Quackity: These past days I've been in many calls, and I'm not done yet. I've spoken to a lot of people and creators. I've read your comments and I'm well aware of what needs to be done to carry out this project. I want to tell you all, beforehand, that for me the team's well-being is fundamental. I'm very involved in this topic to sort it out and I want to make that very clear. I want to tell you something... I want to tell you all that the administrative staff responsible for so much harm to the project has been fired. Specifically, those who made decisions without my permission, affecting the administrative and financial area of the project. Consequently, after this, I was in charge of doing a financial analysis that's carrying out for the QSMP.
Guys, to be really honest, it was not going to last. Therefore, I've had to make deep drastic structural changes that have lead me to reduce the performance of the server down to the most essential, and this is in order to ensure the well being of everyone involved in it. Having said this, I want to give a very important update: I want to let you all know that the QSMP will have to slow down temporarily. This is to ensure this new structure adapts to the project, because it's a restructuring that's taking place. I'm letting you know, and I reiterate, there are no voluntary positions inside the QSMP.
At the moment, there will not be any more individual update accounts of all 5 existing languages in the project. In any case, during this transition, there's going to be a temporal absence of all Eggs and NPCs. I know these are difficult changes, and I repeat, it's temporary until we adjust to these new conditions that will improve the performance of this new structure that's being made from scratch, both in the administrative and financial part. I'd like to reintegrate people fro the QSMP as time goes by if a financial viability can be found for the project Taking advantage of this update to tell you guys that within the changes of the server as it is, creators will have full control of their lore and stories. The team will not intervene in the way that it was being done. Moreover, efforts will be made to change the competitive dynamics inside the game so as to ease up the game style for the creators. Like I'm saying, all of these changes, and more, are being carrying out to have the project as best as possible, and they're being done little by little. This is a whole new structure that will ensure the best continuity and experience for the creators, the community and the team behind.
Guys, I want to make very clear that this is restructuring process, and again, it's not a fast one. The server being open does not mean everything's perfect, I understand that very well. Conversations will keep taking place, communication will continue and the constant improvement of the project as well. I ask, please, for everyone's patience and understanding regarding all changes. Please do wait for official announcements since a lot of incomplete and incorrect information is being spread. I want to tell you all something- if you don't trust in these changes or have many doubts about it, and don't want to consume any more of the project's content, I understand 100%. I have a personal commitment with the QSMP and I will work until it functions in the way it is supposed to do.
Lastly, I want to let you know that it was being worked on for months on finalizing the integration of Korean creators to the QSMP. For that reason, tomorrow we will be welcoming the new Korean creators of the QSMP, of course, taking into account all the changes I've just mentioned. I hope you can give the new Korean members warm welcome to the project. And as you know, their schedules are earlier. For everyone who would like to watch, they will be joining at 11am Mexico time and at 9am US time. Basically, I wanted to give that update regarding everything that's being done within the project. Again, thank you for your patience and understanding- these are necessary changes and I'm glad they're being done now. And many more things will keep being adjusted.

It’s only Kara’s third week on the job at CatCo. It’s a definite upgrade from her job writing articles for the Midvale Messenger, but the transition from small town to big city living has needed a little learning curve. She’s barely gotten used to her schedule, let alone the bus route to and from her apartment when a really big assignment falls on her lap that changes her entire life.
She looks up, pushing her glasses back on her face when she finds Snapper’s scowling face in front of her.
“Come with me.”
She furrows her brows, yet before she has time to ask him anything, he’s already walking away. She scrambles to her feet and rushes after her boss paying little attention to the stares coming from those around the office. She eventually gets her answer when they end up in his office.
“Sir, what—”
“Can you explain to me why Lena Luthor requested you specifically to write about the launch of their new tech project?”
Kara’s head remains empty as she quickly rifles through her mind for some flash of recognition to that name. She doesn’t know a Lena Luthor nor does she even cover the tech beat.
“Snapper, sir, this might be a misunderstanding. I don’t know who that is.”
He glares at her just as he places one hand on his hip while the other rests on his desk. “Well, you better figure out who she is quickly. You have an interview with her on Thursday at 10am. Do not be late. And make that article worth my while, you understand?”
“Me?” she asks, her head slow to catch up to his words.
“I’m going to pretend you didn’t ask me that. Now, get out of my office.”
Wordlessly, and still a little shell-shocked, Kara quickly exits out of his office and makes his way back to her desk.
“What was that about?” William, one of her coworkers, asks her as peers over his monitor.
She shakes her head. “I have no freakin’ clue.”

Armed with a memo pad and her trusty BIC ballpoint pen, she enters the L-Corp building in downtown National City. She’s on her second cup of coffee this morning, having stayed up late the last two nights doing her homework, researching about L-Corp, the upcoming project launch that the company has largely kept under wraps, and the head of Research and Design: Lena Luthor.
She has no idea what this woman’s game is about, but she won’t turn down the opportunity as it presents itself.
Wiping her sweaty hands on the back of her chinos, she reaches the 46th floor and talks with Lena’s assistant about ten minutes before her appointment.
“Miss Luthor will be with you shortly.”
“Thanks.”
She waits patiently in the small waiting area, her knee bouncing slightly. She crosses her legs at the knee and resituates herself to stop the bounce. She glances at the clock on the wall and finds that Lena Luthor is now five minutes late.
She considers walking up to the assistant who seems very intently typing away at her keyboard, but thinks better of it. She waits it out, gives it another five minutes. She reviews her questions from her pad and double checks that her recorder is fully charged. The ticking from the clock and the consistent typing sounds fill the otherwise empty waiting area.
She watches on as the assistant takes a call before looking over at her from across the way.
“Miss Luthor apologies for her tardiness, but if you could wait another five minutes, she’ll be on her way up.”
She nods and sits back slightly in her chair. The clock ticks on.
While waiting, Kara briefly wonders if this is some type of test, a ploy to check on her. Her imagination lands her to think that this might be some kind of hazing from her colleagues. That didn’t make sense, however, not when this assistant seems like the kind of woman who wouldn’t participate in a prank if it affected her productivity.
After almost twenty minutes, Kara audibly sighs, tries to rein in her annoyance, before getting up from her seat and decides that perhaps it’s best to reschedule. Just as she’s about to talk with the assistant, the elevator dings open and a woman in a lab coat wearing large dark-rimmed glasses with her hair pulled back in a high ponytail rushes towards them.
“You must be Kara Danvers,” the woman says, her voice coming out composed despite the exhale she lets out, no doubt from rushing out.
“I—yes,” she offers, a little stupefied in her spot, glancing down at the offered hand before slowly taking it in her own.
“Lena Luthor. My deepest apologies for being so late; I was on my way up when a small emergency that couldn’t be ignored exploded…literally.”
“Is everyone okay?”
“Everyone is more than fine, thank you. Now, I’m sure you’re also a busy woman, so if we need to reschedule, then I understand. But if you have some time to spare, I can clear part of my schedule so you can ask all of your questions.”
She blinks a few times to process Lena’s words, a reckoning force in front of her that Kara wouldn’t deny, even if she could. She beams and steps to the side. “Deal.”

True to her word, Lena Luthor answers all of her questions about the new project called Biomax, a nanotechnology meant to advance and expedite healing for various open wounds and injuries. She thoughtfully takes notes of Lena’s responses knowing that the recording will help jog her memories if necessary.
“Do you have any more questions?”
Kara glances down to the last question that she has underlined twice: why me?
She hesitates, an uneasy smile on her face. “Yeah, actually.”
“Go ahead.”
“Why did you pick me to interview you? As far as I know, we’ve never met—I’d remember you, for the record—so…just…why?”
Lena holds her gaze, her head tipping to the side as she regards Kara. She almost looks away under the attention, but maintains her composure.
“I’m honestly surprised you didn’t ask me right away.”
She shrugs.
“This project is very important to L-Corp and could greatly affect public perceptions of the company.”
“I won’t write a puff piece if that’s what you’re asking,” she declares, sitting up. Yet Lena matches her and places a hand up, as if to stop her.
“On the contrary. I need you to do what you do best.”
“Excuse me?”
Lena tents her hands in front of her and smirks. “Your established work in the Midvale Messenger shows level-headedness and thoughtful critiques. You’ve shown fair assessment and reporting, as far as I’m aware.”
“Oh.”
“This is a good project, Miss Danvers. I believe it can do a lot of good for a lot of people. But prior to the rebranding, L-Corp has been host to many scandals, as I’m sure your research has shown you. All I ask is that the project is reported on on its own merits and critiqued fairly for what it is and not who owns the building that developed it.”
“You researched me?”
“As I’m sure you researched me.”
“Fair enough.” She nods in understanding. Then, “Don’t worry. I’ll do my job.”
Lena smiles wide and Kara can’t help but glance down at red lips and white teeth.
“That’s all I ask.”
Lena’s phone rings, signaling that she needs to get ready for an upcoming meeting. They both stand on either side of Lena’s desk before Lena walks around and stands practically toe to toe with her.
“Thank you for your time, Miss Luthor—”
“Lena, please.”
“Lena, then. Thank you.”
“You’re welcome, Miss Danvers.”
“Well, if I’m calling you Lena…”
“Kara it is. Feel free to call back if you need anything else for your article.”
It’s only as they take the few measured steps between the desk and the office door that Kara notes the warm and cozy tones of Lena’s perfume just as she catches the side to side swish of her long ponytail from the corner of her eye.
She turns around again and offers a hand, this time Lena grabbing hold of it with ease and shaking it a few times.
“I hope this isn’t the last time we talk.”
“I hope not either.”
It’s not until Jess opens the door in front of them that they let go of each other’s hands.

Her article goes to print, and she’s happy to see her name on the byline. So soon after starting her job, too.
When she walks into the office the morning her article goes live, she’s met with all eyes from everyone staring at her as soon as she steps out of the elevator. She offers them uneasy smiles as she treks to her desk only to find it teeming with flowers.
“What’s this?” she asks as she tries to move the different bouquets out of her seat and away from her monitor and keyboard. She glances at William next desk over and he only shrugs.
“Secret admirer?”
She plucks the lone card from one of the bouquets and flips it over, grinning from ear to ear.

The paper bag crinkles in her grip as she adjusts the shoulder strap of her messenger bag. The elevator dings and she appears back on the 46th floor of the L-Corp building.
She walks towards the assistant who doesn’t seem surprised to see her.
“Hi, uh—” she quickly glances at the name on the desk, “—hi, Jess. I was here last time. I know I don’t have an appointment, but do you think Len–Miss Luthor has a small break coming up or anything like that?” She knocks her glasses back up her nose with her knuckle.
Jess studies her for a moment before glancing back down to the monitor. “She’s free for the next fifteen minutes.”
She nods quickly and smiles, appreciative of the granted access.
Kara knocks and waits until she hears a muffled response for her to enter. She peeks through the door before slowly making her way in.
“Hi, Lena. Sorry to drop in unannounced…”
“Kara, hello. This is a lovely surprise.”
She hums. “Well, I was in the neighborhood.”
“Is that so?”
“Mm. It turns out, it’s hard to get work done when your desk is overflowing with flowers.”
“Really? Never would have guessed.”
“No? Somehow I’m surprised,” she asks with a slight giggle. “You didn’t have to do that.”
“Yeah, I did.” Lena nods, her face sobering slightly, even with the smile still on her face.
Kara brings a hand up and fixes her glasses again. “Well, I’m not sure I can compete with dozens and dozens of flowers. But perhaps I can offer you with a couple deep fried sugary goodness in exchange. You do eat donuts, right?”
Lena stands from the side of her desk and walks to accept the bag from Kara’s hands. “Well, I am human. Thank you, Kara. Won’t you join me? Probably for the best I don’t eat it all.”
“Only if you’re sure.”
Lena sits on the white couch at the far end of her office. “I’m very sure.”
Kara takes a spot on the couch, the bag of donuts sitting between them. The fifteen minutes of break that Jess originally mentioned becomes half an hour then an hour until it’s just about time to leave for the day, the minutes and hours filled with conversation about nothing, everything.
“Oh my gosh, I’m sorry, Lena,” she starts as they both rise to their feet. “I didn’t mean to keep you.”
“Nonsense.”
“I should probably get going, though. A few bites of donuts isn’t enough sustenance.”
“Well, if you’re not tired of me yet, I was just about to grab some dinner. You're welcome join me.”
"I couldn't impose."
"I insist."
Kara glances down at the way Lena’s hands fiddled with each other. Then she thinks briefly about the empty apartment that awaits her and the leftovers sitting in her fridge.
“Well, then, I’d love that.”

Days of friendship blossomed into weeks, Kara and Lena trading texts and video calls interspersed with dinners and coffees after long work days.
The excitement of friendship with Lena lit something deep inside of Kara that she didn’t know ever existed. Simply put, being around Lena was a source of comfort while she settled herself in National City.
“You’re not the only one who’s new around here,” Lena had said to her during one of their coffee outings, sympathizing with Kara’s adjustment after her recent arrival to the city. “It’s nice for me, too, to have someone—a friend—to spend time with. My therapist thinks so, anyway.”
Kara then reached forward and placed a hand on Lena’s. “Tell your therapist you’re not alone, Lena. You’ve got me.”
Lena smiled before reaching over and giving her a hug. Kara easily accepted, held Lena close to her, and made sure to never break her vow.

It’s been a handful of months since Lena and Kara became friends, best friends even, and being allowed unrestricted access to Lena’s office for Kara to stop by still rattles something inside of her. It’s…she can’t quite put a finger on it. A kind of intimacy she enjoys: to be chosen, to be privileged in this way.
She greets Jess with a grin and a separate bag for Jess’s favored almond croissants as Kara carries her and Lena’s lunch from Noonan’s.
“How’s it looking today, Jess?” she asks just as puts the bag for Jess on her desk. The assistant grabs for the bag, an uncharacteristic voraciousness as she opens it and takes a whiff of the pastry. “That bad, huh?”
“She’ll enjoy seeing you today, let’s just say.”
“Alright. Does she have a hard stop?”
“She has a conference call at 3. But otherwise, keep her from her computer until then.”
“Got it.”
Just then, Lena pulls the door open. “Stop plotting against me.”
Kara beams and walks forward with a one-armed hug as she holds the bag of their lunch away from their bodies. She warms at Lena’s touch, both of her arms wrapping around Kara’s back before it gently slides down the length of her back before her hands rest briefly on Kara’s waist.
“I’ll plot against you any way I like. I’m my own woman.”
“Yes, you are. It’s good to see you, darling. But we don’t have an appointment, do we?”
“No, no. I just figured I’d drop off some lunch for you. Heard you’ve had a brutal morning.”
Lena then glances at Jess who has remained steadfast in staring at her screen. “Is that right?”
“Yes. Now we can stand here or we can actually eat some lunch. I don’t know about you, but I’m starving.”
Lena steps back and allows her to walk past her, making a beeline for the coffee table in front of her white couch. She quickly takes out their food from the bag and situates it neatly in front of them, a nice little spread of salads and breads and pasta dishes.
“Did you buy all of Noonan’s?” Lena asks when she sits beside Kara on the couch. “I can’t possibly eat all of this food, Kara.”
“Uh, because they’re not for you,” she says, offering a playful scoff. “That’s your kale salad and all the good stuff is mine.”
She grins when she catches Lena rolling her eyes at her who otherwise grabs a plastic fork and takes a healthy bite out of her salad. Kara hates the stuff, thinks it’s an abomination, but she’s happy to see her friend eating and relaxing.
Kara etches this moment to memory. Because she likes how settled Lena is beside her as they dig into their lunch. Likes how visibly comfortable Lena looks as she asks Kara about her day so far. Likes how she nudges some other dishes Lena’s way until Lena relents, still gracious as she does so, picking at some of the food. It’s one of Kara’s favorite views, the way Lena leaves herself unguarded, her walls down, with her.
Abruptly and without notice, something inside of Kara shifts—irreparably, irrevocably.
She doesn’t know what she’s even said for Lena to snort in laughter, putting her food down on the coffee table to cover her mouth as giggles leak through her fingers.
Something inside of Kara slots into place, the world suddenly saturated and sharpened.
When Lena gets a handle on her laughter, her mouth still etched with the echoes of her mirth, she opens her eyes to fondly look back at Kara, grasping at her arm and squeezing.
Kara doesn’t hear anything but the pulse of her blood rushing to her ears, and the heat of Lena’s hand on her skin suddenly scorching her.
And Kara, hopeless and unprepared, discovers on a Tuesday afternoon that she’s maybe a little bit in love with her best friend.

You know, as a dedicated Jessa stan I wanna say that it's okay~ Because these two were together for 50 years or sth, there's still some things to add. We might watch them in their 30s, 50s, 60s. I guess at this point both camps have around the same amount of content. Plus I'll have Jessa in twp so I'm in peace 🌱

All my first thoughts are over here. I'm a Clace defender, I'm their oldest stan, I'm a veteran👩🦳 So I feel like I have a right to say that...it was kinda unnecessary. We've witnessed every step in their relationship so far, beginning of it in TMI, gentle transition to adulthood in TDA and Tales of Shadowhunter Academy, adulthood in SOBH and proposal. So if the story isn't about their wedding then WHAT THE HELL IS IT ABOUT REALLY? And we know that they won't get married until twp.

Hey🥺that is nice, we've seen so little of them in chain of thorns and I've loved them since their debut in 2018 in that short story. I'm very biased when it comes to TLH, cause I'm their mother. So YAY🌱they have a long way to go, Anna still needs to change a tiny little bit for them to be healthy, so I'd love to witness it

Lots of people defend it by saying that it might be important for Ash's background in TWP. But... No it's not. Because this is exclusive book made for few people who were lucky and financially stable enough to get it. It won't be posted online. So most people won't read it unless someone leaks it. So there's no point for that story to be important for the plot, therefore it has nothing to do with it.
And it's definitely not "one of the most beloved" couples. BUT LIKE... WHAT IF IT SLAYS? Toxic, unhinged romance, what if I'll love it? 🤡

So you see the problem? Because it's the same as Clace. What else might she add, because there's nothing. SoBH ended like yesterday. We know exactly where they live rn, their daily routine, their plans. So there's nothing to add between SOBH and twp. What will it be about? Hard to say, but I hope Cassie will come up with sth interesting for them.

Even though we've had lots of them in TMI and Shadowhunters Academy I still think they deserve to be here. They are famous (I guess? 👁👁) and I'd like to know more about their plans for future. Simon was still a teenager in the stories collection and now I'd love to see him as a grown man being in relationship with the woman he loves.

Well... That was... Unexpected. I guess... I've just never met their fandom but I hope it's huge af, because I don't know why else would they be here. Sophideon, Gabrily and Charlotte with Henry were supposed to be here, let's be honest. But since they're here, I do think Cassie is able to make a decent story. I expect it to be bittersweet, angsty and somehow heartwarming. I think there's nothing to say except let's wait and find out.
OVERALL I think it's pretty fine. Maximum 7/10 from me. I was ready to face the worst, but it turned out to be... Fine. So it's fine☺🌱

if i can ask, whats your opinion on the roy siblings’ relationship to sex?? i feel like it’s interesting that their relationship to sex is such an integral part of each of their characters (romans entire thing, shivs issues with monogamy, connor and willa, etc) and im wondering why they set it up that way. out of them all, is there any u think has the healthiest relationship with sex? (im tempted to say kendall lol because his issues with sex seem more garden-variety ie. using sex to fill an emotional void for love and attention and power etc but idk. i feel like there’s more there)
the kids' sex issues accomplish a few different things. one is that, in general, the show leans heavily on the characters' fear of the body as an alien, uncontrollable site of potential humiliation. no matter how wealthy and powerful they are, they can't stop logan from aging and dying; they piss or shit or trip on the stairs; and they therefore have trouble relating to sex in an uncomplicated way. the sex issues telegraph an overall discomfort with their bodies and an alienation from themselves.
more specifically, the way each sibling relates to sex is a direct function of their assigned role in logan's system of gender and corporate hierarchy, and indicates the ways in which they struggle with those positions. roman has always been seen as weak, effeminate, and therefore disgusting; he doesn't identify with the dominant, normatively masculine role, and doesn't want to fuck anyone, in business or literally. his most fulfilling sexual encounters on the show have been gerri echoing the way his father talks to him, and roman getting off on the objectification. shiv instinctively identifies with the dominant role, and has some of the killer instinct for it, but has been excluded from it by her father's view of her as a kind of permanent adolescent girl, kept sexually pure and disembodied; she has difficulty transitioning to the role of wife or mother, as she sees getting fucked physically as equivalent to getting fucked metaphorically, and considers both humiliating and beneath her. her open marriage arrangement would in some ways be quite normative were she a cis man, but instead, it's seen as a violation of her gender role. connor was at one point the heir by default, but is now considered biologically extraneous; his politico-sexual ideology encourages the 'productive' use of sperm, namely through reproduction, yet connor is childless and only recently in a committed relationship. his relationship is transactional—like all relationships on the show—but it bothers him on some level, and multiple times he has tried to convert this into a more romantic language that he wants willa to speak. kendall has been placed in their heir role, which demands exercise of a specific form of masculinity that includes being the one who literally and physically fucks his partners / subordinates, but he speaks this language awkwardly and unsuccessfully in business, and although he can fuck and enjoy fucking, he views his own sex life through logan's eyes and sends away both naomi and jennifer when logan disapproves of them. he also relates to his body primarily as a tool meant to accomplish a task, rather than an object of desire: an obvious point of comparison is his confusion when naomi asks for a dick pic, in contrast to roman actively wanting to frame his own body as an object for consumption that he then sends to gerri.
broadly speaking, their difficulty adhering to logan's definitions of sexual normality are indicative of the violence inherent in those definitions. his disgust at roman's sexuality, disdain of connor's relationship, sense of ownership over roman's and kendall's sexual expressions, and persistent denial of shiv's body and sexuality are all part of the same system, and affect how the kids see themselves and their own sexualities. also, because sex and politics and business all operate within the same discursive field, it would sort of be impossible for any of them to have simple pleasurable experiences of sex as long as they're still trying to exist in waystar or indeed in the broader capitalist structure it encapsulates. for them, there simply is no differentiating their own sex lives from structures of interpersonal violence and economic exploitation.
i don't think the show is trying to argue that any of these is a 'healthier' relationship to sex than any of the others. in general i would challenge that framework (like, healthier for whom? healthier defined by whom? &c) and i also just think the siblings each have distinct shit going on, and it's not generally possible to 'rank' them on any kind of scale of severity; they're just different. additionally, i think all of the siblings' sexual behaviours are a mix of things that are benign on their own, and only appear pathological in relation to the demands logan makes of them, and then things that are more inherently painful for them, regardless of their father. & of course, sometimes those lines blur or shift.

As always you bring such fun topics to talk about 🖤
So I absolutely believe Gin cannot handle his alcohol, for a few reasons!
The first being, he never got the typical childhood. He went to the academy as a young boy, and excelled through it quickly. He never had any of those teenage parties where they experimented with alcohol and their limits. He didn’t go through school with peers his own age, therefore didn’t have any “friends” his age to go through those experiences with when he reached that age. He never grew a tolerance for it, and never learned his limits.
The people he spent the most time with while transitioning to a child to an adult would’ve been Aizen and Tousen. Both of which aren’t big drinkers themselves. Aizen would maybe indulge in an expensive glass of wine with dinner every so often, but that is all. Tousen I can’t see Finding any enjoyment in drinking, and chooses to abstain.
I would also like to factor in Gin’s physique. He’s so skinny, I’m convinced he hasn’t seen a good hot meal for quite some time. And we all Know the downfall of drinking on an empty stomach 🙃
The biggest and most important factor, is Gin had chosen from an early age that he would be the one to bring Aizen down, working as a secret double agent to ensure Aizen fails in his quest to ascend the heavens. Gin is smart and calculated, he knows full well that “loose lips sinks ships” and would take precautions to ensure Aizen never finds out about his plan to take him down.
He can’t afford to have his inhibitions lowered, must always keep up the facade to ensure he reaches his goals.
However
He was woefully unprepared for how persistent Kyoraku is 😂
We all know just how desperate that man is to have a drinking buddy who can keep up with him. Sure, he has Jushiro who will happily keep him company as he slowly drinks himself to the edge of sanity.. but it can get tiring being the only one drinking while your friend smiles on patiently. Not to mention the times Jushiro is too unwell or simply to busy to join him.
I think he has had a good few drinking partners over the years… Yourichi, Shinji, Isshin. Unfortunately they’ve all left him to drink alone once more. Kenpachi is good in a pinch, the man can hold his liquor ! but trying to get any decent conversation out of him… you’d have better luck trying to get water not to be wet. 😂
I believe Kyoraku would corner Gin one day, and before he knew what was happening he was sat opposite the two older captains wondering how the hell this happened. Without thinking of any believable reason why he had to go, Gin would try and wait Kyoraku out. The man had a reputation. Surly he’d be slumped over falling asleep soon, where he could easily leave him to the practiced hands of Jushiro, who had more patience than any one man should.
He failed to recognise two things. The first being, Kyoraku can drink an obscure amount of alcohol before he got into that state. The second being Gins near non existent tolerance would be no match for the high percentage alcohol Kyoraku favoured.
The first drink went down fine, a little fuzzy around the edges, but manageable. He could still walk home perfectly capable of hiding his true intentions. He could engage in conversation while keeping all of his secrets deeply guarded.
The second was a little more worrisome. His real laugh came out unexpectedly at one of Kyorakus filthy jokes. Muscles relaxed and the room suddenly feeling a little bit warm. But he was fine, right? A little tipsy, but still in somewhat control of his actions. The room tilted if he moved to fast and he couldn’t quite get the smile off his face
It’s the third that tips him over. His normally pale complexion is flushed red, one eye is tightly closed while the other tries to focus hard enough to stop the world from spinning around him. His words are slurred and heavy, sounding fine to his own ears yet almost indistinguishable to everyone else. When the hiccups start, so did the giggling.
Kyoraku and Ukitake would share a disbelieving look at the absolute state this man had gotten in after only three drinks… even Ukitake could handle more than that..
Kyoraku would pout at the disappointing loss of yet another drinking buddy prospect. Though he did quite enjoy watching Gin sway and stumble his way into nearly every wall, tree and person they passed on the way to his home as Ukitake frantically tried to steer him in the right way.

I'm toying with this idea of mainline Pokémon games as paradigm shifts, or each generation being a direct philosophical response to the generation that came before it, and here are my preliminary thoughts
Eventually I would like to be able to revisit the source material of each game and cite text to support my views/tighten and edit my views if the text contradicts them
Kanto: themes of science, sci-fi, emphasis on genetic manipulation. (Obviously every Pokémon game is concerned with both science and nature, but Mewtwo being Thee legendary puts emphasis on Kanto's association with taboo scientific progression, cloning, and gene splicing).
Johto: Shifts the paradigm from the scientific realm to the spiritual. While Kanto is future-forward and clinical, Johto feels more traditionally Japanese, with emphasis on the spiritual world, traditions, and rituals.
Team Rocket is concerned with money and power, which is somewhat thematically disconnected from Mewtwo as a thematic figurehead, though not inherently contradictory. Mewtwo and the red Gyarados represent Team Rocket's willingness to harness whatever they can to achieve their goals, even if it contradicts the laws of nature.
The music further reflects this. Go Ichinose's remixes of Junichi Masuda's iconic tracks communicate almost subconsciously communicate that the paradigm has shifted.
Hoenn: Shifts the paradigm from the spiritual world to the natural world. If Kanto is lab science, Hoenn is field science. The themes of Hoenn are heavily focused on impacting the real world around you— climatology, geology, oceanography. Hoenn is also concerned with space as a biome.
Teams Magma and Aqua focus on tangibly altering the real world around them. While Giovanni's motivation is selfishness, Archie and Maxie genuinely believe they are fighting to make the world a better place.
Sinnoh: Shifts the paradigm from the tangible world to the world of abstracts. We transition out of concepts you can touch and hold to concepts that are... well, conceptual. Creation, destruction, time, space, willpower, knowledge, emotion, spirit.
Cyrus' goals are both selfish and altruistic. His own pain is inherently tied to his perception of the human condition: emotions are painful, therefore, they should be eliminated. Team Galactic also takes on scientific façade, pretending to be studying the energy of Pokémon evolution. Its commanders are named after planets. This symbolizes Cyrus' positioning as a paragon of logic and detached, purely scientific thought.
Unova:
**Disclaimer: I'm only halfway through White atm, so this section is even MORE incomplete and lacking in information. Please don't spoil the BW/BW2 for me**
Shifts the paradigm from logos to pathos. While Cyrus leverages (faulty) logic (A: Emotions cause pain. B: Pain is bad. Therefore, emotions are bad), Ghetsis uses appeals to emotion to manipulate those around him.
Even the structure of the teams reflects their change in themes: Charon and Cyrus are scientists and rely on logic as their source of legitimacy; Ghetsis employs sages* and relies on emotional appeals as his source of legitimacy.
*From Wikipedia: "The term has also been used interchangeably with a 'good person ... and a 'virtuous person'."
Unova's themes shift from emotion as the enemy to emotion as the tool, which strengthens one's conviction in their ideals.
(N outright states the theme of these games: truth and ideals).
Further analysis coming once I finish White and Black 2 :)
Kalos:
**This is going to be an ugly transition for now (sorry, Lysandre)**
The Kalos games are concerned with beauty, specifically natural beauty, and the cycle of preservation and destruction (the cycle of life and death)
Lysandre's goal is to manipulate the cycle of life and death for his own benefit, without concern for the logic or ethics of such a decision. Unlike Ghetsis and N, Lysandre barely even pays lip service to the idea of altruism; his goals are purely selfish.
Sycamore's self-delusion about Lysandre's character further strengthens this theme. The paradigm brought forth in X and Y is one both tangible and intangible.
XY also function as responses to BW/BW2 in their simplicity and familiarity. BW/2 served as a soft reboot of the series, launching returning players into a world of total unfamiliarity. In response, XY contain gratuitous Kanto references (Snorlax blocking the path, Megas focused on the origiganl 150), to the point of copying the layout and music of Viridian Forest.
Alola: Shifts the paradigm from beauty to... well, paradigms. Inheritance, change, transitions, and succession. Team Skull is made up of those who were failed by Alola's traditions (that is, children who failed the Island Challenge and were made to believe that they were inferior and had no future as Trainers). Tying into this theme, multiple families are brought into the spotlight: Hau and Hala; Lusamine, Gladion, and Lily.
But the question is, how does Alola function as a response to Kalos? In what significant way do the games contrast? Well, they kinda... don't. I would argue that SuMo/USUM function as pseudo-sequels to XY, and respond in that way, much like GSC are sequels to RBY. The continuation of the Zygarde plot is the strongest indicator of this, though Alola shares a few superficial themes with Kalos: namely, the preservation of natural beauty. Lusamine's obsession with love and possession parallels Lysandre's obsession with beauty and control. Lusamine, too, often cites beauty as the progenitor of love.
In responding to XY, the plot of U/SM also builds upon the story there, showing a natural progression of themes. Lysandre could not be saved; Sycamore loved a false image of him and was not willing to face the ugly truth to do what it took to save him; Gladion and Lillie were courageous enough to call Lusamine out, setting her on the path to redemption.
In this manner, U/SM develops the themes set forth in XY and lays them to rest.
Galar:
**Okay I also haven't finished Shield**
Galar is also concerned with succession, albeit in the opposite direction as Alola. Alola was all about examining how traditions and previous generations have failed the youth (children being treated as worthless for failing the Island Challenge; Lusamine abusing her children and Mohn abandoning them [albeit unwittingly]; Sophocles being forced to take on a position he clearly isn't ready for because Molayne aged out of it). Galar instead features adults trying to prepare the next generation for the future (and prepare the future for the next generation). Leon gets Hop and the PC started on their journey as Pokémon Trainers and encourages them throughout the story; Piers starts Team Yell to cheer on Marnie; Opal mentors Bede and prepares him to take over her Gym; Professor Magnolia mentors Sonia who in turn mentors Hop. Even Rose's decision to unleash Eternatus was done out of a desire to protect the future of Galar.
Paldea: Shifts the paradigm to focus on self-sufficiency vs community, knowing when to ask for help and who to ask for help, isolation and connection, mostly from a child's perspective.
While Galar is all about adults supporting children, adults in Paldea are hands-off to an almost comical degree, to the point where the main antagonist is one of the MC's parents. Clavell is ineffectual as a Director until he approaches Team Star from a child's point of view. Geeta doesn't even function as the strongest Trainer in the main game, instead playing second fiddle to Nemona. Teachers regularly confide in their students and ask them for favors as though they are equals. In SV, children are extremely self-sufficient, often relying on each other instead of the adults around them for support: Team Star turn to each other for safety; Arven asks the PC for help gathering Herba Mystica. Even the main co flirt must be settled by students: the PC, Arven, Nemona, and Penny.
Arguably the most important (or at least the most approachable) side story in SV also hammers home the theme of self sufficiency falling defeat to community: In Art 4, Brassius, as a guest speaker, tells the story of how Hassel's mentorship saved him from his own self-destructive tendencies. In learning to accept help from others, Brassius became the most fully-realized version of himself.

So um. I have to draw a better version of this since this was made on Mspaint. But it gives u a good idea of Hicothea.

The enlightened is an east-facing faction ruled by Solis Arevik. It borders The shadowed through their co-owned lands: The eclipsed. The pearlescent occupy their coasts through an alliance between The drowned and The enlightened. The enlightened is generally the most land-based faction, along with it being the largest in regards to landmass.
↳ The factions within the Enlightened territory are of a warmer, varying between a dry climate in the mid-regions of the territory and a tropical climate along the southern coast of the territory. The eastern and northern coasts are occupied by the Drowned and the Pearlescent, respectively, with one north-eastern protruding peninsula between the two territories, accompanied by a single island. The Enlightened is riddled with deserts, oases, jungles, and beaches.
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘴𝘦𝘥. ───────── ⊰。゚.*
The eclipsed is a faction nestled between The shadowed and The enlightened. The people of the eclipsed were brought together due to an alliance between Lune Speculiy and Solis Arevik in order to prevent border arguments. The people are ruled by both and have the essence of both Lune and Solis. The eclipsed briefly border The drowned at the southern part of the entire faction, and slightly on the upper north.
↳ Being nestled between the Enlightened and the Shadowed, the Eclipsed encompasses a wide variety of climates. Along the Eastern border, it is mainly a dry climate, before transitioning into a temperate climate in the heart of the territory. On the western side of the territory, it is much colder, adopting the Shadowed's cool summer continental climate. The southern coast is occupied by the Drowned, along with a fraction of the northern coast.
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘥. ───────── ⊰。゚.*
The shadowed is a west-facing faction ruled by Lune Speculiy. It is briefly occupied by The pearlescent and shares the lands of The eclipsed. The shadowed are very coast-heavy and many of the borders are set due to natural restrictions: 𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘔𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘪é𝘴, or 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘥 𝘔𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴; part of the large mountain-system 𝘝𝘪𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘰î𝘵.
↳ The factions belonging to the general area of the Shadowed are colder and fresher with a cool summer continental climate. The upper north of the faction is hugged tightly by the mountain-system 𝘝𝘪𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘰î𝘵; and all mountains are referred to as 𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘔𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘪é𝘴, or 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘥 𝘔𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴. The upper north is the coldest area of the territory, whereas the Eclipsed and lower southeast are the warmest. The mid-point of the territory is an average continental temperature, riddled with pine forests and cave-systems. Most of the population is focused on the middle and lower south of the area.

The pearlescent factions are scattered over the lands as extensions of The drowned. They are allied lands depending on their locations, and are most often formed through these alliances to allow The enlightened and The shadowed citizens easier access to The Drowned.
↳ Being extensions of the Drowned, the Pearlescent are mainly situated on coastal areas and adopt the climate of the territory on which they are occupying. They are often accompanied by a saline air and warm winds.
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘯𝘦𝘥. ───────── ⊰。゚.*
The drowned is the faction of the ocean, ruled by Opthalina Vudya. It owns the entirety of 𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘔𝘢𝘳é𝘦𝘴 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴, or 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘛𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘴. It has two main land-bases and four co-owned coasts through The pearlescent lands. The ocean may be owned by The drowned (and therefore all underwater beings), however some slivers of seas and partial oceans are allowed co-ownership from the other factions.
↳ Similarly to the Pearlescent, the Drowned's land bases are accompanied by saline air and warm winds. However, their northern-most base is much cooler the closer it is to the Shadowed, where the temperatures are unnaturally cold and almost arctic.

Trying to word this in a way that fully encapsulates how I feel so bear with me... I guess I wanna start with: I don't actually believe in "gendered socialization", both in that I do not believe that all members of a given gender, across cultural, racial/ethnic, religious, economic, etc. lines will have the same social experiences AND in that I do not believe that trans women are completely treated like men nor trans men completely treated like women. However, within the many attempts to utilize psychiatry for transphobia, there is a tendency to rely on the myths of the "female and male brains", which supposedly function completely differently from each other and whose differences nearly outweigh their similarities ("men are from Mars, women are from Venus"). Especially when working in the abstract, talking about some kind of Hypothetical trans person whose psyche Could exist, transphobes (terfs and their ilk especially are fond of this, I find) insist that trans women have "inherently male brains" and that trans men have "inherently female brains." I think that due to psychiatry's history in how it regards purported "males" and purported "females", it's easy to see how "trans gay guys exist because little girls read too much yaoi" is mostly characterized through language of "social contagion" rather than of "psychological fetishism" or whatever. "Women" (or anyone who has a, heavy quotes here, "female brain") are sometimes seen as unable to have fetishes or paraphilias or whatever overall (due to a laundry list of reasons involving the historical perception of women's sexualities). This is a favorite talking point of terfs, who insist that women who participate in kink subcultures cannot Actually be enjoying it sexually, but have been tricked by men (who DO have the fetishes, "paraphilias", etc) into participating for the sole pleasure of their male partners, it's one of many ways in which terf ideology is fundamentally misogynistic. Gay trans men, who are treated as women in the abstract of transphobic psychiatry, therefore, are perceived as being "socialized into" idealizing gay male sexual activity, sometimes even "contaminated" by yaoi or BL or whatever, and that is why they transition. The distinction between "social contagion" and "innate fetishism/delusion/whatever" is a pretty notable distinction between how this kind of transphobia manifests against trans men vs trans women, and I'm not trying to claim one is better or worse than the other, they're both reductive and misogynistic and transphobic in their own ways. Idk I don't think I'm As clear as I hoped I could be but I think u all should understand where I'm at

when someone is deadset on transm*sandry being real i believe they think intersections exist that arent there. transmisogyny is its own term because it is based on the intersectionality of being transgender AND a woman. transgender individuals are punished heavily under the cishetero patriarchy (which is honestly a redundant term imo but u get me) and so are women because its structured around keeping women in a place of submission and humiliation. when someone is persecuting you for being a trans man/trans masc per se they are persecuting you for being....transgender. they do not see you as a man. they do not look at you and see masculinity they see you as a confused girl who has been brainwashed and manipulated into mutilating herself. this is in part another source of fuel for transmisogyny because now not only is a trans woman yknow trangender and a woman, they are also the ones that are considered to blame for "corrupting" the girls who end up not being girls. theres this strong perception of transfems being perverse and misleading the transmasc into abandoning femininity and being the driving force behind anyone wishing to break the rules of society and transition.
and if someone does recognize you as a man then you still arent recieving any like lasting negative persecution because you are at the end of the day benefitting from your status as a man. just like misandry doesnt become real when a black man faces persecution (its becsuse of racism) or a disabled man faces persecution (its because of ableism). there are exceptions to people benefitting from masculinity of course, but usually these are people who still retain a self affirmed connection to femininity or otherwise being a woman who are being punished for not performing as society dictates women should (ex. butches, studs) and therefore are not benefitting from the status of a man because they do not accept that status

out of all the chapters you wrote so far do you have a favourite?
You can pretty much tell which are my favorites based on how much art is in them, but my absolute favorite has got to be is either [33] or [34] because I've been wanting to write those scene since not long after I started posting the fic :3 The flirting, the doming Sinbad, the 'oh' moment finally happening. I have a bunch of favorites for different reasons. They are more groups of chapters since I tend to write 2-3 chapters at a time and have to figure out how to break them up for posting.
My favorite chapters in chronological order:
Chapter [4] & [5] are special because it was writing that version that made me want to start posting. I already posted the Dead End version of ch4, and I'll be doing the same with 5 soon. I'm trying to figure out how I want to handle the art since it's very talk heavy.
Chapter [9] has to be listed because it's the start of the first arc I couldn't shut up about to my family. Writing about my health issues was a big deal for me. It greatly helped me in respecting my own limits and letting myself rest. I over a bit more metical trauma every time I write about Mori being sick.
Chapter [11] is the first chapter I felt the need to turn almost completely into a comic. It was very much about the joy of unmasking around my favorite characters and nerding out X3
Chapter [15] is also a fave for having some of my favorite jokes and references in it, and it's also nerding out. It was really fun all the way through.
Chapter [24] is super special to me because it is the first chapter where the characters changed my plans so far I basically went on hiatus. Sinbad and Ja'far doing that much math was not in the plans and honestly, it's part of why I take so extra long between chapters now. I'm having to pull plot points that weren't supposed to happen until after Sinbad comes back from the Kou Empire.
Chapter [25] is another that I was just so happy with because of the jokes and references. I also used it as an excuse to study Jojo's more in recreating that Rohan scene using Mori UwU
The whole Gender, Jewelry, & Flirting arc [28] [29] [30] is extra special to for it being my coming out chapters. I thought I was going to have to introduce the concept of transness to the world before I found the side comic that showed the okama (Japanese gay and trans stereotype) was more than just antagonists in the canon. So much of chapters 28 & 29 were things I didn't think I'd be able to explore for several more years. I did get a ton of hate comments on AO3 for saying the trans women are women and therefore Sinbad would be attracted to them. It's why ch 29 has the added reminder that this is my fic. Don't like don't read. Ch30 is one I reread often because I love how smooth I got the flirting, and it's when I finally got to give Mori Sinbad's choker :D
Since I already explained 33&34, I want to give [36] for being the chapter with the fewest about of drafts and edits. I got it in 1 and then just tweaked the wording. The way everything fell into place was beautiful and convenient. Chapters [35] & [37] were the hardest to write, so 36 being so easy between them was really nice -u- 37 was the hardest so far and took over 30 drafts -the average is 8-12.
Bonus: My Least Favorite part of the whole fic is the transition between [16] [17]. I was way too stubborn about keeping to the character count per ch limit I gave myself, and too stubborn about getting rid of certain moments to accommodate that. I tried to use Ja'far as a plot device to transition the chapters but it was a total flop. If I ever went back and rewrote sections that would be the first, followed by removing all references to my synesthesia. I've been considering doing that for a while, but I'm not sure what to do with the older versions. I don't just want to delete them. Posterity is important to me. I'll probably move the old versions of scenes being changed to the end of the chapter for those that want to (re)read them.

11. What reoccuring themes present themselves throughout their music videos?
OKAY ACTUALLY I DID A LOT THOUGHT ABOUT THIS!
Key visual aspects would be the things inside Hikaru's room and their garden and flowers. Hikaru's room, at the start of the video, would be covered of things they like. Just as this one art I did:
you could also use parasite as a reference, bc the first time I saw the vid it shocked me alot bc both the visuals and lyrics fit hikaru so well. how it transitions from light colors to dark ones.
At first, Hikaru's room looks like it always does; full of the things they likes, full of color, stuffed animals, posters, decorations and a lot of other things. There are also a couple of things that stand out, these being green, representing Kazuto; This would represent how, despite the fact that Hikaru keeps their inner world almost intact at the beginning, little by little they integrates what Kazuto is with what they are. As the video advances, Hikaru's things start dissappearing and they're replaced by Kazuto's things, their whole room being fully covered on green and non-personal items at the end.
Scenes from Hikaru's daily life. At this point in the video, most of the things on their room are green or gray. The old decorations in their room are thrown on the floor and they looks physically more tired. Hikaru trips and falls among their belongings, "drowning" on them.
The next important symbolism would be flowers, that also mirror Parasite's mv.
Hikaru gives Kazuto their first gift: common dahlias. Dahlias usually represent a strong bond between two people, but they can also represent instability. Kazuto smiles at them.
Hikaru is taking care of the dahlias in their garden, however with each scene they are slowly losing their color. They don't wilt, but they look much less alive than before. However they continue to water and care for them. From this point and increasing in the following scenes, Hikaru has visible injuries.
At the end of the video Hikaru cuts the dahlias they've been planting. This time, they are black dahlias. Black dahlias represent negative feelings such as sadness or feeling betrayed. Upon reaching their room, everything is grey, except for Kazuto's things. Among all their things Kazuto rests face up on the floor. Hikaru puts the flowers on his chest, hugs him and it cuts.
Something that's also important throught both videos would be Kazuto's appeareance. In their 1st song, Kazuto would look younger, which is this one design:
Following t1 Hikaru inno route, this would change in the second video, where the actual Kazuto would be showcased. Hikaru and Kazuto met when Hikaru protected him from bullying, therefore Hikaru's perception of him would stay as someone who can't take care of himself and needs Hikaru. As this starts to change and Kazuto starts to move on from Hikaru, they start distressing and just stays fixated on the past of their relationship, when Kazuto needed them and everything seemed nice.
Seeing past Kazuto instead of the actual one would represent how they're still stuck in the past and in this idealized, more weak version of who Kazuto is
I still haven't structured their 2nd mv, but I know that the first one will focus on their happy moments while the second one will focus on how they met, how Kazuto changed and ultimately how Hikaru killed him.
15. What would their birthday art look like? What type of cake would they have? Is there any hints of their murder in them?
okay this one was hard but I thought about red velvet, it has their same color scheme and also is my favorite cake yum
idk what kind of hints it could posses about their murder, I probably will draw this later but it could maintain the flower's theme, probably the same dahlias, and things representing Kazuto

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH LADS!!!
Since it is the month of pride now, here are headcanons of my favourite fictional characters' sexualities!
Sonic: he's trans-mascu/ gay, let me explain. He transitioned to male and will go on dates with other males, I like to imagine that he's got a lot of fur to the point where it's hard to see those wonderful top scares (even tho he wishes he had longer and/or more fur).
Crash: he's absolutely our autistic short bisexual/aroace king! He's a hopeless romantic that half of the time has no idea what he's saying, therefore will always ask his partner "u ok?" When his partner is just flustered after what he's told them. 🤭
Sans: he's an even shorter straight king! His love for Tori goes through the roof but for a guy his size he's one of the biggest allies for this community.
Edge the rabbid: Lesbian/bisexual icon, she started dating with Midnite (obviously), but then after they broke up Edge went on with Rabbid Mario, cuz he's one of those "one out of many" to Edge.
Leon Kennedy: he knows that he acts gay but he's actually straight cuz like Sans with Tori, Leon's love for Ada is through the roof, even if Ada doesn't return the love. Is he an ally? Abso-fucking-lutely.

So a lot of things have happened right
Tl;dr I have a few undiagnosed chronic issues that I’ve been trying to resolve with my GP for a few years. It’s been a medical investigation basically. Going over shit that’s been dismissed before it looked over to try and—well whatever, my point is that it’s a lot.
One of my biggest problems is chronic fatigue. I think I’m so close to getting a diagnosis and proper treatment. But in the meanwhile, the least bit of stress will set off a whole immune response. As you can imagine, this is not conducive to working 20-30 hours a week!
And while my boss seemed to have understood this last year when he offered me a work from home position, he clearly has not understood that I am chronically ill and that my therapist is actually not too fond of me working at all, let alone working for him.
And yesterday this. This—this idiot decides it’s appropriate to demand I work, physically, in office, four days a week. Which is at best 1h30 away from home by public transit, or a $100 round trip with an Uber. I do not drive.
(This previously was less problematic given that my father, who works with me, would pick me up and drop me off the days I did go in. But he is currently on extended medical leave to recover from surgery (nothing major, a partial knee replacement, and he’s doing very well!) and therefore I do not have an accessible way to get to work.)
So I’m waiting to talk with a doctor today to get rules as unfit for work—which, at the moment, I very much am. This is something that can be revisited in a year if needed, once I hopefully get a dx and treatment.
And then tomorrow—“Hope to see you on Monday”, ya sure will bud—I am going to hand in my resignation and go out for jobs with a friend, which another friend has offered to pay for. So.
Another tl;dr my boss is an ableist asshole, im quitting, and hopefully I can stop being a chronically tired bitch soon but mostly I’m hoping to be able to finish all the god damn fics I have lmao

I think liminal spaces are less about the physical architecture or climate or lighting of a space but rather a feeling it invokes that eerie nostalgia we see absence and what should be there but instead it’s barren and empty void of people yes but of laughter of crying of memories of the ability to capture the moment and snapshot time — bc if a tree falls in the forest and makes a thud but no one is there to hear it, did it make a sound? I think liminal spaces play with the same discourse in that no one is there to capture the moment and create an atmosphere yet it still has an aura of its own and that aura is filled w this like brooding and longing and nostalgia we can’t really articulate in words..That’s power!
These pics kinda validate in my mind that home is the atmosphere people create and not solely places home, in how we define it in conversation, is like a place u like to go bc u know that the ppl u love will also b there (that’s how I understand it) but what happens to home when it becomes a house again and the people and the moment is gone..much to chew on
I think home is a place we go to when we cement who we are at our most comfortable into a physical space and when we miss who we are when we are not working or not amongst others we go home. Home is a sanctuary a church a place to worship ourselves in our comfort clothes and food and people and when it’s not we search for the feeling we are told home is supposed to bring us everywhere else.
The liminal space lives in a perpetual state of transition it functions not as once did and is void of an assigned purpose now and doesn’t know it’s future it lacks identity and therefore all it can do is mourn. A visual purgatory of half-accomplished journies.
We are afraid of the endless transition and waiting that liminal spaces undergo bc we are afraid of change/what things could mean but not having an answer in this moment.
A physical space with potential function, but no identity, no purpose, and no crowd to find value in it. A lot about Hong Kong’s depiction in film captures liminal spaces I want to learn more about this so imma read this paper
