Pardon the anon ask, I'm always asking in Anon.

The blurbs about SWK, Macaque, and Red Son about kissing them to keep them in bed are super sweet. So, now I must ask:

What about the opposite? Kissing them to coax them to bed? Like kissing them on their head to catch their attention before going to sleep or similar. (No need for NSFW unless you want to. I was just thinking fluff.)

Mild angst in Wukong's part. Mention of nightmares.

Sun Wukong

He falls asleep pretty easily but that doesn’t mean he sleeps well. He has frequent nightmares and is usually up in the middle of the night because of them. They tend to repeat but he never gets used to them, especially the ones where he’s too late to save you. 

You wake up to him yelling “No!” and bolting up. You startle awake and ask if he’s okay and what’s going on. 

“Y-You’re here. You’re okay.” He mumbles then evens his voice out. “Yeah, I’m fine, peaches. Just a nightmare.” 

You tiredly whine as he gets up but he assures you that he’s just going to get some air. 

After half an hour, though, you decide to go find him. You find Wukong sitting on one of the ledges overlooking Flower Fruit Mountain. You call out to him and sit beside him. He gives you a forced smile that turns to a genuine soft smile as you ask him to come back to bed. 

When you start kissing him, the man absolutely melts into your touch. Finally giving a sigh of relief and relaxing, he agrees that you shouldn’t be out in the cold and carries you to bed. 

Red Son

He tends to lose track of time when he’s working so this ends up being a rather common occurrence. To the point that Princess Iron Fan will sometimes ask you to get her son to go to sleep. 

Tonight wasn’t one of those nights, however, you did miss him since he’d been in his workshop all day and barely came out even to eat. You briefly greeted his mom as you passed her in the hall. 

You call out his name as you enter his shop. The loud clanging that usually accompanies his work stopped. 

“Shouldn’t you be in bed, my love?” Red Son asked, turning in his chair to face you. You point out that it’s late and he should be in bed too. “But I really need to finish-” 

He stops his protest when you start pressing kisses to his face. His face goes red and his magic flares up, causing his hair to light on fire. You giggle at the warmth on your face and tell him how much you just wanna cuddle and go to sleep but you can’t do that without your wonderful partner. 

“I.. I suppose this will still be here in the morning…” He says, finally relenting. He gets up and follows you to your shared room where he gives in to your demands for cuddles. 

Macaque

He usually gets home in the middle of the night so the fact that you waited up for him at all surprises him. 

“Hey, sugarplum, You’re up awfully late.” He says with his characteristic grin. “Go ahead and head to bed. I’ll be in soon.” You protest that you’re not going to bed without him and he chuckles. 

His smile softens and he says “Stubborn little thing aren’t you?” You tell him that it’s not unfounded since only god knows how late he stays up on any given day. “Touche” 

He goes to start stripping out of his armor but you pull him in first and start kissing him. He smiles and gives you just as many kisses back as he gets into his pjs. 

“Are you trying to seduce me into decent sleeping habits?” He asks, lightly laughing. You ask if it’s working. “It might be. If I come home to this every day, I might have to get home a little earlier.” 

He suddenly picks you up and throws you over his shoulder. You laugh and kick your feet at him. He gives you a light slap on the but and carries you to the bedroom where he throws you on the bed, careful not to hit your head on the headboard.

He plops down right after you hit the bed and starts kissing you again. You laugh as his fur tickles you. You slap his arm and tell him to stop. And after that, he pulls you close and you two settle down to sleep.

[Wukong: "Then we would have shared that furnace. And we'd be two idiots chained beneath the mountain together."]

Hmmm…I am not a hundred percent sure, but I think when SWK was in the furnace – he was reduced to ash, more than once, he just regenerated each time it happened. And considering he had to have been like 5 times immortal by then…I really doubt Macaque would have survived the furnace. SWK would just be trapped in there with the ashes of his friend/mate.

Although, now I have the image of SWK collecting the ashes and carrying them around in a jar/vase/something and still treating it like Macaque is alright – “Oh, look, Mihou, think we should try that?” – like something between a comfort item and a security blanket, but his mind not dealing with his LEMs death well to a point he’s just…like that. Still himself, but broken in a way.

Tripitaka thought he would be in over his head with the Monkey King being his protector – but the stone monkey clearly not coping well at all with a dead friend and treating their ashes as if still alive…Man’s praying for wisdom every chance he gets.

Referencing a line from my post about Wukong's stage fright.

Thats an extremely sad concept and a great idea for an angst au. It brings the idea of how Monkey (representing the Mind) handles legitimate grief. Him having a Mary Shelley-esque co-dependance on his past mate's ashes is 100% in character for SWK. He clings to the vessel containing Mac's ashes like Guanyin to her vase, rarely if ever putting it down.

I imagine the vase/vessel/urn resembles like those found in Chinese dig sites, but instead of the Imperial Palace, it is topped with a model of Flower Fruit Mountain.

Tripitaka/Tang Sanzang can sympathise with the pain of losing someone dear. In Journey to the West, he sets out to retrieve the scriptures after losing his mother + solving his dad's murder (and thats after being separated from them since and before birth). He's going through his own form of unhealthy grief, similar to his attitude in "The Great Tang Man"; he doesn't want to get close to anyone because he fears losing another loved one. But he sees that Monkey is refusing to accept that someone he cared for is gone, and wishes to find wisdom to help them both.

Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing are also sympathetic, but a little unnerved by Wukong's obsession. Bajie was a witness to Wukong's Havoc in Heaven, and knows that the Six Eared Macaque fell to the Furnace when his king did not. He's the one to yell at Wukong when he's annoyed by the monkey's chattering to the ash vessel. Wujing is the one to gently suggest ways to include Macaque's memory in healthier ways, and frequently helps Wukong with tasks when the monkey refuses to put down the vessel. Wujing knows how important those things are.

The one who understands the most though, is Ao Lie. He witnessed how his family went nuts in the aftermath of Ao Bing's death. The ones who grieved loudly and silently. The pain that rebounded onto Nezha and his family. Ao Lie was quite young when the death occurred, and always felt like he was on "the outside" of what was happening. He understands that this is the way Sun Wukong choses to process what has happened to Macaque. Ao Lie feels no place to correct him on it - and just understanding Wukong's pain is enough to help the monkey heal even if it takes years.

Wukong in this AU would be far more hesistant to kill his mortal opponents. He knows that even the strongest warrior may fall to ruin. And that the most hated Kings have someone who will mourn their loss. Sometimes his personality of an unhealthly-grieving widower is enough for some threats to back off. Even a demon knows that it is shameful to harass someone who is mourning.

I imagine the most shocked of their encounters would be the monkeys former allies...

Azure: "Sun Wukong? I thought you threw your lot in with the Heavenly Host. Following the beck and call of the Tang Monk." SWK: "I have. But I figured me and Mihou should pay you guys a visit." Peng: "The Six Eared Macaque? So he has survived the Furnace. No doubt he slunk away into the shadows once the lid rose. Where is that coward hiding now?" SWK: "He isn't hiding. He's been here the whole time." (SWK pats the vessel in his arms) The Brotherhood, all realising: "OH." ( ;O_O) (O_O;) ( `−ㅿ−´) Yellow Tusk: "...I believe the Six Eared Macaque has sacrificed the most for our cause. We should show him and Sun Wukong some hospitality, and listen to their tales of travel." Azure, creeped out: "Agreed."

Others like DBK and PIF would also be in mourning. But I could see them almost finding Wukong's behavior romantic. After all, they don't know what they would do if the other had died in battle.

I feel like instead of a "Macaque Chapter" where Wukong encounters his doppleganger while him and Tripitaka aren't on good terms; it's Wukong becoming frustrated with the others' worrying and comments and wanting to prove that theres a way Macaque still lives. And if it involves harassing the Heavens, the Underworld, or the Buddha himself then he'll try.

Perhaps the crux of his Journey is SWK deciding to let go and release Mac's ashes (likely at Flower Fruit Mountain) and learning healthier ways to honor Mac's memory. Or perhaps requesting that the Buddha reunite them - whether as a revival, in death, or in the next life...

BUT ALSO CONSIDER THIS:

Sun Wukong was only able to legitimately survive the Eight Trigrams Furnace (even with peaches, wines, and pills) because;

He's a manifestation of both Earth and the Mind. All the Furnace did was harden him like a piece of coal becoming a diamond.

Wukong isnt dumb. He knows enough about Taoist Alchemy to know that no matter how hot the crucible gets, it will always be its weakest in the Xun/Sun/Wind Trigram. The theory being that while Air feeds Fire, Wind supresses it - in science terms the increased pressure caused by the pure Wind element suffocated the hottest flames but created a lot of smoke; forever reddening Wukong's eyes.

Macaque is associated with Wind, especially in LMK and other Jttw-inspo works that merge his character with the Macaque King/Great Sage Informing Wind. And as a Celestial Primate/Mystic Monkey, he holds powers unknown to Heaven and himself.

If in Taoist Alchemy; Wind supresses Fire, then there's a chance that instead of becoming refined like a earthy diamond like Sun Wukong - the Six Eared Macaque would cause a different unholy reaction within the Furnace. Like a pressure cooker ready to burst, the Wind within would only expand/quicken until breeched.

Lao Tzu/Laozi opens the Furnance after 49 days, expecting the two monkey demons to be reduced to a pile of ashes and pills. He's met by a pair of monsters that burst forth from the crucible like Pandora's box.

Heaven weeps.

Even if Macaque's physical body was lost to the Furnace, he could retain enough magic to manipulate his ashes into a smokey ghost-like form. The Buddha would be forced to contain Macaque for those 500 years by sealing him in an air-tight vessel.

Wukong carrying around his mate's ashes and the pilgrims thinking him mad with grief, only for Macaque to reveal at an awkward time that he's still technically "alive". Pluming forth from the vessel and ensaring their foes with his ribbon-like tendrils.

LMK Angst Fic Part 5

Author's note: I think there need to be more platonic and friendship cuddling in media and in the world, so here we are. (Definitely not touch starved nope not me!)

Part 4:

It was around three in the morning in the celestial realm. Nezha had become accustomed to sleeping beside Sun Wukong every night and had even begun to enjoy it despite the reason why they started doing it. He had always thought of Wukong as a good friend and companion, which he didn't have very many of thanks to his workaholic attitude. Him and Wukong had even become quite comfortable with each other.

Nezha was aroace and Wukong still considered himself spoken for since his previous marriage had ended in death and not divorce. So it was as platonic as could be. However, they were both touch-starved and emotionally neglected as children, so there's that.

Wukong and Nezha had grown used to falling asleep snuggled up next to each other, with limbs tangled in weird form around each other. But neither of them were exactly still while they slept, so Nezha wasn't immediately concerned when he couldn't feel Wukong next to him when he flopped his arm around beside him to try and find the monkey he'd grown so close to.

Until he heard the whimpering.

That can't be good.

Nezha bolted upright in the bed. He searched the dark room for his friend's ginger-colored fur. He found it at the edge of the bed.

After clambering over to Wukong's side he gently and quietly asked:

Nezha: Wukong, are you awake? What's the matter?

SWK: *sobbing* I-it's my head! It's hurting! It hurts so bad! Please-

Nezha: Shhhhh, Wukong. It's alright. I'm here, it's okay. You'll be okay.

Nezha had become accustomed to Wukong's post-circlet migraines and various other symptoms of Wukong's traumas. It seemed as though even after Wukong had learned to cope with the physical damage done to him, his body had not, and was therefore having it's own posttraumatic episodes.

Nezha had found ways to sooth him luckily.

Nezha laid Wukong in his original position on his side of their shared bed and put an ice pack on his forehead. He then lit some incense and lightly wafted the fumes in Wukong's direction so he could smell it. That was more to soothe the monkey's panic than anything.

After laying back down beside Wukong, Nezha wrapped an arm around his chest.

Nezha: Are you comfortable enough?

SWK: I think so.....*gasps*

Nezha: Wukong what-

SWK: Hot flash. Don't worry, it's already over. Gosh, that felt bad.

Nezha: It will be alright my friend. I am here.

SWK: Thank you. For everything.

Nezha: No problem, I quite enjoy your company. I just wish you weren't in pain as often as you are.

SWK: You and me both.

They slept for a few more hours before getting up. Sun Wukong tended to be very weak during and after a migraine, as was the design of the circlet he once wore. Nezha helped him to the downstairs living room and set him up on the couch.

SWK: Ow.

Nezha: Sorry.

SWK: Nah, it's fine. I should be the one saying sorry to you.

Nezha: Whatever do you mean by that?

SWK: You're always having to help me out with stuff and getting me out of trouble.

Nezha: That is only half true. Besides, I do not mind taking care of you.

SWK: But don't you think of me as weak for needing help like this?

Nezha: No, not really. If I did, however, I'd be the world's biggest hypocrite.

SWK: What? How so?

Nezha went into the adjacent closet and pulled out a wheelchair, it was the active kind too, unlike the bulky ones you'd find in the hospital.

Nezha: I haven't told you this before, I probably should've by now but, I guess I share similar insecurities.

Nezha: I am disabled. I'm an ambulatory wheelchair user, meaning I can walk about easily at times, while others I cannot.

Nezha: That is also why I have my fire wheels, sash, and staff. They are mobility devices. Albeit they are a bit atypical.

SWK: Cool!

Nezha: Really? You think they're cool?

SWK: Well, yeah! I think that type of stuff is pretty interesting. I get why you wouldn't exactly want to show it off though.

Nezha: Thank you. Perhaps if you are ever needing some help after a migraine or other health complication, you can use one of my many wheelchairs! I hardly use most of them anymore, it's nice to have backups. Just in case.

SWK: Thanks for the offer. Maybe I'll give one a spin after I feel a little bit better. I still feel like my head will explode if I sit up.

Nezha: Alright then. I'll park this one next to you so you can have an easy transition when you are ready.

SWK: Thanks again.

Nezha: You are quite welcome.

Part 6:

No but Sun Wukong is so much... less alone(? now

He's been alone for centuries, with only the company of his monkeys. He hadn't left his mountain in 500 years; the first actual interaction he had with someone outside FFM was MK, and even then, it was just one person. He only met the rest of the gang at the start of season 2 and then he left

In season 3 he was literally stuck with MK, Mei, Pigsy, Tang and Sandy. He didn't have a choice; he was hurt, MK didn't have his powers and if he left then who knew what LBD could do to them? Besides, Macaque was looking for them. He couldn't leave (probably didn't really want to leave either)

Even though he had to interact with MK and the rest during season 3 because, well, they were literally living together, he was still hiding so much. No one knew about the fourth ring nor about what his initial plan was. He hadn't told MK about LBD when she first appeared and everyone was still upset at him for it (which, okay. Deserved. But also- angst)

In the scenes where the gang is having fun with each other, SWK tends to push himself away? He stays at the corner, a little too far away, showing that he doesn't consider himself part of the group. These MK's friends, not his, and even if he cares about them (and even if they're his family's reincarnations + descendant) he still distances himself from them. He keeps secrets, doesn't trust them the way MK does, refuses to tell them all about the Samadhi fire. Hell, they don't find out about his plan until it's already gone wrong!

At some point in pretty much every season, MK is hugged by his friends after some life threatening stuff happens. SWK (if he's present) smiles fondly and stays out of it. After he finds out about LBD and the gang are having a good time together, celebrating (and also being so excited to meet the Monkey King), he gifts them some hair food and leaves

Also, at the start of Revenge of the Spider Queen it's shown that he wants to either celebrate with MK or spend his day alone like he's been doing every year for centuries

In the final episode of season 2, MK's friends rush to his side and no one goes to check on Wukong, even though he looks pretty hurt. Heck, they're (rightfully) angry at him! It's only after they convince him to let them accompany him to the West that we see him patched up, and that's on the first episode of season 3 (also it's already nighttime when that happens)

When the gang hugs Pigsy in Cooking with Chang'e (I think that was the episode?) he smiles, looking happy for them, but he doesn't join them

I'm not saying that they don't care about SWK, because they really do! But he mostly keeps to himself, never tells them what's going on and left when MK needed him the most without explaining why. Besides, he's a legend. No one can know what's happening inside his mind. How can they trust him when they don't even know when he's being truthful?

In all of the scenes where they're all together in one place, SWK either stays closer to MK or leaves. There is no in between. Really shows how MK is pretty much his only friend lol

Also, all of his relationships went wrong. Macaque, Azure Lion, the rest of the brotherhood — all of them, thrown to the ground because of 'his' mistakes and 'his' bad deeds (not all of it was his fault, but there's no way he doesn't blame himself for that. He and MK are very similar). He (assumedly) killed Macaque and Azure Lion, Peng and Yellow Tusk were left in the scroll and he sealed DBK under a mountain. The friendships he did manage to keep are now gone not because of him fucking up, but because they're dead. MK is the first friend he's had in a long time and he is very afraid of messing that up too

When Mei gets the Samadhi fire (“Can't you see you're hurting the people who care about you the most?!” she said people, not person. She wasn't only talking about MK. They care about SWK too!), the first thing he does is leave again. He pushes everyone away, leaving MK and the others to take care of everything himself, and it fails. He fails, and MK is almost killed because of it. In the end, it was only because MK was accompanied by the people he cares about that he won. This makes Wukong see stuff differently

Post-season 3. SWK realizes that he doesn't have to be all alone. He notices how MK is doing so much better than him because he has friends (his support network or whatever that's called) and is like “Ohhhhhh okay. Yeah that makes sense. Alright-”

After the whole LBD fiasco, SWK is willing to trust other people more. He not only cares way too deeply now, but he also tries to share what's on his mind a little more! He's doing his best to show that he trusts them too and I think he's doing a pretty good job!

When Inky separates them, he says that he won't let some dumb curse keep him and his friends trapped. His friends. They're no longer only MK's buddies. They're not strangers he might've known once anymore; they're his friends. And some day they will be his family

The reason why they seem more like friends now is because of Sun Wukong himself. Sure, he might've needed some help, but he finally started to try to just. Stop pushing everyone away. This is why he's so much closer with the rest. It was all him

Also, I love this because it shows how you're the only one who can make the final decision that will change your life (dying or living, staying or leaving). You're more than allowed to ask for help and you can get it from anyone, but in the end, it's all you.

In the season 4 special, Sun Wukong shares his plan. He hadn't told MK about Azure Lion and the brotherhood before, sure, but that's because he thought that was over. In the scroll, when Macaque and MK go to find him, he opens up to MK. Shares his worries. Lets MK (and Macaque too I guess, with that smile. Ugh that SMILE) comfort him. And he, most importantly, fights alongside MK in the final battle. He gives the team the information they need for MK to come up with a plan. They fight together

And when the season 4 special ends, Yellow Tusk says something about true heroes (I can't remember the exact line) and the camera shows all of them, SWK included. The only one who is not there is MK, and even then it's clear that Yellow Tusk was talking about him bc the camera cuts to him sitting all alone at the edge of the cliff

SWK goes to sit with MK, but this time the rest of their friends are there. Sun Wukong, immortal or not, is a little less lonely now

Episode 6! Leggo!! This is gonna be my last one today because though I want to stop worrying about spoilers, I also want it to last at least a little bit longer.

We inch ever closer to the return of Mac and also to later episodes that I just KNOW will be emotionally devastating.

Tang panicking, things are as they should be.

...ever have a thought strike you with the force of a wrecking ball while drinking water? Yeah, that happened...

We know from what the writing crew says that Macaque *thinks* he died by SWKs hand in their fight - implying that wasn't the case.

I've been of the theory that SWK knocked Macaque out cold, left to go back to the rest of the pilgrims and when he returned, Macaque was gone, thus SWK concluding he's fine, since he shadowportaled away...

...only Macaque, who had been conscious enough to portal away before loosing consciousness fully, had been killed by someone else while out cold, his last memory being of SWK attacking him.

Which leads to Macaque believing it was SWKs doing.

Which more or less lines up to their interaction in Macaque's debut episode, because if you killed him, why act so casual about it, right? SWK certainly was surprised when Azure came back, so why Macaque's different?

But I got hit with a thought of inspiration...

SWK fought Macaque and knocked him out cold, left to see how the pilgrims are.

Then he returns to see how Macaque is, only to find another demon having killed him.

I mean, the Tang Dynasty was a dangerous place with all the demons that were causing trouble. If ya eat the Tang Monk and get immortality - or whatever was it, don't recall now exactly - than maybe someone could be certain if you eat another demon, you get their power?

That and the angst we could heap on these monkeys - imagine SWKs face when he sees some demon feasting on his (ex?)friends corpse.

Imagine how it must feel to know you knocking out your friend like you did ended up with them being killed and eaten by a no-name demon who just wanted power?

How you might as well have killed them yourself when you turned away from where they lay...

So Rebecha and Super Weasel Kid never met, but Rebecha knows about him because of Walk, and SWK doesn’t even know she exists. HOWEVER. If they did meet, they would have this ‘wine aunt and prankster nephew’ dynamic like “yo can I borrow this dangerous thing for a prank?” “take it and leave me alone. (finally something interesting will happen)”

She met Mr. Squarell once in Secrets of Legendaria and they very much relate to each other.

Rebecha hates Irving with every pixel of her being. He hates her too. They can’t be in a single room together without beating the shit out of each other. Anyways that’s why she’s so rebellious and wants to get the fuck out of Gameworks/Gamefuna. Because the workplace is shit.

She gets along very well with Bryce, she listens to his stories from the Cooking Granny series and he taught her a few things about cooking/baking!

Wizarro is her best friend. Bestest friend she ever had. She tells him everything from gossips to personal stuff and he’s always there for her if she needs comfort. He’s too pure for this world T-T oh and also they paint each other’s nails

also she didn’t really talk to the other fighters in Combat Arena X but she had this rivalry with Shinobee and Alley Gator-

Rebecha somehow befriended Jack, the Sphinx’s servant. They understand each other. And he teases her by calling her Rebecca on purpose. That’s pretty much it. Also Wizarro always shushes him whenever he’s about to say a curse word. Everyone actually. Just because.

Rebecha tried to flirt with the village girl once and only got a death stare in return.

Sharing the newly generated AU idea that came to mind while reading fanfics. I’m just desperate for a 2012 tmnt x lmk fic. ANYWAYS.

So it’s canon divergence and basically lbd doesn’t die and the whole convo with MK doesn’t happen, the mayor takes lbd and they leave China and head to nyc to start anew and regain power and control and whatnot and that’s when they see the turtles and lbd is like “I want them” so for like weeks the mayor is observing them and how they act and fight and yk what a spy does and because I love angst I’m throwing Mikey angst in there and yes mikey will sadly be suffering and be the brother that’s picked on and not treated right oh well and Mikey is like out sulking and whatever and that’s when mayor is like “yoo wanna be apart of destiny and show what you can really be?” And Mikey is obvi skeptical cause yk mutants and whatever but then more weeks go by and Mikey is lowkey meeting mayor on the DL but he eventually decides to work with them even though they’re using him LMAOO. So then lbd and mayor have Mikey do a bunch of dangerous missions and shit and Mikey basically becomes the new ‘champion’ yk he’s like that. But the interesting part and when the story gets good is when April has her red flag radar going off and basically follows mikey seeing what he’s up too and def not a good feeling about lbd and mayor and goes and tells the guys the rat daddy about it and yk rat daddy is all wise and knowing and powerful whatever knows about Chinese mythology and is like “lol read jttw it mentions this” and everyone’s like ?? Cause it’s folklore BUT it’s actually true cause yk lbd is literally there and then boom they set off on a mission to go find swk and then yk antics, convincing, trauma bonding, all the funsies that go into protecting the world. And then they team up and see that lbd has basically taken over mikey and they fight blah blah blah and boom mikey is no longer possessed and yes lbd is actually killed this time with mayor and then idk rainbows and happiness or smth

Just a fun thought I thought I'd drop here :D

I was going thru ur page and it made me think of Wukong and Mei as a duo, u know (whatever their duo name is idk). Specially with mk-mei and Wukong-macaque parallels👀

And well I just thought what if Wukong saw the parallels and got kind of wary of them. But he doesn't think of the implications for mk, he just thinks of the what-ifs for mei, with her being the Macaque to MK's Sun Wukong. Because mk fine, he's not THAT similar to SWK's past self, the kid is so different! so SWK doesn't possibly need to worry about him AT ALL. But mei, well, she isn't like present!Macaque, but I mean, maybe past!Mac wasn't like present!Mac either!

So maybe he tries to get closer to her to ease his mind, and they end up bonding. After fixing the "almost let me get destroyed by the samadhi fire" issue, of course.

Idk just thinking it would be cute to see SWK taking a liking her, regardless if it's because she reminds him of Mac or not, he needs closer friends in my opinion

I definitely agree Wukong needs more close friends that's not literally just MK, and their dynamic seems pretty fun (from what we see of it) already. Also, I love Mei and the Monkies, I will never say no to more buddies.

Honestly I find this somewhat amusing because Mei (imo) is the polar opposite of Macaque (present or past, again, imo) while MK seems to (in his own way) take on more and more traits of Wukong's. Wukong being oblivious to that and not realizing it would be both a little funny and potentially very tasty.

(This isn't to discount what you're saying btw, I like the idea)

I've been going around and trying to find as many people that headcanons SWK and Mac as siblings as I can, and from what I can see from your posts..I can say your account is close enough :)

Now, back to the main point.

Have you ever read "Brotherhood Destiny Fulfilled" by LadyGreenFrisbee before?? If you haven't, then I suggest you read it! It has SWK and Mac as siblings and one of my top favs!!

The plot is that during the Season 3 special, Macaque basically frickin' dies at the hands of a possessed Wukong.

Wukong revives Macaque by doing some property damage in the Diyu and practically drags Macaque's soul out of there while Macaque is having none of it and being extremely petty. Macaque's thoughts are basically like "Oh, if you care about me so much you would've got me out the first time." Basically the basic petty younger sibling stuff.

Wukong tries to reconcile with Macaque, with the help of Mk (keyword: tries), and Macaque just keeps being petty and spiteful about it. Basically, Angst. Just a shit ton of Angst, sprinkled with fluff and found family.

It has the headcanon of SWK and Mac being brothers, and has a backstory on how they became brothers as well! It's also one of my all time favs!

So yeah…Lao Tzu cracking that bad boy open to see what’s up and this unholy combination of both SWK and LEM comes out screaming and hitting – confused, gotta be in a lot of pain, freaking the fuck out in general. Heaven shrieks in terror as this abomination continues the rampage that leaves nearly all of Heaven in shambles – can’t believe they are wishing for SWK to be the one to do it instead.

Dunno what else to say, but I guess there would be a lot of derealizations, disassociations and identity crises down the line. Maybe identity death? Definitely grieving over the loss of self. That Journey is gonna be FUN.

Hmm….Welded Monkey AU? It’s a synonym of fused and, get this, *married*. Guess when they work it out, they might go Garnet on all this, then? Just a Garnet that couldn’t defuse even if they wanted to…okay, bad example…

(Also, imagine the general Wukongverse reaction to this…this fused monkey that still struggles with feeling real and has no actual identity…like, they love their LEMs but that is just the purest of nightmare fuel even for them – who would’ve thought the furnace could bring forth even more fears?)

"Welded Monkey!au" is delightfully devious.

Sun Wukong and the Six Eared Macaque may have technically "died" to the Furnace...

But the four-armed, firey-eyed, six-eared, and two-tailed Welded Monkey King of the Crucible was born.

And of course this is considering that the being born from the furnace is a grown fusion, and was not compressed into a fresh Diamond Stone Egg from the ashes...

Both two previous minds clashing and marrying and a whole new mind forming all at once. Not even the Buddha is sure what to make of it.

The battle in heaven is legendary, and even the strongest warrior Erlang Shen is left permanently injured - the Welded Monkey being his equal match + 1. But like with the original story, the Monkey proves far too proud to turn down a bet from the Buddha (though the Macaque part of them yells that it's a trick).

Tripitaka finds his bodyguard 500 years later chained under the Mountain, and nearly faints from the sight.

A tall, bronze-furred monkey that looks at the monk with equal fascination and disgust. Molten copper and iron still dripping from their maw. Lets just say Guanyin needs to apply the crown immediately or else the combined anger of SWK and the spite of LEM means one less Journey member.

Many demons run at the sight of them.

The Welded Monkey (aka "Alloy/Héjīn) refers to themselves only in plural pronouns, as to respect their original forms.

They wield a staff and can jump into the shadows of their foes. To the unknowing, it's like seeing an Asura fight on earth.

Their personality is one of opposites; cheeky and demure, boisterous and calculating, honest and scheming, theatric and shy. So many aspects of Sun Wukong and Macaque combined.

It gets a little awkward for them to explain what's exactly going on. Enemies think it's an interesting power-up. Former friends are the most confused.

PIF: "So are you Sun Wukong or are you Macaque?" Hejin: "Yes and no." DBK: "So their child? Being a combination of both?" Hejin: "We have their memories though." DBK: "Hmm... what's it like?" Hejin, thinking for a while: "Noisy. On the inside." PIF: "I always did think Wukong and Macaque would marry. Just not in this way."

I imagine their Journey is more one of finding their own personality and identity after their creation, and them/the world as a whole accepting the loss of who they once were.

The Wukongverse def pities/is terrified of what Hejin respresents. Hejin is not a SWK/LEM child, nor are they just them combined - they are something Else.

The different Lao Tzu/Laozi's make sure to note; "Do Not put more than one monkey in the Furnace at once."

LMK Angst Fic Part 3: Mental Catastrophe

Yep, we're going all out with this one.

Part 1, 2, + symbolism note if you haven't read it yet.

Macaque had left because of his own falling out with MK. Well, falling out would suggest he had been friends with MK at some point which would be a hyper-exaggeration of MK's tolerance towards him and his previous actions. MK had apparently called him out on his toxic codependency to Sun Wukong, something which Wukong had known about for some time but this was apparently a major eye-opener for Macaque. He said he needed to take time to find out who he was without Wukong, if he was even anything at all. Wukong respected this, but it had the unfortunate side effect of triggering his PTSD, as he had left in a similar (but much harsher) manner to rot away in so long ago.

~Several months later~

Sun Wukong was walking towards the bathroom of his small house, his vision blurry, when he felt it. A tightening feeling around his head gradually getting stronger, more aggressive. But he was free. He was supposed to be free. How could he have the circlet it around his head again?

He started to chip away at it with... something... he didn't bother to look at what he grabbed. Harder, more forcefully, at any point of it he could reach, searching for some type of weak spot, though he knew from experience that there were none. But he had to try.

The circlet induced migraine it created was getting worse, and worse, and worse, and worse, and worse, and worse, and worse... Wukong started screaming at the feeling of the circlet it decaying his brain from the outside in. He hit harder, and harder, and harder, and harder, and harder, and harder, and harder, and harder, and harder, and harder, and harder, and harder, and harder, and harder, and HARDER, AND HARDER...

Until someone started to restrain him, wrapping their arms around Wukong from behind... but the grasp was... gentle... What kind of a restrictive move would be so loose, so soft to the touch? Until he realized,

It wasn't a type of restraint.

It was a hug.

A full bodied one at that.

Legs wrapped around his and everything.

Could it be? Ao Lie?

Without looking, Wukong smelled the other person's hair deeply.

No, it couldn't be, Ao Lie smelled of river water and lily pads.

This person smelled of river water and of water-based flowers but those flowers were not lily pads.

He sniffed again.

Lotuses?

SWK: Nezha? Is that you?

He heard a sob-filled voice respond: Y-yes.... it's m-me...

He had been crying, but why?

Wukong looked at himself. They were sitting on their knees, their left arms wrapped in a loose hug, and the right arm... the.. the right arm...

was holding a shard of bloody glass. Every inch of his clothes and his face doused in his blood.

Oh shit.

That's what he was crying about. But he just had to ask...

SWK: Did I get it off?

Nezha: What?

SWK: Did I get it off?

Nezha: I-I-I- heard you the f-first t-time but w-w-w-what are you t-talking a-bout?

SWK: The circlet, obviously!

So apparently there was no circlet around his head, it was just a horrible waking nightmare, Sandy would call it a flashback if he knew.

Nezha nursed his wounds, he used a bit of celestial magic and some bandages as to prevent further injuries and potential infections. He also stripped Wukong of his blood stained clothes (with Wukong's granted permission, of course) and helped him change into fresh ones without exasperating his injuries (supposedly).

Nezha was taking an almost extreme amount of care for him. He'd long since regained his composure and his crying stopped, but that meant it was replaced with near-endless lectures on reaching out for help and "FOR THE SAKE OF WHATEVER DEITY YOU BELIEVE IN, SEE A THERAPIST!!! FOR CRYING OUT LOUD WUKONG!!!"

He meant it in the best and nicest ways possible, he was just panicked, stressed, possibly traumatized....

Yep, definitely traumatized... and... uh-oh...

Nezha: Do you have even the SLIGHTEST idea of how my mother reacted when I...

Nezha: when I...

Nezha: Anyway, there are people in this world who care about you, Wukong. I know it might not seem that way at all times but you must realize and see that there are people who would be devastated by the loss of you. If you can't think of anyone else that would, know that if that were to happen I would mourn you.

Nezha: I would mourn you. You are my brother and I love you.

Well, shit.

That's a first.

A celestial who would grieve his life's end.

That's definitely a first.

Wukong thought he would continue his stern and emotion-fueled rant, but to his surprise, Nezha just wrapped his arms around Wukong's neck and layed on top of him, both sprawling across the slightly bloody couch.

And this time, they both cried themselves to sleep, and they were left undisturbed.

So my brain basically functions only because of angst so I made some kind of AU??? about what could happen with Nuwa if she appears and stuff

I've always liked body horror and all that dark stuff so there's gonna be some of it here! It's not very explicit though. Just some small things that might point to it happening

So. It starts with Nuwa finding MK!! Or MK finding Nuwa first idk. Nuwa starts to like MK (PLATONIC) and MK really loves hanging out with Nuwa! So everything is great. They're some kind of friends or at least allies

However, Nuwa is still, well, a god, and MK is a mortal (as far as she knows at least). She may like him, but she can't care for him the way a mother would care for a child. She doesn't even know she's technically his mother yet!

So shit happens, blablabla, and Nuwa finds out MK is the little stone monkey she carved all those years ago. She gets very excited to see that her attempt at creating such a powerful lifeform like SWK actually worked and immediately goes to tell MK, who has some very mixed feelings about this

Eventually MK starts to sort out his feelings on all this and wants to have some mom and son bonding time! Just to see what'd it be like. Nuwa of course accepts, saying that she'd love to run some tests on him to see how alive he is and how stone he is. Nothing bad yet! Things are great!

So Sun Wukong finds out while MK is gone w Nuwa. He freaks out because "ohh shit why why why not AGAIN--" and speeds off to her lab or whatever she has to find her and MK. Turns out they're not there, but what is there are some very disgusting attempts at creating some kind of Monkey King clones?

So of course, Sun Wukong is disgusted. And also mildly traumatizing because there is a lot of beings who look so much like him and are literally mutilated. They have blobs all over their bodies and what they are is clear: failed attempts at creating a being as powerful as he is

He goes to explore a bit (ignoring how disgusting the whole scene is, because nope he is not dealing with the emotions this brings right now, MK needs help and he's gonna get it!) and finds some other failed attempts at life! Except that this time, they're not him. They're MK

Now, they don't all look that much like MK. Some of them are just broken stones and unhatched eggs. But the similarities are very obvious and easy to see and SWK does not like that

So basically, to summarize, Nuwa was going crazy while trying to find a way to create a weapon as strong as the Sage himself. There were many failed attempts (she first started by trying to make actual clones, then continued by making stone eggs which melted very painfully when they were born) but eventually, she finds a way

Nuwa realices that cloning the Monkey King won't work, but that maybe, just maybe, if she made something similar to him, it'd come to life safely. So instead of trying to create a second Monkey King, she decided to make some kind of weird sibling for him

MK wasn't the perfect being she wanted (that was obvious because while the egg she made was stable, it wasn't radiating the power Monkey King has), but he was the closest she got to creating actual life, so even if she decided to let him live, he was thrown out and ended up in FFM. Nuwa doesn't check on him because he's not the one she wanted. Or maybe she accidentally threw him out by idk, kicking him or smth and straight up didn't know he exists

So now MK has to deal with knowing that he's just a failed experiment and that he has thousands of siblings who didn't make it and died in painful and horrible ways. Hooray!

@jamie-is-out-of-ideas PREACH @brookiecookie14 I get so angered where there are fan-works that macaque is the "victim" and wukong is the "abuser". Hopefully we'll get more of wukong centric fan works because it's been driving me nuts that we've only been getting macaque centric fanworks (which I don't have problems with macaque, I love macaque, but macaque also did his damage to wukong and I would want to see wukongs emotions and perspective of it)
