1. dick finds out batman replaced him as robin (without asking him) from the NEWSPAPER and simultaneously finds out bruce adopted a new kid without telling him (to make things worse: bruce didn’t even adopt dick)

2. dick finds out jason died from the newspaper (AGAIN? REALLY BRUCE?) and bruce had the fucking funeral WITHOUT HIM while he was still in space

Okay but does Peri KNOW that Dev has a robotic leg when he shows up? Something about the fact that Peri's wand is a cane and the fact that Dev could have kept his leg and just had a cane for the rest of his life instead tickles my brain.

I mean he doesn't know immediately, he wasn't like briefed or anything, but he basically lives in Dev's house so he definitely finds out. Peri doesn't comment on or react to it all though really, there's no reason for him to think anything of it, plenty of people have missing limbs, a lot of people are born without them, it doesn't necessarily mean anything sinister happened. He had no reason to pry or ask and I think Peri's lack of reaction to it helped Dev feel a bit more comfortable in his skin. (Not by much but.. a little bit.)

You know in retrospect I now understand my parents concern when I, 22 and fresh out of college told them me and my long term boyfriend (now spouse) were going to buy his childhood home, an unmaintained 70s chalet style house they thought was a tear down. But it worked out and I love this property dearly.

(Also they rediscovered a childhood time capsule I made that was rolled up paper stuffed into a toilet paper tube and it DID say I was going to live in a old house in the woods with sled dogs so idk. Live ur dreams)

thinking of a young adult, freshly moved into his first home, which happens to have an elderly borrower couple living in the walls. the elderly couple is a little noisy and long lost all subtly when borrowing, so the guy discovers them quickly, but doesn’t let them know he’s aware of them. he lets them borrow in peace, and thinks they’re utterly adorable.

until he suddenly has to make sure no spoiled food is in range because they will steal and eat ANYTHING, no matter the expiration date. he has to put railings on the counter because they’re a little unsteady and his heart drops every time one almost has a fall. he has to act oblivious when he hears them bickering at a huge volume because they don’t realize how loud they are. he’s sneakily stealing their old worn supplies like rope or bags and replacing them with new ones that won’t break or hurt them.

and when the tinies do find out he knows about them? oh, little Grandma and Grandpa TAKE ADVANTAGE. they now have a strong young man who will go to the grocery store and get them applesauce whenever they ask. Grandpa is having the guy do heavy lifting and construction work for them. Grandma is sitting on his shoulder and fussing at him for slicing veggies wrong. they nag him to take them to visit their grandkids, they tell him to cut his hair and get a better job, they sneak little trinkets into his hand and run off before he can politely decline.

and he utterly loves it. he loves his tiny grandparents

you ever, like... live in a really lovely little apartment for four years and really enjoy it and are very happy there, but then your landlords abruptly tell you they're not renewing the lease next month due to reasons' outside of anyone's control, so you and your roommate scramble in a mad panic to secure adequate housing for the coming year while stressed out of your minds, and then you do find a nice new apartment but then when you get the keys on the first of the month when your lease begins you go in and discover that oh hey the dishwasher that the realtor assured you was in perfect working order prior to you signing the lease when you explicitly asked them about it? no actually it is busted to hell and back and filled with expanding foam and mold and steel fucking wool for some goddamn reason??? and sealed shut with metal brackets and silicone, and also the prior tenant left open unpackaged food in the cabinets and now there's a severe ant infestation, and also oh hey the stove is broken, too, so that doesn't work, and also oh hey, the shower is broken, too, so that doesn't work, either, and you look inside one of the lower kitchen cabinets, which you didn't get to look at during the showing because the unit was tenant occupied at the time, and actually the entire thing is filled with mold and has such severe water damage that it is partially collapsed and visibly the wood is rotting??? and then you immediately contact the new landlords like "yo what the fuck this needs to get fixed IMMEDIATELY" and they just flat out ignore you??? and now you're spending a lot of time reading up on the city's municipal code and tenant rights???

yah haha me neither. that'd be, like... crazzzyyyy tho, right???
