Seeing people complain about the Speak Now vault tracks being too teenagery …. gee, you’d almost think a teenager wrote them /s

my single dorm, my senior year, 2024-2025
#i wanted to take a moment to cherish my room#this space is my pride and joy#it may not be large but i fill it with so much love that i#i love when people come to visit and the first thing they comment is how nice it smells#they compliment my walls that my friend so generously put together for me because i was too overwhelmed by the white walls and endless#posters and papers and art and scraps but she simply saw it as a puzzle and did it happily#she occasionally asked my opinion or i asked if she could make an adjustment and it was just such a breather because it felt nice to be#taken care of in some way yknow?#anywho i also like to make sure everyone has a place to sit#ive got a bean bag and my desk chair but i always offer my bed as long as theres no outside clothes in my sheets#my lights took AGES to put up because i did it myself#i was standing on my bed and then my desk and then a chair and then spidermaning the wall putting up thr wires with command strips and#then wrapping them on plastic hooks around the room ONLY FOR THE COMMAND STRIPS TO FAIL ANYWAYS#so like im glad my backup worked but i worked so hard 🤧#i (almost) always wanna have something on the tv or i’ve got a speaker that places music and i always offer a snack and UGH#i just love making people feel seen and cared for and GOOD when they’re with me it makes me feel so fulfilled and brings me so much joy#i realized when i was with my friend the other night i cooked her dinner and let her just enjoy herself and she was like this is really nice#i love quality time and acts of service#those are my favorite#and i think i try to cultivate a space that reflects that#i hope it’s inviting and makes people feel safe#i love when people ask questions about things on my walls or if they can look at my shelfs#my room is a museum of myself <3 i couldn’t be happier than for you to look at it and get to know me through my things and wow#i just love being a safe space#and this is my last semester at my school so i feel like my room today is an amalgam of my experience over the four years of who i have been#and who i became and how i GOT here. wow. heavy on that shit#it’s just really beautiful though#cause i carry my experiences with me everyday and i’m learning to build from them instead of let them sink me and it’s taken SO LONG to get#but im happy and i love my room and i wanted to share it

Question 9. How did you get into writing fanfiction?
Okay I have to be brutally honest here, my first fanfic I ever wrote was when I was 14, and it’s a Walking Dead wingfic (unsurprisingly) in first-person 😭 It’s also incomplete and will likely never be completed snsksn
How did I get into writing fanfic though? That goes way back to when I was in single digits still. I used to ‘write’ all these silly and extremely angsty stories in my head before I went to sleep (super young me used to LOVE torturing Luigi XD). At the time, I never wrote any of the ideas down, and they tended to be super repetitive in that I would explore mainly the same scene, sometimes moving further.
And then I was introduced to fanfiction and it was like a lightbulb went off. I grabbed my shitty old iPad I won in a competition, cracked open the notes app, and went hogwild with it. And I haven’t really stopped writing fanfiction since! Even though I do also write original stories now too, fanfiction holds a dear place in my heart for how much it helped me get through and process as a teenager. And yes, I will still be writing it at the age of 95! Nothing can stop me from hurting my blorbos >:)
#I really really like this one#it got me thinking back to when I *really* started writing fanfiction#and not just literally writing it too#if I’m honest I think I was making fic in my head for Land Before Time LOL#I was also a very obsessive child#I used to watch the same movie over and over and over and probably picked apart the story in the time#honestly being introduced to ‘formal’ fanfic sent fireworks off in my brain and I’m so glad it happened#fun fact! though I started writing fic at 14 I did not post anything for a good couple of years#but I am not sharing my fanfic net account SORRY they’re inspired stories but they are not well written snsksn#my first ao3 post was when I was 19 iirc correctly though!#and I haven’t stopped since#ALSO THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE I MEANT TO RESPOND TO THIS A WEEK AGO#Life and uni T.T#asks#faye talks#faye rambles#OH if you want a bit of lore I got into LU at the age of 20 (I’m almost 25 now) and started writing fic barely a week later XD#and I’m still writing fic for it now!#I’m obsessed and im starting to think LU/LoZ may have become a special interest somewhere down the line#which I’m glad for! it means I can keep writing my silly little fics for this fandom#okay I can talk a lot BYEEEE

lol who knows, i’m sure just some shippy joe and ja’marr stuff (or jamaar as they said, because i guess they “respect” him enough to not want any fanfiction about him and joe, but not enough to spell his name correctly 🫠)
listen, to me, it’s fine if you think it’s weird to ship them. it is! this is a site full of very weird people! and it’s also completely harmless. but the irony of then yourself being very into x reader/self insert stuff with the same people?? and saying one is bad and the other is good (but WHAT could the difference between the two be?? 🙄) the cognitive dissonance here is WILD. either say all fic is disrespectful or none of it is.

probably an unpopular opinion but people really should refrain from correcting artist’s artworks
#I’ve definitely been guilty of this in the past#of which I’m pretty embarrassed about#but it costs you nothing to just not saying anything#or make criticism even if it’s contructive#unless they ask#to share one’s art can really vulnerable#and speaking as an artist a LOT of us don’t post everything we make#why??#because it’s not always easy putting yourself out there!#so if someone gets an eye color slightly wrong#or you think their nose is too big#they’re clothes are out of period#whatever it is#just let it go#to clarify#whitewashing and culture offensives are different#but you can also always unfollow or block#or send a private message in good faith to educate them#but please for the love of god stop criticizing artists publically
