This blog is really fulfilling my near constant need for long lectures over fandoms that I never really get to flex out huh? I'm going to start making powerpoints. Alright, time to explain Ivankov and Bon Clay with a quick history of the LGBTQ+ community in Japan. Disclaimer: I am not Japanese, I am from a western country, but I will try to do my best to summarize the history and connotations to the best of my ability. I also do understand that some of the genderqueer characters do seem to be based on stereotypes, but that will be explored.
Okama is slang interchangeably used for gay men, drag queens, gender nonconforming men, and transgender women. It is very similar to the English word "Queer," especially in the idea that current members of the LGBTQ+ community are attempting to reclaim it as a positive phrase, rather than the slur that has been used against them. A large part of Japan still conflates gay with crossdressing or transgenderism, which is why homosexual men are sometimes referred to as okama (literally a 'pot' but meaning something similar to the English word 'queen') and are usually represented as cross-dressed and effeminate. The use of the term okama derives from the slang usage of the term to refer to the buttocks and thereby to anal sex which is considered to be the definitive sexual act engaged in by homosexual men. Homosexuality in Japan has had a fraught history that I do not have the character space to completely include here. Bon Clay is a character that first appeared in One Piece in the year 2000. Now, I know a lot of modern day fandoms do not understand the history of queer characters in media. This was long before we had shows like The Owl House, Steven Universe, Yuri on Ice, or She-Ra (I can't think of a lot of modern queer anime off hand). We had very little canon queer characters, at at the time, it was far more common for queer characters to either be women (Sailor Uranus, Utena), or male villains. And Bon Clay was not only queer, he was an out and proud Okama. He was referred to both as a man and a woman, and sang an entire song "Okama Way/Oh Come My Way." Bon Clay, despite being a villain, got a redemption, he befriended the Strawhats, and helped them to escape from Alabasta, even though he himself was sent to jail instead.
“One may stray from the path of a man. One may stray from the path of a woman. But there is no straying from the path of a human!”
In the end, this world is broken down to men and women But I'm a man who is a woman So I'm the best (the strongest) The best (strongest!) OH COME MY WAY
Emporio Ivankov
As Mod pointed out, his design is based off of Doctor Frank N' Furter from Rocky Horror Picture show and Norio Imamura, a real life Okama and a member of Mayumi Tanaka's acting troupe whom Oda met. Ivankov is gender fluid and uses their fruit to switch between whatever sex characteristics they want to have. Ivankov refers to himself as a "Newkama", as opposed to an "Okama". This is a double pun made by mixing words. It basically goes "Newhalf" (Transgender) + Okama (Crossdresser) = Newkama (Newcomer). Newkama claim to go beyond the concept of gender since almost every one of them has experienced life in both male and female bodies thanks to Ivankov's Horu Horu no Mi. Also, there is a question on what pronouns Iva uses, with in the Japanese text, they appear to use something like Neo-pronouns, always replacing the first character with a V in the pronouns they are using (Vatashi vs Watashi for "I" but I do not know enough Japanese to speak on this or how their pronouns should be translated)
She was the queen of NewKama Land in Impel Down, a secret haven inside of the prison where prisons escaped to. (This is why Mod jokes that One Piece fandom took over Horny Jail, we have a gay club in our jail in source material that was created by a transgirl and maintained by genderqueer okamas. We cannot be stopped). She is also a member of the Revolutionary Army, (MANGA Spoilers: A former slave), and Queen of Kamabakka Queendom, a place where okamas can be free to live their lives with no criticism and to just, be themselves.
Now, I understand why the artstyle turns people off and makes them seem like harmful stereotypes, and they aren't always treated well in the story. While Luffy is extremely accepting of Ivankov and Bon Clay (The only people in the entire story he refers to with honorifics are them, and he uses female honorifics, Iva-Chan and Bon-Chan), Sanji has shown to be pretty transphobic. But I also think that they encapsulate the messages of One Piece: Complete and Utter Freedom. The Freedom to be true to yourself, to live your authentic life, and to live without regrets. These characters are not only strong, respectable, and free, but they fight for that freedom for others as well.
There is no queerbaiting in One Piece. The only canon LGBTQ+ Identities we have are the transgender characters, probably attributed to Oda not wanting to write romance, and thus it is harder to make canon gay/lesbian/bi ect characters. Luffy, on the other hand, is argued heavily whether he's canonically aro/ace, or just heavily coded. We have other queer characters as well, especially in Wano. Kiku is a transwoman, and Yamato is a transman. Bon Clay, Ivankov, Inazuma, and other "Okamas" are genderqueer, although the identies may not translate nicely into English. Some of it may not have aged well as well (The use of "Transvestite" for example). But overall, the LGBTQ+ Identities have been respected by the narrative of the source material if not necessary by the characters or author. (And definitely not by some fans). Its also important to remember, Bon Clay was introduced in 2000. Kiku was introduced in 2018, that is nearly 20 years to learn how to depict trans people. She has no gags, she just exists as she is. Oh, and none of the queer characters die in the series, and Bon Clay even has the quote "Queers will never die!"
(Morley should probably be added to this analysis, as a transgender woman who pretty controversial, but she doesn't appear much in the manga/anime so I don't know a lot about her lol. I'm also not going to touch the "debate" of Yamato's gender here)

Well done! Great job! You deserve a cookie. Because this is why I love Defend Your Blurbo. Emporio Ivankov and Bon Chan would be proud of you
Fun fact, the horny jail reference actually comes from the bg3 fandom and the narrator outtakes. I just think it's very appropriate for the One Piece Fandom at least when it comes to my blog and what you guys have put me through

Adachi's imaginary dick waving contest with Namatame
This is a revised version of a post I wrote very during the infancy of this blog. It is being split into smaller posts.
...I didn't intend to leave the name "Adachi's imaginary dick waving contest" but it was my one sentence draft and it stuck.
On a previous post, I talked about Adachi being the figure who shows up in the fog in the Central Shopping District on the dungeon deadlines, and how the dates he appears compared to when the first threatening letter shows up at the Dojima house would indicate that his claim about "watching an epic game of cat and mouse between the Investigation Team and Namatame" was bullshit. Chronologically impossible bullshit.
I propose that, instead of this, he was actually trying to screw over Namatame and ruin that dude's life.
Adachi's behaviors before the reveal
Aside from how Adachi is presented as not being wholly truthful during the December 7th dialogue, I think it's also worth pointing out that something doesn't add up about his "cat and mouse" claim when you look at his other behaviors.
After Mitsuo is rescued and brought into police custody, Adachi will appear at the Dojima house and bring up the possibility that the killer is still out there. He even does this again when Naoto turns up.
If you know he's the actual culprit, this might make it seem like he's taunting the player. I have also read an interpretation that he says these things because he wants to be caught, which from my understanding is based on the psychology of real world serial killers.
But while people bring these lines up, they fail to notice how after Namatame comes into the picture, Naoto finds Namatame's journal, reads out that Mayumi and Saki's addresses are in Namatame's journal, and then Adachi says, "that settles it".
If Adachi wants to be caught, why is he saying, "That settles it" in response to his murder victims addresses being in Namatame's journal?
He's even shown taking Namatame's case so seriously that Dojima thinks it's out of character for him as Adachi has been consistently characterized as a slacker up until now:
Furthermore, Namatame's transfer was foreshadowed. And if you follow the scenes, he was transferred because of the IT. In fact, the IT even knew about the transfer, they just didn't realize it.
On December 3rd, after the IT become the Seekers of Truth, they go outside Namatame's hospital room and talk about everything he just said. The IT are starting to believe that Namatame didn't do it, and Adachi overhears their entire conversation.
The IT returns on December 4th to question Namatame, and on their way out, an officer reveals that they are preparing to transfer Namatame. We know from December 5th that it's Adachi who orders the transfer, and it comes up on December 4th, the day after Adachi overhears the IT talking about Namatame not actually being the murderer. Hmm. What a coincidence.
I don't think anything with how Adachi approaches Namatame's hospital stay suggests "Adachi was trying to get caught" or "Adachi was trying to facilitate a game of cat and mouse" or even that "Adachi was bored and doing a little silly". The "game" of cat and mouse would be over at this point -- even if Namatame gets freed, why the hell would he go back to abducting people into TVs? Especially now that other people are aware of his actions?
Asking the "why"
At this point, I think it's worthwhile to start ask a bunch of obnoxious questions.
We know that Adachi is the real murderer, we know he nudged Namatame to go kidnap people under the guise of "saving" them, we know he put Kubo into the TV himself, and we know he sent the threatening letters. But for what reason?
If he's merely trying to get away with murder, why would Adachi throw Mitsuo into a TV to begin with instead of just letting him take the fall? Why, in the scenes discussed in the last part, is he openly talking about it being someone other than Mitsuo? Again, we can infer from his response to Namatame's journal that he is not trying to get himself caught.
We know he claims that he's watching a game between Namatame and the Investigation Team to alleviate his boredom. But if that's so, then why does he send the threatening letters to the Dojima house at all? People in the fandom explain this as him trying to rile up the Investigation Team. If he's understood what's been going on since the start and he was merely trying to rile them up, why does he wait to do so until after Naoto's dungeon? Wouldn't the time to rile them up be after they bring in Kubo, when they think they've won and think the case is over...?
I have also seen people explain this as, "Adachi just wanted to see more dead bodies". If Adachi wanted to see a dead body so badly, why not go chuck someone else into a TV himself? The only person he was willing to do this to, beyond his first two murders, was Mitsuo. And only after Mitsuo turned himself in, claiming to be the murderer. Not even in the bad endings where the calendar skips to March 20th does Adachi throw another body into the TV.
Furthermore, why does Adachi only shut up about a "real murderer" being out there after Namatame is captured, and rush to get Namatame relocated after people start asking him questions and figuring out he might not actually be the murderer?
Adachi claims to be bored, did it cause he could, watching a game unfold between Namatame and the IT. But doesn't Adachi's amusement go away if Namatame is jailed or dies and quits "saving" people?
Adachi's timeline leading up to December 5th, and how "Fuck Namatame" explains a lot of his actions
I think assuming that Adachi is being driven by a Namatame Hate Boner of sorts fills in a lot of the gaps and why he does and says certain things.
At the start, it's the part that's straightforward: Adachi kills Mayumi and Saki, takes Namatame's phone call, and recommends he "save" people.
Adachi says on April 17th that he knows people show up on fog nights. He then shows up on the April dungeon deadline expecting a body because he had told Namatame to go put a person in a TV. There is no body, and he goes "..." in the fog. Maybe Namatame got cold feet? Repeat for Kanji. There's no dead body. In the fog, Adachi asks, "Again?"
The police find Morooka's body. After two fog nights where no body appeared, Adachi thinks Namatame has finally killed someone. But Kubo turns himself in. This is not who Adachi wants to get arrested for the murders, so he gets rid of Kubo by throwing him into a TV.
The Investigation Team rescue Kubo and show Adachi that someone can be rescued from the TV. Chie makes a point of saying Adachi was there when they handed over Kubo, so Adachi both knows that Kubo is out of the TV, and that the IT might be related.
After Kubo is rescued, the police are going through with the investigation, but Adachi says, "Gee it sure would suck IF THE REAL KILLER WAS STILL OUT THERE..." because the guy he wants to get arrested, didn't get arrested.
Then Naoto goes missing. When Naoto returns, Adachi once more brings up the "real murderer" thing again when he's at the Dojima house. As Kubo's investigation carries on, it starts becoming obvious to the police that Kubo only killed Morooka, which Adachi also brings up during this convo.
On Naoto's deadline, Adachi appears in the shopping district at night. This time he says, "Dammit. Again?!" Last time, the IT showed him that a person *can* come out of the TV. Hmm... Kubo came out of the TV, and there's no body again this time... Is it possible that... Bodies have been going in... But coming out... This whole time...? :mind_blown_emoji:
The next fog night is coming up on November 20th. Adachi wants Namatame to produce a body, and he has guessed the IT are why he has failed to produce one yet. Adachi sends the threatening letters to the protagonist on October 20th and November 5th, hoping it will make you back off so Namatame can finally kill someone.
I imagine his game plan from April to November was to somehow get Namatame to kill someone, then get him arrested from this; perhaps a situation he thought he'd be able to manipulate on the police side if he knew who did it.
Later on November 5th, the Investigation Team all gather in the interrogation room and, in front of Adachi, explain that Namatame must have been abducting all of them with his delivery truck.
Naoto reads Namatame's diary which fortunately had both Mayumi and Saki's addresses in it. At this point, Adachi must think he's in the clear, and he goes, "That settles it". Everyone thinks Namatame did it and it's looking like he'll take the fall for Adachi's murders because of the addresses in the notebook.
At this point, I think Adachi began trying to get Namatame convicted for the murders of Mayumi and Saki. The notebook was a huge boon.
On November 21st, Adachi tells the IT that they can visit Nanako at the hospital. But before he leaves, he also tells them that they've been looking into Namatame, and he says, hey guess what? Namatame had been hitting on Saki. We know later that Namatame didn't actually do that, but Adachi is trying to keep up the narrative about Namatame.
On December 3rd, Adachi tells the IT he isn't sure if the charges against Namatame will stick, once again trying to keep up the narrative. When you think about it, even if Namatame were to die that night, it'd be assumed that he is the Inaba Serial Killer, and the truth about Adachi would never come to light. It almost works, even, but the protagonist gets everyone to calm down. Later on December 3rd, Adachi overhears the IT outside of Namatame's room and realizes they're starting to figure it out.
On December 4th, after the IT finish talking to Namatame, a uniformed police officer enters the room, tells them to get out, and says that Namatame is being prepared for transport. Meaning after realizing that the IT are still investigating after overhearing them on the 3rd, Adachi quickly organized Namatame's transfer before they can ask him more questions and figure something out.
And lastly, in the bad endings, where time skips from December to March, no more bodies have appeared because either Namatame is dead or on trial with people assuming he murdered Mayumi and Saki. If another dead body shows up, then it will call into question if Namatame is really the murderer.
But why Namatame?
Tbqh I think he was just jealous of Namatame's rizz.
Mayumi's death is portrayed as an accident. Adachi knew he could touch a TV, but he had no idea a whole body could go in, and threw up when he saw her corpse. Saki's death was 100% him being a power tripping asshole, having learned what happens with Mayumi. And both of these women, his victims, had someone in common: Namatame.
While this is not shown directly in the game, we can infer from context that Adachi saw Mayumi on the Midnight Channel at some point. And we know from Namatame's flashback that Mayumi did appear on there. What's more is that the rumor about the Midnight Channel was that you see your soulmate.
It seems likely that Adachi, new to Inaba and depressed / lonely / sad boi mode after being transferred, heard about the Midnight Channel (probably from Izanami), watched it, and saw Mayumi. What he didn't know was that everyone saw Mayumi - she was on people's minds because of her scandal. But he got something of a teenage girl hyperfixation on this real woman, thinking it was meant to be. And when he gets a chance to meet her, he does not react well to her and Namatame actually being an item.
Then, he goes after Saki, but he only targets her because of Namatame. He's shown in a flashback trying to force himself on her while mentioning that he saw her this afternoon with Namatame. She stands her ground and slaps him away, and he makes a face while saying that being with him is no-good but being Namatame is fine, huh?
Finally, Namatame himself calls the police and says he saw Mayumi and Saki on the Midnight Channel, they both turned up dead, and now he sees another girl.
I think Adachi's real game began here with this phone call. He's the real killer and he knows that people in the TV die and turn up on foggy nights. By telling Namatame to put them "somewhere safe", he is trying to get Namatame to accidentally kill someone.
And it's not just the Mayumi and Saki stuff. I think there are a couple other reasons why Adachi might be bitter about Namatame...
First, magic powers. What's unclear about the phone call scene is if Namatame told Adachi about Magic TV Powers. Namatame knew he could touch the TV because he did it when he saw Mayumi on the Midnight Channel. The game seems to have left this intentionally vague since the phone call only begins after Namatame has already explained everything to Adachi, but I think Namatame did say something about it. Adachi knew at the time that a whole body could go inside, and something about what Namatame said might have prompted Adachi to suggest Namatame put people where no one can find them.
Why does this matter? Well, Adachi seems to like his Special Power. How do you think he felt when he found out that he isn't very special, and that it sounds like Namatame can do the same thing?
The next one is related to something I wrote the other day about how Adachi's views towards having a government job might a product of the economic clusterfuck of 1990s Japan. Further down in the post, I went into each of the Investigation Team members, and how Chie is probably the only person who would be able to relate to Adachi in any form. Everyone else is either already famous, or, if their careers fail, they have their families to back them up.
But this doesn't just apply to the Investigation Team. Namatame is a government employee who loses his job due to the scandal... And yet he's still chuggin' along. He moves back home, and he gets a job working under his parents as a delivery driver. Adachi, to our knowledge, doesn't have something to fall back on or inherit from his parents if he loses this job. (I think this is implied by how his parents hounded him to study and sent him to college prep.) Not only did Namatame take his soulmate, but this fucker wasn't even completely ruined.
You can see his actions as like... He's trying to get Namatame to kill someone, he's trying to get Namatame framed for his own murders, he's trying to get the Investigation Team to kill Namatame. Adachi doesn't talk about Namatame much, honestly, but wowie I get the feeling that he really fucking hates this guy. Adachi is just so, so hilariously pathetic here. Like he thinks Namatame cucked him, so he's simultaneously comparing himself with Namatame and trying to ruin his life. Jesus dude.
tl;dr
I think Adachi has a raging hate boner for Namatame, spawning from him being Mayumi's boyfriend and his assumption that Saki was with Namatame
Namatame also having TV powers and Namatame being able to fall back on his parents probably added to the fuel
A lot of Adachi's actions seem to form a coherent timeline if you assume he was trying to get Namatame to kill someone at first, then later tries to get Namatame convicted for his own crimes after the diary is found
#i think adachi needs to watch the barbie movie and learn that he is adachinough and doesn't need a lady on his arm#nor does he need to compare himself with other men#also what the fuck do you mean this is 2700 words and 15000 characters#persona 4#tohru adachi#adachi brainrot#persona 4 golden#p4#p4g#taro namatame

ahhh your kaleidoscope series is so heartwarming! i was wondering if its possible to write a timeskip where kikufuku is older and is basically really protective over his mum in public, i think itd be really cute but funny that hes acting like her bodyguard 😭🫶🏻🖤 thank you if you do this! (his parents taught him well)
Kaleidoscope Series—Clouds and Mochi Chapters: { SSS }
—Gojo Satoru X Reader
𑁍 Synopsis:
16-year-old Kouki is just as tall as the 5'8 man. He should thank his Papa's genes later.
"You need something from my mother?"
"M-mother? I w-was just asking directions." The man replied, looking at you and Kouki back and forth.
𑁍 Genre: fluff, family theme, time skip
𑁍 CW/TW: (1.1k)— stranger trying to hit on you, protective Kouki, Kouki can be a little menace, Kouki's thoughts about relationships, didn't proofread, sorry 'bout that
𑁍 A/N: I've been rewriting this ask for several times over the months and only until this very morning did I feel I could finally do it at my own pace. Pardon the very long wait sweetheart, but I do hope you like this one! I hope you have a great weekend everyone~
Kouki is used to being fawn over. Not even bragging, but girls do swoon over him in his class that he has to escape to the rooftop to evade them.
"Eh? Cause me and your Mama are pretty, that's why you look like that." His Papa answered when he told him that girls in his class kept following him.
Papa? Well, he's not really handsome. His Papa is weird. He looks like a really long sugarcane when he stands straight in his violet uniform. Has someone even told his Papa?
Mama though. He thinks you're very beautiful. Kouki really loves his eyes because it's the same color as yours.
So it's not a surprise having a pretty mother that when you go out guys look at you, a little longer than Kouki would approve.
"We have to buy you new clothes, you're not fitting in the ones we bought last year." You sighed and walk to the department store with Kouki trailing behind you. "I know your Papa is tall, but I never thought you'd be this tall too."
Kouki pouts and shrugs.
"You use me to get the high things Ma, why are you poking my height?"
You laughed, teasing him more about girls in school breaking their necks when he passes them. His sister can't keep her mouth shut to get back at him at dinner time.
His Papa told him it was normal. Those kinds of things, getting attracted to the opposite sex because of curiosity. But he's never felt the need to entertain it. Kouki does get confessions but all of them are politely turned down.
"Why should I? It's not like I like her." He sighed at Yusuke, his friend since middle school telling him he's been a real snob with girls, this recent one is the principal's daughter.
"But don't you get curious about getting into a relationship? All that romance and stuff? C'mon, you're not planning to be a hermit or a monk are you?"
He already knows what it's like. Seeing his mother and father every day, Kouki doesn't really feel the need to seek out relationships, especially fleeting ones. It's not like he likes anyone anyway.
"Oh! I know. You're waiting for Mayumi? Right! It's been years since she changed schools. Are you still exchanging emails with her?" Yusuke grinned ear to ear.
"She's like a sister to me." Kouki stood up and pat his pants from the dirt. "I have siblings, and I'm gonna get angry if some boy or girl just dates them for fun too."
Dating... Huh?
He's rather protective of the girls in the house than fooling around. The same goes for his Mama.
"I want this hoodie Ma." Kouki came back to the aisle with a white hoodie in his hand when he saw a man talking to you.
"Do you know where this cafe is? The mall is big and I'm lost." The man—looking late 20s—rub the back of his neck while looking at you intently as you told him the directions.
Asking questions? Probably the man is lost. That's alright, he'll wait here 'til you finish helping the guy.
"Ah, thank you. If you're free can we get coffee together? I'm Hayato."

"Ma, I was looking for you." Kouki swooped in. Your eyes lit up and smiled. The man was taken aback by his presence but Kouki ignored him and put on a worried face, with a soft voice. "Papa told you to walk slowly. You can't stress my baby sibling walking around tirelessly. The first trimester is really delicate, didn't you hear what the doctor said?"
"What are you talkin—" You frowned and stare at him like he's ridiculously grown three heads.
"Papa mailed me he's waiting in the store, your rings just finished getting cleaned."
You frowned at him with the sudden remarks but he just winked at you and turned around, and everything changed. Slipping his hands into the pockets of his jeans with a blank look on his face, Kouki took one step forward. The man steps back and looks at him with confusion and a glare.
16-year-old Kouki is just as tall as the 5'8 man. He should thank his Papa's genes later.
"You need something from my mother?"
"M-mother? I w-was just asking directions." The man replied, looking at you and Kouki back and forth.
"Go straight in that corridor, turn right at the corner then take the elevator to the ground floor you'll get there." Kouki flatly answered. "Excuse us, my father is not really a patient man."
Kouki ushered you out of the shop. The directions he gave led to the parking lot.
"Y'know, you're really a minion of your father. The only you got from me is your eyes." You chuckled, finding your protective son funnier than scolding his rudeness. "And what baby sibling? Really Kou-chan, after your siblings you still want to babysit another one?" You teased.
Kouki huffs. He really wanted that white hoodie but forgot about it. Unknowingly you didn't realize the direction you're heading.
It was the same cafe the stranger earlier asked you about.
"What took you so long? I was really hungry." His Papa waved.
"Satoru?! I thought you were coming home tomorrow?" You shook your head and sat beside the grinning man. You were quickly enveloped with smothering and teasing.
Kouki sighed at the scene in front of him and turned to his phone, the tread of the recent message is still there.
—————
Him:
Pa.
Papa:
Yes, yes? Miss me Kikufuku? I'm on my way home~ I brought you a ddeokbokki, the spiciest one!
—————
Great, he feels the love. Note his sarcasm, please. Kouki ignored his father's words and got to the point.
—————
Him:
Pa, formation SSS
Papa:
Roger that, where?
Him:
Department store.
Papa:
Okie-dokie on my way Kikufuku.
Him:
On second thought, wait at Cafe Rio
—————
"You two are really!" You huffed but a defeated glint in your eyes.
Kouki stared at his parents getting all lovey-dovey despite the public setting. He should've chosen a more private place to eat.
"I'm gonna get that hoodie, I'll be back." Kouki stood up.
"Owkay~" His Papa chuckled, shooing him away. "Oh, Kikufuku?"
"Mnnn?" Kouki turned back and met his father's thumbs up. This time a genuine tenderness in his Papa's eyes.
"Nice one, son."
Kouki shrugged and waved, walking out of the cafe. His Papa is weird, but he's the only man worthy of his Mama.
On his way out, he saw the man in the department store. The man's eyes were wide open as he stares at his Mama and Papa inside the cafe in disbelief. He then saw Kouki, walking on the other side.
Kouki smirked tauntingly crumpling the man's face and ego more than ever.
Guess what? You're right.
The only thing he inherited from his mother is her eyes. He could be a menace like his father.

I love your content it inspired me to try and love my sims (though I'm incredibly impatient and want to hurry along the storylines). Though I read on one of your answers that you dont like to see your characters as characters in a storyline. so I wanted to ask you, how do you play your sims without getting impatient and without a storyline?
I took one of your advices and started them as teens and they are currently in the phase where they like each other and do cute things together but they aren't officially dating. I'm just excited to get the stage with you shin, mayumi and Maya but that's simyears away. Also how do you maintain friendships with your sims without playing them (are they also a part of your 'storyline") I KEEP SAYING STORYLINE but I was just wondering on advice to play without the need to play God.
Also little extra question I have, what's your opinion on the new game INZOI that's threatening to take over sims? Do you think you'd ever shift to INZOI?
Love your content keep creatinggg
hii!
that's right i don't see my sims as characters in a storyline (as in like characters in a tv show for example) because then i feel like i will have to control their lives & personalities too much it actually didn't take that long for me to make shin & maya date, it only took about 2 weeks of playing before i let them start dating (they were just so into eachother and had already started living together, they wanted to kiss so bad lmao)
now this will depend on if you have expansion & game packs, but i make shin & maya do a lot of activities that i sometimes don't film, like taking the kids to parks & waterparks, going on hikes, going skiing, going to all 3 mt. komorebi festivals, going to restaurants & cafés, making them buy groceries in henford on bagley, making mayumi's pediatrician check her health at home or at the hospital, making hina sleep over at her friends' houses, it's also by doing more and more activities that you learn more about your sims and what they like & dislike
shin & maya don't have many friends but they sometimes hang out with them or invite them over, if your sims are sociable you can try and make them meet new people or make them create or join clubs, shin & maya recently befriended a grandma that lives a few blocks away from them for example, she sometimes comes over to chat and play with mayumi & they sometimes visit her and give her gifts (mayumi loves her cats!) i also think it's great to have your sims enroll in university, i had both shin & maya work hard at university, maya was pregnant so i had to make sure she was okay and i had shin work multiple jobs on the side to pay the bills, now that they have jobs i make them level up their skills especially the ones needed to get promoted at work & make more money to keep improving their quality of life
inZOI
i don't plan on shifting my focus to inzoi content, the game is still new so it lacks a lot of features that i would want (toddlers, pets, more interesting careers etc) but i'm open to trying it when it launches depending on how they plan on making money, i still don't know if the game will be free and have expansion packs like the sims or if it'll be something else entirely i did experiment with the character creation demo, and i really liked the ability to choose any color for your zoi’s clothes, i wish the sims had that instead of limiting us to preset swatches
overall i just think it's great that the sims finally has some real competition, they've had a monopoly for so long that they could sometimes release low quality packs that don't add much to the game, now that they have competitors they’ll be forced to create better packs which is great for us!

Dandadan Episode 2 Review - No Balls
It’s hilarious that the story’s plot progression is because Okarun lost his balls and they’re on a mission to get them back. However, as day breaks, the chance to meet Turbo Granny has to be delayed. A few hours have passed since the whole ordeal—can’t you believe that these two only spoke to each other yesterday in the story?
Though, the world of Dandadan intrigues me. How long have these ghosts and aliens been wandering around the world? I’d like to know how aliens have managed to invade Japan so easily given that the Flatwoods Monster easily barged in once Momo took off the talisman from her house. I also wonder about the curse implanted on Okarun. How long can he survive without his balls and does the curse actually lift if he were to retrieve them?
The action scenes were great! I forgot to mention in my review for the previous episode that I really liked how the animators made the fight scene setting completely blue, but occasionally red due to Okarun being cursed. In this episode, the fight scenes were in grayscale due to the Flatwoods Monster trapping them inside his walls. I just think it’s a nice detail in that it amps up the eerie factor in the fight scenes. Colors are still a little consistent with shades of red popping out due to Okarun fusing with Turbo Granny. Why does he look like a modified version of Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul complete with the same JP VA in Natsuki Hanae? Was this the reason Hanae was casted as Okarun?
I also really liked the banter between Momo and Okarun in the sense that these two have only met yesterday in-universe but already bicker as if they’re long-time friends. I like their dynamic. Momo is blunt and speaks her mind, while Okarun is pessimistic and timid. I do like that even though Momo is a pretty girl, Okarun isn’t simping for her. He just wants a friend and he did all that because he didn’t want to lose the opportunity to gain one. He’s sweet in a way. I just like how they bounce off of each other but also are there for each other when needed. Okarun is hilarious when he becomes his fused form. He just becomes even more depressed and speaks in an odd way.
These two are also very clever in that they figure out what they should be doing without the need to be headless chickens about it. Okarun figures out that he probably needs to control his curse in order to fight back against the alien. Momo knows how to use her psychic powers and is aware of what she needs to do regarding the alien and its fighting style. People might think Momo might be too powerful, but remember that she’s the granddaughter of an exorcist; she probably already knows her stuff because she’s already aware of her surroundings.
On the topic of voice actors, Ryuzaburo Otomo voiced the Flatwoods Monster. From Mayumi Tanaka and Kazuya Nakai to Ryuzaburo Otomo in this episode, this anime is seriously stacked with amazing voice actors. If you’re not familiar with Otomo, he voiced Crocodile in One Piece and Vamdemon in Digimon Adventure. Just how many prominent One Piece voice actors will they cast in this anime?
I honestly can’t wait to see what will happen with Okarun. Since Momo has become unconscious, how will he control his curse? Is this when Momo’s grandma will come into the story? I feel like that’s the only way. What are your thoughts on this episode?

in honor of iwa day, i have written up all of my headcanons for his lesbian moms that i came up with months ago. it's what he would want. <3
okay, to make it easier for me and you, i went ahead and gave them names! sachiko & mayumi. now, let's get into it.
they were friends for a long time before they got together, they didn't get together until after iwa was born. i'm thinking he was around three or four when they officially started dating? (i suppose i'll take this moment to say sachiko is technically his biological mom but the distinction doesn't matter to any of them, iwa honestly gets pretty annoyed when people ask) young enough that he has always known both of them as his moms!! [his father isn't in the picture]
sachiko works in an office & mayumi is a doctor.
personality-wise, i think iwa and mayumi are more alike. she can be fairly blunt at times and has her own stubborn streak. she's the one who introduced him to godzilla too! however, iwa did get his sense of humor from sachiko! he's also like... the spitting image of her. same eyes, same smile, etc.
he loves both of his moms but because of their similarities, he probably butted heads with mayumi more when he was a teenager. nothing too bad though, they just got into silly arguments sometimes lol.
they're a fairly outdoorsy family! they go camping at least once (if not multiple times) every summer and they tend to do a lot of stuff! fishing, swimming, hiking, bug catching, etc. oikawa would go with them from time to time when they were kids.
sachiko and mayumi both play softball! they just play for a neighborhood association now but they were on a team together in high school. and mayumi played in college! she probably could have gone pro if she wanted to but she thought making a career out of it would kill her interest in the sport so she didn't.
they know a bit about other sports too! they had siblings and friends who played other ones but, funnily enough, volleyball was the one sport they didn't know a whole lot about. so they were thrown for a loop when that was the one iwaizumi got really into.
they learned quickly though! i'm picturing like. eight year olds iwa and oikawa sitting down and teaching iwa's moms all about volleyball. :')
sachiko is really into furniture restoration/refinishing! she's taught iwa a lot about it and he helps her with her projects from time to time. her projects are just for the family but she does daydream a lot about opening up her own little shop dedicated to it.
mayumi has a garden! i think she mainly grows fruits and veggies but she started a section for flowers too after sachiko mentioned wishing they had flowers. they end up with excess a lot so they're always giving fruits and veggies away to family and friends. the aoba johsai volleyball club always gets free fresh produce, living the dream.
in high school, iwa spends every sunday in-season helping her with the garden! only exceptions being when he's sick or has to be away for volleyball/school. he has plenty of time to hang out with his friends the rest of week so he likes devoting some time to hanging out with his mom. sometimes though his friends will come over and help too (it's sort of a rule if they want to hang out with iwa on a sunday, lol, bc he will rarely budge on it).
but honestly? his friends coming around probably has more to do with them also wanting to spend his time with his mom, lol. i think iwa's moms are really popular with his friends! they all think they're both really cool.
a majority of the seijoh four hangouts happen at wa's house, probably most of the seijoh hangouts in general tbh.
partially because iwa is an only child so his house is less rowdy but also because everyone just feels really comfortable there and his moms are more welcoming to a horde of teenagers than the other parents lol. (as long as they are told ahead of time)
they're pretty fond of iwa's friends! they think they're all pretty good kids and sachiko likes to send iwa to school with a treat for them on their birthdays. at first, it's just for oikawa, matsukawa, and hanamaki but by his third year it's expanded to include the whole team.
which sort of happened because his second year, iwaizumi offhandedly mentioned that it was yahaba's birthday too and she got really upset that he didn't tell her matsukawa shared a birthday with one of the first years on the team because she would have sent something for him too! (and she had only met yahaba like... twice at this point) she did send him with something a few days later. so his third year, she asked for an updated birthday list.
so, basically, the opinion held by all of iwa's friends is that iwa's moms are cool (but not in a trying too hard/acting too much like their friends way!!).
literally the only thing stopping matsukawa and hanamaki from making milf jokes is their utmost respect and admiration for them (and lesbians).
on that note, hanamaki and matsukawa both keep in touch with them after they graduate! and they hang out with them a lot even when iwa isn't there (especially when iwa is in california, they miss their son!!). their bonus moms tbh.
i think everyone on the team keeps in touch actually but matsukawa and hanamaki are the only ones who visit with them regularly.
they will send iwa messages informing him that they are stealing his mothers and iwa leaves them on read.
oikawa calls them "Mayumi-chan" and "Sachiko-chan" because he is incapable of referring to those older than him the way he probably should. iwa hates it but his moms don't mind it at all. in fact, i think sachiko is flattered by it.
his moms love oikawa, always have!! oikawa likes to tattle on iwa when iwa's being 'mean' because they always tell iwa to be nicer to him lmao. (they're aware iwa isn't really being mean, they just like teasing him)
for the longest time, oikawa's parents thought they were just really close friends and this was something iwa never really corrected because he was like.... a child. i'm picturing like oikawa's mom talking to him (age 10) and she says something like "oh, it's really nice of your mom's friend to help you guys :)" and he's like "??? uh, yeah."
she is mortified that she said that to him when she learns that they're actually a couple.
i made a post abt this but i'm just gonna put it here too. when they were kids, after oikawa met iwa's moms for the first time, he asked him later why he didn't have a dad and iwa said he got eaten by a shark.
this didn't really deter oikawa from asking further questions though because then he just had lots of questions about the shark that ate iwa's dad. and thus began a lifelong friendship.
HAPPY IWA DAY! HAPPY PRIDE MONTH! everyone should love iwa's moms. open to asks about them always.
#iwa day 🎉#hq family hcs#my headcanons#i have other headcanons too but they're related to iwaoisuga and i want this post to be For Everyone so i am sparing you#(or depriving you... however you want to look at it)#anyway i wrote most of this while suffering from a migraine so please appreciate it. i know i didn't Have to write it with a migraine but.#i had to. for iwa day. you understand.#this also means there might be typos fsjfds so apologies if there are

Two dorks go get baby gear
----
December 26, 2004
“Are we…allowed into a Babies R Us?” “We're gonna be dads, of course we are!” Kazuo led Ian through the parking lot, “It's not like we're here to steal a baby or anything, we made our own. With science! And you. And Mayumi, our lovely surrogate. And possible witchcraft. Whatever happens when you introduce an egg and sperm, I slept through sex-ed ‘cause it was straight.” “It's just that we're, uh…” “Gay? And we need baby gear. S'go.”
They entered the aggressively air-conditioned building, immediately serenaded with the wails of children. Kazuo grabbed a cart, “Got the list?” “Y-yeah…” Kazuo bumped Ian with his hip, “We can do this. We're two smart, capable men who, in a few months will be responsible for a tiny human.”
Ian swallowed hard, “Seems so…far away…” “She'll be here before you know it.”
“Hello there! Are you finding everything? When's the baby due?” Kazuo looked down at himself, brain screeching to a halt.
One, he did not have a uterus, let alone ovaries. And his chest was flat as the floor beneath him.
Two, did he look pregnant?!
Ian rescued him, “Oh, not for some time! We just found out. Isn't that right, honey?” “Y-yes,” Kazuo put on his most feminine voice, leaning on Ian, “He's been so wonderful about this whole situation, what with his divorce and the affair…with me…” “Um…let me know if you need anything!” The scandalized worker scooted away.
Ian let out an undignified snort, the two dissolving into idiotic giggles. “WHAT THE FUCK,” Kazuo hissed. Ian touched Kazuo's stomach gently, “I promise to love and cherish this child….unlike my other three…”
It was at this point that Kazuo began to wheeze with laughter, leaning on Ian for support, “That was the best possible way for you to handle that.” “Thank you for being quick on the uptake.” “Alright, crib, car seat, clothing, toys, diapers…” “Rocking chair, changing table, baby monitors. Um….the monitors…”
“Yeah?” Kazuo scanned the aisles. “Can we not get video ones?” “Why?” The black-haired man looked at him, pushing the cart. “Just….afraid of…ghosts.” “Valid, valid…Hey, why am I pushing the cart, I'm pregnant, remember?” “Of course, m'lady,” Ian gave him a smooch on the forehead and took over pushing, “You can load furniture, right?”
Kazuo bumped him with his hip, “No.” “Baby-laden Kazuo is mean…” “I can't believe she thought I was a woman. A pregnant woman.” “You are very feminine,” Ian paused to survey cribs, “Wood? Dark wood?” “Yeah, go with the house?” Ian went to lift the box, Kazuo grabbing the other, “Hm?” “I'm not gonna keep up the pregnancy ruse, I'm a gentleman.”
“And I reward gentlemanly behavior handsomely.”
Kazuo offered up a toothy grin, pulling down a changing table in a matching finish, “Ooh! I see clothes!” “Eee!” Ian blushed, surprised that he'd made such a sound, “Oh my…” “Oh my god, that was adorable. You're so excited!” “I am…we're having a baby!” Kazuo grinned, taking Ian's hands in his, squeezing, leaning up to kiss Ian.
“Let's go look at the clothes.” Kazuo leaned on Ian, watching him as they made their way over.
Ian was going to be a great dad.
“So, are we gonna put her in dresses? Onesies?” “A combination,” Kazuo grinned, holding up a dinosaur onesie, “I mean, look at this!” “Oh my…um, are we buying just newborn, or a few different sizes?” “We should probably get a range of sizes, cover our bases.” Ian nodded, the two men poring through the racks, winding up with way more clothing than they needed.
“We still need more supplies. We should move along,” Kazuo surveyed the cart. “Yeah, and I know Maurwwn's going to go nuts.” “Oh, she's going to be such a good grandma. She's really happy you're giving her a baby,” Kazuo rested his head on Ian's shoulder.
“I know. Little ashamed it took this long,” Ian rubbed his neck, then grabbed the cart, “Okay - diapers, baby monitor, rocking chair, toys.” “Do you know how to change a diaper?” “Not a clue.” “Huh,” Kazuo bit his lip, “We gotta figure that out.” “We will,” Ian pushed the cart, “We got a few months yet…Besides, we're actively learning…and I feel like as gay men, people's expectations of us are lower.”
“Yeah, probably. We'll show ‘em.”
They set out for the toy aisle, quiet for a moment. Ian broke the silence, “What do you think she'll look like?” Kazuo sighed happily, “Between you and Mayumi? Black hair, brown eyes…” “I dunno, my brother had blue eyes…” “Chubby cheeks, she'll probably be tall, like you.” “I think it's gonna trip people up, a kid that so obviously looks like both of us,” Kazuo grinned.
“Maybe they'll leave us alone,” Ian held up a planet-themed mobile, “My heart…” “Oh my god. Cart.” “You know,” Ian offered up a cheeky grin, “This is all quite expensive. You're lucky you got with a sugar daddy.” “Mmm?” Kazuo flopped against his chest, “You're so sweet. And smart. And sexy. If I were raising the kid alone, she'd sleep in an old Dell box.” “Oh, you tragedy.” “I am. I'm your tragedy.” “Mmm!” Ian pulled him into a tight hug, “I'm so glad I have you, that I can start the family I always wanted.”
Kazuo leaned into it, sighing contentedly. He loved Ian, he loved their future daughter, Nanami.
Namami….
His mom would be proud. Honored. Would have been a wonderful grandmother. “For you, mom,” Kazuo whispered to himself,
“We're gonna be the best dads.”

can a cat and a snake be lovers? well, here's the answer.
i wrote something of my ocs saito and mayumi. i am so fond of their relationship actually
cw vore, digestion, hypnosis
Mayumi paces across the floor, trying his hardest to find a comfy spot to lie down in the middle of the night. For once, he’s home alone, completely.
Him being a bakeneko helps with this, considering he’s a fairly harmless cat and isn’t likely to tear down the entire house. Not on his own.
He finds the warmest spot on the carpet and tucks his head into his arms.
The second he’s curled up on himself, though, he feels a twinge in his stomach. He’s hungry, but he can do without. He’d rather sleep than eat.
The apartment is quiet with everyone gone, so quiet it makes him miss them, but---he likes the peace. He likes the peace a lot. And so he closes his eyes, ready to doze off at any second.
He can hear a noise that sounds like slithering, though. He brushes it off as nothing--maybe a rat for him to hunt down later.
But the noise is distracting, and it gets louder by the second. He opens his eyes, mildly irritated at having his nap disturbed. But the moment he sees who decided to approach him, fear washes over the irritation.
His fur bristles, and he can feel his ears press down onto his head, feeling his tails tuck.
“...mrow?”
“Hello, Mayu…”
Saito looms over him, feet upon feet of tail filling the room. Mayumi gulps and buries his claws into the carpet.
“H-hey,” he says, trying his best not to whimper. He doesn’t want to be rude, but there’s something just so terrifying about him. “I--I forgot you were here. Hey,”
“Well, it is a bit hard for me to go outside,” Saito gives him a closed smile, raising the tip of his tail to prove his point.
“Oh…yeah, I--I get that.” Mayumi nods, wondering whether or not he should leave. He decides against it, if only because he’d like to stay on the naga’s good side. “Considering the whole---you. Yeah.”
“Eloquent,” he laughs softly. “I hope you don’t mind the company…I do get bored by myself.”
“Me? Mind? Nah, I’m--glad to see you. You live here too, you can go where you want.” Mayumi shakes his head, slowly realizing just how silky Saito’s voice is. As if he could drown in his speech alone….
“Hmmm, kind of you,” Saito rests a hand on his cheek, letting his tail drape over Mayumi. “So, what is it you’ve been doing?”
“Mousing,” he answers. “And sleeping. Just doing whatever I feel like, really. Sometimes I like to play with Kei’s stuff. Like his slippers or his weird vibrating cat paw…he has so much stuff. Humans are weird like that.”
“I suppose so…would you say it’s on the level of hoarding?” Saito asks, coiling himself further and tighter.
“Uh, no…no, I wouldn’t. It’s not anywhere near enough or anything valuable enough. I guess it’s valuable to him, though. He’s cute like that…” Mayumi sighs, thinking of his favorite plaything in all the world.
“He is, isn’t he? Cute and unassuming…not unlike you.” His eyes narrow as he smiles down at him, just slightly taller by a humanoid height.
“Hey, c’mon---I’m fluffy, not unassuming. What makes you say that?” He asks, batting at the much closer tip of Saito’s tail. “Dude. Dude. Wait. Holy shit---you’re so scaly…”
“That would be because I have scales, Mayu.” Saito runs a hand through his fur. “Do you like how they feel?”
“Yeah…” Mayumi sighs. “Warm…you’re warm. And your voice is nice.”
“I’ve been told,” Saito nods, giving him a squeeze.
Mayumi yelps, surprised at the sudden grip all around him. He’s completely coiled, with only his head poking out from the mass of tail surrounding his entire body. “Whoa…” he gasps.
“Hm? Is something the matter?” Saito asks.
“No…just…tail big.” Mayumi answers, resting his head upon it.
“You’re sweet, Mayu.” Saito grins at him, pulling him closer.
The bakeneko softly meows.
“Sweet and quite fluffy, if I have anything to say about it.” Saito continues petting him, and Mayumi doesn’t notice a thing until he’s completely pressed against him, Saito himself resting upon his tail. “You know…”
He meows again.
“You smell good. Very good…” He sticks his tongue out and nearly licks him. “Kei says I smell like weed, mostly.” Mayumi speaks for the first time in minutes.
“You do, but…it’s very you. It’s mixed with your natural feline scent, and---Mayu?” Saito pauses, squeezing him again.
“Y-yeah?” Mayumi croaks.
“You smell so wonderful that I’ve got the mind to eat you.” He says it far too casually.
Mayumi can feel both his tails shoot up. “Huh?”
“Don’t be so afraid,” Saito reassures him. “If I wanted to harm you, I wouldn’t have moved in. And---think about this. Your digestion wouldn’t be permanent.”
“Oh, yeah…” Mayumi blinks, but sinks further into the grip around him. “Come now, pretty kitty…give yourself to me.” Saito whispers, raising Mayumi from the floor. “You’d sate me for a while…doesn’t that sound nice?”
“I--” Mayumi tries to speak, but all that comes out is horroused mewling. “I--”
“You’re terrified of me, aren’t you?” Saito asks, stroking Mayumi’s back softly. “Don’t be. I know just the thing to help you relax,”
“What is it…?” Mayumi nearly does whimper.
“Just this,” Saito answers him, raising his entire body above the floor and closer, closer still to his waiting predator. Saito opens his mouth, not very wide, but Mayumi can see fangs glistening. He shivers, feeling all the evolutionary terror he should.
But Saito bites down on the nape of his neck, and his whole world blurs.
Even the yelp he lets out slows down, and dies in his throat.
“Wh--?” He claps a hand over his neck, feeling himself bleeding. “Wh--I--”
“Don’t worry,” Saito insists. “Calm down. It’s alright…”
Mayumi lets the softness of his voice wash over him, losing himself in the tightening grasp of his tail as he purrs. Why is he purring? Shouldn’t he be…
shouldnt he be--
“mrow…”
“Yes, that’s right…good kitty.” Saito grins at his prey, helpless and disoriented. “Now, tell me how you feel.”
“Good…” Mayumi grogs, his throat feeling dry and his eyelids heavy.
“Excellent.” Saito praises him softly, pulsating his grip and letting Mayumi devolve even further. “Now, I’m sure you’re absolutely paralyzed with fear….but, let’s let the venom replace that. Listen to me. You’ll be alright. No harm will come to you. I think you’re lovely, and all I want is to spend time with you. More than that, I want to eat you.”
“.....mrrreeeooow…..”
“Now, relax.” Saito commands.
Mayumi’s entire body unclenches, his face scrunched with the sloppiest of loopy smiles. “mhm…” he nods blankly.
“Perfect,” Saito strokes his head, and he purrs. “And then---rest your sweet paw on my lips.”
Mayumi sighs in bliss, and does it, not putting up any fight. He was drowning in the hypnotic grip of a snake…and he never wanted to leave. Saito was all he could think of, all he wanted…and if he wanted to take him in and consume him entirely, then Mayumi would be his forever more.
He rubs his head against Saito’s chest, earning a soft chuckle. It makes his ears flicker. He stares up at Saito with the biggest, most innocent eyes he can manage, completely unintentionally.
“You’re precious…” Saito praises him, but then parts his jaws.
Mayumi’s arms are slurped up so fast he wouldn’t have had the time to react even in his right mind. Instead, he gives a cross between a giggle and a hiss, feeling the warmth creeping up and completely enveloping him as Saito swallows his head.
It’s dark. He can’t see anything, but his tongue is so soft and wet…his throat so warm as it gently pulls him down…with muffled, thick gulping ringing in his ears from all sides. It makes him twitch with pleasure, purring with even more intensity.
Saito gulps him down with ease, his lower body having gone limp from the constriction and the venom coursing through his veins. He licks over his toes as they pass his lips, and he gives one last gulp, feeling the twitching cat sink into him…completely.
He lies down on the carpet, feeling his first stomach fill out with the contents of his latest meal, and lets his tongue flicker out for another hint of his flavor.
Saito exhales, happily pressing down onto his full belly. His full belly, bulging with such warmth and life…all for him to rend down into more padding on his monstrously long tail.
From inside, Mayumi presses onto the curiously pressing walls of his stomach. It’s warm, and wet, and so…deep. Mayumi feels like he could sink down even further if he isn’t careful.
So dark and…inescapable, but so welcoming in its total eclipse of all life that enters.
He reaches upward, weakly, feeling nothing but more pulsating in the naga’s core. He meows, softly, letting himself drown in the folds of it…
But as he closes his eyes, he can feel his legs being pulled down even further, as if there’s another deeper, wider chamber right below. He can feel his whole body sinking further down…and he can hear Saito moaning from absolute pleasure.
He finds it nice, that he can make him so happy just by being a meal winding deep within two stomachs…and judging from the way this one contracts completely around him…
It’s time.
“You make such a wonderful meal, my pretty kitty. Perhaps I’ll have Kei join you when he gets home…” Saito muses aloud, pressing himself harder into the carpet as he feels his tail bulge. “You feel so good---pressing against me like that---you’ve been so sweet, so well-behaved….”
He gives a blissed-out sigh, hedonistic thoughts of dragging more hypnotized prey down his gullet filling his mind…as Mayumi softens within.

The funniest part of the P4 Akechi AU is he’s really good at following the breadcrumbs of the mystery because he starts watching the Midnight Channel a day or so before Yu arrives, thus he sees Mayumi Yamano there. And then since he’s stuck being Yu’s roomie at the Dojima house, he sees that hand go into the TV. And he gets both jealous and super motivated to figure out WTF is going on, has already told Kanji about the Midnight Channel so he starts watching before Yukiko even gets kidnapped, and the two of them are kinda trying to make sense of it all independent of the main investigation team while Akechi is very salty Yu won’t take him to the TV world for his safety and shit (don’t patronize him, Narukami, he isn’t helpless and he can handle this ‘dark side of himself’ just fine)... And he figures something out that the others don’t even realize until much later- how to GET the power. Where it comes from... because you don’t get headaches from handshakes and a similar headache preceded Yu sticking his hand in the TV so he connects the dots. ....yet he views Adachi as so incompetent that he doesn’t even consider how sus it is that he was Yamano’s bodyguard and thus dismisses Adachi as a threat. Scrungly tween Akechi gets so much right, but his own bias about Adachi prevents him from a very early deduction. He’s gonna be so mad when the truth comes to light. But god, I am having the time of my life planning this fic. I’m near the end of April in the outline, and setting up for the next dungeon arc and things are gonna be derailed like whoa due to Kanji’s early involvement, more positive relationship with the Dojima fam by virtue of being the one to catch the signs of the shitty child abuse Akechi was going through and reporting it, and Kanji just knowing a lot about the TV world through secondhand accounts. He, Naoto, and Akechi are gonna do some fun stuff. I can’t wait to get to planning that... as well as Akechi prying into the life of a weird gas station attendant who only shows up on rainy days except the ONE TIME they shook Yu Narukami’s hand. Wtf is your deal, mystery gas station guy? Give him a handshake. >:( Do it. Let him prove that Yu Narukami isn’t special and that he needs to stop acting like he’s the only one qualified. Grr.

I’m glad you all understand. And yeah, I’ll start from the beginning.
___________________________________________________
“I was born in a small village in the Hokkaido wilderness. You’ve never heard it, we were quite isolated. My mother...she died in childbirth, and my father was left to raise me alone. But because of that, because of her death, the other villagers began to believe I was a cursed child.”
“The adults avoided me, the other children mocked me. Anytime one of them got sick, the blame was laid at me. During that entire time, my father...I was worried that he hated me too. He never did much to show that he loved me. I felt like I had no place there, and I just didn’t care what happened to me.”
“Then, when I was about 12, another child in the village died. The villagers blamed me for it, and they...well, when my father refused to let them in, they set fire to our home.”
“From there...things raged out of control.”
“The fire spread to the other houses quickly, engulfing everyone and everything. Those who gathered around our home quickly left, whether to save themselves or save others I couldn’t say. I thought that was the end for me as well. But my father...he pushed me through a window, and told me to run.”
“I hid in the nearby woods and watched as the fire consumed everything. It was in a wide clearing, so I should’ve seen anyone who did escape. But...I was the only one.”
“By the time the fires finally died, I picked through the ruins, trying to see if anyone was left. Every house was reduced to a burned-out husk or a charred heap. The smell was...horrendous. Just as I suspected, I was the sole survivor.”
“And so, throughout the night and well into the morning, I set about burying the bodies.”
_____________________________________________________
You buried them all?
However they treated me in life, they deserved a proper burial.
I was on my own for some time, just trying to offer my services to whomever needed them. It also seemed Hope’s Peak Academy learned of what happened, and so they offered me the opportunity to attend.
But I hate the talent they gave me. I don’t like burying bodies, I don’t like talking to grieving families...but somebody has to.
Besides, I’ve been close to death my entire life. It’s how I have such an aptitude for it.
I hoped that, perhaps, I could start again in Tokyo.
____________________________________________________
“Whoa, who’s that creepy girl?”
“She’s the Grim Reaper”
“Didn’t you hear? She survived while her village burned down.”
“I bet she did it herself.”
“She’s so ugly...”
“Get out of here, you freak!”
_____________________________________________________
Nobody wanted to associate with me.
And of course, you know what else I was doing. Those off-days when we met and I had to clean up the bodies.
And every time, I had to explain to the families of the deceased that their children died. I had to lie to them about it...and many of them screamed at me. I had to be the bearer of bad news, and they let all their rage and hate out at me.
Between that, the insults, my job outside school, the memories of what happened to my village...I turned to unhealthy coping mechanisms.
What do you mean?
...
*Estu rolls up her sleeve, revealing the old scars along her arm*
Oh...
*Mayumi holds Estu’s hand*
That’s where I came. I, uhh...found her in the bathroom.
At first, I thought she was there to mock me. I didn’t want to listen at first.
Yeah, but we talked for a bit, and I asked if she wanted to hang out.
I had to drag her sometimes, but she liked it.
Yeah, I did. Mayumi-chan was the first real friend I ever had.
And with her encouragement, I started talking to a therapist. It wasn’t easy opening up, but over time...I did feel better. I haven’t self-harmed for almost a year now.
But I couldn’t simply let the things that happened at Hope’s Peak go unchallenged. What they brought me there to do, and why. When Kasugano began his crusade against them, I realized others must feel the same way.
And then we started doing our own investigations, and that’s how we get here!
...I...Estu, I’m so sorry all that happened to you.
...When I said I wish I could switches, I didn’t mean to imply I wanted you to suffer like that. You don’t deserve that.
I’m simply saying, you have it better than me in some ways. You’ve had friends ever since you came to that school, and now you have even more. When you left Hope’s Peak, they left you alone, hoping that you would simply take your own life and that would be that.
They kept a closer eye on me, trying everything in their power to keep me in line and ensure I obeyed. I’m certain they were wishing I’d simply kill myself when I was no longer useful.
But I’ve decided, after so many people have wanted me dead for so long...I’m going to live.
Good.
But I can’t live as myself anymore. They know I know too much, and they’re going to take some final action to keep me silent and hide their secrets.
It seems, either way, Deguchi Estu is the last person I’ll have to bury.

Adachi trying to frame Yukiko
Early in Persona 4, there are a couple scenes where Adachi tries to frame Yukiko as Mayumi's murderer and raise suspicion about her.
April 17th, after you get caught with weapons at Junes:
Adachi: Well, that announcer, Ms. Yamano, was staying at the Amagi Inn before the first murder. Adachi: Seems Ms. Yamano had some harsh words for the manager about the staff's attitude towards guests. The stress of it caused the manager to collapse. And with Ms. Amagi being the manager's daughter…She must've felt pretty strongly about the incident, y'know. Adachi: By the way, did Ms. Amagi ever hint that she might be leaving the house? Adachi: 'Cause if not, there's been some theories floating around that she's laying low for some reason or another…
After you save Yukiko from the TV:
Adachi: We were just questioning Ms. Amagi, but she says she doesn't remember anything that happened while she was missing. And we can't figure out her whereabouts during the missing period, either. It's like she really disappeared. Adachi: It's all pretty fishy, if you ask me… Like there's something else going on.
On April 30th, when Adachi meets up with the kids at Junes and Yukiko is with the group, he doesn't say anything to her or about her. Seems he's dropped the subject... This all looks very silly after you learn he's the real killer. And so these interactions get written off by players as, "Adachi trying to drop hints about the case so that his little game with Namatame and the Investigation Team can continue".
But what "hint" is he dropping here? What is the point of his accusations? Or, idk, is there a point, besides to move the plot along? "Move the plot along" feels really, really generous. Chie seemed concerned about Yukiko going missing even before Yosuke brings up what Adachi said. The kids would have gone into the TV to try and save Yukiko regardless.
I'm not really confident about this because it *does* get dropped pretty quickly, and this feels like a bit of a stretch even for me and my walls of tl;dr. But I get the feeling that Adachi is trying to frame Yukiko or make her seem suspicious because he's (at first) concerned she might do exactly what she does in December. This would be pretty bad for him, seeing as how he's trying to get away with murder. And him sending Namatame off to try and kill someone then get blamed instead hadn't produced any results this early.
During December, Yukiko brings to light that Adachi showed up at the ryokan claiming to be Mayumi's police babysitter. Based on what we see, the game suggests that Adachi was lying about being assigned to her. But at the time, the ryokan staff didn't know any better. They took his word for it, and he hung around and chatted with them for a bit.
This makes Yukiko an eyewitness who can place him at the Amagi Ryokan before Mayumi's death, and that's why he's trying to make her seem untrustworthy or discredit her. Like, "What? Me? Mayumi Yamano? Impossible. This girl is crazy. She did it. She had a motive." But he drops it because after Yukiko comes out of the TV, she doesn't say anything that could implicate him. (And he would have an idea cause as he says after you rescue Yukiko from the TV, him and Dojima question her after she turns up.)
I have seen people call "Yukiko not bringing this up until December" a plot hole. I don't know. After you bring her out of the TV, it's like, "Shadows, blah blah, Personas, talking teddy bear, blah blah, amnesia about kidnapping, TV world induced exhaustion, Kanji's arc starts 5 seconds later". I doubt that "hey Adachi said he was there to guard Mayumi" is on the forefront of her mind.
What really puts this out of "plot hole" territory for me is that even if the kids think Adachi is a moron, they still respect that he's an officer. The power behind the badge is a very, very easy way to explain why Yukiko didn't think twice of him showing up at the ryokan to begin with.
And it's not just that one time, and it's not just her either. Like, Yosuke taking Adachi's accusation of Yukiko seriously is tied to him being a detective working on the case. Would Yosuke feel the same way if it was Kashiwagi saying this? Yosuke and Naoto respect that Adachi is in charge when the kids try to get the protagonist out of the interrogation room, Chie invites Adachi to Marukyu on the stakeout because he's an on duty officer, Kanji didn't think twice about his behavior specifically because he's an officer.
Semi-relatedly, I thought it was funny that out all of the Persona 4 characters, Adachi has special interactions with Yukiko in BB Tag. (Edit: Then again, Yukiko does have a special quote when she wins vs Adachi in Ultimax. So hm idklol.) On their partner victory screen, Yukiko says she won't question Adachi for now, but the Investigation Team will stop him if it turns out he's up to no good. And Adachi calls her and her friends naive for trusting him (even if only a little) enough to not be breathing down his neck already. Like, girl, come on, didn't you learn the first time?

𝚂𝚎𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚍 𝚝𝚛𝚒𝚊𝚕 𝚒𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚛𝚘𝚐𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚚𝚞𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚜 (𝙵𝚊𝚖𝚒𝚕𝚢)
1. Do you like yourself?
Ichiro: I'm fine with myself. There are some things about me I wish I could change though.
Akane: I wish I could manage my emotions better, but other than that, I'm okay with the way I am now.
2. What's your opinion on the guard?
Ichiro: He hasn't been very nice to me.
Akane: I have no idea how someone like him is a warden, but he's doing an okay job so far.
3. Do you want to get out from Milgram?
Ichiro: I don't know what I'd do if I got out.
Akane: I wouldn't mind staying here a little longer. I'll figure something out if I were to get out though.
4. What is a father to you?
Ichiro: He has to love and spend time with his children so they think of him as their father.
Akane: A responsible person who takes care of his children.
5. What would you do if you receive one million yen and you must spend it right now?
Ichiro: Buy tickets to all sorts of fun places. Maybe give some to my mom... If she wants it.
Akane: Fix up my house and buy lots of long-lasting food. I'd save the rest for my future education.
6. Do you have any fun memories of your childhood?
Ichiro: The time my mom brought me to an aquarium.
Akane: I can vaguely remember eating dinner together with my parents when I was young, so there's that.
7. If you could turn back time, would you commit the same murder once again?
Ichiro: I'd make sure that person was never born.
Akane: I don't think turning back time would change my shitty circumstances at all, so yeah.
8. Are there any prisoners you can't deal with right now?
Ichiro: I can't stand to look at the innocent prisoners anymore.
Akane: Rin is more annoying than ever.
9. What do you want from the prison guard?
Ichiro: Vote me innocent. Or at least give Keiko back.
Akane: I dunno. Some new earrings?
10. What is the difference between you and someone else?
Ichiro: They're normal and worthy of love.
Akane: I guess I could say I'm more afraid and angry compared to the average person.
11. What do you do when you're bored?
Ichiro: I used to draw, but now my only option is sleep.
Akane: Stare at whatever is happening in my surroundings.
12. If you had one wish, what would you use it for?
Ichiro: To have someone's full love and attention.
Akane: To have material and emotional security.
13. How many years do you want to live?
Ichiro: I only know that I don't want to die yet.
Akane: I'd like to get the full experience of life, so the ripe old age of 85 sounds good.
14. Which prisoner is the most like you?
Ichiro: Haku is quiet like me.
Akane: I think I would be more like Mayumi-san if I wasn't so angry.
15. Did you hate the person you killed?
Ichiro: It wasn't really his fault. I just needed him to be gone.
Akane: With all of my rotten heart, yes.
#I should have posted this first so people can read it before voting asaksjaksajksajksak#I'll do that for the other groups of prisoners#a few clues about ichiro's true victim is here!#most of my prisoners wouldn't know what to do if they got out of Milgram actually *sob*#akane is actually responsible and morally righteous like mayumi#she has basic first aid knowledge as well#which is why she's treating wounds now that mayumi's movements are restricted#in an ideal world they would be on good terms with each other *sob sob* like an aunt and her niece#prisoner 001: kanai ichiro#prisoner 002: kobayashi akane

I'm thinking about her relationship with totty more and you know. she might be the one person who actually ends up seeing her really get mad/upset?
totty is someone who prides himself in his people skills (at least among his brothers), but for all intents and purposes isn't the best when it comes to emotional conflict or actually Reading people and their vulnerabilities; as long as things go well for him, he doesn't really care, at least with acquaintances/people he has no long term stake in. he and kiru are actually quite similar in some ways! both are easy to get along with on a surface level, but you won't really get much out of them in terms of their own secrets/vulnerability; they're both very guarded people but not in the typical brooding/snappy way youd expect. both are deeply ashamed of their families/personal lives and the circumstances surrounding them, albeit for very different reasons.
first I'm gonna preface this by saying it Is 1am so my wording may be a bit inarticulate or weird. also if it seems that im mischaracterizing totty I'm very sorry i do love him so i PROMISE it doesn't come from a 2016 "lul he's satan" point of view. i am just very bad at writing canon characters and usually worry if they aren't perfect. you know how it is
kiru is a very calm person in general, but even past that she is... startlingly good at controlling how her emotions present to other people. she doesn't like to yell or lash out in her anger because it's only ever made things worse for her, and it's never really been cathartic, either.
however, where totty is more opportunistic with the people around him (which i support btw i don't want it to sound like I'm ragging on him here. it's hilarious and I love to see it), kiru makes it more of a point to be useful/helpful to the people around her, and hates asking for help, always so apologetic when she shows that sort of weakness, even for the most mundane of problems. her constant calm demeanor with-- to him-- a facade that has no hints of any underlying emotion or frustration, paired with a happy relationship and stable career path puts kiru at the end of a puzzle he can't solve. she seems to have it all, her expression and demeanor never falter, she never seems to want help from us-- from NEETs, so what gives? why would she hang out with us?
she must be looking down on us, of course. that's the only reasonable conclusion totty can come to. why else would she put up with-- no, enable karamatsu and his cringy antics by helping him study english? why else would she stick around ichimatsu as though she were a little sister herself, playing along with jyushimatsu and doing it all with a smile in what little free time she has? it's gotta be a pity project. obviously she doesn't see us as equals-- and how dare she look down at us like that? doesn't she know how hard it is to try and move on, to graduate from this lifestyle where everyone else just wants to drag you back down? surely not, no family would ever be ashamed of little miss utokyo graduate. he can't see it any other way.
so when kiru, in earnest, tries to tell him he can loosen up a little, that he doesn't have to act that way, that she wants him to just be himself, he gets mad! how couldn't he? it's obvious she just wants more reasons to look down on us, to point and laugh at the shitty virgin lowlife with no job or prospects at his worst. and for what? to feel better about herself? as if she needs more of a reason for that.
i don't have a real roadmap for how this conflict and argument would really happen yet, but i do know it would be a bit early in her relationship with the matsunos, probably a few months before the mayumi incident (around the 1 year mark of her first meeting ichi, and maybe.. 7-8 months after meeting the rest of them properly? and she doesn't visit the matsuno house very often for a variety of reasons, so she and totty have limited interactions up to that point), so none of the matsunos are really aware of her family issues, least of all totty, whom she isn't very close to at this point.
her sort of "blowing up" at him, to me, would be reminiscent of mika arguing with mukai in skip and loafer; by this point, mukai has only really seen the worst in mika, and when he goes to confront her about it, she yells at him because "what the hell do YOU know about me to say that?", since he doesn't know anything about Why she acts the way she does. from there, mukai gets more glimpses into who mika is as a person, more specifically the good parts of her; he sees her at her worst and learns how caring and kind she can be over time, even though the two of them never fully acknowledge the awkwardness between them because they don't really know each other too well outside of a few interactions, but instead have just kind of observed one another.
kiru and tottys relationship follows this path, with him slowly seeing more and more vulnerability in her over time, eventually culminating in the straw that breaks the camel's back during new years after the mayumi incident. it's a series of slow realizations that she's actually much more sensitive and good natured than he'd led himself to believe, that she was looking up to the matsunos more than anything, strange as it was. and above all, that she is a deeply lonely person with a deeply fractured family. of course she knew what she was talking about.
to an extent, I think it frustrates him that she DID have a point and knew what she was talking about, so it would probably take him until a little while after new years for him to really try extending an olive branch to kiru. but it goes well! she was actually quite sad that they were so uncertain for so long, but wasn't sure how to approach the situation in a way that wouldn't upset him. i don't think they ever become like, attached at the hip besties who do everything together the way pb&j are, for example, but they do understand each other quite well and have a good sense of how the other person ticks, which in its own way puts them closer to one another than they may be to other characters already. she would tell him allll the insane stories about what went down at her awful preppy high school and he'd tell her about whatever insane shit is going down with the social circles he runs in, just because they both know the other person is going to understand Why they react how they do in those situations
i need so badly to work more on kirus relations with the other brothers..
