The average voter has a lot of power in American elections. Not as much as if we had a proper democratic voting system but still quite a lot.

One state can swing the Senate, a few districts can swing the House, and every single vote for president matters.

That's why we "scold" about voting third party or sitting out—those choices are what gave us Trump in the first place, they're what gave us George W. Bush.

Like Hilary Clinton is too centrist by far, way too hawkish, but she would've strengthened healthcare, not tried to repeal the Affordable Care Act 60+ times. She wouldn't have banned Muslims or stolen immigrant children from their parents or denied disaster aid because a certain state didn't vote for her.

But Trump did, and he'll do far worse if he gets a second chance because that's what terribly narcissistic, corrupt people do when they are threatened but manage to return to power—it's certainly what Benjamin Netanyahu's doing.

What's a little genocide and maybe starting a regional war if it keeps him out of jail? Trump had a nuclear dick-measuring contest with North Korea when he was safe, for fuck's sake. God only know what he'll do now.

Allowing him to come back to power—directly or indirectly—punishes the entire world. Nader voters thought they were "punishing" Gore for not being sufficiently pro-environment—and they succeeded in setting the climate fight back by decades.

Millions died in Bush's forever wars. How many have died because we elected him instead of the boring Democrat who is still obsessed with climate change? How many more will die if Trump gets his way on climate?

I’ve noticed that, when Metatron mentions the Second Coming, it’s like Aziraphale freezes. At that moment something changes. His smile drops and he seems mortified. After looking at the elevator and the Metatron, he looks like he’s just realized something. And that’s when he looks back to Crowley. Then, before he enters the elevator, he sighs and puts on a smile. 

So what if, at that moment, Aziraphale realized he has no choice but to go? Heaven’s planning the Second Coming. He wouldn’t have known that if he hadn’t said yes to Metatron’s offer. The Metatron said they’ll need someone who knows how Earth and humans work, and that’s Aziraphale, so he believes that, as someone well-versed in Earthly matters, he'll have insider knowledge about what precisely the Second Coming entails (whether that's true or not is a whole different thing). So now, he has to go, even if he doesn’t want to, because he has to know what they’re planning. Because the Second Coming includes a complete transfiguration of the universe. And so when he hears this, he’s asking himself what does that entail? What will happen to the Earth? And to the humans? And, most importantly, what will happen to Crowley? He knows he can’t protect Crowley if he stays because he would have no idea what Heaven is planning and what exactly will happen. So he goes to Heaven. Because that’s the only way he’ll be able to protect Crowley and the Earth from what’s coming. Because otherwise, he wouldn’t have known about anything before it was too late.

I think Aziraphale still has a lot of work to do to break out of the mental framework that Heaven built in his mind. I think he still wants to change Heaven. I think that the black-and-white worldview that has been pounded into his skull is still there and that he's still struggling with it. Aziraphale may be naive and traumatized, but he's not stupid. He's clever and I think that when he hears about the Second Coming, he has a new motive to return to Heaven.

I'd like to tell you all a story about my grandmother.

My grandparents raised their children, four girls (one of them my mother), to be fighters. My aunts marched in Washington for women's rights with babies strapped to their chests and like to joke that all of the grandchildren who came from that line (including myself) were born with picket signs in their hands.

But it started with my grandparents. They fought hard for what they believed in. They marched against Vietnam. They marched for Martin Luther King. They marched for women's rights. They marched for a better future.

But let's talk specifically about my grandmother for a moment.

My grandmother unfortunately passed away in 2016. She had to watch the first Trump election and did so knowing that it would probably be the last election she'd ever see. And there is some argument there that she could have given in to fear and defeatism. She could have decided none of it was worth it, and she could have decided that fascism had won and the world was over.

But she did something else instead.

To give some context, my grandparents had friends who were Republicans. I say were, because they shifted from the normal Republican towards the MAGA Republican we see today. And despite a very clear message from my family about how we felt, they were more than ready to still come to the funeral as if everything was normal. Like their beliefs were normal. Like they were welcome to celebrate someone who had fought so hard for the rights of other people.

These were people who would have absolutely used their rhetoric to scream and shout if they were left out or disinvited.

And so my grandmother, even past her final moments, pulled the most brilliant, petty move I've ever seen.

She'd decided ahead of time that everyone who had known her was more than welcome to attend but that she wanted everyone attending the funeral to donate money. That was the requirement to be invited. And so everyone did just that. There was no talk about what the donations were for, just that they were appreciated. I want to say that the assumption was the money would help pay for funeral expenses and give the family some support while we grieved.

Except that wasn't the case.

Because in those final moments of the funeral, the rabbi stepped forward to thank everyone, and then very cheerfully announced;

"Arlene was so happy to know just how many people were coming to join us here today. She couldn't have been more proud of her family. And I'm sure she would have been elated to see just how much money you all gave today to Planned Parenthood."

When I say that the faces of those people are enshrined in my memory, I mean it. The anger, the devastation, the rage, the betrayal. It was an absolutely gorgeous display of true defeat at the hands of a boss ass old lady who literally fought with her last breath and threw up both middle fingers all the way out the door.

What I'm saying is this.

It is very easy to feel defeated. It is very easy to think that everything is over, and there's nothing left for us to do. It's very easy to say that fascism won, that fear won, that hate won.

But that's only true if you let it be true.

There is always more that we can do. There is a future that is still worth fighting for. And it's more than possible, even when it doesn't seem like it.

And fighting is going to look different every time.

Some days it will look like picket signs in our hands.

Some days it will look like spending time with friends and family and people you love and knowing that you have a community that supports you and your vision of a brighter future.

And some days, it's pulling absolute natural level 20 petty trickster shit even after you've left the world.

Because you can always make an impact and you can always add a little brightness to life, and if that means tricking a group of MAGA idiots into throwing their money behind Planned Parenthood in the middle of your own goddamn funeral then that's what it means.

Keep fighting. People have done it before you. People will continue to do it after you.

And enjoy the little victories.

i don't know what to do about the fact that there are a few people that i follow because i like their content who are vehemently against voting. like i know why there's the sentiment but at the same time, as someone who can't vote, it's pretty fucking hard for me to see people who are not only refusing to do so but who are acting as if both candidates are the same caliber of a problem. legitimately i am worried that if trump is reelected, i'm going to have to leave the country and move elsewhere. it has been proven that his rise to power would lead to the rise of fascism across the world because it happened the last time he was elected.

it's hard for me to see this stuff. i can't even vote and yet i see people who are perfectly able, throwing that away because they're treating voting like a personal statement rather than a decision to make for the greater good.

I am a little concerned that people aren't actually going on the candidates websites and reading their issues pages. Trump has branded his as "Agenda 47" and effectively lays out 47 key issues he wants to address during his presidency. It looks quite awful for the Palestinians and muslims living in the United States currently. It also looks like he's going to crack down on protests and make it harder to organize in support of Palestine.

Here are some pieces I took from his plan that should concern anyone supporting Palestine right now:

Biden banning Tiktok was a direct attack on our freedom of speech and ability to share information about Palestine. However, Trump is promising to bring back his muslim travel ban (which would succeed under his conservative Supreme Court). He will make it just about impossible for any refugees to get into America. It's already difficult for refugees to gain entry, but this is just opening the door to dangerous rhetoric.

American imperialism cannot be fixed in one presidency. That $95 billion foreign aid package that included $26 billion to support Israel was passed by Congress, with support from democrats. Biden signed it, but that's not something he can do by himself. If we want real meaningful change, we're going to have to vote for a whole lot more than just the president. Campaigning for third parties is going to have to maintain its momentum outside of election years.

Still, both candidates are supporting this war currently. They are both piss poor choices for a ceasefire. However, they are NOT equal! A Trump win could be devastating, not just for the Palestinians still struggling in the Middle East, but for the Palestinians living at home now. With the courts behind him, Chevron overturned, and a clear plan for Schedule F in place, I cannot seriously humor anyone saying that a Harris would be "just as bad" for Palestine.

"You're so privileged for caring about genocide" is not a take actually.

However, your powers gave you dozens of advantages when around Homelander.

He can be having a meeting about something serious and everyone would be listening to him due to their fear towards him, then there's you who'd be doing your own thing and just shout out unrelated things like "Donald Trump just blocked me on Twitter!! HAH!! SUCK IT CORNFLACKS!!"

Everyone turning to you with startled expressions while Homelander simply rolls his eyes before continuing his presentation.

Example, you two were hiding behind some crates ready to jump on the bad guys who were snucking in illegal drugs. He gestured for you to wait as he went to check again, only to turn back to see you gone.

"Marry Christmas motherfuckers!"

He heard your voice shout and he found you standing on top of the stacked crates, machine gun in hand and began shooting aimlessly.

He didn't even do anything but just watch until you ran out of bullets. However, multiple survived and began shooting at you so you ended running towards where he's hiding at.

You know the video of the two girls taking off their wigs to reveal that they're bald and they start bonding over it? I'd like to imagine that's you and Black Noir with the skin condition under the suits.

One more scenario I wanna add, you guys could be having a meeting but since you were bored and you always hated meetings, you'd draw a big heart on a piece of paper and show it to Black Noir from across the table. Surprisingly he'd draw a heart back to you.

You were overjoyed so you began to draw you and him doing it, doggy style. He stares at your doodle for a while before choosing to just focus on the meeting instead.

Just as likely they're really just planning on a post-election legal challenge in any or all of those states, claiming that the Democrats stole the election. If they can find a way to throw the election to the House, as they wanted to do in 2020, they will win, and I kind of suspect that Trump would actually prefer to do it that way. It's the ultimate power play to make the Democrats lose through a post-election ploy that's engineered by Trump and his cronies. In his twisted mind, I think that would even validate his Big Lie.

Why Donald Trump thinks he doesn't have to campaign against Kamala Harris

Even before President Biden dropped out, I knew this was the plan. It’s been obvious to anyone paying attention that Shitler isn’t running a campaign to persuade voters, but is laying the groundwork for his next coup.

I sure hope the government, the Democrats, and the 80 million of us who aren’t voting for him and his dystopian agenda are prepared to leave it all on the field to ensure he doesn’t get away with it this time.
