So okay the majority of us agree on these things about Sonic Prime right?

Rebel Rouge and Renegade Knuckles are DEFINITELY together and would die for each other

Nine is an angsty baby that deserves to be protected and have a happy ending (please Netflix I swear to god)

Also Sonic seeing every version of Tails gets him in protective big brother mode and the impact that has on Tails is adorable

Rusty Rose must have some of OG Amy's compassion in there but her transformation in part robot probably hid that aspect of her personality in the programming

Shadow was waiting in the void for God knows how long, calling for Sonic with the mere purpose of beating the shit out of him

Sonic must have some neurodivergency (ADHD maybe?) and there is NO way he's straight

Something something Knuckles didn't start getting sick until he met Eggman. The Master Emerald and Angel Island were a very safe and healthy environment, working specifically so Knuckles would be healthy and thrive in order to take care of the island in return. He'd never been sick, never had any bad germs to really worry about, he always thought he was just incredibly healthy.

And then he met Eggman. And Sonic and his friends. And suddenly Knuckles felt like he was dying from how terrible his immune system actually was when it came to common colds and sicknesses. What should have been a pretty standard illness for most Mobians turned into Knuckles being so weak he could hardly stand, his immune system shot because it hadn't experienced sickness before. All the symptoms exhausted him and he had no idea how to cure himself and the island no longer seemed to be helping.

The island looked as bad as he felt, flowers wilting and trees losing leaves and the Master Emerald didn't glow nearly as bright as it normally did. It got so bad that even before really knowing Sonic on a personal level he invited him to the island just so the island would be taken care of. He never thought about himself.

But Sonic made it his goal to be the first one to continue to be nice to him, to take care of him and make his first time being sick as easy as possible because he really did look miserable. Sonic didn't mention it though, he knew Knuckles already felt bad enough.

What are your thoughts on the idea that Sonic and Knuckles were destined to meet and be friends? Maybe destiny brought them together. On angel island in hidden palace zone, there is a mural of a hedgehog that looks suspiciously like Sonic...

I really love this idea!! The "meeting you was destiny" trope isn't always my favorite when it's done done right, but I feel like it applies as a great headcanon, and it could be done perfectly. I wonder if Knuckles admired the hedgehog in the mural or feared it? Either way, it would definitely be a surprise to have Eggman tell you to fight him and later become his friend.

Another thing, Sonic Prime IS NOT A ROMANCE. I know sonadow is so cute and sonknux is also adorable but since this show is about friendship and their character arcs, unfortunately it makes sense for that to be Shadow's last appearance. That's still who he is, and even if it included romance in the show, it would've ended with the gang going to fight a bad guy again. It's not focused on giving every single character a final cute interaction, it's about the entire story. I get into shipping mode too, where I only see the show in terms of my ships or qprs, but I forget that it's an entire show in context with itself. I'm not judging yall or anything, but it honestly wasn't an awful or unexpected ending! And sonadow was never gonna be Canon I'm sorry to break it to some of yall. Maybe in the future a fan will start their own show where they happen to be gay 👀👀 or eventually in 200 years someone will make one of the ships Canon in a show.

I do have a big problem with the ending though: Nine. He needed a better ending.... Plus, they never established what he'd do once they left. They just assumed that Nine would continue living in the grim, but we saw that he wanted Sonic to stay with him! They should've said a cheesy line about how he does have friends (the whole gang) or given him somewhere to go to be happy. Maybe the Amys adopted him idek. Anything. Or he went with one of the groups. Still a phenomenal show though.
