Crow’s shrines were never elaborate, nor would they like it that way. All he needed was a simple, golden scale with whatever trinkets their worshippers thought were best to offer. Justice would answer their prayers.
And yet, for a hundred and fifty years, Crow left the prayers unanswered.
Their grief over the sudden death of two friends left the god shattered into pieces. All the prayers they had received were nothing more than whispers in the night, and even an outcry could not overpower the flood of Crow’s own tears. As the years past, the offerings slowly trickled down until Crow received nothing more than an old candy wrapper.
And yet, a young girl persisted in making offerings. At first, Justice didn’t pay much attention to the efforts, but turned his head out of curiosity as the girl grew older. Why was she doing this? Was anyone telling her that there wasn’t a point anymore? That the god had abandoned them?
Crow watched as with each passing year, the girl continued to bring trinkets to any one of his shrines without a prayer asking for their help.
And maybe this was the push that had gotten the god out of their rut and back into fighting tyrants, just as they always done before.
As more decades passed, Crow could hear the old prayers grow past the once-tiny whispers, answering each plea for help. The number of trinkets amassed from their shrine offerings slowly returned to its usual numbers, but he could distinguish the girl’s offerings from the rest. She didn’t miss a single year, either.
By the time the now elderly woman was reaching her end, she noticed someone knocking on her door, and opened it.
“May I help you, sir?” She asked warmly.
“No, no. I’m just briefly passing by, if you don’t mind?”
“Of course, dear. Have a seat.”
Crow slowly moved inside, observing the room around them until he spotted his shrine: the simple, golden scale, as the old lady placed a small chocolate in front of it.
“Don’t mind this. I’ve had this tradition since I was a little girl,” she explained, “I’ve been told only to gift to Justice’s shrine if I needed help from him, but I’m sure they don’t mind a normal offering.”
So that was why she left trinkets without a prayer. Crow tilted their head with mild curiosity and content.
“How did you find out about him? Didn’t they vanish for a while?”
“Oh, yes, that’s what everyone else kept saying!” The lady chuckled, “But even if he were gone forever, it still wouldn’t hurt, would it?”
There was a moment of silence from Crow. The god wasn’t expecting such an answer.
“… and what would you do if they were sitting here with you at this moment?”
“Oh, just treat him like any other guest! Why do you ask?”
“Well…”
Crow stood and took an object out of his pocket, revealing an old candy wrapper.
“I don’t know if this is enough proof to show that I am Justice, but I wanted to swing by and say thanks. I was in a rough spot when I noticed you were leaving offerings at my shrines.”
The god placed the wrapper back in his pocket before slowly clasping his hands around the old woman’s.
“From this moment forward, you and your family have my protection and blessing. No tyrant or bully can harm you as long as your bloodline lasts.”
The old lady stood in stunned silence, processing what she had just heard. From what she heard, Justice rarely, if ever, gave anyone his blessing, so to even be gifted it herself…
The woman simply smiled in gratitude.
“It’s an honour, sir.”
While other god's shrines are magnificent, yours is a bit too humbling. And yet a little girl visits you every year after stumbling upon it, never missing a year even as she grows old. Deeply moved, you decide to give her a parting gift greater than what any other God would dare to give.

Hey girl!
Love your work, especially the Dae-ho stuff and I’m so glad I found your page!!!!
If I can, can I request more smut… WHO SAID THAT
I don’t know if you need an idea, maybe if you do what I’d Dae-ho and fem reader are in an established relationship and they haven’t had sex in a WHILE, you got it from there ;)
-🦑
Omg I’m so sorry I didn’t see this but yes >:)
𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐬 (18+)
[𝐃𝐚𝐞-𝐇𝐨 𝐗 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫]
Summary: You and Dae-Ho have been extraordinarily busy trying to stay afloat from all the debt. It led to long days, and shorter nights. Both of you spending less and less time with each other. But one argument actually helps release some long built tension :)
Warnings: Smut, Minor arguing, angry turned passionate sex, kitchen fucking, p in v, fingering, unprotected sex,
Word Count: 1,703
Your shoulders slack as you finally get home, holding your purse close to you as a reminder to stay awake. It was a long night at work. Your eyes stung from the dryness. You fumble for the keys to your shared apartment with your boyfriend, Dae-Ho. Debt had been weighing heavily on both your shoulders and his. Many times did you come home to your lover already asleep, and many times did you wake up to an empty bed.
Entering your home, you’re surprised to see the living room light still on. Dae-Ho was sitting at the dining table, back hunched slightly over his laptop. He turns to see you arrive, squinting his eyes and then rubbing them.
“Hi, honey. Wow, is it that late already?”
He checks the clock on the screen. You nod, rubbing your head. A migraine had creeped its way to the left side of your skull. You flick on the kitchen light to get yourself some water. But you’re greeted by a ghastly sight, dirty dishes stacked up in the sink. The chronic stress you were under turned your minor irritation into full frustration.
“Dae-Ho, I thought I told you to clean that…!”
You pinch the bridge of your nose. Dae-Ho leans back in his chair, getting scolded making it harder for him to not get defensive.
“‘m sorry, I thought I did it already. I have a lot of stuff to do too, you know.”
His tone made him come off a little more self justifying than he intended, which further amplified your annoyance. You hum, looking to the ground.
“Oh, yeah, I’m sure.” You mutter sarcastically. Dae-Ho’s eyebrows furrow as you go and grab a glass. “What’s that supposed to mean?” He sat up a bit straighter. “It means I’m not the one in 250 mil debt, Dae-Ho!” You knew you’d regret being so harsh but right now you couldn’t care less. A dry chuckle leaves his lips. “Don’t act so innocent. You’re in mil debt territory too!”
“I just wanna come home to a clean house!”
“You want me to do it so bad? Fine!”
Dae-Ho gets up from his seat and storms to the sink. “Y’know more than half of these are yours, though.” He’d say quietly, wanting an end to the conflict but also wanting to get that point across. You grip at your hair, your teeth grit. “Why are you making this so difficult? You think I like coming home super late and being so tired I can’t do anything but crawl in bed? I miss you!” You raise your voice, but lowering your volume mid shout. As angry as you were, you didn’t forget your boyfriend’s discomfort with shouting and aggression.
He’s about to turn on the sink, still heated. “I miss you too—!” Until he saw you pulling your hair, making him instinctively grab your wrist. “Stop that-!”
You jerk, trying to release yourself. “I wouldn’t be this pissed off if you had just did what you said!” Your struggling made you step back, now feeling the cold kitchen counter on your back.
“You think I like going to bed alone too? Barely being able to see you, huh?!”
His breath is hot on your face, the close proximity being mere inches. You find yourself staring up at him. Being pinned to the counter, his rough grip on your wrist, it made a certain heat rise in your stomach. You both don’t say anything for a few minutes, just glaring at each other. Until you use your free hand to grab the side of his neck and pull him in for a searing kiss.
Dae-Ho makes a surprised sound before reciprocating, groaning against your lips. He lets go of your wrist, instead choosing to grab your hips and pull you closer to his body. He presses you further against the counter, making you moan lightly as you had your hands tangled in his hair.
You lift a leg up, giving Dae-Ho a chance to grab your under thigh and lift your leg higher. You feel his bulge against your wet core, he was already getting hard. Had it really been that long since you two have done it?
You hook your leg around his waist, grinding against his body. A deep rumble leaves Dae-Ho’s throat, he pulls back, a string of saliva connecting you both. “Fuck…” He pants for air. Disappointment and anxiety creeped up faster than you could’ve imagined. This was the first time you two were this passionate in awhile. You couldn’t let him pull away now.
You grab the cuff of his shirt and yank him back toward you. Oh that shirt, you always hated it. The design reminded you of some clown graffiti you’d see in a sketchy part of town. You’d rather see your boyfriend without it on.
As you kiss him again, you slide your hands up underneath his shirt. His skin was hot, his hips stuttered as you ran your fingers over his abs. Dae-Ho shuddered a little. But he leaned closer, his tongue dancing along with yours. He’d attempt to speak to you in between your hot temperature kisses.
“Wait—is this… okay?”
You cup his cheeks and look him in the eyes, you could see you both were much less angry. But the passion brewing was one you couldn’t let simmer. You needed that shit to over boil.
“Dae-Ho. Fuck me. Now.”
Dae-Ho did not have to be told twice as he dived back into your lips. The passionate exchange only broken for a moment as you made him take that ghastly shirt off. His hand slowly slid down your pants as your hands slid around his neck. Dae-Ho groans in your mouth as his hand feels your soaking folds. You whimper in pleasure, trying to somehow get closer to him. He starts to rub your clit in smooth slow circles. You whine out, Dae-Ho letting your sounds fill the room so he could hear you clearly. His mouth was slightly open, as if mimicking the shape your mouth was making.
He slips in a finger, curling it and making you bite your lip. Dae-Ho thumbs the bottom of your lip. He leans in close.
“Don’t. I wanna hear you.”
His tongue swirls around yours before his lips connect for a quick peck. He inserts another finger, now drawing out all your sounds. He plunged them in and out of you in a steady rhythm. You still had both your hands on the back of his neck.
“Fuck… fuck, fuck… Dae-Ho…!” You couldn’t take it, you needed more. You took off your shirt, and aggressively pulled down your bottoms. You’re left in just your bra and underwear for him. His fingers didn’t leave your dripping cunt, continuously finger fucking you. You felt yourself getting close, but this isn’t how you wanted to go. “Dae-Ho~! Get… inside!” Your command somehow made the male even harder, his cock stirring in his pants.
He removes his fingers so he could lift you up onto the kitchen counter. While you desperately removed your panties, he took off his pants and got his member free.
Dae-Ho lines up with your entrance. Your wetness being more than needed for a lubricant. “Fuck, you’re so wet. All this cause of me?” He’d remark with a light cocky smirk. You glare up at him, still needing your nerves fucked out of you.
“Shut up.”
The male narrows his eyes and enters you with one thrust, bottoming out. You cry out, wet enough where it didn’t hurt, just raw pleasure. “Oh fuck—!” You choke on your own words. Dae-Ho barely gives a moment to adjust as he starts ramming into you at a fast pace. Pumped full with adrenaline, you didn’t mind at all. It almost felt like having sex for the first time. But you’ve never felt Dae-Ho’s thrust so desperately before. He had his hands on your hips, pushing you further down on him to meet every thrust. You were seeing stars, almost drifting away from the feeling. But then, you hear a,
“I love you.”
Dae-Ho was looking at you with a deep sincerity. You gaze into his eyes. Of course, now you remember, you were fighting. Your heart grew so full. You cup his face, and lull him closer.
“I-I love you too!”
You both kiss lovingly, now out of pure passion and love for each other, than out of lust. His rhythm struck slightly out of order, and you knew he was close. Before you could even hold out for him though, you come undone. You cry out his name, your head arched toward the ceiling. Dae-Ho sped up, his thrusts sloppy, but yearning.
“(Y,n)… (Y,n)…! Shit…!”
He lets out a held back roar, finishing inside of you. You cling onto him, whining with broken gasps. Your hands drift from his back to his shoulders as the two of you calm down.
Panting, Dae-Ho rests his head against your collarbone. You weakly rub his head, closing your eyes. He slowly comes out of you, creating a light squelching sound.
“Don’t be mad…I love you.”
His tone was soft, hesitant. You recognized this vulnerability from him, and slowly wrap your arms around him. “I love you too…” You say sincerely. Dae-Ho doesn’t say anything back, but he does scoop you up bridal style in his arms.
You’re carried back to your bed, and he lays beside you. It was late, and you were more than happy to get some rest after that. You can safely say you’re no longer angry. To double check on that, Dae-Ho mumbles,
“I’ll do the dishes in the morning, I promise.”
He gently pushes a strand of hair from your face. You scoot closer, signaling your boyfriend to embrace you in his open arms. He plants a kiss on your head. You listen to his heartbeat, the way it beat so fast.
“I’m sorry…”
“…I’m sorry too…”
The two of you lay there together, drifting off into a well needed slumber. But for the first time in awhile, you felt like your relationship with your lover was secure. And how, that’s one way to get out of doing dishes.

۶♡ৎ Ex!Boyfriend!Rafe Eating Your Ass ۶♡ৎ
Cheating (not on reader), ass eating, fingering, choking, hair pulling, daddy kink, spit kink, anal, possessiveness, Rafe and reader are low key toxic for each other 18+MDNI!
(I read this fic by @novashelby and it had me really thinkin bout ass eating so shout out to her for thaaaat)
“I knew you fuckin’ missed me, baby.” You can hear the smirk on Rafe’s voice even if you can’t see it. He has you face down on his expensive sheets with his large hand pressing the side of your head into the mattress. “You might not want to admit it, but how wet your pussy is for me, says it all.”
Rafe chuckles as he kneels behind you, running his fingers through your dripping folds. You hate that he’s right, you always end up bent over for him no matter how many times you tell yourself it’s the last time. He always pulls you back.
“You know you can’t stay away from me. You always come runnin’ back for more.” Rafe dips the tips of his fingers into your dripping cunt before running his wet fingers on your clit. He teases your pussy with his thumb, letting you get lost in the pleasure long enough to pull it away from you and land a harsh smack on your clit. It makes you squeal and try to close your legs on instinct but Rafe keeps them open with his knee. “It’s cause you know that lil boyfriend of yours will never fuck you like I do.”
“You don’t know anything about him-“ Rafe lands another harsh smack on your pussy and laughs at the way you squirm and squeal.
“Yeah? I know if he was keeping you satisfied you wouldn’t be bent over like a fuckin’ whore for me.” He smacks your pussy again, this time following it with a spank so hard on your ass you’re sure it left an immediate handprint. “Plus you’re drippin’ f’me.”
Rafe runs the tips of his fingers along your pussy, wetting them with your juices. He traces your lips and your clit before sliding his hand up to your asshole and circling it with his pointer finger. “Bet you don’t let him play with your ass, do you, baby? This hole is just for daddy, right?”
“Raaafe, Shut up.” You whine into the mattress, embarrassed by the truth in his words. You told your new boyfriend you weren’t into anal when the truth was you just weren’t into it with anyone that wasn’t Rafe. There’s a lot of things you only trust him to do and that’s why you can’t give him up. He’s so fucking toxic but he fucks you like he loves you and hates you all in the same vein and it’s like you’re addicted to him. Rafe spanks you with his free hand, pulling a little yelp from you that makes his cock jump.
“Drop the fuckin’ attitude, doll. That shit might fly with your gamer bitch boy boyfriend, but that’s not how we do things around here.” He spanks you again before thrusting two fingers knuckle deep inside you. He curls them just right, he always knew how to work you like you were his favorite toy. He presses his thumb on your clit, rubbing slow circles around it. Rafe grabs the globe of your ass with his other hand, pulling you open for him. He leans down and lets a line of spit drip from his mouth directly onto your asshole. “Miss this sexy little ass, you gonna let me eat it from the back, for old times sake?”
“You’re lucky to even have me in your bed-“ Rafe pulls his fingers from inside you to wrap his hand around your throat and pull you up against his chest.
“Nah, that’s not how we’re gonna play it, princess.” Rafe grits into your ear. “We both know you want it, so just admit it. Say ‘yes daddy I want you to eat my ass and treat me like the whore I am.’ Say it or I won’t fuckin’ touch you.”
“Fuck, please?” Rafe’s hand tightens on your throat as he leans down to sink his teeth into your shoulder. The pain sends a jolt straight to your already throbbing pussy.
“That’s not what I said, is it? Beg slut, beg me to eat your pathetic little asshole.” You can feel Rafe’s sinister smirk against your skin and you hate that you’re going to do exactly what he says because you aren’t leaving here without it.
“Please eat my ass daddy? Please? I’ll be so good, I’m sorry for having a bad attitude.” You pout your lips and look over your shoulder at him and god if you didn’t want him to touch you so bad you would probably punch that smug look right off his beautiful face.
“That’s my girl.” Rafe snickers before pushing your head back into the mattress. He grips onto your asscheeks, pulling them apart and spitting onto your hole again. The warm liquid drips down your pussy and onto your clit, sending a shiver down your spine. He rubs his thumb in little circles around your hole, pushing it in every so slightly and then he leans down and licks from your clit all the way to your asshole. “Missed this ass so bad, you gotta stop depriving me, baby.”
Rafe mumbles into your pussy as he runs his tongue back down your clit before laying it flat and running it across your asshole. He licks you greedily, sliding his tongue between your cheeks and teasing your pussy. He circles your ass with his tongue and then pokes it inside you, flicking it in your tight walls.
“Oh fuck.” You moan into the sheets as Rafe fucks your ass with his tongue. He switches between circles and flicks of it inside of you, making you drip with his spit as your pussy clenches around nothing. And almost as if he can read your mind Rafe slides his fingers into your dripping cunt, thrusting them in and out of you at a brutal pace. His thumb finds your clit and it makes your eyes roll back. “God I’m gonna come already, daddy.”
“Mmm, there’s my obedient little slut. Come for me.” Rafe groans into your ass before shoving his tongue as far deep inside of it as it can go. One of his big hands spreads you open while the other finger fucks you, bullying your sweet spot. His thumb finds your clit and that’s all it takes to have you clawing the sheets and clenching around his fingers.
“Fuck, I’m coming, I’m coming, oh it’s so good, daddy.” You grind your ass back against him as your orgasm wracks your entire system. Rafe fucks you through it before pulling back and admiring the view.
“Would ya look at that.” Rafe grips onto your ass and pulls it apart so he can watch your cum drip down your thighs, his spit dripping down your crack and mixing with it. His finger circles your asshole before dipping inside to the second knuckle. “You gonna let me fuck your ass, baby? Need to feel you squeezing my fuckin’ dick.”
“Yeah fuck, yes.” You’re so far gone you aren’t even ashamed of how quickly you agree. Rafe rubs his hand on your pussy, wetting it with your juices before bringing it to his cock and using it as lube. He jerks himself a few times as he spits on your ass again and brings his finger to your hole, shoving it all the way in. “Oh my godddd.”
“Oh fuck, you’re so fuckin’ tight. You really aren’t letting him play with this ass, huh? It’s all mine?” Rafe chuckles as he presses a second finger into you and thrusts them in and out of you slowly, opening you up for him. “S’gonna feel so good, goddamn.”
“Please.” You don’t even care if it hurts, you just want to feel him inside you. “Fuck me.” You wiggle your ass and arch your back even further, practically presenting yourself to him like a bitch in heat. Something in Rafe snaps in that moment and he brings his cock to your asshole and presses the head inside.
“Oh fuckin’ shit, baby, so tight.” Rafe groans as he brings his hand to your clit and rubs circles on it, the pleasure distracting from the burning stretch of his cock. He spits on you again before pressing halfway in and pulling out again. When he presses back in this time he slams his entire dick into your ass and it nearly knocks the wind out of you.
“Oh god.” You whine and writhe beneath him, your body subconsciously trying to run away from the stinging pleasure.
“Where you goin’? Huh? Fuckin’ take it.” Rafe wraps his arm around your middle, locking you in place. His hand on your clit slides up between the dripping folds of your cunt before he presses two of them into you and thrusts them in and out of you time with the pumps of his cock.
“Fuck, I feel so full, daddy.” You’re practically limp beneath him as you drool into the mattress. “Fucking use me.”
“Use you? Oh baby, I’m gonna do more than that.” Rafe pulls his cock out of you to the tip before slamming it back into you and repeating the action. “I’m gonna fill this ass, then I’m gonna send your pathetic little boyfriend a picture of it. Wanna know the best part?”
“Hmm?” You’re so fucked out you that you don’t even fully process his words, blindly agreeing as long as he keeps fucking you like this.
“You’re.” Thrust. “Gonna.” Thrust. “Fuckin’ let me.” Thrust. “Aren’t you, princess?”
“Uh-huh. Oh fuck.” Rafe’s thumb finds your clit just as he pumps deep into your ass, his fingers curl against your sweet spot, and it has euphoria washing over you. “God, I’m coming again.”
“Yeah, that’s my good girl, give daddy your cum.” When your pussy stops spasming around his fingers he pulls them out and uses his opposite hand to yank onto the back of your hair. He pulls your head back and brings his wet fingers to your lips. “Taste yourself.”
He shoves them into your mouth as the hand on your hair yanks hard. You swirl your tongue around his digits with a moan as you lick your juices from his skin. He pulls them from your mouth with a pop before giving your hip a bruising grip and using your hair for leverage as he fucks your ass harder than before. Skin slaps against skin and the groans leaving Rafe are nearly animalistic.
“Gonna fill this slutty little ass with my cum, tell me you want it.” Rafe’s thrusts grow harder and sloppier by the second and you can tell he’s close so you clench around his cock.
“I want your cum, daddy, fill my ass.” Rafe’s dick twitches inside you as the hand in your hair pushes your head back down into the mattress. He leans his large frame over you as he pumps hard and deep into your ass. All it takes to have his cock bursting inside you is another clench of your walls.
“Yeah, that’s it, slut, take my fuckin’ cum.” Rafe pushes your face into the mattress so hard it cuts off your airflow as he fucks himself through his orgasm. His cock fills you with ropes of his cum and when he pulls out, he takes sick satisfaction in the way it drips out. “Don’t move.”
Even if you wanted to, you’re so fucked out that you’re stuck where you are. Panting on Rafe’s sheets with your ass in the air. You hear rustling behind you before the snap and the flash of a camera go off. It takes your hazy mind a second to process what he’s doing but when you do, you shoot up and turn around.
“Hey! Give me my fucking phone, Rafe!” You squeal as you launch yourself toward him but he just holds it over your head as he types. You manage to get your hands on it right as you hear the sound of a message being sent. You look at the screen in horror as you see the text he sent your boyfriend accompanied by the photo of his cum dripping from your ass. “Are you serious!?”
“Yeah. I am.” Rafe tongues his cheek and runs his hands across his chin as he smirks smugly. “I was tired of watching you pretend you liked that loser just to piss me off. Now he knows who really owns your little ass.”
“Ugh, fuck you!” You huff and slap his chest but he just grabs your hand and brings it to his lips.
“Pretty sure you just did, baby. But if you wanna go for a second round…” Rafe licks his lips as his eyes roam your naked body.
“No. I’m leaving.” You try to turn away from him but Rafe grips onto your shoulders, holding you in place.
“Nah. Lay your ass down, I miss that fuckin’ pussy. You’re not going anywhere.” Rafe grips onto your throat and pulls your face inches from his. “You’re mine and you know it. So stop playin’ your little games, I’m over it.”
“You’re so fucking annoying.” You groan as you throw yourself back on his plush pillows. You’re not leaving. And you both know it.

Smoking weed with thangyu :3
Warnings: weed, smoking it, I don’t think they are crazy toxic in this one actually, kind of a poly relationship but not like officially in words? Idk, pre game/ no game AU bitch I have no clue. If you don’t like weed/aren’t comfortable pls don’t read and pls don’t judge 🙏
A/N: this is for me basically. I just thought this would be funny and I haven’t written in like 2 or 3 days and I wanna get back into it bc I miss it IDK😭 and these two are my favorites. America is geeking out and I’m stuck with it for 4 years so to cope imma write abt smoking zaza w squid game characters.
Also these are head cannons I just wanted to have that lyric as the title lol
_______
- dream and nightmare rotation somehow.
- I feel like smoking with them starts out chill ASF. Maybe yall start back at home and roll up, the three of yall cramped together on the couch.
- thanos is chilling at the arm rest end of the couch, eyebrows furrowed in concentration as he meticulously distributes the goods evenly on the paper and rolling it to perfection. He even knows how to make those cute pattern filters. He repeats this process a few more times
- you are in the middle, crushed between him and nam gyu. Your head is nestled right on his shoulder blade as he works, and your right arm is looped through his left. No matter how many times he does it, you still always comment on how he’s “faster than last time” or that he’s done a great job. If he had a tail he’d be wagging it
- and then nam gyu is PRESSED up against you. One arm is clutching your torso as he practically lays on you, and the other is reached all the way behind you to rest on thanos’ back. His hands are never ever still so he’d be lightly tapping a rhythm on your skin as he waits impatiently
- once thanos is all done it’s time to smoke 🙏 now here’s some actual stoner HCs. I’ll make it short
Thanos: I wouldn’t say he’s a light weight bc he can get super high and be SET. But he just gets super high every time. Somehow he glitched out of high tolerance hell. Also he is a joint hog >:( ik it’s infuriating to try and get him to pass the fucking joint. Prolly uses it as a mic. Smh.
Nam gyu: has to smoke a lot to get high. Like eventually he gets there but he has to smoke one together with yall (bc he wants to be included) and one for himself. Bro gets sleepy, HELLA. Don’t matter indica or stativa. Honk shoo mimimi. I would say it makes him not keep his hands to himself but when has he ever??? Be prepared.
Together: world’s most stoppable duo. Literally whatever brain cells they had die. They are hanging off each other, laughing at genuinely anything, they don’t make any fucking sense, and to make it all worse they reek but tell each other they don’t. Once they’ve smoked they like to hit the streets together, maybe go clubbing :3 ends in 14 arrests idek
- they don’t skip you in a rotation EVER. They take their system serious asf. It’s always been thanos, you, nam gyu, repeat. And they will be dammed if you don’t get your hits in. They insist on shot gunning it to you (and each other but you ain’t hear that from me)
- they will never say no to more, three joints is just TO START. They got bongs, pipes, carts, brah everything
- they are extra sweet to you when smoking weed. Very cuddly, keeping you between them and then holding each other. You are literally trapped that way. And they keep looking at you with hazy eyes…
- hungry bastards. Usually they get food to eat before and then they can partake after. Sometimes they take you out to like a street vender for a cheap munchie session.
- not often tho. They like you keep you inside and away from other people. They like having you curled up between them, looking at them with glassy eyes, smoking the weed THEY bring you. Thanos and nam gyu are really possessive guys so they like moments where it’s literally just you three chilling.
- they be talking about the most random shit if all time. If yall remember the shower thoughts trend, that’s just the shit they say.
- they the typa guys when high to ask if you’d still love them if they were worms
- (you said yes and that you’d make a little compost bin for them to live in. They liked it)
- compliment city!! “Baby you’re so pretty” from nam gyu and a “don’t look away señorita, i wanna see you” from thanos.
- they hold hands with you.
- if you happen to green out they are with you in the bathroom. Nam gyu will hold your hair if you throw up and thanos is getting water and setting up for bed.
- tbh not all smoke seshs end in getting freaky, but it’s high in likelihood. Bc like cmon. They are freaky. And sometimes the weed be weeding. And they love you, and each other.
- but sometimes they end in just yall cozied up together in bed, rambling abt random shit, holding each other tightly as smoke clings in the air.

Spencer reid x reader
(Not proof read my bad)
Soencer is turning 30 and you are the only one who remeberd
Confession kissing Spencer crying fluff
(Hes a blurb while i get back into writing sorry I disappeared lol)
You’ve been planning this for 2 weeks getting the decorations and presents and setting up his schedule so he’s be free. You’ve been talking to Emily about it but somehow it got lost in all the work and she’s forgotten you’ve tried to do the same with the others but they forgot as well.
“Hey! Spence.” You call to him. He spins around in his chair to face you.
“Hmm?” He asks
“What are you doing tonight?” You ask.
“I was gonna go see my mom but that got cancelled hospital difficulties so I was gonna go to the library of olden books.” He says giving you a small smile.
“Oh I’m well did you wanna come over maybe I could go with you?” You ask.
“Yeah sure that’s be great I can talk about the making and weaving of how hard covers and soft covers were made.” He chuckles
“Yeah!” You smile and nod walking off passed Morgan’s desk. As he eyes you in confusion.
———
The entire rest of your evening is filled with the large library soencer taking your hand and leading you to each book talking about how they were made and crafted and the kind of paper they used.
You actually found it quite interesting it helped that you had been crushing on him for the past 2 years and him as wel to you.
He bought a few books for an obscene price before you faked the realization that you had to rush home and since he drove you both hurried into his car and drove to your place.
“It’s fine Spencer I can just grab it and we can continue to another library before it’s too late out.” You smile as you open your door all the lights off not helping with the time of night as your home seems to be a menaching place to be.
“Light switch to you left.” You say as you disappear into the darkness. He closes the door behind him and turns on the light. The sight of balloons and presents with a mini banner that says happy birthday strung across the ceiling.
“Happy birthday spencer!” You exclaim holding out your arms. His expression drops as he looks around at all the things for him. You rush to the fridge to take out the cake you had made of his favorite flavor.
“I also got a cake. And custom ordered the flavor as well as the decor. The presents are all for you and I-“ you stop as you look at him setting the cake down. Tears fall down his cheeks and his bottom lip quivers.
“S-Spencer…oh I-I’m sorry I know you like cupcakes more but they didn’t have any and I just through may if you wanted you could eat it by your self if yo-“ with out saying anything else he cups your face and presses his lips to yours in a deep kiss which you kiss back.
It lasts for a few seconds before pulling away.
“Thank you..thank you so much you have no idea how much this- how much you mean to me and not just for doing this.” He says his voice breaking you wrap your arms around his neck kissing him again before pulling away to speak.
“You’re welcome I wouldn’t miss your birthday.” You say a smile on your face.
The rest of the night is spent with him opening every present he could’ve ever wanted eating cake and watching a movie before you’d both fallen asleep on the couch.
A few months would go by before the case in Vegas where he and Emily would be talking and she’d ask him how old he was.
“Common it can’t be that far how old are you 29.” She says rolling her eyes before Spencer has time to correct her.
“I’m thirty.” He says her expression changes in shock as she realizes.
“We missed your birthday?”
“No..not everyone. Y/n remeberd planned a whole thing.” He says smiling looking over at his girlfriend who talks with jj.
“Fuck….i forgot she wanted me to come over for that. I’m so sorry.” She apologizes Spencer shakes his head adjusting his glasses.
“It’s okay.”
“Hey! There’s a spot new place down past Luxor if you’re hungry.” You skip up to him holding onto his arm.
“Actually I made a reservation as Caesars palace for us.” He says.
“W-what!? Why.” You smile looking up at him. He leans down to you ear whispering to you.
“Happy birthday.” He says this time it’s his turn to remember your birthday.

Quick ask
Do you think you could do a hobbit boys (Thorin, dawalin, and Fili mainly) with a short 4’8 human female reader who is often mistaken as a dwarf and they only realize when she can’t under stand the pet names or courting thing the boys do
Not so quick answer, I'm afraid. But of course! I've ended up not mentioning reader's height or gender in this I'm afraid, but height does end up being implied. Thanks so much for requesting anon - and I hope you enjoy it!

𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧
✧ Thorin is a big believer in the old, traditional dwarven way of courting.
✧ (Not just because he’s too scared he doesn’t have the words to properly confess to you, and that he wouldn’t be able to take a rejection that way.)
✧ It starts very small, such a tentative gesture that - if it wasn’t Thorin - even the other dwarves might not realise it’s courting.
✧ You certainly don’t, as you smile up at him before thanking him. Wondering why he’s ducked away so quickly afterwards.
✧ (It’s to hide how red his face is becoming.)
✧ Then you don’t reciprocate, at all. But Thorin just thinks he wasn’t quite obvious enough.
✧ His next gesture is grander, although he presents it slightly more gruffly. Again you can see the care and love that’s gone into it, but you don’t just want to assume it’s romantic.
✧ Everything’s accepted. And then nothing happens. And still nothing happens.
✧ You notice Thorin becoming slightly more withdrawn and decide to complain to Bilbo, muttering about how confusion these dwarves can sometimes be.
✧ ‘These dwarves?’
✧ It’s then Thorin realises that, perhaps, you aren’t a dwarf at all.
✧ Finally, he decides to use his words. Coming up to you, and asking if you’d realise what he was doing.
✧ Both of your cheeks are hot as he explains his intentions to you, and you realise all the things you’ve missed.
✧ As his explanation comes to an end, and you explain you’d truly like to court him - he steps slightly closer.
✧ “I know that all people kiss.”
𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢
✧ He never thought he’d be one for traditional romance, the pain-staking time courting takes. To get all the details just perfect for the beloved he’d end up falling for.
✧ Fíli had always assumed he’d have a whirlwind romance, and the details wouldn’t matter.
✧ It was true, in a way; you could have done anything for him and he’d beam and blush as if you’d hung the stars for him.
✧ But Fíli is determined to make it perfect for you. Because you deserve nothing less.
✧ So he begins to ask some of the older dwarves on what to do, how to make sure it all goes well.
✧ Fíli‘s getting quite far along, gift almost made for you, when he decides maybe he should ask the hobbit as well.
✧ “You- you thought they were a dwarf?” The incredulous tone of Bilbo makes poor Fíli rethink quite a lot of choices. If he didn’t notice that is he good enough to love you?
✧ Taking pity on the lad, Bilbo offers him a smile. “But anyone, dwarf or not, can see the love you have for them. Do it anyway, you just- might have to explain some of the finer details.”
✧ It’s that advice Fíli ends up taking, asking if he can speak to you in private.
✧ He still does things the dwarven way, at the very start. Waiting until he’s finished - and you’re looking at him with a mixture of hope and confusion.
✧ Then he explains things the best he can, what each gestures means, why he chose each gesture. How specifically he’s decided to show his love for you.
✧ Because you’re absolutely worthy of confession twice.
𝐊𝐢𝐥𝐢
✧ The first to start showing his affections, of course. And he decides the best way to do it is semi-casually.
✧ After all, he can always say he was joking if you don’t reciprocate the feelings. Hope you didn’t notice how pink his cheeks were, along with his smile and the shine in his eyes when he looked at you.
✧ “How are you, amrâl?”
✧ Does it get him some stares from the other dwarves? Yes. Is it worth it when you look at him and then quietly respond? He’s certain it is.
✧ Slowly he gets bolder. Jokingly calling you his betrothed, his star, his sun and moon. Each time you seem slightly less surprised, and slightly more comfortable.
✧ Eventually, he decides that he doesn’t just want to joke around. He wants to properly ask you, to be able to properly court you.
✧ “Amrâl astî.”
✧ There’s a moment where he looks in your face for recognition, and then sees blankness.
✧ Something must be obvious in his expression, because you suddenly seems to understand. And then, almost shyly, ask if he’s just confessed.
✧ It’s then that Kíli suddenly realises you’ve never talked back to him in Khuzdul. That, in some respects, you never quite seemed dwarven.
✧ With you still looking at him, he tries again. The confession is longer this time, if slightly quieter - with a few times he’s not as confident - but there’s still just as much love in it.
✧ Once Kíli finally begins to court you, he also begins to teach you what all his nicknames mean.
𝐃𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧
✧ Like Thorin, he’s much more comfortable in sticking with the dwarven traditions as well.
✧ To be able to confess how much you mean to him without having to put it truly into words. To share something intimate, instead of court with a grand, romantic gesture.
✧ Still, Dwalin spends a lot of time perfecting everything. Making sure that this confession will be right for you, right for him. Right for (what he hopes) can become the two of you, together.
✧ Dwalin doesn’t have a lot of small gestures, but rather one bigger one.
✧ One where - even though you’re not a dwarf - you can so easily feel the love through. His devotion is evident in every part, the love he has for you obvious.
✧ You’re silent until he finishes, and then you ask, “This is the confession I’d been hoping for, right?”
✧ There’s some confusion but he confirms it is instantly. And you meet him in an embrace, a gentle kiss.
✧ He’s incredibly soft with you - but there’s still hints of Dwalin as your lips connect. As he smiles when the two of you pull away.
𝐁𝐨𝐟𝐮𝐫
✧ When he first gives you a carving, he doesn’t expect you to see a grand romantic gesture in it - because it isn’t to him, but more of a subtle way. The polite way of informing you ‘my heart might be beating for you, I hope you don’t mind’
✧ Yet it isn’t as grandiose as so many stories he’s heard. And it isn’t a proper courtship gesture. So he doesn’t expect too much.
✧ But, when he places the carving in your hands, you’re in awe. So thankful. So enamoured by the object he’s left a blushing mess.
✧ As you give him a hug he wonders how you can’t feel his heart, hammering away.
✧ Emboldened by this he tries again, putting more effort in this time. And again you seem to appreciate it like no-one has before.
✧ But you still don’t initiate anything romantic.
✧ Perhaps you want to take it slow? So Bofur waits two, three more carvings before deciding to talk to you.
✧ “I… know you haven’t seen my courting gifts as exactly what you wanted. How- how do you want me to say I love you?”
✧ The way your eyes go wide clue him into the fact, perhaps, you didn’t know originally.
✧ Repeating his words back to him, you can feel your mortification as you explain you didn’t know they were courting gifts. How you’d gladly accept them.
✧ That you’d be honoured to court him.
A/N : As you can see by the vagueness, I definitely have a great grasp on dwarven courting techniques. (and would welcome anyone who'd be willing to explain them to me <3)

The Gaz secret baby post was sooo delicious. He totally would go "oh fuck yeah a baby it’s baby time". You've infected my brain with this trope and the doctors are saying it's incurable 🤒 I keep thinking of Nikolai in this trope!
He's not made his attraction to you any secret – you dismiss any reciprocated feelings because it's just not realistic with both of your jobs. The task force finishes a gruelling but successful op with him, and everybody decides to let loose for a night. After a few many rounds of drinks… you inevitably fall into his bed.
Cut to 5 weeks later, you're staring at a positive test and wondering how long you can keep this a secret. You resolve to never let Nik know he's the dad. Someone who loves his job, disappearing for months… you decide it's best for your child to have at least one present parent and maybe you're scared of the rejection.
I’m so ashamed I haven’t done this trope for Nikolai!!! I love the idea of you trying actively to hide it— it’s not just a one night stand thing, you really know each other and you’re still trying to get away with it.
At first, when he sees the baby— he just assumes it can’t be his, because you would’ve told him, wouldn’t you? Surely you wouldn’t think he didn’t want anything to do with a perfect, chubby baby made from both you and him. So when he’s questioning, it’s about the timelines. He knows there wasn’t anything labeled between you— it was one night, he wasn’t your boyfriend, but the beast inside him still bares its teeth at the idea that you fucked someone right after he fucked you.
Price, for all that Nik is his best mate, promised to be your confidant as your captain, and he wouldn’t betray that. But that doesn’t mean he isn’t a messy bitch who will start making a whole load of implications. Some of them are pretty crude, too, because he’s trying to goad Nik into confronting you. Saying things like “You should dick ‘er down again soon, last time it settled her down like you wouldn’t believe.”
It makes Nik more and more sure that there wasn’t anyone else. You were never really the type. Which means the baby must be his, and for some reason, you don’t want him to know.
That makes his blood hot. The idea that you don’t want him to father his own baby. You’ve always been a bit bristly to him, and he’s never known exactly why— he was hoping to find out the morning after you fell into bed together, but you ran out first thing, and he was contracted in a job soon after.
So he hangs over you more than before, watching from a distance, the gears turning as he considers what the fuck to say to get you to fess up. He wants to hear you say it. He doesn’t want to just ask and have you confirm or deny.
It hurts that you don’t want to tell him. That you don’t feel it’s safe for him to know. That you’re trying to protect yourself and the cub from him knowing. And despite the support from your own squad— it can’t have been easy for you.
But he also doesn’t want to miss out on another second of fatherhood. There’s an impatient roiling in his gut about it. Seeing your fat little baby, his fat little baby, and not being able to wordlessly lift it from your arms and hold it close to his chest and kiss its head.
So he’s conflicted, to say the least.

The Way to the Words
Emily struggles to tell Aaron she loves him. At least, she struggles to tell him in English.
AKA - 5 times Emily tells Aaron she loves him in another language, and 1 time she says it in English.
-x-
Hi besties,
This is an idea I've been playing around with for a while, but was spurred on to write it after I got an anon about Emily and all of the languages she speaks.
This is soft (because we all deserve softness right now) and hopefully funny in parts! These idiots love each other a whole lot.
Also, just a note that I don't speak any of the other languages in this. Where possible, I have run the line past someone I know who speaks it, or I have run it back and forth through several online translators to make sure it's as correct as I can make it, and read articles on word positioning/how it should be written.
(Second also: I know Arabic is meant to go from right to left, but Tumblr won't let me format it like that, but it is correct on Ao3)
As always, let me know what you think <3
-x-
Warnings: the tiniest, smallest, bit of spice possible. Blink and you miss it kind of stuff. (Rated T)
Words: 6.5k
Read over on Ao3, or below the cut
One
Technically, she’s the one to say it first. It’s something she tells him years down the line when they talk about the early days of them, her smile soft and sleepy as their baby rests on her chest as she insists that she’d whispered those three little words weeks before he had.
She just so happened to say them in a language he didn’t understand.
The first time, she doesn’t plan it.
They walk back to her apartment after their first date, their hands tangled together as they swing them back and forth ever so slightly. She was anxious. Shy in a way she hadn’t been in years, and she knows it’s everything to do with him and how he makes her feel. It’s something about his smile and the way he looked at her that would make her feel giddy. It would feel ridiculous if it was anyone else. If it wasn’t Aaron, the man she’d been in love with for longer than she could admit even to herself, she’d tell herself to get it together, would remind herself she wasn’t a lovesick teenager but a grown woman.
With him, it didn’t seem to matter. She didn’t care that she’d spent hours picking something to wear, or that she’d curled her hair twice. She wanted to make the effort, to take her time for what she knew would be her first last date. A small part of her had worried at first that things would be awkward, but it had been like their dinners usually were, only with hand holding across the table and the occasional kiss exchanged between anecdotes. She wanted to know everything about him, everything big and small, and she wanted him to know everything about her too. Wanted him to help her break through the walls she didn’t know how to tear down herself, wanted to hand him the tools she’d never shared with anyone else.
Her shoulder knocks against his as she digs her keys out of her bag, and he smiles at her, his hand slipping to her hip as she unlocks the door. She looks up at him, sees the uncertainty in his eyes, and leans up to kiss him, her lips catching the corner of his.
“Do you want to come in?” She asks, smiling when his eyes go a little wide, his own anxiety about what to do and how to act obvious. He’d told her it had been a long time since he’d been out on a date, that he was unsure how to act and what to do, and she’d kissed him, barely pulling back to tell him that she was out of practice too and that she didn’t expect any more than just him. He had arrived to pick her up with flowers nonetheless, a bunch of sunflowers squished between them when she kissed him as he explained he’d picked flowers that wouldn’t poison Sergio. She places her hand over his on her hip and squeezes, “For a drink,” she smiles and winks at him, “And maybe some more kissing.”
He laughs and nods, “Of course, I’ll come in Em.”
She leads him inside and locks the door behind them, secretly hoping she won’t unlock it again tonight, that he’ll stay in whatever capacity he’s comfortable with and that she’ll wake up next to him in the morning.
“Wine?” She asks, as she walks towards her kitchen, “Or I have a very nice scotch that Dave bought me along with a cast iron skillet as a moving in present.”
Aaron had been her first visitor to her apartment upon her return from Paris, and Dave had been her second. It wasn’t the best place she’d ever lived, but also not the worst. It was good enough for what she needed for now, and the best she could do for a person whose credit score had reset when she’d ‘died,’ and who had only just gained access back to her trust fund. For a few months, whilst legalities were unravelled and everything that had been put in place in the wake of her death was reversed, she’d lived like most people did - on her salary.
Aaron chuckles as he follows closely behind her, his hands in his pockets as he looks her up and down and makes no secret of it, “He got me the same thing when I moved out of the house and into my apartment,” he says, leaning his hip against the kitchen island, “He said no home is complete without one.”
“He said the same to me,” She laughs, “I wonder if he just has a closet full of the things for when someone he knows moves.” She lifts up the bottle of scotch, “So scotch?”
“Yes please.”
She pours them both a generous measure and hands him one of the glasses, her fingers skipping across his as he takes it from her, “Let’s go sit down.”
She sinks against him on the couch, giving him no chance to overthink their closeness or what she’d want. She pulls a nearby throw over their laps and rests her head on his shoulder, the mix of the smell of him and the scotch enough to relax her, a contented sigh escaping her before she could even try to contain it. He wraps his arm around her, his hand against the bare skin of her arm so he can trace patterns against her, chasing a shiver he causes with the callouses on his fingertips.
“You okay?” He asks, and she hums as she nods, tilting her head upwards so she can kiss him, the hand not wrapped around her glass on his cheek so she can hold him in place.
“I’m fine. More than fine,” she says, kissing him again, “Thank you for a lovely date.”
He smiles and holds her closer, “You’re welcome,” he clears his throat, the anxiety he’d felt earlier making a speedy return, “We should do it again soon. If you want.”
“Of course I want to,” she replies, as if it’s obvious - because to her it is - but her smile slips when she sees relief in his eyes and she frowns as she takes his glass of scotch from him and places in on the coffee table with hers, “Aaron, why wouldn’t I want to go on another date with you?”
He shrugs as she turns to look at him properly, her knees pressing against his thigh as she uses the hand on his cheek to make him look at her. He sighs and his hand falls to her knee, his thumb catching the hem of her dress as he runs it back and forth.
“I don’t know,” he breathes out, “I guess I’m waiting for you to realise you could do better than me.”
That’s what does it in the end, what makes the admission she’d been holding back all night escape without warning. Her concern that it’s too soon kicks in too late to say nothing, so she falls back on an old trick from when she was young and wanted to curse at her parents without them knowing.
She speaks in another language.
“Я люблю тебя.”
He furrows his brows together and fights a smile. “Sorry, sweetheart,” he says, the use of the nickname making her breath catch in her throat, “I don’t speak…I want to say Russian?”
She chokes on a laugh and nods, “Yeah, that…was Russian,” she presses her lips together, “Sorry, I said ‘nothing’s better than you.’”
If he knows she’s lying, he doesn’t say anything. He nods as he accepts her answer and he leans in to kiss her, his lips stamped against hers before he pulls back.
“Nothing is better than you either.”
He stays the night, and when she wakes up with his arms wrapped around her she wishes she’d been brave enough to say it in a way he understood.
___
Two
She grumbles as she sinks onto the couch, curling in on herself as a cramp rolls through her belly. She’s about to talk herself into getting up to take painkillers, her medicine cabinet never having felt further away, when there’s a knock on the door followed by the sound of the key in the lock.
“Sweetheart?”
She groans as she sits up, looking at her boyfriend over the back of her couch, “What are you doing here?”
“It’s nice to see you too,” he quips as he steps into her apartment, holding up a bag from CVS, “I brought you some supplies. I can leave afterwards if you want.”
She hums and watches as he locks the front door behind him, “Where’s Jack?”
“By the time I left the office he’d already eaten with Jess, and when I told him you weren’t feeling very well he told me to come look after you.”
She smiles as he sits next to her, “I really am fine,” she says, taking the bag as he hands it to her, her eyes going wide when she sees the bag full of her favourite candy, painkillers and a couple of boxes of tampons. She looks up at him, embarrassed in a way she doesn’t entirely understand, “How did you know? I only told you that my stomach hurt.”
He smiles at her, his dimples carved out deep in his cheeks, “I lived with Haley most of my adult life. And I am a grown-up. I know what a period is, Em.”
It makes her ache. Makes her feel stupid for even trying to hide this from him in the first place, her jaw tight and her temper wearing thin when she’d almost yelled at him when he asked if she was okay for the dozenth time that day. She’d left the office the moment she could and told him she’d call him later, forcing a smile as familiar cramps she’d felt for most of her life rolled through her. If she was honest with herself, she’d wanted to bask in his comfort. To lean against him as he laid his giant, warm, hand on her stomach like he was her own personal heating pad, but she didn’t how to ask. She should have known that she didn’t need to ask. He’d always been better at figuring out what she needed before she did anyway.
She nods and presses her lips together, “You even got the right brand.”
He shrugs, “I only bought the ones you have in your bathroom.”
She laughs, “I once asked a boyfriend to buy me tampons and he looked at me like I’d asked him to murder someone for me.”
“Well, it sounds like he didn’t deserve you.”
She looks up at him, her lips pressed tightly together, and she reaches out for his hand, “Thanks honey, this is…really sweet.”
“You don’t have to thank me,” he says and he leans in to kiss her cheek but she turns her head to capture his lips instead. “I just wanted to make sure you were okay,” he kisses her again, lingering a little longer this time, and she sighs into it, “I can go home if you’d rather be alone.”
She’s shaking her head before she can even really think about it, “No,” she replies, “I want you to stay.”
He kisses her before he pulls back, “I’ll make us some hot chocolate, and bring you some water so you can take your painkillers. And then we’ll watch whatever sci-fi nonsense you want to watch.”
She scoffs in fake annoyance, “It’s not nonsense,” she grumbles, narrowring her eyes at him playfully, “And I’ll have you know I was thinking of watching Die Hard.”
He furrows his brow as he turns to look at her, “That’s a Christmas movie.”
She groans and flops back onto the couch, tearing a pack of the candy he’d brought her open, “Don’t tell me I’m dating a guy who thinks Die Hard is a Christmas movie.”
He raises his eyebrow at her from her kitchen counter, the tin of hot chocolate mix in his hands, “It’s set at Christmas.”
“That doesn’t make it a Christmas movie, honey. There’s no small town girl visiting home from the big city for the holidays,” she says, unable to fight her smile when he smiles widely at her, the warmth of it settling over her like a comforting blanket from across the room, “And there’s no Santa Claus, and Kate Winslet doesn’t swap houses with Cameron Diaz,” she pops some candy into her mouth, “It’s not a Christmas movie.”
“You’ve given this some thought,” he replies, smiling fondly at her, his eyes sparkling like she’d hung the stars themselves, “I guess we can watch it. Even if it is set at Christmas.”
She throws a piece of candy at him, her fake irritation dying when he picks it up from the counter and eats it, the way he waggles his eyebrows drawing a laugh out of her.
She rests her head in his lap when he joins her on the couch, her back to him as they watch the movie and he switches between playing with her hair and placing his hand on her belly unprompted, once again anticipating her needs. It was strange feeling loved like this, because she knew that’s what this was even if they hadn’t admitted it to each other yet. She’d never been cared for and enjoyed it or felt as if the other person wasn’t doing it out of obligation.
She finds herself stuck again between wanting to say it and not being able to push past her fear. Instead, she reaches for his hand and links their fingers together, dragging them to her lips so she can kiss his knuckles as she mumbles against them, whispering so he doesn’t hear the Arabic she presses against his skin.
"أحبك"
“What did you say, sweetheart?”
She shakes her head and turns back to look at him, “Nothing. Just…thank you for looking after me.”
He stops himself from repeating what he’d said earlier and he nods, pushing her hair from her face, “Anytime.”
___
Three
She’s bored of feeling like an exhibit at the zoo.
Ever since she and Aaron had told the team about their relationship they’d been watching them closely, their attempts at hiding their fascination with their relationship almost non-existent. At work, it was bad enough, but here, in Dave’s house, as they had dinner together, it annoyed her. Every time they touched each other, or showed each other the tiniest bit of affection, the team would smile and nudge each other.
She eventually excuses herself from the living room to the kitchen to get another glass of wine, needing a moment without being stared at so she doesn’t snap at some of the people she loves most in the world.
She sighs and takes a large gulp of wine, closing her eyes as she swallows it, desperately trying to calm herself down, to soothe her fraying nerves.
“Are you okay sweetheart?”
She turns and smiles when she hears Aaron’s voice and she blows out a breath, “I just needed a minute.”
He nods and points over his shoulder back towards the living room, “Do you want me to go?”
She loves him for it. Loves how well he knows her and how well he loves her, and she shakes her head and offers him a hand, “Never.”
He walks over and wraps his arms around her, “They mean well. They just have to get used to it.”
She hums and loops her arms around his neck, “I know. I just wish they’d get used to it faster,” she huffs, “I hate feeling like a zoo animal.”
“I know,” he says, running his hand up and down her back, “Me too.” He says, and she leans in to kiss him, pulling him closer as she sighs into it. When she pulls back, he stamps another kiss against her lips, “That’s a nice wine.”
She chuckles, running her fingers through the short hair at the base of his head, “Barolo del Comune di La Morra,” she says, nodding towards the bottle on the kitchen island, “It’s Italian. Very nice wine. Not that you’d expect anything less from Dave.”
“Say that again,” he says, his smile wide and bright, his eyes sparkling with as close to mischief as they ever did, “The name of the wine.”
She presses her lips together and leans in to kiss him again, punctuating each word with a kiss, “Barolo…del…Comune…di…La…Morra.”
He barely hides a moan as she pulls back, just about able to remember where they were as he squeezes her hips, “You’re so beautiful,” he says, “Say something else.”
She giggles, something only he was able to draw out of her, “In Italian?” She asks, and he nods. It feels like an invitation to carry on doing what she’d unintentionally started, and she leans in to kiss him, only pulling back far enough to speak, “Penso che tu sia l'amore della mia vita.”
He smiles, even though he doesn’t understand, “What does that mean?”
“I love the wine,” she says, hating that she can’t tell him the truth, that she can’t push past the fear she isn’t entirely sure she understands, “And you’re handsome.”
He leans in to kiss her again, but they are stopped by someone clearing their throat in the doorway. Emily feels her cheeks go warm when she looks up to see Dave standing there, the look on his face letting her know just how much he’d heard.
“Well, this is adorable.”
She feels Aaron’s grip on her tighten and she lets her arms slip down from around his neck and she squeezes his hand.
“Why don’t you go back through, honey?” She suggests, squeezing his hand again, “I’ll be there in a minute.” He almost questions it, she can see the argument he has with himself over it, but he nods instead, leaning in to kiss her cheek before he steps away, his hands in his pockets and his smile tight as he walks past Dave. She waits until he is out of earshot and she crosses her arms over her chest, “How much of that did you hear?”
“Enough to know you’re playing a dangerous game,” Dave replies as he walks closer to her, “So…you love him?”
“I…” she trails off, the words caught in her chest and she groans, tightening her arms over her chest.
“Relax, bella. Even Reid only has to look at you to know you two love each other,” he says, smirking when she glares at him, “So why didn’t you tell him the truth? Worried he doesn’t feel the same way? Because I think it would be less of a waste of time to wonder if the Pope is Catholic.”
She sighs and shakes her head, “No, it’s not that. I know he feels the same way. It’s just…” She blows out a shaky breath and laughs at herself, “I’ve never felt like this before. I’ve never loved someone this much. It’s like my happiness depends on his, and it’s fucking terrifying.”
He stares at her for a moment, his smirk disappearing as he nods in understanding, “I know it is,” he replies, patting her shoulder, “But you’ll get there. Take it from an old man who’s been around the block a few times. What you two have is rare,” he smiles at her, “I’m actually annoyed at myself for not seeing it sooner.”
She smiles, “What, me and Aaron?”
He nods, “I should have put money on you two years ago. You’ll get there, Emily. And he won’t mind if it takes a while. Because he loves you too.”
She presses her lips together and nods, because she knows he’s right, “Thanks.”
“No need to thank me,” he says, winking at her, “Just make sure Aaron makes me best man when you get married.”
She rolls her eyes and fights off the desire to tell him to shut up, or deny that it was where this was all going, “I think that’s his choice, don’t you?”
“Okay,” he says, shrugging at her, “Godfather of your firstborn then.”
She scoffs, the sound turning into a laugh when it’s halfway out, and she can’t stop herself this time, “Oh shut up, Dave.”
The thought of it makes her giddy, makes her stomach flip in a pleasant way, and she can’t shift her smile for the rest of the evening.
___
Four
Emily sighs contentedly as she flips the page of her book, snuggling further into the comfort of Aaron’s bed, the scent of him lingering on the sheets.
The bedside table on her side of his bed was starting to look like hers. It’s where she kept the book she was reading and her favourite hand cream and other trinkets that had somehow ended up at his place. A necklace she’d taken off after work one day and left there. Her father’s watch. It was already starting to feel like home. But she had a feeling that had more to do with the little boy asleep down the hall and the man whose bed she was in, not the apartment itself.
She was starting to spend more of her nights here than she wasn’t. She’d go home to feed Sergio, to scratch his head and sit with him for a while, and then she’d go to Aaron’s, let herself in with the key he’d given her weeks ago, and spend the night. He kept telling her to bring Sergio over with her, that he’d happily get a litter tray, food and whatever he needed, and it made her love him more. She was slightly resistant, not only because Sergio didn’t seem to like him that much, but because it felt like a huge step forward. An admittance that she couldn’t bring herself to say yet no matter how much she wanted to.
The bedroom door opens and she looks up, her smile wide as she puts her book down, “Is Jack okay?”
Aaron nods as he climbs into bed next to her, “He’s asleep,” he says, smiling as he pulls the covers over his lap and tugs her close, “He said he wants you to do bedtime next time.”
She bites her lower lip, desperately trying to hold in a smile, her love for the two of them threatening to burst out of her, “Really?”
“Really,” he says, kissing her forehead, “I’m not the only Hotchner in love with you.” She freezes, her shoulders tight as the admission washes over her, a choking sound of sorts escaping her. It seems to alert Aaron to what he’d said, and his eyes go wide. He swallows thickly and tucks some of her hair behind her ear, “I…mean it Em. I might not have meant to blurt it out that way,” he says, smiling when she does too, “But I mean it. I love you.”
Her silence is loud, echoing around them before it weighs heavily on them, settling on their shoulders as she tries and fails to say anything, “I…”
She feels like a failure. Like a coward, because what was so wrong with her that she couldn’t tell the man she was in love with that she loved him. She curses every bad relationship she’d ever had, she curses her parents, and everyone who ever made it hard for her to accept love and affection, because Aaron deserved someone who could give that to him without thought.
He deserved so much more than she could give him right now, and it made her ache.
“Em,” he says, his smile too kind, “I’m not expecting you to say anything back,” he adds, pulling her closer, “I didn’t even mean to say it myself yet,” he stamps his lips against hers, “It’s okay.” It doesn’t feel okay. It feels ridiculous and she surges forward, her hands on his cheeks as she holds him in place, deepening the kiss so she can show him how she feels even if she can’t say it yet. She shifts so she’s in his lap, rolling her hips against his as she wraps her arms around his neck. He tenses, his hands firm on her hip as he tries to pull back “Sweetheart-”
She can see the doubt in his eyes, not in her, but in what she was trying to do, “Aaron,” she kisses him again, knocking her nose against his as she rests their foreheads together, “Please.”
He looks at her carefully, tries to see the tiniest piece of uncertainty in her eyes, and he nods when he doesn’t find it, leaning forward to rest his forehead against hers before he kisses her again. They undress each other slowly, and he rolls them so she’s under him, trapped between the warmth of his body and the sheets beneath her. It’s soft. Tender in a way she hadn’t known existed before him, something that she thinks would make her feel exposed with anyone else, and she links her fingers through his afterwards, lifting their hand to her lips to kiss his knuckles as she smiles at him, hoping he knows what she can’t put into words he understands yet.
He falls asleep before her. It’s rare. Usually, she fell asleep first and woke up last, comforted by his arms and the safety that seemed to come with them. She lays there in the dark next to him, his arm heavy and warm over her waist, his breath even as it skips across the back of her neck, and she berates herself for not being able to give him what he needed, what she so desperately wanted to give him.
Eventually, she turns in his arms, looks at him in the dark, his features just about visible now her eyes had adjusted to the lack of light. He looked younger like this, boyish almost, and it makes her love him more. She reaches out and strokes his cheek, smiling when he twitches but doesn’t wake up, his head moving in the direction of her hand, chasing her and her presence even in sleep.
“Aaron,” she whispers, waiting to see if he’s awake, if his breathing changes, and when it doesn't she sighs, “Te quiero. Siento no poder decirlo todavía. Pero te quiero.”
She leans in to kiss his cheek and lingers there for a moment before she lays back against his chest, snuggles into him as deeply as she can and she closes her eyes, hoping she’ll fall asleep.
When she wakes up in the morning, he’s already awake and smiling at her, and it somehow makes her feel worse.
___
Five
“I can’t do it.”
Aaron tries to hide his smile, she’ll give him that. He tries to swallow it down but fails as he turns to look at her and raises his eyebrow at her. She glares at him from her side of the couch and kisses the top of Sergio’s head twice in quick succession, scratching under his chin as she does so.
“I’ve seen you stare a serial killer in the eyes and not blink,” he clears his throat to hide a laugh, “But you can’t give your cat medication?”
She huffs out a breath and holds Sergio closer as she pouts in a way she’d deny if Aaron brought it up. Sergio had an ear infection, and whilst he’d been strangely okay with her cleaning his ears, he was resistant to medication. He’d eaten around it when she’d tried to hide it in his food, had ignored treats she’d tried to stuff it inside. He was refusing to take it, and that meant she had to make him take it.
“I don’t want him to hate me,” she says, tearing her gaze away from Sergio to look up at Aaron, “Or for him to be afraid of me.”
She watches as Aaron nods, once again stifling a smile, and she wonders if he’s going to tell her she’s as being as ridiculous as she feels. Instead, he sighs and offers his hands out, “I’ll do it.”
She tilts her head at him in confusion, “What?”
“He already hates me,” Aaron says, smiling when she rolls her eyes.
“He doesn’t hate you-”
“He does, sweetheart,” he replies, his smile getting wider, “But if I do it, it’s not like he can hate me anymore, and his love for you will remain intact.”
She knows it’s irrational, but she almost wants to be mad at him for the way he makes her love him even more. He was willing to do this for her, willing to accept her, admittedly silly, concerns about her cat hating her, and do what she couldn’t bring herself to do. For a moment, she pictures him holding a baby that was half her and half him whilst they took them to get their shots so she didn’t have to, and then passing the baby back over as soon as the deed was done so she could be their source of comfort. She has to shake her head to get rid of the image, to remember the soft weight in her arms was Sergio and not a small baby, and she sighs and nods as she passes him over. Sergio meows in displeasure, wiggling as he proves Aaron’s point as he tries to get a hold of him.
“Do you have the medication?” Aaron asks, raising his eyebrow at her as she actively ignores his poorly hidden smirk as Sergio pushes his paw against Aaron’s face. She nods and hands him one of the pills and he takes it from her. He’s gentle as he grasps Sergio’s head and tilts it backwards until his nose is pointing upwards and his jaw opens slightly. Aaron drops the pill into his mouth and then lowers his head back down, holding his mouth closed until he visibly swallows, “There we go,” Aaron says, smiling at her as he lets go of Sergio, who immediately walks over to Emily’s side of the couch and climbs in her lap, meowing all the way, “And look at that, he still loves you.”
She smiles at him, ignoring the warmth in her cheeks, and she snuggles Sergio against her chest, making sure she’s giving him plenty of head scratches as she does so, “Tell me all about it, baby. What did the mean man do to you?”
Aaron chuckles and leans in to kiss her temple, “If he didn’t hate me already, he will by the time his course of antibiotics is done with.”
She hums and turns her head, capturing his lips with hers, “Thank you. I know it’s silly-”
“You’ve never been silly a day in your life,” he says, kissing her again, “Do you want a drink?”
“Yes please, honey,” She nods and presses her lips together, the words getting the closest to escaping as they ever had, the way he looked after her in ways she never could have pictured almost tipping her over the edge, whatever had been holding her back getting weaker by the day, “There’s some red wine on the counter.”
“Coming right up,” he says, winking at her before he stands. It makes Sergio hiss at him, and Aaron throws her a look that could only say I told you so as he walks away.
“You have to be nice to Aaron, you know,” she says, talking to Sergio as she scratches between his ears, “He’s not going anywhere,” she sighs, “Je l’aime aussi. Je ne peux juste pas le dire.”
“Did you say something, sweetheart?” Aaron asks as he walks back into the room. She shakes her head when she looks up at him, smiling when she sees the two glasses and the bottle of wine in his hands, and the pack of her favourite candy dangling off his finger.
She wanted to say it to him, but after everything, after not being able to say it back when he’d said it to her a couple of weeks ago, she wanted it to mean something.
“No,” she replies as he sits next to her, “I was just talking to Sergio.”
He nods in understanding and puts the wine and her candy down on the coffee table, “Speaking of Sergio,” he says, opening up his palm to reveal a treat in his hand, “I thought he deserved this for being so brave.” He offers his hand out to Sergio who looks at him suspiciously for a few moments before he happily eats the treat out of his hand and starts purring. Aaron laughs and takes the opportunity to scratch between Sergio’s ears, which the cat leans into, “Maybe he’ll love me after all.”
“Yeah,” she replies, biting the inside of her cheek to contain her smile, “He’d be a fool not to.”
___
+ One
“Anyone want to go for a drink?”
Emily drops her pen down on her desk and turns to face the others, “I’m up for it.”
“Of course you are, princess,” Derek says, smirking when she glares at him, “Do you think you could convince Hotch?”
She smiles, “I could convince him of anything.”
Derek groans, “God, I don’t want to know that.”
She laughs as she stands up and she winks at him, “You asked. You okay to gather everyone else?”
He nods and she walks up to Aaron’s office. She takes a moment to watch him through the window. He has his head down, his focus on the paperwork in front of him, and he looks every part of the stern, focused man she’d first met. He looks up at her, his eyes meeting hers, and then he smiles at her, a flash of her Aaron peeking out from beneath Hotch in the very room she’d met him in. He gives her a small nod and she walks in, making sure she closes the door behind her.
“Everything okay, sweetheart?”
She nods and walks over to his desk, keeping a respectable distance because she knows the others will be watching, “I’m okay. Derek is organising everyone to go out for drinks. I’ve been sent to rally you.”
He chuckles, “They already know I can’t say no to you.”
“Honey, we all know that,” she replies, “So is that a yes?”
Aaron smiles, “I’d love to, but I have budgets to do, unfortunately, they’re important,” he says, his smile getting wider when she looks disappointed, “I could meet you later though.”
“Yeah?” She asks, sinking her teeth into her lower lip, and he nods, “Okay, so we’ll meet you there?”
“I’ll meet you there,” he smiles, her smile, and winks at her, “See you later.”
She smiles and turns to the door, reaching out for the handle as she replies, “See you later. Love you.”
It takes her a moment to realise what she’s said, and she freezes, her breath caught in her chest as the words float in the air around them, as light as a feather in comparison to the heavy weight it had been on her shoulders for weeks now. She almost laughs, the absurdity at the easy, simple way she said it after she’d overthought it for so long not lost on her. The admission as simple as it was beautiful, as if they’d exchanged it as often as they had kissed, as if it wasn’t the first time she’d said it. Like it was something she’d said countless times before. She smiles to herself as she turns around because, in some ways, she has said it before.
This was just the first time he’d understood her.
She smiles nervously at him when their eyes meet, “Sorry,” she says, clearing her throat, “That…that wasn’t how I intended on saying that for the first time.”
He stares at her for a moment like she’s a skittish animal, like she might bolt if he made even the slightest of movements. He’d been careful to not tell her again since that first time a couple of weeks ago, like he was scared he’d push her away. He’d get part way through and then stop himself, smiling at her in a way that could only mean you know how I feel. It had hurt more than she thought it would, something that made her feel hypocritical because she hadn’t said it at all.
She’s mad at herself for letting it slip like this because she’d wanted it to be special. But then he smiles at her in a room he’d once scowled at her in on that first day they’d met, and she doesn’t think it could have been any more perfect if she’d planned it. It was like their love story had permeated the walls. Like it was carved into them in a way someone would find in years to come when they were gone. When they’d moved on to somewhere new, their future still laid out in front of them as they stood by each other’s side.
“No, don’t apologise. Never apologise for this,” he says, finally snapping into action, his pen hitting his desk with a thunk as he stands up. For a moment, she thinks he’s going to pull her into a hug or kiss, but then he remembers where they are, his eyes darting to the window of his office and the team all in the bullpen. He stops right in front of her and grabs her hand, their linked fingers out of view from everyone else, “I love you.”
She presses her lips together and nods, every reason she had for being too afraid to tell him gone as if they’d never existed, “I love you too. I have for a long time. I hope you know it was never because I didn’t love you. I just…”
“I know,” he replies, squeezing her hand, “And I would have waited forever.”
She chuckles, the sound wet as it catches in her chest, “Forever? That would have been awkward at our wedding one day.”
He laughs too and runs his thumb back and forth over her pulse point, “We would have made it work.”
She wants nothing more than to kiss him, but she knows she can’t, not here anyway, and she blows out a breath, “I really wish I could kiss you right now.”
“Me too,” he says, looking at her like she was the only thing in existence, like the world could burn around them and he wouldn’t notice because he was looking at her, “Later.”
“Later,” she repeats, “I don’t want to go for drinks with the team anymore. I just want to go home with you.”
“We’ll have plenty of time for us, sweetheart,” he says, squeezing her hand again, their palms practically fused together, as if they were merging into one, one soul that had been split into two for all eternity until now, “Let’s go spend some time with our friends.
“Plenty of time?” She repeats in a question, as if she didn’t already know he was it, that they were it, and he was the answer to the question she’d never known to ask.
“Forever,” he confirms, and she swallows thickly, her heart almost beating out of her chest as she nods in response.
“Forever.”

The nurse life isn’t glamorous, but it is interesting. Well, at least it is until you are stuck filling out paperwork during the downtime of your twelve hour shift. Eddie Diaz was in a groove though, letting the background noise of low chatter, beeping monitors, and ambulance sirens to blur into one another, his palm was smudged with black ink, but he was unstoppable. At least he was unstoppable until Maddie Buckly jumped up on the desk, thankfully missing the half–filled intake form pile. “I need a favour.”
Her voice was low and rushed. And Maddie, she isn’t always one to ask for help, at least not for the trivial things, although she is getting better at asking for a shift cover. One that Eddie is more than happy to give even at short notice considering how much shifts of his she has covered without complaint. “What kind of favour ? I’m not doing another night shift with Mary, she gets mean after 7pm.”
Maddie’s lip twitched at that, like she wanted to smile but she was too stressed to. Something he knew one or two things about. “No, not that. I can deal with her,” she looked out towards the door, where people were walking by and not paying attention to anything happening there. “Something bigger. Like– way bigger.”
“How big are we talking ?” Eddie asked warily and leaned back in the chair, twirling the pen in his hand. In all seriousness, Maddie and him have had each other’s backs since he joined the hospital staff, if she needed something from him that bad, he doesn’t think there is anything he’d say no to. “Spill it, Buckley. You’re making me nervous.”
Maddie took a deep breath at that, running a hand through her hair. “My parents are… they’re really intense. Pushy really.” She huffed. “And now that I’m out of the– Now that I’m single, they won’t back off about micromanaging my love life.” Eddie hummed to show he was listening but wasn’t about to interrupt her. He was there for Maddie’s aftermath of Doug, she spent more time in his house crying then in her parents house.
And he’d heard bits and pieces about Maddie’s overbearing parents; not much, but enough to know that pushy would be an understatement, that they were judgmental and were way too invested in Maddie’s life, especially when it comes to her love-life and ‘getting grandbabies’.
“That sucks, but what does it have to do with me ?” He asked once he realised she was done. Did she want to seek refuge in his house or ?
Maddie bit her lip, not a new habit of hers. “I told them I’m seeing someone.”
“You are ?” Eddie blinked. Surely if she was he would know. The shifts are long and they more or less know everything about each other. Eddie had told her about each and every one of his failing relationships with ex-girlfriends. Maddie shook her head and that’s when the realisation dawned on him like a slow-moving train. “Oh no. No, no, no. Maddie…” He takes it back, maybe he wouldn’t do anything.

left out
634 words, peter x james
“Move over.”
And Peter did, because he did anything James asked him to. James clambered into Peter’s bed and proceeded to take up all the space with his limbs, and Peter let him.
For a minute, they both stared at Peter’s canopy in silence. James broke it. Only James could. “They’re dating.”
That was a fact. Peter knew that. Was he meant to respond? James had just said it as a statement. Or a declaration. Quieter, Peter replied, “I know.”
Out of the corner of his eye, Peter saw James turn to face him, push his glasses up the bridge of his nose, grin wonkily, “They’re leaving us out.”
He didn’t mean that grin. So Peter frowned, reflecting what James felt on the inside for him. “I know.” Imagine what would happen if Peter told James that he’d always been left out. Although he didn’t need to imagine, because he knew that James would deny vehemently. That would be that. There was no point discussing his feelings. There was also no point feeling.
“Petey,” James poked his side. “I wish I had a date. Then Sirius and Remus could date, and I wouldn’t have to miss them, ‘cause I’d also be dating. But now I miss them, and I can’t tell them, because they are spending time with me as friends, but it’s split, because they want to spend time with each other as boyfriends.”
James wouldn’t ever miss Peter, though. He had Peter right now, and all he could do was miss Sirius and Remus. “They don’t like being called boyfriends.” Peter sounded so detached. He remained fixated on the canopy.
James huffed, “They just can’t admit they’re gay. If I dated a boy, I’d be fine calling us boyfriends.”
Peter’s voice got stuck somewhere in his lungs. If James dated a boy, Peter would have nothing to cling onto. For now, James was straight. It made it easier. Someone else spoke for Peter, another voice inside of him, one that didn’t get stuck, the one that didn’t care, the one that spoke even when he was scared. “It’s not ‘cause they can’t admit they’re gay. I don’t think either of them are completely gay, either. It’s just… why would they call themselves boyfriends when they were already boys who are friends?”
“Then they’re all my boyfriends,” James sighed. “I want to call them cute, lovely, lovey boyfriends.” He made heart-shapes with his hands.
Now Peter could tell that James was just getting bored. “Cool. Tell them that.”
“I can’t, they’re off snogging or something.” James was whining, and at this point he’d just say anything for attention.
“Tell them later.”
“I want a boyfriend.” Anything for attention.
“Go and get one.”
“I’m not completely gay either.” He was joking.
“You’re straight.”
“I’m a raging lesbian.” Peter knew he’d been joking.
This was Peter’s bed, and he could easily kick James out if he wanted to. No, he couldn’t. He sighed, “Then rage about it.”
“Peter.”
“What?”
“Can I kiss you?”
Peter’s eyes widened fractionally. James was bored. Bored and bored. So bored. This was normal boredom. “...I’m not a woman.”
James poked him, “Dunno, I’d need evidence.”
Peter really wanted to kick him. “Believe what you want, I’m not giving you evidence.”
“Can I kiss you or not?” Joking.
“No, you can’t.” Lying.
Peter could feel James’s eyes on him. “Okay, Pete.” James got out of the bed.
And Peter was left staring up, lost and wondering why James had sounded disappointed. He was probably missing Sirius and Remus. And Peter had been useless in keeping him company. Because Peter could never joke like they did. All he ever did was say too little, say the wrong thing. He spoke too quietly, or too lethargically. He hid information. Or he straight-up lied.

Thanks Darling! So about that request? Could you write about one of the 141 boys, confessing their love to the reader? 😊
‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ Lucky ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵
[ kyle "gaz" garrick x reader ]
[tw: none, all fluff]
[requested: @/missvanta-xoxo]
[summary: Kyle is always there when you need him]
[a/n: The prompt kind of got away from me with this one, but I hope you still like it! Thank you for being my very first ever request <3 First ever work on tumblr, yay!]
⊹₊⊹₊ ˚‧︵‿₊୨୧₊‿︵‧ ˚ ₊⊹ ⊹₊ ˚‧︵‿₊୨୧₊‿︵‧ ˚ ₊⊹ ⊹₊ ˚‧
“What are you starin’ at love?” Kyle asks with furrowed eyebrows, angling his body in front of you to focus on him. Sitting across from him at your favourite cafe, you spotted an elderly couple cuddled next to each other on a nearby bench that looks across a small pond.
“That couple over there,” you raise a finger to point them out. “They look so sweet. I wish I had that.”
If you had been paying attention to Kyle, you would have noticed a flash of sadness appear for a second on his face. Missed just slightly by your longing for what was in front of you. Turning back to look at him, instead you see the reassuring smile he’s placed on his face. You’ve gone through this song and dance for what seems like forever, it’s what made him such a great friend. You voice a concern, and you know what he’s always going to say next. That’s what you love about Kyle, he’s predictable, stable. He’s going to say, “Don’t worry,” next.
He places a hand on top of yours on the table, “Don’t worry love”, his thumb gently caressing your skin.
After, he reassures you. Tells you it’s not your fault if you find yourself in conflict against someone. Provides advice on what you should decide or do next. Gives you compliments you don’t bother disputing anymore. Always, always on your side, no matter what. You think if you killed someone, accidentally or not, he would say that they probably deserved it. And offer to dump the body for you.
“You’ll have that one day,” he says with such conviction, “Anyone would be so incredibly lucky to have you”.
His gaze feels intense and invasive during these moments. As if he’s been brainwashed and he’s trying to brainwash you too. You think that, to him, there is no conceivable reality or possibility in which you don’t find that kind of love. That anybody would actually be so incredibly lucky to have and hold you. The way archeologists hold artifacts so fragile, yet so full of mystery and wonder. How his hand still encompasses and caresses yours.
Finally, you silently agree. A nod, a hug, a grasp of a hand. You don’t need to say anything for him to know that you listened, acknowledged, and agreed. Advice was asked to the devil, he responded. There’s no backing out of this deal now, or ever.
Taking your hand back from his, and placing your palm on your cheek. Leaning your elbow on the table, you can feel the lingering heat from his hand. You look to Kyle, sigh, and smile.
- - -
The door slams shut and your first instinct is to call Kyle. There’s pressure in your chest, you think it’s coming from your heart. It spreads from your chest to your throat, nose, and eyes. A dam about to burst. You can hardly breath, chocking on the sobs that break free from your mouth. Eyes welled shut in a poor attempt to stop the tears that are overflowing. You feel like a pathetic mess, and you want Kyle.
With blurry vision, you reach for your phone and tap on Kyle’s contact number. First on your recent calls list. As it rings, you lie down on your couch, placing the phone on the cushion next to you. You want Kyle. You want him to take you by the hand and dance with you again.
Left foot forward.
“What’s wrong?” His voice was thick with static, but you could still hear his concern.
You cried. Couldn’t manage to say any words. Just sobbed over the phone.
Right foot sideways to the right.
“Don’t worry,” it’s instinct for him at this point. “I’m on my way.”
Any amount of time could’ve passed, you wouldn’t have known. All you do know is that suddenly a warm familiar presence is felt on your back, rubbing comforting rows. You force yourself to peek at the source of solace that blessed you with their presence. It’s Kyle. Of course, it’s Kyle.
“Hello, dove.” He greets you with a small smile that’s just devastating.
That was the smile that told you that everything was going to be okay. Kyle’s here. He has it taken care of. Don’t worry. Don’t worry at all.
“You lied,” is the whisper that escapes from your chapped lips. Dry as the dessert, you become aware of how thirsty you are. All the fluid having left your body in sad sad rivets.
“About what, love?” Furrowed are his brows anew. Why haven't they gotten stuck like that with how often he worries. About you. Only you. “I can’t help unless you ask for it, my darling, much as I want to”.
The floodgates fill once more behind your eyes. Pressure building up and up again as it once did before. Salty droplets flow again, “You said that I would have that kind of love, but he’s gone, Kyle. He left.”
He lifts you from your depressed slump of a position into his arms. Strong limbs that encompass your fragile delicate frame. Body weakened by heartbreak, grief, and loss. All too sudden and too soon. But he’s here. Kyle is here. And in his arms, you’re protected. Picking up the broken shards, piece by piece until whole once more. He always does.
Burrowing into the comfort that his torso provides. Would carve a home in his chest if he allowed it. Unaware that you already have. Notes of citrus and pine enter your senses. Synapses start to slow, and you reach Nirvana. Heaven is in the arms of this man.
With angelic tones he soothes, “Oh love, I’m so sorry this happened. He’s a right prick, yeah? Wouldn’t know a blessing if it hit him in the face. I told you before, anybody would be so lucky to have you. If he can’t see that, then he’s a blind cunt”.
Left foot to right foot.
You wrap yourself around him, arms reaching towards his shoulder blades. Clinging to his body with yours. With your own arms covering his back, it's as if he has wings. He's flying at this moment. Fear of heights be damned.
- - -
“Kyle-”
Left foot forward.
“Don’t worry, love”
Right foot sideways to the right.
“Okay, Kyle”
Left foot to right foot.
- - -
His lap is surprisingly comfy to use as a head pillow. The TV plays a mystery movie. Kyle loves to try and solve them before the big reveal. You love Kyle.
When did you start to love Kyle?
When did you fall in love with him?
Loving Kyle didn’t feel gradual or sudden. It feels like you’ve always loved him. Why now at this moment were you realising it. Why didn’t you see it before?
Kyle has been there right there in front of you for years. The heartache you could have saved yourself if you weren’t so caught up in your own life. The time and effort wasted on pathetic men who weren’t Kyle. Sweet, perfect, stable Kyle.
Kyle, who's probably not attracted to you at all. Kyle who’s been your best friend for the longest time. Kyle, who you’ve been a terrible friend to. And you say it to him so bluntly.
“I’ve been a terrible friend to you”. Staring at his face for what might be the last time. Memorizing his smile lines, strong nose, the mole above his lip.
“What do you mean, darling?”, the statement doesn’t even phase him. His attention is still focused on the generic mystery film displayed on the TV.
“I mean, you’re always there when I need you. But I don’t do the same for you. You must resent me at least a little bit. I’ve been such a burden. I’m sorry.”
This stops him. He grabs the remote and hits pause. He’s set on you now. Firm hands gently grasp the sides of your face. Brown eyes that seem to draw you in like a blackhole.
“You’re wrong. I don’t think you ever really understood how so very lucky people are, to have you in their lives. How lucky I am, to be in your life. See, darling, it’s quite the opposite. In fact, I need you to need me. Having you need me means, I get to be with you, be there for you. And there’s nothing more priceless than that”.
Slowly sitting up, you turn to face him properly. “Be the luckiest man alive then, and have me”.
His lips are on your before you even know it. Heated hands once again grasping and angling your face to fit his. Like two pieces of a puzzle finally together. Years of yearning, longing, and love pouring into your very being. Fireworks ignite across your nervous system and your vessel is lit aflame. Kissing Kyle is swallowing a supernova.
But humans needs to breath, and so you pull apart, sharing heated breaths across one another’s lips. Foreheads pressed together, nose tips a needle width apart. The rest of your life ahead of you, with the luckiest man alive.

That’s Not True; Sugawara Koushi x fem!reader
synopsis; they’re friends, but they both want more.
wc; 666
warnings; idk slight hurt to comfort, being stood up, mutual pinning ig idk
@phantasmaebg
It was embarrassing.
Night has fallen, draping a twilight blanket over the horizon, specks of stars feebly shining above tired figures.
She was standing, a sense of awkwardness and embarrassment perpetuating inside of her, after having waited for this date too long only for him to never show up. And it wasn’t close to where she lived, she had to use the train to get there.
But now, she couldn’t be bothered. She couldn’t be bothered to walk all the way back to the train station. To deal with sticky bodies against her own, given that it’s rush hour and everyone is getting off work. She couldn’t be bothered, so she did the second best thing she could be bothered to do, and that was to call sugawara to come and pick her up.
And so he did, no questions was asked, no complaints where muttered, just a sweet and simple “I gotcha,” rolling from his sweet, sweet tongue into the speaker of the phone, and she was grateful for that.
A hush fell over them during the ride. She was staring out the window as threads of rain slid off its glass, her eyes trailing each racing droplet. She noticed how he was holding the steering wheel with one hand, moving it in an almost lazy manner. Her cheeks flushed.
The cars finally stopped as Sugawara reverse parked it. She looked around, trying to peak out of the humid, blurred windows.
“okay…I don’t have the best sense of direction but I’m pretty sure that’s not my apartment,” she said, brows furrowing in confusion.
“Yeah, I never said I am going to take you home,” he replied, snickering slightly.
“What?”
“I’m your date for today,”
Her lips slightly parted. She didn’t know what to say.
“Quit the jokes, suga,” she muttered, staring outside the window yet again, this time her chin was propped in her hand.
He was probably missing with me, she thought. We can’t just do this, she thought.
“Why would it be a joke?” he asked, voice coming out a bit more serious.
“Because we’ve been friends for ages?”
“So?” he questioned
“You can’t just take me out like that,”
“Hm, let’s see. What were you doing yesterday?” he asked, narrowing his eyes slightly.
“Lying on your bed?” she turned her head to look at him, slightly confused.
“Lying on my bed with me beside you,” he corrected.
“Your point?” she knew his point. Whatever they had was more than friends. She knew this much, but nothing else, or rather, she didn’t want to know anything else because it scares her.
Not seeing him for a day scares her. If they were to ever date and breakup, she’s scared that she’ll never get over him. She knows she’ll never get over him, after all, finding a guy like suga is probably as rare as spotting a four leaf clover amongst a field of blooming flowers.
“My point is, instead of dating shitty men, you can just date me,” he breathed.
“We’re better off as friends,”
“You know that’s not true,”
“But it is! If we ever broke up I’ll be damned,” she almost yelled, she didn’t mean to. But he just smiled in return.
“Is that what you’re worried about?”
“Yes it is,” she turned her head back to the window, hands feeling sweaty and clammy despite the cold weather.
“That’s got an easy solution. We’ll never break up,”
She snapped her head again. “Not very realistic,”
“It is,” he argued
“Just try, I promise you nothing bad will happen to us,”
She took a second to ponder over that thought. They’ve been friends for years. They’ve been like this for years. She’d like more, though. Maybe waking up and tasting his lips, or spending endless nights on end talking, his arms wrapped around her. She wanted that.
“Okay,” she breathed. There it was again, his signature smile, lopsided but she wouldn’t mind kissing it.
“Okay,” he returned, his breath slightly hitching.

No one told me yesterday was Richard Winters’s birthday, so I wrote this upon suggestion of @audreyroget and to make up for missing the day
Bastogne, 1945
Dick shivered and pulled his knees closer to his chest. His watch ticking the only other sound in the foxhole besides his chattering teeth, a cruel reminder that he was spending his 26th birthday nearly freezing to death. Lord, what he wouldn’t do to be back at home with his mom making some big fuss as he half-heartedly tried to push her efforts away.
He was stirred from his memories by the sound of the tarp above him quickly being pulled away. He looked up to see Nix drop onto the cold dirt next to him, as he dropped something into Dick’s lap. Dick picked it up to see it was a candy bar.
“Happy Birthday,” Nix replied simply with a proud grin, when Dick looked back at him in shock.
“How did you-” Dick started
“Not important.”
“Lew-”
“I didn’t steal it, if that’s what you’re concerned about. I just traded my smokes for it. A lot of them, to be honest, but nothing but the best for our birthday boy huh?” Nix explained with a shrug of his shoulders.
“Lew, this is-” The nicest thing anyone’s ever done for me, he wanted to say.
“Thank you,” he settled on instead.
“Yeah, well, I do what I can,” Nix smiled and Dick was almost convinced he could make all the ice outside melt away.
Ducking his head, partially to how the blush he could feel rising to his cheeks, Dick unwrapped the candy bar and broke off a piece of it. He handed the piece to Nix, who tried to refuse it.
“Please,” Dick insisted. “It’s my birthday.” He said after a beat, which caused both of them to start laughing from how childish it sounded. But Nix finally took the piece of chocolate.
After the two stopped laughing they sat in a quiet comfortable silence, eating their respective pieces of candy when Nix spoke.
“When we make it out of here, I’ll take you somewhere for a real nice birthday dinner.”
“...Sounds perfect, Lew.”
Pennsylvania, 1968
Dick rolled over in bed, reaching for the other side of the bed, only to find it empty. Pulling himself up, he heard the sound of someone rummaging around in the kitchen. He smiled fondly to himself, knowing it was Lew making him some special birthday breakfast. It had been his ritual ever since the two had come back to the states together. Ever since he’d gone back to Pennsylvania only for Nix to show up on his doorstep 3 months later.
“I can’t do this without you,” was all he said before he pulled Dick into a kiss.
He cooked breakfast, gave Dick a sentimental present, then they’d have dinner later after Dick got back from work, and fall asleep curled against each other.
It might not sound like much but it was everything to Dick. 24 years later and he loved every second of it.
“Morning old man,” Lew greeted Dick as he padded into the kitchen.
“I’m old? Cause I’m fifty?”
“Uh-huh”
“And should we check how old you are?”
Lew feigned a hurt look as he passed Dick a cup of coffee. ‘I’ve never been so hurt in my entire life.”
“I’m sure you’ll recover.”
“Might not.”
“You have to. It’s my birthday.”
Lew laughed loudly, like it wasn’t still completely annoying and no longer cute for a grown army officer to use that retort.
“Stay right here,” Nix laughed, kissing Dick on the cheek, before leaving to go retrieve something from upstairs.
He returned with a small but heavy looking box that he handed to Dick. Dick opened the top to see a shiny watch face on a simple band inside. It was a watch he’d seen in the store and commented on how nice he thought it was.
“I had a little inscription added on the inside,” Lew added.
Dick turned over the watch to see on the back was inscribe
Forever and Always yours
-Lew
“Oh Lew, it’s perfect,” Dick smiled as he pulled Nix towards him to kiss him softly.
“Happy birthday, darling.” Lew murmured when the two pulled away.

iii. location drop
pairing: eventual gi-hun x gn!reader x in-ho
word count: 7.1k
ao3 | masterlist
Young-il is so… interesting. In many ways he reminds you of yourself – he’s always studying the world around him, always listening, he can be remarkably serious and endearingly lighthearted in the same conversation, and he’s wickedly sharp. Much smarter than you are, that’s for sure, but you like that. It’s nice to speak to someone with so much life already lived and hear the way they view the world, even if it doesn’t always align with your own ideals. He challenges you, too. In ways you never would have imagined. That’s what makes him so intriguing.
His smile catches the light when you see him. “I’m sorry I’m late,” he says as he starts shrugging off his coat. His cheeks are flushed from the cold, his hair pushed away from his face in an elegant swoop.
You hum lightly into your cup. “Business stuff?”
Young-il nods. “Of a sort.” He eyes the extra cup of coffee on the table as he moves to sit across from you. “Trying something new?”
“It’s yours,” you correct. “Black Americano, right?”
Surprise tints his features and you feel a stab of pride for managing to catch him so off guard. “You remembered.”
His reaction shouldn’t sit as warm and cozy as it does in your chest, but you don’t fight it. Still, you try to play it off with a shrug. “I remember all kinds of things.”
A hand slips into his trouser pocket and it doesn’t occur to you until he’s pulling out his wallet that he wants to repay you. Before he can utter a single suggestion, you stop him. “Oh, no, that’s alright. I don’t mind,” you reply with a politely dismissive wave. “You can cover me next time, if you want.”
Truthfully, you’re still adjusting to the idea of purchasing whatever you want when you want it. You can’t (and won’t) go out and buy a brand-new sports car or anything, but even something as mundane as a coffee feels like a splurge with how strict you’ve been in the past. Gi-hun wants you to be happy, though, to have all your needs met, and if that’s what he wants…
“I was starting to think you weren’t coming,” you say after a moment. That wasn’t exactly what you had intended to say; you were trying to find something to say that wasn’t the same boring topics he always hears from you, but your mind had wandered and gotten lost somewhere between point A and point B.
Young-il’s still a bit taken aback, but you can see him smiling when he takes a sip of his coffee. “You would have missed me that much?”
He’s very clearly teasing you, but the fact of the matter is that yes, you would have missed him if he hadn’t shown. You don’t have many friends apart from him and Gi-hun who is, more often than not, busy doing whatever it is that he does. It’s not exactly a normal friendship, no matter how hard you strive to make it so, no matter how much you’ve come to care for him. Young-il, on the other hand, is less closed off, more engaging. He’s a normal businessman who does normal things like drink coffee and do guest lectures for some of the business students. You haven’t been able to see any of his talks yet, but you have a feeling they’re good.
You hide your own smile behind your cup when you go to take a sip, hoping that he doesn’t see just how tickled you are. “Don’t let it get to your head.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it.”
The conversation flows loosely from there. Young-il has recently taken over his business from the previous owner and as a result, his time is limited. Too many meetings, too much paperwork, and a lot of strategizing. You, on the other hand, have several short papers due this week that you’ve been putting off, not to mention the final project looming in the back of your mind as each week ticks by.
“There’s an extra credit module I was thinking of completing,” you say casually, as if your heart isn’t about to beat right out of your chest. “We have to visit the art gallery here on campus and write a reflection about our experience.”
You’ve been thinking of asking him to go with you. It makes sense considering he’s always on campus. You might almost think him a student if you didn’t know any better. But the difference between thinking about asking and actually asking is great – you don’t even know if he likes art, if he cares enough about your casual little friendship to meet you outside of weekly coffee meetings and words exchanged in passing on your way to the bus stop. Maybe you’re asking for too much. What if he thinks you’re weird?
So it takes you by surprise when Young-il leans forward slightly, his curiosity piqued. “I wasn’t aware there was an art gallery.”
You wipe a bit of liquid from the corner of your mouth. Could it really be this easy? “Yeah! They have a rotation of displays and visiting artists. The one we have currently is focused on surrealism. They’re displaying copies of some famous pieces, as well as art from several of our students.” Your eyes dart nervously over Young-il’s frame, trying to determine how open he is to the idea. He seems interested enough. “I haven’t been to a gallery in a little while and the extra credit would help raise my grade a bit.”
He nods thoughtfully. “It seems like you’ve already decided to go.”
“I think so, yes.” Your lungs constrict painfully below the canopy of your ribcage. If you don’t ask now, you’ll never find the courage to try again. “Would you like to go with me?”
A moment ticks by uneventfully. Then another.
Searching Young-il’s eyes tells you nothing. You can’t determine what he’s thinking, no matter how hard you look. The only insight his silence offers you is the weight of his gaze as he studies you, as if you were the art piece and he the seasoned purveyor.
His head tilts ever so slightly to one side. “You want me to join you?” He doesn’t sound disinterested in the idea, but neither does he sound fully invested.
You swallow nervously. “Yes. If you want.”
“Why me? Surely you have other friends you could go with, some of the students in your class, perhaps?”
Ah. So he’s not interested. You can feel your face heat up with the embarrassment of his rejection. You suddenly find the shapeless stain of a former coffee spill on the table inexplicably fascinating.
“I guess I probably should have asked one of them first.” You try to wrap the tail end of your response in a light chuckle, but it’s forced and uncomfortable. You end up grimacing more than anything else. “I’m sure you’re busy, what with your business and everything.”
What you want to say is that you wouldn’t go with any of your classmates even if you were paid to do it. What you want to say is that you’ve come to greatly enjoy his company and the little breaks in your otherwise monotonous routine that his presence provides. But of course, you can’t say any of that.
You reach for your drink, hoping to fill the awkward space with a couple sips of something tasty, but you’ve already drained the cup. There’s nothing left except for a few spare drops.
Young-il shifts in his seat, drawing your attention as he adjusts his sleeves. He’s rolling them up to his elbow, exposing all that previously unseen skin and the muscles of his forearms, and… Oh. Maybe this means more to you than you’d previously thought. Maybe you’ve developed a bit of a crush. That’s embarrassing.
“Next Tuesday,” he says, his attention still focused on the task at hand. “I have a break in my schedule around noon.”
For a few scattered inhalations, you’re left feeling lost. You were so sure he was uninterested based on the, well, everything about him, but now he’s saying exactly the opposite.
“I… Huh?”
The corner of his mouth twitches and for the briefest of micro-minutes, you think you see something soft hidden in his eyes. “If you’re free then?”
Right. Next Tuesday. Noon. Your brain putters around for a bit as it tries to play catch up to the conversation, but eventually the fog clears. You have an opening in your schedule around that time, too, funnily enough. The date is set – not that it’s that kind of date – and the conversation fades back into normalcy, but the entire time your heart is racing because Young-il has agreed to go with you and you feel an abnormal amount of excitement pooling in your stomach because of it.
The thing is, Gi-hun has told you before that you ought to make more friends. He knows that he is essentially the only person you spend time with on a regular basis and he’s not sure if he should feel guilty or honored by that fact. He should be happy for you that you’ve finally found a friend, that you’re getting out of your apartment and socializing. It’s just that when he had pictured a friend, Gi-hun had imagined someone around your own age, not… this.
The unknown man looks closer to Gi-hun’s age than yours. Not that that’s a bad thing. He’s your friend too, isn’t he? He simply finds it worrying. Older men and younger college students are something of a suspicious combination, no matter how refined and put together they seem. Like your new friend.
Still, there’s nothing harmless about meeting a friend for coffee. An older friend. Who doesn’t seem to do much apart from loitering around the business building and talking to you.
You’re fine, he tells himself, even as he pulls the brim of his cap down over his eyes and sips at his own drink. You can take care of yourself. But it doesn’t hurt that he’s here to watch over you, just in case. The last person in a suit to approach you had turned out to be a recruiter and it would be foolish of him to assume that you’re safe simply because you’ve thrown the card away and started heeding his advice.
Jeong-rae and his men are busy scouting the subways with a few more sets of eyes than usual to make up for Gi-hun’s absence. He has a pistol on him in case things go badly or your mysterious new friend turns out to be something he’s not, but he thinks (he hopes) that won’t be necessary.
Your coffee meet-up ends within the hour. Gi-hun has already finished his own drink long before, but he keeps sipping at his cup to sell the illusion that he belongs here, tucked into the corner of the campus coffee shop and watching you. He tries not to feel like he’s doing something wrong. Because he isn’t. He’s keeping you safe. If you’d had family or friends in the Games when he was there, he would have sworn to look after you and that’s all he’s doing now.
You head for the bus stop, your friend heads for the nearest parking lot. Gi-hun follows. He watches your friend settle into a very normal looking car – not obnoxiously flashy, but not a rundown heap of scrap metal either – and drive off, and he follows closely in his own vehicle. And if he gets a bit of a rush from tracking this man down and vetting him, then that’s his own business.
The man drives to a corner store and disappears inside for several minutes. When he comes out again, he drops a bag into the passenger seat and leans against the door while he smokes. Gi-hun suddenly pretends to find his mobile very interesting. He double, triple, and quadruple checks his incoming messages – no sign of the recruiter so far – and eventually finds himself pulling out his own stack of cigarettes and lighting one up.
By the end of the night, Gi-hun’s mission leads him to a hotel in one of the quieter pockets of the city. Your friend is entirely unthreatening and uninteresting. He feels a little foolish for letting himself get so caught up in his own paranoia – taking a gun with him? Really? Whoever he is, this man hardly looks like the same unhinged species of psychotic as the recruiter that had sealed his fate so long ago.
You can handle yourself, he reminds himself, perhaps for the fiftieth time today. And he knows it’s true. You’re smart and very capable, even if you are a bit trusting. You’re not the problem – it’s the rest of the world that worries him, the recruiters and game runners of society who could snuff out your light without blinking an eye. He won’t allow it, not even if it aggravates his paranoia and leaves him sleepless in the early hours of the morning.
Gi-hun will just need to keep a closer eye on you. To keep you safe. It’s a small sacrifice to make in return for your life.
In-ho carefully studies his reflection, smoothing a hand over his hair and straightening the collar of his shirt. He doesn’t usually wear a suit when he meets with you like he does when conducting Game business, opting instead for dark, soft things like turtlenecks and knit sweaters. Spring is finally here, but the chill of winter still lingers, so he suspects you’ll be neatly bundled as you were when he met you in the autumn. He’s mirroring you, trying things that subconsciously lure you into a false sense of security, and you’re falling for it every step of the way. It’s no wonder Gi-hun managed to worm his way into your life.
Gi-hun.
His mouth curls into a self-satisfied smirk. 456 had been a bit of a surprise, admittedly, a wrench in his otherwise perfectly executed plans. But In-ho has the training of a decorated police officer; 456 is gutter filth. And gutter filth, no matter how cunning, how desperate, or how rich, cannot overcome decades of rigorous training with the best police force in the country. He spotted Gi-hun the moment he pulled out of the campus parking lot – the rest had simply been a game that he was willing to play.
Today is a game of another sort. In his youth, In-ho had never been much of a flirt. Charming, perhaps, even suave if he was in the mood, but a flirt? It just wasn’t his style. But there is something to the Young-il persona that prompts him to try. Perhaps it’s the anonymity. Maybe it’s the low stakes and high reward – you’re not a genuine romantic prospect, you’re a target, and that means that it’s not his ego being bruised by your potential rejection but his predatory prowess.
Except you haven’t rejected him. You have, quite surprisingly, invited him further into your life. You have carved out a space for him in the otherwise uneventful and meaningless scope of your existence, and In-ho is painfully curious to discover how far he can push you before you fall completely.
He arrives at the gallery nearly an hour early, content to peruse the art nearest to the entrance and sufficiently prepare himself. It’s been several years since he has studied art in any meaningful way. He was more prone to it in the years before Oh Il-nam and Gi-hun’s Game, but he was more prone to many things back then – holiday phone calls to his brother, flowers at his wife’s grave. He doesn’t have time for such things anymore. Still, he finds the familiarity of the art, the artist, and the solemnity of viewership a comforting thing.
When you appear several minutes before noon, short of breath and clearly frazzled, In-ho finds it difficult to suppress his smile. You make your intentions so clearly known without ever realizing how transparent you are. Eagerness is written across your face so plainly, it may as well be a brand. Your eyes light up when you spot him, like a child encountering their favorite toy. Only – no, that’s a poor comparison. As young and foolish as you may be, you aren’t a child. A pet, perhaps. Clever enough with the capabilities you’ve been born with, but ultimately submissive to the hand of the master that feeds it.
“Hi,” you greet him with a flash of a smile. You’re already pulling off your coat only to grip it in your mouth while you start rummaging through your backpack, all before he can get more than a simple ‘hello’ out in response. Hardly a minute later, you’re settled with a notebook and pencil in hand, and your coat shoved haphazardly into your backpack. “Okay. Ready.”
He allows himself a moment of genuine amusement. “You seem eager.”
“Always eager to learn, Young-il-nim,” you answer with a little tap of your pencil against your forehead.
He takes the initiative to open the gallery door for you, reveling in the small victory of your poorly hidden surprise. “I take it you haven’t studied much Surrealism before, then?”
You shake your head. In-ho is keen to observe your expressions, but already you’ve tilted your face away to analyze the first painting, a popular Dalí piece that makes a clear impact on you. You murmur your way through the informative sign plastered beside the canvas with furrowed brows and inquiring, contemplative eyes.
“That’s so sad.”
He scans over the sign, confirming the information he already knows – a commentary on the Spanish Civil War of the 1930’s, made by an apolitical artist who chose to side neither with the fascists nor the Republic that rose up to fight it. What is it about political neutrality that is so heartbreaking to you? Or are you, perhaps, more drawn to the hollow grief portrayed in the painting itself?
Before he can find the words to ask, you’ve already taken the initiative to expand upon your remark. “His sister was killed by one side and his friend by the other. But he still didn’t take a side.” The hand holding your pencil is hovering lightly over the sign, fingers almost but not quite touching the words – as if you were afraid to touch it and mar its tragedy with your own simplistic worldview. “I can’t even imagine that.”
Something akin to sympathy flares up inside him before quickly turning to the flush of displeasure. Not anger, not yet. “Imagine what?” he prompts.
At last, you turn your face and allow him the chance to swallow every minute, flickering micro expression. “Any of it. Losing your family to the people who are meant to help you and then losing your friend to the people who want to hurt you.” The knot in your throat bobs when you swallow. How curious that you seem to be so deeply affected by something you have no true understanding of. “I guess I wouldn’t know which side to choose either, but I can’t say that I’d want to side with the fascists.”
In-ho nods, unsurprised. No, he can’t imagine that you would either. He tries not to think too hard on the implications – of the painting, of your sudden swell of emotions, or of the memories already pressing hard against the interior of his skull.
Your head tips down as you scribble a few notes in your book, followed by the click of your phone camera. He glances over your handwriting, a mix of Korean and your native tongue, before you eventually step away, turning to the next piece. He stays, only for a heartbeat or two, eyes lingering on the canvas before finally deciding to trail after you.
Most of the pieces in the gallery are somewhat familiar to him, though he doesn’t care for all of them. Some are too fantastical for his tastes, some are too nonsensical. Others leave him feeling perplexed, as they once did when he was younger, more bereaved and less inclined to the logic that rules his life now. And then – then there are the pieces that remind him of the Games. Chess pieces in vast, unending landscapes. Peering eyes devoid of faces, studying the audience the way the VIPs study the players. Staircases that lead to nowhere and doors that open to nothing, tangling together like the labyrinthine maze of pastel walls he has come to call both his home and his work.
Your reaction to each of them is as predictable as ever. “‘We often believe we're being led to a higher place when perhaps we're not going anywhere,’” you read. Your pencil taps against the corner of your mouth. “Well, that’s a bit grim.”
He suppresses the urge to roll his eyes – barely. “Is it?” Surely you can see the logic in such an argument, even if you don’t agree with it? Or must he spell everything out for you?
The gears in your head begin to turn, slow and steady. “It sounds more like depression to me than an actually viable outlook on life. Maybe you aren’t going anywhere because you’re holding yourself back, you know? You’ve closed all the doors that you can escape through and now you’re ramming your head into the wall, wondering why nothing’s happening.”
In-ho’s exhalation is heavier than it usually is, the tone of it caught somewhere between amusement, contemplation, and disbelief.
“Not that I’m judging him for feeling that way, Mister…” You lean in to check the name of the artist. “M.C. Escher.”
“I suppose you find it hard to relate to – feeling hopeless?” It’s not entirely fair of him to say and he is more than aware, but he wants to see that spark in your eyes. He wants to hear you explain yourself. Prove to him how miserable the world is, that your vision is flawed.
But where In-ho had expected anger, he instead finds something more subdued. The subtle tilt of your head, betraying the indignation you feel at his assumption. The flexing of the muscle in your jaw. The deep inhalation that makes your ribs expand. You make a sound in the back of your throat, a quiet hum overflowing with enough emotions that he can’t possibly translate them all. “I didn’t say that,” you murmur. “I just… prefer to be optimistic instead. When I can be.”
You don’t seem to like the labyrinthine staircases leading nowhere and he wonders, not for the first time and far from the last, how you would fare in the Games. Optimism is beloved by the naïve – it won’t get you very far. How would you have fared in his Game? In Seong Gi-hun’s? How quickly would your optimism have killed you?
He takes another opportunity to study you as you shoulder past him, still clearly upset by his remark. You are such a sensitive thing. How do you manage to survive in the world burdened by the weight of your own sympathies? Is it Gi-hun’s money that eases your heart, makes it easier to ignore the death and corruption all around you? Is it your own ignorance that makes life bearable?
His hands twitch with the sudden desire to pull you apart and discover exactly what it is that makes you tick. What mechanisms lie beneath your skin? Would you cry if he pulled them out one by one? Would you rage?
“I’m sorry,” he says, coming up behind you as you move to the next collection of works. “I’ve upset you.”
“No,” you reply, too quickly for it to be anything other than a lie. “I just wanted to look at the others, that’s all.”
You’re a terrible liar, at least when you’re agitated. In-ho rests his hand on your shoulder, his tongue already sharpened with the blade of a few clever words, when he happens to look up and catch a glimpse of the painting you’ve chosen to study. It hits him all at once – the empty nights, the cheap bourbon and even cheaper whiskey, the agonizing pit in his stomach, the hospital bills – and suddenly, In-ho finds that he can do little more than stand there, his mouth agape, and sway against the current that threatens to sweep him off his feet.
René Magritte. L’Empire des lumières. He would know it anywhere.
He’s distantly aware of you turning to look at him, your shoulder twisting under his hand, your voice curling around the shape of a stranger’s name, but it’s little more than a vague, hazy noise in the back of his mind.
A brightly illuminated sky dotted with pearlescent clouds. (He thinks of the arenas, splattered with blood.) A darkened street. Trees silhouetted against the clouds. A house, lonely and empty, its reflection in the water below unfocused. (He thinks of the apartment he’d had with his wife, how empty it was when he returned home from the Games.) A single lamppost illuminates the darkness of the house. One. Alone. Sturdy and strong, blazing against the emptiness.
“What is it? Young-il-nim?”
“My wife...” The words croak out of him, unbidden, unwanted. He shakes his head to try and clear his thoughts, but he can’t shake the memories.
Your hands drop – wherever they had been on his person previously, he doesn’t know, nor does he care. All he sees, all he knows is the apartment he had holed himself up in after she died. Some small, cramped shoebox that offered less personality, less freedom, than the rooms he offered to his own soldiers. The two little fish on his desk, long dead by now. The books he left behind. The card from his first Game – the only thing left of her. The paintings.
The paintings.
He can still remember the first time he saw them. Drunk on grief and so violently angry at the world, he had stumbled his way through Seoul, reliving the old haunts from the happier days of his marriage. The theatre, the mall, the academy he had graduated from, the gallery where they met… He remembers his face being wet with spit and tears. He remembers peering in through the darkened windows, searching for something that no longer existed. He remembers the paintings, the isolated lamppost standing tall in a sea of hopelessness. He remembers thinking he may as well be that lamppost, trying desperately to illumine an abandoned house haunted by the Games that had stolen his hope, his humanity, his last moments with the only person in the entire world who could have saved him.
In-ho pries desperately at the air around him, trying to relearn how to breathe even as he’s swept below the current. He’s only vaguely aware that he’s left you behind, that his surroundings have shifted. It doesn’t matter. None of it matters.
He should have known better. Magritte is one of the most popular artists in the genre. He should have expected to see his works, but he hadn’t been thinking clearly. He was so focused on his game, on luring you further into his trap and wielding the victory over Seong Gi-hun’s head. He was so busy playing the Front Man that he had forgotten Hwang In-ho.
“I need to apologize.” It’s the first thing he says when he sees you again, almost two weeks later.
You wave him off very politely, but he can tell that you’ve already started to close yourself off to him and that simply won’t do. After everything he has suffered and endured to lure you and 456 into his trap, he will not allow his plans to crumble over a past he cannot change.
“It’s alright, Young-il-nim. I could tell you were upset. I’m just glad you’re okay.” Your eyes are sad for the first time since he’s met you. “I was worried.”
For a moment – the briefest, most fleeting of seconds – he allows himself the indulgence of your compassion. He may not need it, but it is a balm on the freshly torn open scar of his grief all the same. He covers your hand with both of his in thanks. The words don’t come for a very long time.
“My wife died eight years ago.” And he can still see her face even now, even after everything he’s done. “We met in a gallery, like the one here. She loved art, loved the theatre and music. She was… bright.” Like a streetlamp illuminating the darkened eaves of his heart. “After she died, that painting was the first thing I saw and it–.”
He’s struck by the onslaught of tears poking at his waterline. He shouldn’t be telling you any of this. Yet some ancient corner of his heart that had shriveled up the night he held her death certificate in his hands is crying out, desperate to be heard, and for once, In-ho doesn’t have the strength or will to fight himself.
“It reminded me of what she was to me – a light in an unforgiving world.” He swallows hard as the world swims all around him. He can feel your gaze on his cheek, your fingers curled around his. “I hadn’t expected to see it again and I reacted poorly.”
The swiftness of your reply nearly guts him. You press your body closer to his, from your shoulder down to your knees as you lean in, voice soft and eyes misty. “You didn’t… you didn’t do anything you shouldn’t have. I’m sorry.” You rub your thumb over the back of his hand and all In-ho can do is stare. “I’m sorry you had to relive that. That’s… I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.”
It isn’t worth much, but the apology is kind and he appreciates it for what it is.
“What was her name? If you don’t mind me asking?”
“Min-jung.” Her face flashes across his memory again – the wide eyes and bright smile he had fallen for so instantaneously, the laughter, the joy. “Kang Min-jung.”
You repeat the name to yourself with a reverence he doesn’t expect, but then, he hadn’t expected any of this. For all the control he tries so desperately to cling to, In-ho is wildly out of his depth. He feels unmoored and listless.
“It’s a beautiful name. I’m sorry you lost her.”
He nods. “As am I.” It’s the truest thing he’s said in years.
“Is there…” Your mouth tilts into a frown as you search for the right words. “Is there anything I can do for you?” The inclination of his head and the exaggerated lifting of his brows encourages you to explain further. “I just feel bad. You wouldn’t have reacted like that if I hadn’t invited you with me.”
There, he realizes. It’s an opening, a crack for him to slip his fingers into and apply some pressure. A glimpse at control. After two weeks of drowning in memories and grief, In-ho relishes the thought.
“You have nothing to apologize for, [___]. But I would like to make it up to you, if I can.”
“You don’t have to–”
He raises his hand with a smile. “I would like to.” And because you are the naïve, optimistic thing that you are, you will say yes. “Allow me to drive you home today.”
The first time he enters your apartment is a bit surreal. It had been a hired hand to install the camera that he studies you through and he’s learned quite a bit that way – your practically non-existent breakfast routine, the things you watch on your TV (you’ve rewatched the same show at least five times in the last month and a half, surely there’s something more fascinating you could be doing with your time?), and sometimes he can even catch a conversation or two between you and Gi-hun. Those occurrences are always so interesting. But actually stepping into your living space provides In-ho with even more context to the knowledge he’s already gathered.
You have a very specific taste in candles, not wholly unpleasant but perhaps a bit of an acquired taste. There is an entire wall of your living room that has been unviewable until now, mostly wall décor of the variety people your age tend to obsess over like pop groups and Western franchises, but there are other things too. A photo album of your time spent in Seoul. A crisp, dried-up plant that might once have been green. Little trinkets you’ve clearly purchased at some hole-in-the-wall tourist trap. And the amount of books you own is surprising. Old textbooks from classes long since passed, well-worn Korean workbooks, even romance novels that would make any sensible person flush with shame.
“It’s just down there,” you say, pointing vaguely to your right as you shrug off your backpack. “The door doesn’t always close fully, so you have to push it a little hard.”
He nods his thanks and starts down the hall. There are two doors: one to your bedroom and one to the toilet, though there’s only one that he actually finds interesting. He manages to sneak a glance into your room as he passes, but the shades are drawn and the door is only slightly cracked, so there isn’t much to see. In-ho thinks that one of his cufflinks may eventually find its way inside.
The bathroom is as uninteresting as he had suspected it would be, though small things still catch his eye. He cannot truly recall the last time he was so thoroughly surrounded by the presence of another person. Your scent lingers in the hair products, body wash, and body spray, your personality sparkling in the bits of jewelry scattered on the counter. Your favorite color is made apparent in the towel, toothbrush cup, and floor rug, and even your underwear preference jumps out at him. You must have left them on the floor after you showered this morning.
In-ho feels a surge of memories flaring at the base of his skull, begging to be released, but he pushes them back. This isn’t domestic. This is business, plain and simple. The comparison is superficial at best and he will not entertain it.
He flushes the toilet to keep up appearances, washes his hands, then quickly undoes one of his cufflinks. It rolls quietly down the edge of the door until it finally stops somewhere inside your room, and he smiles to himself, just for a moment, to revel in his success.
You flash him a smile of your own when he re-enters the sitting room. “All better?”
“Yes, thank you.”
You’ve curled up on the sofa in his absence, scrolling absently through your phone as he meanders toward the front door. “Oh, are you- are you leaving already?” And don’t you sound so distraught at the idea?
“Unfortunately, yes. I have a business meeting in a few hours,” which is a blatant lie, “and I don’t want to take up too much of your time.” He goes to adjust his jacket sleeves one at a time, waiting patiently, patiently for you to rise from your seat and bid him farewell.
“Aw. Well, good luck with your meeting, I guess.” You reach past him to open the door. “Don’t work too hard, now. You might hurt yourself.”
In-ho chuckles. “I’ll keep that in mind.” He fixes his other sleeve, fingers fumbling with the empty space where there ought to be cool metal, and he halts mid-step.
Your eyes drift to the open part of his shirt sleeve where his wrist is exposed. “You okay?”
He schools his face into something more serious. “My cufflink is missing. I… I could’ve sworn I still had it in the car.” As if he actually cares about something so trivial.
Much to his delight, your entire expression crumples. “Oh no! D’you think you lost it somewhere in here, or…?”
You accept the lie so easily, it’s no wonder that 456 was able to approach you. Are you truly so gullible that you cannot see through even the simplest of manipulations?
“I’m not sure,” he hums.
“Can I see?”
True confusion wrinkles in his brow when he looks at you. “What?”
One of your hands lifts to point at his right arm. “The other one. Can I see what it looks like?”
In-ho nods and offers his hand without hesitation, twisting his wrist to allow you a better view, but he finds himself stilling as you draw nearer. Your expressions are always genuine, but often some level of restrained or distanced. You like him, but you try not to show it. Yet now, as you had only an hour before, all that hesitation seems to dissipate in the wake of this small inconvenience.
And then you touch him. It is a brief and unassuming thing, merely the press of your fingertips on his forearm as you tilt his wrist toward you, but for In-ho, you may as well have shot him point blank. Some strange uncertainty passes over him, accompanied by a tightening in his chest and a hesitation in his lungs.
“I’ll take a look around in here,” you say, as casual as you ever are and entirely blind to his current state. “Maybe it fell off when you came inside.”
The collar of his shirt feels too tight when he swallows. “I’ll check the bathroom.”
You aren’t afraid of him. The realization is akin to the detonation of a bomb. Here, in this moment, he is not Oh Young-il. Young-il is a vulnerable dream wrapped in just enough mystery to keep you coming back to him time and time again. In this moment, he is the Front Man, he is a man with decades of police training and cunning drilled into his skull. And you aren’t afraid of him.
He wanders into the bathroom with unseeing eyes, his forearm tingling in the same spot where you’d touched him. Your toothbrush stares back at him, unblinking and undisturbed by the intensity of his glare. How many years has it been since someone looked at him and was visibly unafraid? How long since he has felt the touch of anything beyond the clinical sting of forceps and his brother’s bullet in his flesh?
Hyung…
He squeezes his eyes shut against the sound of Jun-ho’s voice, the frayed nerves around the edges of his bullet wound suddenly twisting in agony.
“I’m going to check outside!” you call from the sitting room. “Be right back!”
This is ridiculous. Even as he shoulders his way from the bathroom to your bedroom, he can feel himself growing more and more agitated. The overhead light flickers on as he swoops down to grab his cufflink. You’re nothing more than a pawn in the grander game. You have no clue how incredibly unremarkable and minuscule you are. His gaze flits over framed photos of your friends and family, the unmade bed, the hamper of folded laundry and the lazy pile of dirtied clothes just beside it. You’re nothing, no one. He could squeeze the life out of you right now and no one but 456 would even miss you.
The tendons in his hands constrict, suddenly curling his fingers into fists. He could do it. You would fall apart so easily in his hands.
He looks to the small, cluttered table beside your bed. A clock, a bodhisattva figurine (likely from any number of the temples across Seoul), a phone charger, a book. You are so painfully mundane. Killing you would be a favor, to himself and anyone unfortunate enough to know you, and it would shatter Seong Gi-hun. That much he can be sure of. So –
In-ho pauses mid-step. His pulse ticks just below his ear. He turns.
The book on your table is brand new, he can still see the price sticker along the spine and the receipt you’ve manufactured into a bookmark, but that isn’t what draws his eye. It’s the painting on the cover, the name of the artist that makes him feel as if he’s just been dragged to the lowest depths of the ocean.
René Magritte – L’Empire des lumières.
He would know it anywhere. He spent five whole years staring at the damn thing from inside the four cramped walls of his shithole apartment. The first painting he saw after…
He rushes for the exit as fast as his legs will carry him.
“Did you find-? Are you okay?” You’re standing just inside the front door, your phone in hand and the flashlight still turned on, peering curiously at him.
He very nearly drops his car keys when he tries to snag them from the table. “I have to go.”
“Is everything alright?”
He doesn’t reply, can’t reply. There aren’t words. But your voice lingers long after you’re gone. Other things linger too, other pieces of the past that haunt him no matter the time or distance spent trying to disconnect himself. He feels flayed apart and exposed. He feels raw. He feels… angry.
He buys himself a bottle of whiskey on his way back to the hotel, the cheapest, shittiest brand with the most bitter taste. He drowns himself in it. He spends the entire night locked inside his hotel room, his insides pulling at his outsides, fingers itching to pull the trigger on a loaded gun. You, Gi-hun, himself, he doesn’t care who dies, so long as the influx of memories and regret and utter fucking loneliness dissipate and he is allowed a moment of peace.
But for a man like Hwang In-ho, for the Frontman, he knows there is no such thing. Peace is a luxury only afforded to a few, usually the rich fucks who fly themselves to the island to bet on lives and bloodlust.
You likely think you have that same peace, bloated as you are with Gi-hun’s money. You hadn’t been so different from him before 456 came into your life – a student with a dream, low on funds but high in hopes – except you had found favor where In-ho had not. There was no rich, pathetic billionaire with a guilty conscience to spare him several hundred thousand won when his wife and child were dying. There was no mercy to be found in the cruel and selfish loan sharks, doctors, or police chiefs. There had only been the Games and their unfaltering equality.
His lip curls into a snarl as he downs the last of the whiskey. Equality. 456 had shattered that illusion, but In-ho knows exactly what to do to piece it back together. After all, there’s only one place in the world where true equality exists.

ROUGH WEEK!
PAIRING! Ken “Okarun” Takakura x Fem! Reader
GENERE! Hurt/Comfort + Fluff
WARNINGS! Slight ooc Ken, but shhh
SUMMARY! After a rough week you just want to spend some time with Ken, but before you can even do that your emotions seem to get the best of you.
A/N! Firts fic on the new blog! yayyy!!
It had been a rough week. Nothing had gone the way you had hoped, and you were ready to collapse in your bed and not move for a whole month. There was only one thing keeping you going, and that was the promise to spend some time with Ken. You didn’t get a lot of time for each other during the week, you were each busy with your own things, but you always made sure to make time for each other on the weekend.
This weekend was no different. Thankfully, though, neither of you had actually planned anything ahead of time, so you could follow through with your plan of laying in bed all weekend but with the added company of Ken.
You and Ken were supposed to meet up and walk to your home together, but the minutes were dragging on and there was still no sign of your beloved Takakura. You sighed, fidgeting in place. It wasn’t out of the ordinary for him to be late, he always found a way to get into some unfortunate situation, but you had really been hoping that this time that wouldn’t happen. Your face scrunched up, caught up in your emotions. It wasn’t that big of a deal, he’d show up any moment now. You just had to be patient.
Your words of self encouragement weren’t working, and before you knew it tears were falling down your cheeks. You sniffled quietly, and tried wiping them away but more tears kept coming and soon you were overcome by your tears and quiet cries.
“Miss Y/n! I’m so sorry I’m late. There was this thing with Miss Ayase and Miss Shiratori and—“ Ken spoke frantically, but he stopped before he could actually explain.
Now that Ken was closer he could get a good look at you. He saw the tears streaming down your cheeks, and he could hear your sobs and cries now that he was closer too. His eyes widened and in less than a moment Ken’s turbo form overtook him.
“Who hurt you.”
He was so serious like this. You had gotten use to Ken when he was like this after all your time together, but it always managed to shock you at just how different his personality was when he was like this.
You laughed through your tears. It was a pitiful sound really. The question did cat h you off guard. You hadn’t really thought through what Ken would think when he found you crying waiting for him, and you definitely didn’t consider he would think someone did something to you.
Despite your crying being momentarily interrupted, even Ken wasn’t able to stop it fully now. So instead of answering, you stepped in to hug him.
Ken stood there for a moment, maybe unsure of how to act or what to do. Or just thinking about how to approach this situation. But after a second, he wrapped his arms around you and let his turbo form fall.
He let you bury your head in his shoulder, and cry your heart out. He held you close, and rubbed your back and head soothingly. Only ever saying small “it’s okay” ‘s as you needed them. He let you cry as much as you needed and he was prepared to stay there for as long as you needed too. But eventually you wound down, and before he could come up with what to say, you spoke.
“Can we go home?” You said quietly.
“Of course!” He said, almost too eagerly.
It wasn’t that he was upset you had stayed standing there for so long, just that he wanted to do whatever you wanted. He wanted to make you happy, so anything you needed he was eager to do.
Before either of you started to make your way home, Ken moved in front of you and bent down.
“Here, get on.”
You laughed at the offer but didn’t protest. If Ken wanted to carry you back you weren’t going to say no. So with as little struggle as either of you could manage, you climbed onto Ken’s back. Wrapping your arms securely around his shoulders, but making sure not to choke him.
“Thank you, Ken…”
He didn’t respond to your thanks, but you felt him tense under you and that was all you needed to know he heard you. Without anymore talking, or anymore tears Ken set off in the direction of your home.
It was a rough week but that didn’t mean tomorrow had to be bad, and with Ken around maybe it could even be good.

Sorry literally no one cares abt bebop at all but speak like a child makes me feel so much for the bebop crew (and ofc Faye in particular) but more like the group’s behavior toward her like that scene of spike ruining the vhs player is so like. He sees young Faye on the screen and realizes that’s a personal thing and this random dude who works at the electronics shop doesn’t need to see that and then AFTER jet and spike realize it’s a video of Faye they go through all that shit just to get a vhs player to watch the video at the bebop and even though they tell her she can’t watch it unless she pays the fee for it being delivered she leaves and watches from behind them (like they wouldn’t know she was there)
#idk their group just makes me like#they’re just thrown together and they shouldn’t care about each other but they do#and they can say it all they want they can say they wouldn’t miss each other if they left but they still go looking for each other#or they eat a hundred eggs in one sitting so they don’t have to face their feelings#it’s a family only u didn’t know what it started becoming a family all u know is you’d do anything for them now even though u won’t admit it#and that’s why it hurts so much when spike leaves#because they all know he won’t come back#and even he knows and that in itself is a betrayal bc why don’t u want to live for us#anyways sorry Omg literally no one even cares#and everyone has said everything there is to be said about this show I just will never be normal about it sorry#ghost thoughts#sorry I shouldn’t say no one cares I know people care I just feel silly sometimes analyzing a show that 25 years old like girl we get it
