A little math in the morning

You know how it is when you're at work and you don't really feel like being at work cause all you are thinking of is Jikook (obsessed much? Oh, most definitely!!)?

This is one of those mornings.

And I figured, if I'm going down this rabbit hole, well, why not ask you to join?

And who doesn't love to do some math in the morning, right?

So yeah, math.

But wait a sec.

This math is the good kind.

The kind that tells us just how much Jikook we'll be getting.

The kind that makes us realize that we are going to be getting more Jikook than we have ever had before. More interactions. Longer moments. Like a full on show.

But just how much of it? Well, this is where the math comes in.

Now that the intro and explanations are done, let's get going:

We talked about the meaning of the 8's in my previous post, so I will forgo that in this one.

What I will be doing here is a little counting. You know. To put things into perspective. Because I feel like sometimes we lose that.

8 episodes of Jikook bliss is what we will be getting.

A show that will most likely be 20 to 25 minutes long. This is a starting assumption. I will be grateful for this, and every single minute added to that will be a blessing.

But if we take 20-25 minute episodes, that will give us:

20*8=160

to

25*8=200

Between 160 to 200 minutes.

And even if we cut out 10% of that as whatever (intro, outro, anything that doesn't have them in it), we will get:

144 to 180 minutes of Jikook.

Do you get that?

Do you register that?

A minimum of: 144 minutes.

That is over 2 hours of Jikook!!!!!

I don't think we can even imagine what that means.

We, who have been living on little few seconds to couple of minute increments of those two. The longest interaction we got was the live they did back in 2020 and that was them being totally vigilant and aware of the live camera (and yet...).

As much as the editing will probably be brutal, cause put those two together and more so add some alcohol into the bidding (we know there was alcohol) and you will get wild wild Jikookery that may end with bed nets being torn to pieces. But as brutal as it may be and as much as they might want to water it down (which I'm kind of wondering if they even are wanting to do this at this point - long train of thoughts going on here in that matter), you just can't do that with over 2 hours of exclusively Jikook content.

You just can't.

Boy, we are going to be rolling in it. This is going to sustain us for years to come. RB left behind. Hickey forgotten. TTU - what's that even? 'Are you sure' is going to be IT. That reference point. Can you even process it? I'm still trying to.

You don't need to have them making out on camera to recognize a certain type of dynamic. Just saying.

TMS Live Photos & Details

here's a few pics from the Too Many Spirits Live event on August 20, 2024, that took place on the Universal Studios backlot and then we all saw an advanced screening of Speak No Evil

tried to not spoil the show but put my notes behind a read more if you want to skip it and be surprised when the episode comes out

Lizzie came out to introduce the boys

Bartender was Ricky and his segment was filmed beforehand and they only played about a three second clip of him in the theater

Ryan messed up his intro line and had to re-do it when they'd only been on stage about two minutes. He said "this is going to shit!" and at one point left the stage to come back again. Shane said he just loves the applause

It was even funnier then that Shane messed up the outro and had to re-do his part once more

They gave us red and green flags to wave to react to the stories and the sounds of about a hundred flags fluttering was so funny. Ryan said it made him feel like he was gonna shoot a free-throw and Shane said the flags were his "favorite thing we've ever done"

They had time for four stories, and one was from someone who was in the audience and one was from someone on Team Watcher!

Shane said the some people on the crew have submitted TMS stories before, but they usually do it anonymously

The story titles and ghostie ratings were shown live on the screen behind them

Mark, Adam, and Annie were all running cameras and this should be available to watch later (but they didn't mention which platform)

Carter also setup a little camcorder for audience reactions (always nice to see Carter) so it'll be fun to see how it gets edited together

also not a fan of horror movies but this one was really good. and seeing it in a room of watcher fans who had some great reactions (and were probably laughing more than maybe one should at a horror movie lmao) was a fun time!!

so the Lore of tori as an online presence is that she starts as a small time channel where she just rants about things in an organized fashion and links a long document of citation, and part of this is that she is resistant to any type of pandering for money. she'll take her ad revenue as a neat little treat when it comes, but she won't do any of the things you're "supposed" to do for views. so she doesn't have an outro or intro. she doesn't tell you to subscribe. she won't take sponsors (she is not getting offered sponsors). she won't clickbait or hop on trends. she is about the ART dissemination and honest discussion of information, which she does with all the energy of a feral chihuahua

this shifts slightly when she starts going on site and obito gets involved. he's sort of like "why AREN'T we doing flashy editing" and at first he just wants to zoom in on a funny detail but as things progress he's like "no but we can make tori's unhinged ranting seem professional. and also i can put giant text of the verbal typo she just made over her face." also now her outro is obito yelling a nonsequitur at her and her yelling something back. some people are like "i miss tori's murder basement :( did tobi free her?" and tori is like WHY DOES NO ONE RECOGNIZE AN OBVIOUS BASEMENT APARTMENT it was in fact a prison cell

obito does a face reveal video but he's just wearing a mask. tori wakes up to way too many fucking comments. obito keeps changing her account password and so now there's a tori2 that just argues with people. there is debate about if tori2 is an imposter or not followed by debate if maybe tobi is holding tori hostage because she seems to have lost access to the main account? this theory is laughed off as conspiracy by most people though

commenter 1: torito is out as a ship. my new otp is tori/tori2 commenter 2: tori and tori2 would rip each other apart

the tori-itachi true crime merger means kakuzu gets involved in production and now they have ad reads. kakuzu tries to get obito to make clickbait title cards and obito creates the most unhinged things of all time. they do a trend video and itachi just keeps going "i do not understand the point of this" and the viewer can watch tori's soul leave her body as her desire to explain things to itachi clashes with her desire to not be so corporate

But, I have been working hard ever since my return. 😁 I completed the rise ramblings outro and intro music 🎵 and finalized my avatar redesign. 😚

I also decided to do a "soft start" video that's shorter, thus less stressful to produce than my long form ramblings. (which I need since I'm still new to the sound/video editing software.😩)

So with that in mind, I'm currently writing the script in hopes of voice recording by tonight and tomorrow and then I can screen record once that is complete.

So when will the video be posted?

hi i meant to reply to this yesterday sorry! under the cut bc i wrote a long answer oops

no it's the regular version but i chopped it up a bit for my purposes. i always want to be concise with my videos and only use the parts of the song i need; i never want to just fill a verse or chorus with footage that's not actually adding anything to my message just for the sake of using the whole song (obviously it's different when the length and Build-Up of a song are part of the point/arc of the video like in my somebody to love and bat out of hell videos).

for free, i cut the second chorus ("i hear the music...") entirely because i wanted it to only appear once and be the centerpiece of the video (the dancing section).

i moved the second refrain ("picks me up, puts me down") to the end of the song so that i could put it after the lines "but there is nothing else that i know how to do / but to open up my arms and give it all to you" to make it the culmination of the gale-specific section of the song and an echo of the first time we hear the refrain (first time: about the war, second time: about gale). i also added an extra "picks me up" to the end of that so the song still ends on a high note. :)

i also trimmed a single line from the second verse ("i said okay, but let's discuss this at the hospital") because i didn't think it fit lol, and it made it easier to cut that verse directly to the first chorus after i moved that second refrain. and then, last but not least, i shortened the instrumental intro and outro to just a couple measures because i wanted to get right into the action, which felt right for bucky. plus i had already decided not to use any dialogue in the video so i didn't need any extra instrumental space for that.

so basically yes it's the same version, i just frankenstein-ed it a little (a lot) to realize my Vision and create the arc i wanted for bucky! normally i don't chop up a song that dramatically (i'll often trim songs, but don't usually move sections around like that) but it felt important and i followed my heart hahaha

so you can do this from any device, (i prefer to do it from my computer though for reasons that'll be explained later) and if you have spotify premium you'll also be able to listen to it on all devices, but first thing you're going to do is go into your account settings and turn on the local files option

once you do that, it'll access any downloaded audio files you have, and you can listen to them on that device. they'll be stored in a spotify playlist named local files, similar to the liked songs one. (i would also recommend making a separate folder for the songs you want downloaded on spotify, at least on the computer, i know you can change which folder it takes from there. otherwise you might end up with random audio you downloaded for something specific in your spotify library.)

if you have premium, you can also turn on spotify on other devices, and add the song you downloaded to an actual playlist

and it'll sync up on all your devices and you can download the playlist on every device. if you don't have premium though you'll either have to download it on every device or you can only listen to it on the first one you downloaded it on.

now for actually getting the song. this is really simple I tend to go straight to youtube and it's usually pretty easy to find the song I want, and then I just put the link into a youtube to mp3 converter (dodging the hot moms in my area. maybe next time ladies) and then I download it. make sure it's in the right folder and boom! I now have mitski's cover of let's get married to cry to on demand! soundcloud also works though obviously because any audio file will do, and a lot of unreleased songs get uploaded to soundcloud, and there’s a handy little download button right there and you don't need an account! great if you run into a song that isn't on youtube. totally unrelated but I have phoebe bridger's cover of iris downloaded

now. reasons I tend to do it from my computer specifically.

1. most shady websites are just easier to navigate lol. it's twice as hard to deal with pop ups when things are also rotating your phone screen around. so yeah i'd prefer to hit up the mp3 converter from my laptop

2. if you have any songs where the only video for it has an annoying intro or outro, it can be easier to edit it out. like lil nas x's cover of jolene was from the youtube channel for some fucking radio station or whatever so I had to edit that out. and my laptop's native audio file player has a trimming option, so I didn't have to download extra software like I would on my phone

3. and most importantly to me, you can make it aesthetically pleasing. when you just download the audio file it won't have an album picture and it won't have an artist name it'll only have whatever the file name is as a title, which you can change obviously but it doesn't fix the rest of it. on the computer it is so easy to download a metadata editor, and you can edit the file's metadata however you want and it'll have the little artist line and the album if you want and you can put whatever picture goes with the song but this is of course not required it just matters a lot to me personally

In this post, I’ll delve into some topics that are pretty unknown around here - death and afterlives in the multiverse. What is it? What happens? Please make sure to read the note and enjoy!

ii. Note

Please keep in mind that all these things are experiences from me and several other multiverse explorers. I've already died around 50-100 times and visited way over 200+ afterlives in all kinds of reality concepts. Of course, it always differs in realities, but some basic things are always the same, such as the root of an afterlife and its purpose in a reality concept. This post is here to take away worries so you can be sure: death is nothing scary and never an end.

iii. Death

Let's talk about death - the end of a life. But really, no, it’s actually not. A lot of things happen, but even they are not ultimate. Death itself is not ultimate. There are as many realities where death exists as there are some where it doesn't. In fact, the topic of "death" around the multiverse is a heated debate.

Negative things like anger, worries, doubts, fear, pain, jealousy, and all these things are not natural. They are mostly (in this reality concept) a product of being human, and our subconscious mind always tries its best to keep them away from us. But still, they are part of some reality concepts, often the ones that the mainstream of awarenesses avoids.

It's the same with death. An awareness is not made to be gone. So, there are people saying that death is a terrible part of the multiverse, and there are people saying that death is, like the concept of "identity," a nice extra in some realities. Whatever party you choose, it's completely valid.

What Happens

Now, let's address the most important question: what happens when we die? What does that mean? We die, or at least our "life body" does. The body that breathes, drinks, eats, moves during our lifetime. It can die in many ways, because we get too old, have an injury, accidents, you know what I mean. The most common way is this one:

You die at some point, there is a moment where you 100% will no longer live.

This moment can be triggered by many causes, but whatever it is, the same thing happens.

Before your life body dies, you automatically spawn in an afterlife.*

*depending on the individual

That means you don't feel it, you do not suffer. When you reach the point where you won't live anymore, you'll just pop up there in your "afterlife body." The rest depends on the reality concept and the afterlife itself. This way, it's possible for you to experience life, death, and afterlife without worrying about such stuff.

When you get hit by a car would you suffer for the next 4 hours? No, you are already in an afterlife - gone before the car even touches you. When you are really, really sick and would definitely die at some point? Individual - some want to experience it (because of, for example, loved ones) till a few hours before they die, some do not want that, and some do without actually "being in their physical body" - that means that you can talk, think, feel, interact with everything but the sick, physical body cannot affect you. It will happen exactly how you want. Remember: your reality, your rules. But what happens after it?

Where Do I Go?

That is really individual. There is no "ultimate" afterlife and no "ultimate" even after you die. It basically happens however you want. Many here are afraid of "not being able to shift" in an afterlife. But do you know what? Theoretically, it is even easier than here in this reality, in this life, because there is nothing that can influence you. No physical circumstances, nothing. You'll shift from there exactly like in the rest of the multiverse, 100% instantly. So now that we've cleared this up, what are your options?

1. You die and just shift to the reality of your desire (NOT respawning). You don't have to spawn in an afterlife; you can also just spawn in your DR or wherever you want. There are no limits. You can also say you want to leave the 3D, also known as entering the void. Completely possible.

2. You spawn in an afterlife. Do not worry about stuff you don't want there. I'll talk more about this point later, but when you don't want specific creatures or circumstances there, they will not be there.

But what kinds of afterlives can you spawn in? The most common in this reality are religious ones (only when you are religious, so you won't be there unintended) or the astral plane (I do know that it is more complex, but that's it - the astral plane is just a bigger afterlife, nothing more).

Besides these two options, you can always choose anything else. You just want to be in a pretty paradise? You'll be there. You want certain circumstances removed from things you already know, for example, "heaven-hell," but everyone is super nice, of course, you can have it! There are no limits.

What Is There

But what is there now? A lot. Whatever you want. The most popular things here are probably gods, demons, angels, dragons, and spirits. But none of these creatures are something to worry about. Remember when I said, "as we know, negative things like anger, worries, doubts, fear, pain, jealousy, and all these things are not natural." This also applies there. No species is naturally evil or negative. No demon is naturally evil or negative. When I, for example, talk about gods, I like to use this example: They are just a species, like dogs and bees are animals. Very different but still the same in the root.

So yes, of course, a demon and a human are very different, but they are just species, like gods, like angels, like unicorns. Nothing special at all. Totally equal. If you want them to be evil (NOT assuming, genuinely wanting), they are. If you don't want it, they won't. That is a very easy rule for everything. You want heaven but only with Greek gods? This is exactly as valid and totally equal to everything else. An afterlife is as customizable as the reality itself, that means 100%. You don't have to plan everything in great detail; let it surprise you. There will never ever be something you don't want around.

iv. Past Lives

Let's have a last talk about past lives. Will you remember them? What can you find out? What if there's something you don't want? What if you are a completely different person? That is really, really easy to answer: you don’t have a specific "past life."

Reality is 100% customizable. Past, present, future. You control it all. There is simply no truth, no beginning, no ending in the multiverse.

It is exactly the same as having a comfort version of your identity. Yes, there can be something you like the most or feel the most connected to, but it is still never the "truth" because no ultimate truth exists.

Or let's put it the other way: EVERYTHING is the truth. If you want your past life to be in Hogwarts, it is TRUE, 100%. If you spawn in an afterlife and want to remember every single one of your "past lives," then you'll remember your life in Hogwarts.

You can fully customize your past, even this one. For example, you want to remember this life differently, certain things, everything, no matter what. And you spawn in the afterlife, or you shift, or whatever you want to, then you'll exactly remember that version of this life that you want to remember. This is then 100% real, 100% happened like this.

There are no limits. Absolutely none, never.

v. Outro

My Weekly Wipeouts~

Back in April of 2020, I not only started posting daily pics of Marshall, I also began my routine of using clips from the cartoon to post "Weekly Wipeouts". Admittedly, I wanted to call them "Wednesday Wipeouts", but I noticed that was used quite a lot already on Twitter/X for various other posts, so I changed it to Weekly Wipeouts. Ever wonder why I always post these on Wednesday? Now you know!

I haven't missed a single Wipeout since I started (unless you count the ones that got blocked on Youtube... thanks, Viacom). In fact, since that day, I've posted well over 230 of them! Even more, if you count the ones I revisited to extend them with extra clips. Just for fun, here's a peek at the documents I use to keep track of them all.

When I first came up with this idea, I didn't want to just post a clip and call it a day. I figured I'd also create an intro and outro card to place on each one, just to add a little extra flair. I'll admit, this was directly inspired by the official PAW Patrol Youtube account, since they often did something similar.

This is what I initially came up with for my intro. The thing is, I wasn't happy with just using a still image for the background, so I replicated that animated background (common with the franchise) from scratch and made it red. Actually, at first I used the one from the video game, "PAW Patrol on a Roll", since it was easier for me at the time. I later replaced it with one that's more accurate to what you see behind the logo during the official cartoon's intro, only... red.

I kept this for about sixty Wipeouts until I finally decided I wanted to go back in and change those letters to something that looked nicer. Going back to Photoshop...

This is what I came up with. I think these letters just look way better! And this is when I updated the background animation, too. What you see here is what I'm still using now, although I've swapped out the render of Marshall for another a few times since then.

Admittedly, I was slightly tempted to use a render that uses his new season 11 animation, but I don't have any that can work that's also transparent. Besides, I still prefer his old look more, anyway. Maybe I'll try to edit one eventually, if I ever use a wipeout from the latest episodes with that new animation... but I'm pretty sure those will just immediately get blocked by Youtube anyway.

I've also updated my intro for some holidays, such as Halloween and Christmas. I usually work on these ahead of time, since I always make a bunch of edits and modifications to them until I get something I really like. In fact, the Christmas one received quite a few edits.

The first one, we'll call it version 1.0, used a lot of blue, such as the background and letters. I felt this didn't mesh with Marshall's red aesthetic, so I was like "I can't keep this".

For version 1.1, I reversed my edit and made the letters red again. It still didn't look quite right, so again, I went back in to modify it.

For version 1.2, I decided to ditch the blue background and go with the usual red. I also decided, for fun, to put some snow and ice on the badge, just to sell the winter theme even further. I felt it was all starting to look better… but there was still something about it that wasn't meshing for me, particularly with the trees and snow field I drew up. Back to Photoshop.

For version 1.3, I decided to see what it might look like if I made the mountains in the background a bit more blue, to give them a more cold temperature look. I felt this was what it needed for everything to mesh better, so I went with it. This is ultimately what I used!

I later modified this one to use the updated new letters, too. A version 1.3.1, if you will. I had to redraw the Christmas lights around said letters to make it work, but it was worth it to improve the overall look.

Honestly, this stuff can sometimes be a lot of work, especially when the Wipeout clip requires some extra editing (including audio editing to merge clips and/or remove portions for time), but it's something I like doing for you guys. I like my content to look and appear nice, and hopefully unique enough to stand out... even if some of this just involves a brief clip at the start. The effort is often worth it!

Well, I hope you all enjoyed a brief look at some of what goes into my Weekly Wipeouts. I just figured it might be a fun thing to talk about... and to continue procrastinating from working on rearranging my Marshall collection (I haven't worked on it much since my last post about it. lol)

Okay so, starting off strong, let's go music. Will Wood and the Tapeworms, right? A few weeks ago I listened to both versions of every song twice to find which versions I liked better for when I eventually burned CDs (my car is old af, bbg ain't even got an aux, but also her ass ain't got an engine rn 💀) for the albums.

My verdict for Self-Ish? Literally all the songs are the exact same, except Self-, -Ish (which just sound a wee bit different), and Dr Sunshine is dead (which just has a longer outro in the original).

EVERYTHING IS A LOT THO? Some big differences in some songs. So here's my preferences:

6 up 5 oh- Remaster, the "oh how I know how I go.." Part just sounds better to me

(Bones)- Remaster, the radio/tv talk at the end isn't glitchy and stuff, like the OG

Front Street- Original, I like the snaps (tapping?) Behind the pre-chorus, along with the dialogue clip. But, also, I like how much clearer everything is in the remaster, so I'm kinda torn.

¡Akiado!- Original, I am,,,, not a fan of the extra end part in the remaster

White knuckle Jerk- Original. The background(?) Voices are quieter and sound kinda different. Idk I may be wrong about that tho.

Cover this song- Original. I hate hate HATE Batman will wood growling in my ear, please never make me listen to that version again, it was a genuine jump scare. (EDIT: THE REMASTER JUST PLAYED ON MY SPOTIFY AND??? HE'S NOT BATMAN ANYMORE??? IS MY SPOTIFY BROKEN?? PLZ IK I'M NOT CRAZY)

Thermodynamic Lawyer- Remaster. Not really a fan of the robot voice in the original.

Red Moon- original, his voice seems quieter or more drowned out in the remaster.

Lysergide Daydream- Original, don't remember why, so vibes ig lmao, there's not really a difference between the two

The First Step- Remaster, I think it just sounds a little clearer

Jimmy Mushrooms- either, they're literally the same lmao

Chemical Overreaction- original. WE CAN'T STOP HERE, THIS IS BAT COUNTRY 🗣️🗣️ need I say more?

First of all, I love the lyrical differences!! Like, Ballad Jekyll is a lot more emotional and bitter, while B/C seems to take more of the responsibility. Also!! I like how in B/C Jekyll seems to be with someone else, while Ballad Jekyll seems to be alone. The contrast between the last lines ("but if it takes Mr Hyde with me, then I'm glad to hang" V.S. EXTREMELY FUCKING LONG VIDEO

A quick note as I say this: the video is currently about seven hours long (going into present canon). Premiere Pro is hating my ass and plotting my murder. Every time I open it, it hates my guts and taunts me with the fear that I might lose new progress whenever it goes “Not Responding”.

Not only that, but I’m not sure I can feasibly release a longer than twenty-four hour video. Ignoring the logistics of still trying to figure out where to host it, of course.

HOWEVER. I know I’d probably like a long video that I can just jump into whenever rather than having to jump around different videos. Plus, then it can all be released at once.

I’ve finished the first two, although if I were to separate them, I’d have one hell of a time of it. I could also release as I finished rather than having to wait until it was all done. This will also be less of a strain on my computer and of course my computer storage.

It can also help by allowing you to watch straight through whatever arc you want. If you just want to see everything right before canon, you can do that. If you just want the DEAD APPLE Post Guild arc, you can do that.

NOTE: There are subtitles for the whole thing built into the video. Intros and outros are cut. Intermissions are cut to the best of my ability. Each period of time has a card before it saying how long ago it was (ex: 36 years ago, 8 years ago, etc). Also, if I can, there will be timestamps in the video (depending on where it is hosted) so you can jump around to how ever long ago you want.

Now that Royai Week is over, a few stats and final thoughts! All time stamps are the final version, which are usually anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute or two longer.

Day 1, curiosity: there's something I've been meaning to say to you

What I'm proudest of: This story moves beautifully and fluidly between action and internal narration. It can be tricky to figure out how to make those transitions clear with one's voice, but I managed it here.

Day 2, appreciate: By My Side

What I'm proudest of: This one has a lot of "I hope others like this, but I'm making ME happy with these choices" moments, so here are just a few of those: 1. Figuring out the cover art, especially getting to use the photographs of the moment that inspired the fic 2. Layering the instrumental and vocal versions of the song that was included before the fic as both an intro and outro 3. My reading of "My dearest Riza" 4. Indulging in some talk at the end (even if I meant to say "inspired by a prompt" at the start whoops)

Day 3, pressure: Every Day's a Test of Our Camaraderie and Bravery

What I'm proudest of: I much prefer editing to recording, and this multivoice gave me so many opportunities to just have a blast! All of my collaborators gave wonderful performances, and I'm proud of the pacing in conversations. I'm also proud of the sound effects in Riza's letters to Ling—I recorded the crumpling paper at the last minute when I couldn't find a version that worked for me. Lastly, look at how close I was able to match the cover art to the Hamilton logo!!

Day 4, compose: two tickets to the rabbit hole, please

What I'm proudest of: I'm definitely proud of the music (the selections repeat, but they also change, and those changes reflect the emotions as the plot progresses) and cover art (successfully blurring out the address and replacing it with the title), but I'm proud of my acting choices in a way that I often am not, so I wanted to highlight a few of those. First, Riza's voice in early letters fluctuating between warmth in the common/ordinary topics and coolness/detatchment in anything about Berthold; second, drunk!Roy calling himself "Major"; finally, conveying Roy's stream-of-consciousness in the letter he didn't send.

Day 5, gift: morning toasts and thunderstorms

What I'm proudest of: Roy and Riza are coming from such different emotional places in this story. That's my favorite part of this fic, and it's the thing I worked hardest on capturing; I'm happy with the choices I made to achieve that end.
