For someone who had only heard of the Bolt franchise a few months ago, Hunter had rapidly become one of its biggest fans. He watched Bolt, then Bolt 2: Mission Impawsible, then all four seasons Stormy and Bolt on Sidney Plus, and also the two Stormy and Bolt made-for-TV movies. He didn’t consider himself a “stan” as Pip was prone to saying, but he was very impressed with the way that Penny Forrester’s magic played a role in the franchise as a whole and how that meant that her animal co-stars had more say in their roles than in most movies. 

Naturally, Hunter was very excited about Olive Bright, Pigeoneer. Not just because Penny was a talented actress — but because of the birds!

He’d shared his excitement on social media and had been absolutely delighted when Penny replied to him. And said she’d show her co-stars some of the pigeon cartoons he’d found! He was very tickled by this prospect and continued to share more of the very good pigeon content he found online… till one day Penny invited him to chat with her co-stars! 

Hunter couldn’t believe it! He was stunned! Excited! Thrilled!

So, here he was, entering Ruff to Fluff, with some fun pigeon cartoons he had printed out on using the Pride University library printer.

I've been working on figuring myself out again since returning from a two year hiatus in regards to considering myself to be dragonkin (turns out truth floats when you subconsciously try to push it under the water, go figure; I'm sure I'll post more on this another time). It's been naturally slow going, and it's been tough separating these findings from the dragon I once thought myself to be and the sona I designed in that hiatus I had.

There are things from each that seem to ring true -- the green eyes of my ol' dragon, the dark grey or black scales-or-scutes-or-something on the chest and belly of my sona, the horns of my old dragon self, the ears of my sona, and so on. So through the feelings on each part, and through instincts and mannerisms and such, I've been piecing together this dragon I am, no matter whether it's psychological in origin or spiritual (frankly I can't heckin' tell as things are).

But there's something I just realized tonight! The things I've ended up settling on being true to me about this dragon form o' mine... aren't really new at all. See, when my species dysphoria returned and hit me like a truck, a friend of mine was kind enough to do some hypnosis with me so I could have some time exploring the instincts I was just starting to feel around that same time and to relieve the dysphoria. In the session, he didn't get into the form itself really at all, he left that up to me and my mind. Curiously, and I knew this at the time, the form I saw in that session didn't match any I'd seen myself as prior. I kinda wrote it off though, given I wasn't looking for a form, just relief. But I realized that most of what I'm finding today match that form I saw in that session! The green eyes, the dark green scales with the dark grey or black chest/belly, the horns and ears with no frills, the smooth tail... It's very curious that they just so happened to line up pretty perfectly, I think the only thing off was the exact shade of the scales. Figuring it out further will certainly be a treat. Especially when it comes to whatever the deal is with my left arm, that was something I felt way back in the day and was something I was surprised to feel again during the aforementioned hypnosis session. That's been a tricky one to figure out. Progress though, I think!

I think it's important to remember that the vast majority of human existence does not take place on the internet or through a phone screen. "But it sure seems like it does" when? When you are on the internet or staring at your phone? "But everyone says it does" and who says that? The people on the internet? Next time you are offline, even very briefly (driving, grocery shopping, whatever), try being aware in those moments and not just drifting around in a half-asleep pause between internet sessions, and then tell me where you think the world is.

In Gaza, journalists are passing out from exhaustion and famine. Despite the ICJ ruling, the US and Australia are intentionally defunding UNWRA based on baseless claims by Israel that members of the aid group are Hamas-sympathizers. Netanyahu, of course, has ignored the ICJ ruling. Israel has banned insulin pens from arriving in Gaza, a particularly cruel and inhumane crime to add to their laundry list of offences. Nothing has changed, and things are getting worse.

It is not that hard to not buy things. To not watch things. Perhaps it is inconvenient, and makes you go out of your way, and costs a little more to buy alternatives. But if you were to attend a funeral a day for every child that has died in Gaza so far, it would take you over 27 years. When the worst that will happen to you is that you don't watch a TV show featuring a zionist, you don't buy a specific brand that donates to and supports zionism, how could that possibly compare to the plight of Palestinians who must amputate limbs without anesthesia?

Once again, this is the BDS list of brands to boycott.
