I'm really not a villain enjoyer. I love anti-heroes and anti-villains. But I can't see fictional evil separate from real evil. As in not that enjoying dark fiction means you condone it, but that all fiction holds up some kind of mirror to the world as it is. Killing innocent people doesn't make you an iconic lesbian girlboss it just makes you part of the mundane and stultifying black rot of the universe.

"But characters struggling with honour and goodness and the egoism of being good are so boring." Cool well some of us actually struggle with that stuff on the daily because being a good person is complicated and harder than being an edgelord.

Sure you can use fiction to explore the darkness of human nature and learn empathy, but the world doesn't actually suffer from a deficit of empathy for powerful and privileged people who do heinous stuff. You could literally kill a thousand babies in broad daylight and they'll find a way to blame your childhood trauma for it as long as you're white, cisgender, abled and attractive, and you'll be their poor little meow meow by the end of the week. Don't act like you're advocating for Quasimodo when you're just making Elon Musk hot, smart and gay.

I don't like the judo flip in moa as much as the next guy but in my eyes it's largely the result of rick not taking female violence half as seriously as male violence (a result of viewing women as weaker and inferior to men such that their acts of violence don't need to be taken as seriously) and not so much anything about annabeth herself. like I do genuinely feel that annabeth is a complex heroine and definitely one of the better ones in the realm of ya action-adventure fiction produced in the past 25 years but she is still a girl being written by a man and all I'm saying is that her writing clearly reflects that sometimes (more in tags)

unpopular opinion: i know most of the show fans find ursula bonadeo annoying and dislike her character because cesare projected lucrezia onto her and used her as a substitute. but after many rewatches, i grew to like her. she's very pretty, and she was very sweet to lucrezia while helping her with giving birth. i feel sorry for her because she's a noble young woman who spent her life trapped with an abusive husband who beats her. and when she thought she finally found this handsome, honorable savior who could free her (even though she was indecisive about him, which i don't blame her because women back in that era didn't have many choices, and her husband would probably kill her if he found out about her and cesare), he turned out to be unhinged, as he seduces her, and manipulates her while being lustfully obsessive over her. so, she was rightfully terrified and frustrated by cesare because he eventually assaulted her and dragged her around while forcing himself on her because she didn't exactly look like the perfect image (mirror of his sister) in his head after she cut her hair. then she got a very brutal end at the hands of the french army, raping her and mutilating her. she lived most of her life being tormented by cruel men. her character makes me so sad thinking about the women who were mistreated and killed by their abusive partners and were lost and forgotten to time because of the patriarchal system since it is beyond horrible towards women.

Bakudeku-antis are so brain dead. "Bakugou told deku to kill himself!" That was six seasons and over 400 chapters of character growth and development ago.

Even if you don't ship it, you cannot deny the obvious close bond they have with one another. Just writing it off as abusive and unhealthy doesn't work anymore.

Bakugou was awful to Deku. Like genuinely. He bullied him both physically and verbally. There's no doubt about that. But Bakugou has come so far since then. Acknowledged how much of an asshole he was. Realized how much his friendship or relationship with Deku means to him. And apologized for everything he did. And didn't stop making up for what he did after he apologized. He spent seven years of time and money so he could see Deku continue his dream, and so they could be rivals once again and stand by each other's side.

Ship or not, they mean a lot to each other. You really can't pretend they don't.

No One: Me: Fundamentally, Wyler is a bit toxic as ships go but they're also very healthy in terms of being able to see two characters 100% in it for themselves. Their self worth and their gain, it's an equal partnership and whilst they may compromise they always put their wants and needs first and THAT'S important, it might not be 'Romantic' in that sense but you know what? I love seeing couples who don't have to worry about the other one dying because they know damn well that they will FIGHT to survive, even if it means one of them is killed ultimately by the other. In a life or death situation one of them will not die for the other but will die to the other, kill for each other. Wednesday says it herself "I will always put my wants and needs first" and honestly I really think the ship is an excellently written one with a lot of potential in the future-
