Hi everyone, ready for a theory that made me shit bricks when i thought of it?

I posted this on the uc discord already but i figured i should tell the hellsite

SPOILERS FOR EP 1 OF ABA AND ALSO ARC 5

So i think i figured out what the "edge of the world" is.

This arc takes place in the whispering woodlands, which are next to the city of solaris. You know what else happened in solaris? That's right, a city-wide time loop! And if you recall, the number of loops they did didn't sync up to the time in the outside world, so until someone fixes that, Solaris is stuck like six hours behind the rest of the world.

Whoever was talking about stepping into the edge of the world (i think that was Myrm the anteater) said they stepped forward and it was night, then backwards and it was day again. That's what would happen if you stepped into solaris from the outside, because they're basically in a different timezone!

Bad Gays pt 2 WIP snippet: KimKenta + Dean

It’s a little early in the draft process to be posting this (meaning I prob won’t have it finished for a while yet), but I have actually been working on this in my head all month, I just haven’t been able to write much until now, and I wanna SHARE THINGS

Dean sits down next to Kenta, resting his back against the loveseat, his hands folded in his lap. He leaves a noticeable space between the two of them, but it gets smaller with each beer that Dean finishes, until he's practically leaning his head against Kenta's shoulder while they watch some dog video on Dean's phone. Dean, who's already seen the video before, is giggling helplessly, while Kenta looks back and forth between the phone and Dean with an amused set to his brow. Kim doesn't miss the fact that Kenta never tries to pull away, that he's comfortable with Dean's clinginess. "Look, P'Kim, look!" Dean says, passing the phone to Kim, so he can watch the dog dashing around in confused happiness. Kim grins, more amused at Dean than the video. He hands the phone back, and Dean pauses. "Oi, P'Kim, how do your nails always look so pretty?" he asks. Kim looks at his hand as if seeing his own nails for the first time. "Trade secret," he says, with a teasing smile, and he laughs when that draws a pout out of Dean. "Here," he says, gesturing for Dean to give him his hand. He smoothes his thumb over each of Dean's nails, gauging the texture and looking for dirt. "You can start with buffing," he says, going over the basics of nailcare, while he rubs up and down Dean's fingers, almost mindlessly. Except nothing Kim does is ever mindless.

El and Lucas the Max Protectors™

a lot of people seem to hc Max as really protective, and I get it because that comes standard with the type of character that Max almost is. but Max is not protective. she's emotionally protective, she's physically supportive, but she's not physically protective. in a moment of danger you never see Max stepping out in front - you see her at the back of the group. and she never has a bruised ego about it. she never insists she doesn't need stupid boys to protect her and she never does the "ohh thank u kind sir lmaooo" thing with Lucas after the danger has passed.

I'm here to tell you that while Max might not readily admit to it, she likes to be protected. loves to be protected. not in a damsel way; we've seen her get out of some horrible situations on her own. she never really expects or seeks it out, but her friends just do protect her without her having to ask, and it means so much to her. because Max has felt unprotected all her life, and she craves it. can she even remember a time when she felt totally safe in her own home? she lives with two abusers and I can't imagine Max seeing her mother as any kind of of protector, after putting her in that situation. Max hasn't had anyone make her feel safe in a long time.

so I love that while Max is capable of taking care of herself, when something scary happens, you can find her unapologetically peeking out from behind that nerd boy and his little slingshot, the one who she made fun of for screaming like a little girl. I love that it seems like Max's character would be the one protective of her abused ingenue bff, but she's the one always standing back with awe while El bodily shields her from monster after monster. I think being protected like that makes Max feel very loved.

Bonus: El's protection means so much to Max that the literal last act of her life is to try to reciprocate and try to protect El when she needs it. i'm done, do not speak to me
