mario and Luigi series.
Plus his defeat is one of the most satisfying. It hard to argue he is the most cruel and evil. But is he the best villain? That goes to number one
1. Fawful: Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
Tumblr media
Fawful is the best villain in the Mario and Luigi series.
He started out as a minion to Cackletta, before realizing that he was the one keeping her afloat. It was HIS genius that made her plans work. He was the one doing everything. So when he almost takes out the Mario brothers in the first game. Only to get sneaked attack by Prince Peasly. He vows vengence.
Fawful bides his time, and in Partners in time. We see what he is doing. Gathering funds and resources for his plan.
And by the third game. Fawful has made it to the big time. He created a disease to infect the kingdom. Tricked bowser into vacuuming up everyone that was a potential threat. Use his cunning to free the dark star. Had it absorb bowsers DNA, merged with it and created Dark Bowser. A being in which the Dark star was now under HIS complete control. He outsmarted the heroes and villains at EVERY TURN. His only failure was he didnt count on Mario, Luigi and Bowser to ever work together to win.
A being that was equal in power to Bowser,
Tumblr media
And was strong enough to envelop the ENTIRE WORLD IN DARKNESS.
Plus the final theme, and the final battle were the best in the series. And have yet to be topped.
It also potentially could go on forever if the player doesn't strategize properly.
Unlike other villains. Fawful started out small time, but he ended up becoming the Puppetmaster. He didnt serve the Darkstar, He merged with it and became its controller.
It took the combined effort of Mario, Luigi and Bowser to defeat Fawful. Something that no other villain ever managed to do in this series.
And even at the end. Fawful still went out on his terms. We still dont know if he is out there.
But something tells me that sinister bean is out there. Plotting, scheming, and Chortling.

"This holiday season, there's no funny business like monkey business"
Alright, so for context here, I've communicated with @dyandfunny and was also given some info about these two characters of theirs, Funny the Shroob and DY. One info I was told is that DY would call Funny "monkey" and after learning this I thought it would be funny to try and draw the shroob in a monkey costume.
But then I thought of another idea. 'What if I make a parody of the Lion King poster? Specifically Lion King 1 1/2, or Lion King 3 Hakuna Matata in some regions'. So here we have DY holding Funny in a monkey costume on a cliff Circle of Life style.
I even added Mario, Luigi, Starlow, and Bowser in the background. Originally, I was gonna have DY shout "Monkey!" as he's holding Funny, but I decided to go with the Koopa King saying the phrase while pointing at the duo, thinking it would be funnier. But this is also a reference to the 1993 Super Mario Bros movie.
And while I don't think Starlow has had any encounters with the shroobs since she wasn't in Partners in Time, aside from a secret battle in Bowser's Inside Story, I bet that she would burst into laughter seeing the shroob in a monkey suit.
While working on drafts for this, I presented them to @dyandfunny, even getting some suggestions, mainly with how Funny should be held.
I can imagine the duo going through many misadventures filled with chaos and shenanigans.
Funny the Shroob and DY belong to @dyandfunny

Random Mario headcanon: while Peach does have powerful magic, she actually doesn’t know how to use it, at least not by herself. Basically to use her magic she needs to trigger a “spark” of sorts, but has no idea how to do so and as a result can’t use it unless someone else triggers that spark for her.
Explaining how it works in the games’ canon and giving some more details on my Toadstool magic hcs (spoilers for pretty much all the RPGs + Showtime’s ending; 1k words below):
- In Paper Mario 64, Kammy calls Peach’s action “wishes from normal people”, meaning she’s not using any particular magic.
- In Thousand Years Door, she uses healing magic upon regaining some control from the Shadow Queen. Considering the Shadow Queen is using magic, possibly Peach’s magic, it means Peach could have been able to access it in the moment.
- In Mario and Luigi Partners in Time, the Cobalt Star could have been the one with the magic to imprison Elder Princess Shroob, or it triggered Peach’s magic. Though the fact Peach can summon stars at the end kinda shows she can use magic on her own.
- In Bowser’s Inside Story and Dream Team, Peach only uses magic when Starlow is using her own magic as well, meaning Starlow could be the one triggering hers.
- Ok I’ll be honest I can’t explain it for Super Mario RPG other than “she’s not actually using magic” or “Geno is a spirit of the stars so his presence would unlock her powers”, though in that second case it doesn’t even fully work since the whole point of the team looking for stars is that wishes can’t be granted anymore.
- In Showtime, Peach’s magic ribbon comes from Stella, same for the outfits. Her Radiant transformation also comes from the hopes and dreams of the Theets fused with Sparkles and Stella. I could also see Stella triggering Peach’s magic in the case of the ribbon + Radiant.
- In Super Princess Peach, you could imagine that the Vibe Scepter is basically letting out “particles” of emotions in the air, and when one touches someone, it affects them. For Peach, her magic would protect her by absorbing those particles, but it also causes her magic to accumulate them.
Because of that, whenever she feels a strong emotion, all those particles her magic gathered get released at once, thus giving her those powers. So the powers wouldn’t come from her using her magic willingly, instead her magic does its own thing and she has to realize it and work around it.
As a result, she can control when the powers get triggered by keeping calm as much as possible and thinking of happy/sad/angering things when needed (or other methods like pinching herself to cry or asking Perry to insult her to get angry, dumb funny things like that).
This could also explain why there’s a timer that then needs to be refilled when using emotions or even why emotional enemies don’t get powers like she does but instead just move faster or in a different pattern, as they would have less emotions in them since the first particle that touches them would influence them.
- In case it needs to be said, everyone in the sports games have special abilities so I don’t consider those to be her using magic.
So yeah, while there are obviously instances of her using healing magic that negates this idea, it still holds up to an extent. And it’s especially interesting to headcanon when you consider how many RPG villains know how to exploit her magic for themselves (Cackletta, Fawful, the Shadow Queen, Antasma tried before turning to Bowser, I like to think the Chaos Heart was born from an exchange of two widely different magics with the wedding being the ritual needed to create the heart specifically).
Going deeper into this idea, I hc that in the past all Toads had magic but the Royal Family eventually discouraged everyone from using it aside from them. History books would say it’s to protect the population, the truth is that the Monarchy wanted that power for themselves and/or were afraid of the people taking over the throne if they can be more powerful than them (especially since I hc that it’s common for rulers to marry citizens, as long as said citizen is able to handle the work that goes with becoming royalty; this is also why each kingdom still has a ruler the same species as them after centuries of those kingdoms existing).
There would still be some Toads who kept their magic (like the doctor from Bowser’s Inside Story) but they would be incredibly rare on top of trying to keep it a secret just in case them having it is forbidden as there would be no written law saying what is and isn’t allowed on that front.
As such, the knowledge of how to use these powers is told from parent to child, with sometimes another person being given the info in case the rulers die before their heir is of age to learn. In Peach’s case, her parents’ death was a complete surprise, meaning no-one had that knowledge.
So for the longest time, she didn’t even think she had magic. And when the RPGs happened, she would’ve tried to use it herself but can’t find the thing triggering its use, taking a while to come to terms with the fact that she could never use it by herself, but that doesn’t mean she can’t be a hero in a different way.
And for those asking why doesn’t she use a Koopa wand, this goes into this idea of the Chaos Heart being born from mixing Koopa and Toadstool magic. She’s afraid that trying to learn the Koopa ways of using magic might cause another catastrophe, which it probably would.
Last small thing, outside of angst the main reason for this headcanon is to justify both Peach never using magic outside of RPGs and the fact she goes from being able to yeet Bowser out the window in one game to being completely helpless against two paratroopas holding her in the very next game of the same series. Basically it’s to explain the inconsistencies with it.
It can also justify the Mushroom Kingdom not falling into the hands of Koopas, Goombas etc before Mario and Luigi were around despite Toads being unable to defend themselves in the present time (basically the Toadstool family was able to use their magic to boost the strength of their army, which Peach can’t do).

How about an update on what's been finalized and semi-finalized so far for Paper Mario: Forget It Jake, It's Eggmanland. No? Well too bad, I'm gonna do it anyway. :D
Some of these have been pondered out loud previously... but most of them haven't.
- Since Mario has full dialogue now, I've had to think about how best to portray him. Ultimately, while he's obviously in-line first and foremost with the Charles Martinet/Kevin Afghani portrayal in the games proper, I'm not averse to taking some minor touches from his recent movie portrayal, mainly regarding his relationship with Luigi, as well as the Captain Lou Albano portrayal from the Super Mario Bros. Super Show. By which I mean, he'll tell the readers that they'll go to hell before they die if they do drugs. He's also occasionally prone to Mario & Luigi-esque gibberish during moments of confusion or frustration, a trait shared by the latter brother. And speaking of him...
- Luigi is one of Mario's partners this time around, because why not. :] And while prone to slapstick moments as always, he won't get treated like an outright punching bag.
- Despite a certain Vivian-shaped elephant in the room, Peach will be portrayed with the same dignity as always, being a supportive ally who helps out the heroes in a similar way to 64 and TTYD. Though this time, I don't see her doing so in captivity, as Eggman doesn't have much of a reason to kidnap her beyond for the lulz, and would probably just try to kill her outright like he would with the other heroes. Or ask her if she plans to jump.
- Bowser will also be treated with respect. It goes without saying that Eggman will inevitably cause problems for the Koopa King as well, but at the same time, I know better than to humiliate Mario's arch-nemesis and undermine him just to elevate my preferred villain, and I also want to avoid the easy route of having Bowser team up with Mario as has happened already in various other RPGs, in favor of a more unique approach (and also because it would probably be hypocritical coming from the guy who keeps bitching about the overuse of Sonic/Eggman team-ups). So with that in mind, Bowser's role will probably be done in a sub-plot format similar to TTYD, and at a suitably climactic point in the story, he'll finally get to clash with Eggman, Bowser's Inside Story-style.
- Like a lot of PM fans, I've always been somewhat doubtful about the validity of Beldam's supposed change of heart, but despite this, I felt it would be too cruel and cynical to turn Vivian giving her sisters another chance into a Shaggy Dog Story ("But you complain when IDW Sonic-" Context and characterization is important, get out the class). So instead, while it initially seems that Beldam and Marilyn have returned to their former evil ways, it soon becomes apparent that Eggman has forced them into it against their will, as an extra way of screwing with the heroes' heads. As such, one of Vivian's motivations is to free her sisters from his influence. (If it isn't obvious by now, the doctor is going out of his way to antagonise the heroes as much as humanly possible. Partly out of a scientific desire to see what makes these people tick... but mostly because he's just an arsehole who finds the misfortune of people other than himself amusing, as befitting his canonical narcissism and manchild tendencies.)
- Grodus, on the other hand, is a much different story, being on Eggman's side completely willingly. More specifically, Eggman's machinations include offering Grodus a new body and the chance for revenge against both Mario and Beldam that he was unable to act on until now, in exchange for some leftover X-Naut tech that Eggman can use as a starting off point to build his newest army of Badniks and other dastardly creations.
- This should go without saying considering who the author is, but there is no "true" final villain, ala Shadow Queen and Dimentio. Like Bowser in 64, Eggman is the leading baddie from start to finish. That isn't to say there won't be any twists and turns in the plot, just that they'll involve other matters instead... like the details surrounding his plan.
- Other characters from 64 and TTYD will show up, though I haven't fully decided on which ones yet. Just like with my Sonic works, I want every character I use to have an actual purpose for being there beyond mere fanservice. So far, Goombella and a slightly older Watt will definitely be in it, as well as a new variation of the infamous Huff N. Puff.
- References to the post-TTYD installments, while not completely non-existent, won't be all that common. Despite my controversial thoughts on those games (well, Super Paper Mario at least), this decision wasn't made to spite them. Rather, it's because it's somewhat tricky to acknowledge them in a way that blends well with the 64/TTYD presentation and tone that I wish to maintain. That said, there will still be some nods for their fans on occasion, like maybe a name drop here and there.
- For similar reasons, Kammy will be used as Bowser's lackey instead of Kamek, and Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings will probably be a no-show since they had no presence in the Paper series until much later. On the other hand, despite them having no Paper appearances period, I have contemplated finding a use for more distinct characters like Wario and Donkey Kong if I can think of something sufficiently meaty for them to do that ties back in some way to the overarching plot.
- There will also be some mild references to the non-Paper RPGs on occasion, such as Eggman's antics and overall demeanour reminding Mario a little too much of Fawful. Of course, as always, I'll try to not overuse them or make them too Flynn-tier hamfisted in their execution.

Hiii!! Sorry for the question, but I just saw this post and got really curious about the scene depicted/the story this moment is from in general?
It just looks really interesting and now I kinda need to know... 👀👀👀
I wasn't expecting anyone to ever ask about this! (and by that I mean thank you so much for allowing me to talk about it kdjshskf) That scene depicts an important interaction between my Mario OC Princess Maxine and Fawful. I have a huge document full of lore stuff regarding the kingdom Maxine rules over (Grassland). In it there's a section that explains what Maxine's relationship to and history with Fawful is (as well as what's happening in that drawing specifically.) I'll quote it here under a read more:
"Maxine and Fawful’s History
Maxine and Fawful met for the first time when they were both 13-years-old, shortly after the events of Superstar Saga. After being thrown from Bowser's Castle when he lost the battle against Mario and Luigi, Fawful landed near the Grassland/Beanbean Kingdom border. Realizing he couldn't stay in the Beanbean Kingdom, he crossed the border, escaping into Grassland.
Fawful was found a few weeks later by King Arborn in the Turmeric Farmlands and was offered a place to stay inside the castle considering his strange circumstances. He laid low in Grassland, living there with Maxine and her father for about six years. During this time, Fawful and Maxine grew very close.
At age 19, Fawful left the castle spontaneously one night. He hadn't told anyone he was leaving, and he never returned. He went to live in the sewers underneath Peach’s Castle, running his Bean 'n' Badge shop while spying on the kingdom, learning everything he could about the residents, and plotting his revenge against Mario and Luigi. He stayed underneath the kingdom for 6 years until he felt it was time to put his evil plan into action.
At the end of Bowser's Inside Story Fawful’s body exploded, breaking into millions of microscopic particles that were scattered about after Bowser vomited the Dark Star energy back up.
Once dispersed into the air, Fawful’s body stayed in this limbo between life and death for a while, floating around until it decided to rebuild itself months later. When it finally did, it was in a broken state, still struggling to recover from the pure Dark Star energy Fawful absorbed. He existed now as a shambling, shadowy mass that barely resembled a person, wandering around aimlessly while trying to regain his identity.
While in this corrupted state Fawful made his way back to Grassland. His mind hadn't fully recovered at this point, so he was acting purely on instinct. Even despite his failures and how he'd left the kingdom before, somewhere inside his damaged mind was the desire to return.
After residents came to Maxine with fears regarding a dark, shambling figure roaming around the kingdom, she went to investigate. She eventually found Fawful and, against her better judgment, decided to help him (out of nostalgia or necessity, who knows).
Over the next couple months Fawful was quarantined and cared for inside of Castle Grassland, his body slowly rebuilding itself more and more as time went on. Maxine stayed by Fawful's side throughout his entire recovery despite how complicated her feelings were regarding his abandonment and the atrocities he committed against her fellow kingdoms.
After Fawful fully recovered, he remained in Grassland. In the present day, at 26-years-old, Fawful still resides there, living in the castle with Maxine once more."

Ask Me Anything: Unprompted Headcanon
Figured I should talk about some headcanons on my own. (As always, if you have questions, leave them in my blog's ask me anything!)
For me, most spin-offs are canon to the mainline world. That said, some spin-offs would break the canonicity of the timeline because babies. Too many Mario Kart games have the babies for me to count them all as non-canon though, so... Other games are technically canon but happen in another world that can connect to the main one.
Other than the previously mentioned exceptions, Mario & Luigi, Paper Mario, Super Mario RPG, Mario Party, Mario Kart, and the sports games are (mostly) canon.
The following list is every non-canon* or alt. world game, or important specifications:
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (babies, non-canon)
Mario Golf (Nintendo 64, babies, non-canon)
Mario Tennis (babies, otherwise canon)
Paper Mario (canon, main world)
Super Mario Advance 3 (babies, non-canon)
Mario Kart: Double Dash!! (babies, otherwise canon)
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (non-canon due to remake)
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (2004) (non-canon due to remake)
Yoshi Touch & Go (babies, non-canon)
Mario Superstar Baseball (babies, otherwise canon)
Mario Kart DS (babies, otherwise canon)
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time (babies, non-canon, ignore the Shroobs in later games)
Yoshi's Island DS (guess)
Super Paper Mario (canon, main world)
Mario Kart Wii (babies, otherwise canon)
Mario Super Sluggers (babies, otherwise canon)
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (non-canon due to remake)
Mario Tennis Open (babies, otherwise canon)
Yoshi's New Island (I can't even right now)
Paper Mario: Sticker Star (canon, other world)
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team (canon, main world)
Mario Kart 8 (non-canon due to DX)
Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam (Paper Mario is from the alternate world, canon)
Paper Mario: Color Splash (canon, other world)
Mario Sports Superstars (babies, otherwise canon)
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (FIVE babies and not ONE is actually necessary, otherwise canon)
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions (canon, main world)
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey (canon, main world)
Dr. Mario World (I refuse to believe a baby can acquire a medical or pharmaceutical degree even in the Mushroom Kingdom where it's mostly "match the colors", otherwise canon)
Mario Kart Tour (265 drivers and not one of them is an alt costume of the babies... otherwise canon, I think?)
Paper Mario: The Origami King (canon, other world)
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (2024) (canon, main world)
Mario & Luigi: Brothership (main world, canon)
(Mario just turns into a very strong sheet of construction paper.)

In M&L: Bowser's Inside Story, there's a secret boss with the shroobs from Partners In Time. Starlow doesn't recognise the shroobs because she wasn't in that game but when Mario explains what the shroobs are, he says specifically that he and Luigi fought them when they were babies. This implies that they aren't the same adult Mario and Luigi from Superstar Saga and Partners In Time. Because of Starlow's presence in Dream Team and Paper Jam, we can also assume that the Marios and Luigis in those games are the same ones as the ones in Bowser's Inside Story. The fact that you play as a different pair of bros in the first 2 games makes it much more reasonable that they keep forgetting how to do the spin move.

I think that during the fight between Ogerpon and Pecharunt, it was a tough fight, since Pecharunt had a type advantage and set up 3 nasty plots earlier, however, it ended leaving when the humans arrived. Moveset wise I think it would be (Nasty Plot, Recover, Shadow Ball and Malignant Chain).
Now, remember the whole soul absorption? Well, I believe that it can also release these souls with a chain attached to them like a hive-mind. The souls would look like the ghost sprites in the gen 1 games. Their main purpose is to manipulate their victims into killing themselves. However, if the victim was able to stand against it, it would change into the person it was before but ghostly, and would kill the victim by force instead.
Also, I feel that when a person is under Pecharunt’s control, all their Pokémon’s Tera type are poison. This is sort of confirmed when I went to Carmine and Kieran’s grandfather’s Bulbapedia page where his Pokémon all have the poison Tera type.
And if we’re still going by the fusion idea, I would say Pecharunt would just be the base form while Dokuwāro is the fusion between Pecharunt, Mega Rayquaza, Original Dragon Kyurem, Zygarde Complete Forme, Hoopa Unbound, Ultra Necrozma, Eternamax Eternatus and Stellar Form Terapogas. I may need to think how it absorbs them, but the idea sounds badass and legitimately makes Pecharunt look intimidating as hell.
Now, I would say Dokuwāro’s size is slightly bigger than Regidrago. Since it’s a fusion, I’d like to think its shell can split into 6 pieces referencing Hoopa, one arm is out of each segment which looks like Necrozma’s but textually like Eternatus. The tiny hands that Pecharunt has are now arms with claws at the end resembling Zygarde but Tera and Dynamax energy texturally around it and a knuckle claw in the middle that resembles Mega Rayquaza’s jaw or something. However, this fusion would be cohesive and not just a series of random mutations.
Now, since Pecharunt has a busted defense stat of 160, I think Dokuwāro’s defenses are through the roof. Its shell is impervious to any attack and the core is difficult to damage. Not to mention, now that is literally 8 legendaries fused, it can now block attacks by punching them.
Did I make it overpowered? Yes. Is it necessary? Yes. Is it possible for the protagonists to beat it? Maybe not.
Now, these abilities and Pecharunt in the PV Au actually have several inspirations:
The whole soul absorption is because of the third signboard, while the two signboards were answered, this one wasn’t. So, I believe that Pecharunt is behind if you were to look into what the signboard says.
The whole manipulating people to kill themselves, is inspired by the Mandela Catalogue, the Alternates specifically. These entities are shapeshifters who can take the form of their victim’s close members. They whisper things to their victims which cause them to have Metaphysical Awareness Disorder, which drives them insane and they kill themselves. Whereas, the soul killing the victim by force is a reference to the Corruption in a Friday Night Funkin mod. Basically, if the corrupted person fails to corrupt their victim, it mutates and resorts to killing them instead.
The whole absorbing legendaries is a direct reference to Aggregor in Ben 10, in the show, he absorbs 5 Andromeda Aliens to have enough energy to access a certain place and there he can become god. Pecharunt is sort of doing the same thing. Also, how the fusion is designed is inspired by how O.R.Ash (from The Ink Tank) designs his fusions, he’s not called ‘The Fusion Man’ for nothing.
Pecharunt wanting nothing but revenge is a loose reference to Aspheera from Lego Ninjago. In the show, it’s shown that Aspheera wants nothing but revenge on the person that betrayed her, that’s loosing summarizing what she did, but Pecharunt did something similar.
For the shell and punch blocking, it’s a direct reference to Bowser in ‘Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story’ where in order for him to block attacks, he can either hide under his shell, or punch the attack away.
Finally, for the taking over god part, it’s also inspired by the Mandela Catalogue, where an alternate (most likely Satan) replaced Gabriel and made humanity pray to it. It used religion is a weapon. Sounds awfully like how the story of Ogerpon and the Loyal Three is misinterpreted right? Each story was not the same as their originals and what really happened was a second party influenced the events. Specaking of god, Arceus and Pecharunt are the only two mythical pokemon to be trio masters, this sort of indirectly makes a reference to a phrase in the Mandela Catalogue called ‘There’s not enough room for the two of us’. Indirectly referencing Pecharunt thinking that there can only be one mythical trio master and one god of this timeline. Loose reference, but it’s there.
I’ve rambled on A LOT. But I just wanna express my thoughts, and I felt three need to include what Pecharunt’s inspired by and references I this Au so you get a better understanding. Next time, I’ll think of some quotes that it might say. But anyways, thanks for reading this! It really appreciate it.
I thought I'd never see someone else get inspired by Bowser's Inside Story like,,, ik for you it was different but I love these ideas! I never idealized the idea Dokutaro or Dokuwāro as you say possess the OTHER MYTHICALS AND LEGENDARIES!!! Maybe I could implement these ideas
Idk if I wanna take from like, concepts like Mandela catalogue but it is SO MUCH TO THINK ABT /POS
Also, I still know NOTHING abt Mochi Mayhem or nothin and hope to keep it that way since I want to be as accurate or as imaginative as can be but you mention Dokutaro would have Malignant Chain..that a move? NO SPOILS I BEG I BEG
Anyhoo, with bowsers inside story for inspiration, Idk why but that one feller that can stack on top of itself and is a boss and is just yellow eyes,,,its giving Pecharunt
Ive been listening to the BIS soubdtrack admittedly, mainly for nostalgia purposes but I also was inspired to make an au of "What if Project Venus Kieran got zip-zapped by Terapagos and sent to the canon story, or maybe Project Venus itself sent him" idk I have to be kinda vague WHICH SUCKS BUT
But Project Venus!Kieran is kinda cocky like Bowser, and possessed by Dokutaro it makes him moreso. Of he was ever isekai'd into the canon story it would most def be after Indigo Disk, and he'd deffo be looking for Ogerpon or go back to Blueberry Academy and try to regain control since he also lost it in his canon, I'm sure.
AHGWDHJDUX NOW IM RAMBLING AND MY WORDS ARE EVERYWHERE BUT YOURE GIVING ME A LOT OF INSPIRATION
Also I NEVER WATCHED THAT FAR INTO NINJAGO BUT BASED NINJAGO FAN!! THERES SO MUCH CHARACTER-BUILDING I COULD DO FOR DOKUTARO/PECHARUNT AND AUUUUGHHH I WISH I WAS AT THAT PART ALREADY HRRRGHHG

So this is part of a longer story I've been writing but I kind of want to post this here as it just poured from my brain this evening. This may be...somewhat out of character? I don't know, I'm playing with some ideas here. I have some very specific headcanons regarding Luigi and Mario's upbringing in a 1980s Italian-American section of Brooklyn (my guess would be Bensonhurst) and some of the concepts below reflect that.
Imagine, if you will, another post-SPM scenario where Luigi ups and leaves the Mushroom Kingdom a few weeks after the whole Chaos Heart debacle. Mario finds the following note on his desk the morning after Luigi runs away, folded underneath a small, mechanical Yoshi.
-----
Mario -
There’s no easy way of saying this, so I guess I’m just going to come right out with it. I’m leaving the Mushroom Kingdom. Or, at this point, have left already, if you’re reading this instead of chasing me down the nearest warp pipe. And in case you’re thinking it (I know you are) - don’t. No, I didn’t use the one by the Toadetta Café, and no, I didn’t use your secret passageway near the Royal Stables, either. Suffice it to say I carry more secrets than you, which include my own ways of getting in and out of the Peach’s realm. (Do you honestly think I would travel the same path twice back to the Evershade Valley when King Boo was on my trail? But maybe you would have. Yeah, you probably would - just saunter right up the well-traveled road, same pipe, same time, same place, daring any ghost to show their face. But you know I’ve never been as brave as you).
It’s not your fault. I know you don’t believe me, but please try to. Whatever it is, it’s not your fault. I’d like to say it’s not mine, either, but the next few weeks, few months will reveal the truth of that statement.
Don’t think I haven’t seen the way you look at me when you think I’m not paying attention. How your entire face just collapses, how your fingers move back and forth like you’ve still got that old rosary from Saint Michael’s in your hands. I don’t know entirely where this guilt is coming from but...maybe you can say a few Hail Marys tonight? Can't hurt. It might even make you feel better. (Hell, if it gets you to stop wearing your hair shirt all the time, I’ll start saying the damned liturgy myself! And you know how I feel about that).
I won’t be gone forever. Well, I hope I won’t, at least. But what I said last night is still true - I’m not the same person I was before the Chaos Heart, before Mr. L, before…everything that happened. Or what I'm pretty sure happened. I know there’s more to the story, more than what you and Peach and Bowser recounted in your short, clinical descriptions. I know there’s more because I can feel it - not the memories of exact actions, but the imprints of emotions - soft indentations of hatred and malice and a terrible pettiness made all the worse by how familiar it feels.
Do you think it’s really gone, Mario? If he’s really gone? They said the Light Prognosticus was only meant to counteract the Dark, that the Chaos Heart was banished, not destroyed. I’ve spent hours looking in the mirror (no, I’m not that vain), my face pressed into the glass, pulling my eyes open as far as I can, skin and tissue stretching to the point of pain. They’re different now, my eyes, I know you’ve seen that. You always notice the little details, make observations, file away certain specks of information for the future. You’re more cerebral than you’d ever like to let on, bro, but don’t worry - I won’t spoil your secret.
It’s just that…I just can’t shake the idea, the intuition that this isn’t over, that there’s something inside me that’s waiting, that’s gestating in all the little crevices between the atoms in my gut and I can’t risk it. I can’t risk endangering the Mushroom Kingdom, the Mushroom People, Princess Peach, can’t risk Daisy or Peasley, or (God help me for saying this) even E. Gadd and his ethically dubious experiments.
Most of all, though, I can’t risk endangering you. Not again. Never again. Not like that.
So, a search for answers. A quest, a mission. (Not an adventure. Not anything even close. It’s only an adventure if you’re with me, you know).
A reckoning, maybe.
I hope I find what I’m looking for. I’m not even sure what I’m looking for, but some movement forward has to be better than sitting around the castle picking at battle scars, right? (It’s not your fault. I know you don’t talk about it, but we fought, that much I’m certain of. Why else would you avoid the topic so thoroughly? What else would I, a brainwashed minion of a man bent on triggering the apocalypse, be sent to do? Anyway, the gigantic robot was kind of a giveaway and Bowser made certain we all heard about that).
I guess that leads me into my last thought.
Mario, I need a favor from you. A promise. Just one thing, and it’s so simple but I know you’ll make it complicated when it’s really not.
If this goes…wrong, somehow. If the Chaos Heart overtakes me again, if…he digs his dirty, spindly fingers into my brain...
If for any reason I come back…bad…
You’ve got to end it. For everyone’s sake (including my own).
(Honestly, I’m a little surprised you didn’t before. I was trying to push along the end of the world, big bro. The Saints would have and will probably forgive you for that one).
Don’t try and save me. I’m not even sure I could be saved, not a second time. It’s just like Sister Catherine said in middle school, remember? “Luigi’s strayed beyond the grasp of our Lord.” Never liked that old crone. I guess throwing the Good Book out a window didn’t do me any favors in her eyes (or anyone watching from above, I suppose). But it’s true, in a way. I think I’ve strayed beyond the light of good, have strayed past the forest line and into the shadows.
I think I may have been there all along.
I love you, bro. I always will.
Your fratellino,
Luigi

The most chaotic and funniest thought just hit me.
Mario and Tales of Arcadia could exist in the same universe.
Let me explain. The Super Mario franchise had their own cartoon in the 90s called the Super Mario Brothers Super Show. In it, the brothers can travel between Brooklyn and the Mushroom Kingdom via a green warp pipe located somewhere in the sewer systems.
Basically no one else knew about this pipe nor the hidden universe(I'll call the Mario World we know as the Hidden World from this point afterwards) except the Mario Brothers. Then you also consider there is more than one warp pipe. And thus this glorious idea.
For setup, the Hidden World could be considered the Promised Land to all Trollkind. A realm where sunlight nor lack of being near a Heartstone DOESN'T turn them to stone and bears many treasures of peculiar power but also a potential second home should their realm fall apart i.e what will become the Darklands.
Some trolls left to seek out the Hidden World but never came back. There had been only one account of someone finding the mythical 'Green Channel' that leads there. However the troll discoverer in question was branded as a liar and label an outcast. This explorer writes a journal of his experiences before eventually disappearing. 'Beginner's Guide To The Hidden World' was the only thing left as no one knew the writer's fate.
A book of a madman's ramblings and gone unfound inside Arcadia's Trollmarket until the first human Trollhunter been made. You don't expect Jim or Toby to not look through the books in Blinky's library especially if a problem arises. It bonks the poor Trollhunter on the head and our favorite book troll practically flips out once he sees the guide.
Whether the major plot point is such as Battle of Two Bridges, find Gunmar's weakness or handle Angor Rot, it doesn't take much convincing to look into this Hidden World. Now since sewers weren't prevalent in the middle ages, no Troll thought the 'Green Channel' could be a giant sewer pipe. Modern human thinking leads to Team Trollhunters rediscovering the Hidden World and it's unique flavor of insanity.
(Jim seriously needs a huge break from being the universe's drama dump. Why not throw a very long overdue albeit super goofy bone? Plus I know some of you guys want to see Draal put on a Cat Bell, Jim in a Tanuki Suit and Toby in a Penguin Suit.)
Now for some worldbuilding!
Trolls born in the Hidden World have natural immunity to sunlight. An occurrence that is half adaptation and half magic revelant. They can also survive without the presence of a Heartstone but are unable to use powers up unless they return or have a special item.
It takes four hits to make a Hidden World troll lose their active power up, two for Changelings and three for a normal troll. Although those who possess the Amulet of Daylight, like Jim, can take four hits no matter the species. They have a major kingdom located somewhere near the Seaside Kingdom known as Stoneheart and are neutral territory. Koopa Troopas are considered rivals specifically the royal ones like Bowser.
Trolls came up with 'Action Filming', a maybe Mario canon(my memory is rusty) where the games/series is a play while the characters are actors and friends offscreen. You know they would make a concept like that as they're still a warrior based race.
Quite friendly to outsiders and visitors, a good chunk of Hidden World trolls are travelling freelancers in their own expertise. The most common are traders, bodyguards, to of course any occupation that revolves around geology or architecture. Gunmar is considered the Hidden World Trolls' Boogeyman, a story to teach young whelps to behave.
If proven real then Jim definitely has an army willing to help him out as major threats are taken quite seriously in the Hidden World. I can say that Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, Partners in Time, and Bowser's Inside Story are the only games mostly based on true events. You can't expect three major incidents that affected three different kingdoms, ESPECIALLY their royalty, weren't taken seriously nor have a huge impact on everyone else.
Hidden World Trolls rarely eat cats or any other pet considered animals. I think the reason why they limit themselves in canon is because a missing cat ain't gonna draw major attention unlike cattle and other farm animals. Although I bet a grocery store that accepts or can keep trolls' existence a secret would be a godsend. But yeah, their food options aren't limited in the Hidden World.
Finally for the last bit, there have been some unique adaptations that tend to crop up with Hidden World Trolls. These can range power up based ones such as species with Penguin Suit or Fire Flower traits, environmental like those raised in Lake Lapcat have feline characteristics, to seemingly random ones like shapeshifting. Yep. A natural born Changeling who doesn't need a familiar to transform is a possibility.
That's it for now! Until next time folks, I'll see you at the warp pipe between Arcadia and the Mushroom Kingdom!

Mutuals I Wanna Know Better, tagged by @snakeeyesdraws. (I was undecided on if I'd do this but I'm bored so why not.)
Last Song I Listened To: "In The Final" (Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story) by GaMetal. [link here]
Bowser's Inside Story (both the og version and 3DS remake) is my favorite game of all time, Bowser is my favorite character from any media ever, and Super Mario is my favorite game series. So yeah, this song is pretty epic. Also GaMetal is a very talented artist and I like rock music. However, Daft Punk is my favorite band.
Currently Reading: I don't really read stuff these days ngl. I prefer visual media like video games and other video content.
Currently Watching: So I'm not really watching anything specific like traditional TV. I get most of my entertainment from YouTube videos, primarily Markiplier, but I assume that doesn't count so I'll just say the last thing I watched. And to the surprise of none of my friends, it was "The Super Mario Bros Movie" aka my new favorite movie ever as of April 5th 2023. If you couldn't tell I'm a big Mario fan.
Current Obsession: Aside from the Mario series, as I've made it abundantly clear that lives in my head rent free, I wouldn't say I have a singular obsession towards any current thing. It'd be more accurate to say that I have several interests that have entirely overtaken my psyche.
(Just kidding the answer is Bowser /hj)
I have no one specific to call out to participate in this so I'll just say that anyone who follows me and wants to give it a go can have at it. Feel free to tag me as the person who tagged you, I won't mind.
Buuuuut just to be funny I'm gonna call out a handful of my friends anyways: @deciduousfuckhead @frostfilled-dreams @anichibicore @engispyro @djpachipikachu @lemonflavouredzest @losteclipse
Haha get tagged idiots /j /lh

I see your music ask and raise you; Bean's Beans:
What was it like doing the fucking insane thing of scoring your own fic? I love you so much for doing it btw
Which song was the most troublesome to compose
Favourite song you wrote? And favourite song for any of you fic playlists?
Any songs you've come across in the wild and your like I've gotta find something to do with this? (I am easily lured by the siren call of ABBA fight scenes despite being terrified of writing fight sequences)
bean's beans!!! beloved. scoring it was wild tbh, it wasn't at all what i thought was going to happen when the idea first concepted in my brain but as soon as i thought of it i was like hey, it might as well happen. it felt like word-writing in a lot of ways; i made a list of beats i wanted to match music to and put them together purely based on what sounded good (music theory who? i only know vibes) and what seemed to fit the scene. though i'm pretty sure i wrote a few songs before their corresponding fic bits. i do Not remember the specifics because my memory is occasionally swiss cheese :)
most troublesome song(s) to compose - the moment i decided to do a song with Voice and Lyrics i had to deal in things like words and rhymes, which. definitely ended up working in the long run but i kept running into a barrier called "this is so cliché i'm going to choke". but it worked eventually! other difficult songs included max in the kitchen, which for some reason i could not figure out for a while (shoutout to the toad town track from the bowser's inside story ost for singlehandedly breaking that block) and toxic air, which took 2 tries.
favourite song i wrote - shadow puppets was an absolute joy to work on, i have an eternal soft spot for chris's waltz because it's what inspired me to score the rest, and we've got time just makes me happy :)
favourite song from a fic playlist - surprise! i'm giving you one from each. lookout 3: a bar in amsterdam (katzenjammer). homeward bound: beneath the brine (the family crest). bean's beans: ruin (the amazing devil). ex-home syndrome: keep on loving you (the sheepdogs). fixed point theory: sky (birds of bellwoods). fixed point secondary shoutout to letting go (rural alberta advantage) because i've been on an RAA kick lately
songs from the wild - i've been stuck on this idea for an angsty keep going song successor ever since i heard basket by dan mangan, so that's one. others include chasing twisters by delta rae (the most western vibes imaginable), summer clothes extended version by the wonder years (augh), the third movement of dvorak's symphony 8 in g minor (i want to write another fancy dance scene), excuses by the morning benders (vibes), and i'm sure there's many more that i don't remember. ruin was also that for bean's beans! the piano mention in that song kickstarted the entire scoring idea. everyone say thank you joey batey and madeleine hyland
thank you for the ask i love talking about music and beans and everything in be(an)tween :)
