(SA) apparently Encanto of the rings started with The Hobbit...soooooo
They laid them to rest in the outfits Mirabel had made. Fili, Kili and Thorin. They laid there, their outfits full of beautiful colorful embroidery that wove a unique tale of just who that dwarf had been.
It was truly a beautiful sight. But a sad one, especially when one considered the heartbroken and sobbing ten year old child who was there amongst the company. Her hair in traditional dwarven braids with beads and all, wearing leathers as they did with embroidery for each member of the company emblazoned upon it, and gold and jewels that had been a gift to her from the now dead King himself.
Truly if she were not so utterly human and even elvish in appearance then she would look every inch like that of a young dwarven princess. And yet she mourned, just as keenly as the rest of them if not more so. The rest of the company aside from perhaps Bilbo had been jaded from fighting and wars. They were used to death and losing those they loved to a violent end.
She was not yet so. They wished she had never felt this pain.
In each Dwarfs casket they had not just the embroidered outfits from their young human, but they each also held a cloth. A hanky as some would say. Each was personalized for them. Thorins being a golden yellow with his name and an oak tree embroidered upon it in brown. Kilis being red with his name and a bow upon it in green. Filis being green with his name and an arrow upon it in red. Matching as the twins did even in death.
The company thought it only fitting that they be buried with the precious gifts that they had been gifted by the young one. They each had their own...and they all...they all would carry it until their dying days. They had promised her they would treasure them forever. And they would.
Nearly a hundred years later in the Mines of Moria Mirabel and Gandalf stared. They stared at the beautiful hanky's clutched tightly in skeletal cobwebbed hands. They were older now and frayed and damaged from the fighting but they were obviously so well cared for.
"Those hankies...me dad has one too...he and Balin never go anywhere without them." Gimlin the son of Gloin said noting where they were staring as Mirabel knelt down and crossed herself, whispering a prayer for her friends and trying to blink back the tears in her eyes.
"Mirabel made them for all of us. Back when our Company went to reclaim Erebor. We vowed to treasure them and carry them with us until our dying days..." Gandalf said and he touched his own hanky, a pure white with his name and a bird stitched up on it in light blue, in his pocket.
"Ori, Oin and Balin...you've kept your word my friends...now just as you kept my memory alive...so too shall I keep yours alive." Mirabel promised their skeletal corpses as she recognized each hanky she had made.
She would break down later. Mourn and grieve her friends who had loved and cared for her in a way even her own blood family did not.
For now...now she would do as they had taught her. She would get the job done. She would get to somewhere safe...and only once they were safe for a moment could she allow herself a moment to grieve.
IT DIDââ well by technical means you could say the hobbit part was a spin off and it evolved but. WHO CARES I LIKE THE HOBBIT AND LOTR đđđ
Anyway, very sad <\\\333 I forgot the twins died along with Thorin đđ might never recover, Thorin was unironically my favorite of the dwarves tbh đđ W Mirabel for the handkerchiefs, that's some real og stuff đđ clutching them in death is how you know they held them close
Hey but at least Mirabel's there đ homegirl is decked out in the dwarf drip putts respect, and honestly that's so real ă˝( ´`)ă Had to look up stuff on female dwarves, honestly was a little hard because a lot of it was from the show or ocs (I didn't watch the show and probably never will because I grew up on the movies). EITHER WAY. I still had fun drawing it, no matter how sad 𼸠based the beads off the wooden ones I wore when I was younger đ¤â

Gilded In Gold
Pairing: Fili x female reader
Words: 1,327
Warnings: Rated E, 18+. Post-sex body worship of the crown prince. Nudity. Slight masturbation (M), touching ones-self. Brief oral (M receiving)
Summary: In the blissful moments following your love-making, you admire your One as he relaxes in the early morning sun.
A/N: A little The Belly and chest fur worship because how can you not? @deanobingo
---
Fili sauntered almost lazily over to the bed, allowing you a long look at the body that had just finished pleasuring you beyond the point of exhaustion, your head resting heavily on a pillow that shielded you from the cold, stone floor while your eyes followed him effortlessly from where you lay.Â
His chest still heaved as he worked to catch his breath, and you smiled to yourself in appreciation of his vigorousness in the sport of love-making.Â
The toned muscles in his back flexed wildly when he lifted a bulging arm up to run his fingers through his hair that stuck to his face from sweat saturating the edges, turning the wheat-coloured tresses a deeper hue than normal. He sighed as he collapsed against the mattress, the wooden headboard supporting his upper half while his legs were cradled by the furs beneath them. One bent to rest at an angle, the other remaining against the bed; the full spread of his legs displaying his manhood in too-enticing of a way.Â
His torso contracted when he twisted toward the side table to retrieve his pipe, the purse of his lips something to be admired as he placed the intricately carved piece between them and worked at igniting the pipeweed. His brows knitted together when he inhaled deeply, all of his features relaxing upon his exhale, and when the plume of smoke faded away, it revealed his icy gaze at you from across the room.Â
You propped yourself up on an elbow, desperate to get a better look at the glory of your One who sprawled upon your bed as though he was an ornament amongst the furs.Â
His skin was tinted pink, his chest and cheeks flushed with heat and reminders of where your hands had been, and a thin sheen of sweat made him glow in the growing morning light. The soft orange beams highlighted him like the treasure he was, making the amber curls that covered his skin look as though they were plated in gold; suiting him like gleaming armor.
Taking another drag from his pipe, he rested the hand that held it on top of his raised knee, tilting his head curiously to the side as he continued to peer at you through heavy lids adorned with long, flaxen lashes.Â
You couldn't help but let your eyes follow his movements, traveling down from his eyes to his hand that had held you against him firmly mere moments ago, and then further to where his flaccid cock leaned heavily against his vast inner thigh. The coarser hairs that decorated his member appeared darker; sodden and untidy from a combination of sweat, spend and slick, making your core clench in knowing he was sticky and smelling of you.Â
You swallowed thickly, returning your gaze up to meet his, and like he knew what was on your mind and seeing how your body was already responding to wanting him again, Fili hooked an eyebrow high on his head.Â
Licking your lips, you shifted where you lay, purposefully adjusting in order to better display yourself to him; the art of seduction quickly flourishing into a subtle competition between you.Â
His belly jumped slightly as he let out a noise that was somewhere between a hum and a chuckle, giving a faint shake of his head in amusement, his wild hair gleaming like gold as the sunlight shined on it. The day-old braids were now almost unrecognizable and completely unruly from how much your fingers had torn through them, the quickly approaching day revealing how many hours of the night were dedicated to ruining his previously-neat strands.Â
Dust danced in the light that beamed in through the window, spreading a warmth across his relaxed form that accentuated the dense spans of curls on his chest, and in wanting to card your hands through it, you mimicked the action on your own skin, rubbing your breasts in slow, languid strokes.Â
The heat of the intense morning sun set you aflame as much as Fili's stare did, feeling his hungry eyes cast upon you, watching you like a beast about to devour their prey.Â
Trying to hold his look but failing, your eyes flitted down to the apex of his spread legs, the flex of his hardening cock distracting you and making your hands grope yourself more desperately.Â
Your eyelids fell closed as you proceeded to roam your body in hopes of it being him, only to cease when he spoke with a quiet surety that seemed to echo through your chambers.Â
"Are you going to leave me sitting here all alone, AmrâlimĂŞ?" he asked, his voice as sultry as the look he gave you when your eyes flashed open again, a hint of mischief playing at the corners of his mouth while a blush rose up on his cheeks that matched the rise of his shaft.Â
"My apologies," you purred, sitting upright. "I was simply trying to spare you from my wandering hands and salacious ideas. It seems I cannot control myself when you look the way you do right now."
His chest and belly shook with a hearty laugh, his dimples appearing in his cheeks and the lines around his eyes spreading a warmth through you that mirrored the fiery heat showing in his blue irises.Â
Rising from the piles of blankets and pillows arranged in front of the hearth that had been your make-shift bed for the night, you walked slowly over to the bed, smiling when Fili nodded his head to the vacant space beside him and patted the furs to coax you more.Â
You knelt on the bed, one knee at a time, your arms slowly alternating with the movement of your legs as you crawled toward him; the hunger held in his eyes as he watched you approach making you shiver with anticipation.Â
Fili parted his legs further, his offering making your mouth water, and taking himself in a firm hold, he stroked up and down on his length a few times as he waited for you to settle up to him.Â
You stopped just at his legs, letting a hand trail up the back of his thigh of the one that was bent, your lips gingerly kissing the top of his knee. Fili let go of his shaft, sighing as your fingers wandered down to his center and tickled near his taught sack, his head leaning back against the headboard, belly quivering to your touch. You cupped his ballocks in your palm, gently massaging them until he growled with approval, tugging on them ever so slightly until his chest rose and fell sharply. Lowering your head, you captured his cock that wagged from his squirming motions in your mouth, swirling your tongue around the tip, earning a sharp hiss from between his gritted teeth as he bucked up slightly off the bed.Â
Releasing him and hovering over his impatient member, you grinned at him, flashing a devious look through your lashes.Â
Before you could make any further acts of provocation, Fili grabbed onto your arms and hauled you against his front, and in one fluid motion, flipped you onto your back where you were pinned under his weight.
"It's unfair to tease me like that," he muttered, his lips ghosting on yours while his hands carded through your hair, pulling on it so you tipped your head back and exposed your neck to him.Â
"Is it?" you spoke nervously, but sanguinely, anxious to see what power he would unleash on you.Â
"Mhmm," he purred, licking a path up your throat before burying his face to rub his beard on your delicate skin.Â
The fur on his chest brushed your sensitive nipples in the most alluring way, making you arch up off the bed to press yourself more against the silky curls, his belly laying heavily on your middle to push you back down into the furs.Â
"You're in a world of trouble, Ghivashel."

Heart of Middle Earth Chapter 4: âSo it BeginsâŚâ
Thump. Thump. Thump.
You stir in your sleep, trying to work out what that thumping sound is. As you realize where you are, your eyes fly open. The dwarves around you are packing up their gear into their packs.
âI was just about to wake you up, lass!â Bofur says standing above you.
âHow soon are we leaving?â
âJust as soon as everyone is packed.â
Bilbo had lent you some blankets and pillows to sleep on, so you fold them up and placed them neatly on the couch nearest you.
âAre we going to tell Bilbo that we are leaving?â You ask Gandalf.
âLet the hobbit sleep, goodness knows he needs it after last night.â
âI bet heâll wake up and come running after us!â Ori theorizes.
âNo, the hobbit will stay. Heâs made his choice.â Thorin asserts.
You all manage to leave the hobbit hole without waking the sleeping hobbit. Thorin assigned the group in which order they would walk. Him in front, the others in the middle, and Fili, Kili, and you in the back. You know he placed you in the back because he thought you would struggle to keep up, though you donât mind because you get a chance to talk to Fili and Kili. When you get to Bree, Gandalf hands you several gold and silver coins, and tells you to buy whatever you might need for the adventure. You walk around the town and buy clothes, a scabbard, a sword, boots, and a sleeping roll. Kili convinces you to also get a bow and arrows.
(Outfit options)
When you get back, you notice Fili saddling a chestnut colored horse.Â
âAh, Miss Y/n. I was just tightening the saddle for you.â
âThank you, but I donât know how to ride a horse.â
âYou donât?â
âNo, where I come from we donât really ride horses a lot.â
âWhat a strange place⌠well no matter, weâll only be riding slowing today so more time for you to practice!â
âI could also just walk-â
Youâre cut off by Fili lifting you up onto the horse.
âWhat are you doing!?â
âHelping you learn. Best way to learn something is to jump right in.â
âIf you say so.â
Once Fili makes sure you are steady on your horse, he jumps onto his and moves so that his horse is right beside yours.Â
âIâll be right here if you need me.â
âAnd Iâll be right here on your other side,â Kili adds.
âThanks, I feel so much safer,â you say sarcastically.
You ride for about an hour, feeling more confident about riding a horse, though that might be because you have a prince either side of you. You start to daydream, getting interrupted when you hear,
âWait! Wait! I signed it.â
Balin takes the contract and looks it over.Â
âEverything appears to be in order. Welcome, master Baggins, to the company of Thorin Oakenshield.â
When Bilbo asks if he can walk instead of ride, he gets lifted up on a pony just as suddenly as you did in Bree.
In front of you, you hear, âCome on, Nori! Pay up!â
âWhatâs that about?â Bilbo questions.
Oh, they took wagers on whether or not youâd turn up. Most of them bet that you wouldnât,â Gandalf answers.
Bilbo: And what did you think?
Just as before Gandalf could answer a coin sack is tossed at him.Â
âMy dear fellow, I never doubted you for a second.â
âNeither did I,â you add, though you were not included in the bet.
Bilbo sneezes, âOh, itâs horse hair. Having a reaction. UhâŚwait, wait. Stop! Stop! We have to turn around. I forgot my handkerchief.â
Bofur turns his horse around and tears off a piece of his cloak, âHere! Use this.â
âYouâll have to manage without pocket handkerchiefs, and a good many other things, Bilbo Baggins, before we reach our journeyâs end. You were born to the rolling hills and little rivers of the Shire. But home is now behind you. The world is ahead.âÂ
Over the next couple of days you hear orcs in the night and find out how annoying and big trolls are. Thankfully, Gandalf saves you before you were eaten. The dwarves raid the troll cave and bury some of the treasure inside for safe keeping.
You meet Radagast the Brown and get chased by Orcs on Wargs. Fili grabbed your hand at some point while you are all running, helping you stay with the group and not fall behind.
Gandalf finds a way to escape the Orcs and you and Fili slide down into the cave just before you were both caught. You follow the pathway through the cave and come out to, âThe Valley of Imladris. In the common tongue, itâs known by another name.âÂ
âRivendell.â

Hey! Since you said, you don't get many asks, do you mind if I send you another one? I'd like to know, who are your three favourite characters and why :) (though obviously no stress, since asks are supposed to be fun)
When I read this I was like EASY! Then I got thinking and now Iâm like wait who really are my three favorite characters?
1. Fili. Obviously, easy, always number one haha. From the first time I saw AUJ (a year ago, I know Iâm behind lol) Fili was the one that stood out to me instantly! It was pretty much from the first introduction I was like yep, heâs hot heâs my new fave. Then the more I watched the movies, read the book and watched all those hours of behind the scenes I really started to like Fili for more than just looks. Iâm the oldest and so watching him with Kili and seeing how they interact together, how protective he is, and how loyal he is, it reminds me of how I am towards my sisters. Heâs so funny also, the (limited very limited) lines he has always make me laugh, depending on what heâs doing. Not all of his lines make me laugh, when heâs serious I take him seriously. And his facial expressions! Give it up for DeanO and his amazing acting! Filiâs facial expressions are so spot on. I love how you can see a playfulness in him but itâs like heâs holding back because of the seriousness of the journey and what it means for them. His speech to Thorin in lake town, freaking breaks my heart. You can just tell how much this means to him, how much his sick brother means to him and how he can see that Thorin is getting harder to reach and then when he makes it to Erebor and sees the gold sickness, itâs like a punch in the gut to him but Fili doesnât back down and stays loyal and true to his uncle and fellow dwarves. He is someone who will sacrifice to help others, in the book he cuts off his beard to help saved the other dwarves in Mirkwood. And we know how precious facial hair is to dwarves, that mustâve been like shit I donât want to but I will to help save the others. I so wish we had more Fili content but Iâm glad we have what we do. Oh and let me not forget the absolutely gut wrenching final scenes of him. HE KNOWS those orcs are there and yet he tells Kili that heâs got this and sacrifices himself to save his brother. Heâs also such a badass fighter! His million daggers all over, that scene in Mirkwood is my favorite! His double swords and then using a bow at the end! What canât he fight with? Fili will always be number one
2. Anders, Bragi. Gosh I freaking obsessed with Anders freaking Johnson (from the almighty johnsonâs). Yes partly the reason I like him so much is because of DeanO but he plays him so well!! Anders is such a little asshole at times but how can you not love him? It wasnât until my second rewatch of TAJ when I really paid attention to Anders and his character and not just DeanO. One thing that I really like about Anders are his cheeky comments to everyone, they are hilarious! Always spot on! I feel so bad for him also for how his family treats him. Yeah Ty and Axl are nice to him but I feel like Mike influences them and everyone else to see the negative in Anders, which isnât fare. No matter what his family does or says to him heâs still so loyal to them and I love that about Anders. He could totally ditch them and do his own thing but he doesnât and still sticks up for them. And his friendship with Dawn is my favorite. He can be a dick to her but you can tell how much he really cares for her. When he uses his Bragi powers, shooting fall so fast lol. Yeah thereâs times when I donât condone what he uses his powers for and there are times when I think it was smart for him to use them. I also love that all the filming locations for taj are in the north island because thatâs where Iâll be on my vacation and Iâve already found some filming locations to visit haha
3. Kili. I know I know I have his brother but I love Kili also! I just love how heâs the fun reckless brother. He has fun, finds love, and is also so loyal to his family and fellow dwarves at the same time. I canât imagine how much pressure heâs under (and his brother) for being next in line for the throne after his brother and knowing how important their journey. Like the troll scene where him and Fili are in charge of the ponies but they get taken and heâs the first one to step up for Bilbo when the trolls get him. His attempt at hitting on the elves in Rivendell, so iconic. Him stepping up in Mirkwood to open the gate for them to escape and getting hit with an arrow. His tear jerker standing up to Thorin speech before they go to battle. Heâs so freaking badass with a bow, like yes please I could watch you all day use it! Even when he was sick in lake town and helping out. Stubborn and loyal to a fault! Just like Fili, the lines he has and his facial expressions are spot on. And letâs not forget how Thorin only says his name throughout the movies haha. Like trust me, I donât think we could forget who Filiâs brother is. Kili is just so freaking adorable! I love him so much
So I kinda rambled and just went crazy writing this. Iâve been working on this for a few days now and I keep coming back being like âoh my gosh I canât believe I forgot to add this!â But number 2 and 3 can switch, I think I like Anders and Kili equally the same
#gosh I could keep writing about Fili lol#I had to stop cause it was getting so long#thank you for this!#it was so fun to think about why I like each character

The Hobbit - A Kili x F!Reader Fanfic
Masterlist
The Truth
The dwarves are unhappy with a meatless meal, and tensions rise when Y/n, with elven heritage, is treated as royalty by Elrond. Y/n asserts her independence and playfully challenges royal norms. A food fight breaks out during dinner, and later, Y/n encounters the dwarves frolicking in a fountain, resulting in a soaked dress. Despite mishaps, playful banter ensues between Y/n and Kili, hinting at a budding relationship. The evening ends with Y/n surprising Kili with a cheeky kiss, leaving him dazed, and Thorin observing their connection.
Tw- None
The dwarves were not happy.
There was no meat at all on the plates that were put in front of them, just green things that tasted horrible. Thorin had refused to sit at the table and eat food given to him by the species he hated the most. As he looked out of the large hole he stood in front of, his mind was trying to process what had just happened.
Elrond has called Y/n âYour Majestyâ. She is related to that pampered asshole that is King Thranduil.
Anger flooded through his veins, how come Y/n hadnât told them.
The chatter behind him stopped. Thorin turned around because the dwarves being quiet during a meal is nothing normal.
As he turned, Y/n walked into the light of the hall. The dress was pooling at her feet, the sleeves were way too long for her. Her hair was pulled back and had been put into a plat, the tiara was weaved into her.
She looked gorgeous, but you could tell she was uncomfortable. As she moved to sit next to Kili, Erland grabbed her hand to make her sit next to him.
âY/n, you have to sit here!â he exclaimed as Y/n stood up. That is when she exploded.
âOh, do I, I thought I could sit where I want, and I want to sit with my friends. Not some posh elf boy with an ego that is the size of Smaugâs love for gold. Now stop telling me what to do!â Y/n commanded.
Ever since she had walked into this place, that she used to miss, the people were bowing and telling her where to go and what to do. Surely a princess should have her freedom. She spun on her heel and walked over to where all the dwarves were sat, with astonished looks on their faces. Thorin went to brood out of the window, with a smirk on his face.
At least the sass was passed down.
The chatter returned as she sat down and dug into the salad that was in front of her. After 5 minutes, she looked up at Kili and said,
âI am so sorry about my past. I thought you would treat me differnerly if you would know that i wasnât a normal half elf.â
Kili smiled and put his large hand on her small, now less muddy, hand.
âI get it, we wouldnât treat you any different from how we do now. I mean, Iâm a prince, and Bofur threw a rock at me the other day.â Kili laughed as the look of shock crossed Y/nâs face.
Then a lettuce leaf smacked her in the back of the head.
âAll right, which one of you was that!â she swirled around and picked up a parsnip. All of the dwarves pointed at Fili.
She swung her arm back and threw the vegetable at Fili. But it was way off target and hit Thorin in the back of the head; everyone went quiet.
âOh Skirth!â she swore as Thorin slowly spun around. She was dead. Then another lettuce leaf hit him in the forehead. Kili and Fili jumped out of their seats and began to throw vegetables at whoever was in reach. Twice Kili got a tomato in the face; Y/n seemed to be the main target for three of the dwarves.
Kili ran towards her and threw her over his shoulder.
âKili Durin! Put me down now!â She screamed, slamming her fists into his shoulder.
âOw! No, stop wriggling, will you. Ow,â he argued back but eventually put her on the floor.
âWatch this,â Kili whispered into her pointed ears.
He picked up a potato and threw it in Erlandâs direction. He moved out of the way just in time, and it hit the statue behind him. The two burst out laughing. The evening was very enjoyable.
Y/n was walking around Rivendale. She kept thinking of her mother; would the guards of Rivendale tell her father she was here? They had to go near Mirkwood, so would she run into her brother or her father?
As she walked past the fountain, shouts caught her attention. They seemed happy. As she turned the corner, her eyes caught a sight she wouldnât forget for a while.
All of the dwarves were in the fountain, naked. She squeaked, and that caught the attention of them all. She spun around as Kili got out of the fountain.
âYou alright, Lass?â He asked, walking behind her, not being able to see her face. She was glad about that, as she was bright red.
âYes, Kili, Iâm fine. Could you just get back in the water or put a towel on⌠please,â she muttered as he got closer.
âCome on, Kili,â Fili shouted in his direction. Kili laughed and walked back to the fountain.
Y/n turned around as she heard a massive splash. All of the dwarves had jumped in, causing a massive splash to get her soaked.
Her dress was ruined, which she didnât care about, but it was starting to stick to her body. Making her curves stick out a bit.
âGuys!â she moaned.
She walked back to her room, dripping water all over the place. She was freezing.
âY/n!â Her name was shouted as she turned to see Kili, this time in a green shirt with brown trousers on.
âKili, Iâm not mad at you.â His face lit up. âBut please donât do that again.â
âWell, it wasnât my idea it wasââ
âLet me guess, Fili.â
âYes,â Kili said, looking at the floor.
âActually, I was surprised that you landed in the fountain. Where did you aim when we needed to shoot the warg earlier?â The e/c-eyed girl looked at Kili with a smirk. She had pushed a couple of buttons.
âHey, at least I donât trip over my own feet.â
Leaning in, Y/n glared and stuck her tongue out at him. The two burst into a fit of giggles.
Kili gazed into her eyes as she looked at him.
âAt least I can argue with a troll.â
âAt least, I donât get caught by a troll.â
âI was saving Bilbo!â Y/n cried, putting her hands on her hips.
âI saved you twice!â Kili gave her a sideways glance.
âOnce, and you told them to drop me; if they did, I would have landed on my head.â
âAnd we wouldnât want your pretty ears to get squished, would we?â
Y/n punched Kili in the shoulder.
âOw! Stop being so rough,â Kili cried out as he held onto his arm.
âI thought you liked it rough,â Y/n cheekily said, raising an eyebrow.
Kiliâs face went into a dark shade of red. His head suddenly was filled with situations that made his legs twang a bit.
He came to a halt at her side. Kili wanted to say something. Anything, he wanted to make her feel like this. As she reached her door, she looked at Kili and spoke.
âThanks for walking me back.â She turned to open the door to her room.
âYouâre welcome; oh, and Thorin wants us to leave at midnight. We need to get to Dale before Durinâs Day,â Kili told her, gazing at her.
âOh, thank you, Kili,â Y/n replied, her thigh holster was beginning to rub; she mentally swore.
âGoodnight, Princess,â Kili said as he walked back to the place where the dwarves slept.
Y/n stopped, her heart beating at 100 miles per hour. An idea popped into her head. She spun around and kissed Kili on his cheek. When she lowered herself to the ground, she smirked at him.
âGoodnight, Prince.â
Y/n disappeared into her room, leaving Kili in the corridor on his own.
Kili had never been so still. He was really tempted to open that door and kiss her back. Walking over to the door, he put his hand on the doorknob.
âKili.â
His face shot up, and he saw Thorin. How much had he seen? The whole thing. He smiled at the young dwarf and put his arm around his shoulder and walked the dazed boy back to the room he was staying in.

Protagonist, Heroes and Superheroes: Who are my Favourites?
Hello wandering traveller! I'm back again to yap; this time about SOME of my favourite protagonists. This feels strange to me as I gravitate towards liking villains and anti-heroes more that the good guys haha.
The Hobbit:
I don't need to say anything for this one.
He's my adopted grandpa in my delulu mind. I honestly think I have a soft spot (NOT IN A ROMNTIC WAY) for him.
Honestly, for a good two years I was a Fili over Kili typa gal, but lately my brain chemistry altered and now I have a growing love for Kili. I do think he is still a bit cocky for my liking - but love is blind so I will ignore it haha.
Lord of the Rings:
This is also part of the Hobbit section as well, but Gandalf the Grey is a wee tinker isn't he? Also, Gandalf the Grey over Gandalf the White any day of the week - I think he got too serious (even though he got upgraded to the highest wizard which does make sense but still).
I don't need to say anything for this part 2.
I tried to find a memeable/funny image for Arwen, but she's just inhumanly beautiful in every picture haha. Hot take, I definitely prefer Peter Jackson's adaptation of Arwen than the original as she has more of a story rather than be mentioned a couple of times throughout the trilogy.
The Witcher:
It's Henry Cavill. What more? I think even though he is more (or tries to be) neutral as a Witcher is conditioned to be, I'm adding him on the good side. He also does a lot of heroic acts which would deem him being a sort of hero.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, he is my favourite character in the Witcher series by a long shot! If there is anything I remember from the books, it would be him talking about his drinking (blood as he is a higher vampire) problem which caused his misses to leave him and ruin his life. It is more funny when you read it for the first time as you never expected that from a vampire.
Marvel:
This one is really hard cause I like quite a lot of the characters so I might have to do a part 2 for this one.
It would be a sin if I didn't put this image in. So, Blade has been my favourite marvel character, and my favourite character in general since I was a wee one. I remember watching Blade II when I was 6 (at an age where I really shouldn't have been watching it), and it was the only thing that calmed me down after I almost chopped my thumb off. That is another story to tell - one of my lore drops.
Another character who I've loved since I was still in nappies. I thought, and still think that he is one of the coolest characters in any comic book and film adaptations.
"He's the best guy arouuuuund" "What about the people he murdered?" "What muuurrrdddeerrrr?" I'm putting him here cause I want to; Bucky started out good and ended up good in the end. I will defend this guy at all costs!
Star Wars:
TBH despite liking all of the characters in Star Wars, Princess Leia is one of the few protagonists that I really like. I do remember when I was a kid trying to copy her hair styles and outfit haha. She's an icon, she's a legend and she is the moment.
Another fashion icon (haha jks). C-3PO is my spirit animal.
Foundation:
I honestly am inspired by her to get better at math (even though I left school 5 years ago) as she is insanely skilled at mathematics. She seems like one of a few in the series that is not insane in some shape or form.
Harry Potter:
Give him to me now please. Also another character I don't need to explain why he's one of my favourites.
He's just a walking teddy bear with a heart of gold. Also, get this man a baby dragon.
That's all for today's post! What are you favourite protagonists?

@i-am-pinkie Here you go: unfinished, not gonna get finished, an entire AU in my head that never made it any further to paper:
---
Kili knew the man.
Not personally of course, but he'd heard the tales of the lone crusader who neither raped nor pillaged and only ever killed in fair combat.
A crusader with honour. What a concept!
The tales spoke of a man with a long, fair hair like burnished gold, twisted into ropes around his ears, and piercing blue eyes like the sky at noon. He'd taken part in crusades before and left enough men alive in his wake for the word to spread.
But it seemed that the man's luck had ran out; his God failed to protect him from the vicious tempest that shattered the latest fleet of crusader ships at their shores (Kili had found what remained of it only this morning) and flung him, without a horse or even a skin of water (but still with his infernal, curiously Arabic in design, twin swords strapped to his back) into the desert.
And now the man's neck was at the mercy of Kili's sword. Another proof that God, that is: Kili's God, was great.
Admittedly, getting to the point where the Crusader was down on his knees before Kili took a lot more effort and a lot less godly intervention than Kili would have liked. It took a long duel in the sweltering heat, that all of his servants tried to talk him out of, quite a lot of blood letting on both parts, and one rather dangerous stab wound to Kili's thigh, obtained when the man, desperately trying to defend himself against Kili, drunk on the fervour of a battle nearly won and ready to deal a killing blow, seemed to produce a dagger out of thin air and ram it all the way to the hilt into his flesh.
And yet, when it was all said and done, it was Kili who was the last one standing.
He swayed, blinked, but kept a steady hand on the hilt of his sword.
"Surrender," Kili demanded, using the very tip of his sword to lift the man's chin. For a moment he drowned in the blue lagoons of the man's serious eyes; he followed a soft lick of a tongue over chapped lips; he took in the power of his stance and their positions.
The man continued to stare, apparently prepared to meet his fate.
"My name is Kilian-al-Durin, a nephew to the Great Bin-Thorin and the Commander of all his Southern Armies," Kili looked around and vaguely observed that there was no sign of his man servants or his horse; in retrospect they did come rolling down some of the dunes, and any horse who waited around in the baking sun that long without a drink, wouldn't have made it back to the stables anyway. "I give you my word that if you surrender, your life will be spared. You will be my captive. Make your -"
Kiliâs world lurched sickeningly.
"I surrender," Kili heard, or perhaps only thought he'd heard it, as he softly toppled into the white-hot sands of the Sahara.
---
It was later said that the man walked into Al-Asqa two days later directly from the desert, through the Eestern gate.
He carried Kili tossed over his shoulder, it was said, bleeding himself and on the verge of collapse from heat and exhaustion.
"My name is Fili Penderson and I am this man's captive," he'd announced, loudly, for everyone to hear, as he handed Kili over to the nearest startled guard. "He needs a healer," he'd added, as the others rushed to seize him.
Thankfully, he didn't think to remove the dagger like so many of his comrades would have done.
Thankfully, the same storm front that destroyed his ship, rained its last over the Western wadis the night before, providing him with a limited supply of water at least, and leading him to where human habitation might rely on the very same source of water.
The God was great.
He was great, but incomprehensible, Kili mused, deeply regretting his life's choices, that brought him such utter humiliation.
His own medic, Oin, did a decent enough a job of keeping him alive long enough for uncle Thorin to send a mysterious woman with a bundle of precious herbs from the Northern mountains that finally broke his fever and fought back the infection spreading through his body like wildfire. The blade, though Arabic in design, like the man's swords, wasn't poisoned; but it wasn't clean either.
Kili was set to live, though whether he was going to ever walk without a limp was in God's hands.
And the God was great.
Kili scowled uncharitably at the twin blades that had been cleaned and presented to him.
"Bring him to me," he finally ordered, dismissing his servants and taking over his own fanning duties himself, in case there was any more humiliation forthcoming.
It took close to three weeks for Kili's curiosity to win over his resentment. Three weeks that Kili spent on top of a mound of pillows, with his leg stretched out before him and sipping chilled wine with varying amounts of the milk of the poppy; three weeks that his crusader spent in his deepest, darkest dungeon Kili owned.
It showed.
Kili wrinkled his nose, as the man swayed gently before him and squinted at the muted sunlight streaming through the cracks between the shutters. His wounds had been dressed and he was being given the same food and water rations as any other prisoner, but it could hardly restore a man who had been tried and tested by the Sahara. A man, who before that had been tried by his own God.
"Not like that!" Kili snapped at his staff. "Have him bathed and dressed. And use the oils," he waved his hand dismissively.
The crusader's eyes snapped to his form, narrowed down -
"And get rid of the lice. And fleas. I want every single last one of them gone," he added as an after-thought, running his fingers over the expensive silken fabric of his pillows.
"I don't have lice!" the man protested, as he was dragged out of the room, but it hardly mattered. Kiliâs servants were meticulous in fulfilling his wishes; the man would be as clean as a freshly bathed Houri by the time Kili saw him next.

Loveâs treasure; Kili x reader
*Authorâs note*
Okay so this has been sitting in my inbox for awhile but I finally got the inspiration and time to do this fic after getting the boost from another Kili and Fili request as well as my Celestial story. So @sweetpeapodâ thank you for your patience and hope you see this fic and enjoy it as much as I did writing it these past couple days.
Synopsis: Reader is Aragornâs older cousin (I imagine by 11 years so sheâs about 21). Gandalf knew of her skills as a Ranger for both tracking and navigating and sought her out to be apart of the company.
NO WARNINGS REALLY JUST SOME FLUFF and a bit of angst from parental death/abandonment.Â

I observed the dark blue bead in my hand and pondered just how it had gotten lost. Â It was a game Iâve always like to play, anytime I would find a lost object or weapon Iâd always come up with a good story on why it got lost and whether or not the owner of said object is out there scouring Middle Earth for itâs safe return.
âWhat are you up to sister?â I looked up and peeking from behind the Elvish statue was my baby cousin Aragorn, or better known for his safety Estel. Â Yes, Aragorn the future king of Men is in fact my cousin on his motherâs side (she is my fatherâs younger sister).
âI thought you were to be in your studies with Lindir? Heâs taken a great deal of time and effort to educate you little one.â I lectured him with a raised brow as he came and sat down beside me on the bench.
âBut I already know of the founding of Rivendell and how to speak Elvish.â
âThen tell me who was the mentor of Lord Elrond?â I replied in Elvish. Â He looked at me puzzled before he crossed his arms pouting.
âI donât like you no more.â
âOh yeah not the first time youâve said that to me. Or the time after that or the time after that.â I playfully reprimanded him lowering my voice to as deep of a baritone as I could muster while tickling his sides making his squirm and laugh. Â âWhat was that you were looking at earlier?â
âWhat? You mean this?â I said picking up the bead. Â He looked at it with curious eyes and asked me.
âWhere did it come from?â
âWhy donât you answer that question. Where do you believe this bead came from cousin?â he stared at the bead, pondering over it. Â His tongue slightly peeking out from his lips as he said.
âI believeâŚ..this bead came from some merchants who were on their way to the Blue Mountains when suddenly trolls from the North ambushed them and gobbled them all up, leaving only this bead.â
âGoodness child! You really believe such a cruel fate came to innocent merchants?â he nodded. Â âAlright, then Iâm going to have to speak with Elladan about changing your bedtime stories.â
âNo please (Y/n). He tells the best stories donât make him stop!â I smirked softly and said as I ruffled his head.
âVery well Estel. Now care to help me braid this into my hair?â he nodded as I sat down onto the floor so that he could properly braid my hair before putting the bead on it.
âWhere do you think this bead came from sister?â he asked me.
âWell little one Iâve been putting a lot of thought into it. And I think this bead might hold more meaning than meets the eye. I believe this bead was once part of a Princeâs clothing ensemble. My story is that he fell in love with a woman but wished to give her not gold or jewels for her hand, but something more meaningful to him. So he took this bead from his clothing to present to his love. However, when he went to present his gift to his love, he had overheard of his love being taken by orcs while she was out for a ride on her horse. In his haste, he dropped the bead hoping to rescue his love in time.â
âAnd did he? Did he ever save his true love?â Estel asked me as he paused in mid-braid.
âIâd like to say they did. And the two of them are living together in the comforts of their newly built home hoping to raise a family together.â We both turned around and there stood Kili.
âPrince Kili!â exclaimed Estel as he raced over to the young dwarf prince. Â Kili smiled at my cousin and ruffled his head playfully before greeting him.
âHello there Estel, being good for your cousin I see?â
â(Y/n) was telling me of a bead she found while out on your travels.â
âSo I overheard. Hope itâs alright if I added a small opinion to your story.â He said turning to me.
âIâm always open to new suggestions. I tend to leave mine in a mist of mystery. Drives this little one nuts.â
âShe never seems to want to finish the story with her trinkets and earnings.â He whined.
âOne day lad youâll see that sometimes itâs better when things are left to the imagination, instead of always having a one-sided ending.â Kili said to Estel.
âAnd speaking of story endings, itâs best that you get back to your studies with Lindir. Heâs probably already alerted Lord Elrond of your skippingâs. And you know how Lord Elrond is that you keep up with your studies.â
âAww! But Kili only just arrived.â Estel whined.
âTell you what lad, you head back and finish your studies. Then once youâre done, meet me and my brother in the training grounds and weâll teach you how we Dwarves battle off orcs and goblins.â
âCan I sister please?!â Estel begged me clasping his hands together and looking up at me with those bright blue eyes of his.
âIf your mother and Lord Elrond say itâs alright.â Estel cheered before racing off and bidding us goodbye. Â I playfully shook my head, âI swear that child is more like a rabbit than a boy. Always full of energy and on the move.â
âAhhh let him enjoy it. He is young, soon heâs going to grow and lose that sense of wonder and joy once he gets out into the real world.â
âYou didnât.â I teased as Kili gawked and softly laughed.
âTrue, but there are times where I wish I could go back to the days of my childhood. Me and Fili battling out against dragons and orcs and winning without any consequence of the outcome.â I nodded in agreement. Â âSo what was the bead that you and your cousin were discussing the origins of?â I then showed Kili the strand that Estel had braided for me which held the dark blue bead in my hair.
âI had found it just shortly before we had a run in with those trolls. Saw it hidden just beside a small patch of rocks. Figured it was worth keeping rather than letting it be forgotten amongst Yavannaâs earth.â When I turned to Kili I saw that his eyes were widened and his jaw seemed tense. Â âKili? Kili?â
âHuh? What sorry I-I wasâŚ..I have to go.â Suddenly he turned his back and hastily left the garden. My head tilted confused as to why he had left so sudden without another word? I shrugged before sitting back down to admire the bead.
*Kiliâs POV*
She had my bead. (Y/n) had my family bead, not only did she have it but she was wearing it. Could-could it mean? No thatâs impossible! Thereâs no way a Ranger of the North could fall for someone like me? But then why would she place my bead into her hair and have it braided?
ââŚ..li? Oi Kili!â I snapped out of my daze to see Fili and Bofur standing before me in what appeared to be a den area of the Elvish realm.  All over the place there were beds and wooden furniture carved to perfection.
âYou looked about as lost as a lamb there lad, everything alright?â asked Bofur.
âIâwell Iâm beginning to question that myself.â
âWhat is it Kili? Youâre not ill are you?â
âNo Fili, well not in the normal sense of illness.â
âAhh-hahaha I think I know.â Bofur said. Â âYou, Kili, have fallen under the sickness of love. And I think I know just who it is that has caught your affections.â Bofur wiggled his brow towards my brother as I let out a groan.
âItâs not like that!â
âSo you donât have feelings for (Y/n)?â asked Fili. Â I did a double take towards my brother and said to him.
âWait youâyou knew?â
âYour my brother Kili. You may have always been a flirt back home but never before have I seen you act around a woman the way you do with (Y/n).â I felt my face heat up as I said to them.
âItâs not just that.â They both looked at me perplexed. Â âRemember how I had told you Fili that I had lost one of my beads that mother gave me?â my brother nodded. Â âIt turns out (Y/n) had found it. Not only that but after just recently talking with her, I had seen that she had braided it into her hair.â
At that confession, they both began to understand the gravity of the situation.
âSurely she must not know what it means to us. I mean you see a bead and the first thought is to braid it into your hair. Surely she canât know what it means to us, does she?â I asked nervously.
âI wouldnât be knowing Kili, but if I am honest with yah, I think she might feel the same about you.â Bofur said.
âHow would you know Bofur?â I snapped.
âYou may not know it laddie, but that lass will look at you when she knows youâre not looking. And I see the same loving look in her eyes that you give to her.â
âYouâre jesting Bofur. Thereâs no way she looks at me like that!â
âI wouldnât be too sure brother.â Fili said. Â I turned to him as he continued, âRemember back with the trolls? When they were going to put you onto the spit, (Y/n) fought to take your place.â
âBut wasnât that because weâre part of the same company? Sheâs just looking out for us. Thatâs her nature. Her kind, caring, motherly nature.â I trailed off as I felt my heart skip a beat.
âAll Iâm saying brother is maybe you should talk to her.â
âAnd how should I start it off? How about saying something like, âGreetings (Y/n), you know the bead youâve got in your hair in that braid? Itâs actually my family bead and by braiding it into your hair youâve agreed to be my wife. Will you marry me?â No.â I scoffed the last part. Â âI canât force that onto her.â
âIâm not saying lead on with that. But maybe just talk to her and see if there is any mutual feelings between the two of you. If there is, youâll finally be happy with her. If not, then at least youâll have your answer.â
âAnd if it is a rejection that comes my way? How do you expect me to cope with it? Sheâll never look at me the same way again.â
âEven if she does reject your affections Kili, I doubt (Y/n) is the kind of person to make whatever bond she makes feel inferior to how it was before. But like your brother said laddie, youâll never know unless you talk to her.â Bofur said.
I looked at the two of them, took a deep breath and thanked them for the advice before I left to go find (Y/n) before it grew dark.
*1ST Person POV*
I was at the training grounds with my bow and arrow hoping to get in some last minute training before I would retire for the night. Â I notched an arrow onto the bowstring, pulled it back, took a breath before steadying my hand and let the arrow fly. Â It hit dead center and I notched another arrow into the bow before releasing that and it hit the center as well as splitting the arrow.
âAhh, when did you learn to do that?â I turned to see Kili looking between me and the target in amazement.
âWhen I was a little girl, when I refused to believe that a bow was just something my aunt would tie to my curly locks.â I said notching another arrow into my bow and fired it at the target splitting the other two arrows. Â âMy uncle agreed. He said learning to fight was essential whether you wore a dress or trousers. He was the wisest man I ever knew.â
âWish my kin were as supportive at first when I had wish to take the bow and arrow as my main weapon of choice.â
âThing was he wasnât just supportive. My uncle heâhe was the only father figure I ever had after my own dad walked out on my mother. After she was killed by orcs, my aunt took me in. He took me aside one early morning, taught me everything I know about fighting and said to me, â(Y/n), my little raven. If you remember what youâre fighting for youâll never miss your targetâ.â I said remember my uncle Arathorn as a good man.
He was not only a good leader to the Rangers up in the North, but he was a loving man who loved his wife. Â And loved a child that was not his own blood as a father should. Â Raised her, taught her to fight but also keep a level head. I only wish that Aragorn had the same opportunity to bond with his father as I did.
âHe sounds like a good man.â Kili told me solemnly.
âAye. He was.â I said clasping the necklace he gave me a year after being adopted into the family. Itâs not much just a simple silver chain with a raven in flight pendant on it but itâs so special to me and never once have I taken it off.
âIs that why you like collecting small objects?â he asked me. Â I smiled solemnly and nodded.
âWhen I was a child and would go with him on patrols, most of the Rangers tired of how I would stop them to find a loose button or a smooth pebble perfect for skipping across the river. But never my uncle, in fact he always encouraged me to keep at it. Said that Iâd never know when I might find the greatest treasure of them all.â
We sat there in a comfortable silence for a brief moment (although it felt like an eternity) until Kili finally spoke up.
âI uhhâŚ..â he trailed off softly.  âI think you mightâve missed the target.â I looked at him confused before turning to the target where my split arrows were.  âNo notâŚ.â He softly chuckled, âI meant with your story. The one you told your cousin about. For the bead.â
âDid I?â he softly nodded but he refused to look me directly in the eye. Â âCare to elaborate your theory of this bead?â
âWell itâs not much different from yours. Just some minor details changed. The bead did in fact belong to a prince. But the bead was a part of his familyâs heirloom, one that would be meant for a future courting. However, while out on a quest, he had realized that he had lost it. He searched and searched but could not find the bead anywhere. The Prince was heartbroken, not only of the fact he had lost his family bead, but that one day he had hoped to give it to the woman he loves was now gone. Then a few days after the start of his quest, he soon finds the woman he loves wearing his bead into her braided hair.â
He fiddled with his hands before finally looking up at me, his eyes holding both a loving gaze but also a hint of fear and insecurity. Â I then watched as his eyes soon turned to look at my braid. Â I lifted it up and stared at the bead only for my heart to stop and my stomach sink.
WaitâŚ..could he meanâ
âYou donât have to say anything. I wonât force you plus you did not know that braiding a Dwarfâs family bead means you accept a courtship with me. I know weâve only known each other for a few weeks now but I cannot deny my feelings any longer. (Y/n), IâŚâŚâ I stopped his rambling by bestowing a small kiss to his cheek.
âMy heart feels the same way Kili.â His eyes widened with surprise looked at me and from his stubbled face I could see the faintest hint of a blush.
âReally?â
âReally, really.â I said with a warm smile. Â A bright smile soon started to show itself on his face as he took my hands into his and bestowed a sweet kiss to the back of my knuckles.
âMahalâs beard myâmy heart is pounding more harder than AulĂŤ slamming his axe upon a mountain of stone.â
âAnd the very breath within me feels like it has been sucked away.â I said to him.
âIs this what finding my One feels like? If it is, I never want it to go away. Nor do I wish to see you go.â
âI may not know the concept of your One, but if itâs anything to what we call soulmates then yes. I saw it every day with my aunt and uncle before his death. They held the purest form of true love I had only ever read in story books. But never did I hope to experience such a love.â
âBest get used to it amrâlimĂŞ, because I will spend every hour of my wakened days giving all my love to you.â I knelt down beside him and cupped the side of his face, brushing away the dark strands of his hair as I felt his hand gently cup my jawline as our forehead softly touched one anotherâs.
Our noses slowly grazing across the otherâs like wind in the grass until finally our lips became one and we gifted our devoted love for each other through each kiss and stolen baited breath.

Chapter 6: Bittersweet
a/n: Baking, backstory, jealous!Thorin if you squint
Previous Chapter
You took a deep breath as you began mixing together ingredients for your treats, still trying to decide what it was you were going to make. Thranduil was waiting, still giving you that intense gaze, and you honestly didnât know where to start.
âAfter the battle, I knew it wasnât going to be easy. There was an entire kingdom to rebuild, and it was not going to be a picnic. I wasnât expecting the hostile greeting I got when people started streaming in.â You paused, sprinkling some more flour in the dough that was beginning to for before continuing. âFor a people that did nothing to retake the mountain, they were very interested in taking advantage of Thorin once it was safe again.â
âSuch is the nature of dwarves,â the elf said wryly, tapping his finger in the counter as he watched your hands expertly knead the dough in the bowl. âBut I am far more interested in how this all deals with you.â
âIâm getting there. You just need to know the background so you understand a bit better.â Plopping the dough from your bowl onto the floured surface, you continue to pull and smash the mass into a smooth ball. âThey streamed into the kingdom en masse, and they made their opinions known loudly that a gold-digging harpy like me was not welcome in their city, regardless of what Iâd done to help Thorinâs company.â You gave a short, humorless laugh. âI didnât even take the share of the money that they tried to give me. Howâs that for irony? Anyway, I underestimated howâŚdesperate the dwarrowdam were to try and have one of their own marry Thorin.  Fili and Kili, too. The noble families had schemes upon schemes to try and hook them, and I was the idiot who had no idea.â
Another hard punch to the dough and you continued. âI didnât see Thorin much after the battle. Heâs a wonderful king, very dedicated to his people. Completely deaf to rumors, though, unless theyâre brought directly to him. A group of older dwarrowdams had weaseled their way into his inner workings, insisting they would be beneficial to the rebuild. As I understand it, theyâre the ones who started the rumors about me, whispering all kinds of lies in his ear.â
This punch was harder, and your knuckles stung as they hit the counter. âI tried to laugh it off at first because how could he even think that I would do anything that would harm Erebor? Silly rumors from people who had nothing better to do. Looking back now, though, maybe he did believe them from the beginning.â The dough was dangerously close to being over-kneaded, so you put it in a bowl with a cover on it and started on another batch. âIt wasnât until he officially announced our âcourtshipâ that it went from mildly annoying to vicious. I got this ring that was meant for the Queen. It was beautiful, but it was too big for me to wear, so I kept it locked in my room until we could find a master jeweler to resize it. I never touched it after Thorin gave it to me because it was so beautiful and I was afraid Iâd break it. Or lose it. Iâm not sure if you know, but Iâm terribly absentminded sometimes, and I knew Iâd set the thing down somewhere and then what would happen?â You blew a hair out of your face, using the back of your hand to push it away completely.
Thranduil raised an eyebrow, the corner of his lip tipping up. âYou would have been better leaving the hair there. The flour does nothing for your complexion.â
You rolled your eyes and wiped at your cheek. âIf flour is the only thing that I get on me while Iâm baking, itâs a good day. Anyway, Thorin assigned me a dwarrowdam to help me learn the dwarven customs, translate dwarvish, that kind of thing. Her name was Opal, and she was pleasant enough. Nicer than all the others at least, or so I thought. See, she was the eldest daughter of one of the higher-up noble families, and it was her goal to get into Thorinâs pants. Every time Thorin and I would be able to have dinner together or something, she would make up something to pull one of us away. For months I only saw him in passing, and while he was away from me, the other women would try and convince him of my villainy.â
The next batch of dough was ready to be beaten, and as the story went on, you felt it was very therapeutic to smash it. âMissives started popping up with my seal on it. Weird, suspicious missives that tried to reroute supplies, that insulted dwarven nobles, even some just bashing Thorin as a crappy king. I didnât send them, but he spent more and more time avoiding me. Iâm not sure what he thought, but I canât understand anything in dwarvish let alone write it, and every single one of the letters were written in it. The final straw, though, was the last letter.â
The dough was pulled, scraped, and then punched again. âBecause I didnât use the ring, I knew it was a possibility someone could have swiped it. It was always there when I checked, but I took my issues to Balin, hoping he could help. The others begun to turn on me, too, around this time, so I was half-afraid Balin would treat me like they had.â You cleared your throat, pushing the lump that had formed in your throat down. âBut Balin is very wise, and he knew something was wrong with the entire situation. Bilbo had come up from the Shire for a visit, so we looped him into a plan to try and see if anyone was taking the ring when I wasnât around. That Hobbit could be standing in the middle of a crowded room, and no one would see him if he didn't want them to. It's impressive.â
The second batch was complete, and you set it aside to rise to work on the fruity fillings. You were quiet for a few minutes, chopping up strawberries and various other beautiful fruits.
âBilbo caught Opal using the ring while I was gone. She was the one who made my schedule, and so she would wait until I was caught up in something, sneak into my room and put my seal on her letters. It didnât matter, though, because she had already sent out the piece de resistance. The final nail in my coffin as far as Thorin was concerned. I was on my way to see Balin when Thorin found me on one of the busier roads in Erebor.â
Tears stung your eyes, and you rubbed at your eyes angrily. âIâm sure youâve heard what happened there.â You sniffed, putting all the fruits in a bowl and drizzling honey over them. âThe letter was basically one long insult to Thorin, ending in my apparent criticisms of his prowess in the bedroom.â A humorless laugh escaped you. âThe funny thing is, we neverâŚâ you moved your hands around aimlessly, âyou know, had the kind of relations to know about someoneâs prowess in the bedroom.â
Thranduil blinked, but politely didnât say a word.
You continued. âSo he should have known something was off. By the time I got to Balin, I was so angry and hurt I couldnât think. Even though we had figured out the problem, I knew I had to leave.â What you didnât tell Thranduil was that the connection you had made with Thorin over the past year had shattered as soon as the words left his mouth. He hated you enough that he had decided to end whatever it was that was growing between the two of you, so you did the only thing you could. You cut off your courting braid, handed it to Balin, and left. âI left not long after that. Bilbo told me that it took Balin two weeks to get an audience with Thorin to show him the evidence about Opal. I donât know how that went, and I really donât care.â
You reached out to grab one of the resting dough balls, flattening it out with a roller. âIâve been waiting to hear about an engagement or something. Opal did work hard for her prize.â The sarcasm dripped heavily from your lips. You quickly cut small circles out of the flattened dough, shaping them into little cups and placing them on a pan. Walking over to the oven, you passed the doorway and paused, swearing you could hear something just outside the door.
Oh, great, thatâs just what you need. A servant running off to gossip about your non-existent love life. Placing the pan in the oven, you slowly made your way over to the doorway to yell at whoever was out there.
âWhat are you doing?â Thranduil asked.
You turned to look at him, narrowing your eyes. âI just.. wanted to look out into the hallwayâŚâ
âNo one is out there. Itâs just the trees creaking in the breeze. I understand you are used to subterfuge and hostile dwarves, but this is my palace. I know everything that goes on here, unlike the dwarf, apparently.â
Giving one more suspicious look to the doorway, you walked past it back to the counter to work on the second batch. âIf you say so.â
âI do. I know when someone is standing outside a doorway,â the elf drawled, as if amused by something you didnât understand.
Your eyes rolled up to the ceiling, silently cursing yourself for ever leaving the Shire. âSo thatâs about it. Iâd be surprised if he hadnât married one of them by now. Or two. I donât really know how kings and their wives work for dwarves.â
âIâm sure thereâs much more to it than that but thank you for sharing it with me.â He stood from his chair, walking over to your side of the counter and looking down at your work. âIs there a particular reason why you made so many?â With his hands clasped behind his back, he leaned down so his face was level with yours.
âIâm used to cooking for a large group, I guess,â you mumble. âPlus, Ori can eat about fifteen of them on his own if I donât watch him. Do you want to make one?â
You turn your head slightly to the side and tried not to giggle at the look of utter horror on his face. âMake this?â
âYes. Itâs not that hard. Donât give me that look, youâve stared down and army of dwarves and orcs. Iâm sure you have the manual dexterity to work with dough.â
He stood to his full height, looking down his nose at you in that infuriating way of his. âI donât have to eat the orcs and dwarves after I touch them.â
You blinked once, and the complete absurdity of that sentence made you laugh. You quickly clapped your hands over your mouth. âSorryâŚPoint taken.â You attempted to school your expression into a more serious one. âDid that at least help put the puzzle together a little bit?â
âMm,â he said thoughtfully. âIt does make more sense than the others Iâve heard.â He watched you as you finished everything up and cleaned up your mess while the treats were baking. âI have subjects who can do that for you.â
âOf course, you do,â you replied dryly. âBut not all of us are royalty. Us common folk must clean up our own messes. Besides, the counter needs to be clean now so I can put the pans on it.â
Thranduil walked over to the suspicious doorway and leaned against it facing outward, his gaze lingering on something just to his left. He caught Thorinâs gaze, and the two kings stared at each other for a moment before the elf turned and moved back inside as if nothing happened.
You moved around him, noticing the sky beginning to lose its rich, dark color. âItâll be morning soon,â you said softly, pulling the batches of little bowls out of the oven. Walking them over to Thranduil, you put them on the counter, reaching over to grab two spoons and the large bowl of sweet fruit. Handing one of the spoons to the elf, you used yours to dig a spoonful on mixture and drop it in the little crust. âYou can help this way, then. Itâll be faster if both of us work together.
He took the spoon as if it were a snake. âIâd be willing to wait for you to finish all of themâŚ.â
You glared at him. âI swear, if you tell me youâre however old and youâve never cooked a day in your life, I may have to throw something at you. Everyone needs to know how to cook. Kings included. But,â you continue, âif youâre too scaredâŚ.â
He narrowed his eyes at you as he reached around you to stick the spoon in the mix. While holding your gaze, he deftly dropped it into one of the cups without even looking. âI know how to cook things that are necessary for living, yes.â
You raise your eyebrows, giving him a bored look. âBut nothing that would bring you happiness? These things, instant happiness.â You bring the bowl to sit in the middle, and you and Thranduil work in complete quiet. Once you were done, you sprinkled just a touch of crunchy sugar on top, and they were ready for consumption.
You reached out to grab the one closest to you, turning to hand it to the king. âYou get the honor of the first one.â
He blinked, looking at the small cup of fruit sitting in his hand. With a sigh, he brought it up to his lips and took a small bite, his eyes widening as the flavors burst against his tongue.
âYeah, I know. Itâs amazing,â you preen, giggling. You look around for a basket or two to put the treats in. After you found some suitable ones, you brought them back to the counter. Something was offâŚ
There was an entire row missing.
You slowly looked up at the king who had half a treat crammed in his mouth and another in his hand waiting to be the next victim. He had no shame, and it was obvious he wasnât sorry.
You snort, setting a couple of more on a cloth and putting the rest in the baskets. âLooks like I have to double it next time.â Covering the baskets with a cloth, you grab them and look up at Thranduil expectantly. âAll done!â
He sets the other pastry on the cloth with the others you gave him and picked them up delicately. âThey are remarkably delicious,â he finally said as he led you out the door the two of you came in.
âThank you,â you replied happily, âI glad you liked them. Do you think we can swing by Oriâs room to drop a basket off?â
He glared at the basket as if it personally offended him. âI suppose if we must. That is many pastries for one dwarf.â
âYou may be right, but I was going to give the other basket to you, so maybe I should reconsider everything.â
He held his head up and sniffed. âI suppose it isnât too far out of the way.â
Thranduil led you to Ori, Nori, and Doriâs room, and you left the basket right on the doorhandle. You didnât want to wake them, but you knew it would brighten Oriâs day to get them. Nodding happily, you are escorted back to your room. Standing outside the door, you hand the basket to Thranduil. âThank you for taking the time to speak with me. And for staying while I baked the crazy away. And for the clothes.â Oh, gods, shut up. Stop rambling.
Thranduil took the basket, stony-faced as ever. âYou are quite welcome. Perhaps you can rest now, and later we can all discuss what the next steps are. I will not let them wake you for a few hours.â
âMaybe,â you said evasively. âOh! Wait!â You open the door quickly, running into the room to grab his robe. You brought it out with you, holding the heavy clothing out to him. âThank you for this, too.â
He nodded, reaching out to grab it when another voice cut through the air.
âThranduil!â Thorin shouted from the other end of the hallway. âI would speak with you now!â
Frowning, the elf looked down the long corridor at Thorin, then to you and then to the robe. âOn second thought,â he purred, carefully maneuvering the long fabric around your shoulders. âYou may keep it. It does get rather chilled in these halls for a human.â With that final quip, he turned from you and glided down the hallway to a fuming Dwarven King.
Sighing, you pull the warmth around your shoulders, using your hip to push the door open. Maybe you could get a few hours sleep. Maybe.

In His Touch- Fili x Reader
Prompt: Casually reaching out to play with someoneâs hair
The sting in your eyes from the abrasive smoke was nearly as permanent as the ache in your bones but you couldnât find yourself bothered with either as you sat on the dewy grass, a bowl of Bomburâs stew in hand. The fire before you was raging, casting violent shadows against everyoneâs otherwise gentle features. Thorinâs hard expression was made further sinister by the flickering of the light and your heart panged in sympathy for the leader you had come to respect so fiercely.Â
The dwarves and hobbit around you laughed, hollered, and hooted. Each of them speaking over each other and sending their voices bouncing off of the tall trees above you. Tonight the weather was mild and there was no danger present or near, so much so that Fili and Kili were not stopped even as they shouted and fought playfully. You sighed happily as you leaned against the felled tree stump at your back. It was nearly as wide around as the horizontal span of your arms and made for as good of a backrest as anything.Â
Your contentment could not only be attributed to your, nearly, carefree friends and the fine weather. Nor could it only be Bomburâs stew which was often enough to lift your spirits on even the worst of days, especially when the companyâs resources became low and rations had to be cut short. Tonight, your joy was brought upon by the beacon of light who was not quite two yards from you, sweat glistening on his brow as he grappled with his brother.Â
Filiâs smirk was sharp at the corner but his eyes were bright with mirth and you longed to see that joy directed at you, because of you. It was no secret to many in the company where your heart was being kept. Thankfully, the dwarf himself wasnât aware of how twisted around his finger you were. Youâd spent many of your nights on this perilous journey frightened that you wouldnât see the next morning and that Fili would never know of your dedication to him, yet when you found yourself with the words on the tip of your tongue the fear of losing him to rejection became more terrifying.Â
You could survive anything so long as you could keep Fili in your life, no matter in what capacity it would be.Â
Unaware that you had drifted off into a dreamy state, eyes glued to your loved one, you startled easily when Bombur sat beside you, bumping your shoulder with his.Â
âIf ye stare much longer, I fear your eyes wonât be able to see anything but him,â Bombur chuckled lowly, keeping his voice subdued so the others around you would not hear. You were grateful for it, even on the off chance any of them tuned into your now private conversation.
A warmth crept into your cheeks and it had nothing to do with the fire that was now quite a bit shorter than the last time youâd taken notice, the crackling of the wood now a pleasant instrument in the nightâs symphony.Â
âI hadnât even realized Iâd been looking,â You admitted truthfully. You were certainly the dedicated moth, but Fili could never be the flame. There was not a single bone in his body that could ever cause harm to someone he cared for and you were gratefully someone he called âfriendâ. To be more accurate, he was the sun and the moon. You were dependent on his warmth and his light and without him you were certain you couldnât go on.Â
âI think itâs time to tell him, lass,â Bombur spoke gently but firmly, velvet laid over steel. It was one of your favorite traits of your best friend. He was unmovable in many things but he was also tentative and caring. You were grateful that he hadnât pushed you more on this subject but you could tell he was growing wary of your pining.Â
âNow is not the time,â Your voice sounded weak in your ears, the argument flimsy in the face of Death, whom you met with nearly daily.Â
âLet us hope nothing keeps you from the future you wish for,â Bombur sighed, lips curled up in loving melancholy. You knew he didnât mean for the words to bite at your skin and pierce your heart but you also knew he was not wrong in voicing it.Â
You lived an uncertain life and ânowâ was the only certainty you had.Â
Fili and Kili had tired themselves out by the light of the moon, their playfighting dying down into insults wrapped in brotherly love and the repetitive bump of a shoulder and now the two had come to sit at the end of the very trunk you found yourself leaning against. Bombur had left you with your thoughts for the better part of an hour and now the very topic of your worries and hopes and feelings was seated a foot away and you were surprised to find his eyes already on you.
âGehyith, what is it that has you frowning so?â Fili asked, his mustache twitching at the ends as he smiled gleefully, âCould it be Kiliâs stench? I told him weâd all die from the severity of it if he does not find a lake soon,âÂ
You couldnât help the laugh the bubbled up from deep in your stomach, your head thrown back with the force of your amusement- especially once Kili let out a dignified and offended gasp, shoving his brother off of the stump before he took his leave with only an eye roll. Fili couldnât help his own chuckle, knowing Kili wasnât bothered by his comment.Â
Kiliâs absence brought you relief and a swirling anxiety all in the same breath. Alone time with Fili seemed a precious gift, yet you feared every second with him would lead you closer to your end. Now, you were certain tonight- this stunning, perfect, night- would be your last. For Fili had taken it upon himself to slide closer to you, even going so far as to slide off the stump and sit beside you, his thigh and shoulder warm against yours. Not sure what to do with your hands, you folded them lamely in your lap.Â
âHow was-âÂ
You were cut short, a pitiful whimper falling from your lips when Filiâs fingertips drifted delicately against your cheekbone, a strand of your hair pushed behind your ear. His skin was well-worn leather and your stomach was in knots.Â
âCome again?â Fili asked innocently, his brow quirked up towards his hairline. His fingers trailed down your neck, his nails making a shiver break out down your spine despite the balmy air.Â
âJ-just was wondering how you are fairing today,â You mumbled when his path continued to the ends of your hair, his fingers tangling easily there as he played with the loose and wild strands.Â
Those rosy lips of his were upturned, his eyes molten gold. âI think it has been one of the best days Iâve experienced yet,âÂ
Growing comfortable in his affection, you were able to contain yourself enough to jest. âYou are ancient, so that must be quite the feat,âÂ
Your loveâs boisterous laugh was your most favorite noise and you felt your smile grow painfully wider. âY/N, you are so cruel to me,â Fili teased, pulling the ends of your hair and then returning his hand to your scalp to lightly massage your aching head- another permanent sensation you had grown used to on this adventure. His strong and determined hands eased the dull throb for a short while and the relief was so wonderful you let yourself lean against his open hand.Â
It was not strange for you and Fili to be close, he was a dwarf who cared deeply for his friends and he was not above pulling each and every one of them close to share hugs, shed tears, and celebrate. You felt some pride, however, recognizing that you had never seen him play with anyoneâs hair but yours. It was a treat for you alone and even though it nearly rendered you speechless every time, you were glad for his continued practice of turning you to mush.Â
âYou know I love you,â You spoke honestly, but the words themselves were innocent enough to Filiâs ears as you had told him this sentiment time and time again without revealing to which depth you loved him.Â
âAye, I know it, gehyith,â He hummed, head leaned back and eyes closed. The low firelight flickered against his throat and you wondered what he would taste like if you placed your lips there.Â
âOne day I will get Bombur to tell me what insult you have chosen as my nickname,â You giggled, giddy off of his presence. It surely was no help to you when he brought his arm around your shoulder, only to keep his fingers twister in your hair- his hand now cradling your head.Â
âOne day I will tell you myself,â Fili said with suddenly certainty, his eyes capturing yours with an intensity that made you feel as if you had missed something.Â
âOne day,â You mimed back, your gaze only parting from his quickly enough to peak at the inviting curve of his mouth.Â
It was a promise to yourself, and him, that one day in the future you would tell him that your chest had been empty for months now, your heart having stole away to find a home in the palm of his hand.Â
For now, you could not jeopardize the slice of heaven you found yourself in.Â
Your future was not promised, yet in his touch, the present seemed to be a gift worth holding onto.Â

Dragon Sickness
Thorin x reader
Based off on 'Imagine Thorin becoming a dragon after getting gold sickness'
A/N: I really enjoyed writing this one, though I'd be able to make it a whole series with how many ideas I got, but here it is as a one shot. You guessed the character, @iwenttomordor !!
I'll probably translate this fic to Czech, if I will be in a mood for it.
Taglist: @guardianofrivendell @anjhope1
Breathe in, breathe out.
All Thorin could see, was darkness. He had no idea where he was, or what happened. The only thing he knew, was that if he was still able to do something, anything, it would mean he was still fully by his senses.
He felt deep growl coming out of the back of his throat. He opened his eyes, but then blinked. There was brightness everywhere, and he had to groan again. Did Fili and Kili forgot to blow the candles, played another stupid prank on him, and he passed out? Or did he fell asleep, while telling them a bedtime story?
Thorin opened his eyes again, when he seen endless piles of gold, and that it was not cadle light, but the shine of gold inside Erebor, and that Fili and Kili were not dwarflings anymore, but adults. They went on the quest with him and joined the Company, and...
Thorin blinked. Why was he alone?
"Fili, Kili!"
He expected to hear echo of his voice, but instead, he heard only deep growl and royar. He quickly looked around, up and down.
Was Smaug still there?
Thorin carefully looked around, but he couldn't see anything, that would remind of the dragon, who entered the Mountain over sixty years ago.
He decided to carefully look around, to see if his nephews and the rest of the Company was alright, without waking up the dragon, if he was still there.
Thorin made a step, when he noticed a reflection, in a huge mirror, in thick gold frame.
It was a dragon, with dark brown, almost deep black body and wings, long and pointy tail, and icy blue eyes. The light created shadows and pools of light, dancing across the texture of the dragon's body, making it seem rough and yet somehow highly gentle, even delicate, as the fire of candles flickered with the beast's every move.
Thorin looked away, and deep royar shook the walls of Erebor.
I need to find my nephews, he thought. Panic started settling in him, as he realized Kili was mortally wounded, and Fili stayed with him.
I belong with my brother.
He also remembered you. You did got wounded, too - you broke your arm, during the escape from Mirkwood. As a human, your body was much more fragile.
Thorin felt like he was losing his mind. He didn't cared for the gold, or the Mountain, anymore.
And with another wall-shaking royar, the dark coloured, blue-eyed dragon flew up, and left the inner part of Lonely Mountain.
Bilbo looked over at Balin.
"Where-where did that dragon came from? I'm sure there was only-only Smaug before," he said in high-pitched voice, he would be embarrassed about on any other occasion. Balin sighed and looked to the direction, of where did the dragon disappeared.
"I do not know, Bilbo. Now we need to find Thorin, and make a plan what to do. We didn't counted there would be two dragons, instead of one."
As Bilbo was trying to process what happened (the hobbit seen a lot of things on the journey, but this was really something he did not count on), Thorin looked over the Laketown. He noticed the people escaping the burning ruines of their houses. Smell of burned wood, skin, hair, mixed with smell of water and something he recognized as human, dwarf, and elves, got into his nose. He felt the soft breeze, and for a second, he thought dragons perhaps aren't that bad. It was calm up there.
Thorin looked over the town, and noticed a small boat. When he realized there was the rest of the members of the Company (and Bard's children), he let out a relieved breath. He felt like a rock fell off of his heart.
As he wanted to yell out "You are alive!", so they would hear him, a powerful royar escaped him.
You looked up, as Fili nudged you.
"What is it, Fi?"
"There is another...dragon," Fili said. You frowned.
"No way, Fili, that's-" you looked up as Kili pointed towards the sky. At the same moment, a powerful royar shook your whole body. You shivered.
"W-what the-" You whispered, and clutched your injured arm.
"It's flying down!" Bofur yelled out.
"We need to get away-" Someone yelled, but it was far too late.
The dragon flew down, and it seemed like it was observing you. It let out occasional growls, along with watching you by it's huge blue eyes.
He looks like Thorin, you thought. There was the panic, that others gave you, but deep down, you were not afraid.
The creature tilted it's huge head, and it was as if it's eyes saddened. You got up and walked to the front of the boat, so you'd be closer to it. Bofur turned to you.
"I don't think that's a wise idea, lass-" The dragon let out a huff, and you softly pushed Bofur behind you.
"What are you doing here? Where did you came from?" You carefully said. The dragon growled out something, but then turned to Lonely Mountain. You guessed it probably was the direction, where did it came from.
"Are you going to...hurt us?" You whispered. The dragon shook it's head, firmly.
"Alright, um...why are you here?" The dragon's eyes gave you a little stern, but mostly relieved and flustrated look, and then they shifted to Fili and Kili.
"Thorin would be worried about them too," you though aloud, before you could stop it. The dragon huffed, and let out a groan, but his eyes seemed to light up.
"Thorin?" The dragon nodded his head. You looked back, to see if it was truth. There was no way this would be happening.
Kili was pale, as well as Fili. Tilda and Sigrid were eyeing the dragon - Thorin, and the rest of the Company seemed like they were about to faint.
Well, not really. They seemed to be just paler than usual. A lot paler.
"Thorin, you are-you are a dragon...but how?" You stared at him. He looked around, until he pointed towards simple golden necklace he gave you as a courting gift.
"Gold...D-do you mean the...the sickness?" You looked up.
Thorin simply nodded.
When you got safely to Erebor, you noticed the rest of the Company rushing towards you.
"Thank Mahal, you are alive!" Someone said.
"Did you see the dragon?" You nodded.
"Well, yeah. He's not dangerous." You replied in firm voice.
"Lassie, every dragon is dangerous," Balin said, as Oin looked over your injury again.
"This one is not, because...well, the 'dragon sickness'," you quoted,
"The dragon sickness is not really about obsession over gold. It transforms that person into a dragon, who is obsessed with gold," you said, as you looked over your shoulder. You wasn't sure where exactly Thorin was, at the moment.
"I understand, but why would you say that, lassie? We still haven't found Thorin yet," Dwalin looked at you. Before you could answer, small epcheeew made an echo in the hall, and a piece of the wall was covered with frost. You giggled.
"How did you do that?" Thorin dig his eyes into you, as if saying 'Don't ask, please,', and jumped up on your shoulder.
"Well, he found us." You muttered. Everyone stared at the dragon-Thorin in silence for a while.
As the evening approached and most of the Company went to sleep, Thorin, in his regular size, you guessed, was carefully walking on the piles of gold, and you just sat there. You sat there, because you could not sleep, and so that Thorin would not be lonely.
You watched Thorin, as he was walking around the room, in the endless river of gold.
"You know, maybe it's better you still have clear mind, Thorin," you said. Thorin turned to you and set his gaze on you, as if asked you to continue. And so, you did.
"I won't lie, I do not know how to break this...spell, or whatever it is," you said, and Thorin looked away, huffing.
"But at least you are alive, and have clear mind," He looked back at you, and his eyes seemed to soften a little. You got up.
"Well, look, if you'd like to...I got an idea," you offered. Thorin curiously looked at you.
"We could go out, neither of us can sleep anyways," Y/N said, and Thorin looked around.
"Well, you can change into the...more petite form," you said. Thorin huffed out.
I'm not a bird or a cat.
Y/N blinked. Did she just heard Thorin's voice in her head?
It was probably nothing.
"Let's get outside."
As they seated outside, on the top of the Mountain, her eyes were set on the starry sky.
Thorin's eyes slid over the starry sky, then down at Y/N. The breeze brushed her hair in a gentle, delicate motion.
He was glad he has Y/N as his One.
He suddenly felt the urge to fly, which he tried to deny, but then he flew up, and took Y/N with him.
You couldn't even scream at first, but then you felt as if you were falling down - when all of sudden, you fell on something firm, but warm.
You opened your eyes, slowly at first, but then you realized what happened.
Slowly, you looked over the edge of Thorin's dragon body, and your eyes widened.
You flew high, and though you couldn't see a lot, due to the darkness, you recognized some lights. But the real beauty started, when you looked up.
The stars seemed to be close, as if you would just reach up your arm, you would be able to touch them.
The clouds felt soft, but cold and wet. You closed your eyes, and let that feeling to go through your whole body, as Thorin flew through one of the clouds.
When you opened your eyes, you realized the clouds moved away, and so the moon was illuminating the landscape underneath you. You looked down, and watched the scenery in awe.
You had no idea how much time has passed, but honestly, you didn't cared. You felt safe with Thorin, even if he was locked up in the body of dragon.
When the sun started raising, Thorin flew down to the top of the Mountain again. You could barely keep your eyes open.
That was amazing, you thought. You felt like you heard Thorin's soft chuckle in your head.
Indeed, Amrâlime.
Y/N didn't had much time to think about it, before she fell asleep with the sounds of birds' song, lullying her and sending her to the land of dreams.
When she woken up, she realized one thing: warmth. Y/N looked around, and realized that the warmth was coming from Thorin's body, who was protectively lying around her, inside of some room. He seemed to be soundly asleep.
As she moved, a huff escaped Thorin, and Y/N quickly looked back, to see what happened.
You woke me, she heard in her head.
Sorry, I just need to go to-
Before you could finish your thought, he let you go. You felt the shivers running down your body. Well, it's a mountain. It's not like it would be exactly warm here.
When you came back, you sat down, across Thorin, and he set his eyes on you. You started thinking about what was happening.
You can hear me, you thought, and he nodded.
So I, he replied.
But neither of us could do that before, right? You furrowed your brows, and Thorin shook his head.
Is this is permanent? You thought quicker than you could stop it. Thorin's gaze coldened and hardened, and you could feel the confusion, disgust, hurt and sadness.
I'm sorry Thorin, I-
Keep your words.
No, Thorin, listen to me, I'm sorry, it's just- You quickly jumped up, but he was on his way out.
Who from dwarves would want their king to be a dragon? He snapped. At this point, you runned behind him, trying to stop him from flying away.
"THORIN NO, COME BACK-" you yelled out, but it was far too late. Thorin was quickly disappearing on the horizone, and you cried out.
The dragons in Middle-Earth never had a good reputation. You knew someone would try to hurt him, or kill him, eventually.
You sank down on your knees, and started sobbing.
You felt his pain as your own, and he felt yours.
Who from the dwarves would want their king to be a dragon? Thorin thought, as he flew up on the sky. He knew he was right. He felt shame. He was a Durin. But now, he was a dragon, one of the creatures he hated.
You are not the dragon, Thorin. You are good. You are still Thorin we all know.
He let out a royar. He was in this body of a dragon, and he hated every second of it, and he hated himself.
You looked over the tent, and sipped on your tea. It felt wrong and weird, but you didn't exactly complained either.
Thranduil and Bard discussed something, and you wished Thorin would be there with you.
They aren't that bad, Thorin. Nothing.
You told me that Erebor is going to be pulsing with life, again. I know you hate the body you are locked in right now, but we will find a way to turn you into dwarf form again, Thorin. Please, return here.
No answer. Just silence.
You sighed. You felt Thorin was alive - you just knew, so you were not so worried, but still. Bilbo placed his hand on your shoulder.
"He will come back, I'm sure of it. You know Thorin," he muttered, and you nodded. Thorin was really stubborn, even for a dwarf, and once he thought of something, there was almost no chance in convincing him otherwise.
The rest of Company woke up as they heard your screaming. They found you, and took inside of the Mountain, to give you blankets and tea. Then Bilbo came, that Gandalf was there, to warn you about another dragon. You talked for a while, and eventually, you told him what happened to Thorin, and you needed a medication, but he flew away, and since then, he didn't came back.
Bard and Thranduil weren't really fond of Thorin, but because it was you, who was Thorin's One (and Thorin was the rightful king of Erebor, though Thranduil, especially, didn't liked that idea much), they decided to help to you find a way to heal Thorin's sickness.
"I think Smaug got mad, and the sickness consumed him entirely. Thorin actually had clear mind, it's just...his body changed," you muttered. Even Radagast was there.
"Well, maybe...maybe it's not really a sickness," someone piped up. You looked around.
Who said that? You thought.
"Maybe-maybe it's just a spell!" Radagast said and looked excitely around.
"You have a bond between you two," Radagast told you, and you nodded.
"Are you suggesting, that the spell could be broken by...something?" Bilbo looked around for someone to help him finish up his question.
"Well, Thorin is not answering me, but he is alive, somewhere. I think he maybe...he thinks the dwarves wouldn't accept their king, even if he is in the body of a dragon," you said.
"Orcs! Orcs are everywhere!" Elvish soldier runned inside the tent.
"How many?" Thranduil's gaze hardened.
"A lot of them, I've never seen more in my whole life," The soldier answered.
"Azog," you whispered. You realized what that could mean - Azog came here for Thorin.
"We all need to fight together, there is no point nor time for arguing," Gandalf said, and you got up.
"No, you will stay here, lassie. If he finds out Thorin is not there, you will be right next," Bard said. You frowned.
"I won't run from a fight." You gazed at him, but he was out already, along with most of others, to prepare for the battle.
I won't risk anyone I love to be killed, you thought, and went to find some armour.
Thorin felt all those emotions going on - worry, fear, anger, loyalty, and more worry. Something in him was pushing him, to come back, to go back to you. He felt the danger, and that convinced him, without any other thoughts, he needs to protect you, and his kin.
Durin's folk does not flee from fight.
When he heard the sounds of a battle, he tried to find you. He couldn't hear your thoughts anymore - nor fell the feelings you felt. Only soft waves of emotions.
Is this the end of you, or him, when he could not hear your thoughts anymore?
He hoped not.
It didn't took long, when something inside him made him to look into one place. He noticed Azog, and someone he realized was you, though he had no idea how did he knew that.
He flew lower, and lower, until the only thing he heard was the blood in his ears, the royar he let out, and the royar of his biggest enemy.
Thorin fell to the ground on all fours. It felt as if the battle stopped. As if the time stopped, whe whole world paused. He looked up at you, kneeling down and covering your head.
You looked up, as you heard the royar. Thorin! You thought. You felt relief he was okay, and alive.
"Don't shoot!" You heard Thranduil to yell out to his soldiers when they spot Thorin, and you felt thankful to the Elven King.
Azog thought you were Thorin, until the helmet fell down, and disgusting smirk made it's way over his face. You losed strength, you were tired, and wounded - he managed to make you some cuts, over your shoulders and cheek, and you guessed one your arm was not fully okay. He prepared to kill you, but the royar was coming closer, along with the huge shadow. You covered your head and ears and fell on your knees, to protect your body.
The royar Azog let out shook you, but when you heard the silence after, you felt relieved.
The huff close to you made you feel lot safer. You looked up, and you knew your face light up.
"Thorin," you whispered and cried out. You stood up and hugged him.
"Don't go away like this, ever," you whispered, as tears rolled down your cheeks. Then, you felt some movement, but the warmth was still the same, and you thought Thorin was just moving around.
"I won't ever leave your side again, I promise, my One," His smooth voice made way to your ear, and then, you felt his lips pressed against yours. You ran your hands across his back, and felt the tunic he had on, just as he changed into the dragon form.
He rested one of his palms on your cheek, and when you parted, he rested his forehead against yours, while gazing deeply into your eyes by his deep blue orbs.
"Thank you for coming back," you whispered.
"I would never let anyone hurt you," he muttered, and pulled you back for another kiss, as the soft snowflakes danced in your hair, with the breeze.

Thranduil x fem!human!reader
Requested: @the-colonialtemplars
Summary: âI would like the human was part of the company of Bilbo and the Dwarves and that when Thranduil first her he begins to take a strange interest in herâ
Authors Note: I am so sorry for taking forever with this đ Life was kinda hectic so I didnât get the chance to write for a hot minute. I hope you enjoy it!
__________________________________________
When you had been asked to join the company of Thorin Oakenshield, you didnât have getting lost in Mirkwood and captured by the Elvenkings guards in mind. You were a human, and a very talented swords-woman at that. Your skills were known to many, including Gandalf, who had been the one to propose you join the quest to reclaim Erebor. Now, you were being escorted through the halls of the Elvenking.
The kingdom had been carved from wood and stone. It was so different and yet more beautiful than anything you had ever seen. As you were escorted by guards, all you could do was look in awe at the extraordinary view.
The guards stopped you in front of the throne. You brought your eyes to the figure of the Elvenking when the captain addressed him.
âWhat shall we do with them, My King?â His icy blue eyes slowly passed over the company and lingered on you. You gulped. You had thought the kingdom was beautiful, but now all of your attention was directed towards the king. He looked ethereal seated upon his throne; as if he had been carved from the finest and purest of stone.
âTake them to the dungeons. Leave Oakenshield with me,â he commanded. As he spoke, you made eye contact with each other. You could feel the goosebumps raising across your skin. All you could think of while you were being shoved into your cell were his eyes. The king-Thranduil they called him-had a cold and harsh demeanor, yet looked somewhat...lonely? You couldnât place it exactly. You shook your head. The last thing you needed was to feel sympathy for the person holding you prisoner.
___
When Thorin returned from his audience with the king, everyone jumped to their feet and began asking what had happened. Before you could hear his response, a guard opened your cell and grabbed your arm.
âYour turn,â was all they said. As you were led back to the throne room, the dwarves shouts of outrage at your being taken away echoed through the long hall.
Standing before the king, you had never felt smaller. It felt as though he could see right through you.
âMay I ask why you wanted to see me?â You inquired first. Thranduils expression shifted to one of amusement. A human, in his own court, addressing him without first being acknowledged and without using his title? This should be interesting.
âMy audience with Thorin Oakenshield did not go quite as planned.â He began descending from his throne. âI was hoping to have a discussion with someone that would perhaps be more reasonable.â Thranduil was now slowly circling you.
âI am not the leader of this quest. Decisions are not mine to make.â You responded. The king obviously knew of the stubbornness of dwarves. If he thought you could convince Thorin, that would be near impossible.
âAll I ask is for you to consider my offer,â Thranduil whispered into your ear. He was behind you now and you hadnât realized how close he was to you. You felt the hairs rise on the back of your neck. Something about the Elvenking put you completely on edge.
âAlright. I shall consider it,â you replied. âBut, I make no promise to fulfill or agree to anything.â Thranduil smirked at your response. Interesting indeed...
âI understand that if you do succeed in reclaiming Erebor each of you will be given a share of the treasure.â He continued walking until he was in front of you. âThere is something very precious to me among the gold of the mountain.â
âOh?â
âJewels, made of pure starlight. If you should find them, I hope you could return them to me.â
âReturn?â You asked. You knew of the bad blood between the elves and dwarves, but Thranduilâs choice of words piqued your curiosity.
âYes,â he paused. âThey belonged to my late wife, and Thorin Oakenshield has refused to give them to me.â Oh. Suddenly, you understood the lonely Elvenking. Your knowledge of elves was limited, but you knew when they fell in love, they fell hard. It was rare for them to ever marry more than once. In fact, it was rumored that they could only fall in love once.
âI see,â You said. You felt sorrow for Thranduil. The dwarves were stubborn, but they could at least give him what belonged to his former queen. âIf the opportunity should arrive, Iâll see what I can do.â
Thranduil nodded to his guards signaling that you were done. They took you away, this time more gently than before. Once you were gone, he returned to his throne and thought. You seemed different from most humans he had met. You werenât troubled with impressing him or seeming like you were something you were not. You ignited something he had not felt in a long time. That couldnât be though, could it? Only time would tell. After all. He was patient. He could wait.
___
The Battle of the Five Armies was over. You sat upon the broken ramparts, and mulled over recent events. Thorin and his dragon sickness. Sneaking out of the mountain with Bilbo to give the Arkenstone to Thranduil. After everything the company had been through, Thorin, Fili, and Kili were dead. Thorinâs cousin, Dain, would now be King under the Mountain. Your thoughts were interrupted by someone sitting down beside you.
âAnd what about you? Where will you go now that the quest is over?â Thranduil. The battle weighed heavily on him as well. He had lost many of his people and now his son, Prince Legolas, was leaving.
âIâll do what I always do,â you replied. âJourney from one town to the next. Find a new job or adventure to partake in.â You turned to the king. âI apologize for not finding your jewels. I know they-they meant a lot to you.â
âNo,â he said. âIâve come to realize that there are far more important things to treasure.â
âOh? Care to enlighten me?â
âLove,â he said quietly. âNot becoming so caught up in a memory that you neglect those that are still here.â You sat in silence for a few moments.
âIâm sorry about your wife,â you said. âI know she must have meant a great deal to you.â
Thranduil gave a sad smile. âYes.â He looked into your eyes. Light blue staring into (e/c). âThough I think my time of mourning is over.â He stood up. âTell me, how would you feel if I offered you a place at Mirkwood?â This was a surprise, and a pleasant one at that. Being offered a place among the elves was an honor.
âI-well-of course I would accept.â You finally managed to say. It wasnât as though you had anywhere else to go. The dwarves offered you stay at Erebor, but some were still angered over your and Bilbos âbetrayalâ. You would much rather let that tension cool before staying with them.
Thranduil was pleased with your response. He slowly extended a hand to you. âCome then. We shall depart in the next hour or so.â You placed your hand in his and he pulled you up. You stumbled slightly into him. You again made eye contact. There you stood, his hand in yours, too close for what was considered appropriate. Becoming flustered at your proximity to him.
âForgive me. I must go pack my things,â you said before leaving. Thranduil watched as you hurried away. Interesting indeed...

The Light Within -Â (CARE FOR SERIES)
Pair: Thorin Oakenshield x Healer!Reader (a pretty short one too lol)
Genre: Another majorly angsty LONGGGGGGGG chapter (I am so sorry) with little smidges of fluff again if you squint but barelyyyy any (Iâm sorry! I promise it gets better!)
Warning: Very angstyy gore, violence, mentions of rape (no rape), death of character
A/N: With Y/N now far from Thorin, will he be able to regain his senses and stop the orcs from their takeover of his Kingdom? Will these lovers be divided by death? Or will something else prevent them from having their chance? Â
PREVIOUS (Through The Darkness)
I winced as Gandalf pressed a cold cloth to my neck, the skin now swollen, bruised from Thorinâs violent tossing. The very thought of the dwarf caused tears to rise, a small sob caught in my throat.
Since Gandalf had shepherded me and Bilbo away from the ramparts, Thorin had called on his kin from the Iron Hills, his cousin DĂĄin, Gandalf had told me specifically. The King turning his back on the battlefield had been the last I had seen of him before being ushered into Thranduilâs tent that had been left unattended.Â
I looked up at Gandalf, my tears running freely down my cheeks.
âOh my dear.â He said, wiping them away with the curve of his thumb gently. âI am so sorry. Your commitment to breaking Thorin out of his stupor, but that sickness runs deep in his family. That dark magic that was set on his grandfather now clutches his heart. And I believe the only one who will be able to break him free now is himself.â
I pushed away the hair that had fallen in front of my face, now covered in muck and dirt from our escape from the battle briefly.Â
âThat dwarf ... that isnât Thorin Oakenshield, thatâs someone Iâve never seen before. And I know I shouldnât worry now, and yet it still hurts so much.âÂ
Gandalfâs deep chuckle made me look up, a small smile on his face.Â
âThat is because you love him, my dear.âÂ
I looked up at him in shock, words faltering as his fingertips grazed the braid that was now revealed my shoulder, the silver bead holding it together glinting in the light of the lantern sitting overhead. I couldnât help the shaky sigh that left my lips.Â
âThat I-I do. I do love him Gandalf! I canât deny it anymore ...âÂ
Gandalf smiled, taking my hands into his. âI knew you would find your way to one another. I knew it from the moment you both bickered when you first met. I knew it when you shared that precious moment within the walls of Beornâs walls.âÂ
I couldnât stop the chuckle that fell from my lips, even as the tears glided down my cheeks. âI never thought you to be an eavesdropper Gandalf!â
He scoffed.Â
âI am no such thing my dear! When one wants secrecy, they must do it where no one shall overhear!âÂ
The smile faded as soon as it appeared, shaking my head, âGandalf I canât give up on him. I canât leave him behind.âÂ
Gandalf sighed, eyes momentarily flicking to the entrance of the tent where Bilbo stood on watch, screams and shouts of war rising and growing louder by the second. He placed a hand on my cheek gently.Â
âThen donât my dear, stay and hope that that dwarf comes to his senses. And if doesnât we will find some way to bring him back.â I nodded with a small smile, squeezing his hand as he got to his feet with a groan. âBut first we must fight to live another day. Are you ready?â
Glancing down towards my sword, I gripped it, also getting to my feet.Â
âMore than ever.âÂ
A cry left my lips as I thrust my sword into the neck of an orc that had fallen to his knees before me, screeching wildly as I withdrew, blood spraying across ground as it collapsed.Â
Gasping for air, I wiped away the ichor against my pants that stained my hand, leaning against the bridge as I looked over the bloodied field where the chaos raged on between all creatures, armour shining brightly against the harsh sunlight. Â
The Orcs had descended upon the battle of the elves, humans and the dwarves, taking us all by surprise, their numbers far greater and far more powerful than all three parties combined.Â
The kingdoms would be ripped apart if they werenât stopped, and the company that hid within the mountain of Erebor would all but be overthrown.Â
I turned as Bilbo stood beside me, covered in blood and muck, both of us standing in silence as we watched on. He took my hand in his, voice merely a whisper. âY/N, do you think we will live to see another day?â
I looked to him at this, my eyes wide and glistening before turning away. The very thought of a new day rising after one such as this seemed unlikely, and it frightened me to even hold onto such hopes. Not when all I wanted hid within the mountain, the obsession of gold to strong for him-
Suddenly a deep rumble echoed across the plains, making me turn back towards the battlefield. There, standing upon the great dwarf statue of Erebor, was Bomber, blowing into a large horn.
The makeshift rampart was ripped apart, a magnificent golden bell ringing through the silence that had fallen upon the battlefield, all eyes watching.Â
Before a familiar Khuzdul battle cry came forth.Â
I couldnât stop the loud gasp that had left my lips as Thorin emerged into the sunlight. Cloak and crown gone, instead a sword in hand, running onwards into the fight with the company at his side.Â
I smiled through the blur of tears as the dwarves began to fight against the orcs alongside the elves and Dainâs army. I looked towards Gandalf with, after so long, a large smile, tears streaming down my face.Â
âTheyâre fighting back-Gandalf, their fighting back.â
He looked over us towards the mountain, his face instantly turning from a scowl to a small smile full of hope, almost like a child, âTheyâre rallying their king! There may be hope for us yet.âÂ
However, that small bit of hope was stamped out when a raven flew over head, landing before me only moments later. I unclasped the note from around itâs foot, hurriedly unrolling it.Â
âGandalf.âÂ
He turned at my firm tone, making his way towards me along with Bilbo.Â
âLegolas sends word that Azog has another army attacking!âÂ
âFrom where? Where my dear?â
A chill ran down my spine as I read the messy elven handwriting, looking up towards the wizard. âFrom the North, right towards Ravenhill.âÂ
Gandalf huffed, eyes wide in horror before looking towards the hilltop where the dwarves had headed for. âWe must warn Fili, Kili and the others. If we donât theyâll be in great danger once they enter the depths of Ravenhill. Bilbo, you know what to do.â
Bilbo nodded and set off immediately, disappearing into the crowd. But as I went to follow, Gandalf grabbed my shoulder, shaking his head.Â
âNot you my dear! Youâll take another route, and more importantly to Thorin. If itâs anyone he needs at his side right now, itâs youâ
I nod at this before following him, fighting alongside him through the oncoming hoards of orcs before he led me to a group of eagles cawed as they fought of those who dared to attack, throwing them over the ramparts.Â
Gandalf, leading me over to the largest of the group, gave me a boost up onto the great creature. âKeep your head down and your heart full of courage. Get to Thorin and warn him of the oncoming dangers that are coming but be careful. I donât want to lose my one good apprentice.â
I stared down at the wizard with a smile, shaking my head.Â
âOh Gandalf, didnât you know that getting into trouble is what Iâm famous for?â
With one last smile towards me along with a nod, Gandalf raised his staff towards the eagle that let out a shriek before lifting off in flight, the rushing of wind welcoming me into its arms as I clung to the eagleâs beautiful feathers.
As we rose above the clouds, I could only pray that we would make it to the hill, and hope we were not too late.Â
The ride to Ravenhill was a lot more dangerous than I had anticipated, on our descent the frost becoming like sharp glass against my skin, the eagles shrieking as they forced themselves through the storm.Â
Through the fray of white, I sighted the peaks of the blackened ruins of Ravenhill, a ripped flag flailing in the winds violently, the howl of the wind echoing across the hilltop.Â
I gripped my sword tightly, tightening my group as the eagle flew down towards the towers, giving me time to slip down before it took off to join its pack, continuing to circle above.Â
Without a moments hesitation, I ran across the the length of the tower, careful of the mounds of snow that covered the path before reaching the crumbled window only to gasp in horror. Looking out over the frozen lake, I instantly recognised the dwarf that staggered across the ice, a towering one armed Orc trailing after him with a chained brick weapon, swinging it towards him.Â
Thorin, now holding the beautifully elven crafted sword Orchrist, shining in the light of the rising sun, standing his ground against the pale Orc who roared.Â
I ran down the first set of stairs I came across, down torn corridors and passages, before I slid across the frozen lake towards the duel. With Azogâs back turned to me, I easily found an open, slipping my sword across his side, slicing through the pale skin.Â
I scurried backwards as the ugly beast reared its head towards me, along with his brick and chain, just catching the ice where I had just moments before stood upon.Â
âY/N?!â I glanced towards Thorin, and couldnât stop the brief smile that broke across my face only to shriek as a brick came hauling at me, barely missing me this time. âFoolish girl! Leave now!âÂ
âIâm not leaving you! Not again!â I screamed, dodging Azogâs sworded up, once again slashing him across the same wounded side, making him shriek, his black blood spilling out across the ice.Â
I ran to Thorin, the dwarf catching me in his arms as I slipped. I gripped him tightly, regaining my breath as I looked up at him.Â
âW-We have to leave! Ano-Another army is set to attack from the North!âÂ
His eyes widened in horror. âWhat?!âÂ
âPlease, we must leave now before itâs too late-â
I gasped at the abrupt shrill high call of the Orc horn I had knew far too well, both of us turning to see the sight of a dark shadowed mass marching over the hill. Shaking my head, Thorin grasped my hand tightly as Azog dragged himself to his feet, growling.Â
But through all the pain he felt, the monster still smirked, swinging the chained brick high above his head before slinging it towards us, both parting instantly to avoid it.Â
We circled him, almost working as one as the Orc looked between us, snarling, thrashing his weapon around, all to be in vain, only to become lodged into the thick layer of ice.Â
It was only when Azogâs gaze became altered over our shoulders I couldnât help but take a glance, only to shriek as a group of much larger, magnificent and proud as they flew straight towards the oncoming army. And I couldnât help but chuckle at the small figure of Radogast that sat comfortable upon one of the eagle.Â
However, it was a moment that had distracted me for far too long, a unexpected sharp pain ran up my side, a scream leaving my lips as Azog swung his sworded arm across me, sending me to my knees. I bit down on my lip hard, trying to crawl away as the towering behemoth laughed aloud.Â
But as he raised the sworded appendage above my head, he was stopped by Thorin as it came down, who thrust his whole body weight against Orchrist, sending Azog backwards.Â
Dropping his sword and with all his might, Thorin threw the bricked chain back towards the Defiler, the creature tipping backwards and disappearing fast beneath the water.Â
It was once the silence fell over us I let out a loud sigh, tears of earnest falling. I whimpered as arms wrapped around me carefully, bringing me to my feet. I smiled up at Thorin, even as he scowled, shaking his head.Â
âYou foolish woman! Yo-You came back! After everything that happened-After everything I did you came back!âÂ
I laughed softly, pressing a hand to his cheek, heart soaring as he leant into my cheek, nuzzling against my palm. âThat wasnât you. I knew you would come back to me, I just had to be there when you needed me.â
Tears glazed his eyes as the first real smile I had seen in months, drawing me close to press a kiss against my forehead. I leant my head against his chest, a tired but joyous smile upon my lips.Â
It was over, the war was over.Â
I peaked my eyes open, only to gasp in horror at the sight of Azog beneath our feet, that same dangerous smile painted across his features.Â
A scream wrenched itself from Thorin, his grip painfully tight on my waist. Looking down in horror to see the familiar blade that belonged to Azogâs arm. Only to be thrown from the warm embrace as the shriek and crackle of ice, landing on the hard frozen lake.Â
I looked up in time as Azog leapt up out of the ice, sending Thorin to the ground, barely pulling out his sword to stop the jagged metal from piercing his chest, arms shaking uncontrollably, barely able to hold his own against the towering Orc.Â
I shakily got to my feet, gripping my sword before running at him, screaming as I drove my sword deep into Azogâs chest, a guttural, bloodied gasp leaving his lips before I pulled him off of Thorin. With him staring up at me, I swung my sword down, once more pushing deep into the already gaping wound in his chest.Â
And as the light faltered in his eyes, I spat. âBurn in hell, filth.âÂ
Without sparing a moment, I dropped to Thorinâs side, my hands clasping his face.Â
âThorin can you hear me? Are you okay?âÂ
âY-Y/N ...âÂ
I smiled as he gripped my hand, only for it to fade at the scarlet that covered his hand. Looking down I noticed the wound in his chest, the tunic he wore beneath his coat soaked in blood.Â
âOh lord Mahal-â I whistled as loud as I could, looking up into the skies where the eagles continued to circle, their dark shadows passing amongst the cloud. Suddenly, I coughed violently, leaning away from Thorin, wiping at my mouth, only to find blood.Â
âNo no no-âÂ
Again I whistled, body shaking as I looked around. A hand pressed against my cheek, gasping as Thorin looked up at me, a gentle smile on his lips.Â
âIt-itâs alright my dear one, itâs alright-â
I shook my head, pressing a firm kiss to his hand. âNo no no Thorin. You are going to live! You will not die this day, youâve just gotta stay awake for me, alright?âÂ
âI feel so sleepy ...â
I held back a sob, squeezing his hand. âI know, Thorin, I know but you have to keep your eyes open! Help is coming! Y-You made me promise you that we would try-that we would try a hand at us! Youâve gotta stay awake-â
However as the words left my lips, his eyelids slid closed, the grip faltering on my cheek as tiredness over took his entire body.Â
âThorin donât you dare close your eyes!â I cried, gripping his cheek while the other hand pressed down on his wound, trying to stem the blood that flowed over my fingertips. I looked around once again, screaming into the smoke that rose over the frozen peaks of the waterfall.Â
âSOMEBODY HELP US! PLEASE SOMEBODY?!âÂ
I screamed, and screamed, and screamed.Â
Even when my voice became hoarse, I still screamed at the top of my lungs.Â
Even as blood spilt down my clothes, I still cried out weakly.Â
And even as the shadows crept across my vision as I lay beside my unconcious lover, and the blurred outline of a figure came into view, I whimpered.
âH-Help us ...âÂ
I groaned as I opened my eyes, blinded by the piercing light that entered through the overhead windows. Slowly I sat up, gasping in pain that filled my side, and then I remembered.Â
The war, Azog. And Thorin.Â
I rushed to get out of bed, shakily getting to my feet only to fall foward towards the stone floor. However I didnât make impact, held up by Kili.Â
âWhat are you doing Y/N?! Iâve known you for being an early riser but you must stay in bed! Oin has commanded it!âÂ
I gripped his arm as he helped me sit back on the soft mattress, sighing at the pounding in my head. Once blurring in my vision had faded, I really took in the scene around me to realise we were within the halls of Erebor.Â
Dwarves and dwarrodams with medical pouches walked through the aisles, standing beside other injured soldiers, a calmness settled over the entire room that we hadnât felt for months. I looked back up towards him with a small smile.Â
âItâs over isnât it?â
He was hugging me before I could even register it, a small hiccup of pain leaving me before I wrapped my arms around him, holding him close. I ran a hand through his hair, chuckling-or a sobbing-I couldnât even tell.
âOh thank Mahal youâre alright!âÂ
âThe others are too.â I couldnât help but relax against him at his words, pulling away to look at him up and down, inspecting him carefully.Â
âAnd you are not hurt?âÂ
âA few bruises and cuts, every soldier must to be able to tell the tales of war!âÂ
I smiled, but once again thought back to the dwarf I had gone on that desperate mission to save. I gripped Kiliâs hand painfully. âAnd Thorin? Is he-â
âAlive and healing thanks to you.âÂ
I sighed, this time an even greater weight lifting from me. Tears of relief rose in my eyes, looking up at the young dwarf who smiled down at me.Â
âMay I-â
âOf course you can. Just donât tell Oin Iâm going against his orders taking away from your time of resting!âÂ
Once dressed in my clothes, which I found had been washed and dried, felt clean against my skin, Kili led me to Thorinâs chambers. More like carried me, taking on most of my body weight to avoid leaning on my right side. I couldnât help but smile at other dwarves and dwarrodams we passed, earning many in return.Â
We all had fought for this victory, and free of the Orcâs reign of darkness. Now we could finally smile without the fear of dying on the morrow.Â
We reached an ornate corridor, adorned with gold and jewels across the walls from roof to the marble floors, and at the very end I could see two guards guarding a large oak door, much different to the room Thorin had taken when ill under the dragon sickness.Â
There were two other dwarves standing before the entrance, chatting amongst themselves, turning to us as we arrived. With the door slightly ajar, I squinted, looking past the shoulders of the dwarves to see a Thorin, cleaned, bandaged, and peacefully resting,Â
âWe are here to visit the King-â
The door was shut with a slam, Kili cut off by the one who looked the oldest, his pointed nose raised to us and voice firm. âNo one is to enter these chambers besides the Kingâs healer or advisors!âÂ
The Prince scoffed. âDo you know who youâre talking to? I am King Thorinâs nephew, I am his kin and I order you to allow us in to see the King!âÂ
âI know who you are laddie, and I certainly know who this woman is.âÂ
Why did it seem that everyone knew me before I knew them?
I looked toward the dwarf with a raised eyebrow. âAnd who do you think I am?âÂ
He smirked. âWord of you reached Ered Luin long before the company of Thorin Oakenshield even reached the cusp of our homeland. Mustâve been a good offer you made our King to join such a company-â
âI offered my skills-â
âAnd much more I think.âÂ
I stared down the second dwarf, cringing inwardly at the ugly smile he sent my way as he looked me up and down, a stare I wasnât unfamiliar with. Â
I pushed off of Kili, now nose to nose with him. âWatch your tongue-â
âAnd you will watch yours missy. You are nothing than a common woman with no title, no family, and nothing to give to this King, or this kingdom. And if word gets out that the King has fallen for a human? Oof, you better run further than the hills. You wouldnât last a day-âÂ
âIs that a threat?â
âNo, itâs merely a warning! Because you will be ruined either way, whether you are dead, or defiled beyond reprieve.â
My gut churned at his words, an anger I hadnât felt in a very long time burning inside me, the memories of my time as a prisoner at the hands of the orcs sweeping through my mind. Everything they had done to me, the way they tied me down, ripped my clothes off, and did nothing but violate me.
Kili, who hadnât noticed my state, stepped forward in a rage. âHow dare you speak of her in such a way! You are nothing but cowards! She saved the Kingâs life-â
âThen that is her job done innit? Hurry along and find someone else to travel along with, maybe youâll find some new purpose for yourself, become someone elseâs bitch-âÂ
I didnât remain to hear the rest of the cruel dwarfâs words. Breathing uneven, tears streaming down my face, I ran through the halls, letting the calls of my name that rang out behind me fall deaf upon me.Â
It felt like everything was spinning, blurred as I fell against a wall, catching my breath, the taste of iron on my tongue. I gripped the marble beneath my nails, as if it would ground myself to reality, distract me from the images of the laughing orcs who had held me down, to dissolve the ugly smiles and laughter that erupted from them once they were finished. Â
âY/N? You silly woman, why are you out of bed? You should be resting! Your wound is bleeding again!âÂ
My eyes shot open at the sight of Gandalf, standing tall over me. Almost instantly, the sternness in his features creased into worry, taking my face into his hands carefully, wiping away the tears.Â
âBreathe my dear, breathe.â
I gasped, inhaling as much air as I could, gripping the wizards arms as sobs left me. With the shaking not ceasing, I looked back up towards Gandalf, tears still trekking down my face.Â
âPlease take me away from here Gandalf-â
âWhy? What has happened?â
I shook my head. âI canât stay here, I-I canât be here when Thorin wakes up. Please! Take me away from here!âÂ

Thorin, Fili, Emma and the Unusual Arrangement - Part 18
[Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9, Part 10, Part 11, Part 12, Part 13, Part 14, Part 15, Part 16, Part 17]
This tale is for 18+ readers only.
If smut, angst, fluff, backdoor entry, oral (m&f receiving), and threesome offend you, do NOT read below the cut!!! Â
In this Alternate Universe Hobbit tale, Thorin and Company find an injured Dwarrowdam in the wild who is alone. They take her into the company and heal her, insisting that she stay with them so she stays safe. During  the quest, Thorin, Fili and the Dwarrowdam find themselves  in an unusual  arrangement out of necessity and by the will of the  Dwarven god, Mahal.  What is the unusual arrangement? Will the arrangement work out? Will the line of Durin survive the Quest and reclaim Erebor?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finally, the three of you reach the top and Dwalin is waiting with a huge smile. He gives you three a HUGE, LONG hug and his eyes are glassy. âWe got worried when we saw Smaug headed fer Laketown and watched it burn. We had hoped ye all escaped and survived. A thrush informed us that a Dwarrowdam and Bard had teamed up te kill the Dragon and we knew it had te be ye!â he says grinning, and patting your back while Kili and Fili hoisted up the bundle.
âShe got a new moniker, too, Dwal.â Kili tells him proudly. âWhat is it?â he asks. âDragon tickler.â He says with a giggle. You just beam happily. Dwalin laughs. âWell, yeâll have te tell us that tale once this is all over, we need to get ye into the cave where yeâll be safe.â
âI have a gift for the company, Dwalin. Courtesy of Thranduril. You tell him just as Fili pulls the bundle over the side of the cliff and drags it over. Dwalin squats down and opens it and his eyes get huge.
âAll our weapons?!?â he asks. âWell, all but one.â You tell him. âThranduril apparently gave Orcrist to his Son, Legolas, who took it with him when he left to go to scout Gundabard. Apparently, thereâs been some activity up there that they are concerned about.â You explain.
âThrandy said he will give Thorin Orcrist and the gold for the commission he had done for the white gems of Lasgalen that his Wife had created. He apparently had commissioned the Dwarves to make them into jewelry for her. Apparently, the rift occurred because Thror tried to change the agreed upon price for the commission after the agreement was made; and Thrandy refused to pay it. He says if Thorin will agree to the original amount and return the gems and jewelry that Thrandy had commissioned, he will give Orcrist back to Thorin, with the agreed upon gold payment for the commission.â You explain. Dwalin nods as he puts his weapons back on.
âCome, letâs get you into the cave.â Dwalin says. Bring the weapons just inside the door and weâll pull the door almost closed. Weâve been leavinâ a chip in it, so it doesnât shut all the way. Weâve been using this as a little escape area te get away for a bit, and te watch fer ya.â He explains.
You three nod and follow Dwalin quietly into the mountain. He leads you three through the maze of passages and down into the cavern. âWeâve left food and cooking utensils fer ye both, since Bombur now has the full kitchens of Erebor to work with. Heâs been busy cleaning them up. Thorinâs obsessed with finding the Arkenstone since he arrived in here.â Dwalin tells you.
âDwalin, did you give him the bundle I gave you to give to him?â you ask. âAye, he rarely lets go of it. He clings to it constantly.â He replies. You sigh. âAsk him if he still has my dagger in his boot. Tell him to remember why I gave it to him and why I gave him the lock of hair.â You say. He nods and asks if you both will need anything else. You both shake your heads and thank both Kili and Dwalin for their help.
âDwalin, Thorin instructed me when we were still at Beornâs to tell you that if anything happens to Thorin and he perishes, take his right boot off, remove the insert, and take the dagger out that you find in there. Make sure it is placed in his hands when he is buried. I gave it to him on our wedding night and it is extremely important to him, and he wishes to be buried with it in his hands.â You inform him. Dwalin nods. âAlright, Lass. I will remember that. Hopefully it wonât come to that though.â He replies and gives you a hug.
âWeâll come visit when we can.â Dwalin and Kili both tell you and give you two hugs, then head out. The moment they pass the entrance to the cave, you and Fili see a shimmer as a barrier is raised that quickly disappears. You hear a low voice say, âI see you both have made it to the mountain.â Turning, both yours and Filiâs eyes get huge as Mahal and Yavanna stand just in front of their respective statues.
You both drop to your knees and bow in reverence. They both chuckle and walk over to the two of you and help you up. âCome.â They say and show you off to the right where the Company has created a little house of sorts using the stones found littering the floor. They walled off a section in the corner to about shoulder height of stacked stones to give you both a little privacy. A fire pit is against the side of the cave and two sets of pillows sit on some bedding. Cooking utensils are in one corner and a small cabinet is in the corner for clothing.
You giggle. âItâs so cute!â you exclaim. âIf there is anything you need, let us know. Do not put anything dirty into the lake, scoop out water from it using the pot beside the lake. This will be one of the few times we allow anyone to use water from there as it is a sacred lake and is not to be otherwise touched without our permission.â Yavanna tells you both. âAs long as you both are here, seeking refuge from Thorinâs insanity, you may use the water. Bathing and washing things, though, must be done near the walls of the cave so they do not sully the lake.â She instructs.
âThe barrier will protect you both, no one may enter unless we allow it, so take rest and relax. You may make love to each other and do not worry about getting Emma pregnant now. You are home and it will be alright. It will happen when it happens. Use the time to get to know each other like Thorin and Emma did.â They encourage you both. âThe barrier will block any sounds from escaping the cave, but will allow sounds in from the outside world.â Yavanna explains.
You blush and giggle. âYavanna?â you ask, looking around. âYes, Emma?â she replies. âWould it be too much to ask if we could have a couple of wash basins and a couple of buckets?â you ask. We have clothing that will need washing and our bodies as well.â You say. They appear beside you and you exclaim, âOH! Thank you!â and pick them up, carrying them to the wall a little ways from the âhouseâ the Dwarves made for you.
âUm, where are we to go for the bathroom?â you inquire. Yavanna shows you the designated area and you nod. âOkay.â You reply. âWhat are we to burn for fires to cook and keep warm?â Fili asks, and wood appears outside the half wall near the caveâs wall. âOh! Thanks!â he says happily. âWhen the wood gets low, I will just automatically replace it, Fili.â Mahal tells him. Fili nods.
âIs there anything else you will need for now?â they ask. âSome food for supper would be appreciated.â Fili says and venison and veggies appear on a low bench near the kitchen area Bombur set up for you, complete with a cutting board and a spit. You both thank Yavanna and Mahal they both nod and disappear with a chuckle, leaving you both to get settled in.
Fili gets the fire going while you get the venison on the spit. Once itâs ready and seasoned with the herbs Bombur left for you, Fili puts it over the fire and turns it while you get the bedrolls set up, side by side and get clothing put into the cabinet.
âI wonder how long weâll end up being here?â Fili asks. You shrug as you cut up the veggies and put them into the pot then go and take the bucket and head over to the lake. You use the pot you find to fill the bucket and carry it back and pour some of it into the pot. Then set the pot over the fire to cook.
The two of you talk while supper cooks. You both share stories of growing up and reminisce. While you eat, you both share your hopes and dreams. âFili, are you scared about the possibility of having to rule if Thorin doesnât beat this sickness?â you ask. âA little. I worry it will try to claim me or Kee next. I just hope and pray, that something ends up snapping Uncle out of this and that he beats it, so no further Durins will have to deal with the curse.â He says. âHonestly, I want that more than anything else. For the Durin line to be free of this curse that has taken so much happiness and joy from the line of Durin and caused so much heartache for the kingdom.
You smile and nod. âI pray Thorin over comes this, I miss him. We had so little time together, but it was the first time I felt wanted, loved and nearly complete. All my life I felt like I never belonged, I felt empty. Iâd toss and turn at night seeking a warmth that always escaped me, and craved an embrace as I slept that I couldnât place. The first time I cuddled with members of the company to keep warm it felt strange. I donât know how to describe it. It was like a puzzle piece that didnât quite fit.
Then I laid between you and Kili and he kept warning me about you being a blanket thief. He was SO shocked when he woke up with his own blanket!â you giggle, âYou were curled up around me, spooning me and your hand was on my belly and your blanket was over us. It just felt ârightâ. Then a few days later I was cold and Thorin invited me to cuddle with him to stay warm since he was still awake and everyone else was asleep except for the watch Dwarf. I crawled in with him to snuggle and it felt ârightâ with him too. He curled around me and hung onto my hands, which were always tucked up under my chin to keep warm. Iâd wake up and his hand would always be resting on my breast by morning.â You giggle. Fili chuckles.
âYou both made me feel safe each in your own way. Thorin is so much taller that he just kind of wraps himself around me. Where you are closer to my height and almost mesh against me like well fitted armor. I miss feeling how you both fill me so full and when I have you both inside me, I feel complete, whole.â You explain.
Fili grins. âI hope we can feel that again, Love. We just have to hold on to hope that Thorin will pull through this and defeat the sickness before it causes too many irreconcilable damages.â He says.
You nod. Fili carves off the meat as it cooks and drops it into the pot to keep warm. Little by little the roast disappears into the pot. Once itâs all been added to the pot, you both recline on the bed rolls and eat. Mahal, could we have a loaf of bread and herbs for tea?â you ask. And âpoof!â it appears. You giggle, thank him, and take the bread, breaking it in two and you both enjoy your meal. Once it is done, you cover the pot with your cleaned plate and Filiâs cleaned plate, and you set the eating utensils on top of them and set the pot off to the side. To cool.
Then you and Fili recline and rest. Talking quietly and you both remove your clothing and lie there naked, caressing each other, mapping each otherâs bodies in your minds. Fili revels in your touch and canât get enough of it. âAll my life I felt restless, like I was searching for something I couldnât define. I think that was why I was always stealing Kiliâs blankets. It was never done intentionally. Iâd just wake up every morning wrapped up in all the bedding. Amad would always laugh about having to âunrollâ me from them.â He chuckles.
âThen I held you that night to keep you warm for the first time, and I felt like I had found what I had been searching for all my life. I felt at peace and the restlessness left for the night. I looked forward to the times youâd come and cuddle with us. I knew Kee would roll away, he always does, âgets too warmâ he says.
I guess thatâs why I reacted the way I did when I woke to find you sleeping with Uncle that time. It hurt seeing you sleeping with someone else. I guess I was just tired of it, and not being able to tell you how I felt cuz I wasnât an official adult yet. I knew Uncle liked you and it frustrated me to no end that I knew you were my One and could do nothing but watch as another courted you.â He explains quietly. âThen I had that dream on top of it all and I was so confused and hurt and thought I was crazy and would be shunned for even talking about two Dwarrow sharing one Dam.â He explains.
You smile and caress his face. Iâm glad Mahal gave me you both. I was so scared at first. It was never explained to me how big a Dwarfâs member was and how he would fit it inside of me. When I saw how big Thorin was, I was scared. I knew you all were rather large. You all always woke up with a hard on pressed against my back or ass.â You giggle. âI wondered if that was a normal thing for males, or if it was just because I was there.â You say blushing.
Fili chuckles. âNo, Sweetheart. Itâs a fairly regular occurrence.â He admits with a grin. âOh, okay. I wasnât sure.â You reply, a bit relieved. âItâs too bad Females are so rare. Many of the company wouldâve made wonderful Husbands and Fathers.â You say. âYeah. Balin was kind of a fill in Father for Uncle and Amad (Mom) when theirs disappeared.â Fili explains.
âDwalin and Uncle kind of tag-teamed raising us. Kili was such a wild child that Amad struggled keeping him in check. He was always into mischief!â Fili says. âAmad said it was a miracle Kili has lived as long as he has.â Fili says with a chuckle. Heâs starting to show an interest in intimacy, but I think itâs more so because of my âcoming-of-ageâ being such an issue. None of us thought about that when I was allowed to come with.
You chuckle. âSo Iâve heard.â You say. âEm?â Fili asks as you rest your head against his chest. âWould you be willing to teach Kee when his time comes?â he asks. âI suppose. Wonât it be weird for you though? Sharing your One with your Brother for that?â you ask. âNo, weâve shared nearly everything in life. Keeâs always been there with me for as long as I can remember. If itâs okay with Uncle. And you. Itâs fine with me. You did a great job training me considering you only had a month more experience than I did. Kee would be lucky to have you train him since you and Uncle will hopefully have SO much more experience than you had with me.â He giggles.
You chuckle. âWeâll cross that bridge when we get there, Fee.â You remind him and caress the soft, blonde hair on his chest. He purrs happily. You crawl up and lie down on top of him and gently grind on him, earning soft moans of your name and sweet praises.
Filiâs hands begin to wander, and you close your eyes and moan quietly. You both just bask in the wonderful feeling while you get wetter and wetter. Fili moans quietly and begs to enter you. You lean down and slip him into your main passage, and he groans, âOh, Em! So tight!â he moans as he struggles not to cum right away. You bury him to the hilt in your tight tunnel then still. Enjoying the feeling of his fullness deep in your core. You lie against his chest and nuzzle it, nibbling his pecs and his sensitive nipples earning tantalizing moans of pleasure, making him writhe under you. âOhhh, Emmm, ohhhh, Honey! Mmmmm yessssssss! Just like that!â he moans.
You spend the next few hours pleasuring Fili and learning his likes and dislikes like he learned yours. You grin being able to draw such sounds out of him and watch as you slowly make him come undone. Itâs such a glorious sight. His sweat slicked body, the faint pink blush, his solid chest heaving, golden curls on it stuck to his flesh, his luscious lips parted in pants as he gasps for air, his halo of golden strands sticking to his glistening face.
You grin when you get him to open his gorgeous sapphire eyes to gaze at you and then you do something to give him intense pleasure and you see those sapphires roll back into his lids and he moans your name wantonly.
Over and over, you bring him to the edge and let him tip over as much as he wants, sometimes you give him a rest, other times you keep riding him slowly and build him up to a second climax, getting him to sing your praises.
After a bit, you take him fast and hard, bodies gliding over each other smoothly as the sweat lubricates both your front and his. Filiâs hands grip your ass tight, squeezing rhythmically, making you both tip over the edge together with a low, wanton moan. The two of you cum together in a glorious, mind-blowing release that leaves you both panting, throbbing and feeling like lead. âWOW!!!â is all Fili can say. Grinning, you nod.
The two of you fall asleep, joined together in a peaceful embrace. For the next month, the two of you join off and on each day, with little else to do besides talk. Occasionally one or two of the Dwarves are able to sneak away and visit you, but Thorin, in his madness keeps them busy. Near the end of the month, you and Fili begin to feel tired of being cooped up in the cave.
Dwalin comes and tells you both that the Elves and Men have grown tired of waiting for Thorin to come to his senses and have marched on the mountain and are now besieging it and that Thorin has sent a Raven to Dain asking him to come help end the siege.
He asks how you both are, and you tell him you are tired of being cooped up in here and look forward to getting out and helping rebuild. He nods, âHopefully we all survive this. Thrandy is threatening to attack and Thorinâs kept us busy building a barricade across the entrance of Erebor and when we finished, heâs kept us in the treasury looking for the blasted Arkenstone. He says rubbing his head. âMahal, I hope Thorin pulls his head out of his ass soon! We need him thinking clearly or weâll all end up dead!â he says with a sigh. âWeâre tryinâ not te lose hope, but heâs fallinâ so fast that it seems all he thinks about is that damnable stone! I wish that miner never wouldâve found it!â he growls.
Suddenly Mahal appears. âI understand your frustration, Dwalin. When the stone is found, bring it here and I will hide it away so it is never found again, and no Dwarf will know itâs location. I will speak with the heads of all the Dwarvesâ rulers and inform them that the Arkenstone has been found in Erebor, but that I have taken it and hidden it so the line of Durin is no longer driven to insanity by itâs power. That they are to continue to recognize and hold to their oaths to serve the King of Erebor as if he still had the stone. It will not leave the mountain, so in a sense, he will still possess it, but none will know where I have hidden it.â He tells the Dwarves.
âMahal, is there nothing that can be done to help Thorin defeat the Dragon Sickness? What of the promises you made to him and me about our future?â you ask sadly. âThorin is fighting it the best he can, Emma. He is tiring though. The dagger you placed in his boot he feels with every step as it does not allow his boot to give like the other one, he wears does. He clings to the braid you gave to him trying to remember his true treasure, but the gold sickness is powerful. Something is making it stronger than it usually is. Do not fear, Sweetheart. Thorin is stubborn. He will continue to fight and cling to you.â He assures you.
You sigh. âI miss him.â You say quietly. âWe all do, Sweetheart.â Dwalin says and gives you a hug. âDo not give up on him.â He tells you. You hug Dwalin back and he heads back to rejoin the group. A few days later you feel the whole mountain rumble and shake. You and Fili cling to each other as you lie on your feather ticks looking at the fire and talking quietly. âWhat was that?â you ask. âNot sure.â He replies.
âWereworms.â You hear Mahal say. âTheyâre digging tunnels for the Orcs and Trolls to pass through so that they can lay siege to the mountain and claim it to defile and strip it of its wealth.â He informs you both. âOH, Mahal, PLEASE donât let them do this! Weâve worked so hard and traveled so far to finally reclaim it!!!â you beg and start to cry. Fili holds you and tears trickle down his cheeks as well.
âYouâre safe here, Em. I know you worry for our friends. Hopefully the armies of Elves and Dainâs army and the men of Dale will fight alongside each other to defeat these filthy creatures.â He tells you.
Clear Waters (Fili x Fem!Reader)
Warnings: none
Word Count: 2069
A/N ok so I do not like this one as much and also it is veryyy long for me so that's also why. For this one, it is kind of open-ended and I still have not decided who it's for lol, It could be Thorin, Fili, Kili, or Bilbo. Who knows, even Dwalin or bombur. I lovvve being indecisive. so have a surprise and let me know if you have any requests. Enjoy xx
The water swept over me, my muscles taut with strain, but I felt freer than ever. The water was icy, but it soothed me. Muscle memory taught me to savor the moment from when I jumped in the water to when I clambered back on the boat. A few stray waves hit me, rolling me over a bit. I let them roll me, facing upwards towards the sky. I sighed. Bard would be back soon, and he would want me to help him with whatever he had today. Of course, I was more than willing to help. After all, he is the one that brings me out in these waters and lets me have time to myself. I began to swim to our meeting place, one that we both had memorized. I let my body relax, the tendrils of kelp trying to keep me from going back. I willed myself forward, but to what? More scoffing at my ideas, more remarking on how I am not married yet. But I had to.
The waves began to swell, and I smiled. Bard was here to pick me up. Of course, he did the old trick of pretending to almost run me over. I laughed at his antics, he rarely was ever humorous anymore. I hoisted myself up the side of the boat, sopping wet when I realized that he had company. I looked at Bard, who shrugged.
"Lass, you could have drowned! What are ye doing?" A crowd of what looked like 14 dwarves stood before me. They were all staring incredulously, obviously, they did not expect someone to be swimming in these waters.
"I'm just going for my daily swim of course. Did you actually think Bard was going to hit me? You have so little faith in your ferry it seems." I Â wrung out my hair over the side of the boat. My explanation did not seem to suit them, but they dropped the subject fairly quickly.
"Now might I ask, who are you?" a voice said quietly. I looked up and faced a dwarf, no, a hobbit who looked very out of place.
"I am y/n, from Laketown. And who are you? It looks like you are a halfling unless my eyes deceive me," I responded.
He fidgeted a bit. He was obviously very uncomfortable. "Yes yes, that's me. Bilbo Baggins." He scooted back to the other side of the boat. An odd character he seems, out of place. Why was he here? I turned back around, tired from all the swimming. I met the eyes of some of the other dwarves. Two of them had a very mischievous look in them. Some were more somber. But one of them caught my eyes. He looked like he was the leader of all of them, even if he did not say anything. He had that air of authority to his figure. I caught his eye, trying to figure out what these dwarves were doing here, but his face did not give anything I way. I leaned my head back against the boat. Breath in, breath out. Slowly my eyes closed, letting slumber take over my willing body.
--------time change hehe--------
Bard shook me awake, motioning to the barrels that were now filled with fish. How long was I asleep for? I shook the last tendrils of sleep off me, and clumsily grabbed one of the barrels. I poured it onto the deck where Bard was pouring one, and a redheaded dwarf rolled out unceremoniously. I gave Bard a questioning look, but he motioned to stay quiet. Well, a time for everything I suppose.
Once we had poured out all the fish, dwarves included, I was free to go. But, after all, I am a nosy person, so I decided to go with Bard. For some reason we had to sneak the dwarves into his house, were they fugitives of some sort? Well, no matter who they were, they were picky, with everything. The weapons Bard offered were "not good enough". Everything seemed to pass by in a blurry haze. Clearly, I needed more sleep. I noticed one of the dwarves seemed to be in pain, clearly trying to hide it. I ventured a bit closer, but Bard called for me to help him with something.
The night approached quickly, and these dwarves were very somber. I walked up to one of them, the oldest one. "Might I ask what is going on here? Everything that I have ever heard about dwarves is that they are jovial, and I have rarely ever seen anyone this quiet," I spoke quietly, not wanting to draw attention to my confusion.
"Well lass, we are not here to stay, and we are a bit behind schedule. Everyone is just a bit tense, as this is very important for everyone," the dwarf said vaguely. "You're y/n aren't ye."
"Yes, that's me. And who are you?"
"Balin son of Fundin. It is a pleasure to meet you. Now I see you are a bit fiercer than the rest and I would like to know if there is an armory here where we can get weapons from. If you do not wish to help, that is fine. However, I can tell you want adventure. Make up your mind soon." He walked away to get some food, leaving me with my mouth wide open. How could he know? How does he know that I hate this place, that I want to leave on journeys? I would drill him about that later, but for now, I must help them.
I murmured some of the plans to Bilbo, who told Balin. Everyone else came to know, and the minute Bard would leave we would be off. Bard would not be happy with me, but I don't care. It's about high time I had something to do other than sitting around or swimming. I needed an escape. As we were all eating, talking amongst ourselves, I noticed Bard hurriedly whisper something to his son and slip out the door, unnoticed by everyone.
I yawned, "Well I think I will be heading off to bed. It was lovely meeting you all." I met all of their eyes, lingering on some for longer. I still noticed the younger dwarf hiding his pain, but I could do nothing at the moment. I left the house and down the stairs, waiting. After about five minutes I heard grumbling from the rest of the dwarves. I motioned for them to stay quiet and quickly led the way. I showed them the window that they could enter once we reached the armory.
"This is the only way in without alerting guards. Be quiet. If anyone of you makes a noise, it is over. I will leave once you get in unless there is anything else I can help you with," I said hopefully. I still wished to leave this dreadful town.
Thorin, the dwarf in charge, muttered some orders to the rest of them and then turned wearily back to me. "We are in your debt. Thank you for helping us," he said grudgingly, in a deep gravelly voice.
I nodded my head and left them, turning around a corner. I stopped though, for I heard them saying something.
"She would have been of use to us. Clearly, she knows a way out of here and we don't." I heard one of the dwarves arguing. I could not tell which one.
"No, she would only hinder us. She is soft, she has never left this village, she would only be a burden." I heard Thorin say gruffly. He wasn't necessarily wrong, but they underestimated me. I could handle a sword, and I would not hesitate in killing orcs. But if I showed myself, they would all not trust me. So I stayed hidden.
"Uncle you don't know that. Besides, think of what use a human might be. They perceive things in different ways sometimes. There's something about her. She would help us, I know she would." The other dwarf spoke.
Hmmm, which ones were his nephews. I thought the injured one was his only relative, but clearly, I was wrong. The injured one's voice was not as resonant as the one that was speaking. I accidentally shuffled a bit, and their voices grew quieter. I could no longer hear them, but it was nice to know that someone wanted me there. All of a sudden there was a huge crashing of metal and a couple of thumps. I fled the scene, knowing that I could not get caught with them. Everyone already was wary of me, I would hate to make things worse for myself.
I heard the shouting of guards as I ran, far enough away that I knew I wouldn't be caught. The town center, that was where they would be brought. I took some shortcuts, so hopefully, I could see them alright. Everything passed by in my anxiety-induced haze. If they mentioned me at all, I was well, screwed. I vaguely heard Thorin shout something, and everyone cheering, but I was mostly looking at the dwarves' faces and made sure they were alright.
Balin looked a bit concerned, and the youngest one was still trying to hide his pain, but everyone else looked joyous. I smiled looking at them. It was the first time I had seen them in a good mood. One of them looked right at me, he was blonde, and he looked younger. I think he might have been the one talking about me. I waved and he dipped his head in acknowledgment.
Everyone was busy celebrating that they were going to the lonely mountain, but I mostly wanted to check on the hurt dwarf. Kili I think his name is. But before I could reach them, the crowd pressed in. Drinks were brought out and I could barely move without bumping into someone. It got harder to breathe. I began taking quicker breathes, trying to push my way out of the pandemonium. My ears were ringing because it was so loud. Finally, I managed to get out, and I sat against one of the stalls, leaning my head back against it. Footsteps approached me, slowly, and I turned my head.
"They are going to bring doom to us all," Bard said hoarsely. "But all anyone wants is gold. Greedy things we are. It makes me almost sick to watch this. Do you want me to walk you back to your house or are you fine on your own?"
"I think I'll be alright for tonight Bard, thank you though. Goodnight." I replied back.
I closed my eyes for a second, listening to the laughter, beer slopping down the sides of mugs, something I have not heard in a long time. It is odd to miss things like this, especially when you don't realize you miss them. Some more footsteps approached me, but quicker, with a skip to them.
"My Lady," the dwarf said, bowing his head.
I smiled in return. "I am certainly no lady. And remind me, which one are you?"
"Ah, but you look like a lady to me. I am Fili, nephew of Thorin. Why are you sitting down when there are festivities to be had?"
"A gentleman does not ask a lady such questions." I retorted.
He gave a sly chuckle, "I thought you aren't a lady."
I laughed, not expecting this from him. But it was funny nonetheless. "Well, you have me there. Now tell me everything about this quest. I am keen to be on one myself and I would love to hear it all."
So Fili told me everything. Where he was born, why he wanted to go, everything. Obviously, some of the ale he drank was at work, seeming to make him more flamboyant than he usually might be. But it was amusing and laughter ensued.
When the music died down and people began to head home, Fili wrapped up his exaggerated tale.
"It was lovely to meet you Fili. I wish you the best of luck on your quest." I said softly. "Please try not to wake the dragon."
He chucked. "It was lovely to meet you as well y/n."
I waved him farewell and walked back to my house. It was always good to meet new people, especially these dwarves. They seemed like they could be so happy if they tried. Well, it is time to settle in for the night.
