Fuck! What if I- Nope. Won't work it's missing the whole middle section. Shit. Fuck. Um, um, um... come on think. This is why we need to get better at time management! Lol, who am I kidding, that's never gonna happen. Okay time to check the drafted pile for apology one shots. Hmm... Which one to pick... ... Heh, forgot I had that. Oh you're- oh wait no not posting you. I have plans for you. Okay gotta find something. I'm sure there's something here with like an arc or something. I just gotta dig around a bit. *one hour later* Okay so I can go with short sex joke that only exists for the tags, or pure crack that's still missing the ending. But that should be fairly easy to write, like maybe an hour or two tops. Hmm tough call... On one hand the sex joke is done, but there's no clear ending. On the other I can make it two parts for extra time, but if I don't write the ending soon then I'll be behind on two things... Hmm... Fuck it, double or nothing!

following on from this. not to always bring marc into everything (sorry marc) but if assen 2015 had happened against jorge, valentino would have very likely pulled something similar again imo. rather than what he actually did, which is approach marc almost immediately for a nice normal friendly handshake and backing off during the podium celebrations. should be noted that during laguna seca '08, valentino was very much committed to yapping at casey on the podium with the world's biggest smuggest grin on his face

partly that disparity is because jorge not marc was the direct title rival, partly it's because valentino was treating marc with kid gloves right until the second that he wasn't, which marc was seemingly entirely oblivious to. if anyone other than marc had said what he said in that presser, had then continued on with similar rhetoric during sachsenring, valentino would quite likely have gone nuclear. he's done it over less than that. his fondness for marc made him continue to exhibit uncharacteristic restraint... except that fondness unfortunately is what left valentino feeling so very betrayed when (to his eyes) marc could not leave well enough alone

I saw a "Yttd hot takes" post yesterday and it actually tickles my brain a bit how the majority of responses are not hot takes at all and mostly boil down to not caring for/hating Midori and saying that he's not deep or interesting at all and very surface level, thinking soushin is "proship" and if you like it you're probably an abuser irl or that you're ""romanticising"" abuse (that word needs to be put on the highest possible shelf btw) if you interpret it as romantic and that the greenblings reveal sucks because somehow it means that Sou and Kanna aren't found family anymore. There's having hot takes and then there's misunderstanding characters/dynamics and spouting the same dangerous bs all fandoms do, and 95% of the responses leaned heavily towards the latter options.

I have opinions on that greenblings take, but those soushin and Midori takes are something else and by that I mean not at all. Like, I'm sorry, but if your "hot take" doesn't oppose the general consensus of the fandom you're in, it's not a hot take. You're serving me white rice with unseasoned chicken and bland curry and I call that false advertising.

I think it's interesting how many people were able to clock Lindy as an awful person and then feel satisfied at the end of the episode because she was revealed to be a massive racist, but ignore Ricky September.

Ricky September, I think, is an example of the types of nasty, evil people who fly under our radar. We trust him because he's good looking and he smiles and he asks consent to hold Lindy's hand. We think it's kind that he walks Lindy through the path that's bordered by giant slugs. We don't like it when nasty, evil people don't look or act like like cartoon villains. It boggles our minds.

But it happens all the time. We meet people and we get surprised when a racist, or sexist, or homophobic, or transphobic comment comes out of their mouth. We feel betrayed. We might feel stupid for trusting them. We feel angry.

But when we come from cultures which teach us that evil people look a certain way (a way that has historically been based on marginalized people), we can get to a point where we ignore the evil standing right in front of us, because they look like us.

Of course there are layers to this. The people of Finetime are an extreme case. But if you think you've never met a racist, maybe you haven't been paying attention. Step out of your bubble.

I feel like I'm going insane. That episode read to me as a lot more tragic than other people are reading it. Yeah they were racist and rich and spoiled and awful but they were just kids. They were all just kids. Lindy was absolutely terrified throughout the whole thing and clinging desperately to what she knew, which was terrible. They could've had the chance to learn and become better but they chose to go die and it's infuriating and tragic because nobody deserves that. Nobody deserves to be eaten by slugs or die of exposure in the woods. Nobody deserves to suffer like that. But they chose it rather than let the Doctor help them because they'd rather stay in their rich white supremacist bubble and he just wants to help and there's nothing he can do.

Maybe it's because one of my core beliefs is that nobody deserves death and suffering. Nobody. Even the worst person on earth can learn from their mistakes and come back and change and everyone deserves that chance. There's no such thing as too late. But they're never going to get that chance because they actively rejected it and to me that's still very, very sad.

It's so funny to me the way some people talk about Arcane. We don't watch this expecting these people to make good decisions. We watch this KNOWING they will make terrible decisions. If you can relax and enjoy the war crimes you will have a much better time 😂
