xiao might not be considered clingy by many people but it's only because he shows it in quiet ways.

it's in the way his palm lingers on her back when he leads her somewhere or protectively places his hand on her waist before dragging her just a tiny bit closer to himself as if he wants to show everyone that she's his. the bond between them is too deep to ever erase it - they both know it all too well - yet it doesn't stop emotions inside him from simmering right under the seemingly indifferent surface. he thinks it makes his blood boil sometimes. the thought that someone would dare to wish to be with his girlfriend.

it's in the way xiao tiptoes to the kitchen early in the morning because the bed was cold and empty when he woke up; and he needs to find lumine. with his half-lidded eyes he finds her and then, instinctively wraps his arms around her body. his chest is pressed against her back and as her warmth seeps through the clothes into his skin, he breathes her in. his nose brushes against her neck and then, presses a soft kiss against her pulse, the corners of his lips turning upwards. she shivers ever slightly, overwhelmed by the sudden sensation, but doesn't make any moves to break free.

it's in the way xiao mindlessly reaches out to brush strands of lumine's hair off her face when she focused too much on the work. the way - driven by an impulse, an instinct more than a conscious thought - he kisses the pout off her face because he hates to see her sad, even over something insignificant. the way his fingers tap against her thigh when they watch one of lumine's favourite movies - she tells him she can't focus because of that but doesn't necessarily try to push him away...

...well, not that she could. because the very moment xiao notices a faint brush creeping its way onto her face, he knows it will be hard to hold onto the last resorts of his self-control. she looks so pretty - with her eyes gleaming illuminated by the faint light from the tv, messy hair and parted lips that seem to lure him in.

and somehow, just like that, he needs to feel them against his. he needs to hear her whisper her name in that quiet breathy tone that makes him lose his mind just a little bit. xiao needs lumine to focus on solely on him, send him a small smile that would make the time stop and his heartbeat to speed up. he wants to feel her skin against his own, slide his lips over her jawline, kiss his way down her neck and leave a few crimson marks - his marks - on her collarbones and chest.

and maybe somewhere on her inner thighs, too; because he knows it will drive her insane - ignite the same strange fire he feels burning deep within his chest - to feel his fangs grazing against her sensitive flesh right before he bites it down; right before his tongue swipes over the wound, over the bare skin he yearns to touch more–

xiao has never considered himself to be a clingy person. especially after all the years he's spent all alone; he's used to it.

but when lumine is with him, he might never get enough of their closure.

Something that bugs me is that, they were complaining that the fandom, outside of drawing Mono and Six, only ever draws Mono and Seven and like.... WHERE!!!SHOW ME!!! that's the entire point I made the comic! There was no art of Seven and Mono!!! They're characters who never meet, so no one ever really drew them together back then, at least, not so thoroughly to explore a dynamic with them. Granted Five / Raincoat girl isn't given the same treatment, but that's because she's from the inferior mobile game! And you couldn't get a read on her personality because there was a lack of cutscenes for her!

They're complaining about a fandom making content that isn't catered towards them, and that's just ridiculous!

夜に駆ける (Racing Into the Night) by YOASOBI - Deep dive

TW for suicide !!!

The song Racing Into the Night by YOASOBI is based on a short story called Seduction of Thanatos. In the story, the people in modern society are said to be governed by either Eros (the desire to live) or Thanatos (the desire to die). The narrator is a man who finds himself in love with a woman of the latter type. On multiple occasions the woman has attempted suicide, going to the roof of the apartment complex where they live and crossing the safety fence. Before she falls, though, she always sends her lover a "goodbye" message and waits patiently for him to arrive. So he finds her on the roof, coaxes her back to the correct side of the fence, and tries his best to continue their everyday lives, until the same cycle happens again.

A rare symptom of being governed by Thanatos is the ability to see the god himself, who appears to the victim as a hallucination of their ideal person, constantly seducing them to their demise. The woman in the story is one of those kinds. Now and then, she would stare into the air, her warm and loving gaze directed at nothing. Her lover hates it when she gets like this. She looks at a hallucination instead of looking at him, and before you know it, she's on the rooftop again.

This reflects the ancient idea of Thanatos being an elusive figure, since normal people governed by Eros cannot see him. The narrator represents Eros, desperately trying to pull his lover back from the clutches of Thanatos. This parallels the philosophical concept of these two opposing forces perpetually vying for control. In essence, this short story/song uses a modern narrative of a suicidal woman to represent the ancient concept of Thanatos. It highlights the seductive nature of the death drive, its conflict with the life drive, and the cyclical nature of its influence. 

Near the end of the story, the tension climaxes when, yet again, the narrator goes to the rooftop to stop the girl from committing suicide. But this time, she refuses to get down. They're both tired of this cycle. They both can't take anymore. They both want it to end. The woman firmly tells him that she wants to die, and he impulsively replies, "I want to die too!" 

Because how can he keep living when his love wants to die? Nothing he says will change her mind. She doesn't have a coat to bear the winter like he does. Can he really ask her keep standing in the cold with him? No. He would rather die than live knowing that she is in constant pain.

Upon hearing that thoughtless sentence from him, for the very first time, she smiles. Looking at her expression, he finally realizes. All he has ever wanted was for her to be happy, and now he's found what will bring that happiness. The woman always messaged and waited for him on the roof, not because she wanted to be stopped, but because she wanted him to come with her. So on this occasion, he is the one who crosses the fence and takes her hand, and with the stars in the sky as their only witnesses, together they race into the night.

To everybody else, though, only one individual fell from the sky. From that apartment complex, it was one person, not two, who tragically took their life. Some may have assumed that the man chose to jump because of workplace abuse or exorbitant debt, but the truth is simple. From the very beginning, he was the one governed by Thanatos, and she was his angel of death.
