I liked working in care a lot, and it's a job that benefits me. I learned sensitivity and people skills, I obtained a frank and honest relationship wih bodies and ageing, and I gained a genuine appreciation for the rights and dignity of people that I never used to spare a thought for. The work itself wasn't bad, the company was. If it paid better and the work wasn't as genuinely injurious due to the way things are done, I'd still be happily doing it, and would do it forever

What the food pantry is really bad at doing:

- giving me food I can make into proper meals for the week

Oh you want juice? Here’s 2 little juice boxes. Nothing else; they’re limited. You want pasta sauce? 1 can; limited. You want produce? 2 produce item limit, except for the apples which are starting to spoil. You can have all of those. You want frozen chicken? One container only. Oh, they’re all stuck together and frozen? Sorry, you can’t have two; no chicken, I guess. Pasta? One box only. Rice? Two small bags, max. Breakfast bars? Yeahhhh, those are a snack, and you can only have five snacks, total. But if you put those pop tarts back, you could have some! Oh, you want donuts instead? Sure! But that’s a bakery item, and you can only have one baked good, so you’re gonna need to put that bread back. You want ziploc bags? Here, have two. Not two boxes, two bags. Item limits. Sorry. You can come back next week!

How the fuck are people supposed to actually *use* these things for weekly meal planning if there’s not enough to last a week???

I swear I am grateful for these resources I’m sure they’re doing the best they can with what they have I’m just *frustrated*. I’m trying to spend less on groceries bc I can’t really afford them. It’s nice that the food pantry gives me these small portions to last me a couple days. But that still leaves several days with not enough food unless I’m really creative or go grocery shopping, and I simply do not have the energy or time to be really creative.

Oh gosh I really wasn't planning to elaborate but uh I added them in the background originally because it was from a conversation I heard of four streamers. One of them - who had under five hours - said "wait, you have 40 hours?" to one of the others who immediately replied "yeahI'mavirgin" and there was a slight pause then the guy (who I drew as Connor) said "oh. well." with another pause and the other two just kinda had "damn/oof" vibes but didn't really have a comment I remember distinctly.

So I'd like to consider it a side eye of either "wow that's a lot" or "shh, don't talk about the hours we've crammed into games in the past" considering Gavin and Chris are both Gen Z. It's very likely they're thinking "how is 40 in a week offensive" based on that alone!

Or, the other option I briefly thought about to make it more different than the streaming answer was having Chris say "wasn't he activated like a week ago"... which would be the side eye of "when did he have time to play 40 hours of Mario Party" instead.

Something I've noticed while watching boobtubers like Rev and the like: a lot of their userbase in the comments bitch about leftists as if we're the ones coming for their waifus...

There are unhinged anti leftists and there are unhinged anti rightoids (most of the not-terminally-online alt-right would fall under that category--again, see Project 2025. Yes, there are much more pressing issues in that document than anime waifus and fictional content, but anime waifus and a good chunk of fictional content would still be banned for being 'immoral,' so~).

And--well, most of the proship-aligned persons I see tend to fall under the purview of "liberal, at worst." The grand majority of the people I'm moots with on main are leftists, socialists, and commies, and they're largely pro-kink, pro-fiction, anti-censorship.

Like, for the most part, we're not the ones responsible for the big ol' hammer of puritanism coming down on the vidya games or anything else, for that matter.

(Liberals, though... Yeah, fine, they tend to promote tokenism under the guise of diversity and tend to go on those funny little moral crusades almost as much as staunch conservatives--I see them throwing around the term "degenerate" almost as much too, in some online spaces--but it only proves the adage "scratch a lib and a fash bleeds" blah blah.)
