While I have seen a couple 'Macaque Reincarnated' stories, I want to put out at least the base idea for what I had in mind.

Somehow Liu er Mihou gets reincarnated into a new Macaque Yaoguai, he doesn't remember anything about his past self except for hearing about the JTTW stories.

His memories sometimes show up as echos of dreams that he doesn't really remember.

The only thing that kinda transferred over was his love of dramatics and performing so he's an actor on stage and the big screen occasionally. Though gets very tired of getting type cast when invited to do renditions of JTTW. (Okay there may be some lingering annoyance at Wukong involved)

Now how he ends up dragged back into the main storyline of LMK is along the lines of,

LBD/WBS somehow has MK trapped and is preventing Sun Wukong from getting to him. She boasts using a ritual to revive Macaque, only to summon his reincarnated self who is being effected a bit weirdly from the ritual, and might be slowly gaining his old Liu er Mihou form.

Macaque is very confused, and being overwhelmed by gaining the ears and hearing, and just curses out LBD/WBS for dragging him into this mess, not to forget whatever is happening with MK and Wukong at the moment.

This is open for interpretation, and rewriting in parts.
