While I agree that even though some of us think we know better plans, listening to WGA and SGA is really the only feasible plan right now. WTO briefly touched on how large scale boycotts are borderline impossible if not unfeasible in our current global landscape which is a little terrifying but we move ig. What I will say is...I'm concerned that the messaging isn't as motivating as I'd have hope. Obviously we're in polarizing times but I'm seeing and hearing more and more comments from folks on how they feel HW needs to get over itself and try working "real" jobs. I roll my eyes because how are these fields not real if only for the sheer number of people employed and dollar values of the resources. I don't know if WGA/SGA should start buying soft news spots or 60 minutes but even though it's early, I still have an odd sense the public is largely indifferent or outright denying that anything should be done.
I don't trust any algorithm run by Mark or Elon to not downplay any pro-union posts and TikTok may need to be the game changer. I was reading the other day that Wallstreet feels largely similar and that's why the studios felt emboldened to essentially make goon squad comments and leave the negotiation table. Even with them reshuffling their calendars and canceling an already DOA Emmy's in hope of public outcry (which I don't get; Why would there be a large outcry? Idk the messaging there seems like an overreact), I'm just a little lost on the next steps and I'm chronically online enough to get the main points. Ig that's where I'm struggling a bit because how do you motivate people from a states that just ripped away their health insurance, cut back education funding, and can't find adequate housing and employment to care about a labour movement in areas that have largely been seen as wealth hoarders, pedophile protectors, and just a "fun" industry? Yes, I know that their movement has the chance to change the workforce for everyone if successful but idk know if that messaging has been clear or successful yet. I mean I have bosses who scoff at Panera and Starbucks for offering $18 and sometimes health insurance and say it's a shame because that means we, a university, can hire work study students for exploitative labor at $10...I then have to walk out the room because I have no poker face.
ugh on that last bit (you meant “can’t” right?). Always animosity and a race to the bottom when some people hear about improving labor standards.
I don’t disagree with anything you say! The context I keep coming back to is that every labor negotiation/strike faces similar backlash and anti-union propaganda. I know some celebrities are rich and unsympathetic, and the industry as a whole feels expendable, but the propaganda play being run against SAG/WGA is just the same old crap. It’s always some combination of “we don’t have it to pay you” and “you don’t deserve it.” The balance is tipped to the second line of argument here, but it’s not novel. I guess that’s to say that this is the challenge the American labor movement always runs up against, at least since Reagan. It’s huge but not insurmountable.
But that’s not to say that SAG/WGA can’t get out there with stronger and louder messaging. Ad buys seem like they could be a good idea, and I’ve been hoping that can coordinate an A-lister campaign to take advantage of those massive platforms. And use the platforms to shine a light on the normie, working actors and writers.
I think another good path to motivate people is through anti-corporation solidarity. The Nanny has been doing some of that. More would be good.

Note
I'm going to preface this with a note, especially because of the tone of the video.
DO NOT WATCH THE MCLEAN HOSPITAL VIDEO IF YOU ARE DISSOCIATED ALREADY / IN A VULNERABLE MINDSET, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE AN OVERT OR MORE OVERT PRESENTING SYSTEM!
The video is at this link, if you are in a safe mental state where you can watch it.
Now, onto my thoughts (excuse the possibly jumbled nature of this post, i am dissociating)
---
The disclaimer at the beginning of the video states that he cannot truly say whether or not certain people are faking DID, in the same way an anti-endo might say "well im not saying that endos are faking being a system, but i have seen these traits that show that they may perhaps be faking." He makes it clear that he does not INHERENTLY think that all systems that are like this are fake, but he DOES imply, here and throughout the video, that he believes these overt traits to be fake.
he compares these REAL SYSTEMS on tiktok and compares their traits/behaviors to those he deems fake, comparing them repeatedly to "the DID systems we know about / see and treat" and pointing out the traits that are 'malingering'. he goes through the history of DID and says that it's often always a covert thing, to hid. he mentions how his patients are often reluctant to bring up being a system at all, and don't have alters that are 'character-like" or are as "developed/distinguished".
he mentions how one system and systems like them may be malingering for monetary gain or fame. he brings up the "perks" to DID, like getting away with things or making money off of it, and how tiktok and other social media has been making those kinds of systems more common. he mentions how many systems may be playing up their symptoms, or that singlets / non-systems may believe that they are systems.
he brings up the fact that there's "good information and real systems, but a lot of misinformation and misrepresentations of systems", implying the majority or at least a large minority of systems online are malingering/faking. he briefly brings up the issues with fakeclaiming, but then goes on to explain how angry malingerers (or implied-fakers) may get when their systemhood is invalidated / when the psychologists bring up that they may be incorrect, and implies that they're harsh, and snippy and aggressive. it brought to mind the idea of walking on eggshells, which is strange for a psychologist to say about their patients
and my least favorite part is when he shows a video of someone who is explaining that "ur plurality is valid, ur real, u can talk to ur alters/headmates through notes if you want to, that's what's helped us" in the sense of like... the video being a "oh u realized ur a system! here's a tip, don't let people invalidate you because you're exploring your self/selves and yor identity and experiences." and he says "it's like a how-to guide on how to have DID/plurality", implying that the video was showing that you SHOULD fake DID or something, when it's literally just a little validation video. which is necessary with content like this whole webinar existing, or things like r/fakedisordercringe or systemscringe.
and yes, nowhere in the video does he directly say that anyone is faking, or that any of the people in the videos he showd are faking, but he only uses them as negative examples, as malingering, and there's little to no comments towards the alternatives, or explaining why a system may act overtly and how to differentiate true malingerers from just overt systems living their lives.
if he has no ideas as to why some systems act overtly, he could have interviewed people, or something. instead, he used uncensored videos of people and called their traits malingerer-traits and never even contacted them for permission, leading to upset, fakeclaiming, harassment towards those users and more trauma for them.
it's just a professional version of what you would see on fakeclaiming subredddits, with some acknowledgement of "hey fakeclaiming bad, actually, and there are real systems sometime" but barely even that.
---
this got way too long and we're still dissociated out of our mind so a tldr; the webinar featured a man who claimed he wasn't fakeclaiming peple and then went on to imply that the traits those people had were "malingering"/faking and that people encourage faking on tiktok and other social media sites, and that "real systems' don't act as overtly as these tiktok systems, that real systems are (most always) scared and ashamed and covert.
i am so sick of people talking about the mclean hospital video. how many of you people actually watched it and how many of you are just spouting information you got from secondhand sources? it's on the wayback machine, go watch it if you want to talk about it so much

Chapter 4
Emma took a steadying breath, one hand still gripping the side of the ship despite no longer needing to, and her other holding Killian's hook. Her fingers shook.
She tried to breathe past the fear crawling up her spine.
Fear.
Despair.
Hopelessness.
She took a shuddering breath.
No.
He was alive.
He was alive.
But the idea of him out there, somewhere on that shadowy island in the distance, alone, shot, bleeding, dying—
The fact that Killian's worst enemy—second to Rumplestiltskin—was on that island with him…
Killian was already badly hurt. They needed to find him. Now.
Emma swallowed down the panic and she stalked toward the helm, where Neal was watching their surroundings warily, as if he was afraid someone was hiding in the shadows. It only made her pause a moment, seeing him so fearful, because despite in New York when he'd been afraid of his father, Emma had never seen him afraid before.
Emma took a breath, trying to push down her feelings toward Neal. "How fast can you get us to land?" asked Emma shortly.
Neal turned then, tearing his gaze from his surroundings, seeing her. He took a breath, as if preparing himself for her protest, before saying, "A few hours."
Emma's brows shot up. "Hours?!" she echoed, voice tightening.
"If you want to get there alive," said Neal, a little haughtily, "then yeah."
But Emma's eyes narrowed, her fingers tightening even more around Killian's hook, only feeling Killian's absence even more, like a coldness, a hollowness around her, and her panic was overflowing. "Killian doesn't have hours!" Her voice was shaking, and so were her fingers.
"He survived getting his hand chopped off without bleeding out, I'm guessing he can handle a bullet," muttered Neal with a heat. At Emma's glare, he sighed, saying, "Look, we need to be careful. The first thing we need to do is make sure we don't piss off any mermaids so that we actually make it to land."
Emma had I think I can handle a mermaid on the tip of her tongue, but Killian's voice echoed in her head:
"Mermaids are evil now?" she'd asked.
"You've a lot to learn. They're some of the most vile creatures I've come across."
But the echo of his voice only made it more clear that he wasn't here, and Emma fought the urge to shatter.
"I suggest," said Neal quietly, "that we take this time to rest."
Emma glared at him, every ounce of her fear channeled into one expression alone, but she knew there was no sense in arguing with him.
She turned, moving to head below deck, however rest was the last thing on her mind, when she nearly ran headfirst into Mary Margaret and David, who had been standing behind her, both looking incredibly guilty and nervous.
Emma stared back at them.
What she'd said to them at the docks had been something she never intended to tell them, but in the moment it just… came out.
However, they weren't words she was planning on taking back.
They were the truth, and right now, she was terrified and pissed off and absolutely loathe to be in the company she was in right now.
So, Emma moved to walk around them, but Mary Margaret stepped gently into her path, eyes wide and sad. "Emma," she whispered, voice a little choked. "Can… can we talk?" she asked, eyes so hopeful.
"No." said Emma firmly, moving to walk around her, but Mary Margaret moved another step into her path.
"Emma, please," said Mary Margaret, tears welling in her eyes. "I'm so—"
Emma shut her eyes, taking a short breath, snapping, "Don't." Mary Margaret's words dried up instantly, and Emma felt her own eyes burn with hurt and fury and fear. "I don't want to talk," she said, words firm and broken at once.
"But—" began Mary Margaret, making Emma take a shuddering breath with irritation flooding into the fear and hurt.
"You had every opportunity to talk to me," snapped Emma, making a little gasp escape Mary Margaret. "But in the end, you don't want to hear the truth. And guess what? You don't get to anymore." Tears gathered in Mary Margaret's eyes. Emma smiled, something that held no warmth, the pure personification of damaged innocence. "I spent my whole life," she whispered, words just barely shaking, "wanting to find you. Wanting you to want me." Her voice choked a little, and her broken smile grew, even as tears touched her own eyes. "Well, now it's my turn. And I've decided," she said with delicate heaviness, "that I don't want you."
Both of them flinched.
And looking at them both, every bit of brokenness in her chest fuelled her words. "I don't care that you're my parents." she whispered. "After I get Killian back," she said firmly, eyes burning, "I don't ever want to see you again."
Color drained from both their faces.
"Emma…" breathed Mary Margaret, a tear slipping down her cheek.
But Emma didn't wait for whatever she was going to say, whether they be more empty apologies or flowery words.
She walked around her, and Mary Margaret didn't stop her.
Emma descended the stairs below deck, walking straight to Killian's cabin. She opened the door with shaking fingers, closing it firmly behind her. She leaned against it for a moment in the silence, the tension in the air feeling palpable.
It was so quiet.
So empty.
Killian's hook still tight in her fingers, Emma walked to his bed.
She slowly laid down on the mattress.
His scent enveloped her instantly.
It should be comforting.
But it was just wrong.
His scent should come with his voice, his embrace, his reassurance—
She shut her eyes, feeling a tear slip past her lashes, dissolving into the material of his pillow.
She has lived her entire life alone. She knew what loneliness felt like, what emptiness felt like.
But it has never, not once, felt like this.
Her fingers grasped his blanket, his hook pulled to her chest.
"I always wanted to see the world."
"I'd like to see it with you, love."
Another tear burned down her skin.
"Tonight."
"He's gone."
Her chest hurt with a sob she refused to release.
"Tallahassee."
"We're almost home."
"Sorry, sweetheart, your boy took off."
Familiar panic was rushing through her.
The same panic when Neal didn't show up to the drop.
When Neal didn't show up to prison to break her out.
When Neal didn't show up eleven months later, after she was free.
When Neal wasn't in Tallahassee, even after she'd searched for him for over two years.
Emma's breath hitched.
Her fingers curled tighter around Killian's hook, her tear striking the metal.
"Don't leave."
"I promise you, Emma, I am not going anywhere."
The need for his embrace to fill the hollowness chilling her from the inside out was so desperate it felt like agony.
Her mind traitorously echoed the sound of the gunshot, making her flinch where she lay, her eyes screwing shut, flashing back to the blood on the ground.
The doubt from the others suddenly surfaced just as loudly, and suddenly her breath was catching, her hope simmering away like fire in rain.
Henry said Killian was shot in the stomach.
The blood on the ground…
"Killian doesn't have hours!"
Killian might be a hell of a survivor, one of the strongest people she's ever known, but to survive such an injury, for hours?
"Pan owns that island, he'll find him in minutes."
Emma's breath hitched again, fingers curling tighter around his hook.
What if they're too late?
What if he was already…?
Her fingers shook.
What if she loses him?
Familiar panic, so similar to when Gold had attacked her in New York, was tightening her chest, making it burn.
But this time, there was no one to pull her into their arms.
There was no "Shh, sweetheart, it's all right." No hand over her hair, no arms pulling her tightly in, wrapping her in safety.
There was no Killian, and she never thought she could feel more afraid than she did in that apartment in New York, but she was wrong.
This fear threatened to pull her down and suffocate her in it.
She pulled her knees up, another tear spilling over her cheek, whispering brokenly, "Killian." Her shoulders shook, but she swallowed the sob. "Don't leave." she breathed, the words reflexive like they'd been back in New York.
But this time, there was no one to promise they wouldn't.
Killian wasn't here, to promise he would stay.
"Trust me, Emma."
His voice echoed in her head, making her still.
"I'm a survivor, love."
Emma opened her eyes.
That hope, that dying firelight inside her, flickered.
He was a survivor.
She took another shuddering breath.
He was a survivor.
She sat up, wiping her tears away, feeling a shaky, delicate determination tentatively set back in.
Hope.
Hope.
He was alive.
And she wasn't going to stop until she saved him.
-.-.-.-.-
David was sitting on one of the cots in a crew cabin, staring unseeingly at the floorboards. Mary Margaret was pacing in front of him, tears still wet on her cheeks. They'd come down not long after Emma disappeared below deck. Mary Margaret had been set on finding Emma again, but David somehow convinced her to come in here.
He felt numb.
Emma's words from both the docks, and moments ago above deck, echoed loudly, painfully in his head.
Not only those, either.
Their conversation in the hospital, when Emma had been hurt.
"You didn't ask."
"You're right. We didn't ask."
When were they going to ask?
He remembered so briefly, the day the curse broke.
Mary Margaret asked.
"Don't you want to talk… about your life? Everything?"
"No matter the circumstances… all my life, I've been alone."
Emma had told them.
So many times.
But every time, he could see so clearly now in hindsight, Emma was met with their reasoning for what they did, their justification for what her life had been.
And then… there was a crisis.
And another crisis.
And another.
And, as David burned a hole in the floorboards with his unseeing gaze, they had nearly gone back to the Enchanted Forest to rebuild their Kingdom.
And he knew with a horribly sad certainty that they never would have asked.
And Emma never would have told them.
Why would she?
Any time she's tried, they didn't listen.
"What have we done?" whispered Mary Margaret, another tear falling down her cheek.
But that made David lift his head, looking at his wife. And he felt his brows knead, whispering, "What have we done?" Mary Margaret paused in her pacing, looking at him with a crazed sort of desperate look in her eye. David swallowed, feeling his own eyes burn. "We haven't done anything." His chest hurt. "We didn't ask her anything, and if we did, we didn't listen. We didn't try to be… parents."
David could remember holding her as a newborn. Trying to spend those few seconds with his baby, his little girl, with Emma, his daughter, before he had to send her through the wardrobe.
And it felt like the next twenty-eight years were a dream.
The next thing he knew, Emma was standing in front of them, a grown adult, someone who had become Mary Margaret's friend and his acquaintance.
Hell, they were practically the same age.
He'd spent that first night the curse broke trying to wrap his head around the fact that Emma was his little girl.
But… they were practically strangers.
How do you even cultivate that relationship?
He'd settled with trying to do what he believed a father should do—protect her, be there for her, yet most importantly, follow her lead. From what he knew of Emma, he knew she wasn't exactly open. He didn't want to push that comfort zone.
Yet, all he did was make her nearly a… a friend of his, at best.
And all he could see now was that he was a horrible, terrible father.
He had no idea what Emma went through.
But it was their fault.
And he had no idea how to make this right.
"What do we do?" whispered Mary Margaret. Another tear fell down her cheek. "She said she never wants to see us again," she choked out, and David stood, pulling her to his chest. "She—" Mary Margaret's voice hiccuped. "She doesn't want us, David," she choked out.
David's hand rubbed her back, but words were caught in his throat. Because he had no idea what to say. Trying to find words to comfort at least one of his girls, he said, "It's all right." It wasn't, and her shaking shoulders were confirmation of it. "She's… Emma's scared and she's hurting, and… and we weren't helping." He wrapped his arms tighter around Mary Margaret, feeling her press her face into his chest, dampening his shirt with her tears. Trying to be delicate, he said softly, "We can't think about us right now. Emma's right; we might be her parents… but we're not acting like ones."
Mary Margaret's breath hitched, and she pulled back to look at him. "I…" she began, breath hitching again, and David felt his heart hurt for all three of them. "I don't know h-how," she admitted in a hoarse whisper. "She's—she's my daughter," she breathed, "and I'm her m-mother, and I don't know how to be my own daughter's mother—"
David pulled her to his chest. "I know," he whispered, rubbing her back. "I know," he repeated, quieter, more hollowly, because gods knew, he did.
They stood there in each other's embrace for a long moment, David running his hand comfortingly on her back. She broke the silence: "What do we do?"
David took a heavy breath, feeling his own eyes burn with the threat of releasing his own liquid pain. "I don't know," he admitted, feeling her hold him tighter. But he took a breath, and said, "All we can do right now is help her rescue Hook, and get all of us back home safely. And… and do whatever we can do to try to earn her forgiveness."
Mary Margaret sniffed, nodding against his chest. Her eyes opened, red and miserable, and she whispered, "The… the way she cares about him. Hook." She sniffed again. "Do you think she'll ever look at us like that?"
David swallowed, not for the first time trying to understand how a pirate had more of his daughter's love and care and trust than she's ever shown them.
But it was clear that Hook did a hell of a lot more for Emma than save her life. Twice.
Emma had told him secrets she'd never told anyone else.
And Hook…
He didn't take her care and trust for granted.
Instead, he sacrificed himself to ensure Henry's safety—Emma's happiness.
Something that he and Mary Margaret had yet to do for Emma.
They hadn't sacrificed anything for her.
They'd sacrificed her.
"I think," he whispered, a tear betraying him, burning a line down his own cheek, falling into Mary Margaret's hair, "that's something we have to earn."
And he would spend the rest of his life trying to.
-.-.-.-.
Nearly an hour and fifty-two pull ups on one of the support beams over Killian's bed later, there was a slight knock at the door, followed by a slow creak of it opening an inch.
Emma tried to catch her breath, dropping back down to the edge of Killian's bed, hands still tight around the beams. "What?" she snapped. She's managed to push back the panic just enough to keep herself from falling apart, but it was still there, trying to close in on her.
It did not help that she had an emotional minefield with quite literally everyone on this ship, and she was not in the mood to deal with any of it.
Slowly, Neal peered into the room. He saw her, his face wary, like he didn't know if he expected something to be thrown at him, but his brows kneaded when he saw her standing on the edge of the bed frame. "What are you doing?"
Pulling herself up once more, maybe to show him how much a punch from her would hurt, she dropped back down to the floor, muttering to the wall, "Getting ready for a fight."
Neal looked like he had some sarcastic response for that, but his eyes suddenly took in the cabin, looking at it like one would an old childhood home. Emma's glare faltered just slightly, remembering that he knew Killian once, too.
"Bae," she'd echoed, lying in Killian's bed on their way back from New York. "You knew him too."
"I bloody thought I did."
But Emma was in no mood to inquire about whatever past relationship they'd had, so she turned haughtily toward him, trying her best to keep her shattered armor intact. "Are we there yet?"
Neal hesitated. "We'll be able to dock in about a half an hour," he said slowly, only making Emma's chest tighten even more with impatience. Time Killian was bleeding. Time Killian was dying. She shook herself, fighting the burning in her eyes.
Instead, she channeled everything she was feeling into a glare.
Neal held her gaze for a moment, looking uncertain. But he slowly took a breath, and said, "Look, Emma. I want to talk to you now that we have a chance—"
Emma felt her muscles go rigid. "Yeah, well I don't."
"Emma—" he began.
"Let me be clear about this," snapped Emma. "You are not here because I want you here. You're here because you offered to help save Killian. I don't owe you anything."
But Neal didn't even seem to hear a word. "But, Emma, I just want to talk—"
Emma took a breath, trying to steady the overflow of emotions that were very close to erupting again. There were plenty of things she could say to Neal, yell at Neal, but no one actually cared what she went through. No one cared what they did to her, no one cared that she was collateral damage to everyone else's happiness.
It was again a matter of them wanting to talk, but not listen.
That ends, now.
"You want to talk?" Emma cut him off sharply. His words dried up in an instant at the ice in her voice. She stepped closer to him, fists curling at her sides. "Well, guess what?" she whispered, voice delicate but shaped to cut. "I wanted to talk," she began, eyes burning with old hurt, "when I waited at the drop, calling you when you didn't show up, just to hear that your number was no longer in service."
Neal froze. Cringed. "Em—"
But Emma steamrolled ahead, eyes narrowing, voice hardening, "And I wanted to talk," she went on, voice cutting even sharper, "using my phone calls in prison to call every number you ever had."
Neal's eyes widened a little.
"I wanted to talk," Emma continued, voice shaking now, eyes burning, "when I got out of prison, and went to Tallahassee to look for you."
Neal's eyes widened more, looking suddenly tortured.
But it only made Emma more angry, because why does she have to break down, fall apart and spell it out for people to see how much she was hurting?
Emma was inches from him now, from the man she once thought felt like home, that now only felt like a stranger, like someone cold and heartless and like the shape of her pain.
She glared at him, every ounce of hurt in her eyes as they burned. "I don't want to talk to you anymore."
Neal stared back at her in utter shock.
Emma walked around him, intending to leave, when he blurted something that made her freeze.
"I love you."
Emma felt her entire body go rigid.
She slowly turned around, seeing Neal's eyes screwed shut, opening them hesitantly to look at her.
"What?" breathed Emma, fists tightening even more.
"I… I love you," he said quickly. "I loved you then, and… and I love you now. I've always loved you, Ems." He smiled a little, but Emma felt nothing but cold. "That's, ah… that's why I'm… here." He swallowed. Hard.
Emma held his gaze.
There was only half a truth in his eyes.
He loved her, but that wasn't the only reason he was here.
And yet, seeing the truth that he did love her, the same love she second guessed for years, only made her chest hurt worse.
The burning in her eyes even hotter, Emma whispered, "You know why I know that's not true?" A tear betrayed her. "All you care about is how you feel." The tear burned traitorously down her cheek. "Killian sacrificed himself for me, twice, and just did for Henry. He is the only person who has ever put my happiness first." Another tear fell, cracks in her armor that simply were too broken to hold. "If you actually loved me," she hissed, something raw and cracked, "you would have come back and found me, because you clearly knew exactly where I would be." And at Neal's suddenly guilty expression, her theory was painfully confirmed. "But, like every foster family that gave me back," she whispered, "you proved that I wasn't worth fighting for."
Neal was paler than the moon. "Emma…" he said hollowly.
"You broke me." she whispered. "And you don't even care."
"I… of course I—" he spluttered. "I didn't date anyone after you, I… I only ever loved you and I still want you—"
"Good." said Emma, with that same heartbroken smile from before. "Now you know what it feels like."
And she turned, walking away, another tear burning down her cheek, followed by a second because Killian wasn't here to wipe it away.
-.-.-.-.-.
It was almost clockwork, Neal's estimation that they would make it to shore within a half an hour. Emma had spent the rest of the time above deck, hardened with determination, watching the shadowy figure of the island get closer and closer.
Neal had made his way back to the helm a few minutes after Emma left him. But he hadn't attempted to talk to her, and if he had, Emma already knew he would have ended up overboard. She figured he knew that just as well.
But Neal had quietly called her to the helm, a wariness in his voice that had nothing to do with their conversation earlier, and more to do with the physical danger of Neverland. Emma reluctantly put aside her feelings toward him—shoved them somewhere deep, deep down—and approached. Neal called quietly down the steps for Emma's parents.
Waiting next to Neal in silence was its own tension, but when her parents joined, walking cautiously up the steps, looking afraid to meet her eyes, the tension was unbearable. The four of them stood in a silent circle, the tension suffocating.
"All right, look," said Emma, meeting their eyes, seeing Neal's uncertainty, Mary Margaret's red-rimmed eyes and a sadness in David's gaze. "Killian…" her voice closed up. She tried again. "He's hurt and bleeding out, and we need to find him as soon as possible. He's all that matters right now." Her unsaid words were loud and clear, and she saw Neal's minute nod.
"Of—of course," said Mary Margaret.
"We're here for Hook," agreed David, attempting a smile that didn't make it past a grimace.
Emma shoved her feelings as far down as they would go.
Neal cleared his throat a little. "I'm aware that none of you are… happy with me," he said, which was the understatement of the century. "But if you want to rescue Hook and get back to our realm alive, it would be best to follow my lead. Most of the plants on this island will kill you, and some of them will actually attack you. Not to mention the Lost Boys."
"I think we can handle some kids," muttered David.
But Neal gave him a hard look. "They're not kids. They've been here for hundreds of years and they're savage warriors. They're Pan's minions and they know how to fight. Don't shy from hurting or killing them; they're older than all of us."
A beat passed over them.
Neal sighed. "If Pan knew we were here, I'd assume he'd have unleashed something on us by now. Either way, stay vigilant. There's an armory below deck; get a weapon you know how to use." He swallowed hard, looking toward the shadowed trees. "Portals usually drop kids on the beach or in the water. We're going to head around the coast to find Hook."
Emma's chest tightened.
Over the next few minutes, David had found himself a sword, Mary Margaret, a quiver and arrows, Neal, a sword—my old cutlass, had been his whisper to himself—which left Emma in the middle of the armory, eyes scanning over the blades, wishing desperately for a gun.
"Here."
Emma jumped a little at Neal's quiet voice behind her. She whirled around, seeing him hold out the hilt of a sword to her, still in its sheath.
"A sword?" she said, taking it from him, holding it by the hilt, sliding the blade out of the shealth. A warm chill shot through her as she did.
Neal nodded, eyes on the blade, something unreadable in them. But he lifted his gaze to Emma, saying quietly, "It's Hook's."
Emma felt her body still.
The chill that swept through her suddenly made sense.
Her fingers suddenly shook a little.
She stared at the sword.
Killian's sword.
She swallowed hard.
Slowly, she sheathed it, and buckled it around her waist.
And a burning touched her eyes, because somehow, it felt like the ghost of Killian's embrace wrapped around her.
Her hand settled on the hilt, thumb brushing over it.
Suddenly, Emma felt a little less alone, and like she missed him even more, all at once.
Emma met Neal's eyes, seeing that unreadable look in them before he shook it away, nodding at her gaze.
Killian's sword at her hip, a dagger in her boot, and Killian's hook still safely in her pocket, they both headed back above deck. Neal disappeared once more below deck, returning with a bag packed with what he muttered they'd need, and Emma didn't waste the time on questioning it.
The four of them quietly and cautiously lowered the gangplank and stepped onto land, which looked like a forever midnight on a tropical island. But there was an ominous thickness in the air, a threat in the shadows of the trees, the way there was no wind to move the leaves, that gave way to just how much evil lived here.
The four of them started down the beach, and Emma's fingers curled tightly around the hilt of Killian's sword.
I will find you, Killian, she promised.
She only prayed she wouldn't find him too late.
-.-.-.-.
Killian opened his eyes.
He blinked a few times, cringing at the headache pounding behind his eyes. Everything was dark, lit only by the moon. It took him a moment to come to, and when he did, his eyes snapped wide.
"I want the savior. I want Emma Swan."
Neverland.
Pan.
Emma.
"Oh, but Captain… she's already here."
Emma.
Memories struck him fast and painfully, remembering the docks, Henry, the blinding pain, then falling through the portal, and—
A chill shot through Killian.
He was back in Neverland.
But that wasn't the worst of it.
Pan wanted Emma, and she was here.
Killian blinked again to clear the fuzziness from his vision as whatever they drugged him with faded, and he found himself lying on the ground, on something that felt like twigs or branches.
Emma.
He needed to find her.
He moved sharply to get up, only to groan, his hand flying to his abdomen.
Killian looked down, expecting to see blood, but remembered—Pan healed him.
So why did it still hurt?
Jerking his shirt up, he could see the wound had been healed, his skin no longer broken, yet was black and blue, as if badly bruised. Killian froze for half a second, wondering why the hell that would be if he'd been healed; Cora had healed him back in Storybrooke, and all of his cracked ribs had healed in an instant, as if it was never there.
Unless Pan had only healed him enough to save his life.
Killian felt familiar contempt fuel him at that thought; it was certainly something the demon would bloody do.
Grimacing, his hand still to his throbbing side, Killian stood, only to hit his head on something that felt just like the floor he'd been lying on.
Looking at it, Killian felt his breath still.
Not only was there a floor and a ceiling, there were walls made of what looked like bamboo and branches.
It was a bloody cage.
"Bloody hell," he breathed. He could see through the gaps in the branches of the cage, but only the darkness of the forest. There was no sign of life; it appeared they'd left him here alone.
Killian growled, immediately swiping his hook against the wall to break it—
—for his brace to strike it, dealing absolutely no damage.
Killian stared at the end of his left arm, shutting his eyes when he realized that he'd removed it to save Henry.
He'd never, ever regret doing so, but hell, that was the only weapon he had.
Though, he figured, Pan or the Lost Boys would have taken it anyway.
No matter.
Killian's face set in firm determination, and he lashed out with his heel, kicking at the wall, despite just how sturdy it was. His hand held his side as every movement made him hiss, but he didn't stop. He kicked and kicked and kicked. Rammed his shoulder into it, pulled and yanked—
What felt like hours later, his abdomen on fire, his chest heaving from the useless effort, Killian breathed out a "Damn it," letting himself sink against the unforgiving wall of the cage in utter, bloody defeat.
His eyes shut.
He was bloody trapped.
Even if he had his hook, even if he spent years fighting the damn thing, the harsh truth crept into the back of his mind; this was Pan. The bloody thing was probably sealed with magic that wouldn't give after centuries of physical abuse. He grimaced at the sharp throbbing in his abdomen, but that wasn't the pain springing tears to his eyes.
Emma.
His eyes opened, moonlight glinting off the moisture in them.
She was walking into a trap, and he couldn't bloody do anything about it.
"Don't leave."
"I promise you, Emma. I am not going anywhere."
Killian's eyes shut, his chest hurting.
Gods, he bloody promised.
He needed to get to her.
He bloody needed to.
Yet somewhere beyond the panic in his chest, somewhere in the cracks of his heart, there was a wonder.
A pure disbelief.
Emma was here.
Emma was here.
Emma came after him.
His eyes burned.
Despite how terrified he was for her, he was so bloody touched.
His eyes opened, that panic climbing again, because Emma thought Pan wanted Henry.
She has no idea that she's Pan's true target.
She's here for him, and because of him, she's going to walk straight into her demise.
Something he couldn't even fathom.
Hell, was she alone?
His heart beat faster.
The need to get to her was blinding.
Gods, he couldn't even begin to imagine what she was feeling right now.
She was like shattered glass haphazardly put back together ever since New York.
Henry must have relayed what happened to her—gods, the thought of both of them—Henry, who'd had to bloody watch him fall—
"I always wondered what it would be like to have a dad."
"I think it feels like this."
Killian's eyes burned.
Against all odds, despite the fact that he didn't deserve either of them, they'd both chosen him.
And now…
He was going to lose them both.
Killian's chest hurt with a heart that had already broken too many times.
Somewhere amidst the fear and pain consuming him, he felt the smallest bit of relief, knowing that Henry was safe.
He'd saved him.
Killian's eyes burned hotter.
Not hours ago, he'd vowed to himself to not make the same mistake twice.
And he'd kept the promise.
He'd saved Henry, from Pan of all people.
But hell, that wasn't enough.
He couldn't bloody leave him.
Not now.
And Emma…
Already Killian himself missed her so much it hurt worse than the bloody gunshot did. There was this cold need to have her near, her hand in his, her safely at his side, in his arms, and now she was somewhere in bloody Neverland, in more danger than she's ever seen—
Killian growled, angrily slamming his elbow back into the wall he was slumped against—
To feel it move.
Killian's eyes snapped open.
He whipped around.
There, in one of the thick branches, it cracked.
He stared in shock.
But he could see it now—his onslaught earlier had done something. He could see the slight bend in the branches now. This was the first one he'd managed to hit hard enough to crack.
That meant…
That meant there was no magic around it.
Yet…
Pan used magic for everything.
But Killian felt something rise in his chest, something warm, something like hope, something that felt like Emma, and he felt the beginning of a grin.
Never once had Pan ever sent a patsy to kidnap a child to bring them to Neverland; it was always the demon's Shadow.
Why would he need to send someone to kidnap Henry?
And what Killian had thought as cruelty, to only heal his injury halfway—
"I want the savior."
Pan needed Emma, the Savior.
Why else would he need a bloody savior?
Something was wrong with him.
Killian didn't waste a second.
He stood back up, continuing his attack on the cage, weakening the same spot more and more.
He was going to get out of here, and he was going to find Emma.
He just prayed he wouldn't be too late.

An apple a day
Pairing: Doctor!Jensen x Reader
Summary: You were just having a bad day, that’s it. I mean, dislocating an arm while carrying cartons into your new apartment? That could happen to everyone. But intentionally miss three vaccination appointments? That could only happen to you. If only the doctor wasn't so cute...
Word Count: 2,507
Warnings: Fluff, mentions of pain and injuries, syringes and stitches
Author’s Note: This story is based on a request by @myopiamystical So reader has an accident. And she gets dislocated arm or leg. She is brought to ER, the doc is Jensen. Reader is allergic to most of the sedatives so Jensen has to relocate it with reader being conscious. This scene + the very same day, later reader has to take some injections (2-3) which she is very afraid to take it from nurse, Jensen overhears and does it himself. Can you write these two with all the fluff? Jensen asking her out, inviting her over dinner since she was just released from hospital and the whole date? I changed it slightly but I hope you like it. This one is long. Enjoy and shower it with love.
Tumblr media
"Gabe, I'm fine! I already said that!" you repeated in annoyance as your future neighbor pulled you into the emergency room. "Now come on, Y/N," he said and dragged you toward the emergency room by grabbing your arm. "Ouch..." you hissed and tore your arm away from him as you rubbed across it to dull the pain. He raised his hands apologetically. "It's okay. It's okay." Gabriel held the door open for you and immediately the biting scent of antiseptic hit you. Men and women in scrubs hurried around, caring for patients. You meandered your way through the chaos to the reception. The cold light shimmered on the bright tiles on the floor and everything was white and turquoise. Typical hospital. The receptionist didn't even notice you until Gabe finally cleared his throat.
"Excuse me. My friend here-" He demonstratively put his arm around you, but you stiffened under his touch and escaped his embrace. "She's moving and she got caught. Her arm is hurting a lot," he explained. He probably meant well, but you were quite capable of talking yourself. You denied it. "It's not so bad..." you said, looking at the dirty tips of your sneakers. She checked you out and then handed you a clipboard. "Fill this out in the waiting room." she ordered and nodded towards the waiting room. You nodded. Gabe was about to follow you when you turned around again. He was a nice guy, but you hadn't known him long. "Thanks for bringing me here, Gabriel. You don't have to wait anymore. I can handle it." you said, hoping he'd take a hint. Of course he didn't. "Oh, nonsense, it's no problem. I'll wait with you, neighbour." He winked at you and you sighed inside. "All right, neighbour." You mumbled and sat down.
Eagerly you began to fill in the sheet. Complaints, medications, allergies. You were allergic to many sedatives and wrote that down on the paper. Last tetanus vaccine? You had to think about it, so you tapped your pen against your lip. You had no idea. You didn't like getting vaccinated. You weren't anti-vaccination, but you were afraid of injections. So you crossed the line and brought the clipboard back to the reception.
A few minutes later a blonde doctor's assistant appeared in the doorway and called your name. "Ms. Y/N L/N?" She read it out loud and looked up. "Yes, that's me!" you said, rising from your chair. "Follow me, please." She led you through the hallways into a white-painted consulting room. She must have sensed that you were uncomfortable, because she smiled at you. "Please sit down. Dr. Ackles will be with you in two minutes." With these words she closed the door and left you alone in the sterile room. Your gaze wandered and you looked at the various information panels and anatomical drawings on the walls. On the desk in front of you was a model of a human eye and the walls were decorated with drawings made by children. Almost always there were suns, rainbows or a house with a child on it. "Thank you, Dr Ackles" was written on it in scrawly letters.
Suddenly the door opened and the doctor entered. He was wearing a white coat and a stethoscope was hanging around his neck. He had blond hair and looked young. The turquoise shirt stretched over his muscular upper body and he definitely looked good. He smiled at you in a friendly way. "Good afternoon Ms.-" He glanced quickly at the clipboard in his hand. "L/N. I am Dr. Jensen Ackles." His green eyes sparkled as he gave you his hand, which you shook with your uninjured arm. His handshake was warm and firm.
He settled on the other side of the desk opposite you. "Well, Ms L/N, how can I help you?" he asked with a friendly smile. "Well..." you started. "I'm moving and I'm in the middle of a mess. I was taking apart a shelf and I got caught on an old nail. The nail scratched my forearm, but we fixed that. The thing is, the pain made me abruptly snap. Then my shoulder cracked and now I can't move my arm anymore," you said and looked a little ashamed to the side.
Dr. Ackles immediately stood up and circled the desk. "Let's have a look." he said, looking at your shoulder. "The joint is definitely dislocated and should be put back into place." he noted seconds later. He hurriedly took a look at the clipboard. "It says you can't take sedatives, so we'll have to do it without," he explained and you swallowed. "Don't worry. It'll be quick and it will only hurt for a moment." He reassured you when he saw your concern. You nodded reluctantly. "All right," you agreed.
Gently, he placed his hands on your shoulder. "Let's count to three together, yeah? Then I pop your shoulder in. So, ready?" he asked. "Yes," you replied, clenching your teeth together. "All right. One." You breathed more rapidly. "Two." Suddenly, he pushed hard on your shoulder and the joint snapped back into place. "Ouch." You sucked in the air through your teeth. A sharp pain shot through your shoulder. Then the pain ebbed and turned into a dull throb in the background. You moved your arm in disbelief. "Didn't we say on three?" you asked and a laugh escaped your lips. Dr Ackles agreed. "I'm sorry. It's a trick I often use on children because they're less prepared and less afraid, then." He smiled at you crookedly and shrugged his shoulders apologetically. His hand casually brushed across your neck before he stepped away from you.
"Now, let's have a look at that scratch," said Dr Ackles, urging you to roll up your sleeve. He opened the bandage and examined the wound with a professional eye. "The wound is badly reddened at the edges. Have you cleaned it?" he asked. You shook your head and bit your lip uncertainly. A worry line appeared on his forehead. "A rusty nail, you say? When was your last tetanus vaccination?" the blond man asked with concern. You shrugged your shoulders. "I-I don't know. I-I - well... I'm pretty scared of needles." you mumbled and he nodded. "What happened after you dislocated your arm?" he asked further and made some notes. Then his green eyes found yours again. "Well." Embarrassed, you tugged at your shirt. "I fell down and hit my head on the floor," you muttered. "Did you pass out afterwards?" the young doctor asked immediately. You nodded tentatively while he disinfected the wound.
"All right, Ms L/N. In any case, you must spend the night in the hospital under observation. There is a suspicion of a concussion." he explained to you after lighting into your eyes. You nodded softly. "Very good. I will now give you some medicine. Amber, my assistant will help you take them and then bring you to a room where you can spend the night. We'll get you a tetanus vaccination tomorrow." You tried to block the thought of the upcoming vaccination. "Thank you, Dr. Ackles." He nodded at you with a smile, looked like he had something to say, but then Amber came into the room. Dr. Ackles was needed in another room.
You had Amber tell Gabriel you were spending the night in the hospital. Gabriel wanted to see you again, but Amber insisted it wasn't a good idea because you needed rest. He brought you a duffel bag with your toiletries and clothing in the late afternoon.
You had already been lying on the bed in your room for several hours, surfing through the internet in boredom. You were accommodated on the third floor of the hospital and listened to what was going on in the corridor. Shoes squeaked on the linoleum and every few seconds a door slammed. You glanced through the floor-to-ceiling windows and watched the sun set slowly behind the building complex. It bathed your room in an orange light and every move you made cast long shadows on the wall with the door to the hallway.
A knock tore you away from your thoughts. Before you could say anything, the door opened at almost the same moment. Dr. Ackles' blond head appeared in the doorway as he peered into the room. "May I come in?" As if you'd lost the ability to speak, you just nodded without saying anything.  When he entered, he smiled at you impishly while hiding something behind his back. Curious, you watched him enter the room.
"I came back to check on you." Dr. Ackles came to your bed. "I stole some pudding from the cafeteria" said the blond with a cheeky grin, triumphantly holding up a glass of pudding. He winked at you and the gesture caused butterflies in your stomach. "And, um, well..." He suddenly seemed embarrassed and scratched his neck nervously. Then suddenly he reached out to you with a book. You were surprised to receive it. "What is that?" you asked. "Storm of Roses" was written on the cover. "I brought you a book from my office. Against boredom." Your fingers were running over the worn pages. You opened it at a dog's ear, and your eyes went over the lines. "It's obviously some cheesy romance novel." He said. You looked at him with a smile. He immediately blushed and cleared his throat. "Uh-uh, not that I would read something like that. A patient left this in the waiting room. I'm just keeping it for her," he stuttered. You raised your hands defensively and bit your cheek to suppress a giggle. "Of course." you replied seriously, flipping through the pages. "But it's quite good - at least that's what I've heard." He bit his lip and took a deep breath. To spare him any more humiliation, you stepped in. "Thank you, Dr Ackles." You gave him an honest smile as you pressed the book against your chest and looked at his rose-tinted cheeks. He avoided your gaze.  So, Dr. Ackles was a hopeless romantic. Interesting.
You spent the rest of the evening reading the book and eating your pudding at the same time. Eventually, you got so tired from the medication, you could barely keep your eyes open. It was only ten o'clock, but soon you fell asleep with Dr. Ackles' book on your stomach. Two hours later Jensen stuck his head back in the room. He was on emergency duty that day and had to take over the night shift on call. With a slight smile on his face, he realized that you were already asleep. Silently he stepped into the room and leaned the door behind him. Then he went to your bed, gently took the book from your hand and put it on the bedside table. Then he tucked you in and finally turned off the light next to your bed. On tiptoe he sneaked out of the room again and quietly pulled the door into the lock.
The next morning, after breakfast, you waited in the waiting room with a cup of coffee and Dr. Ackles' book. It was still early, but there was already a hustle and bustle in the hospital and you watched the people. Then the door to Dr. Ackles' consulting room opened. A little boy came out of the room with a lollipop. "Thank you, Dr Ackles," the boy beamed at him. Ackles smiled at him. "You're welcome, buddy. And wear a helmet next time, yeah?" "I will." said the boy, and the blond leaned into the door with folded arms, watching the little boy run excitedly to his mother. Then his eyes fell on you. He waved at you with a smile and you melted away. He was just too sweet.
Amber pulled you out of your crush. "Ms. L/N. It's your turn now." Like last time, you followed her into the consulting room. But you were disappointed to realise that Dr Ackles was not there. "The doctor said you need to be vaccinated against tetanus, is that correct?" You nodded and watched in panic as she prepared the injection and disinfected a spot on your arm. Just as she was about to prepare the syringe, you flinched. She stopped in surprise. "Is something wrong, miss?" Embarrassed, you dodged her questioning glance. "I'm afraid of needles. I wonder if Dr. Ackles could take over. It's not that I don't trust you, but..." Amber nodded sympathetically. "Wait a minute. Let me see what I can do." She disappeared, and a short time later Dr. Ackles entered the room. You were relieved to see him.
"Hey there. How are you today?" he asked in his calm and deep voice. "Fine, thank you. I'm just a little scared about the injections and I was hoping, well, you could help me -" You fell silent when he disinfected the spot again and refilled the syringe. "Well, we're going to count backwards from 1,029 in 13 steps, yeah?" he said. Confused, you looked at him and stared anxiously at the syringe approaching your arm. "Look ahead, Y/N. I can't hear you count." You looked ahead and began to count shakily. "1,016" you muttered and jerked as the syringe pierced your skin. "What's next?" Jensen asked and distracted you. You continued to count and were soon so concentrated that you didn't even notice the syringe. Only when he dabbed the blood off your skin did you look up surprised. The young doctor smiled at you. "You did great, Y/N." You noticed that it was the second time he used your first name. Then he put the Band-Aid on you. "You see? You get a special unicorn patch. It's only for the really brave girls." He winked at you. You blushed and a smile crept up your lips. "Thanks, Jensen." You just used his first name too. His fingers gently stroked your skin as he pressed the patch on. "Would you like to have a lollipop like Tommy?" he asked afterwards. Tommy must have been the little boy from before.
Laughing, you shook your head. "I don't think that's necessary. It hardly hurts anymore." His green eyes sparkled in amusement. Then he took a step back and cleared his throat. "Well, that's it. You have officially recovered. Don't let me see you back here again so soon. Take care of yourself for a while, okay?" Your heart got heavy when you realized it was time to go. You grabbed his hand and shook it. He was called into the next room. He touched you for a moment as he went past you and then he was gone.
At home, you dropped your bag on the floor and closed the door. You threw your jacket on the sofa when suddenly something fell out of your pocket. You bent down in surprise. It was a red lollipop and a note was wrapped around it. Curious, you rolled it up and read it.
Dinner at my place, brave girl? Call me, Jensen xx

Book 1 Nostalgia
WARNING: This post will have spoilers to the SGE series
The first book in any series will always hold a special place in anyone's heart I think. There is just something beautiful, whether the writing was phenomenal or lacking, about the introduction to a new world and the characters that you're going to know. After reading further into the series, sometimes you just wanna go back to the start, where everything was a lot simpler.
SGE kinda falls into this feeling for me.
I don't think I'm ever going to get over the interactions between the characters (and we haven't even explored most of them) because, personally, Soman is incredibly good with how he does character intercations but the story and plot have a lot to improve on.
And now comparing TSY with TCY it's very glaring.
Soman really has a problem with his plot so much so than with his storyline. It's very repetitive and the storyline suffers from it.
After Book 1, every plot seemed to be the same case; Sophie is an important piece to the main villain, Agatha tries to fix everything, Tedros is getting more crap than needed, annoyingly unhealthy romantic relationships are explored, and the other characters do things.
The last of these examples are really the only things that varies. Everything else is almost always the same in one way or another.
The first book doesn't really follow that pattern. It's a introductory book and I wish Soman did the same vibe as it in QfG.
Though Book 1 wasn't perfect. My biggest main problem with it was how Soman handled Agatha's development from thinking herself a freak and realizing that she was just a beautiful as anyone else (and Tagatha, of course. They had a very unconvincing start) compared to the detailed and precise handling of Sophie's decent and eventual acceptance her wickedness.
I said it once and I'll say it again: I miss vengeful, spited Sophie. Who made the School for Good suffer because Tedros didn't keep his promise and her very impressive Talent to summon Evil creatures at will to do her bidding.
This was the Sophie that I expected more from in the later books but might never get again. With the way that the OTK cover portrays her as the Lion, whether that would be a thing or not, it's clear that Soman wants the readers to look at Sophie in a better light and not as the anti-hero that she is but I could be wrong.
In Book 1, Sophie was incredibly selfish to the point that she wouldn't do anything for others even those that she should care about (i.e. Tedros in the Trial) and in the end, she had to pay for the selfishness by seeing just how Evil she could become and be seen as the witch that she was. Her development from Pink Princess to Witch of Woods Beyond was believable; her ambitiousness combined with her selfishness was what made her gain everything through manipulation and wickedness but it couldn't be hidden for long. Once everyone, including herself, saw what lied underneath her exterior, she lost everything and because of the things that she chooses to do, she naturally hurt and attacked the people that wronged her just as Evil does.
It was caused by a failed romantic pursuit, yes, but unlike the other later romantic relations that she had, the one in Book 1 focused more on the outcome for her character development than in the relationship itself. Honestly her relationships with Rafal, and Rhian, and maybe now Japeth, idk, make absolutely no sense with the importance that the story puts on it because these relationships didn't help further Sophie's character development. It stunted her really.
Now compare this to Agatha.
I think everyone and their cats agree that we all miss witchy Agatha in book 1 and I hope we write more of her in our fanfics like that since Soman won't do it. The thing is, with Agatha, unlike Sophie, whether she is written as a straight-up hero or as a sort of anti-villain with her portrayal as the Snake in the OTK cover, it won't be that far fetched. I don't know if Soman intended this or not but it's pretty frickin impressive with how he managed to make Agatha a pretty versatile character.
Book 1 did not to good with how she went from Graveyard Girl to Fairy Tale Princess. At most, we saw her heroic characteristics but Soman didn't put much effort with making it believable and we were left to our own imaginations with how she could have believably developed and grown into herself. It should have taken more than one chapter to make us believe that Agatha suddenly grew confident with herself and her own brand of beauty and how her relationship with Tedros should have started.
But because of the fact that she's now comfortable as both being a little different and unique in her own way but is still guided by the values of Good and holds it dear to her soul as well as her loyalty to those she loves, she can do great with the best of both worlds.
Agatha hasn't stopped growing since book 1 and I think that reason for that is because Soman knows that he has to square up whenever he writes her. Whether she's developing on her own or with others, she's always learning new values and finding ways to express them in the way that she's comfortable with.
Soman does express that he loves writing in Sophie's POV the most, but it can be a double edged sword if not careful. And I think Soman hasn't been careful.
Now back to the glory of Book 1.
Book one had the most simplest plot and most fluent storyline than in any other book. Even TLEA.
I think I could recall a lot more events in Book 1 than in the more recent ones because there was a lot more events and chapters that were actually necessary to the plot.
So, to go by statistics;
TLEA has the most recorded chapters in the series as of current before the release of OTK with 35 chapters and 3 parts to divide it.
It's followed by Book 1 with 30 chapters.
Then QfG is next with 28 chapters divided into 2 parts.
And aCoT follows with 27 chapters and 2 parts as well.
Last is AWWP with 24 chapters divided into 2 parts as well.
If going by this then OTK should either have a chapter or two more or less than TLEA but not less so than Book 1 because it's going to now be the official last book of the the series.
But that is besides the point. My main problem with the books' storytelling after Book 1 is how disoriented it has become.
Let me make an example with QfG and aCoT. These books are more or less very similar with each other in the number of chapters with only one being the difference while the start of the the "Part 2" portion was a bit different with QfG's starting at chapter 21 while aCoT's started with chapter 17.
But the reception and the fluency of these two books could not be more different from each other.
To say that QfG completely destroyed the fandom is an understatement. I can't tell of aCoT managed to regain the series's former glory for long enough to not let OTK flop but let's be hopeful.
Anyways, the fluency of the storytelling with TCY was wack and QfG and aCoT completely show that.
WARNING: Spoilers about QfG and aCoT will be discussed in this section.
I could not remember almost 70% of QfG because of how much I hated the plot and looking back at the chapters, I honestly could not believe that the asshat Rhian was only introduced on Chapter 21. Everything after Chaddick's POV chapter seemed to be a blur and Rhian's b*tch ass seemed to have corrupted the whole experience.
8 chapters. He was only in QfG for 8 chapters and yet it feels almost like he's been in it for more than half. Frick. He is traumatizing.
Basically, the middle part of the book, namely chapters 7 to 20, was all about the main cast trying to frickin understand wtf was happening. Agatha and Sophie were trying to figure out the Lion and the Snake thing while Tedros was back in Camelot doing (or failing or being sabotaged with) politics and also trying to understand why tf was Excalibur having a tantrum.
Then Rhian entered and I don't know why or how Nottingham and Robin Hood got involved but he did.
And then more figuring out stuff and sabotaging Tedros and then Rhian and Excalibur and then cliffhanger.
It was all very abrupt and confusing. More confusion was added all because there were more questions asked than actual answers and a sense of depression was felt in the end because nothing was really achieved.
Imma compare this with Book 1 later but first Book 5 comparison.
Now aCoT. It was just the storyline that we needed to get back to the hype that the series had. Was it a satisfying read? Yes but was it able to heal the pain that QfG inflicted? No.
The fandom did not come back the same again.
But anyways, aCoT, personally, had a lot more scenes and events that I remembered than in any other book besides book 1 but that there was the problem with this book.
Too many things happened with this book. So much so that the fluency of the story was sacrificed to tell it.
Look at it this way, several shifts in the book happened.
This all happened in Part 1 only;
Rhian became King and his regime was sort of explained.
Agatha was introduced to the First Years and got her Army.
Sophie was in some sort of GOT-esque knock off experience as Rhian's Captive Queen.
Agatha manages to save some of her friends.
The concept of OTK was explained.
Tedros's execution was on way.
Nevermind, Agatha and her army just straight-up hijacked it.
Prof. Dovey died as a sacrifice.
Okay, now to Part 2;
Reaper is a Gnome King.
The Crystal of Time was finally explained.
They finally find out about Rhian and Japeth's origins.
The Gnomes were ambushed and I feel sorry for them.
Sophie tipped Rhian off with the location because she believed that she would end it all.
We kinda get background with why Rhian wants to be OTK????
Rhian DIES?!?!?! and now Japeth's King ☠
They sort of manage to know about wtf happened with the Lady and Japeth
Tedros and Arthur have a heart to heart and he gets the Ring of Power.
Cliffhanger
It's a lot to take in and I don't really think that Soman should have cramped it all in one book.
Some of the plot points should have been in QfG so that it wouldn't be as depressing.
The whole of Part one was a book in itself and Part 2 was one as well.
At some points of the book, I sometimes got the feeling that it was gonna be the end but it just kept going and going and now I don't really know what's left with OTK. It can be both a good thing or a horrible thing.
Let's see wtf happens. I expect more action than drama Soman.
So again with Book 1.
Book 1 was a classic and the ideas easily hooked anyone interested.
It had the same unaswered questions with QfG but why did it suceed when QfG didn't.
First, is that Book 1 had its atmosphere clear from the start of the book. It was clear that the main thing that needed to happen was that Sophie and Agatha needed to realize the actual nature of their souls. There were more technical questions that needed to be answered but the main point that needed to be addressed was addressed by the end of the book.
And also the ending was also a cliffhanger but it a much lighter note.
Sophie and Agatha realized their capabilities and understood themselves but they still chose each other in the end and that sort of gave way to a much hopeful future for the two of them. (At that time, at least)
All the while, QfG was one depressing ball of events that led to one horrible moment to the other.
It was just sad.
And so I kinda go back to Book 1 from time to time to refresh myself with why I started this series to begin with and I'm always reminded with the possibilities and the explorations about good and evil and the complex duality of differences and parallels that so many things that Sophie and Agatha sort of beautifully personify.
I love reading the very first chapter of Book 1 because it so beautifully captured Sophie and Agatha and their complex relationship that I've always wanted to read in other books.
I always loved reading Sophie's amusing thought process and the reason why she does everything that she does; she does it because she believes that she deserves more and she'll everything to get it.
I also loved how Agatha was such a character that I've always wanted to read about. She's spunky and shy and lonely and reflective and despite everyone shunning her, she could still see the good and find it in herself to help them. She was simply wonderful.
I'm thankful that I found this series and I hope that a lot more books can talk about the philosophies and concepts that this book has managed to introduce. And despite all of its set-backs and nonsense, I would still recommend this as a read but to that they should also think about what they've read and maybe talk about what they've found interesting with it.

“Speaking” based on James 3:1-12
Tumblr media
Well, here I am preaching on James 3 which is difficult because James 3 is about how strict and impossible the standards are for those who preach. Um, great. That doesn't seem like a set up for failure at all ;)
James is well aware of Greek culture in his time, and Greek culture had a lot of things to say about the power of the tongue and the difficulty in controlling it. What makes James different is that he is HARSHER than everyone else. James thinks it is IMPOSSIBLE to control the tongue, and James is clear on why people should try anyway.
I see no need to attempt to make his point better than he does – the power of speech is immense, both for good and for evil, and even people themselves often lose control of their speech. Furthermore, perfect speech is impossible.
There is a whole field of theology focused on this. To quote from Wikipedia, who did a good job on this:
Apophatic theology, also known as negative theology,[1]is a form of theologicalthinking and religious practice which attempts to approach God, the Divine, by negation, to speak only in terms of what may not be said about the perfect goodness that is God.[web 1] It forms a pair together with cataphatic theology, which approaches God or the Divine by affirmations or positive statements about what God is.1
That is, there is a whole field that starts with the idea that you can't speak truths about God. Talk about a preacher's bind!!
I do wonder a little bit how time has impacted the truth James shares. He wrote to a primarily oral culture, where most relationships occurred directly face to face. We aren't in that culture anymore, especially not now. Many of our interactions now happen through screens, typed with our finger tips rather than spoken with our tongues. At the core though, I'm not sure that it makes that much difference. What is said matters.
And, as James eventually points out, his primary concern is how people of faith speak about others. Luke Timothy Johnson, in the Anchor Bible summarizes with, “When one uses the same tongue to bless God, yet curse the human person who is created according to the likeness of God (3:9), one betrays in a fundamental sense the allegiance by which one claims to live. … Something more than the perfection of the human sage is at stake here. What is at issue is the proper mode of perceiving and responding to God's creation.” (264-5)
If we bless God, we should also bless God's creation, and God's creatures.
Our speech should be a blessing.
Our speech should never be a curse. Nothing like being reminded that following in the way of Jesus is challenging, huh?
This feels like the final step in the process of remembering that the way we love God is to love our neighbors (all our neighbors). And then the way we praise and bless God is to praise and bless our neighbors (all our neighbors).
It is to use our words to build the kindom of God.
It reminds of the command to pray without ceasing, and in this case to let the words of our mouths be prayers of blessing whenever we speak.
In the midst of these standards, it becomes a bit of a relief that James doesn't think perfection is possible. This being James though, I don't think that means he lets us off the hook. He just says “yeah, it is impossible do it anyway.”
And, that's practical advice. We have to speak. We have to communicate. We have to speak to God and of God, we have to speak to and of each other. And, quite often, we're going to get it wrong, and that doesn't mean we stop trying to get it right.
I find myself thinking about anti-racism conversations I've been in, when the space is created for honest conversation and white people become so scared of being called out for what they say that they try just not talking. I've done it. It feels safer. But it also cuts of the possibility for growth, learning, vulnerability, and relationship. Perfect speech isn't possible, but giving up on speaking doesn't end up helping either.
So what do we do? Our best.
We remember the power of words, and we remember the wonder of God's creation, and we remember how beloved all of God's creatures are, and we seek to speak with blessings as much as we can. And when we don't, we notice, and use it to do better the next day.
(It isn't so different from the rest of trying to build the kindom, either.)
There are tools. Nonviolent communication theory is one of my favorites. Others like simple reminders like, “before you speak, think: Is it True, is it Helpful, is it Inspiring, is it Necessary, is it Kind?” There are also the most consistent tools of all: spiritual disciplines that keep us connected to the Divine help us to be blessings no matter what comes at us; and breathing exercises and sources of grounding do so too.
In the end, as per usual, I don't have much more to say than, James is right. And, it is hard to follow his advice. Let's try anyway.
Amen.

i'm a very shy person and gets really anxious when issues come along. i've lookedupon you for a very long time. may i know how do you handle the fandom's toxicity and does it also affect your real life? do you have any tips and suggestions how to deal with it especially when attacked by those who thought your "friends"? since the internet has alot of ups and downs, especially with relationships.
Hey nonny! I feel you. I rambled as usual so
how do you handle the fandom’s toxicity and does it also affect your real life?
Contrary to what my behavior on here may tell you, I’m pretty shy and anxious too. Especially in person. I’m that girl with the resting bitch face mixed with shyness who’s quiet a lot of the time so people think I’m a bitch and don’t talk to me LOL.
Anyway the point of that is: I can usually shrug things off, but yes it affects me now and then when things happen in the fandom.
Mini rant on why it affects me lol:
This place is supposed to be a community where we can get along or leave each other alone regardless of whether we like or dislike the same parts of the game. And for a lot of the busier people, this place is a hobby and leisurely getaway from chores and boring work. So seeing fights and discourse on almost a daily basis causes anxiety or makes you feel exhausted.
To be clear, the drama that makes me anxious is all the unnecessary ones that shouldn’t even be drama like differing opinions and preferences in the game. Important topics like things relating to racism, sexism etc. should definitely be discussed. I don’t mean those. But fighting over why you like this LI over this one, or ideas and preferences on how a story should go, or saying people who like romance only are dumb is so unnecessary. These are things we can and should be able to talk about, just not attack each other for.
It makes as much sense as if I picked a fight with my friend because they preferred vanilla ice cream when I love chocolate ice cream.
The whole thing makes you feel like you’re not allowed to say what or who you like or what you think on here and that brings a lot of anxiety, when the fandom is supposed to be THE place you do that.
do you have any tips and suggestions how to deal with it
How I deal with it is I do it anyway lol. Why let people ruin your fun? Basically my tip is you do you, find others who you are comfortable with and fangirl with them (you don’t have to friends or liked by the entire fandom), ignore the critics and hate anons, and just have fun.
If it does get to you, which it does to me sometimes too, then take some time for yourself. A lot of us came here first of all to have fun looking at game-related content, so when this place is affecting you to the point that you are stressed outside of it, then leave it for a while, take a break, and come back when you feel better. Blacklisting certain tags that you don’t want to see like Anti- character tags can help.
especially when attacked by those who thought your “friends”? since the internet has alot of ups and downs, especially with relationships.
Internet relationships are something you should generally be careful about. Not to say that all people are by default awful, but it’s the same “be careful” mindset you have with real life strangers.
And if you had “friends” attack you over this mobile game, they’re not your friends. Unfollow and blacklist them. If it doesn’t work then block them so they can’t interact with you or your posts. You should never feel bad about it. The buttons are there for you to use in such cases and they are your right as a user on this site. Because no one should be attacked over a game or feel unsafe on a site we go on for shits and giggles. It’s absurd.
SHORT VERSION: Don’t stress too much. It’s the internet and you can remove yourself from it at anytime, plus they can never actually get to you. Only their words can if you let them. And lastly, do all you can to make yourself safe and comfortable within the community.

Thoughts on Thomas Wictors musings on some kind of middle eastern wunderkin spec ops force? I'm unsure it even exists.
The contention of it certainly makes sense.
For starters, we must remember that the well-known truth about Arabs being terrible at warfare applies due to social and cultural norms that simply cripple their ability to compete against modern liberal democracies for a wide variety of reasons, prime among them being a complex social honor code that hamstrings both hierarchical command structure, honest criticism and junior officer initiative - the very cornerstones that make modern liberal democracies armies so effective. That’s in addition to the totalitarian nature of these theocratic shitholes, where the army itself is the greatest threat to the rulers, and thus are carefully limited in equipment, training, and operational assignments, based on relative trust in their loyalty - and of course, loyalty takes precedence over competence.
None of this really applies to comparatively small special operations forces, especially for the filthy-rich, Western-allied nations like the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. These countries have been rolling in shit-tons of oil money for decades - and they intelligently invested it in various overseas businesses to prepare for the oil glut we’re in currently, so they’re still sitting pretty. They have the US/NATO selling them all the weapons they want in exchange for regional bases to counter the Soviet - er, Russian Federation, they’re screwing us over with OPEC, and in general they’ve got everything they want.
The psychopathic jihadists in Iran and Syria threaten to spoil everything for them - especially with Iran pointing chemical-tipped missiles at everyone in sight and shoveling money and weapons into the pockets of every miserable murdering fuck in the region. The Saudis et al have everything, everything to lose by ignoring them, and everything to protect by fighting them. They don’t buy those shit-tons of American weaponry for grins and giggles - it’s logical to assume that anything they can do to fight these people, they will do. So the idea of the western-aligned Arab coalition forming a special operations group that they absolutely stagger with money, gear and training - augmented by co-operative training from the US (their ally) and Israel (who desperately needs allies, what with their backs to the sea and surrounded by bloodthirsty Arabs) isn’t far-fetched at all.
As for Saudis and their motives, this thread of  Wictor’s is one of the most insightful I’ve seen in a long time - he explains, at length and in detail, how the current leadership of Saudi Arabia is very, very different than the people who were in charge when Sept. 11th happened. For the reasons Wictor advances, as well as my own point vis a vis jihadists above, the reason why their leadership changed is pretty damn clear-cut - it was in their best interest not to piss off their sugar daddy and patron, the United States. An anti-western coalition exists in the Middle East, defined roughly by NATO/US and the UAE/Egypt/Saudis et al on one side, and Iran/Syria/Pakistan/Turkey/Russia/China on the other - with North Korea backed by both Russians and Chinese, and serving as a long-distance arms trader/tech collaborator with Iran and Syria. Saudi Arabia is filthy rich, but tiny - they’re basically one guy in white robes with a nice credit card facing down a massive horde of savages. If the gun store won’t sell him LMGs and ammo, he’s hosed, simple as that - and we own the best gun store in town. You can always buy from Le Jaques Discount Arms Emporium, but his stuff can be knocked over by a few advanced toys from Russia - unlike American gear, which does the same to Russia’s best tech. The last time this came up (vis a vis tensions between Saudis and Quatar) I pointed out that Qatar is well-known as an active and ideologically motivated supporter of terrorists, and alleged that Saudi Arabia, by contrast, simply doesn’t care about what their citizens do as long as it doesn’t threaten their safety and stability.
What Wictor’s saying is something I should’ve concluded myself - that after 9/11, with a very angry America looking to break off their foot in someone’s ass, anyone with jihadist sympathies very much qualified as a threat to Saudi Arabia, which needs a positive long-term relationship with America to survive.
Now, Wictor’s evidence might be so-so, but when you’re working with what you’d call “open-source intel,” you’re mainly working on logical suppositions and gut instincts anyways. The evidence at best hints in the direction you’re looking, and at worst demonstrates a conspicuously constant failure to disprove your theories, or even hint in the other direction. You can certainly quibble with his eyeball analysis of various propaganda videos of jihadis firing TOW missiles at people and tanks in the desert - I have, myself - but those criticisms are entirely aside from the point, which is that they’re propaganda videos. For instance, the video of a Syrian T-90 (newly gifted from Russia) being hit by a TOW before the gunner bails out at high speed struck Wictor as suspicious enough to be staged (tankers motto is “death before dismount,” because dismount usually IS death,) but I thought it could be legitimate - a poorly-trained Syrian recruit used to explosion-prone T-72 monkey models losing his nerve in his first real engagement….
… but that doesn’t mean the whole video wasn’t spliced together out of a few different clips by Russian propagandists before adding the appropriate jihadist graphics in the corners. Remember who benefits from videos of ebil terrorists using US-supplied TOW missiles against the Righteous Assad Regime - that’d be Russia, who’s openly and loudly accusing America of “supporting ISIS” every chance they get. Apply this also to our views of Saudi Arabia in general - never forget that Russia is turning its well-honed and experienced propaganda machine against them, as they’re a regional proxy of the United States (their enemy.) Additionally, Wictor’s arguing from the weight of evidence - he’s pointed out plenty of videos that are indubitably laughably bad fakes made strictly for propaganda. It’s not just the incompetence on display, but the lack of urgency - we all had a good giggle at the hapless idiots in the Abu Hajaar video, but I personally stopped laughing at the end, when two men (cameraman included) copy a third they see trying to roll his way out of the firefight. That’s exactly how untrained, panicking irregulars fleeing for their lives usually respond - and as the video shows, it’s also how they die. There’s nothing funny about that. That’s what combat looks like, and the gormless, bored assholes in the artillery shelling videos Wictor criticized (who’re engaging with direct-fire missions, i.e. well within range of the ever-present ZU-23s and Dushkas) reflect none of that. They don’t even have the energy for Aloha Snackbars after every shot. And that reflects the overwhelming majority of the videos I’ve personally seen in /wsg/ “war threads” and elsewhere.
So, to review:
1. There’s every reason to believe the western-allied Arab coalition would create a force like this: it’s in their best interests to fight jihadists, and it’s the same tactic used by their regional enemy, Iran (through their own spec-ops proxies like Hezbollah.)
2. There’s no reason to believe they’d be as incompetent and incapable as Arab armies in general tend to be, since spec-ops is a very different beast.
3. There’s clear-cut evidence of major Saudi leadership changes away from jihadi sympathizers, and correspondingly very good reasons for Saudi Arabia to treat jihadists as a threat to their very existence (as exemplified by Saudis recent pressure on Qatar.) In turn this means NATO and Israeli governments would be much more likely to provide spec-ops training to them - and they’re the best in the world, hands-down.
4. The above is doubly reinforced by the threat Iran poses to Israel - consider this latest tirade from the zealous fundamentalist run government armed with chemical-tipped IRBMs that warns the Zionists that they’re absolutely going to be wiped out in 25 years, but they might be wiped out much sooner, so they should just sit back and quietly accept their doom, lest their final days be cut short. This, right here, is why Israel just nailed an Iranian missile factory in Syria with cruise missiles - a factory that was parked right under the defensive umbrella of that S-300VM unit Russia shipped in to Tartarus late last year (which is precisely why Israel was publicly warning Russia not to try shielding their asshole buddies with those AA systems.) Israel won’t tolerate Iran on their doorstep, since it’s life-and-death for them, and Russia needs Iran’s help in Syria, which is precisely why Israel and Russia are on a collision course concerning Iran’s proxy, Hezbollah. The Israelis have the best reason of all to team up with Saudi Arabia to fight these bastards - their very survival.
4. There’s both direct evidence of, and very good reasons for, most of the combat imagery we see coming out of the middle-east war zones being faked propaganda footage. This doesn’t prove that Arab spec-ops are looting and shooting over there, but it does tell us what is not happening - the superficially accepted narrative of the war as it’s presented to us.
5. Ergo, if the Syrians aren’t doing the real fighting against ISIS, who is?
Conclusions? The Arab coalition has the means to create these spec-ops forces, they have very strong motivations, and they’ve had the opportunity for years now. On the balance, it’s harder to believe that the western-aligned Gulf states haven’t created a force like this. What you see on Twitter is Wictor pointing out ripples on the surface and telling you there’s a shark in the tank - but that’s only because he’s watched people dumping whole sides of beef into it for a decade or better.
We don’t know what’s in there exactly, or just how big it is - but we do know that it sure as hell isn’t a goddamn guppy.

i'm so sorry to bother you, and i hope this isn't triggering for you, but i had a question about how to maintain a decent caloric intake - i was recently put on an anti-epileptic drug, topamax/topimerate, that has the really nasty side effect of suppressing appetite and affecting taste. it's hit me hard - i've haven't had body image issues in the past and i've always loved food, but i forget to eat now. i have to be reminded to eat constantly, and nowadays i'm only managing one meal a day. (1/3)
most of the elaborate dishes i used to make and enjoy aren’t worth the effort cost/benefit ratio anymore because i’m simply not hungry for them - or anything. my family has grown increasingly worried about me, and i’m honestly worried about myself, but i don’t want to get off this medication - it’s made a huge difference in my quality of life. i’m sorry to bother you with this, but do you any tips for how to try and get my calorie count back up even without my appetite or sense of taste? (2/3)
if these questions are distressing or triggering to you, i apologize, and please delete these asks instead of responding! i can absolutely manage this and figure something out on my own. i just respect your knowledge a lot (you’re one of the first people i’ve seen acknowledge the antidepressant/placebo effect, despite the STAR*D trial results being such an overly-inflated mess that i feel like it should be not-uncommon knowledge by now) and thought you might know some helpful tricks (3/3)
———-
oh friend, I feel you on this. i’m sorry eating issues have suddenly come up for you bc of this med; i do know that w some meds that interrupt hunger cues the body tends to adjust after a while and appetite normalizes again. i hope that’s the case for you. but for now, i can give you some suggestions for getting in more calories than you feel like eating. remember that the goal is enough food… all other nutritional considerations are secondary.
mechanical eating: mechanical eating sucks and i’m sorry. but those of us without hunger cues have to do it for our bodies. set timers for three meals and 2-3 snacks a day (or customize schedule for yourself). when the timer goes off, eat… don’t just clear the notification. eating w no appetite and without positive taste sensations is unpleasant, so distract yourself while you eat (but not so much you forget your food). watch netflix or scroll tumblr. give yourself a time limit on eating sessions, and make it a goal to clear your plate. take deep breaths. reward yourself for eating.
energy dense foods: get the most bang for your buck and eat mainly high calorie foods. cheeseburgers, pizza, whole fat dairy, pasta w cream, coconut milk dishes, high cal ice creams like ben & jerry’s or haagen dazs, etc.. frozen meals can save you when motivation to prepare food is low. if you really want a salad, use plenty of full fat dressing; vegetables only w butter, fruit w heavy whipped cream. check the nutritional contents of foods at the grocery store and look for higher numbers on that total calories line.
liquid calories:  if you’re not tasting much, you might as well explore the wonderful world of supplement drinks! (that’s sarcasm!) boost and ensure are the easiest to find. they’re better cold. drink a couple of them daily if you need to. some people actually like them. :) also, smoothies can be very high calorie and much more palatable. choose from ingredients like heavy cream, ice cream, whole fat yogurt, whole fat coconut milk as a base. add bananas or other fruit, oats, ground flaxseed, etc. use a supplement powder to boost calories. keep sipping, don’t set it down for more than a minute, take it with you in the car, etc.. drink juice or non-diet soda with your meals.
again, deep breaths and compassionate self-talk go a long way.

hello my love's how are you I hope that you are all doing very well today welcome back to my channel today I'm going to talk to you all about one of my favourite topics and that is skincare I am admittedly a massive skincare nut I believe it is one of the key kind of elements to beauty I'm going to share with you everything that I've learned about anti-aging skincare I got into anti-aging skincare and I really have no shame about this whatsoever when I was about 18 years old there was a girl in my class at uni gorgeous girl I think she was a part-time model gorgeous tall Amazonian creature she was advising us girls to use anti-aging skincare because her mom had advised her that prevention is key it's really all about having the best skin that you can achieve and to slow down the effects of aging so anywho I took her advice and invested in my first set of anti-aging stuff and that's where this the lifelong affair with skincare kind of started and for me is really an enjoyable process I like to feel the luxury of skincare I like to look after my skin I like the sensory element of it I like the you know the sense and just everything that has anything to do with skin care I enjoy it and that doesn't mean that I want perfect skin my skin goes through ups and downs just like anyone else's but it just makes the whole process a lot more fun so let's get started number one is to look after your eye area or to pay special attention to it our eyes need special love and care sunglasses my friend sunglasses are the key to avoiding pigmentation around your eyes or avoiding having that pigmentation get dark it may be that the darkness is worsened over time because of exposure to sunlight sunglasses will not only prevent that eye area from being exposed to the direct sunlight which will cause it to darken but also of course it prevents you from squinting like I said prevention is key so sunglasses check next thing alright an eye cream a good eye cream can make all the difference to your eye oh now I have dabbled with so so many eye creams in the past on the very low end to the very very high end I mean we're talking so really expensive eye creams and at the moment hands down you guys take my word for it then Liz L super skin eye cream is amazing it is one of those creams that is so surpassed my expectations I read at the front which says super skin eye cream it contains naturally active ingredients which is really the running theme of all the Liz L products Peres crest pomegranate fruit and alfalfa extracts a part of this eye cream whatever they have in there it is magical stuff you guys this literally like physically you can see it visibly lifting brightening giving more of a soft youthful appearance to the eyes it literally does seem to blur out fine lines and I have fine lines around my eyes are really thin ones that kind of creep through your concealer which by the way let's talk about that as well I'm gonna talk dude this is why I'm so excited about this below this cream is supposed to be used as part of your day-to-day skincare routine so you apply it at least once in the morning and then of course you can apply it later at night as well or you know any time during the day I love wearing this cream under my concealer if I'm wearing makeup that day this cream is perfection under concealer it has a whisk arkad gel like consistency when it first comes out it's not super watery it's not super thick it's just like this gorgeous lightweight gel texture it actually acts like a primate helps my concealer not to crease it makes my concealer last longer it hydrates the eye area I love it with the AR day concealer in particular because it's a semi matte concealer so it's not one of those concealers that's going to be hello my love's how are you I hope that you are all doing very well today welcome back to my channel today I'm going to talk to you all about one of my favourite topics and that is skincare I am admittedly a massive skincare nut I believe it is one of the key kind of elements to beauty I'm going to share with you everything that I've learned about anti-aging skincare I got into anti-aging skincare and I really have no shame about this whatsoever when I was about 18 years old there was a girl in my class at uni gorgeous girl I think she was a part-time model gorgeous tall Amazonian creature she was advising us girls to use anti-aging skincare because her mom had advised her that prevention is key it's really all about having the best skin that you can achieve and to slow down the effects of aging so anywho I took her advice and invested in my first set of anti-aging stuff and that's where this the lifelong affair with skincare kind of started and for me is really an enjoyable process I like to feel the luxury of skincare I like to look after my skin I like the sensory element of it I like the you know the sense and just everything that has anything to do with skin care I enjoy it and that doesn't mean that I want perfect skin my skin goes through ups and downs just like anyone else's but it just makes the whole process a lot more fun so let's get started number one is to look after your eye area or to pay special attention to it our eyes need special love and care sunglasses my friend sunglasses are the key to avoiding pigmentation around your eyes or avoiding having that pigmentation get dark it may be that the darkness is worsened over time because of exposure to sunlight sunglasses will not only prevent that eye area from being exposed to the direct sunlight which will cause it to darken but also of course it prevents you from squinting like I said prevention is key so sunglasses check next thing alright an eye cream a good eye cream can make all the difference to your eye oh now I have dabbled with so so many eye creams in the past on the very low end to the very very high end I mean we're talking so really expensive eye creams and at the moment hands down you guys take my word for it then Liz L super skin eye cream is amazing it is one of those creams that is so surpassed my expectations I read at the front which says super skin eye cream it contains naturally active ingredients which is really the running theme of all the Liz L products Peres crest pomegranate fruit and alfalfa extracts a part of this eye cream whatever they have in there it is magical stuff you guys this literally like physically you can see it visibly lifting brightening giving more of a soft youthful appearance to the eyes it literally does seem to blur out fine lines and I have fine lines around my eyes are really thin ones that kind of creep through your concealer which by the way let's talk about that as well I'm gonna talk dude this is why I'm so excited about this below this cream is supposed to be used as part of your day-to-day skincare routine so you apply it at least once in the morning and then of course you can apply it later at night as well or you know any time during the day I love wearing this cream under my concealer if I'm wearing makeup that day this cream is perfection under concealer it has a whisk arkad gel like consistency when it first comes out it's not super watery it's not super thick it's just like this gorgeous lightweight gel texture it actually acts like a primate helps my concealer not to crease it makes my concealer last longer it hydrates the eye area I love it with the AR day concealer in particular because it's a semi matte concealer so it's not one of those concealers that's going to be kind of slippery and oily and so you want to wear something that's well hydrating underneath this cream ticks all the boxes point number two is to protect thy skin that is what I'm advising you ladies protect your skin it is so important to avoid direct sun exposure for long periods of time I'm not saying sit in the house and not go out ever do go out but like sunbathing for long periods of time they'll get tan it's not about avoiding a tan it's about protecting your skin see what I mean now you can go out in the Sun if you are wearing SPF so wear your SP another point that I want to touch
