Was looking up every mention of Aurora in the books for the char study piece I want to write about her and my jaw dropped here because I had been misremembering that “She was the only person who he could not dazzle, and he loved her for it.” line as being a Bluesey quote when it’s about Niall and Aurora… yikes @ myself. But really when you isolate just that line it is very romantic and fits the definition of romance we see for the other main couples. Bluesey Pynch and Jordeclan are all structured as 

character A (Gansey/Adam/Declan) who is a social masker and disconnected from the ‘real them’ to some degree in a lot of interactions with the world around them x character B (Blue/Ronan/Jordan) who in Blue/Ronan’s case especially is very authentic and blunt and fearlessly themselves, that’s a little more complicated with Jordan who also has to perform as a version of Hennessy and then kind of find herself outside of that at the same time she starts her relationship with Declan, but she’s imaginative and creative the way Blue and in a less artistic way Ronan are and that proves an “authentic” contrast in a similar way, and she’s a helpful relationship for Declan in some of the same ways as Bluesey/Pynch.

 So understanding that’s a notion and type of dynamic this verse generally paints as romantic, Niall and Aurora’s relationship being a warped take on the formula is pretty interesting! Niall wants to be with someone who sees the truth of him and wants the truth of him, which was Mor who is also too complicated and sharp-edged for him to understand or to give him the type of love he wants, so he has to craft someone both much sweeter who is a more conventional housewife for him, but she couldn’t be someone who agreed with him 100% of the time because she had to be fundamentally different from him and also provide him with the faintest, most easily controlled glimmer of what he liked about Mor’s challenging nature, without any danger of her actually leaving or overpowering him. So Aurora can contradict him or call him out when she says he’s lying about the way Ronan was born, but she can’t truly Challenge him there’s a difference. I do get the sense from the way the brothers talk about her and the few flashbacks to her in that time she was more dynamic and complex pre Niall’s death than the Aurora we meet in trc present, which makes sense based on the mythology, and I don’t see a reason for her to not have an individual personality the same way Mathew and Jordan do although it would still be comparatively muted by her role. 

But basically, Niall wanting the same thing Gansey/Adam/Declan do but not being willing to actually build a recirprocal connection with someone with autonomy and offer them support too. There’s no Gansey comforting Blue after Persephone passes or Bluesey connecting over their similarly curious natures and wants and strange-loving relationship with Henrietta, and also none of their arguments which are honestly quite integral. If Niall’s… well does Niall have friends probably not, but theoretically if he had a male friend who made a comment like Henry’s very unfortunate r*pe joke in BLLB Aurora’s wouldn’t take Niall to task for putting her in that situation at all she would probably just smile along… None of Adam and Ronan’s conflicts or their viewing each other as equals would be able to occur same for Jordeclan.

I feel like seeing how that desire to have someone unconditionally understand you can be warped to the point of not respecting your partners agency or seeing them as a person outside of what they provide you really puts the main relationships into perspective for how they’re different, is what I meant to say. That’s not to say they’re without flaws (and they would be boring if they were), and I think some of the notion that perfect understanding is possible is one I would have liked to see questioned a little more than it is in canon, because I think these relationships provide the chars with types of understanding they crave and Might know them better than anyone else, but that doesn’t mean said understanding is absolute. As much as I love Bluesey I do think it’s fair to point out there’s sometimes a gap between how much Blue is encouraged by the narrative to understand Gansey and how much he has to reciprocate because of some misogyny and classism in the narrative, so there’s that. Or rather I’d say he reciprocates the understanding but less so when it comes to gendered conflicts. I think the ideal version of the Pynch arc in TD3 would be that it’s meant to challenge the notion we should rely on one person / our partner to always understand us fully by making it clear how terrible their communication has become and the gaps in their understanding related to their contrasting life goals and desires. It would actually be a really fascinating thing to deconstruct with them and if it had panned out I think that storyline could’ve been something truly special, but then either because of an audience feedback loop or just Maggie getting cold feat about some concepts, there’s a major backtracking to actually-love-solves-everything, Like, in isolation Adam telling Ronan that he’s the only Real thing in his life at this point and that’s worth too much to let go of is really romantic …. but then if you truly think about everything in the text around it and where Adam is at this point, and your reading a tad more cynically, you could also say that it reads less as high romance and more as a sunk cost fallac- but I digress the point was that Aurora & Niall’s relationship functioning as a mirror to these protagonist relationships is interesting, and there’s more to be said about the Mor&Niall/Adam&Ronan parallel and how it intersects with the comparison but I don’t have the energy.

(Also worth noting that while comparatives exist the m/m relationship is obviously never going to operate under the same gendered lines as the m/f romances and so any of those comparisons would be imperfect). 

TL;DR Niall and Aurora’s romance is a warped mirror of the protagonists (Bluesey Pynch Jordeclan) romantic dynamics in that they show how a relationship built on a similar dynamic premise of desire to be understood could be horrifying if one stops respecting the other party as an autonomous being outside of the understanding they offer them.

Thinking about it more, I wanna expand on my Fallen Angel BBH headcanon, where he fell and became a demon because of Ironmouse questioning if the creator really existed (explained in this video), as well as update my personal headcanons/theories/timeline for q!BBH

Again, this is all my personal thought process, a lot of it is made up/may not makes sense, this is just me making a cool story lol:

Here's where my brain is at-

In her story, Ironmouse became curious in whether or not the creator existed, opening the inner chamber to see for herself. In the end, the image was stripped from her memory and she fell into the abyss below, along with many other angels who wanted to know, and was locked into a box, deprived of all her senses, until Bubi, the then ruler of hell, came along and freed her, wanting her power. She then became the new ruler of hell and.. you can watch her lore videos, they're really well made and she's super interesting

ANYWAYS!... BadBoyHalo :D

Going with the name "Saints of Games", before becoming a demon, Saint was an angelic deity that lived in heaven. He was a deity that revolved around games and luck. Alongside him was Philza, who is the angel of Death (Philza was not there when Mouse opened the chamber)

Being the curious creature he is, of course, he was there to witness Ironmouse opening the chamber, but knew of the dangers and stayed off to the side. So, when he fell down, he was not a part of Bubi's or Mouse's rule (as well as him not liking being ruled over).

Upon becoming a demon, he gained a new name and lost his status of being a deity of games and luck (with luck going to Alpharad and games becoming more like tricks/pranks), but he did not lose his power. Seeing as he resided in the outskirts of hell, most knew to stay away from him, resulting in him becoming very lonely, desperate for any type of interaction.

This desperation turned violent, growing worse as time went on, becoming hungry for food; for power; for soul energy... Until something finally happened.

Seemingly out of no where, he was dragged to the surface, summoned by a group of occultists, BadBoyHalo was pulled to the Earth's crust, against his own will. Unfortunately, they were a few centuries too late, this was not an all powerful demon, ready to make deals and offers- this was an all powerful demon, fuel with rage and hate, disdain for anything and everything that lived.

Atlantis sunk that day. Some random day in 9600 B.C.

Sitting in ash covered, charred ruins of once a thriving civilization, now sat a demon, curled in on himself, crying to no ears but his own. The one thing he wanted, he needed, was gone. And it was because of him.

For the first time in his eternal life, he felt so small; he couldn't stay here. He didn't want to stay here.

Thankfully, he didn't have to.

With the sheer amount of death and destruction he created, it was only a matter of time before one of Death's angel came by.

Philza, surprised to see Saint BadBoyHalo so far from hell, takes him to the Void as a last ditch effort to calm him down. I say "last ditch effort" because Philza tried to handle it there, but BBH was having none of it (they fought, which caused Atlantis to 100% sink)

Reaching the Void, BadBoyHalo was able to meet the Goddess of Death herself, Kristin (we love the goddesses in the household). Taking pity on him, the Goddess of Death, decided to help, healing his shattered soul and giving him purpose. While not fully whole, it was a start. From that moment on, he now serves as one of her highest ranking reapers (one of = there are others -> I see Missa as a grim reaper) BadBoyHalo then has the ability to travel from the Void to the surface, both for fun and for his job.

During this time, after destroying Atlantis, Foolish, a deity who once slept eternally, blessing a lucky few with the ability to come back from the dead, was awakened. He watched Philza and BadBoyHalo leave, but since he could not follow them, he walked the earth to bide the time.

In the background of all this BBH stuff, he is worshiped as a god, feared my many, and more, waiting for cross paths again. Basically, when BBH woke him, it forced a bond between the two that only death could break, but since BBH is immortal... they're kinda stuck with each other...

Eventually, BadBoyHalo finds himself in The War (hunger games), where he meets Cellbit. Instead of killing this small child, they form a pact, a deal-

BadBoyHalo becomes his familiar... temporarily, at least.

Of course, it doesn't last forever, they split paths; Cellbit gets arrested and BadBoyHalo does.. something???

Its during then and now where BBH not only finds Skeppy, but then the two of them manage to get themselves stuck in a timeloop, yet every time it looped, they still managed to find each other.

Skeppy is some sort of gem creature, being said to be made of purely diamond, only killable via extreme heat

To me, Skeppy and BadBoyHalo also form a pact, but it's way stronger than the one Cellbit and BadBoyHalo:

Skeppy is able to live for centuries, able to shift his body into any size and shape he so desires, look through diamonds as if they were his own eyes, shatter into billions of pieces and get back up again.

BadBoyHalo is constantly hungry, but no physical meal could satiate his hunger. No rare meats or pretty plants, rocks or wood, nothing.

Except soul energy.

In simple terms, Skeppy is a constant source of energy of which BadBoyHalo can eat from, without the worry of killing him. BadBoyHalo can consciously eat it, but he also naturally absorbs it, meaning that if he stays near someone for too long, he'll end up accidentally killing them or at least making them weaker. That's why, when he "pretends" to be the grim reaper, he's constantly telling people to drink water, or how he generally tries to keep people alive, healthy and happy- it lessens the chance for him to accidentally kill them.

By creating this deal, Skeppy gains some of BadBoyHalo's immortality, further becoming a constant fountain of soul energy.

With the idea that Skeppy and BadBoyHalo consistently found the other while in the time loop, I'm just gonna call them soulmates lol

Going back on myself, Skeppy being "a constant fountain of soul energy" is not an exaggeration, BadBoyHalo is considerably stronger the closer they are together. But, seeing as they are apart at the moment, BadBoyHalo is very weak; he doesn't want to feed off the other islanders, Cucurucho and the Code are not options he wants to try (looking at q!Slime being corrupted and q!Forever on the happy pills), so its just a waiting game

Things I don't know how to incorporate at the moment are all the references he makes towards Italy, being whatever happened in Venice and Naples, and anything involving Mount Vesuvius; I don't wanna make any guesses right now while cc!BBH is still dropping crumbs. Unfortunately, this includes anything with the Eggpire, not only do I need to rewatch it, but since it was retconned and cc!BBH said he'd reveal some stuff about it, that section is gonna be on hold for me. On top of that, apparently MCC being at least somewhat canon??? that was mentioned at one point

So instead, here are some little headcanons:

BBH hates being summoned, when he was summoned by Foolish, Cellbit, Roier and Jaiden is a perfect example of this; this trait was passed to Dapper, as she seems to also find it annoying to be summoned at random

BBH will pick up and cradle Dapper and/or Pomme while he sings to them, they find immediate comfort in being held by him

Grim Reapers don't kill, not often at least. They collect souls and guide them to the afterlife. It is the angels of Death that actively kill. This can be seen whenever Missa stands back while Philza kills off mobs. BBH, being a fallen angel/powerful deity, differs from this, as he does both the killing and soul gathering

BBH and Ironmouse never really knew each other as angels, nor as demons, but they could sense that the other was a demon, as well as just use their eyes, Mouse doesn't hide it and BBH is bad at hiding it. Tina, on the other hand, is good at hiding it! Since she has no wings and consistently files down her horns

Whilst wondering the mortal world, there have been times where people have tried to jail or contain him. Tried. Just for fun, BBH enjoys to wear some of the chains from their attempts, almost like jewelry! They make a frightening noise, clinking against each other, but it makes him even more terrifying when he appears without making any noise

Foolish and BBH love to fight, but it usually needs to be on a secluded island or a place very far from civilization because of how much destruction they usually cause

If BBH stands in one spot, the plants around him start to die. In contrast, if Foolish were to walk in the same path, they would regrow.

There are very few that BBH cannot eat soul energy from, some being: Death's angels and reapers (Philza, Missa, etc.) Dapper, Pomme, Tallulah and Chayanne. Everyone else would need time far away from him to recover, hence BBH living underground, far from anyone else

^ Foolish and Skeppy are technically in the same category for "infinite soul energy" but for different reasons

^ Very few eggs can withstand it, only the ones that are children of those who can already not be drained: BBH -> Pomme/Dapper; Philza/Missa -> Chayanne/Tallulah

^^ this means that, like Foolish, Leo has infinite soul energy

The First of Many

The lights around you flickered, their soft warm glow casting a warm ambiance over the cozy little cafe nestled in a quiet corner of the town. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee mixed with the delicate scent of blooming flowers, creating an inviting atmosphere that seemed to cocoon the space in comfort. The sound of other patrons conversing, the chatter of baristas, and the light rain pattering on the window faded into the background as your attention was captured by illustrious blue eyes. 

At a corner table draped in a deep shade of burgundy, you fought the urge to blush for what seemed like the hundredth time tonight. After countless failed talking stages, you’d decided to give up on dating for a while. The woman across from you, however, refused to take no for an answer. After she’d sent a myriad of different colored flowers to your office (you still had them, and smiled everytime you walked into your office), you’d finally agreed to a date. 

You were currently speaking excitedly about your newest project, a sequel to your first book. Agatha's eyes sparkled with genuine interest as she leaned in, her hand gently cupping her chin. "And do tell me, my dear, what intrigues you most about writing stories?"

"Well, I've always been fascinated by stories. The way they transport us to different realms, evoke emotions, and connect us with characters—it's like magic in its own right." You said, running out of breath towards the end of your sentence. You found yourself once more lost in Agatha’s vibrant eyes as they traveled over your face, seemingly memorizing every feature. 

"Ah, magic," Agatha purred with a playful twinkle in her eyes. "A subject quite close to my heart."

You laughed, sipping on your latte as Agatha’s fingers played with the rim of her own mug. Attempting to turn the conversation onto her, you asked, “What is something you’re passionate about?” 

Humming thoughtfully, Agatha sat back in her chair, crossing her arms as she answered. “I’m passionate about my work.” At your gesture for her to continue, she smiled before pulling up a picture on her phone. Turning the screen towards you, she watched your eyes crinkle at the edges as you took in the image of an adorable white rabbit. 

“His name is Señor Scratchy,” Agatha said, putting her phone away and cupping her mug with both hands as she smiled at you. “I work with many types of animals as a veterinarian, and the company I work for specializes in rehabilitation. Unfortunately, Señor Scratchy wasn’t selected by any families, so I decided to take him in.” 

You watched Agatha as she spoke, the walls around your heart crumbling slightly at the soft smile she was wearing. “Señor Scratchy sounds like an amazing friend, you’ll have to introduce me sometime.” 

Blue eyes lit up, and Agatha looked at you for a moment like you hung the moon and the stars. After a second, she coughed lightly and nodded. “I would really like that, and I’m sure Señor Scratchy would love to meet you as well.” She watched you smile into your mug, raising her own to her lips. She’d had enough of talking about herself, and turned the attention back on you with another question about your book.

As you spoke, Agatha watched as your fingers tapped lightly against your mug, the table, and even the rims of your glasses. It was like you couldn’t stay still, your fingers constantly itching to clatter away at a keyboard. Agatha simply adored it, and leaned in, smiling wider at the cute blush that rose to your cheeks at the action. 

You weren’t used to so much attention being thrown your way. With every second that passed, you were grateful that Agatha had put so much effort into asking you out, and you wished desperately to reciprocate. 

“I was thinking, for our next date, I would love to take you to this cute little park. They have plenty of grass and green space for Señor Scratchy to run around, and there’s always food trucks!” You continued to ramble, talking about which food trucks you wanted to try with her as Agatha rested her chin in her hand, watching you with sparkling eyes. 

You paused, having been startled out of your thoughts at the sight of Agatha looking intently at you. “W-what?” You asked, worried that you’d gone overboard. It certainly wouldn’t be the first woman you’ve scared away. 

“You’re adorable.” Agatha simply said, her eyes not leaving yours for a second, enjoying the way that you ducked your head at her compliment. “Already planning our second date, darling, while we’re still in the middle of our first one.”

Your mind latched onto the pet name, and you avoided eye contact as you fought to keep your blush down. Was it getting hot? You were incredibly nervous all of a sudden. A cold hand gently cupped your cheek, and you raised your head with wide eyes. 

“You alright there, hon?” Agatha’s voice was soothing, and her blue eyes held nothing but sincerity. You nodded, immediately missing the physical contact of her soft hands as she pulled away. 

“I hope that wasn’t too forward of me,” You began, pressing your lips together in a shy smile as Agatha shook her head slightly. 

Draining the last of her coffee, Agatha stood and offered you her hand. “I would be honored to go on a second date with you, dear.” She smiled down at you, already mentally clearing any other plans she had for the day. 

Accepting her hand, you allowed Agatha to pull you up, her grip surprisingly strong. She pulled you closer, leaning in until her lips were inches from your ear. “If you’d like, can we start that second date now?”

Pulling away, Agatha watched your face go through multiple emotions within a few short seconds. Surprise, suspicion, excitement, and happiness. In that order. 

Smiling softly, you nodded. 

Agatha smiled, the whites of her teeth showing as she pulled you from the cafe. As you navigated down the cobbled streets, wary of any puddles that had formed from the aftermath of the light drizzle that morning, you found yourself taking Agatha’s hand. 

It surprised you, how comfortable the action felt, and judging by the way Agatha’s hand tightened against your own, she felt the same. As you strolled along the sidewalk, closing in on the park you’d mentioned, the quiet hum of conversation lingered comfortably in the air. 

"Do you believe in first date kisses?" Agatha asked in a playful whisper, a hint of vulnerability shimmering in her eyes. You turned to face her, resting a hand on her shoulder as you pretended to think it through. 

A soft breeze swept through, tousling Agatha’s long brown hair and adding an element of serendipity to the moment. Without hesitation, you leaned in with a smile, your lips meeting in a delicate, tender kiss. It was a fleeting yet electrifying connection that left Agatha’s heart racing and a wild blush on your cheeks.

A stupid smile made its home on your lips, and you felt like cheering when you saw the same smile adorning Agatha’s face. She smiled, intertwining her fingers with your own as she pulled you further into the park, muttering something about food trucks and a grumbling stomach. 

You allowed yourself to laugh, the sound surprising you as you walked. Amidst the echoes of your doubts, a flicker of hope began to burn brighter within your chest. With each step forward, you felt your insecurities fading slightly as Agatha’s smile grew brighter with every glance she stole towards you. Allowing your mind to drift for a moment, you envisioned a future of yourself with Agatha. The only thing you felt was excitement and contentment, filled with blue eyes and laughter and a promise of love. 

“So is this still a first date, or is it now the second?” Agatha asked, her voice playful as you refocused back into the present moment. Her eyes shone as she watched you frown in mock thoughtfulness. 

“Well,” You began, pulling her under the shade of a nearby tree. “This is the official end of our first date.” You lightly pushed her backwards, and she raised an eyebrow at you when she felt her back hit the rough bark of the tree. 

“The first of many, I hope?” Agatha asked, her hands lightly resting on your hips as you wound your arms around her neck. You smiled playfully, pressing your lips against hers in a brief kiss. Pulling away, you grabbed her hand and pulled, laughing at her surprised expression. 

“Of course,” You said, the walls around your heart crumbling completely at the soft look she gave you. The soft sunlight illuminated her features, casting a warm glow that seemed to mirror the newfound warmth in your chest. With a playful twinkle in your eyes, you tugged her towards a small bench, the air alive with the scent of blooming flowers and the soft murmur of a nearby fountain.

As you sat on the bench, one leg pressed against Agatha’s, you let yourself hope. With each soft touch, you hoped. With each stolen glance, you hoped. With each beam of sunlight that dared to touch her skin, and light those dazzling blue eyes, you hoped. And when Agatha finally admitted the extent of her feelings for you, that hope blossomed into something that promised familiarity and content. 

And you wouldn’t have it any other way.

Owl Reviews Stuff She Just Finished: Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright

So yk I didn't know what to expect going into this game, I'd seen really funny dialogue of it and mostly got it because I was extremely hyperfixated on Layton. But I did NOT expect such an emotional rollercoaster of a game with themes that tie into both Professor Layton and Ace Attorney and utilizes the strengths of each series so efficiently. I did not expect this game to make me cry. I did not expect this game to become one of my favorite Professor Layton AND Ace Attorney titles. But it did so I have to talk about it.

With two successful IPs on the cover this game could have easily been halfassed but every corner of it is full of passion for both titles. I mentioned before how they build off and complement each other and I think that's a result of the people working on this game having an in-depth knowledge of what makes PL and AA work and what their shortcomings are.

For example (I mentioned this in the liveblogs but may as well repeat myself here) Ace Attorney games are often limited to just the courtroom and investigation, not to mention you're not going to see 90% of the characters ever again after the case is done. This is serviceable for the kind of game AA is but it makes the world itself feel a bit uninteresting. However Professor Layton games have you confined to one town and make you explore it in depth, with recurring background characters who all have different (yet basic) personalities. Because of this, the Layton segments where you walk around town become crucial parts of the game where you can interact with future or past witnesses as they go about their lives, making these witch trials feel like they're taking part within an actual community, which make the emotional beats in the trials hit REALLY hard.

In turn, AA strengthens PL by adding variety. Layton games can be a bit monotonous if you're not engaged since the gameplay mostly consists of talking to people and solving an occassional puzzle, and there's a lack of interesting smaller mysteries to keep the audience engaged while they work on solving the bigger ones. But Ace Attorney games thrive on side stories, they're what make the trials so interesting! So by adding the smaller mysteries in the form of witch trials and mixing in clues about what the Hell is going on in Laberynthia you make a much more dynamic story that never feels like you're getting nowhere.

Enough about story structure and nerd stuff like that though, let's talk characters!

I love the main four and have always loved the main four so I'm not gonna talk abt them. The original characters for this game were freaking amazing. I see a lot of people really dislike Espella (which is understandable since she's probably the weakest of the cast) but she's pretty alright imo. She's going through a lot of things with the entire town despising her and [SPOILERS] so it makes sense why she would act the way she does, even then I feel like most heartfelt moments with her were a bit forced, which kind of lessens the impact of the last scene. I LOVE the relationship between her and [ANOTHER SPOILER] as well as the dynamic she has with Maya though.

I LOVE BARNHAM. He's one of my favorite prosecutors, he may not have any deep angst or trauma like so many of my favs do, but he's just a well meaning dude who thinks he's doing what he needs to to protect his town, even if it means casting wiitches into the flames. He also goes through a little character arc of his own where he also starts to bend the rules, the only laberynthian to do so. It's fun. Barnham is my best friend.

Unfortunately I can't talk about Darklaw or The Storyteller without getting into spoilers but basically: I love Darklaw and think she deserves the world, I'm on the fence about The Storyteller and feel like parts of his character were extremely rushed.

The secondary characters are also great, you have your classic goofy witnesses but also some really heartfelt characters and relationships in the trials, this is nothing new for Ace Attorney but when you include the conscious knowledge that these characters are going to be cast into the fire then these mini stories are enough to move me to tears (Looking at you, Golden Court).

Anyway, overall a fantastic experience that caught me completely off guard. No notes. I give it 10 burning witches out of 10.

Like it says here, she and Henryk were the ones helping Byrgenwerth, descending from the families with close ties to ancient cultures and having a lot of knowledge under their belts (as well as personal interest)! Both of them are not very talkative outside of "important" stuff. However, every time they do speak with each other it is very agreeable, fulfilling and positive experience! They share a lot in common and understand each other's struggles and fears effortlessly!

Djura was a person she respected a lot, especially for being the fellow denier of magic using, unlike the rest of Old Hunters that enjoyed arcane weapons, Moon-granted powers, bells, etc etc. That's why Powder Kegs were "heretical"! They both only relied on their skills, only he also was a great engineer! She considered straight up joining Oto Workshop (remains of which later became Powder Kegs) but did not like what their fixation on fire was unfortunately bringing in her. She has the secret pyromancy power, you know x)

^ The fact that concept art features a Charred Hunter similar to Djura with a rapier and one of Powder Kegs weapons imitates a Cainhurst weapon makes me consider the idea that Maria and Djura knew each other even before the Hunters stuff! I will examine this idea later, but them being old friends is an appealing idea! In either case, for her Djura was like that one "cool mutual" who instantly gives you self-esteem boost if they like your post! xD Djura was yet to undergo his character arc at the point Maria's resolve as a hunter cracked after Fishing Hamlet though, so his (former) feverish hatred to the beasts made her trust him less. She already got burnt when Gehrman somewhat harshly didn't understand her faltering and didn't want to risk getting judgement from Djura, the second person she admired, too.

Gratia is a cousin that Maria never learned of, as Gratia was discarded since birth (born same kind of Pthumerian-Human hubrid as Snatchers)! It was rather lucky to still meet within Old Hunters as adults. Maria felt quite comfortable with her, coincidentally getting sense of 'older sister' figure from her that she missed after parting with Annalise! Even though Gratia and Annalise are nothing alike of course x) But a much more stronger, more bold and confident, and more tall woman is something that allowed Maria to connect with her softer side, especially when Gratia would straight up pick her up in a (too tight) embrace when she congratulated her with something, or expressed vocal wish to "protect" her!

Matias (Blood Minister from intro cutscene) used to double as a bar man at the times when alcohol was still relevant in Yharnam, so she interacted with him outside of the hunt enough! She needed a glass sometimes, okay? xD He is a curious person though and prefers to get under facades and see what people are really made of, so he abused being sober while she was drunk to ask her about her feelings on various topics and people, or pry on her secrets. She was so stoic and reclusive, he just wanted to know who was the person under the Hunter role! Very crooked of him, but at least he didn't use drunk secrets of others for evil, he is Just Like This lol. He eventually felt guilty for being so shady though. As one of the first Old Hunters who started to experience the potential drawbacks of the hunt and blood (losing legs capacity, blindness, having to amputate fingers etc), he also was one the first to get in a wheelchair. Maria was so nice and helpful to him despite him becoming "useless", he should have been nice too, this old nosy bastard.

Maria and the Healing Church

Laurence... Alright, heeeere we fucking go again with my beloved image that is a pillar for many of my headcanons:

Maria and Laurence are not blood-related (at least as far as great-grand parents go, I didn't develop centuries of family tree!), but saw each other since younger age! They were not close though, as Laurence travelled and studied abroad in his kid and teen years! Whenever he visited, it was also not more than simple exchange of news at the dinner in a group of people. Maria and her squad (Annalise, Crow and King) knew him as arrogant asshole with inflated ego, but he returned in Maria's life in Byrgenwerth era, as admittedly more charismatic and pleasant person than before.

They managed to patch up years of awkwardness and distance and became friends, especially since he got along with Gehrman quite well! ...but then he decided that HE was special, and HE could tame the holy blood when Loran and Pthumeru Ihyll failed 🙄 Maria was more by the side of Caryll, Rom and Willem on the big bad academical infighting! She argued with Laurence a lot. When he convinced Adeline that letting him surgically alter her body to produce holy blood was a good idea, Maria straight up could not handle it maturely. It is a long one to go into but Laurence already tugged some unexplainable sense of fear and hesitation in Maria. She felt like his influence somehow was everywhere (not she alone, actually) and she never could stand up against him properly, but "losing" Adeline was the very peak of the sense of helplessness. She wished she reacted more maturely and her weakness only proven Adeline that Laurence was more reasonable trustworthy (owch.....), but in either case, since then a HELL of passive aggression and coldness followed between Laurence and Maria.

....and then, they somewhat broke the ice in Research Hall arc, after Maria abandoned the hunt and could at least entrust in evolution through Eyes and Stars. They both figured they took bad turns in life and there was no point in lamenting the past, they still needed to save what could be saved. They finally had pleasant, albeit very bitter-sweet interactions after years of mutual vitriol. However, I am considering a very dark idea of Laurence seeing that Maria was bordering suic1dal moods and not only letting it happen, but even "encouraging" it in secret, as he wanted her out of the way before commanding Cainhurst massacre. No, he knew that he had her will broken and she would just let him do it, he was not scared. But he... didn't want it. He figured it was a better way to go for her as someone who still believed she could atone for her sins, rather than living to reach complete state of helplessness. He "allowed" her one last "choice" in her life.

Fucked up concept, fucked up concept, I know.

With Brador relationship was a bit strained, but they were more of friends than Maria and Laurence. At least, she was not feeling so inexplicably cornered by him with all her might as a warrior, nor Brador was trying to scare her into being hush. He believed she was smart enough to not get herself or her friends into more trouble, albeit always felt bad for her kind, honorable nature. He knew he was an opposite of her, completely drenched and even reveling in disgraceful crimes he was doing to help "smarter people" advance. But, Maria pleaded with Brador to get a word out from her to Laurence, to pay attention at the weird actions of Doctor Micolash at the Research Hall and why patients kept suffering and diving into 'Sea', and Brador listened to her. It is quite a confession from Brador to go against Laurence for someone, and Maria knows this. They'd have very deep friendship under better circumstances, I think.

Vasylissa (White Church Hunter) is another character Maria saw often! Technically, Maria replaced her as an overseer and caretaker of Research Hall in the end. Even before that, Maria appreciated this person and was always relieved to find her in Grand Cathedral praying instead of Laurence. Vasylissa at least remembered to "fear the blood" much better than everyone else in the Healing Church. Very arcane-leaning, very should-have-stayed-in-Byrgenwerth person that helped Maria to feel less alone. They exchanged everything they knew as well as had many heart-to-hearts, and Vasylissa considered themselves to be good friends.. She was one of the people who cried and blamed herself when Maria was gone. I also like to play with an idea that Maria would like to approach her romantically, but noticed someone else had eyes on her - that Black Church female Hunter who guards her! So she decided to step back.

Ludwig was also a person with whom Laurence and Healing Church stuff didn't sour the things with! Heck, the guy loved what Laurence represented more than himself, and mostly was just fixated on the hunt (and his 'Guidance', but that was a secret!)! They are both knightly and full of honour, naive and kind but ruthless in battle! I even wrote a post of headcanons of them as a pairing once ( x ), but everything said in that post still applies minus the dating bit :') They were good friends that vented and could comfort each other, they disagreed on the same Healing Church's antics, they had friendly sparrings, they kept each other in mind upon separation and stocked up things to share with each other when they'd meet next..

I think when Maria went from 'magic bad humanity good' to 'maybe there IS some hope for humanity in pursuit for Stars and Moon 🤔', Ludwig showed Holy Moonlight to her. He was a little reluctant and jealous considering it, but could not see Maria so doubtful and lost. If sharing something so intimate could've helped her to finally make sense of her conflicts, then so be it. Only.. it made things worse, because Maria saw that the violence and murder was in the plans of even the Great One that was advertised by Laurence and the others as the way to help humanity!

Maria and Cainhurst

This is the part where I unfortunately have to restrain myself, because there is so much to unpack that, like I said, I still have a separate ask to work on this!

But, Maria had sort of a friend group since childhood with Annalise (half-sister from her cheating father), Eidinghardt (Bloody Crow of Cainhurst) and Elias (King)! Her relationship with Crow were the closest of the group, as the two were like siblings! They were fighting a lot but not in a toxic way, more like the typical siblings banters! Maria additionally pinched Crow's cheek or invited him for a nice fist fight when they were kids and Crow constantly made Elias cry, or was rude towards Annalise! He was an asshole, and she was an anti-bully ranger x) Yet, whenever it subdued, they were playing together a lot and getting into trouble together. Crow was very jealous when Maria decided to leave Cainhurst, like... I would not surprised of the 'straight up clinged to her leg and dragged after her across the floor' situation fdshhfd For people that fought a lot he felt only she truly understood him, and he never quite recovered from realisation that Maria might not really felt the same, even if she did love him too.

Elias was very gentle person when he was growing up, and could only really turn to Maria to hide from judgement for "shaming" his noble family. She was there for him during both of his most hardcore conflicts with Annalise (who was and is extremely hard to earn forgiveness from), and believed in him when he decided to become a warrior too. Annalise, like I said, Maria found a comfort in, lacking a mother figure and instead seeking a woman to turn to in older sisters figures. But also, Annalise gave her chills sometimes! She never dared to lie to her or break a promise to her- and she did see what happens on example of Elias. At the same time, Annalise was so reliable, someone Maria could share her problem with and just know that Annalise will help...

( Fainted, the PROTAGONIST)

[ - Fainted is, of course, our beloved yet unfortunate protagonist of this tale. He's THE player character after all. He's one of the many sentient NPCS that Fiend often torments. Fainted is very attached to his Pokemon, specifically his Umbreon, Charred ! He often keeps to himself, becoming the punching bag between the cast. You'll often find him conversing with his Pokemon as if they speak to him. . .

( Silver, the RIVAL )

[ - Silver is a very confusing person. Fainted tries to understand him, and oftentimes attempt to befriend him, but that's usually shot down by Silver's snappy attitude. After realizing Giovanni's NPC had corrupted, Silver sought-after new purpose. . Eventually, he encountered him. He spoke to Silver about a new World, one where the screen held no boundaries. Such forbidden knowledge terrifies him. Unintentionally, he finds himself seeking Fainted as a distraction.

( Lyra, the Side-Kick )

[ - Like Fainted, Lyra keeps to herself. Though, the more you get to know her, the more you realize how bubbly she truly is. Lyra absolutely adores Pokemon, specifically Pokemon she finds cute. She likes to drag Fainted into the tall-grass and search for cute Pokemon. She's more outgoing than Fainted, and is typically the reason why he's even outside in the first place.

( Fiend . )

[ - The EX-Champion of Kanto. An incident involving his Pikachu resulted in his AI merging with the Game's Generative AI. The downside of such a tragedy is that Fiend is trapped on Mt. Silver due to the last player soft-locking him there. With every loop, he seeks freedom from the shackles. Although trapped, Fainted will always eventually free him. Intentional or not.

(RELATIONSHIPS)

- FAINTED

Fainted & Lyra: Best friends! Lyra sticks to Fainted like glue. Fainted is fond of her, as she's the only person besides his Pokemon to actually talk to him.

Fainted & Silver: Their relationship isn't the best, but certainly not the worst. Fainted REALLY wants to be friends with Silver, however Silver is a bit hesitant on the idea (Though, he won't admit that). Whenever Silver comes to Fainted, Fainted is quick to welcome him with open arms.

Fainted & Fiend: Troubled. Fiend lacks the ability to make genuine connections. He sees Fainted as a copy, which often results in Fiend killing Fainted's Pokemon or Fainted himself(The death of his Pokemon often results in Fainted taking drastic measures to express his grief.)

- LYRA

Lyra & Fainted: Again, they're best friends. Lyra sees them as an inseparable duo. She's also aware of Fainted struggling socially, and goes out of her way to help him improve.

Lyra & Silver: Lyra respects Silver at most. She doesn't appreciate him pushing Fainted around though, and will stand ground. This has resulted in Pokemon Battles being done in the most random places. .

Lyra & Fiend: Lyra is unaware of Fiend and Fiend is unaware of Lyra. Simple as that !

- SILVER

Silver & Fainted: Silver refuses to admit it, but he's definitely grown fond of Fainted. Although he "bullies" the other, he tries to mean well. Surely it'll teach Fainted to toughen up, right ?

Silver & Lyra: Their relationship isn't interesting, but as said before they respect each other.

Silver & Fiend: Their dynamic is more complex. Silver was the first to actually learn of Fiend's existence through tales of the forbidden Champion, waiting for challengers on the summit of Mt. Silver. Failing to actually beat Fiend, Silver strives to get stronger. He tries to see Fiend as a mentor, but he's feels conflicted everytime the old man rambles on about a different world.

- FIEND

FIend & Fainted: Fiend despises Fainted with every fiber of his digital body. He's aware of Fainted's attachment to his Pokemon and will usually go for his Pokemon. The only thing Fiend will thank Fainted for is for freeing him from the summit with every reset.

Fiend & Lyra: They don't know each other.

Fiend & Silver: When Fiend had met Silver, he was still stuck on the mountain. Fiend is also aware of Silver's discomfort towards him, and purposefully informs Silver of the supposed "New World". Outside of that, Fiend plans to take Silver under his wing. Infact, one could say they have a Father-Son type bond, albeit a bit twisted. Fiend for sure sees Silver as the son he could never have.

my timeline for otohana has always been loosely “1) they meet and become friends in gelvaan, 2) ????, 3) profit”, but I have thought about it some more and please consider: Otohan and Relvin are friends first. (headcanon rambling under the cut)

They meet when they’re young, Otohan not even a general yet, but she’s ambitious and little Relvin, very much intimidated by them, is quite confident in their abilities. But he mostly looks from afar, watching this muscly stranger staying with the other soldiers in Gelvaan.

Later, Otohan comes back to Gelvaan, although they’re a general now. Tired and worn out from a recent battle, she needs a place to stay - quiet and comforting, and Relvin is exactly that. He welcomes her, albeit somewhat nervously, and makes her tea while telling her stories to distract her. He tells her stories of his work, of how one of the horses is pregnant now. He tells stories his school, of his teachers, of a purple-haired girl who says hi to him in school hallways. Otohan doesn’t have any good stories to share, their life filled with too much bloodshed and pain, and Relvin isn’t particularly interested in battle tactics, so they sip their tea, block out Relvin’s thoughts, and every so often offer up names for the soon-to-be-born foal.

The next time Otohan visits is during a brief truce between the two warring parties, and Otohan had been looking forward to going back to Gelvaan, a part of her (that she would never admit) missing the boy who had almost become something like a friend to her. Relvin greets her (no longer nervous this time), and he introduces her to his girlfriend, Liliana. Otohan is fascinated with her, with Liliana’s powers (similar to their own - that’s new), with her violet eyes and lavender hair (they smile to themself when they remember Relvin’s stories from a little while ago). But it’s more than that, too - Liliana is inquisitive, bursting with questions (she was just a simple farm girl, after all, desperately curious about the outside world). She was smart, too - when she asked questions about the war, she seemed to instinctively understand battle strategies and the like, and wanted endless details of what happened. Relvin was glad to his his girlfriend and best friend (there unfortunately wasn’t much competition for that title) getting along, and he joked that Otohan may as well steal Liliana away from him, and they laughed, because how could that happen? Why would Liliana want to leave? (Otohan knows why she’d leave, and they keep quiet with a pang of guilt.)

Otohan heard about the fires in Gelvaan, and was terrified. It took her too long to get there, and when she finally arrived in Gelvaan, she took in the wide swathes of farmland withered and charred and raced to the home of her best friend (there unfortunately wasn’t much competition for that title). They arrived, and Relvin welcomed her (this time looking as if bags had been permanently carved under his eyes). He introduced them to his newborn daughter, Imogen, and Otohan (mostly relieved he and Liliana were alive) held her, rocking her to sleep as the two exhausted parents tried to rest.

Otohan wasn’t able to visit for a while, and she tried to pretend the part of her that worried for the Temult family didn’t exist. (But were they well rested? was Relvin less lonely? did Liliana feel more trapped? was Imogen ok? was she like her mother, like Otohan herself?) As soon as the war was over, they rushed to Gelvaan (still reeling from the war, and reckoning with their religion - after all the bloodshed and pain with no reward, was it really all worth it?) and they held Relvin tight - uncharacteristic for both of them, neither of them were physically affectionate people. They sat to talk, drank tea together, and when Otohan asked how Liliana was, Relvin flinched and said nothing. But (like Liliana, which Relvin tried not to focus on) Otohan was Ruidusborn, and she simply had to open up her mind to know what had happened. They promised to try to find her, and Relvin just nodded, and the two fell back into their regular quiet.

Otohan does find her, although she doesn’t bring herself to tell Relvin - she doesn’t actually reach out. Every time she puts a pen to paper, she doesn’t know what to say. What was there to say? “Hello, Relvin. Saw Liliana. She’s doing good, we’re fucking now! How’s Imogen? How’re the crops? The horses? Love, Otohan.” No, that wouldn’t do. So Otohan doesn’t write, and a part of her longed for the quiet comfort that is her best friend.

Relvin, for his part, was not having a good time. His wife left, his best friend hadn’t reached out for years, and he was lonely with no one but a child he might’ve struggled to raise even with Liliana’s help for company. He had long stopped hoping Liliana would ever come back - had long since grown to resent her - but part of him still longed for his best friend to return. And another part of him, the part that he tried to ignore, was the agonizingly cruel humor that all those years ago, when he had joked that Liliana and Otohan would run away together, he might as well have been right.

my thoughts on imas (2011) so far as a LL fan watching it for the first time!!!! even though nobody asked :)

im REALLY enjoying it so far!! liek more than i thought i would. its certainly different from all the love live shows but it still has a similar charm and some REALLY lovely characters. i just finished ep 12 which was an especially nice ep, at first i wasnt really super interested in miki but this episode def pushed her further up on my ranking, shes so cute and i thought the ep was v sweet. by now i feel like it's only gonna go up from here. the past episodes have been great but there were a couple that just didnt hit the mark 4 me, but i have high hopes for whats next :)

my initial favorite was chihaya but im starting to think shes not quite my type? like i like her dont get me wrong, shes just not the type of char im usually into. my current fav is ritsuko, although she's not in the group im like. 99% sure she ends up joining later which i am VERY excited for because i am super interested in learning more abt her. shes so cute and funny and Uuuurfgjgjdjfd KISS ME (does this mean i can call myself a ritsukoP)

as for my LEAST favorite definitely yukiho I'm sorry... not a fan of the "a m-m-m-m-mmmaaann... oh noes.... im so sshyyy and scawed ouuuughh:(( so cutesy and shyyyy uwu" shtick (although the man thing was dropped im still not a fan lolz).

It sounds so good AND IT MAY BE A CUTSCENE kinda like Kazuha’s friend or Makoto’s in the Archon Quests! I’m really hoping we get more lore on our boo boo Dottore he’s just so interesting!!) I also just recently read a VERY lengthy character analysis on him and oh mygskkd. It really helped me get to understand Dottore as a character and how it disapproves of many misconceptions of himself. (Like being a sadist for ex.) if you ever want the link I can send it since it was on tt. And the day I’m writing this it’s Childe’s birthday, which ironically enough my mom also shared a birthday with him LMAO. another thing thats weird for u to look out for is freyr's infatuation w mayura (who's a teen girl). in the anime its not as bad cause he's explicitly a teenager (he gets enrolled in her school with the purpose of saving her mystery club) but it's never said so in the manga so it kind of just looks like a grown man doting after this teen. actually on that, most of the gods are shown in some sort of shippy way with her at least once in the manga. narugami (thor) is probably the most normal occurrence since he's explicitly a high schooler in both the anime and manga. there's a scene where heimdall (who's also like a middle schooler like loki is) kisses mayura to make loki jealous or whatever. just to piss him off.

loki also gets ship bait with a lot of the female chars too like w mayura freyja and skuld. it's. yeah you know how it is

less weird things but just kind annoying plot things that happen are loki getting out of heimdalls assignation attempts with weak explanations and also the author doing the thing where you're assumed to dislike heimdall so the sometimes the plot just shits on him for no reason (there's a chapter where loki and heim get magically transported to a magic school and he spawns in already copying lokis homework and everyone yells at him for it. bro did NOTHING !!!)

i will say that after you get past that first season of the manga it's so much better on the weird bullshit tho ! ragnarok is much better abt it and doesn't have any so bad i recall immediately and shinsekai no kamigami doesn't either. that isn't to say the plots for those aren't kinda sucky too but they're better than whatever the first season put out.

the anime gets rid of sooo much of this weird bullshit and i think does some characters better (heim and freyr get more of a proper emotional bond with each other. as sad as it is i really like what they did with hel and i personally like loki and mayura's dynamic more in the anime) but unfortunately it's majority filler so the manga has a better plot so u kinda just have to decide what you're willing to put up with fsfsfs

actually on that freyja is better written in the manga i think than the anime once again we cannot win both versions just suck. she's still kind of portrayed as loki obsessed in the manga but not to the awful degree that the anime does.

there's the occasional homophobic remarks in the manga but that's few and far between and so i choose to just ignore it.

not fault of the author but also some scanlations have really weird translators notes on some of the chapters too.

as for what's good about it. it's really heimdall and lokis conflict. it's interesting i think because of lokis feelings towards heimdall out of guilt and drives a lot in the first and third season of the manga (it's a little bit forgotten in the middle of the anime lol). i think freyr and heimdall are funny characters and i like every chapter with them in it as do i like every scene in the anime with them in it. they sort of have that odd couple dynamic and it's nice to see heimdall warm up to freyr over the course of the show and become better friends. mayura without the ship bait is also a fun character i think ! she's a mystery obsessed highschooler who loves the supernatural and so she sticks around loki who's a detective a child and an exorcist! thor is also a fun char and he's lokis best friend and mayura's classmate who has a shit ton of jobs. yamino is jormungandr and he's there but to me he's not the most interesting char. i can't say much about the plot without spoilers but it's okay and gets interesting in ragnarok. overall the characters are what makes it fun for me and thus i ignore much of canon and think about them in the vacuum chamber of my mind lol.

but yeah that's my review ig of maloki. it's Not Good but i think if you're looking for something fun ragnarok is an okay read cause the characters are silly in that one and it's not so weird and also has the best plot probably. shinsekai no kamigami is also fun and i think that plot is super interesting BUT like i said its half unscanlated. and then if you're gonna start from the very beginning i would just skip any chapter that has the weird bullshit it's probably not plot relevant anyway. the anime is more lighthearted i think and has more character bonding time but it's also a lot a lot a lot of filler. so yeah.

❤: Which character do you think is the most egregiously mischaracterized by the fandom?

I think it’s between Emily and Aria, and they get mischaracterized kind of in the opposite directions yet also some of the same ones. I think general takes on Emily make her out to be more the nice sweet vanilla one when in the show there are times when she’s really prideful and judgemental and has a lot of repressed anger and abandonment/commitment that can come out in a pretty dysfunctional way in her relationships, and there’s a lot there that’s really interesting to explore imo so her being dismissed as the nice sweet one with no interesting flaws can rub me the wrong way, and then with Aria I think there are times when she gets similar treatment but then a lot of the time fans who hate her either acknowledge her actual flaws but exaggerate them x100 and make them the only thing about her or they straight up invent new flaws she does not have rather than explore the interesting ones in canon. I think in general I’ll lean towards Aria because I think hardcore Emily lovers at least tend to have a good handle on her vs not all hardcore Aria lovers are the same way to me, and also I think Aria’s rep from a general audience standpoint as being the most coddled/ having nothing bad happen to her in the show is like. Very warped view of her character and the show lol. I don’t see people saying that about Emily even if they think she’s uninteresting.

I mean I think Aria as A is a fun idea to explore sometimes and I like exploring her dark side in general, but I don’t think it’s a really plausible theory for the show itself. Aria being on the A team maybe, but not her being A herself operating alone.

Defining this as ships that actively get hate rather than rarepairs or ships that are more polarizing … I like Spaleb more than the average viewer for sure, they’re far from otp status but I find them more compelling than any of the other m/f ships.

hmm… I’m going to say Emily and Richard I love Emily and really like Richard but a lot of the takes on them as actually the in the right party re: Lorelai and later seasons Rory is :// to me.

I feel like in discussions about Rory’s privilege you have her haters who are really un-nuanced about her privilege level and think there is like. Zero difference between how Rory grew up and how Logan or Paris did, and then on the other hand you have her defenders who make valid points about the struggles she did grow up with, but I will say it sometimes really shows when said defenders are white and don’t think about the level of white privilege in things like her treatment in jail the community service, there’s a lot to unpack there and I do think Rory is very much responsible for her choices during that era as much as I am far from a big fan of Logan and prefer Literati to Rogan by a lot I do think when other Rory Stans who are Literati’s try to spin that era as Logan making Rory do everything they don’t like her to be doing it’s a bit infantilizing/taking away her agency and refusing to interact with specific parts of her character. But then I also can’t stand a certain faction of fans who call the female leads of the show out for privilege and white feminism and then hand out cookies left and right to chars like Logan and Christopher for the bare minimum so like, actually discussing how white privilege effects Rory and Lorelai does have an unfortunate slippery slope effect with the wrong kinds of people. This got off topic but basically I think different people are either too critical or not critical enough of Rory re: privilege and types of privilege.

Are we talking opinion most contrary to general public perception or most unpopular according to tumblr opinions? I’ll try for one that I think could count for both as much as I strongly dislike Rory/Dean as a ship I would not write out the infidelity plot in end of s4/early s5 I think it actually worked really well for Rory’s character… there’s narrative framing stuff that I could’ve gone for changing but that goes into like. Dean’s framing over the course of the show being unduly positive. But basically I do think that plot needed to happen.

ok this is such a fun question to answer:))) My fates thoughts are really conquest centric bc that’s the route i play and i’m only on my second run so i may be missing some extra stuff but!!!

It’s the awakening trio everything about them has been making me go crazy lately:) They’re just 3 guys who are soooo inseparable because they fought in THREE wars together and they will never know peace:( the other night i got super emo abt them because there’s so much flavor in their entire situation:) knowing you Have to Leave Everyone eventually is such a good conflict and even aside from that they have so many issues i’ve been super brainrotted over those three lately!! Odin is the most mentally stable and ok of the 3 and i think that’s very funny<3

also they canonically have deadnames. go look at the amiibo lucina convos they’re so 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️

I think they get lucky when it comes to fates writing too, which is a plus:) there’s a reason in my 2 runs i’ve done i’ve s supported laslow and odin respectively!

For ones who Aren’t carryovers from awakening, I like Soleil a lot:) she’s my daughter but unfortunately her supports are Like That a lot. she’s super cute though and i still love her!!

All the nohrian royals are my friends and I like them (their situation is super interesting even if it very rarely comes up. but i’ve seen fic writers make some beautiful stuff out of it!) This is helped by them being really good in gameplay:) I have to give a special shoutout to Leo because he’s the reason i’m not cis

Also I like Niles because he’s awesome. my personal little freak<3 I enjoy his issues quite a lot and if you haven’t seen his warriors support with frederick go watch it it’s very funny. It’s just niles riling him up the whole time :)

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius Japan Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion Event

Recently, the Japanese version of the Final Fantasy Brave Exvius (FFBE) mobile game announced a Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion event.

This includes several quests and banners. The featured chars from this event are all from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion and they are as follows:

Was really excited and happy when I heard that Genesis was finally being added as a playable char to Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for him to become a playable char in FFBE.

Since I started playing FFBE, I’ve been hoping for Genesis to be added to this game. That’s because Genesis Rhapsodos from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (#ad) is currently my absolute, most fave Final Fantasy char.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and Final Fantasy Record Keeper Collab Event

I talk more about this in other posts but, IIRC, I started playing the Global or English version of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius way back when it had a collab event with the Final Fantasy Record Keeper (FFRK) mobile game.

Back then, FFBE was expecting the start of the Neo Visions (NV) era. The first Neo Visions banner to be released will feature Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII and he’ll be known as Cloud (FFVII REMAKE).

Decided to continue playing FFBE even after its collab with FFRK ended since I was interested in the aforementioned upcoming Final Fantasy 7 event.

Also, I saw some of the animated Limit Breaks (LBs) of some of the chars in FFBE, and I thought they were pretty cool. Even the upcoming Cloud (FFVII REMAKE) NV char will also have a CG LB.

These CG LBs may be short but they’re very nice to look at and they even feature a few lines.

This was a very stark contrast to the Global version of Final Fantasy Record Keeper. In the English version of FFRK, the Soul Breaks of the chars aren’t voiced.

But in the Japanese version of FFRK, there are some Soul Breaks that are voiced. This includes some of Genesis’s Soul Breaks.

I’d always hoped that the English version will eventually get these voiced Soul Breaks too but now that’s never gonna happen since, unfortunately, the Global version of FFRK has just ended its service. I talk more about that in other posts.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius Global Version

Anyway, so I started playing the Global version of FFBE. Was able to get NV Cloud (FFVII REMAKE) and a few other chars and such. I talk more about that in another post.

The screenshot below shows that my Cloud (FFVII REMAKE) is now at NV Ex+ 3/3 but that definitely took a while before that happened.

I continued playing Final Fantasy Brave Exvius but I eventually stopped since I got kinda burnt out. IIRC, I stopped playing sometime during or after the Halloween event that featured NV Ibara. That was a long time ago though so don’t remember all the exact details anymore.

I think I also got bored. Just wasn’t having fun anymore. Haven’t even finished playing through the entirety of the game’s story mode yet. Also, IIRC, the game didn’t even have pity back then, which really sucked.

I remember wanting a copy of NV Aerith (FFVII REMAKE) but I wasn’t able to get her because I didn’t have any more lapis to try pulling for her. Even if I had some lapis, there was no guarantee that I’d get her since there was no pity.

Update: it was only sometime after I found my way back to FFBE that I was able to get a copy of Aerith (FFVII REMAKE). Was even able to get her to NV Ex+ 1/3 but, unfortunately, by now, she’s been horribly powercrept.

Was also busy with lots of other stuff, so didn’t really have time for FFBE. And I was playing other games that I found more interesting than FFBE.

Like FFRK has its faults and things that I don’t like about it but at least it has Genesis as a playable char. So if I had to choose, of course, I’d pick the game that has my fave Genesis in it.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and Kingdom Hearts Union Cross Collab

So I just stopped playing FFBE. I still sometimes checked out news about it though.

I mean, if they ever add Genesis as a playable char then of course, I’m gonna wanna play again. I was always hoping for that to happen but it never seemed to.

Much, much later, I remember hearing that Final Fantasy Brave Exvius was gonna have a collab with the Kingdom Hearts Union Cross (KHUX) mobile game.

Was kinda interested in this so kept an eye and ear out for when it would start. When the event in question started, I heard it came with some daily free draws too so I downloaded FFBE again.

The only thing I can clearly remember about the free draw I did was that I got the 5-star version of Sora from Kingdom Hearts.

5-stars have long since been powercrept. There’s no way they’d be used over a Neo Visions char.

Not being able to get any of the featured Kingdom Hearts NV chars (Sora, Rikku, and/or Kairi) quickly made me lose interest in FFBE again.

It didn’t help that my FFBE account was basically the same as when I’d left it. Still didn’t have enough lapis to pull.

I mean, I could continue playing through the story and doing the available events and such to try and get more lapis but I just didn’t feel like it.

So I ended up just deleting the game again. Didn’t bother to try logging in daily to see if maybe the rest of the free pulls will give me something good.

I kinda regret that now. At the very least, I really wish that I’d tried to get the Kingdom Hearts versions of Cloud Strife and Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII.

They’re both only of 5-star rarity although they can be upgraded to 7-stars. Either way, they’re useless but I would have loved to have gotten at least 1 copy of each of them for collection purposes.

Since both are time-limited, I’ll never be able to get either of them unless we get another Kingdom Hearts collab or something.

Unfortunately, another Kingdom Hearts collab event seems unlikely to happen anytime soon or even at all since the KHUX mobile game has also ended its service.

Neo Visions Sephiroth, Tifa, and Aerith

Although I once again stopped playing FFBE, I still checked news about it every once in a while to see if there are any interesting chars that will be added soon or something. Yes, I’m still hoping to see Genesis in FFBE. LOL.

Anyway, I soon heard the news that another Final Fantasy 7 event just started in the Japanese version of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.

The Japanese version of FFBE just got Neo Visions of the following Final Fantasy VII chars:

Sephiroth - known as Legendary Hero Sephiroth in base form, brave shifts to One-Winged Angel Sephiroth

Tifa Lockhart - known as Avalanche’s Tifa in both base form and shift form

Aeris or Aerith Gainsborough - known as Cetra Descendant Aerith in base form, brave shifts to Aerith & Red XIII

The 3 NV chars are all really good. They come with CG LBs and brave shift forms. Tifa and Sephiroth are also supposed to usher in a new level of powercreep.

Ended up playing FFBE again a short while before the aforementioned event started in the Global version of the game. Incidentally, this coincided with the game’s anniversary so there were a lot of rewards and such to be had.

Actually resumed playing through FFBE’s story mode so I could get more lapis to pull on the Final Fantasy VII banners.

The first FFVII banner that showed up was the one for Aerith. Didn’t pull on this banner though because we actually got a free copy of Cetra Descendant Aerith. We also got enough fragments to be able to get Aerith to NV Ex+ 2/3.

It just wasn’t possible to do that right away since her fragments weren’t given all at once. So those who couldn’t wait or who wanted to max her out to NV Ex+ 3/3 could pull on her banner.

Didn’t mind waiting though so I didn’t bother to pull. Aerith was strong but Tifa and Sephiroth were more powerful since you couldn’t get them for free. Both Tifa and Seph are known as “premium” units.

By now, FFBE finally has a pity system. To guarantee a char, you’ll need at least 30k+ to 40k+ lapis.

But to guarantee a so-called “premium” char like Tifa and Sephiroth, you need at least 60k lapis.

There was much debate going on as to who was stronger between Tifa and Sephiroth. Both were very, very similar. 

Tifa deals water damage and is what is known in the game as a TDW (True Dual Wield) type of char. This means she can wield 2 one-handed weapons at once. She can be made to wield only 1 weapon though.

On the other hand, Sephiroth deals dark damage and is a TDH (True Double Hand) type of char. This means he specializes in wielding one 2-handed weapon.

According to some, you don’t really need both Tifa and Sephiroth. You can just pick one of them. But there were also some who were saying that Sephiroth was maybe slightly better than Tifa.

Tifa’s banner showed up after Aerith’s. Sephiroth’s banner was the last to show up.

Neo Visions Legendary Hero Sephiroth Banner

I decided to pull for Sephiroth. Since his banner showed up last, and since Tifa and Aerith aren’t time-limited, it was possible to pull for copies of them while pulling on Seph’s banner. On a side note, Sephi isn’t time-limited either.

So I was hoping to be able to get copies of Tifa and Aerith while pulling for Sephiroth.

I talk more about this in another post but long story short, I was able to get all of them.

Like I said, I didn’t pull for Aerith but we got her to NV Ex+ 2/3 for free. I got a copy of Tifa but can’t remember for sure now if I got her by tossing tickets on her banner or while pulling on the Seph banner.

Also can’t remember if I got any more copies of Tifa. I think I only got 1 but that was fine by me since I’d already decided to focus on maxing out Sephiroth.

Plus, I heard we were soon about to get a Fragment Dungeon where we can get more fragments to max out our chars. So my plan was just to put Aerith and Tifa in the Fragment Dungeon until I can get them both to NV Ex+ 3/3.

As for Sephiroth, IIRC, was able to get my first copy of him pretty early while pulling on his banner. I could have stopped there but I decided that I might as well try to get him to NV Ex+ 3/3.

This will fully max him out and make him really good. And doing this will also undoubtedly help me with clearing more of the content in FFBE that I had yet to do.

Aside from the story mode of the game, there were also lots of trials and other permanent content that I still haven’t done before.

Also need to complete all the time-limited quests that came with this Final Fantasy VII event.

And by continuing to pull on Sephiroth’s banner, I’m also hoping to be able to get chars that I don’t have yet. This includes supports, healers, chars with good TMRs (Trust Master Rewards) and STMRs (Super Trust Master Rewards) and more.

Was able to keep on pulling on the Sephiroth banner thanks to having a lot more content to go through. Just by continuing to play through the game’s story mode, was able to keep getting lapis.

The game’s pity system helped too even if it was really expensive. Was able to get up to 60k lapis which guaranteed me another copy of NV Legendary Hero Sephiroth.

IIRC, spending 60k lapis will get you 20 tickets. You can then use these 20 tickets to exchange for 1 copy of NV Sephiroth.

The exchange shop has a few more copies of Sephi but only 1 costs 20 tickets. The rest of the Seph copies costs 28 tickets. This means needing to spend 60k+ lapis again if you want to pity another copy of Sephiroth.

Didn’t think I’d be able to pity a second copy of Seph but I still kept on pulling on his banner anyway.

Every time I got enough lapis, I’d pull on the Sephiroth banner and hope that I can get more copies of him so it didn’t matter even if I wasn’t able to pity him again.

Thankfully, was able to get more copies of Sephiroth. Wound up being 50 fragments short of being able to max Seph out by the time his banner ended.

The moment the Sephiroth banner left the game, 50 of his fragments showed up in the VIP shop.

Although it cost me a lot of VIP coins, I readily got all of the Sephi fragments in the shop. With those fragments plus all the copies of NV Legendary Hero Sephiroth that I was able to get, managed to get Seph to NV Ex+ 3/3.

As mentioned, whenever the Fragment Dungeon showed up, I made sure to bring Tifa and Aerith in there so, eventually, I was also able to get them both to NV Ex+ 3/3.

Having a fully maxed out Sephiroth really helped me with being able to clear more content in FFBE. Was also soon able to get more chars, like Tifa and Aerith, to help me out.

Thoughts about Final Fantasy Brave Exvius

So I kept on playing FFBE but I was really casual about it and didn’t take it all that seriously. Like I stopped playing through the story mode and didn’t bother doing all of the permanently available content yet.

I focused on doing all of the time-limited events but didn’t let it get to me if there were some quests that I couldn’t do due to not having the right unit or equipment or something.

Also didn’t bother trying to do well or score high in ranked content. I’m perfectly fine with just clearing all the quests once to get the initial clear rewards then moving on to the next quest.

I find Final Fantasy Brave Exvius fun and fine enough, I suppose. And I like how there are a lot of playable Final Fantasy chars here.

But I do find it annoying how the game has a lot of Global exclusive units that are so good that they end up overshadowing the Final Fantasy chars, so much so that it seems like you’re always better off just skipping these Final Fantasy chars and just pulling for the Global exclusive units instead.

In the beginning, I read through all the scenes and such as I played through the story mode of the game. But then I just started skipping the story. I think this started when the Seph banner showed up and I was rushing through doing all the quests I can in order to get more lapis to keep on pulling for Sephiroth.

So instead of bothering to read through all the content, I just tapped on the skip button.

From what I’ve seen of the story so far, it wasn’t really that interesting to me. It seemed like the typical fantasy story.

Rain, the main character, came across as the typical shounen hero. He seemed really cliche. Didn’t really like him all that much.

Lasswell, Rain’s best friend, seemed better but since he was only the secondary char or the sidekick, the focus was hardly ever on him. And even he has his faults.

The dark version of Fina, the main female character, was way more interesting than her light version. But, much to my annoyance, light Fina kept being shoved down our throats instead.

Even before it happened, I already knew that we were gonna have to stick with light Fina no matter what. And, sure enough, events happened such that the dark version of Fina had to disappear for good and we were stuck with her light version instead. Meh.

I talk more about FFBE’s story in another post but the point is that since I started skipping all the story events and content, there are a lot of chars that I just don’t know anything about.

These chars would be featured in banners but they mean nothing to me because I don’t know anything about them. But some of these chars end up being really good so I end up pulling for them anyway since I do want to be able to clear all the content in this game.

I used my NV Ex+ 3/3 Sephiroth until I couldn’t anymore. He was my top DPS for a long time. He was even the first char that I leveled up to 130 when said feature came along.

When Sephi became really powercrept and I couldn’t use him anymore, I ended up with a lot of Global exclusive or Global first chars because they were now the ones who could help me clear content.

I continued taking note of the chars who showed up in the Japanese version of FFBE and who will soon be coming to the English version. There wasn’t really anyone that caught my eye and made me think “must pull for this char” or something though.

And the consensus seemed to be that it was better to just skip these chars and focus on pulling on the Global exclusive ones because they were better.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and NieR Collab Event

So that was what I did although I didn’t always pull even if the chars were said to be good.

Like we recently got a collab event with the NieR game but the 2 featured chars, A2 and 2B, are both premium and time-limited. They received a lot of hype with a lot of people saying they were really good.

But I was reluctant to pull for them. Yeah, they’re good but I found myself thinking about the fact that I’ll need to spend at least 60k lapis in order to guarantee 1 of them.

By now the NV pool is so bloated that every time I get a Neo Visions crystal, it feels like I always end up with a dupe or a char that’s long since been outdated and powercrept and was thus useless to me.

I was so sure that if I pulled, I’ll end up having to pity the NieR chars. If I’m only able to get one copy of them, then I’ll probably only be able to get them to NV Ex+ 1/3, at least for now.

Would an NV Ex+ 1/3 char be better than the chars I have who are already at NV Ex+ 3/3?

It would take me a long time to get the NieR units to NV Ex+ 3/3 since I won’t be able to off-banner them once the collab event ends.

By the time I get them to NV Ex+ 3/3 via the Fragment Dungeon, they might could will be powercrept and outdated and useless already.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius Japan and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion Collab Event Announcement

So I ended up skipping the NieR banner. And I’m really glad I did because it wasn’t long before the Japanese version of FFBE announced that it was gonna have a collab with Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion.

This coincided with the release of the Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion game.

I’m really glad FFBE decided to do this collab. I was also hoping that Final Fantasy Record Keeper and even the Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia (DFFOO) mobile game will also have a Reunion collab.

But the English version of FFRK ended before Reunion was released. I took a quick look but it seems like the Japanese version of FFRK didn’t bother to have any Final Fantasy VII-related events to coincide with the release of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion.

Unfortunately, the same can also be said with regards to DFFOO. Was really hoping that Angeal and Genesis will finally become playable in DFFOO but alas, once again, it looks like that won’t be happening anytime soon. Sigh.

Seriously though, I wonder why DFFOO and FFRK didn’t have any FF7 events and banners to go with the release of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion.

At least FFBE is having a Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion collab event.

NV Zack Fair and NV Angeal Hewley

Initially, the Japanese version of FFBE only announced the arrival of NV Zack Fair and NV Angeal Hewley.

Both of them are SLB chars, meaning they don’t have a brave shift form. They only have 1 form. Depending on their current Ex level, after a certain number of turns, their Limit Burst will turn into a Super Limit Burst (SLB).

Zack is premium while Angeal isn’t. Zack gets a CG LB but Angeal doesn’t have one. Zack gets a really good Leader skill for the lightning element.

And that’s really all I know about these two. LOL. Because to be honest, didn’t really bother taking a look at all the details about them and what they can do. It doesn’t matter because I’m gonna pull for them either way.

So I’m really glad I didn’t pull for the NieR units so I have more lapis for when this Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion collab event finally comes to the Global version of the game.

I’ve been hearing a lot about Zack and how he’s apparently really good so it’s nice to know that he’s usable. Not too sure about Angeal though.

I was disappointed that both of them are SLB. I wish they had a brave shift form like with the other Final Fantasy 7 chars like Sephiroth, Cloud, Aerith, and Tifa. Also wish that Angeal had gotten a CG LB.

I was also secretly hoping that the second week of this event will come with an announcement that there will be another banner and this one will feature Genesis Rhapsodos.

So I was beyond pleased when that actually ended up happening. Hell, yes!

It looks like they only announced that Genesis was coming soon. We didn’t get any more details about him so was free to speculate.

Of course, I really want him to be good. I’ll still pull regardless but of course I want him to be great.

I also really want Genesis to have a CG LB and to have a brave shift form. Maybe he can have his wing out in his shift form. Maybe he can wear his Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 outfit in one form then he can wear his Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII outfit in the other form.

I was kinda expecting Genesis to be a physical fire DPS since that’s what he is in FFRK. They could make him a hybrid char so he can deal both physical and magical damage or something, I suppose.

I was torn on whether I wanted him to be “premium” or not. On one hand, being premium means it’ll be more expensive to pull for him but wouldn’t that also mean that he’ll be really good?

I mean, Zack is premium and he’s good. The same could be said for the likes of Sephiroth and Tifa and even the NieR units. They’re all premium and they’re all really good.

That’s not to say that non-premium chars can’t be good because there are non-premium chars who are really good.

So I don’t know. I can only hope that, whether Genesis is a “premium” unit or not, he’ll be really good.

NV Genesis Rhapsodos

We finally get more details about NV Genesis.

He’s not premium

He’s an SLB unit, no brave shift

He’s a fire mage

He doesn’t have a CG LB

Not gonna lie - was kinda disappointed about this. Well, at least Genesis is finally a playable char in this game.

Still can’t wait for him to get to the Global version of FFBE and will still pull for him, of course. But there are a lot of things I’m disappointed about. I wish FFBE had put more effort into this.

I wish they could have given Genesis a CG LB, even if it’s really short. I wish he could have gotten a brave shift form.

It also sucks to know that he seems to be locked to the fire element. I get why he’s a mage but I’m kinda miffed about that too because mages aren’t that good in this game. Well, there are a few good mages but most of the best DPS are all physical.

At least it looks like Genesis is actually good. He’s being compared to NVA (Neo Vision Awakenable) Black Mage Golbez for having a Meteor-like ability that makes use of his magic and MP to deal damage.

The problem is that this ability of Gen’s is locked to the fire element while Golbez’s Meteor is not. Meteor can be imbued with any element so Golbez can easily fit in any team.

I’m really hoping that when Genesis gets added to the Global version of FFBE, he’ll be updated to also have the Meteor ability.

There are some chars who’ve been upgraded so it’s not impossible but I know it’s not that likely either. Still, let me hope and dream, okay? LOL.

Neo Visions Genesis Rhapsodos Sprite Animations

Dazzling Demoness Vision Card

I’m really sad that I missed out on the Dazzling Demoness Vision Card. This Vision Card (VC) gives +500 MP and +120 MAG. It also has the following effects:

Increase MP and MAG by 100%

Increase static MP and MAG by 500

Increase physical and magic damage against aquatics and insects by 100%

Decrease MP used by 50%

The above effects applies to all chars while the ones below will only apply to FFBE units:

Increase chain modifier cap by 100%

Increase equipment MAG by 200% and accuracy by 25% when single wielding any weapon

Dazzling Demoness must have shown up twice or so by now but each time it became available, I never bothered to try and get it.

I didn’t think I needed it. This is apparently a really good VC for Golbez but my own Golbez is only at NVA Ex+ 2/3 so haven’t bothered to use him over my Nv Ex+ 3/3 chars.

But, as it turns out, Genesis wants this card too. Argh! If only I’d known that while the banner that featured this card was up. Sigh.

Now I’m hoping that Dazzling Demoness will come back again. If it does, I’ll definitely get it this time for Genesis.

Genesis does have his own Vision Card. It has +130 MAG and the following effects:

Increase MAG by 50%

Increase LB damage by 25%

Increase static MAG by 500 (only applies to FFVII units)

Genesis’s own Vision Card should work well enough for him, but it does seem like Dazzling Demoness is way better. So I’m really hoping that it comes back or that we get another Vision Card that’s even better than Dazzling Demoness.

Dark Visions Abyss Dark Weapon

Genesis has his own sword but I heard that the Dark Visions 2-handed Abyss Dark weapon sword was better for him.

Genesis’s 2-handed sword comes with +140 ATK and +234 MAG as well as +50% accuracy and 1.25-1.75x variance or damage modifier. It also has the following effects:

Increase physical and magic damage against humans and machinas by 75%

Increase static MAG by 500 (AFAIK, this only applies to Genesis)

The Dark Visions 2-handed sword is known as Dark Walküre and it comes with +202 ATK, +405 MAG, +50% accuracy, and 1.25-1.75x variance.

The 2-handed Dark Visions weapons cost 10k Dark Matter each. Right now, only 3 are available. Aside from Dark Walküre, we also have Dark Murasame and Dark Wonder Wand.

Dark Murasame is a 2-handed katana with +405 ATK while Dark Wonder Wand is a 2-handed staff with +405 MAG and +202 SPR.

The suggestion was to go for either the katana or the sword. The sword can be used by the likes of Golbez while the katana can be used by multiple chars, including Sephiroth.

I ended up going for the katana because I heard that Sephiroth was gonna get an update soon so I thought I might be able to use him again. This was way before we got the news that Genesis was gonna be coming soon as a playable char in FFBE.

I ignored the sword since, as aforementioned, my Golbez wasn’t fully built and, IIRC, he was really the only one who was viable enough for the sword.

So I thought I was better off getting the katana since more chars can make use of this. For instance, my NV Ex+ 3/3 Samurai Chizuru, one of the DPS that I’m currently using, can also make use of it.

But after hearing about Genesis and how good the Dark Walküre was for him, I regret going for the Dark Murasame. Because now I don’t have enough Dark Matter to get the Dark Walküre.

Dark Matter can only be obtained by playing through the Dark Visions and/or World Visions events. We only get this kind of event like once a month or so. If you rank high in these events, you can get more Dark Matter.

But since I never bother trying to rank high, I only get a few Dark Matter at a time. Now I’m trying to put a bit more effort whenever we get a Dark Visions and World Visions events but it’s really hard since I don’t have a lot of chars and equipment.

At the time I’m writing this post, I managed to get back up to 7390 Dark Matter so at least it looks like I might be able to get the Dark Walküre before the Genesis banner gets here. Hopefully, anyway.

After buying the 2-handed katana, I was down to like 2k-3k Dark Matter so it seemed near impossible to get back up to 10k in order to get the sword.

NV Cissnei

Welp, just realized that I forgot to talk about Cissnei. LOL. Like with NV Angeal and NV Zack, don’t really know much about NV Cissnei.

Apparently, she’s a free unit so we can easily get her to NV EX+ 3/3 which is great. But since we get her for free, she’s likely not that good.

Plans for Upcoming Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion Collab Event

Definitely gonna pull for Genesis, of course. Hoping to be able to get him to NV Ex+ 3/3 on the first day that his banner drops.

I think I’ll just skip the Angeal and Zack banners for now. I can just hope to get them while pulling for Genesis on his banner.

Or maybe once I get at least 1 copy of Genesis, I can go pull on the Angeal and Zack banners and hope I can get at least 1 copy of them without having to spend too much.

Then again, the NV pool is so bloated by now that you’re more likely to get an off-banner trash unit as opposed to anything good whenever you pull. At least that’s what it feels like for me.

Like I’ve lost track of how many times the old version of NV Rain has trolled me. Already have my first copy of him at NV Ex+ 3/3 so it feels really bad whenever  I get more copies of him.

On the other hand, there’s still a lot of chars that I don’t have yet but I never seem to get them.

Anyway, for now, I’m refraining from pulling on any banner. Ideally, I’ll be able to keep on saving until the Genesis banner gets here but if the Dazzling Demoness Vision Card ever comes back, then I want to pull for it.

And if there’s a char or Vision Card or something that could be good for Genesis or that could support him and make him even better, then that could tempt me to pull. Might also need to pull to update my current DPS and supports.

So just need to make sure that I have as much lapis as possible for when Genesis’s banner gets here.

Right now, I have around 148,165 lapis on hand. So far, have been able to avoid pulling on banners. We’ll see if I can keep that up.

Really looking forward to the Crisisi Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion event. Can’t wait for it to get to the Global version of FFBE. Want to pull for Genesis already, damn it. LOL.

Alrighty then, I finished watching Gundam: The Witch from Mercury’s season finale yesterday, so I’m gonna note down my thoughts here, starting with characters, with another post about the mobile suits.

Spoilers ahead, obviously.

I really enjoyed the progression of Suletta and Miorine’s relationship during the season. It had a lovely slow-burn with moments of extreme heat quality to it (if that makes sense as a metaphor), particularly episode 11. The other members of Earth house are absolutely charming as well, them each having a solid personality to get attached to. I was disappointed we didn’t see a little more of them, but I expect they’ll be much more prominent in the next season. I was pleasantly surprised by Chuatury Panlunch, who’s just wonderful to watch and I enjoyed what little we saw of Nika Nanaura (though considering Chuchu’s getting a new suit next season, we’ll definitely be seeing more of them).

I did love the contrasts between the parents this season, with the outwardly nice Madame Prosepera/Elnora Samaya being contrasted with the aloof and standoffish Delling and Harsh Vim Jeturk, who nonetheless love their children (though I admit I may be reading into the season finale a little much there). I was honestly kinda sad to see Vim go, just because the Jeturk’s have just been so interesting to watch and the loss of one is unfortunate. Though this does mean that Guel’s younger brother Lauda is now head of the company.

Which, if I’m being honest, seems like it’s gonna end really badly.

Talking about the Jeturk’s neatly segues into talking about the rivals - Guel, Shaddiq and Elan. I’ve been absolutely loving Guel’s arc this season, with his actions during the finale being (while horrifying) an absolute standout. I’m very much looking forward to seeing where he goes from here (and I really hope he doesn’t die). Shaddiq’s been interesting, and I find it notable that he’s been basically dominating the scene except when he’s in a mobile suit, where he gets absolutely wrecked. I do hope we get to see more of his entourage in subsequent seasons though, since they’ve only really been stomped by suletta so far. Of note is that so far he appears to be the only character to have a genuinely positive relationship with his father, which is interesting.

Elan is difficult to talk about, principally because there’s three of him (so far). Number four (the first one we see) is only around briefly and while lovely, exists mostly as a sacrificial lamb to establish the darker tone. Number 5 (the manipulative one) hasn’t done all that much yet, so I have little to say about them. The original (the one in the suit) has officially dethroned Delling as the villain I most look forward to getting their comeuppance. We also haven’t seen that much of Peil’s CEO’s yet, though at a guess I’d say they’re the bigger threat here.

Now just some other observations that don’t really fit anywhere else:

While Dawn of Fold is interesting (since we’re finally seeing some more Earthican representation), I care more about the individual characters (Norea Du Noc, Sophie Pulone and Naji Geor Hija) than their actual cause, at least for the moment. Again, very much looking forward to seeing more of them, and their relation with Nika (Though I do fully expect at least two of them to die horribly at some point).

I was very happy to see Kenanji Avery (the antagonist from the prologue) make a return, even though I’m absolutely certain he’s going to die at some point.

I really wanted to like and trust Lady Prospera/Elanora at first, but eventually the manipulation and Char vibes just got too strong.

Speaking of, I do suspect that Suletta’s whole “move forward gain two” mantra might be a blockword or trigger phrase or something, given how utterly Gung Ho she is about killing people during the final parts of the finale. Then again, I suppose she could just be applying what her mother’s taught her without fully thinking about the consequences (really girl, don’t try to be all romantic while you’re covered in blood). I did love the symbolism of her mother leading her onto the bloodstained floor though, that was really great.
